hand dependent, Maxx C can frick it but also you run a bunch of the archetypal traps since they're combo pieces so sometimes you can just set them into Maxx C
it's a good deck, it would have been meta had it come out before Snake-Eyes as expected but since it did people just pulled the best deck and kinda ignored it, meaning it's underplayed and lesser known than it ought to be. it's maxx c weak but has the benefit of being able to be slapped on top of other archetypes as a powerful engine (ie lab), on top of being a competent pure deck, not a bad investment at all.
How good is Unchained? Can it go second or is it a go first or lose deck?
It's alright. I'm bad at it and make tons of misplays, but it seems like your endboard just isn't that strong. It is in theory, with high king caesar and rage, but they're huge targets for imperm, and then you're fricked. And maxx c is a big problem. I think at best, you end on rage and give your opponent 2 draws.
That said, I haven't used it since little knight dropped, and she gives rage an actually useful link to go into on the opponent's turn (I don't have knightmare unicorn).

Maybe it's you who should read Tenpai's effect again. Most of their effect to special summon other small dragon or itself from graveyard require you to battle or attacking at least 3 times.
If you summon their level 10 synchro during main phase then that's all you got on your field, a fricking 3K beatstick

Not after Terraforming and Union Carrier got banned. It's quite bricky, but the deck has multiple combo lines that outright shit on Nibiru. Some combos can even play without giving your opponent an Ash or Veiler target.
There was some ancient gba or something game i played where i made a whole strat around calc, like go barbaros turn one then summon calc on the second to have an instant beatstick.

hugin doesn't tribute herself for cost or activate for that effect, her protection effect is a continuous effect that you can optionally use to protect cards from destruction. That continuous effect would be negated under skill drain, so you wouldn't have an option to use it.

keep in mind some of these ratios are not perfectly accurate
like, if you run horus as an engine you don't need 3 sarc, 2 is fine. salamangreat of fire is also superfluous since lady debug is kinda outright superior to it by virtue of not being anywhere as limiting (and not a fricking UR). raging phoenix is a 1 of if you only run it in fire decks (not salad).
Salamangreat of Fire is its own variant that placed incredibly high in the latest YCS which is a format very similar to MD's own
2 SP is a very powerful use of extra deckspace in decks abusing Linkuriboh and in case the first gets outed, which is why you often see Rescue Ace using two of them. And yes, it does help to make her more consistent vs Kashtira

there's merits to playing 3 as you go through 2 on turn 1 and the third left on extra may provide follow-up and ensure an OTK on turn 3. But 2 is also fine because you need a ton of extra deck space for wickid, princess, sp and horse prince, and 2 extra slots for pyro phoenix. The TCG is unanimously on 3 because they don't have Code of Soul so they have free space

It does. Thankfully most MD players are kind of stupid so they just imperm/ash your normal summon. Thankfully the deck is all gas and stuff like Diabellstar/OSS helps you play through Isolde getting negated. Your bigger problem is Maxx C and going second. Infernoble can really struggle to challenge existing boards due to lack of non-engine. Gearfried can really help in this regard but you have to get to that card first and that's not guaranteed. Sometimes you can just extend through an opponent's interruptions but that's not guaranteed. However, if you go first and don't get bug'd/Nib'd then almost no deck has the capacity to beat you. Charles the Great has something like an 85% winrate and since shit like Angelica's Angelic Ring can negate superpoly and DRNM it's not hard to see why.

I was about to ask about the armored XYZ line because the infernoble line is already tough to pull. I also just happened to have the cards when I tried to pull for TG and Unchained respectively.
I ended up with Infernoble and Battlin Boxers so I already had the deck ready.
But yeah, the phoenix gearblade is pretty good. I was not aware it was a new card. I thought it was like a spoiler for a next set. Ditto on the Maxx C, however that piece of shit wins games if it resolves so it is always worth it and it also baits Ash Blossom in case you make it to your turn.

foolish effects are universally busted (see: kitkallos, curious, brafu) so it's not like it's unwarranted (and i say that as a spyral player who abuses this shit)
sinful spoil chimera is relative new.
and most of the time you want to keep a chimera on field so your illusions in gy can act as interruption. so it's a highroll move. but it is very great if you can pull it since both card also act as another layer of interruption (and diabelze also protect you from quick spell like super poly)

What’s the main purpose of having the Horus engine in a deck? All I’m seeing people do is use it as a way to draw 1 or tearlaments using the discard effect to combo
Depends on the deck, but there are a lot of good generic rank 8s. You can add Hope Harbinger to an endboard for a spell negate and to insulate other monsters from being attacked, The Zombie Vampire to double down on milling, Coach King Giantrainer to draw 3 after thinning your deck, Dingirsu if you're going second and need to force something out before making Zeus, or even just use them as material for link plays. The big thing is that the cards let you discard stuff while providing advantage/bodies on field and there are plenty of decks that can benefit from that. Since it has no restrictions and is pretty lean, it slots nicely into decks that need a little something extra.

11K gems, I think I did amazingly well considering before this I didn't have anything in the pack. I don't really think the build with triple Code of Soul is that good so I will only craft 1 Code and 2 Angwitch for Salamangreat and Memento
yes but even then some players are arguing for triple code of soul triple debug and 2 mining. I think this cuts significantly into the ability of Salamangreat to play a high number of non-engine to disrupt the opponent outside of the incredibly greedy play that is Pyro Phoenix and this is a significant disadvantage in the Master Duel format (even though I'm playing the 2 Mining and 3 Debug in my deck)

They gave this card the holy totally generic spell search effect that Konami have historically been very fricking hesitant to give to any card without some horrifying restriction or requirement (except for mucho texto man who has it as a battle-destruction float effect, and everyone forgets that he even has that effect because it's at the end of his novel of card text) and even with this theoretically very strong effect nobody gives a shit about this b***h.
The 3 spell counters thing is bad, even though if Clatis doesn't get popped you'll typically end a turn with shitloads of counters anyway because of how many fricking monster effects happen.
But older generic spell search effects had conditions like Dark Sage where you had to use fricking Time Incel, or Left Arm Offering where you had to banish your entire hand.

In addition to the main anime series there are a couple films too. After you finish the original series watch Dark Side of Dimensions, then watch GX, and then after starting Season 3 of 5Ds watch Bonds Beyond Time.
people b***hed about tear and branded but 5+ poplar searchers per snake eyes decks with the hidden "special summon on seach effect" just makes the deck so resilient especiallt with OSS and poplar's gy effect enabling extensions / recovery. it takes anywhere between 3 and 4 interuptions to truly shut down SE (ash is the deck's biggest chokepoint but the amount of extenders / recovery available to the deck means they can still play through a well placed negate, and, of course, ash is a no-no.)
I play Gem Knights and I do 16,000 life points of damage before the second turn starts. If I flip heads and don't get negated I win. The fun of the game becomes a puzzle instead of a competition where I need to figure out how to get Lapis Lazuli and Master Diamond on the field from my opening hand.

Recycling the fusion is fun and using the right resources to fuse to get their graveyard effects makes it interesting. Post your Gem Knight FTK deck. I have a couple Master Diamonds and I'm on a streak of planning out what new decks I can build with my random URs that I didn't dust
Black Garden garuntees FTK with full enemy tokens and 3 cards, no Black Garden means you need play through disruption.
Your main goal is to get two "Gem" monsters on the field to Summon the Link. Rescue Rabbit, Unexpected Dai, and Adamancipator Researcher all help with this. Use the Link to search whatever card you need for your combos and than use him to Summon using materials from your GY.
You want to have Lapis Lazuli burn, use Lady Brilliant Diamond to turn her into Master Diamond, use his ability to use Lapis Lazuli's burn again and send LL's to your GY, and than fuse as many other Master Diamonds you can that turn to spam damage.
If you can't FTK, Aquamarine and Lady Rose Diamond are halfway decent defensive cards to have on your board. (I wish they had better support so bad Konami plz) The traps can do the last of your opponents life points in damage in emergency scenarios if they're not prepared for it.

snake eyes had to be the lowest floor/ceiling of the tier 1 decks. usually Black folk have to finesse their way around banishes/shuffled (branded / post merli ban tear) or into getting their key starter in hand uninterrupted (brafu/circular) but in the case of SE theres such an absence of execution required that you get actual morons playing this shit who actually never read the cards. no t1 deck has had such an amount of morons playing it except for swordsoul 2 years ago.

You're looking for classic Street Fighter, but you have to accept that modern Yu-Gi-Oh is a kusoge anime fighter based on putting your opponent through the blender with unfair mixups.
Aside from trying to find GOAT/Edison games outside of MD, maybe try coping through decks with lots of handtraps to interrupt OTK shit or ones that have resilience and rely on multilayered interactions, such as Branded or Chimera. You might also try stuff like Paleo or no-floodgate Lab

no its fine and strong enough (until maxx sea releases). the fact it makes 7 cards in everyone's decks (maxx c+anti maxx-c package) useless + can use virtually all the relevant pots in a bo1 ladder is absurdly strong, on top of which it suprebly synergizes with both shifter and a wealth of floodgates. maxx sea adds "normal summon" to its conditions specifically to nerf that fricking deck. the fact this deck also plays during your turn makes it egregious to fight and its the most hated deck in the game for a reason.
so no, ignore the floo downplayers, for once, v's seething is very justified.

it's a good deck, it would have been meta had it come out before Snake-Eyes as expected but since it did people just pulled the best deck and kinda ignored it, meaning it's underplayed and lesser known than it ought to be. it's maxx c weak but has the benefit of being able to be slapped on top of other archetypes as a powerful engine (ie lab), on top of being a competent pure deck, not a bad investment at all.

It's alright. I'm bad at it and make tons of misplays, but it seems like your endboard just isn't that strong. It is in theory, with high king caesar and rage, but they're huge targets for imperm, and then you're fricked. And maxx c is a big problem. I think at best, you end on rage and give your opponent 2 draws.
That said, I haven't used it since little knight dropped, and she gives rage an actually useful link to go into on the opponent's turn (I don't have knightmare unicorn).

keep in mind some of these ratios are not perfectly accurate
like, if you run horus as an engine you don't need 3 sarc, 2 is fine. salamangreat of fire is also superfluous since lady debug is kinda outright superior to it by virtue of not being anywhere as limiting (and not a fricking UR). raging phoenix is a 1 of if you only run it in fire decks (not salad).

you want third copy for your turn 3
there's merits to playing 3 as you go through 2 on turn 1 and the third left on extra may provide follow-up and ensure an OTK on turn 3. But 2 is also fine because you need a ton of extra deck space for wickid, princess, sp and horse prince, and 2 extra slots for pyro phoenix. The TCG is unanimously on 3 because they don't have Code of Soul so they have free space

It does. Thankfully most MD players are kind of stupid so they just imperm/ash your normal summon. Thankfully the deck is all gas and stuff like Diabellstar/OSS helps you play through Isolde getting negated. Your bigger problem is Maxx C and going second. Infernoble can really struggle to challenge existing boards due to lack of non-engine. Gearfried can really help in this regard but you have to get to that card first and that's not guaranteed. Sometimes you can just extend through an opponent's interruptions but that's not guaranteed. However, if you go first and don't get bug'd/Nib'd then almost no deck has the capacity to beat you. Charles the Great has something like an 85% winrate and since shit like Angelica's Angelic Ring can negate superpoly and DRNM it's not hard to see why.
If I may, I think you have decent coverage against the roach but lacking in other areas. I think rather gamble on the one crossout for coverage.

I was about to ask about the armored XYZ line because the infernoble line is already tough to pull. I also just happened to have the cards when I tried to pull for TG and Unchained respectively.
I ended up with Infernoble and Battlin Boxers so I already had the deck ready.
But yeah, the phoenix gearblade is pretty good. I was not aware it was a new card. I thought it was like a spoiler for a next set. Ditto on the Maxx C, however that piece of shit wins games if it resolves so it is always worth it and it also baits Ash Blossom in case you make it to your turn.

There are lines that can set up both a Beatrice and a Chimera on field, but you generally need something like a Nightmare Apprentice + Patchwork/Chain.

Depends on the deck, but there are a lot of good generic rank 8s. You can add Hope Harbinger to an endboard for a spell negate and to insulate other monsters from being attacked, The Zombie Vampire to double down on milling, Coach King Giantrainer to draw 3 after thinning your deck, Dingirsu if you're going second and need to force something out before making Zeus, or even just use them as material for link plays. The big thing is that the cards let you discard stuff while providing advantage/bodies on field and there are plenty of decks that can benefit from that. Since it has no restrictions and is pretty lean, it slots nicely into decks that need a little something extra.

I think this cuts significantly into the ability of Salamangreat to play a high number of non-engine to disrupt the opponent outside of the incredibly greedy play that is Pyro Phoenix and this is a significant disadvantage in the Master Duel format (even though I'm playing the 2 Mining and 3 Debug in my deck)

I play Gem Knights and I do 16,000 life points of damage before the second turn starts. If I flip heads and don't get negated I win. The fun of the game becomes a puzzle instead of a competition where I need to figure out how to get Lapis Lazuli and Master Diamond on the field from my opening hand.

Recycling the fusion is fun and using the right resources to fuse to get their graveyard effects makes it interesting. Post your Gem Knight FTK deck. I have a couple Master Diamonds and I'm on a streak of planning out what new decks I can build with my random URs that I didn't dust
Black Garden garuntees FTK with full enemy tokens and 3 cards, no Black Garden means you need play through disruption.
Your main goal is to get two "Gem" monsters on the field to Summon the Link. Rescue Rabbit, Unexpected Dai, and Adamancipator Researcher all help with this. Use the Link to search whatever card you need for your combos and than use him to Summon using materials from your GY.
You want to have Lapis Lazuli burn, use Lady Brilliant Diamond to turn her into Master Diamond, use his ability to use Lapis Lazuli's burn again and send LL's to your GY, and than fuse as many other Master Diamonds you can that turn to spam damage.
If you can't FTK, Aquamarine and Lady Rose Diamond are halfway decent defensive cards to have on your board. (I wish they had better support so bad Konami plz) The traps can do the last of your opponents life points in damage in emergency scenarios if they're not prepared for it.

You're looking for classic Street Fighter, but you have to accept that modern Yu-Gi-Oh is a kusoge anime fighter based on putting your opponent through the blender with unfair mixups.
Aside from trying to find GOAT/Edison games outside of MD, maybe try coping through decks with lots of handtraps to interrupt OTK shit or ones that have resilience and rely on multilayered interactions, such as Branded or Chimera. You might also try stuff like Paleo or no-floodgate Lab
