Playing against the deck, it looks pretty hard to pin down, if the player is good. Lost 2 times because of the 4500 damage in 2 turns they can set up.
At the same time, they are incredible fair and fun to play against. Way better than the stun decks that are in the ladder.
BTW, it's just me or are the number of decks that are using the pachy and the fairy to floodgate special summons increased?
I don't know how you're playing that shit. I keep drawing unplayable constantly and dropped that shit so fast. Hard drawing Jiaolong and Caesar every fricking game without a way to Razen. I get the grind game but to draw the kinds of hands to get to that grind, any other deck I feel like I would have just won already anyway or I could have more room for non-engine.

As much as I have some issues with the current meta, I like that so many of the archetypes released lately do feel like they have distinct playstyles.
Floo is mechanically cool when you realize it's not representing multiple birds being summoned but the Floo gang traveling to visit these other birds
The initial normal summon is a trip, and the summons keep chaining (different locations visited) as long as that trip keeps going. Birds return to your hand as leaving them allows you to visit them again later. The map lets you start another trip.
And all this results in one of the most infuriating and annoying mechanics to play against in practice
One thing I noticed is that when MD released there were no real viable non-extra deck focused decks. Basically you had Zombies with Balerdroch and Eldlich and Dinos with Tyranno and that was it. Now there are a lot more options for if you don't want to do extra deck combos and don't want to set 5 trap cards.
And yeah, the decks do feel quite distinct. The "EVERY DECK JUST SUMMONS A BUNCH OF NEGATES" complaint was fairly valid on release, but not now.
That was only played in events because the events were really low power level and they dodged the banlist in every event. Also that is a set 5 trap card deck that ran shit like Monarchs Erupt.

you say that like half the no extra deck decks that are viable are significantly different. lab sets a bunch of backrow and floo wouldn't be half the deck it is without map and dreaming town. really, the only deck that isn't reliant on the extra deck that's currently viable and isn't overly reliant on reactive spell/traps is mikanko.
It was absolutely a viable laddering deck at launch and for a few releases after. Most decks had no answer for shitting out a bunch of beaters and floodgates, not really fundamentally different from floodgate eldy.
It was viable even without floodgates because Omni negates were rare back then. True draco trap + 1 monster was enough to start breaking a board. Things started getting difficult when baron showed up, and the deck was completely depended on floodgates when swordsoul was introduced.

It changed absolutely NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. Purrely still dominates the meta, Dragon Link shits all over mathmech with bystials and Labrynth floodgate still reigns supreme.
It got a bump with Link Decoder in power and thats not enough to survive in a game with bystials.

Mathmech isn't really much better than it was when terahertz came out. Decoder is nice but doesn't really fundamentally change the deck and the fusion is just a sidegrade from aggregator. It still fricking dies to ariseheart, unicorn, bestialities, and still has no answer to purrely. It's just win the coinflip bro, the deck.
Because handrip with a negate is moronic. Even people barely tolerates lab handrip because you can ash it compared to cyberseslop that handrip you while having 2 omninegates that can't be ashed.

the rituals are all gigabricks with no hand effects, the good spells are unsearchable, and then you gotta fit the maxx c package. if you go above 40 it gets bricky as hell but if you don't you don't get to have board breakers or handtraps. it feels like something released in 2014.

This treatment is not exclusive to the west though, lots of people liked nemurelia and yet every single piece of support they gave it is trash, and people cope by running it with fricking gren maju of all things.

You use the pendulum, the spells and cooking competition to start your board and then work with the rituals. It's not the best but unlike what they'll tell you in the thread, it works perfectly fine just not meta contender.
Most of the time I get the feeling that people here decide if a deck is good or bad without ever having actually played it or even knowing how their cards work.

It's not that bad, honestly. It's definitely not competitive, but it works pretty well. I've done 10 games between small variations, and not bricked once. Helps that almost everything other than the rituals themselves is a searcher. I found Maxx C to not even be worth running after a few test games, since the higher levels of the Impcantations ends up being more useful in the case that you do end up with only the high level ritual monsters in hand. If I had more space, I'd put more of them before I put Maxx C in. Still might drop Baelgrill to 1 and try to squeeze in more non-engine removal, and I need to work on my Extra Deck, but for a deck I was expecting to be complete shit I'm pleasantly surprised with how consistent it is.

Konami should make more legacy support in the form of pendulum cards, like a single pendulum card for an archetype that doesn't have any but adds more options.
For example a pendulum retrain of mystical shine ball that works as a normal monster but the scale effect lets you shuffle it back into the deck and draw 1, also you cant have 3 of it and the original shine ball in the deck.

Most because it gave support to pet decks and people underestimated the power of cards, so the label stuck. As a example, look when they revealed the unchained cards, most players said that they were good but just more of the same shit and wouldn't affect the meta.
It removes from their deck not hand. Why would you want to remove hand traps from their deck? You hit their searchable engine pieces. Like you hit all their Births+Preparation+Big Bang. Or all their Moyes+Long Yuans/Protos.

Maybe they should? Reboot curb stomps Lab, Shuts off Mathmech's Superfactorial, shuts off Leap, stops stun, even turns off Tear backrow if you encounter them.
This is a little disingenuous.
First, most lab opponents start with more than a single opening card, so while a single ash can win 1/10 games, 9/10 games they can still continue playing and you have the same issue. It's not the same as using ash against my friend when playing against purrely as a example.
Red reboot is actually a good card if you draw it on your OH and is not snipped before you can do anything (chinks seem to have aimbots for your outs).
So it's very situational and not actually a good strategy.
IF you are talking about good strategies against Lab it would be: go first and set your board properly.

Mathmech isn't really much better than it was when terahertz came out. Decoder is nice but doesn't really fundamentally change the deck and the fusion is just a sidegrade from aggregator. You use the pendulum, the spells and cooking competition to start your board and then work with the rituals. It's not the best but unlike what they'll tell you in the thread, it works perfectly fine just not meta contender.

It's not that bad, honestly. It's definitely not competitive, but it works pretty well. I've done 10 games between small variations, and not bricked once. Helps that almost everything other than the rituals themselves is a searcher. I found Maxx C to not even be worth running after a few test games, since the higher levels of the Impcantations ends up being more useful in the case that you do end up with only the high level ritual monsters in hand. If I had more space, I'd put more of them before I put Maxx C in. Still might drop Baelgrill to 1 and try to squeeze in more non-engine removal, and I need to work on my Extra Deck, but for a deck I was expecting to be complete shit I'm pleasantly surprised with how consistent it is.

Lab is a deck that has extreme momentum once they start rolling but are super easy to chokepoint because of how intense the discard cost is if they can't set up the resource loop. So any interruption on Big Welcome like Ash/Belle is killer.

This is a little disingenuous.
First, most lab opponents start with more than a single opening card, so while a single ash can win 1/10 games, 9/10 games they can still continue playing and you have the same issue. It's not the same as using ash against my friend when playing against purrely as a example.
Red reboot is actually a good card if you draw it on your OH and is not snipped before you can do anything (chinks seem to have aimbots for your outs).
So it's very situational and not actually a good strategy.
IF you are talking about good strategies against Lab it would be: go first and set your board properly.
