It's the exact opposite, playing in a quickplay setting online is infinitely more frustrating. In person play is a lot more fun. Only exception is against stunhomosexuals but they're never fun.

I don't play at tournaments, but I love playing against friends IRL. We do use modern decks, not boomer shit. It just "feels" better to play IRL. Knowing that your opponent is a real person and not a soulless chink bot helps too.
I get more frustrated playing online. Against a real person I take my lose in stride. Spergamasters mumbling about their bad luck over and over are annoying, but they are a minority.

The first two URs are important for your core combo. You need them. The deck is very easy to build. You'll crush a lot of low ranked players and can take it further if you invest in Forbidden Droplets and Lightning Storms. Going second decks are massive scrubkillers in best of 1.
You can also build Cyberdarks using the newer cards in the structure deck. They're still kinda shit, but Cyberdark End Dragon can be very difficult to out in some events with smaller cardpools.
Rampage is what kills the opponent. He removes back row and attacks three times. Nova is your extender to reach Verte and activate your fusion spell from the deck. Infinity helps Rampage deliver his triple payload by removing a monster and negating potential disruption during the battle phase. You will always be making use of all three during your combo.
Did Jesse Kotton actually play 3 desires in tear at worlds? Absolute madman there's no way that's optimal maybe in TCG where you can "mana weave"(stack) but not in MD where its actually random what you draw. Ive seen too many paper games where you got people drawing exactly what they need

I climbed to Master I last month with DLink just to prove to myself that I can do it, but I'm never doing that again. I am staying at Plat V - Diamond I from now on. Master II was by far the most unfun experience I've ever had playing this game, nothing but Maxx "C" wars, DShifter from stunshit like Exo/Floo, Tear schizo piles and Spright builds built to go first and auto-win. I played against a Lightsworn Tear list that proceeded to Trish handloop me with Lumina after I used a Bystial on his first Tear name. Just absolute utter insanity back to back to back in that rank.

What a nice way to start the day, I guess the algorithm didn't like my four win streak yesterday. I've been seeing way too much Dragon Link as of recently and almost always I go second against them, it's getting very annoying.
Most of the time I rank up is with a 4 win streak, if I lose the rank up match I know I'm in for a bad time as I'll either alternate between wins and losses or just straight up lose 3+ games in a row.
I've taken to stopping if I lose two games in a row.
Yeah, and now I'm stuck on a win lose loop in D5. I guess I'm not getting to Master, or at least D1, before Kashtira shits on the game even harder since we're not getting a banlist this time. Might as well join the cancer and pick back Tears or Sprights.
What are you trying with now? I've been playing Dogmatika Bystial control in diamond, it does well enough against most decks but takes a hard L to Floo, Lab, and other main deck powerhouses.
Labrynth, my climb through Plat was pretty seamless other than a horrible 7 lose streak and yesterday I quickly promoted to D4, but today it has been a whole mess with bricked hands, going second and Dragon Link drones. I'm close to copy that chink decklist focused on handripping just out of curiosity. Funny enough, Tears are nowhere to be seen in Diamond so far.
Really is luck of the draw, when I played yesterday all I got was tearlament.
I haven't run into that much labrynth in my climb from Gf to D4 so far.
Dimension shifter is also a blowout against Dogmatika, I might have to switch to something else if I want to try making it to D1 once kashtira arrives, I know they'll be running shifter.

Super Poly is just really good right now against I think every single deck except maybe Lab and Branded. Despite what whiners will say it isn't an auto-win card but it turns unwinnable games into winnable ones.
It's actually really good against Tears if you play it right. You either use it on their Kitkallos because the b***h is going in the GY anyway and you stop them summoning a Merli or Reinoheart, you can hit Tear names on board that already used their Fusion effect or even on a new turn with GY interruptions just so you can turn off backrow, Super Poly on shit that isn't a Tear name immediately in DP like Dracostapelia, Redoer, Dweller, Grapha, etc. I find it quite good.
Though I am also playing Branded so I do sometimes get extra mileage out of the card. Still, most decks can still play Super Poly against Tear very well, including Tear.

Kash is strong because of Arise's Macro and because of Shifter killing almost every deck. Without Arise they have no access to their strongest play and Shifter actively hinders the generic combo board by turning off Jet, O-Lion, Cupid Pitch and Savage.

You can't be serious when the original Firewall Dragon being an ungodly card caused such massive ripples between Konami and Gallop.
The relationship between Konami and Gallop changed significantly over the course of Arc-V's and VRAINS's productions, for one.
The ocg frequently had different card effects than in the anime, especially back when anime characters could just slap shit in face up defense mode and the like.
Konami made a shitty mechanic in Link monsters and didn't learn their lesson about loops after decades and instead of an errata they made shit worse for a long time. But that incident simply does not reflect on how things used to be. If you think the anime wasn't an important vehicle to selling cards you are a literal fricking moron. There's a reason "BUY BLACKFEATHER" is a long lived community meme

You have to remember that GX was anime original, there was no manga to draw from there so Konami was the biggest force behind keeping the show running. There wasn't any kind of formula in place, and frankly there was no formula up until ZeXal which was a soft-reboot of DM.
So the idea that the anime advertised ongoing product wasn't correct. Konami was originally making product as a tie-in, the anime was just an advertisement for the manga.

No, him too. After season 2, GX basically replaces the entire cast with the international students. Season 4 manages to tie up Chazz' arc well, but that's because wrapping the academy student's (and Crowler's) arcs was all season 4 was doing while the real plot was happening behind the scenes.

Plenty of people want "Wow! COOL boss monster!" whenever their archetype gets support, people were wondering why Jack didn't get one with his structure deck. Konami knows what the deck needs, but there's no reason to print it unless the deck is nigh-unplayable or the card designer on duty likes it. See: Fire Duelist Pack where Salads got Jack and Shit but every other card was playable (not enough to make the decks even rogue but very playable)

GX is a very dumb show that simultaneously takes itself too seriously but also not seriously enough and I don't fault anyone who doesn't like it.
I never watched GX but played a bunch of the video games as a kid, and those were pretty cool. It’s funny how bad all the cards from early GX era are though.
I could start a lecture on why that is and why them fricking up so hard is still being felt today but let's just say that Cyber Dragon was the catalyst of a lot of good and bad shit.
We're currently in one of the worst metas the game has ever had, but all in all, the game is very f2p friendly and you can easily make a top deck with the initial gems you get. As long as you stay in Platinum and below, you should be fine while you get used to all of the new stuff the game has had since then. Solo Mode also does a decent job in introducing you to the different summoning mechanics.
there's a ton of solo content if you just wanna try it out before you jump into multiplayer, might as well give it a shot and see if you like it

Dragonlink is the name for the deck that uses all the various dragon cards in one deck. It's very good. Blue Eyes is... Pretty bad. And very expensive. If you make it, do it on an alt account so you don't blow all your starting gems on a deck you may not want to keep playing. Hopefully some day they'll do what they did for Dark Magician and add in a structure deck so you can make it for really cheap.

If you expect anything from that era of yugiohn no. If you want to learn an entirely new game where shit is usually decided in 2 turns go for it. You will always have meta shit to worry about but a lot of decks are more than playable. It also depends on how much you can tolerate Maxx "C".

i ran evenly in runick, sometimes it's good, but sometimes you draw evenly on 3rd turn, go to battlephase, forget that you don't have 1 and it skips your entire turn

I don't play at tournaments, but I love playing against friends IRL. We do use modern decks, not boomer shit. It just "feels" better to play IRL. Knowing that your opponent is a real person and not a soulless chink bot helps too.
I get more frustrated playing online. Against a real person I take my lose in stride. Spergamasters mumbling about their bad luck over and over are annoying, but they are a minority.

The first two URs are important for your core combo. You need them. The deck is very easy to build. You'll crush a lot of low ranked players and can take it further if you invest in Forbidden Droplets and Lightning Storms. Going second decks are massive scrubkillers in best of 1.
You can also build Cyberdarks using the newer cards in the structure deck. They're still kinda shit, but Cyberdark End Dragon can be very difficult to out in some events with smaller cardpools.

Rampage is what kills the opponent. He removes back row and attacks three times. Nova is your extender to reach Verte and activate your fusion spell from the deck. Infinity helps Rampage deliver his triple payload by removing a monster and negating potential disruption during the battle phase. You will always be making use of all three during your combo.
If you go first you can make Infinity + the trap.
If you have a trap at all you want to go for the kill.

I climbed to Master I last month with DLink just to prove to myself that I can do it, but I'm never doing that again. I am staying at Plat V - Diamond I from now on. Master II was by far the most unfun experience I've ever had playing this game, nothing but Maxx "C" wars, DShifter from stunshit like Exo/Floo, Tear schizo piles and Spright builds built to go first and auto-win. I played against a Lightsworn Tear list that proceeded to Trish handloop me with Lumina after I used a Bystial on his first Tear name. Just absolute utter insanity back to back to back in that rank.

What a nice way to start the day, I guess the algorithm didn't like my four win streak yesterday. I've been seeing way too much Dragon Link as of recently and almost always I go second against them, it's getting very annoying.
Most of the time I rank up is with a 4 win streak, if I lose the rank up match I know I'm in for a bad time as I'll either alternate between wins and losses or just straight up lose 3+ games in a row.
I've taken to stopping if I lose two games in a row.

Labrynth, my climb through Plat was pretty seamless other than a horrible 7 lose streak and yesterday I quickly promoted to D4, but today it has been a whole mess with bricked hands, going second and Dragon Link drones. I'm close to copy that chink decklist focused on handripping just out of curiosity. Funny enough, Tears are nowhere to be seen in Diamond so far.

I haven't run into that much labrynth in my climb from Gf to D4 so far.
Dimension shifter is also a blowout against Dogmatika, I might have to switch to something else if I want to try making it to D1 once kashtira arrives, I know they'll be running shifter.

Super Poly is just really good right now against I think every single deck except maybe Lab and Branded. Despite what whiners will say it isn't an auto-win card but it turns unwinnable games into winnable ones.
It's not particularly great against Tears. It triggers their gy effects and of their boss monster me is immune to it.
It's actually really good against Tears if you play it right. You either use it on their Kitkallos because the b***h is going in the GY anyway and you stop them summoning a Merli or Reinoheart, you can hit Tear names on board that already used their Fusion effect or even on a new turn with GY interruptions just so you can turn off backrow, Super Poly on shit that isn't a Tear name immediately in DP like Dracostapelia, Redoer, Dweller, Grapha, etc. I find it quite good.
Though I am also playing Branded so I do sometimes get extra mileage out of the card. Still, most decks can still play Super Poly against Tear very well, including Tear.

Kash is strong because of Arise's Macro and because of Shifter killing almost every deck. Without Arise they have no access to their strongest play and Shifter actively hinders the generic combo board by turning off Jet, O-Lion, Cupid Pitch and Savage.

You can't be serious when the original Firewall Dragon being an ungodly card caused such massive ripples between Konami and Gallop.
The relationship between Konami and Gallop changed significantly over the course of Arc-V's and VRAINS's productions, for one.
The ocg frequently had different card effects than in the anime, especially back when anime characters could just slap shit in face up defense mode and the like.
Konami made a shitty mechanic in Link monsters and didn't learn their lesson about loops after decades and instead of an errata they made shit worse for a long time. But that incident simply does not reflect on how things used to be. If you think the anime wasn't an important vehicle to selling cards you are a literal fricking moron. You have to remember that GX was anime original, there was no manga to draw from there so Konami was the biggest force behind keeping the show running. There wasn't any kind of formula in place, and frankly there was no formula up until ZeXal which was a soft-reboot of DM.
So the idea that the anime advertised ongoing product wasn't correct. Konami was originally making product as a tie-in, the anime was just an advertisement for the manga.

Pendulum monsters can be played as spells in pendulum zones. One of the effects is when it's used as a spell and the other as a monster.

Dragonlink is the name for the deck that uses all the various dragon cards in one deck. It's very good. Blue Eyes is... Pretty bad. And very expensive. If you make it, do it on an alt account so you don't blow all your starting gems on a deck you may not want to keep playing. Hopefully some day they'll do what they did for Dark Magician and add in a structure deck so you can make it for really cheap.

Keep in mind it's a bit hard to play, but that shouldn't matter until higher ranks. Just make big dragon pass. Might be worth looking up combo videos if you find yourself struggling.

Dragon Link is very strong, has a ton of extenders and is meta at the moment, especially with Bystials around which are dragons that can special summon themselves using your opponent's LIGHT/DARK monsters in the GY.
Blue Eyes is not good but that won't matter until gold, maybe plat rank. Best Dragon deck right now is Branded (a fusion deck deck with some control elements) or Dragon Link (a link based combo deck).

We're currently in one of the worst metas the game has ever had, but all in all, the game is very f2p friendly and you can easily make a top deck with the initial gems you get. As long as you stay in Platinum and below, you should be fine while you get used to all of the new stuff the game has had since then. Solo Mode also does a decent job in introducing you to the different summoning mechanics.
If you expect anything from that era of yugiohn no. If you want to learn an entirely new game where shit is usually decided in 2 turns go for it. You will always have meta shit to worry about but a lot of decks are more than playable. It also depends on how much you can tolerate Maxx "C".
there's a ton of solo content if you just wanna try it out before you jump into multiplayer, might as well give it a shot and see if you like it

If you've got it dimension shifter will auto win a bunch of games, huge blow out card against a lot of decks.
The field spell does it all for the deck, weather monsters only return when banished by their own effects so don't count on your opponent banishing them for you.

i ran evenly in runick, sometimes it's good, but sometimes you draw evenly on 3rd turn, go to battlephase, forget that you don't have 1 and it skips your entire turn
I've changed it to TTT and it's 100% better
