So yeah, she works well as a self insert character.
Rise did no brainwashing, that was Reino, he forcibly controls them to make them fight Visas.
During the Kashtira chapter Rulkallos fought Unicorn to help Visas but did not face Rise.
It's going to be Tomahawk turbo with or without Arise Heart. We've had fricking ARMED DRAGONS topping MD tournaments in the past simply from being level 7 to abuse Tomahawk.

Zone lock macro turbo in a best of 1? Surely nothing could go wrong. Though Konami may still release him just because making it so every deck in the game needs at least +1 copy of their UR boss monster is good for them.
Arise Heart at 1 makes the deck a glass cannon, ideally they ban diabolosis or shangrila because they can still lock enough that you don't get to play anyway. At any rate Konami will shit the bed so don't have any expectations

Is this design sustainable? The banlist has always been a tool for pseudo-rotation, but in the past year Spright/Tear/Kash/Bystial have been so overpowered they all get way more on the banlist than what has been typical where 1 key card needs a ban. Doesn't seem like a good idea to make an environment where sets like POTE exist where most of the relevant cards in it are on the banlist less than a year later.

Spright was not intended to be overpowered. It was purely by accident. You only have to look at their support spells to see the archetype was intended to be pack filler like Sprigans and Therion.
Branded, Scareclaw, Bystial, Tear, and Kashtira were the shilled archetypes.
Compare starter to equivalents in the other archetypes >Tearlaments Grief >Kashtiratheosis >Branded Opening
Tears are so strong they don't even need Grief, while Opening was so strong it had to be limited.
Starter is a worse Quick Launch that locks you into Rank 2 on your opponent's turn, meaning it hurts Masquerena and/or prevents Halq from summoning any tuner that isn't Formula Synchron.
And starter is one of 3 Spright Spells, being the best of all 3. Theosis and Opening are mid in Kashtira and Branded.

Red and Carrot are mid as negates, they are 1:1 trades and you have to tribute a Rank/Link to destroy. This makes Carrot the best since she can negate normal spells or traps with the least cost.
Konami did not believe that Spright players could shit out Mannequin Cat by tapping into Nimble and Frog engines, it was legit stupidity or lack of foresight in design when making Spright so generic.

No. They can still rely on some zone locking I guess but the real reason Kash is broken is that their boss is a macro they can play protect-the-castle with in a way that disables 90% of decks. So the high roll is zone locking, low roll/interrupted is Arise pass. Like how Tear can combo huge or Sullliek+Kit pass.

From climbing through dia and master this weekend I noticed spright (specially runick and fur hire) are not playing around it, prefering their garbage slop long combo into elf and sprind before going into gigantic, usually with red up because imperm is more common, if arise heart arrives I fully expect people to start playing around nib again
I was completely dissapointed by them when I made an alt exclusively to play it, its not garbage tier but its heavily dependent on your opponent's knowledge of the deck, and even then it fails to handle annoying decks like spright, lab, runick and dwagons, it also relies a ton on going second staples to not fold instantly to a decent board since two interruptions (one on martha and one on the normal) is usually enough to keep them from playing

Field spell is though, that's why I ride or die with just the one L1 in my scareclaw deck, that ED space is tight.
YGO is in such a pitiful state thanks to negates and unlimited interruptions. It's not even just the meta decks but trash like Naturia Bamboo Shoot or Ido or stun cards and floodgates. You spend a third to half of your time playing YGO watching your opponent FTK you for minutes and hoping you draw something that can just let you play 1 combo starter which is very likely to just be negated by Ash Blossom or Impermanence. Something has to change with negates and interruptions it's the only thing that would keep the game playable without ruining variety or depth

I dont think negates per se are a problem, its interaction, you would think this is a good thing, but the problem is decks nowadays are overloaded with it and you can hardly do anything about it if you aren't on those decks themselves

Even if someone wants to claim that Tear are well designed because they're an archetype that's 100% perfect and covers everything self contained, they still have the absolute glaring flaw of having 0 summon locks. Enabling stupid pile decks instead of the more toolboxy version they were clearly designed to be. Plus creating problems where they break other support like Tearlaments Sprind or Tearlaments Elf.

Runick doesn't have drawbacks, it does exactly what it's meant to do.
The problem is that Spright is too generic, efficient and explosive, meaning Hugin being a Level 2 lets Spright get access to full combo with ANY normal summon
Spright can start their combo with Blue, Jet, Starter, Nimble Beaver, or Rescue Cat.
HERO needs Stratos, and without hard drawing or searching Vyon, the combo stops if Stratos is negated.

Both Perlereino and Scream modify attack/defense and Rulkallos prevents other Aqua from destruction by battle, meaning you need a minimum of 4000 Attack to just trade with Rulkallos or Kalaeido

hitting the normal summon is a good way to go since if they don't have Holeutea, it's just Sera pass
after that you need to remove Sera and the field is justs a bunch of low impact backrow
If you're talking about Traptrix going second, removing the normal summon is gg 9 times out of ten.
When they go first its really just a gamble on whether or not a handtrap ends their turn immediately.
If all else fails you can just imperm Sera :^)

they cant activate the trap they set, one evenly is enough to cripple them since they can't do anything about it most of the time, the only thing you have to worry about is holeatea and pudica in grave since that is a special summoned monster banish

They made pend unplayable in best of 3 because in games 2/3 they could just lock the pend zones knowing you're on pend.
In MD ladder, if the zone lock version exists at all, people will be more likely to try and lock monster zones instead. Pend is almost irrelevant anyway so most Kash players won't be starting the zone lock on a pend zone.
It'll probably happen a couple times but the odds of someone blindly locking the pend zones is probably pretty low.

Even if someone wants to claim that Tear are well designed because they're an archetype that's 100% perfect and covers everything self contained, they still have the absolute glaring flaw of having 0 summon locks. Enabling stupid pile decks instead of the more toolboxy version they were clearly designed to be. Plus creating problems where they break other support like Tearlaments Sprind or Tearlaments Elf.
Reminder that Kash also comes with MORE Tear support.
So unless Konami finally take the kid gloves off and launch Kit/every mermaid into the sun, Tear will be even stronger in a few days than it is right now.

No, its incredibly easy to abuse chaos ruler and the milling aspect is very hard to interact with unless you're running full counters in your deck dedicated to stopping them, shit like imperm and ash can't contend mills if they're properly chainblocked or are unreachable in the gy
One thing is that as Tear lowers a bit in power level Bystials become worse, which means Tear becomes better and much harder to interrupt. The other big decks in the OCG right now are Purrely, R-ACE, and Labrynth which means Bytials are uncommon.
I mean, it's fun to mill. That said, as long as you hit your tear names, it's like the limits don't matter. As long as chaos ruler and the millers exist, Tear gets to do that. Also, Winda. People should have banned winda so damn long ago. I don't care whose waifu she is at konami. It's not a fun card.

full power druler in that era wasn't a true tier 0 because they had actual competition from spellbooks. full power ish tear had 0 competition.

You'd discard Eclipse Wyvern with one of the babies, then banish REDMD or LADD, banish Eclipse with a big, overlay for Dragossack and tribute summon LADD.

She looks like a generic shoujo female. She's an in between in the archetype where the other tear girls and Reinoheart do most of the work. She also got attention from most of the Heart boys. Visas saved her, Reino whipped and abused her, Rise brainwashed her, and Rium purified her.
So yeah, she works well as a self insert character.
Rise did no brainwashing, that was Reino, he forcibly controls them to make them fight Visas.
During the Kashtira chapter Rulkallos fought Unicorn to help Visas but did not face Rise.

It just depends on what you open and what build you run.
if you're running furnitures, you don't run as many traps and you're supposed to maintain having at least 1 set card to protect lady and shuffle through your available traps then you outvalue your opponent by clearing their monsters with your traps and lovely ripping cards off their hand.
You use lady's effect to find the trap that fricks over your opponent's deck. You then use lovely's effect to recycle that trap.
Imagine not playing tearlaments the most fun deck of this format just because you are butthurt

Is this design sustainable? The banlist has always been a tool for pseudo-rotation, but in the past year Spright/Tear/Kash/Bystial have been so overpowered they all get way more on the banlist than what has been typical where 1 key card needs a ban. Doesn't seem like a good idea to make an environment where sets like POTE exist where most of the relevant cards in it are on the banlist less than a year later.

Tears are so strong they don't even need Grief, while Opening was so strong it had to be limited.
Starter is a worse Quick Launch that locks you into Rank 2 on your opponent's turn, meaning it hurts Masquerena and/or prevents Halq from summoning any tuner that isn't Formula Synchron.
And starter is one of 3 Spright Spells, being the best of all 3. Theosis and Opening are mid in Kashtira and Branded.

Red and Carrot are mid as negates, they are 1:1 trades and you have to tribute a Rank/Link to destroy. This makes Carrot the best since she can negate normal spells or traps with the least cost.

I was completely dissapointed by them when I made an alt exclusively to play it, its not garbage tier but its heavily dependent on your opponent's knowledge of the deck, and even then it fails to handle annoying decks like spright, lab, runick and dwagons, it also relies a ton on going second staples to not fold instantly to a decent board since two interruptions (one on martha and one on the normal) is usually enough to keep them from playing

YGO is in such a pitiful state thanks to negates and unlimited interruptions. It's not even just the meta decks but trash like Naturia Bamboo Shoot or Ido or stun cards and floodgates. You spend a third to half of your time playing YGO watching your opponent FTK you for minutes and hoping you draw something that can just let you play 1 combo starter which is very likely to just be negated by Ash Blossom or Impermanence. Something has to change with negates and interruptions it's the only thing that would keep the game playable without ruining variety or depth
I actually don't run into negate spam all that much these days, I may play it (negate decks) myself sometimes but the majority of my opponents are branded or tearlaments still.
I dont think negates per se are a problem, its interaction, you would think this is a good thing, but the problem is decks nowadays are overloaded with it and you can hardly do anything about it if you aren't on those decks themselves

Runick doesn't have drawbacks, it does exactly what it's meant to do.
The problem is that Spright is too generic, efficient and explosive, meaning Hugin being a Level 2 lets Spright get access to full combo with ANY normal summon
Spright can start their combo with Blue, Jet, Starter, Nimble Beaver, or Rescue Cat.
HERO needs Stratos, and without hard drawing or searching Vyon, the combo stops if Stratos is negated.
It was designed to be strong in order to get people to buy the cards, just like every archetype designed to sell paper. They just made the jump in power way bigger than shit before it

Both Perlereino and Scream modify attack/defense and Rulkallos prevents other Aqua from destruction by battle, meaning you need a minimum of 4000 Attack to just trade with Rulkallos or Kalaeido

If you're talking about Traptrix going second, removing the normal summon is gg 9 times out of ten.
When they go first its really just a gamble on whether or not a handtrap ends their turn immediately.
If all else fails you can just imperm Sera :^)

They made pend unplayable in best of 3 because in games 2/3 they could just lock the pend zones knowing you're on pend.
In MD ladder, if the zone lock version exists at all, people will be more likely to try and lock monster zones instead. Pend is almost irrelevant anyway so most Kash players won't be starting the zone lock on a pend zone.
