Yes, just play an easy deck like Salamangreat or Swordsoul. There's plenty of new blood and you can easily build meta caliber decks from the word go.
You will feel overwhelmed at first. This is normal. Just take the loss and move onto the next match. Master Duel's greatest strength (aside from its generous economy) is the ability to just scoop and requeue. You can't really do that in paper.

The concept of keywords isn't that they make the cards easier to read for a complete newbie, it's that they let immediately know what that part of the card does once you know the keywords after a bit. There are a lot of reused lines in YGO that could be simplified by keywords.
Or at least like Rush Duels the formatting of effects could be clearer. Because every Rush card has a [Requirement] and [Effect] section.

There's no extra deck in MtG, so I needed to reinterpret their fusion mechanic as a way to cheat out strong creatures. It does need fine tuning though, I agree. I just never got around to redoing them. Having played the deck for a solid 4-5 months now though, I'm sure I could do a much better job on a second try.
I was asked to do Kashtira as well by the guys in the /tg/ Yu-Gi-Oh thread, so I'll probably give it ago after playing the deck some in MD. Unlike Tears which work well as pure blue, Kashtira I think will be Jund (Black, Green, Red).

Gamma is at 2 cause it's a lot more than a Maxx C counter. Especially since, if it counters Maxx C. You get a free Lvl. 8 syncro, likely Omega, who alone is more than a nuisance.

Cards like that already exist in MtG, and it's way worse in that game since
1) Special summoning isn't a thing
2) pretty much every deck runs some form of removal
3) not every deck plays creatures
So even if the effect was buffed to "neither player can active creature effects" or "neither player can cast creature spells" it's still not going to do shit, and will die to pretty much any form of 1-2 mana removal.

The wording for the cost matters, because in MTG you can attempt to cast anything as long as you pay its cost, even if the effect "does nothing" (In Yugioh you can't cast Dark Hole if there is no monster on the field, for example, but in MTG you totally can cast a card that says "Destroy all creatures" even if no player controls a creature). In your original wording you would be able to cast Reinoheart even if you have an empty hand.
Your activated ability lacks a colon. In MTG a colon determines an activated ability, which is basically a Quick Effect in Yugioh. Everything before the colon is the Cost, and anything after that is the Effect. Conditions are always put at the end of the ability. For example, you can make an activated ability to be like Yugioh's Ignition by adding "Activate only as a sorcery" at the end of the ability's effect, or "Activate only once each turn", etc. (see https://scryfall.com/search?q=oracle%3A%22activate+only%22&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name for examples)

The fact Tears came so heavily restricted is proof they never intended to sell them based on their power level. Their intention was to release them as they did: with Kitkallos as part of the package, and it will stay that way unless the deck proves to be far too strong, which currently, that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

We just need to kill Kitkallos, the data shows that the deck can play just fine without her.
The worst thing about Joshua is that he's got a massive hateboner for Tearlaments too. Despite it actually being an interactive deck that doesn't rely and floodgates to work, and presents a good model for all decks going forward. Yet thinks Runick is totally fine despite the entire premise of the deck being absolute cancer and pretty much NEEDS some sort of stun-like strategy to effectively work. Outside of that, it's also got one of the most broken engines in the game with Fountain. How he thinks that Fountain is fine, while hating on Tears that hard is bias at its finest.
If Tear Kash is in the new pack we will have at least 2 weeks between that and the banlist(if it even hits Tear) where MD is the first format to get Tear Kash on top of still having Kit and the mermaids not limited.
There is no situation that will lower the amount of Tear being played until Kit is banned and all main deck monsters are at 1. Even then they still break with Chaos Ruler.
It's my own fault I guess, I shouldn't have decided to climb past platinum, even the games I win against tear take like 20-30 minutes because they just don't fricking lose like every other deck.

Yes. Unicorn is splashable and banishes their Kitkallos face down. Not to mention Kashtira in its current state can still happily run D-Shifter and Fissure. Both of which are an instant win against Tears.

Festive fox is an interesting card that can work as a handtrap or just extension for yourself since karakuri already summons from deck, the gizmek have a lot of effects but IDK if they'd do anything in particular for karakuri as the monsters don't have the same attack and defense and they are more of a link spam deck themselves.
I need to spend on a card that might take me as many as 10k gems and an additional 270 UR for Rescue-Ace. I'm gonna be dirt poor for the next two months when the card finally arrives.

I have a branded and dinomorphia deck (expensive as frick) and i'm at 6k gems for the kash pack. I also pull at every selection pack (at least a single 10 pull). As long as you do dailies and events, you're pretty much set for every pack.
I'm not complaing about gems because I came from fricking Duel links but to be fair I started master duel got all the freebies crafted a traptrix deck and now I'm broken because you need so many URs for that deck + staples, 10k gems is not enough to make a deck sometimes.
I learned some weeks ago that there's people that dismantle older decks to make newer ones. Then when they give support to the older deck they have to scramble around for whatever pittance of gems and UR mats they can get to re-create their older deck.
It's mostly people with no self-control or patience

I've started this since yesterday, this is my current cyber deck. Are there any glaring omissions? I haven't played in years and I just put in some of the newer cards along with the droplet and Storm that I got from the special packs.
I also don't really get the Kaiju that someone suggested, I feel like my biggest issue right now is creatures that I can't run over and this is one of them.
There's a few odd choices but I think it'll be fine for now. I'd probably replace a copy of Chimeratech Fortress Dragon with something else though. You won't need it too often.
As for the Kaiju, its main appeal is that Cyber Repair Plant can add it to your hand. You use it to get rid of monsters unaffected by card effects or that can't be beaten in battle easily due to their effects. Ideally, you'd defeat high ATK monsters using Cyber Dragon Sieger or absorbing them with Cyber Dragon Infinity. In a pinch, you can use Chimeratech Rampage Dragon as Xyz material, since it's level 5.

The best thing it has to offer for a beginner is emphasizing the difference between activation conditions and effects -- DW cards don't trigger if they're discarded as a cost to activate an effect, but trigger if they're discarded by effect.

The 5 star solo mode Zoodiac-Glad deck is one of the more challenging because Glad Beast Anus is a strong boss
What Glads need is some non-hopt support or field spell that lets you plus when you shuffle into the deck
They have a modern wave of support that makes them a competent deck. They are not very good, but you can play them if you really want to and probably go up to Diamond 1 with a Tri-Brigade hybrid if you know what you are doing. The playstyle is nothing like it used to be however because, as you already guessed, battle phase shit is too slow.
I remember gong to nats with prisma glads and the main plan was just summon Gyzarus a bunch of times and kill the board. That really does look quaint now.

Yes, just play an easy deck like Salamangreat or Swordsoul. There's plenty of new blood and you can easily build meta caliber decks from the word go.
You will feel overwhelmed at first. This is normal. Just take the loss and move onto the next match. Master Duel's greatest strength (aside from its generous economy) is the ability to just scoop and requeue. You can't really do that in paper.

The concept of keywords isn't that they make the cards easier to read for a complete newbie, it's that they let immediately know what that part of the card does once you know the keywords after a bit. There are a lot of reused lines in YGO that could be simplified by keywords.

I'm no MTG expert but this seems to have massively buffed the mermaids and massively nerfed the S/Ts since they don't search.
There's no extra deck in MtG, so I needed to reinterpret their fusion mechanic as a way to cheat out strong creatures. It does need fine tuning though, I agree. I just never got around to redoing them. Having played the deck for a solid 4-5 months now though, I'm sure I could do a much better job on a second try.
I was asked to do Kashtira as well by the guys in the /tg/ Yu-Gi-Oh thread, so I'll probably give it ago after playing the deck some in MD. Unlike Tears which work well as pure blue, Kashtira I think will be Jund (Black, Green, Red).

The wording for the cost matters, because in MTG you can attempt to cast anything as long as you pay its cost, even if the effect "does nothing" (In Yugioh you can't cast Dark Hole if there is no monster on the field, for example, but in MTG you totally can cast a card that says "Destroy all creatures" even if no player controls a creature). In your original wording you would be able to cast Reinoheart even if you have an empty hand.
Your activated ability lacks a colon. In MTG a colon determines an activated ability, which is basically a Quick Effect in Yugioh. Everything before the colon is the Cost, and anything after that is the Effect. Conditions are always put at the end of the ability. For example, you can make an activated ability to be like Yugioh's Ignition by adding "Activate only as a sorcery" at the end of the ability's effect, or "Activate only once each turn", etc. (see https://scryfall.com/search?q=oracle%3A%22activate+only%22&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name for examples)

Yes. Unicorn is splashable and banishes their Kitkallos face down. Not to mention Kashtira in its current state can still happily run D-Shifter and Fissure. Both of which are an instant win against Tears.

I have a branded and dinomorphia deck (expensive as frick) and i'm at 6k gems for the kash pack. I also pull at every selection pack (at least a single 10 pull). As long as you do dailies and events, you're pretty much set for every pack.
I'm not complaing about gems because I came from fricking Duel links but to be fair I started master duel got all the freebies crafted a traptrix deck and now I'm broken because you need so many URs for that deck + staples, 10k gems is not enough to make a deck sometimes.
I learned some weeks ago that there's people that dismantle older decks to make newer ones. Then when they give support to the older deck they have to scramble around for whatever pittance of gems and UR mats they can get to re-create their older deck.
It's mostly people with no self-control or patience

It's tough to say. Kash is coming out and though it won't be full strength it'll probably be full powered for a while. Swordsouls is 100% never getting hit directly again so it's good for long term rank climbing. I wouldn't consider Spright or Tears safe but that's just my own opinion and tbh I was wrong when I thought they'd hit it hard two months ago

I've started this since yesterday, this is my current cyber deck. Are there any glaring omissions? I haven't played in years and I just put in some of the newer cards along with the droplet and Storm that I got from the special packs.
I also don't really get the Kaiju that someone suggested, I feel like my biggest issue right now is creatures that I can't run over and this is one of them.
There's a few odd choices but I think it'll be fine for now. I'd probably replace a copy of Chimeratech Fortress Dragon with something else though. You won't need it too often.
As for the Kaiju, its main appeal is that Cyber Repair Plant can add it to your hand. You use it to get rid of monsters unaffected by card effects or that can't be beaten in battle easily due to their effects. Ideally, you'd defeat high ATK monsters using Cyber Dragon Sieger or absorbing them with Cyber Dragon Infinity. In a pinch, you can use Chimeratech Rampage Dragon as Xyz material, since it's level 5.
So what should be the first changes? I missed like a third of the game's history so I don't know a lot of cards.

No. Even with the modern consistency buffs, it's a luck-based combo deck. The best thing it has to offer for a beginner is emphasizing the difference between activation conditions and effects -- DW cards don't trigger if they're discarded as a cost to activate an effect, but trigger if they're discarded by effect.

What Glads need is some non-hopt support or field spell that lets you plus when you shuffle into the deck

They are not very good, but you can play them if you really want to and probably go up to Diamond 1 with a Tri-Brigade hybrid if you know what you are doing. The playstyle is nothing like it used to be however because, as you already guessed, battle phase shit is too slow.
