You can do the exact same combos as the "better" versions with the only difference being that the "better" versions are way longer for 1 negate (the RDA monster) when you can just make triple tax every turn instead if you wanted to

It's mild mill compared to Runick. You only really lose to Kashtira's mills if you run blowout cards you can't win without in your deck and get unlucky with them getting ultra banished.

Not really. They turbo out too much interaction way too consistently, and shrug off multiple handtraps effortlessly. The only way you're realistically outing a full combo spright board is if your open a busted board breaker, which is the same issue that Kash has.
People need to just accept that power creep is a thing in every card game, otherwise you get basically the GX era where the game is stagnant and vast majority of the new cards just suck.

It can cheat him out, but again the opportunity cost is just too high. I can see it being a situational tech card, but Archfiend was like this close to being a really good fricking card. It's summoning requirements also aren't the best, unlike Chaos Angel which is basically a Link 2 with a white card border. Chaos as a formal archetype is too unfocused. Maybe one day they print some other archetype that is accidentally good with it. I hope so because I really want it to be good. Chaos Witch also feels like a card that could be good if it had a better synergy with the rest of the cards. Frick MD for making that a UR btw, gotta pay the shitdeck tax.

Man, this event just makes me whish even more that Chaos Archfiend was a more viable card. I love these type of Invoked Purgatrio-like cards that just beat over everything forever with big stats and have bonus effects. So cool. Just there's so many better Level 8s to make, Chaos Ruler in particular is so bullshit that the opportunity cost is way too big to make anything else.
I really want to put it in my blind second deck but there's just not any way to get it out. Eccelsia is the only light tuner I've been able to make room for and I don't have any dark monsters that can make up the other half of the requirements.
This why tcg is better. You get to actually enjoy and play out your wins. When people scoop in an unsporting way enough times they become known as that guy at the locals.

Just got back into MD after a hiatus (stopped sometime before Master rank was a thing) and decided to update my Branded Despia deck into Bystial Branded for the ladder. After tinkering a bit I think I have a build I like (picrel), though feedback on how it could be further improved is appreciated.
Questions of the top of my head:
>is Branded In Red still worth running? Feels kinda bricky, and I’m not huge on the Ad Lib lines w/ Tear at the top of the format. Most other combos that involve it can be tweaked for White instead too. That said, a the majority of Master-Ranked Branded decks on MDM seem to include it, so maybe I’m just missing something here.
>Bystial ratios. I only need one Lubellion, but should I run spares? And is Druiswurm worth including? Its removal effect doesn’t feel very convenient in a deck that can’t simply Link it off to proc.
>Branded Regained/Beast. They feel pretty nice against the large majority of decks (especially as a pair), though I’ve noticed some lists don’t bother with one or the other. Regained is really good in grind, but I have considered dropping Beast and just going for Lost for the Merc search.
No matter what comes, remember, that Blackwings will forever be the best de k regardless of what tier lists say as every tier list is wrong unless Blackwing is tier 0.
Vaylantz seems really based. It was fun stuffing all those upptiy Chaos Angels into the backrow. I should definitely build this deck even though I never seriously played pendshit before.

And they forgot to xeno lock either of them and Kash Tear became a thing. I can imagine a world where Ishizu never existed and Tear isn't the most broken fricking shit imaginable and ended up just being another really good deck that got reigned in with a couple good hits and that was the end of that and Kash never needed to be this overtuned Tearlament killer archetype.
They put an Xyz lock...on Theosis and Riseheart instead of the initial wave's monsters lmao

It almost feels like they never expected Tear to take off as strongly as it did and DABL Kash was designed at an earlier point and they just said welp frick it, make this archetype the biggest Tear hate archetype possible instead of Rank 7 soup and we got Arise-Heart. There's absolutely no fricking way that the Ishizu cards were designed by the same teams who do the rest of the cards, otherwise they would have seen what the frick was going to happen with Ishizu and Tearlaments.

Incredibly likely. Tear Ishizu is so much stronger than everything else that it could not possibly have been planned. Ishizu cards? Yeah, they're now Tear cards. Bystials that keep dark/light in check? Tear uses them to make Beatrice. Spright cards? Tear has a level two that uses them both. It's like literally everything ends up being Tear support.

Pure Melffy is playable, it's just not going to be as good as the second best deck in the game. Obedience Schooled, and Rescue cat with Joyous Melffys to un-negate them makes for strong turns. Not to mention Wally on its own is crazy. Rabby himself is even worth running because -2100 attack debuff from Melffy Staring Contest is nothing to be ignored.

Make Electrumite before Beyond the Pendelum.
Electrumite search Pegasus (but DONT add it back to your hand, you are locked from pend summoning non Vaylantz from your hand).
Beyond the Pendelum search for Kai-Den so you can pend summon. Make sure to place Kai-Den in the pend zone bellow where Beyond the Pendelum is pointing to.
Try to get 2 level 4s for Gallant Granite, you will normal summon Fossil Dyna at the end of your combo.
You can get spellcaster in grave for Selene by detaching from Gallant Granite.
There are lists that don't use field spells since the new spell is a better search most of the time. It makes some hands a bit clunky though and is worse going second.
It was fun trying to figure out what to do. At the same time, the tryout deck has zero going first power. At the same time, you could definitely get enough on the board to just murder going second. Difficult to play with the time limit though.
Even knowing what to do with Vaylantz I take way too much time with my actual deck, I don't even want to imagine someone trying to figure it out in here

They misplayed massively. There was no reason to chain DPE to the Duster, and no reason to protect DPE with Savage. So they wasted 2 of their interruptions for no reason. Which left them defenseless to an Evenly they had no business losing to.

Maybe the biggest issue with card design the past year has been lack of summon locks, only Branded really properly does it as it should. We've just reached a tipping point on slop piles where you get interactions like pic related.

The Horus cards can dump from deck and summon back for basically free giving you a bunch of free level 8 bodies with no summon locks. Plus Therions are level 8s so there's more synergy.

I started playing this game after asking yesterday about what deck I should build. I spent my first 10k gems on getting a meta Labrynth deck and all the staples I read about. Blue-Eyes will come later, right now its time to win.

Solo is generally a cakewalk until you get to some of the challenge duels using loaner decks. That fricking Bandit Keith one took me like 10 restarts because the deck you're given is so shit.
For your first deck, that looks very solid, but if you ever climb higher than Platinum, you might want to remove the Virus cards since they might become an advantage to your opponents if they're playing Tears. I also highly recommend one copy of Ice Dragon's Prison, that and Dimensional Barrier are the most important normal cards in my opinion.

You want three copies of a structure deck if you plan on playing it. It's really cheap for what it is, and depending on the deck the 3 copies of the URs it has can fit into other decks too.

People need to just accept that power creep is a thing in every card game, otherwise you get basically the GX era where the game is stagnant and vast majority of the new cards just suck.
It can cheat him out, but again the opportunity cost is just too high. I can see it being a situational tech card, but Archfiend was like this close to being a really good fricking card. It's summoning requirements also aren't the best, unlike Chaos Angel which is basically a Link 2 with a white card border. Chaos as a formal archetype is too unfocused. Man, this event just makes me whish even more that Chaos Archfiend was a more viable card. I love these type of Invoked Purgatrio-like cards that just beat over everything forever with big stats and have bonus effects. So cool. Just there's so many better Level 8s to make, Chaos Ruler in particular is so bullshit that the opportunity cost is way too big to make anything else.

Just got back into MD after a hiatus (stopped sometime before Master rank was a thing) and decided to update my Branded Despia deck into Bystial Branded for the ladder. After tinkering a bit I think I have a build I like (picrel), though feedback on how it could be further improved is appreciated.
Questions of the top of my head:
>is Branded In Red still worth running? Feels kinda bricky, and I’m not huge on the Ad Lib lines w/ Tear at the top of the format. Most other combos that involve it can be tweaked for White instead too. That said, a the majority of Master-Ranked Branded decks on MDM seem to include it, so maybe I’m just missing something here.

There's absolutely no fricking way that the Ishizu cards were designed by the same teams who do the rest of the cards, otherwise they would have seen what the frick was going to happen with Ishizu and Tearlaments.

Pure Melffy is playable, it's just not going to be as good as the second best deck in the game. Obedience Schooled, and Rescue cat with Joyous Melffys to un-negate them makes for strong turns. Not to mention Wally on its own is crazy. Rabby himself is even worth running because -2100 attack debuff from Melffy Staring Contest is nothing to be ignored.

Make Electrumite before Beyond the Pendelum.
Electrumite search Pegasus (but DONT add it back to your hand, you are locked from pend summoning non Vaylantz from your hand).
Beyond the Pendelum search for Kai-Den so you can pend summon. Make sure to place Kai-Den in the pend zone bellow where Beyond the Pendelum is pointing to.
Try to get 2 level 4s for Gallant Granite, you will normal summon Fossil Dyna at the end of your combo.
You can get spellcaster in grave for Selene by detaching from Gallant Granite.
Can definitely build that. Still rolling since I somehow never got the field spells.
There are lists that don't use field spells since the new spell is a better search most of the time. It makes some hands a bit clunky though and is worse going second.

Maybe the biggest issue with card design the past year has been lack of summon locks, only Branded really properly does it as it should. We've just reached a tipping point on slop piles where you get interactions like pic related.

I started playing this game after asking yesterday about what deck I should build. I spent my first 10k gems on getting a meta Labrynth deck and all the staples I read about. Blue-Eyes will come later, right now its time to win.

Ishizu shufflers are discard fodder for furniture and good GY disruption in the current meta.
For your first deck, that looks very solid, but if you ever climb higher than Platinum, you might want to remove the Virus cards since they might become an advantage to your opponents if they're playing Tears. I also highly recommend one copy of Ice Dragon's Prison, that and Dimensional Barrier are the most important normal cards in my opinion.
You get some spare gems, I'd also recommend you getting a couple copies of Chaos Angel. Welcome to the game, new Labbro.
