To my experience, trannies are turned off by Traptrix as they're afraid of being judged like with everything else. If you play Traptrix, then you put your own enjoyment over your image. That is a sign of higher self-esteem, and we all know Chad has plenty of that to go around.

my man, very few people would give a shit if you play Traptrix irl because it's literally the cheapest decent deck right now, coming in at $36 or so with maybe a $9 upgrade if you want to throw in eXceed. It's literally the best SD ever released, value-wise, since even though SDAZ comes with staples you need to throw in Despia and expensive Bystials to get it running properly.

Flail wildly until you end on 2-3 tax dragons, Red Archfiend Abyss, the trap that lets you shuffle monsters back to summon Armor Master, a quick effect pop in your grave and the in-archetype effect veiler in your hand. There's a lot of room for error so feel free to experiment.
I started trying to learn last night
Goal is to open Simoon, search Vata, dump Zephyros
Then you use Black Feather Whirlwind, either hard drawn or searched by Shamal, to special summon Vata back to make full Armor
then you use Zephyros to bounce back Black Feather Whirwind, special another tuner and Synchro again
Once you get the Level 6 tuner and 1 Black Wing Dragon, that is at least 2 tax dragons

It just occurred to me that I read this card all wrong, and I pulled it ages ago so I have no excuse. Is this just a really nice reusable ritual search?
It's one of my favourite cards but the reality is that it doesn't alleviate the problem of rituals needing 3 cards to do shit. I run it as a 1-2 in odd-eyes and occasionally use it to prop up the usual pend shit. But it's so hard to generate enough advantage to also get the ritual spells in hand, and make enough of a board to support it. Never mind using it for the grind game. But I don't have a drytron engine and drytron players seem to be able to cheat out just about any ritual board you can imagine so I'd look into that.

Maxx "C" is good for the meta, you can't convince me otherwise. There should be a setting to always start with the toggle On, two duels ago I missed a free draw because I wasn't looking at the screen and Fenrir spooked me when I had the roach in my hand.
Not all decks can drop a SP Maxx "C". It only works if you have a strong go first deck, lost the coinflip but opened it.
A lot of lower power decks will risk TTT simply because they need the draws or field commitment going second. If Kashtira went first I will save Maxx "C" for SP Shangri rather than drop it M1 on opponent's turn.
That's the thing, I have only seen one or two dedicated Kashtira decks and I got into Master right before they got released, everyone else is packing Fenrir and also shotgunning Maxx "C" as early as the Draw Phase to ensure they get at least one draw.

Because Lab has the ability of playing on Turn 0 with a good hand, Cooclock and Stovie/Chandra alone can net you a Lovely on the field with a handrip or a pop depending on what your opponent is playing, and the deck can also pack Ishizu shufflers and Bystials along the usual handtraps, so it has a good fighting chance going second. I've won a lot of duels where I lost the coinflip simply because I had very good hands to disrupt my opponent during their Turn 1. People also forget that Big Welcome has a GY effect, so having Lovely when your turn starts can immediately bounce one of their cards and the best part is that thanks to her, they can't respond to your trap activations.
I've been enjoying Lab, doesn't get hurt too bad by Kash which is mostly what I'm seeing right now

D/D/D, based Konami reprinted the vaylantz field spells in this set so I didn't have to craft them. vaylantz is ok if you don't fill the deck with turbo aids like dyna. I stay in gold until the last day of the month also
I play against bad decks so I go second and use the field removal and the boss pop, orcust xyz to Send, train xyz to deal 2k damage then go into a 6k multi attacker, accesscode, basically anything that isn't a synchro, they play extra deck slop by design. Kinda why I don't love them, they're unique to play but ultimately you spend longer to do the same thing most other decks do better. The field is really fun tho
Playing without stun you either go I.P avramax or appoloussa + arktos + dominator duke + either the archer or shinonome for a search.
It's all one big action but you get a non targeting destroy, creature steal, and a destroy or return to hand and you can do it every turn.
It's not horrible but the lack of negates means you fold to evenly so better to go second and either OTK or lockdown your opponent with what I mentioned.
That field spell reprint was the sole reason I went into the pack. I never expected them to be nice to to give both field spells I figured if they got a UR reprint it would be the fusion
I built mine with going second in mind which is fun still in the learning stages though so I'm not sure if it will do well in actual games

What exactly does Landorus do wrong? He's switches into a lot of physical threats and has a strong EQ/HP ice, but is very easily checked, so he's forced to U-turn out to avoid losing all his team's momentum.

Decided to go with going second Mekk-Knights. It's probably gonna be pretty shit, but honestly I like Mekks too much to not try. Though honestly I have no idea how I'm going to be breaking boards.
Man I built dinomorphia on the side after finishing dinosaurs because of that dino/morphia mix deck in the ocg. No Misc, Ovi is useless. Not sure what to run alongside my Dinomorphia crards. Might just max out on traps.
If the guy that was trying to build PKs is still here, I have some thoughts to add.
I stopped using Kagemucha Warriors and Tour Guide because they were too dependant on my normal summon, and Tour Guide was always shat on by Ash/Veiler so I was unable to do much if that happened. I instead started using the Adventure engine for a while, and I'm using Bystials/DPE engine now, and use my normal summon on Torn Scales to use its effect (if you're playing Adventurer Token, try to only use this effect after summoning it from GY).
Branded Regained will help you recover Malicious to use it up to 3 times in the same turn in conjunction with Denier's effect, and it also helps you recover some PKs in case you're playing a long game.
This deck right now is just a proof of concept and it bricks every now and then, so don't copy-paste it without doing some modifications first. I'm still trying to see what can I ditch or add to make it more consistent.
No worries, m8. I also blew a bunch of dust while trying to build a stable version of it, so I know that feel. That's why I only have 1 Lubellion instead of 3.
Stick to it until you can replace Tour Guide with Bystials. They do help a lot during this meta, and they can also help a lot as extenders or even just big bodies in a pinch.
Basically here's the plan: >summon utopia ASAP > if possible use barians force to summon ray victory or utopic dragon >play number wall and gravity bind so utopia can't be killed (kinda sorta not really) >equip with mage power and united we stand for meme levels of atk (when paired with corrupted keys) >maybe summon burner visor and equip to utopia to allow direct attacks
There was a version that was more bloated but I've cut it down, replaced some. Original version was a shitty deck I had irl and couldnt get a better one (cuz I was stupid).
If you want meme levels of attack power on Utopia just use Utopia Double and Double or Nothing. Rank 4 XYZ spam with Utopia is actually a decent strategy but your goal should be to equip a Utopia with ZW/ZX monsters for beneficial effects while comboing into Hyper Rank Up Magic to get a Dragonair to summon Hope Harbinger. Then once you've gotten control of the game, you can push for the kill with buffed monsters. You should use Goblindinburge and the Onomat monsters (Zubabab, Gogogo, Gagaga, etc etc) for this since they're designed as a rank4 spam support archetype. Marauding Captain was okay in 2012 but doesn't cut it, especially compared to modern support, and running a bunch of singleton spells/traps won't really help. Equip spells in particular are really bad, because if you lose the monster they die too, meaning you lose twice as much as usual to anything going wrong.
Check out the Utopia structure deck, it's designed to make Utopia a playable strategy after all.

Depending on the context, I sometimes do this too. Stopping Magnamut stops you from searching a more dangerous Bystial like Baldrake. Because Magnamut is OPT as well, if it's a turn where I have a chance to OTK, I'll definitely do it. It stops you from putting a body on the board. Likewise, it's also possible to stop Magnamut in future turns of I'm allowed to set up still.
Again, it really depends, it's not a clear yes/no, but Magnamut is the one I'm most likely to do that to as it stops your search. Even just holding off your search a single turn is totally worth it. But it really depends on the matchup. In a Tears Mirrors, I'm likely to just let Magnamut go through as stopping a fusion play is way more important. In Dragon Link or Branded though, depending on the context, I will Mudora my own mermaid to stop your Bystial. The fusion has been prevented anyway, and stopping your Bystial is way more important in that matchup than saving the Mudora for a mire hypothetical "what if" I have other ways of stopping.

Well for CYAC releases; Firewall defenser is really good in mathmech/cyberse combo.
Firewall Dragon Singularity is a great boss monster that saw occasional play.
I think I saw Cynet Circuit show up in at least a few decks too
Cyberse Sage offers some neat cyberse combo lines too. Sakitama is really good in mathmech also.
Beyond that Salamangreat is expecting support and while it seems minor on the surface it allows them to go into a link-4 with both of their backrows and Pop-4 + Omni + Recursion + Draw Hand Traps is just plain good. Kinda. No matter what you're gonna be reliant on cards outside the archetype and as with most pend decks your boss monster is basically just vortex dragon.
Gatlinghoul is a funny card Ladyange/Gentrude are amazing. And the deck has a surprisingly good time going second because pend has a lot of boardbreakers.
Splashmammoth is a funny extender when it works.
Seal Eel has seen competitive use as a tech card.
Guitartle/Lizardraw have a neat draw engine which goes well with ladyange/gentrude.
The problem is that even with that extra draw power the deck needs too many cards in hand to get plays going so you don't have the liberty of running 15 hand traps to make use of said draws.
It's an expensive deck, and it wants some darks. Titaniklad is very important and he's a dark, Garura is also a big power boost to the deck, Iblee and some other darks are also very good for it.
The deck's decent though. People just think it's terrible because they think it's Alba Zoa turbo.
I wish Tears sucked so I could actually play them without being a gay. I actually really like their art/gimmick, but it's not fun to play autowin decks.

Flail wildly until you end on 2-3 tax dragons, Red Archfiend Abyss, the trap that lets you shuffle monsters back to summon Armor Master, a quick effect pop in your grave and the in-archetype effect veiler in your hand. There's a lot of room for error so feel free to experiment.

then you use Zephyros to bounce back Black Feather Whirwind, special another tuner and Synchro again
Once you get the Level 6 tuner and 1 Black Wing Dragon, that is at least 2 tax dragons

It just occurred to me that I read this card all wrong, and I pulled it ages ago so I have no excuse. Is this just a really nice reusable ritual search?
It's one of my favourite cards but the reality is that it doesn't alleviate the problem of rituals needing 3 cards to do shit. I run it as a 1-2 in odd-eyes and occasionally use it to prop up the usual pend shit. But it's so hard to generate enough advantage to also get the ritual spells in hand, and make enough of a board to support it. Never mind using it for the grind game. But I don't have a drytron engine and drytron players seem to be able to cheat out just about any ritual board you can imagine so I'd look into that.

Not all decks can drop a SP Maxx "C". It only works if you have a strong go first deck, lost the coinflip but opened it.
A lot of lower power decks will risk TTT simply because they need the draws or field commitment going second. If Kashtira went first I will save Maxx "C" for SP Shangri rather than drop it M1 on opponent's turn.
That's the thing, I have only seen one or two dedicated Kashtira decks and I got into Master right before they got released, everyone else is packing Fenrir and also shotgunning Maxx "C" as early as the Draw Phase to ensure they get at least one draw.
That guy simply didn't want to commit, but I assume he wanted to summon Magnamhut in my turn, but I ended shuffling his GY Rokket with Keldo to deny him. It all went downhill for him from there.

Because Lab has the ability of playing on Turn 0 with a good hand, Cooclock and Stovie/Chandra alone can net you a Lovely on the field with a handrip or a pop depending on what your opponent is playing, and the deck can also pack Ishizu shufflers and Bystials along the usual handtraps, so it has a good fighting chance going second. I've won a lot of duels where I lost the coinflip simply because I had very good hands to disrupt my opponent during their Turn 1. People also forget that Big Welcome has a GY effect, so having Lovely when your turn starts can immediately bounce one of their cards and the best part is that thanks to her, they can't respond to your trap activations.

D/D/D, based Konami reprinted the vaylantz field spells in this set so I didn't have to craft them. vaylantz is ok if you don't fill the deck with turbo aids like dyna. I stay in gold until the last day of the month also

I play against bad decks so I go second and use the field removal and the boss pop, orcust xyz to Send, train xyz to deal 2k damage then go into a 6k multi attacker, accesscode, basically anything that isn't a synchro, they play extra deck slop by design. Kinda why I don't love them, they're unique to play but ultimately you spend longer to do the same thing most other decks do better. The field is really fun tho
Playing without stun you either go I.P avramax or appoloussa + arktos + dominator duke + either the archer or shinonome for a search.
It's all one big action but you get a non targeting destroy, creature steal, and a destroy or return to hand and you can do it every turn.
It's not horrible but the lack of negates means you fold to evenly so better to go second and either OTK or lockdown your opponent with what I mentioned.
That field spell reprint was the sole reason I went into the pack. I never expected them to be nice to to give both field spells I figured if they got a UR reprint it would be the fusion
I built mine with going second in mind which is fun still in the learning stages though so I'm not sure if it will do well in actual games

If the guy that was trying to build PKs is still here, I have some thoughts to add.
I stopped using Kagemucha Warriors and Tour Guide because they were too dependant on my normal summon, and Tour Guide was always shat on by Ash/Veiler so I was unable to do much if that happened. I instead started using the Adventure engine for a while, and I'm using Bystials/DPE engine now, and use my normal summon on Torn Scales to use its effect (if you're playing Adventurer Token, try to only use this effect after summoning it from GY).
Branded Regained will help you recover Malicious to use it up to 3 times in the same turn in conjunction with Denier's effect, and it also helps you recover some PKs in case you're playing a long game.
This deck right now is just a proof of concept and it bricks every now and then, so don't copy-paste it without doing some modifications first. I'm still trying to see what can I ditch or add to make it more consistent.

Stick to it until you can replace Tour Guide with Bystials. They do help a lot during this meta, and they can also help a lot as extenders or even just big bodies in a pinch.

I'd recommend looking up tutorials for whatever you're trying to do.
Basically here's the plan:
>summon utopia ASAP
> if possible use barians force to summon ray victory or utopic dragon
>play number wall and gravity bind so utopia can't be killed (kinda sorta not really)
>equip with mage power and united we stand for meme levels of atk (when paired with corrupted keys)
>maybe summon burner visor and equip to utopia to allow direct attacks
There was a version that was more bloated but I've cut it down, replaced some. Original version was a shitty deck I had irl and couldnt get a better one (cuz I was stupid).
If you want meme levels of attack power on Utopia just use Utopia Double and Double or Nothing. Rank 4 XYZ spam with Utopia is actually a decent strategy but your goal should be to equip a Utopia with ZW/ZX monsters for beneficial effects while comboing into Hyper Rank Up Magic to get a Dragonair to summon Hope Harbinger. Then once you've gotten control of the game, you can push for the kill with buffed monsters. You should use Goblindinburge and the Onomat monsters (Zubabab, Gogogo, Gagaga, etc etc) for this since they're designed as a rank4 spam support archetype. Marauding Captain was okay in 2012 but doesn't cut it, especially compared to modern support, and running a bunch of singleton spells/traps won't really help. Equip spells in particular are really bad, because if you lose the monster they die too, meaning you lose twice as much as usual to anything going wrong.
Check out the Utopia structure deck, it's designed to make Utopia a playable strategy after all.

Most Tears players would rather save their monsters from getting banished without thinking long term about the duel. At the end of the day, you still negated one of their fusions and messed up their turn.
Depending on the context, I sometimes do this too. Stopping Magnamut stops you from searching a more dangerous Bystial like Baldrake. Because Magnamut is OPT as well, if it's a turn where I have a chance to OTK, I'll definitely do it. It stops you from putting a body on the board. Likewise, it's also possible to stop Magnamut in future turns of I'm allowed to set up still.
Again, it really depends, it's not a clear yes/no, but Magnamut is the one I'm most likely to do that to as it stops your search. Even just holding off your search a single turn is totally worth it. But it really depends on the matchup. In a Tears Mirrors, I'm likely to just let Magnamut go through as stopping a fusion play is way more important. In Dragon Link or Branded though, depending on the context, I will Mudora my own mermaid to stop your Bystial. The fusion has been prevented anyway, and stopping your Bystial is way more important in that matchup than saving the Mudora for a mire hypothetical "what if" I have other ways of stopping.

Well for CYAC releases; Firewall defenser is really good in mathmech/cyberse combo.
Firewall Dragon Singularity is a great boss monster that saw occasional play.
I think I saw Cynet Circuit show up in at least a few decks too
Cyberse Sage offers some neat cyberse combo lines too. Sakitama is really good in mathmech also.
Beyond that Salamangreat is expecting support and while it seems minor on the surface it allows them to go into a link-4 with both of their backrows and Pop-4 + Omni + Recursion + Draw Hand Traps is just plain good. It's surprising how their strategy didn't change at all but the slight power boost made them semi-relevant again.
Salads are cheap and fun but most of the new support is gonna be for mathmech/soup.

Kinda. No matter what you're gonna be reliant on cards outside the archetype and as with most pend decks your boss monster is basically just vortex dragon.
Gatlinghoul is a funny card Ladyange/Gentrude are amazing. And the deck has a surprisingly good time going second because pend has a lot of boardbreakers.
Splashmammoth is a funny extender when it works.
Seal Eel has seen competitive use as a tech card.
Guitartle/Lizardraw have a neat draw engine which goes well with ladyange/gentrude.
The problem is that even with that extra draw power the deck needs too many cards in hand to get plays going so you don't have the liberty of running 15 hand traps to make use of said draws.

It's an expensive deck, and it wants some darks. Titaniklad is very important and he's a dark, Garura is also a big power boost to the deck, Iblee and some other darks are also very good for it.
The deck's decent though. People just think it's terrible because they think it's Alba Zoa turbo.
