that would require gamefreak to have to try to make good designs again... you trust them to make megas that aren't just "insert fan favorite" but better... we saw that first hand with ORAS. As much as i adore Megas, Gamefreak just cannot be trusted.
Nope, Mega Mawile was perfect, with Dexcut it doesn't matter if she gets a crossgen evo anyways since she's still currently unplayable and we have no guarentee she'll be in the next game either.

Hell if I know, but between the anti Mega propaganda that The Pokémon Company adds to everything they have a hand in, and the fact they they're actively scrubbing and retconning Pokémon forms from all rereleased media tells me they have something out for it.

Besides, it ain't like Mawhile having a Mega is stoping it from evolving, they've already added in new evolutions to Pokémon that already had super forms.

The only Pokemon media that doesn't have Megas right now is the mainline games, meanwhile in every non mainline title, Megas are given the front row and other gimmicks either aren't included or take a major backseat, i.e 2 forms of Mega Mewtwo playable in Unite, but G-Max only shows up in a single event.
It's like GF wants to get away from Megas but every other company that works for GF wants to keep them, and TCPI allows it.

Sableye is dark ghost, and is supposedly the version exclusive counterpart to mawile to begin with. And mawile is based on a japanese ghost so why?
If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably because of the "deceiver nature", with fairies being tricksters/deceivers.
Can't think of any reason for the decision prior to the Fairy type introduction tho.
As far as I'm aware of, I think they did it because is part of the Fairy egg group.
G-max mons are getting evos so the same option is open for Megas
