It's a strategy RPG, and every unit is potentially very useful given how diverse they function. You can of course, brute force by overleveling, and there's even a dungeon to help you skip the meat of leveling if you are just there for porn (don't use it, the game is good). There's also a shop element, so you craft and sell shit which is fun outside of the combat.
It's a Fire Emblem game on roids with porn and crafting/shopkeeping elements.
