i haven't played this game in years but i do remember spending a lot of time on it. going to download it again and replay it (never finished it)
it will be a nice little nostalgia trip.

i liked mdk 2. I don't think i played 1, i can't remember. 2 was very linear though, but still entertaining at the time
yeah i don't mind a linear game as long as it's entertaining.

Fun wild ride of perfect length.
Shiney had some great games. Never finished MDK but had the demo if the first level. interesting concept. I preferred Sacrifice.

I used to play this game with my dad when I was a kid. Totally forgot about it until just now. It was fun!
i swear this game had a gameplay trailer that showed it as being much more advanced than the finished thing.
It was like a cross between mgs and halo and completely 3d
thought of another example, the alpha footage of Wild 9 made it look like a much more advanced platformer or like Shadow of the Colossus . Ended up being a pretty average platformer.

That video is the intro that plays when you start the game. Maybe they used it as a trailer too. Most of the basic elements are actually in the game though:
>skydiving while dodging attacks from below
>ribbon chute
>shooting flying enemies with the arm gun
>sniper mode
>sniping the enemy in the eye (this actually works in the game on certain enemies)
>alert bot
Of course it's prerendered so all the graphics look way better than the actual game, but every prerendered movie from this era is like that. It's like saying the box art looks too good.
It's pretty funny how one of the 3 playable characters in MDK2 is this crazy ass edgy sci-fi cyberninja design and the other two are just a cartoon talking dog and bumbling scientist
