I miss playing on 32v32 isstant respawn 2fort servers with the old one and old spycicle and just bodyblocking 20 people in the doorway while being basically invincible
>cloak meter starts empty >can only be filled by dealing damage ala buff banner >backstab insta fills it >only procs if the spy gets below 60% hp >spy can attack/sap while it is out, but cannot decloak once it's active
could this fix such a controversial weapon? I always thought the issue with feign death was that you needed DR/escape to not die while trying to fake die, but it could also just act as a normal cloak with added DR since you can just walk at people and get them to proc invis for you. In this way it's like the watch version of the YER, you need to rely on flank routes and having a convincing disguise to get behind the enemy but you're rewarded with a cloak that lets you make a quick getaway once you've made a hit while making it difficult to abuse it's DR to win fights. Not to mention if it's difficult to use, feign death happens less often, making it more convincing.
No nerf it more. It should be timed. If you pull it out right as you get hit you get the best effect, the longer you hold it out the worse its benefits are. Spy Parry
stuns have always been cancer, look at overwatch if you want to see the logical extreme if stuns were allowed to be more prevalent
sandman should be annoying, not debilitating.
the slowdown it was given was simply the wrong change, it should deal knockback. On the ball and bat. >moonshot someone off a cliff >slap someone up a wall >send someone to the stratosphere and then bean them with the ball to fly even further
frick you it'll be fun
But I liked the effect 🙁 for me it was also the best bat (aesthetically looking) for my scout, so now to being actually useless it still hurts, I like your idea but because it's in valve time I'll probably be 30 when they review this weapon again.
I played pre-spy update a high level.
I played ringer spy at a high level.
Ringer is bad and should be removed.
Haven't played it since apparent nerfs.
Phlog is also obviously bad.
If they wanted pyros to get ubered they shouldve added something that synergized with medic, not given him his own fricking private uber.
Honestly the way I would rework this is that only the first hit gets the massive decrease in damage and then after its just the normal cloak damage reduction but now but it can be refilled and be used more often because most good spies use this as a way to play aggressively because the enemy team is aware that there is a spy and is able to play around it the thing about DR is that there are several other crutch Weapons spy has that make it overall annoying to deal with. >Spycicle should not outright counter Pyro at all it should only offer resistance to the enemy spy at reduced damage >Kunai the way it is right now should be dumpstered and moved to another weapon then turned into a new fun weapon for spy have it give spy a ranged backstab capabilities by having him throw it but it has to be recharged after a throw it can also miss and chain stab is no longer possible >new Knife inherits Kunais leeching weapon idea but its less annoying to deal with by sapping the spies health while its out and only giving him 35 per backstab in return it makes the spies deloak noise completely silent for normal and only slightly less loud for DR. >The Diamond back needs to be nerfed because its way too rewarding simply playing spy normally it having minicrits on backstab is prob the way to go >Cloak and dagger is fine >Letranger is fine >Eternal Reward is fine >Enforcer buffed made inaccurate kinda like the amby after its first shot (its a snub nose) Gives Spy a new mechanic called "Enforce" where the damage of the gun is increased by 20% if the spy manages to fill it up by shooting people with it fire rate penalty removed Piercing damage is kept >Big Earner no longer only gives spy a speed boost and cloak on backstab but also puts the spy into stealth for one second instantly >finally Ambassador buffed, crit damage fallof stays but can headshot after the first shot as minicrits -15% damage stays, can now be fired at a normal speed and only crit on first shot.
If you sticky spam maybe. But you literally just stated you like trapping with it. SR is better in that case.

every trap i set is visible to me the only utility i would get with the sr is being able to set traps on opposite entrances but then i have to worry about constantly checking multiple entrances
with stock i can just set it and watch one entrance not to mention like the trap i set up on 2fort if im watching left someone may also come in on the right and by me using stock both sets of stickies would explode getting me 2 kills

Explain to me how having 12 stickies to trap with along with infinite ammo is worse than 8 and ammo in need of replenishing always? In trapping, it's OBJECTIVELY better.

ScoRes is underrated for what it does, it's just so much more narrow than stock because it's useless outside of trapping.

the problem is that if you're in a position where trapping is your best play, you're dramatically hampering your ability to be flexible when it's time to move on; even worse still is that you're extra vulnerable while setting up your traps because you can't even det them. the scores is basically useless in direct combat due to the astronomical arm time the damn things have. if you plan on using it outside of jerking off in a corner for someone to peek into one of your traps, you're going to need to get good with your pipes
if the scores had no stat modifiers but just came with the alternate detonation style, it actually might have been pretty competent as an option, but as is you're super specific in what you're capable of doing.
my favorite thing to do with the damn thing is to lay out a fricking minefield and double donk people into the stickies, and the LC has its own problems

Alright this is a bit of a secret, but I will tell you. You know the grate that you can jump down from to get to there? Well you place stickies on top of it and they will damage players through the floor
You don't really want to play like a Soldier, instead of running or jumping at people you want to sit at midrange and act as an artillery piece or space control. Think of it like playing a DPS version of Medic, you're really powerful and important but people can and will frick you up if you get too close.
Sometimes having a secondary to fall back on is better than having 2 primaries. Demo is bad at upclose fights and he can't exactly switch to the Sticky Bomb launcher when his grenade launcher runs out of ammo in a fight.
>force the enemy to get stupid through sheer presence alone
People dont know the psychological aspect of demoman. If you cant predict your shots, neither can they.
I did play some pyro and I would always die before doing any real damage. Most useful I felt was playing Medic holding left mouse button for 2 hours straight. Game just isn't for me
I did play some pyro and I would always die before doing any real damage. Most useful I felt was playing Medic holding left mouse button for 2 hours straight. Game just isn't for me
Out of curiosity, how much did you frick around with the settings before dropping the game? The defaults give you like an extra 100ms of latency and 70 FOV
I always go through the settings first after installing a game. Lowered graphics and set fov to 90, also checked some options in the advanced settings but I don't remember what they were
I wasn't feeling it, game felt like it was explosive spam or snipers deleting you with little in between. This was on 2fort btw
Unfortunately the latency/interp issue I mentioned is something that needs to be fixed with a config or at least the command line, but at least you changed FOV and whatnot. >game felt like it was explosive spam or snipers deleting you with little in between. This was on 2fort btw
Yeah sounds about right. 2fort's shit, Turbine's shit, Dustbowl's shit, Hightower's pretty shit, unfortunately those are all really popular maps and suffer from one or both of those problems. If you ever give the game another try I'd recommend looking at Payload maps like Upward, they still have some nasty Sniper sightlines but it's not full-on trench warfare the way 2fort is.
>2fort
Yeah, not the best first impression. It's notorious(ly fun to some) due to cramped rooms, and being extremely easy to stalemate. Most people just treat it as some sort of endless deathmatch.
But it sounds you like gave the game a fair shake anyway. It's pretty hard to get into at first so I don't blame you at all if just ain't your thing.
This is actually a high IQ play. By convincing the enemy you're moronic they would never think you're smart enough to capture the point. This leaves it wide open for the taking.
at first i had always thought this might be faked, because the odd way the players freeze up at the end instead of engaging in the post round humiliation and running away. but someone said this is 6v6 so that makes sense i suppose?
>the scout cries out in pain as he realizes his game is dead

NOBODY PLAYS 6V6
TF2 was designed around 12v12 for maps where several skirmishes are happening at any time. TF2 isn't meant to be fricking Overwatch.

>They took Wrangler from you >They took Short Circuit from you
What the frick are you even talking about, Engineer still gets to delete projectiles or triple the health of his sentry for daring to give up his pistol. >They took GRU from you >They took Shortstop from you >They took BFB from you >They took Atomizer from you >They took DDS from you >They took Dead Ringer from you >They took Spy-cicle from you >They took Reserve Shooter from you >They took Degreaser from you
Again, did they? All of these are still fine or even best-in-slot. >They took Sandman from you
This one is true but frick that thing anyways, that was Overwatch bullshit in the wrong game.
Do you play Scout? Baby Face Blaster got made unusable by the jump penalty and increased damage penalties and Shortstop, while not awful, is a shadow of its former self.
Reserve Shooter was part of the Degreaser Pyro combo to airblast people into the air and murder them. Both weapons got changed so that Pyro has a weapon switch speed greater than 0, and Reserve Shooter doesn't mini-crit off airblast anymore so no there's no reason to take it over flare gun.
Degreaser itself got penalty to airblasts and switch away speed. If it's still best in slot for Pyro then that just means all the additions and changes only made Pyro even fricking worse. Degreaser+Reserve Pyro was a playstyle you couldn't have any other way in TF2 and it's gone forever.
Spy-cicle used to just werk but it got mangled for a long time where Spy'd just get the Vaccinator damage reduction bubble ruining his disguise. Dunno if they fixed that.
Darwin's Danger Shield used to make Sniper a 150 health class, now it just prevents afterburn damage. It's probably the closest any weapon has come to being "soft-removed".
Obviously not all of those weapons are unusable but they all took significant nerfs that at times just made certain ways of playing the game disappear.
>Do you play Scout?
I do, in fact. BFB takes 25 damage to get back to full Scout speed, you don't really need to fear losing your boost in a fight as long as you're hitting shots. If anything, bouncing back and forth between speeds arguably makes you less predictable.
I love the Shortstop and wish they partially undid the reload speed nerf from like 10 years ago, but it's still one of the better Scout primaries and still fun to use. Really idk why that one is on the list at all, it was nerfed a long time ago. >combo pyro
I'll give you this one, all they needed to change was airblast completely immobilizing you. The only combo weapon that really got fricked though was Axtinguisher, Reserve Shooter is still strong on Soldier and Degreaser is still best in slot because the Shotgun has been a better weapon than Pyro's M1 since like 2007. >Spycicle
They fixed the Vacc bubble glitch, it's maybe even better than it used to be now as an escape tool. >DDS
It didn't just give you 150 health, it gave you bullet resistance so you could live quickscopes. Not Valve's brightest idea there. I still see it all the time thanks to the Scorch Shot anyways, but I can respect missing the 25 HP on Huntsman Sniper. >
I don't mean to brickwall you on the loss of playstyle diversity, but frankly I think a lot of the weapons they nerfed had it coming--not because of compgays, but because they could be abused to make pub games less fun. The bigger problem is that Valve's moron push to try and make TF2 an eSport just imploded development of the game and left us with a shitty matchmaker, so now finding good matches is harder and we don't get any new things to try in lieu of the old shit they nerfed.
>overwatch bullshit
I wish I could kill any Black person that spouted this bullshit with my own hands
sandman was in the game way before overwatch was even a speck of an idea in anyone's mind
>Again, did they? All of these are still fine or even best-in-slot.
The reserve shooter is completely useless on pyro now and the degreaser and axetinguisher are shadows of their former selves.
The Atomizer, BFB and shortstop also completely suck
the dead ringer is still extremely good and the spycicle is basically the same as it ever was
the DDS is still an annoying, badly designed piece of shit but in a different way
GRU isn't as good but is still fine
Wrangler and Short Circuit are still fricking busted as hell
sandman is trash but that's probably for the best
>sandman is trash but that's probably for the best
Yeah I was there for the original Sandman. It felt pretty good to be the guy stopping an uber with a stun but if you're playing a fricking pub and denying ubers with a click as a Scout it's really not fun for a team to have a push botched like that.
I think the stun should've been kept as it originally was but remove anything about it affecting ubered players.
>The Atomizer, BFB and shortstop also completely suck
Atomizer is maybe Scout's best melee, it gets you extra mobility without having to Basher jump or use your more valuable secondary slot on the Winger.
BFB is fine to frick around with, about middle-of-the-pack for Scout primaries which isn't a bad thing. It's easy to lose boost, but it's also easy to get boost back, so you can just oscillate between speeds and be really hard to hit.
Same with the Shortstop, really fun weapon only held back by the long and frequent reloads. I'd be happy if they at least partially undid the reload nerf, maybe bring it down to 1.25s instead of 1s, but it's really not bad as-is.
This shit all started with meat your match and the entire competitive push, and that only started because morons actually thought overwatch was going to muscle in on TF2. Look how that shitshow turned out; one game was mediocre at release and degenerated into a pure unfiltered shitfest, while the other became objectively worse in an attempt to match it.
Competitive was in beta like a year before OW came out, and nobody knew Blizzturd would shove ranked in like two months later.
This is more so Valve being moronic with TF2 as usual, since the TF2 "team" was always a revolving door of valve employees doing their own thing under the supervision of old devs.
One of these half-baked ideas/experiments was to take some of what worked for CSGO (weapon skins, campaigns, matchmaking queues) and shoving them into the game because 'hurrr it work 4 CS therefo it work for teeth too"
After the success of GM/TB (which were dogshit but hey traders loved it of course so Valve took this as a good sign), they decided clearly turning the game into TF:GO was the future. What's funny after the comp beta they proceeded to ignore all feedback, pissing off compgays, and then decided to add a casual mode, pissing off the remaining 99.9% of players.
Then after getting rightfully shat on they put in some half-assed compromises disguised as "fixes" and fricked off instead of admitting they were wrong.
You have to remember that at the time there was (and in some limited corners of the community, still is), a MASSIVE push amongst compgays to push a competitive focus for the game. While it intensified when OW came out due to the similarities, there was still an ocean's worth of salt coming from the community due to comparisons being made between the attention being given to CS:GO and DotA, with the latter arguably being in it's heyday as far as eyeballs getting put on it thanks to the Internationals. Like a neglected middle child, the argument was that if they should get all the love and attention from Daddy Gaben, why can't TF2?
All of this would've been fine and good if Valve threw comgays a bone, gave them their autistic comp gamemode, and left community servers/casual untouched. Instead, they cooked up MyM, which included changes that frankly absolutely nobody wanted and were objectively bad for the game. Comp hated it because it imposed moronic restrictions like FoV, didn't include any of the popular item ban lists, and more or less pried control of how competitive was run out of the hands of petty tyrant autists and into the hands of Valve, who were never going to maintain it to begin with.
For casual, it was a disaster It removed team scramble/team swapping, which had it's own problems but was still far a better than the endless roll/get rolled bullshit you experience now. It also effectively killed most community servers. You can't even find certain maps being run anymore, the amount of lost content and community developed game modes is frankly incredible.
While it is largely a cause of miscommunication between autistic no-lifers and an out-of-touch company, to say that compgays didn't at least have a hand in what took place is pure cope. Every time a video game company listens to the 'pros' they almost invariably run the game into the fricking ground, and TF2 is exhibit A of this principle in action.
>For casual, it was a disaster It removed team scramble/team swapping, which had it's own problems but was still far a better than the endless roll/get rolled bullshit you experience now.
this is what pisses me of the most, every single casual match is a fricking one sided disaster. Team swappping could be annoying but it was understandable, scramble is a fricking necessity, there is no fun in getting completely stomped or having a match that is so fricking easy you barely have any resistance.
>SandBlack person lumps himself with weapons like the Ullapool Caber who didn't deserve to be gutted >SandBlack person has the audacity to claim Wrangler/Short Circuit were also unfairly nerfed even though former is still broken and latter was buffed
I'm glad Valve gutted the Sandman with you homosexuals still crying about it to this day.

These were always steaming turds
>They took Axtinguisher from you >They took Bonk! Atomic Punch from you >They took Shortstop from you >They took Baby-Faced Blaster >They took Darwin's Danger Shield from you >They took Ullapool Caber from you
The only unjustly nerfed weapons (You should've included the B.A.S.E. Jumper too.)
To be fair Atomizer is feels lame to use now that the third jump actually needs to full holster animation to play out. I don't think it needed a change to begin with, and 40 damage midair swings is nowhere near good of a trade off (srsly wtf was Valve thinking with that, I'd rather shoot at that point)
You're meant to shoot anyway. Atomizer is an uprade on stock precisely because point blank scattergun shots are superior to your melee to begin with, meanwhile you get a free third jump which is amazing for mobility even if you don't make use of it in combat.
this
i switched from the winger to the atomizer its a better utility for getting around
but if you wanted max maneuverability you could just use the soda popper winger and atomizer
>They took Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol from you >They took Atomizer from you
Black person both those things are complete upgrades on stock and arguably the best weapon in their respective slots what the frick are you on about?
Also axtinguisher is a good weapon, just not as useful as powerjack.
>Black Box >Concherer
Not nerfed in any way, Concheror is the strongest it's ever been, The battallions backup was buffed too, Blackbox now heals up to 20 hp from 15.
>Bison
Literal meme weapon that no one ever used and was never useful from the beginning,
It was even bigger of a joke weapon than trolldier.
inb4 muh penetration.
>BASE Jumper
Only ever used with Airstrike, for Soldier,
Also it's a shared weapon with Demoman,
It's only the nerf I would consider in this list and it's not even a soldier exclusive weapon.
>Equalizer >Escape Plan
Same weapon that was split very early in the game because it was actually overpowered, A low health running around at scout speed and one hitting every light class was not liked by many.
>Half-Zatoichi
Another shared weapon with Demoman, that Soldier actually never use, Because he has a million other options that are better in every way.
It's also exclusively used by Demoknights, In my entire 1000+ hours in the game I can count on one hand the number of soldiers I've seen using this weapon
Soldier has always been the strongest class in the game, and it's weird how he has been least nerfed out of everyone.
There is obviously bias for this class,
>Soldier has always been the strongest class in the game
Medic is the strongest most mandatory class for actually winning a game.
Scout is the best 1v1 class and can shit on Soldiers if no Sentries are present.
Demo is the most powerful killing class.
Engineer is the most powerful defensive class.
Sniper is a stronger choice than Soldier if the map is open enough.
Heavy is stronger than Soldier in defensive situations.
Soldier is merely generally useful in most situations. He isn't "the strongest class in the game".
>Scout is the best 1v1 class and can shit on Soldiers if no Sentries are present.
Only on completely open terrain and if the soldier has dogshit aim, If the fight is taking place in closed choky area, soldier will win 99% of the time.
>Demo is the most powerful killing class.
Demo is literally a weaker soldier with projectile arcs, no hitscan weapon, lower health and poorer mobility, stickyjumping takes way more off your health than rocket jumping and demo having lower health only makes that more apparent,
>Heavy is stronger than Soldier in defensive situations.
Soldier with Kritz is infinitely stronger than heavy, and a lone heavy is a free kill for spies and scouts even on defense.
Heavy is as good as a moving level 2 sentry.
Soldier is a jack of all trades, but really close to being a master of all trades.

Are you playing Junction? >Demo is literally a weaker soldier with projectile arcs, no hitscan weapon, lower health and poorer mobility, stickyjumping takes way more off your health than rocket jumping and demo having lower health only makes that more apparent
Demo can lock down chokes remotely and pump enormous amounts of damage into the enemy team with stickies, in addition to having the most potential mobility with sticky jumping onto health packs, this makes him an absolute must have on a winning team while Soldier is optional. >Soldier with Kritz is infinitely stronger than heavy,
Kritz is rarely even used and even when it is, instakill undodgeable lasers with no reload >dodgeable rockets with reload. >a lone heavy is a free kill for spies and scouts even on defense
How is a Spy going to kill you with your back to a wall? How is a Scout going to kill you when he can't approach you without getting shot full of bullets? >Soldier is a jack of all trades, but really close to being a master of all trades.
Well that's bullshit, he has the second slowest walk speed, spends 90% of the time reloading, a small clip, a slow firing speed, his rockets are slow/easily dodged and he has no support abilities whatsoever.

listed was just plain moronic and make the game worse
>reduced reserve ammo by half >rockets now deal full self-damage if an enemy is damaged by it >the addition of airblast >almost every single unlockable weapon has been nerfed in some capacity
mate, you're just fricking moronic.
now deal full self-damage if an enemy is damaged by it
No. Not if you jump, it still just does like 40 at most. The boots have their bonus disabled if you damage a non-spy enemy, however.
There's a reason every shitter still just aims down and hops if ambushed in close range and nobody carries a shotgun. It should actually be changed to do full 90 self damage every time you damage an enemy, imho.
Its a tradeoff, jump and take less damage but be caught in your own knockback or don't jump and take the full 80 damage .The former can be bad because in enclosed areas it makes an easy target while in open areas you are suddenly flying backwards and will most likely take fall damage unless you are lucky.
>can be bad because in enclosed areas it makes an easy target
You're already an easy target because in this scenario a guy got close and caught you unprepared. You can't become an easier target than that, the problem is that you have an unfairly reduced cost of getting out of this situation.
It's not a tradeoff at all. There is NO situation where you want to just *not jump* as a soldier. You have enough air control to always go where you want even if you don't look at the spot beforehand, rocket jumps at an angle do not cause fall damage unless you actually fall off of a cliff, and suddenly speeding up just makes you a harder target to hit, and you have full control over what, where and how it happens. You're moronic if you think that's fair in any way, it's just purposefully left in the game to make soldier dominate in close range.

QED. And to no one's surprise it was Pyro mains b***hing about Soldier, even with the ridiculous advantage airblast gives Pyro over Soldier you shitters still seethe.

Is every soldier main this moronic?

I play demoman ya c**t and yes whatever advantage airblast has is basically null when your moronic asses literally jump in gunboats blazing with a full overheal and jumping away as soon as shit doesnt go your way. I got half a mind hoping Valve nerfs your homosexual enabling boots to roamer status that means your ass gets no overheals or regular medic heals and you have to rely on healthpacks and dispensers just like the pyros rake.

I can tolerate he fact that he is generally easier to use. I can tolerate the fact that he is one of the most mobile classes while also sitting on one of the biggest healthpools in the game. I can tolerate the gunboats, the banners, and all the other shit he has that are some of the best sidegrades and unlockables in the game. What I cannot tolerate is the piece of shit Escape Plan.
>Dead Ringer >Spy-cicle >Tide Turner >Degreaser >Axtinguisher >Bonk! Atomic Punch >Atomizer >Gloves of Running Urgently >Axtinguisher >Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol >Wrangler
These are all either still viable, or actually still even overpowered (PBPP, Wrangler). >Reserve Shooter >Sandman
Good. Both of them could be used in a way that stunned the target for an easy kill, removing counterplay and taking skill out of the game. Frick them. >They took Pomson 6000 from you >They took Short Circuit from you >They took Darwin's Danger Shield from you
Weapons explicitly designed to counter one class were never a good idea anyway. This is a first person shooter, not rock paper scissors. >They took Ullapool Caber from you >They took Baby-Faced Blaster
These weapons were overnerfed, but absolutely deserved to be nerfed. Scout could move so fast with BFB that his hitbox would literally glitch to a different position. Caber allowed Demoman, a class who is extremely powerful at midrange but balanced by his closerange weakness, to blow up enemies who got close to him for no relevant downside. >They took Ambassador from you
Yes, that was totally undeserved.
>rather than the end effect just being to remove a ton of play diversity from the game.
If play diversity occurs in a way that lowers the counterplay of the game or reduces it to loadout rock-paper-scissors like Overwatch, then it can frick off.
Anyone else noticed how every class has been nerfed over the years except soldier?
The only overpowered Soldier weapons are Escape Plan, Market Gardener, and Disciplinary Action. All his other unlocks are balanced (except Bison is underpowered).
>Scout could move so fast with BFB that his hitbox would literally glitch to a different position.
no it wouldn't, if it did then they would have directly nerfed the speed instead of making taking damage drain boost
if that's true then scout still CAN move so fast that his hitbox glitches to a different position >Caber allowed Demoman, a class who is extremely powerful at midrange but balanced by his closerange weakness, to blow up enemies who got close to him for no relevant downside.
the downside was that your one and only weapon that doesn't do self damage in melee range now does self damage at melee range and becomes practically worthless after it hits once
it was only good for suicide bombing light classes
>the downside was that your one and only weapon that doesn't do self damage in melee range now does self damage at melee range and becomes practically worthless after it hits once
You are going to die anyway as Demo if a Scout, Pyro, Heavy etc gets past midrange. A melee weapon isn't going to save you unless you're targe demo or your enemy is criminally moronic. It was not a sufficient downside to balance out the ability to be lethal at midrange AND closerange. >It was only good for suicide bombing light classes
It could and would oneshot Medics.
>It was not a sufficient downside to balance out the ability to be lethal at midrange AND closerange.
you're only lethal against one guy in melee range as the class who's slower than all the classes who would even get close enough that the caber would be a serious threat in the first place, if you ever get in a fight with 2 guys you're fricked while with stock you at least can reliably kill most classes with 3 hits or a crit while a detonated caber needs at least 4 hits to kill a scout and can only barely 2 shot a kunai spy with no overheal
also there's a big difference between close range and melee range, the guys fighting you at close range have enough speed that they can stay in close range without going into mid or melee range >It could and would oneshot Medics.
this is something both a demoknight and a market garden can do too, one shotting medics really isn't that big of a deal
>if you ever get in a fight with 2 guys you're fricked while with stock you at least can reliably kill most classes with 3 hits
Yeah no, you're going to fricking die in the time it takes to get 3 hits on a Scout. He has a ranged weapon that already two shots you at that range. With Caber you actually have a hope of clicking him or clicking the ground/wall near him to kill him in one shot every time.
If you genuinely think stock Demo can kill someone in 3 hits with melee then it should be obvious why killing them in 1 hit every time, at the range you're meant to be countered, by the class you're meant to be countered by, is stupidly broken.
And if you can't understand it, tough luck because it's NEVER being changed back. >this is something both a demoknight and a market garden can do too, one shotting medics really isn't that big of a deal
Demoknight gives up almost all ranged damage for that ability, and his turning speed is restricted (or else he only gets minicrits). Meanwhile Caber allowed you to drop 2 stickies and zoom at mach 5 with FULL AIR CONTROL right onto a Medic at 90% Uber and blow him up, and there was absolutely nothing he could do to avoid it.
Market gardener at least requires you to land directly on your target from the air or bhop, instead of being able to land in the general vicinity like Caber and then walk the rest of the way to the target. But yes, MG is overpowered as well and I would fully support it getting some kind of nerf like 5% lower walk speed on user, it basically has no relevant downside as it stands.

>get 3 hits on a Scout
have you ever used a melee weapon?
stock does 65 damage per hit, scout has 125 hp
3 hits is only against a pyro, medic, or demo, plus it's the amount of damage a random crit deals which you will get more often than not because demo shits damage unless you're using the caber which means you get no random crits ever
and also all the classes that would realistically be in danger from the caber have the ability to stay out of melee range because melee range is really short while close range is noticeably larger, it's the difference between melee range (48 hu) and flamethrower range (320 hu)

>unless you're using the caber which means you get no random crits ever
You have a GUARANTEED random crit loaded, moron. >and also all the classes that would realistically be in danger from the caber have the ability to stay out of melee range because melee range is really short while close range is noticeably larger
You're trying to have your cake and eat it too. You're pretending that melee on demo is weak when Caber is involved, when it's not involved you're pretending it's somehow feasible to get kills with.
The truth from someone who actually plays the game, has played plenty of all classes including Demo and including using Caber pre-nerf, is that
(A): you would almost always die if a non moronic Scout, Soldier, Pyro, or Heavy gets in close range of Demo and you're using Bottle.
(B): Caber greatly increased the number of times where instead of just dying in that scenario as a punishment for his shit sticky/pill aim, instead Demo would blow up both himself and the enemy, or even blow them up and survive.
(C): As a result, almost every single Demo was using Caber, me included. Why? Because it was obviously best in slot and a buff to the class.
(D): Demo is/was already one of the top strongest classes in the game and obviously needs no buff.
(E): you could fly at insane speeds to a Medic with sticky jumper and suicide bomb them with 0 counterplay for the med.
These incontrovertible facts above are why the weapon was nerfed and why it will NEVER be changed back.

one guaranteed crit means jack shit if you're using a weapon with an incredibly limited range, melee on demo only has one real advantage over just blasting the guy with a pipe and that's the fact that it deals no self damage and it doesn't need to reload which the caber has neither but still has the shit range of melee
demo melee is only a threat to the same morons that complain about w+m1

the caber was demo's version of the third degree but there were no utility melees for people to use instead
>Weapons explicitly designed to counter one class were never a good idea anyway. This is a first person shooter, not rock paper scissors.
All three of those weapons still counter specific classes. And both pomson and circuit counter 2 each. Btw Darwin's used not to counter any specific class, it was just a +25hp. Now it makes sniper a tanky 250hp roadblock with afterburn immunity. It's like razorback, except pyro doesn't have an ambassador to remove 80% of his hp in one shot, something he still can do despite the nerf. And ambassador nerf was one of the best and most fair changes they ever came up with.
>except pyro doesn't have an ambassador to remove 80% of his hp in one shot
He does, it's called the "Shotgun".
But the DDS is complete bullshit, it makes absolutely zero sense for any class to have something like this.
It's not 80% of his hp. Shotgun has random spread and you can randomly just not kill him in 2 shots unless you're in melee range, where you might as well just use melee.
And what do you think about those other weapons that counter specific classes? pomson, circuit, spycicle, razorback, sapper? Arguably natascha and lochnload?
This man speaks the truth. Also, frick the nerf to Charge'n'Targe that removed afterburn immunity, and frick the buff to spy that made his default run speed equaled to the medic. Both of those were 100% unnecessary.
>complaining about Spy buffs
t. Pub shitter that dies to every Spy under the sun.
Spy is still so weak that he needs another buff even if they nerfed Sniper
I want them to just remove the ability for servers to turn off sprays altogether, there is absolutely no reason for them to do so now that sprays are off by default and are able to be deleted when you quit the game.
Playing 100 man trench wars made me realize how much I missed team switching, purely for the ability to spectate. It's just fun watching the chaos play out in full view and seeing what shenanigans players get into;
i miss being able to spectate suspected cheaters, it's way too easy to get away with cheating now if you're not a bot, most new players can't even comprehend the idea of real people using cheats.
>2014 >not early 2011 when the Caber was GOOD and Demoknighting didn't outright suck
2007-2012 was peak TF2 before Valve went full moron with balancing weapons in any future updates.
When I launched the game last year, it was literally unplayable. It took ages to get into a casual server and they were always filled with bots. I tried again this past week and while I still had to abandon servers every once in a while because of bots, I was able to play the game for the first time since like 2015
It's pretty good, the Vault F4 servers are probably the closest you can get to community pubs these days. Many of the people that play on the servers are regulars that will play at common hours, myself included.
There ARE fanfic weapons and beta/scrapped content that reasonably stayed beta in vanilla, but overall it is a fun experience.
>love the dragon's fury >think I'm getting pretty good with it finally >switch to stock flamethrower and shotgun because spies are getting obnoxious >score and kills instantly double
pyro has been functionally broken in every single iteration since qwtf
it's not the compgays who programmed the fricking particle system, and then made something even more non-functional than before (to the point where flailing around INCREASED your DPS). it's not compgays who created a bunch of convars for how to adjust the physics for new airblast and then decide to not use them
stop scapegoating, this is valve's fault.
Flames are shit (always have been) and airblast is strong so optimal Pyro is just running around with the Shotgun and using Degreaser to have on-demand airblast.
Did the latest update add any weapon?
And were the Pyro update weapons any good? I still don't have dragon breath or gas passer in my inventory and I have seen nobody use them in the pub games I've played today.
Dragon's Fury is like a sidegrade. It's for when you get bored of pressing W+M1 and want to actually aim shots out of your flamethrower.
Gas passer is shit normally, but it's God-tier in Mann Vs Machine
All of the Pyro weapons are bad. Gas Passer is the worst of the bunch. Jetpack and glove slap are memes. The Dragons Fury is weird, I don't think it's very good.
Dragon's Fury is powerful if you can aim the projectiles right. What's laughable is it requires better aim to be effective than what's expected of the actual projectile classes.
Its drawback is it has a worse airblast and you will get fricked against any pyro who knows how to reflect your shots. (And I mean fricked, because the crits you'll receive from reflects due to being on fire and the mini-crit you receive from it being a reflect fricking stacks).
No, it added a vs Saxton Hale mode.
Dragon's is kinda trash, it requires skill to use(on fricking pyro primary) and ends up being like 3% better than w+m1 with any other flamer. But if you miss once your bonus is gone and you'd be much better off with an option that can do reliable damage. To add to that, the airblast is literally the worst, like worse than phlog's no airblast. If you accidentally click m2 on phlog it does nothing or wastes your mmph, on dragon it's like a massive "I just disabled all my damage for 4 seconds" sign. Can't deflect spammed rockets, can't clear stickies because 2+ inside of each other makes it still only push one at a time, and you only have one shot at pushing a player away before he realizes you're incapable of killing him. It's also garbage at spychecking and afterburn only does a single tick of damage. To me it's just a weapon for hipsters that want to play pyro like it's a ground bound scout but do not actually like playing as either class.
Jetpack is cool, people are deaf and blind and despite it's pulling out and putting away animations being like a minigun spinup and the noise being heard over in the next server, you can still fly over people's heads and into crowds. I use backburner and it's effective enough. It also lets you attack from unexpected places, if you want to ambush instead of suicide bombing. It's nothing really special, and you do have to give up your ranged weapon for it.
Hand is shit, and gas is the worst weapon in the game, but a broken OP autowin button in MvM. Don't bother with those.
>reinstall tf2 after years of not playing >out of practice for fun classes so I decide medic to get back into the swing of things >teammates constantly run away from me, take medpacks while I'm healing them, don't notice enemies who proceed to demolish me >most games team is dead weight, 1 or 2 decent players and there's always at least 2 snipers and 2 spies. I can't imagine being a medic main, it's fricking awful.
yea
even when i use comms to talk to the people im healing they are still too moronic to do what i ask or even so much as help me when im fighting a spy
heavy players are the worst in this regard too

I also think it would be cool if when you die you could hang around the map with other dead players until the match is over. Obviously you would be invisible to the players who are still alive.
Saxton is pretty fun to play as.
As for what I'd wanna see, the usual new maps, let people earn score like in the commuity version (as well as a post game screen after 25 rounds are up), and a Halloween boss.
I wish they let the creator build on it, and hopefully, they bring it back during Halloween where you can play as the HHH or something
Maybe they could even work on a playable Monoculus or Merasmus

Frick I hate Heavies and Soldiers decked out in hundreds of dollars worth of cosmetics, with pocket Medics far up their asses. They're the most annoying Black folk in pubs.
Scout is my favorite class to play, but it pains me how I'll never get as high of a score with him than I do with Soldier, Demoman, or Heavy. Scout is really good at picking people off, selectively picking my battles, but I can't kill an entire team one after another like is possible with the aforementioned three.

i don't understand
Scout's head is lower than Spy's, so snipers have a harder time trying to quickscope you. Scout's model is also much smaller, making it easier to decloak without being noticed. Finally, your running speed doesn't get fricked over. It's not the best disguise to keep for a long time but it's generally useful in most situations.
It’s a smaller model which makes the spy just a little bit less noticeable. Effective strafing and movement can also be used to trick players in the tense fight (which is generally the only time disguises will actually work)
i messed up, i was replying to >Would I even recognize it?
game still plays the same, only with a lot more weapons (though vanilla weapons are still the best mostly)
but if you're a purist then you might get turned off by all the cosmetics they've added since then.
I think it's hilarious
pyro's combos got absolutely annihilated but gets a primary that actually rewards aiming only for that to get fricking ruined too
if it didn't suck I think people would really like it
Sucks since combo pyro was the only time I enjoyed playing him. The RS meta was gay but flare punching was fine.
Anyway all the b***hes whining made their phlog car and scorch spam beds and will forever lie in them.
Phlog + scorch shot has always been a lame way to play, even when combo pyro was at its peak of effectiveness.
I'd rather the phlog be trashed and redesigned into something interesting but if it's not going to change much just making only build off of phlog damage would be acceptable.
combo pyro getting ruined is the reason why I hate pyros now since now there's no advantage to not flail around everywhere
if I die I want to die to someone who's doing something cool like a combo and I want the spycicle to be countered by a good combo despite the fact that spy is my main whenever I play pyro I still do combos out of habit
It's fun and good but I wiff my shots and die in situations where if I had a normal flamethrower I'd have cleared house more often than I will ever admit
its trash because of the moronic requirement of hitting dead center for the bonus damage gimmick to actually trigger, remove that and maybe shrink the overall projectile by 30% and it becomes god-tier for pyro and would make him actually fun to play as and against
also remove the ability for the projectile to be reflected and deleted by short circuits, that shit is incredibly fricking moronic
It's good on it's own, but I wish it didn't come with Valve making basically every flamethrower fricking worthless as a primary.
And then almost immediately a week later the Dragon's Fury was nerfed in MvM because pyro was somewhat functional and not 90% tank squatter.
And then a couple months later the Dragon's Fury got nerfed again since Valve hadn't stopped listening to comp players crying about >muh unbawanced weapons because they died to the hots fireguy
It's still pretty decent by Pyro Primary standards, which isn't saying a lot since most of them are pretty useless on their own.
Provide sources that the competitive community is responsible for the nerfing of DF. You can't, because it never happened. It was pubber whining as usual.
>weapon nerfed because pyro finally had a weapon he could go monkey mode with and kill his enemies toe to toe from a decent range. >casual crowd collectively shits its pants because Now the pyros are killing them en masse with a pricing projectile that could clear rooms if aimed right >it had no crits >it takes several hits to die from it >its still weaker then a demoman pipe sans afterburn >afterburn damage is weak at the start >cant reflect effectively with it its either one or the other. >the sheer buthurt from scouts dying in two fricking shots >medics crying because pyros could literally single them out in crowded rooms and demolish them because you cant stop a spear
Yeah I understand why it was nerfed its because it put pyro on par with everyone else and that shit pissed everyone off even tho it rewards aim and followups but the frickin issue with it now is that the difficulty of use doesnt match the damage, its literally TOO weak to be used as an effective primary ive had too situations where Iam fighting scouts and I land my two shots needed only for them to kill me within the last 5 seconds of him being alive or he gets a heal just in time from one source or another and its even worse on overhealed targets
It's fun but almost never as effective as just W+M1'ing with stock or stomping with phlog which is sad because this is Pyro's most mechanically interesting primary.
>will never kill an enemy on the first hit because its max is 25 >3 shots from the dragon's fury combo does basically the same as 2 shots from the shotguns
I play Detonator Pyro and every time I see a health pack I'll walk over it and do a little detojump. It's not so much that I should heal, but that others should not.
All i want is for the Liberty Launcher to have more knockback because lower dmg = less knockback which is stupid on a rocket launcher which is supposed to be used for juggling.
On an unrelated note, Mantreads should always do max force rocket jumps. That way they can compare to the gunboats (imagine a side-way rocket jump but at the force of a c-tap jump or imagine a c-tap jump but you don't have to time it).
This is a situation that never happens.
It's like when soldier mains claim they're "trading health for mobility"
The frick they are, they're seconds from eating all the fricking ammo and healthkits on the map.
Concheror is dumb but every time I see BB+Conch I'm just grateful they're not using the stock rocket launcher instead. Seriously, Black Box is massively overrated post-nerf, you don't get +45 a rocket for shooting chokepoints anymore. You'd much rather just have the extra rocket.
Scout: >Don't jump until a Soldier has already shot his rocket at you. Otherwise, jump all the time in every other encounter and spaz out with WASD >Abuse corners, run from fights you can't win >Swap class if the enemy has a Sentry+decent engie at the back of a room, there's literally nothing you can do
Soldier >Learn the most basic rocket jumps, they're very useful >Don't feed rockets to Pyros. Use your Shotgun
Pyro >change class
Demo >Spam stickies, they are insanely strong >Your most effective zone is midrange, avoid being in close or long range fights, stay just behind other teammates
Heavy >Turn around occasionally when not in combat to catch out spies >Use GRU to reach the frontline and Sandvich to heal yourself and your med
Engie >Don't bother building unless your team is forming a buffer and will keep you safe >Think about where the enemy is coming from and maybe put your Sentry in spots to surprise them
Medic >Don't be a hero, preserve your Uber, stay behind corners healing when possible >Learn to surf damage and you can escape soldiers/demos
Sniper >Click heads good from far away but make sure you're not being too useless
Spy >Don't use your disguise outside the enemy spawn, freshly spawned players get wallhacks >don't rely on disguises too much, try to just decloak behind distracted players instead
General >never stand still, never run in a straight line at an enemy, use your jump and A/D keys when fighting, remember the objective
Valve is working on something TF2 related, right? It's only a matter of time before they release the heavy update, or the game gets ported to source 2, or we get a whole new sequel, r-right?
I have heard rumours that TF2 might be getting 64-bit, which would improve performance somewhat.
A source2 port would be a waste of time and an enormous amount of effort. A sequel would be great though.
>A source2 port would be a waste of time and an enormous amount of effort.
It wouldn't exactly, a pretty significant issue with tf2 going forward is how old the SDK is and microsoft being dickheads about it.
Plus Vscript is forwards compatible with Source 2
do you not know how valve works ??? >fans make thing >thing sucessful has effort put into it >Valve hires said team because the effort and work has been already done for them and they get to look good >these dudes have already said if possible they'd be able to port the store to the game.
The only real monkeys paw here is that these dudes might be pozzed because they still have this as their discord icon which means our freedoms of speech might be threatened
FaN is stupidly counter intuitive. You're a class who kills people by shooting them up close. You don't want to fling them miles away where you'll do less damage, you want them dead. With Scattergun, two shots kills every class except Heavy.
Soda Popper is almost a straight upgrade from FaN. The only worse Scout primary is Back Scatter.
Back in the day, when Valve used to update the tf2 blog regularly, I vividly remember thinking both the fan and razorback were joke weapons when they were first announced. As in, they were some fan made shit that Valve put on their blog the guard dog class. They seemed so badly designed I was surprised when they were actually real.
Well the issue with your line of reasoning there is that you've made the mistake of not knowing the FaN uses air blast mechanics, and it USED to send people into a predictable path for the followup shot.
However now it just puts people into blast strafe.
Which you know, honestly a fair mistake to make since it's been so long since we've had the good airblast mechanics.
>>Well the issue with your line of reasoning there is that you've made the mistake of not knowing the FaN uses air blast mechanics, and it USED to send people into a predictable path for the followup shot. >The problem with saying its bad now is...
its bad now
???
>It's bad now
It really isn't, now you just use it for burst damage, in enclosed spaces, since putting an enemy gamer into blast strafe puts you at a disadvantage.
And the Soda Popper
the fan is fun as frick and the perfect amount of cartoony for tf2. you just have to have an idea for their trajectory and its not hard once you get the hang of it, also try to blast people into the corners of enclosed spaces just like pyros do. another thing is the knockback can sometimes be beneficial because in reality you wont win every fight and also it tends to throw off peoples aim. just finish with secondary if the first 2 didnt do it but pushed them around.

Funniest shit that has happened to me last month. Random crits are fair and balanced.
I don't want to do any Overwatch shit flinging, but I recently played a match of it and couldn't believe how poorly the game communicates what is happening to the player compared to TF2. Even with TF2 becoming a shitshow with all the cosmetics it introduced, I never feel confused by what is coming at me. There's so many ways based on sound and sight to tell what is attacking you. It's a real testament to how well designed the game is that even with a coat of lime green paint over it it's still so understandable.
how the frick do people keep getting lost there are signs fricking everywhere and a fricking map in both spawns as well as an instructional video before you can start playing it
people are extremely dumb and have gotten even dumber in the past 10 years. this is the same reason that payload is so popular now : there's no thinking, you just walk along a path and shoot at the bad men
>install tf2 >Casual >Bots >frick. >join community server >Everyone calling each other a Black person and having fun >Let's all do a melee fight all red vs blue get ready and have a melee only fight
I'm back...
doesn't need fixing. there's no way to turn it into an actually good map without completely changing it from the ground up so it might as well be left alone as the fun frick around sandbox it's been since the beginning, like hightower
Make every hallways slightly smaller to enourage chokepoint chaos, put a slight ramp and some cover in the room outside of main spawn so spawncamping is easier, reduce every healthpack to a small one except for (one new healthpack also placed outside of main spawn) to encourage teamwork and medic play.
Frontier isn't that bad, although that's only because the real shitshow is in the warehouse before last.
Maybe Pier too but only because that map is so fricking big that everyone is just tired by the time the cart actually reaches last.
Black person
CHANGE IT BACK
>literal godmode is somehow less annoying than half-godmode and speed boost
I don't get it
You could block him before
>crutchringer
Take the invis pill you scrub
You will NEVER be a woman
it was a crutch but it also wasn't that strong
I miss playing on 32v32 isstant respawn 2fort servers with the old one and old spycicle and just bodyblocking 20 people in the doorway while being basically invincible
24/7 2fort was the best
>webm
should've PUSHED THE CART
>virgin streamer sniper vs chad oblivious f2p heavy just doing his duty
This. He's such a moron.
Every version of it is pure cancer. It needs to be erased outright
>cloak meter starts empty
>can only be filled by dealing damage ala buff banner
>backstab insta fills it
>only procs if the spy gets below 60% hp
>spy can attack/sap while it is out, but cannot decloak once it's active
could this fix such a controversial weapon? I always thought the issue with feign death was that you needed DR/escape to not die while trying to fake die, but it could also just act as a normal cloak with added DR since you can just walk at people and get them to proc invis for you. In this way it's like the watch version of the YER, you need to rely on flank routes and having a convincing disguise to get behind the enemy but you're rewarded with a cloak that lets you make a quick getaway once you've made a hit while making it difficult to abuse it's DR to win fights. Not to mention if it's difficult to use, feign death happens less often, making it more convincing.
I unironically prefer the current dead ringer because of the speed boost.
It has always had a speed boost, newhomosexual.
No it didn't moron.
>zoom away
>so predictable hit with a flare a second later
>Lmao immune to afterburn because frick you
>-2
>red medic bubble
The idiot who made this doesn't even play the game
this
>red medic bubble
I think that's part of the joke.
No nerf it more. It should be timed. If you pull it out right as you get hit you get the best effect, the longer you hold it out the worse its benefits are. Spy Parry
Yeah but the sandman suffered more, It's so moronic that to this day they removed the stun because homosexuals were pissy that they're bad
stuns have always been cancer, look at overwatch if you want to see the logical extreme if stuns were allowed to be more prevalent
sandman should be annoying, not debilitating.
the slowdown it was given was simply the wrong change, it should deal knockback. On the ball and bat.
>moonshot someone off a cliff
>slap someone up a wall
>send someone to the stratosphere and then bean them with the ball to fly even further
frick you it'll be fun
But I liked the effect 🙁 for me it was also the best bat (aesthetically looking) for my scout, so now to being actually useless it still hurts, I like your idea but because it's in valve time I'll probably be 30 when they review this weapon again.
I played pre-spy update a high level.
I played ringer spy at a high level.
Ringer is bad and should be removed.
Haven't played it since apparent nerfs.
Phlog is also obviously bad.
If they wanted pyros to get ubered they shouldve added something that synergized with medic, not given him his own fricking private uber.
launch dead ringer was the most amazingly broken shit ever, I miss it so much
Honestly the way I would rework this is that only the first hit gets the massive decrease in damage and then after its just the normal cloak damage reduction but now but it can be refilled and be used more often because most good spies use this as a way to play aggressively because the enemy team is aware that there is a spy and is able to play around it the thing about DR is that there are several other crutch Weapons spy has that make it overall annoying to deal with.
>Spycicle should not outright counter Pyro at all it should only offer resistance to the enemy spy at reduced damage
>Kunai the way it is right now should be dumpstered and moved to another weapon then turned into a new fun weapon for spy have it give spy a ranged backstab capabilities by having him throw it but it has to be recharged after a throw it can also miss and chain stab is no longer possible
>new Knife inherits Kunais leeching weapon idea but its less annoying to deal with by sapping the spies health while its out and only giving him 35 per backstab in return it makes the spies deloak noise completely silent for normal and only slightly less loud for DR.
>The Diamond back needs to be nerfed because its way too rewarding simply playing spy normally it having minicrits on backstab is prob the way to go
>Cloak and dagger is fine
>Letranger is fine
>Eternal Reward is fine
>Enforcer buffed made inaccurate kinda like the amby after its first shot (its a snub nose) Gives Spy a new mechanic called "Enforce" where the damage of the gun is increased by 20% if the spy manages to fill it up by shooting people with it fire rate penalty removed Piercing damage is kept
>Big Earner no longer only gives spy a speed boost and cloak on backstab but also puts the spy into stealth for one second instantly
>finally Ambassador buffed, crit damage fallof stays but can headshot after the first shot as minicrits -15% damage stays, can now be fired at a normal speed and only crit on first shot.
We can't allow Valve(tm) favorite class Sniper to suffer from the hands of spies anymore!
i still dont get why they added such a generous after burn to this

WAIT SCOUT I CAN HELP YOU!

>CHEERS MATE!
This is why I stopped playing Demo. I can't aim for shit.
See...Demoman does take skill
You try and miss every single of one of those shots.
Thats 6s footage and i know “ew 6s” but in 6s demo is genuinely the hardest class to play
i agree completely, but you could also argue demoman is just luck, and this is just a case where he missed all his luckshots
Average Chadman player.
Whats the point of playing Demoman if your role is just being a Soldier with a slower, shittier weapon ?
set sticky traps and make the other team seethe
my favorite spot is pic rel
>not using scottish resistance
only good in mvm
stock is the best in every other situation
If you sticky spam maybe. But you literally just stated you like trapping with it. SR is better in that case.
every trap i set is visible to me the only utility i would get with the sr is being able to set traps on opposite entrances but then i have to worry about constantly checking multiple entrances
with stock i can just set it and watch one entrance not to mention like the trap i set up on 2fort if im watching left someone may also come in on the right and by me using stock both sets of stickies would explode getting me 2 kills
You're just using it wrong/badly. SR is ideal for trapping scenarios.
sounds like cope to me tbh im sticking with stock just because you have an unlock doesnt mean its better
SR is the best defensive sticky launcher, but the caveat is that it's awful beyond that and thus not as versatile as stock stickies
Explain to me how having 12 stickies to trap with along with infinite ammo is worse than 8 and ammo in need of replenishing always? In trapping, it's OBJECTIVELY better.
slower arm time is the dealbreaker
Shouldn't be a problem when playing defense. Also, it's 14, not 12 stickies you can have out. Even more than I thought
idk man still not werf for me but then again i only have 200 hours on demo i main engie
>able to destroy enemy stickybombs
as a newbie moron I always tried to right click the enemy bombs and wondered why it wasn't working
ScoRes is underrated for what it does, it's just so much more narrow than stock because it's useless outside of trapping.
the problem is that if you're in a position where trapping is your best play, you're dramatically hampering your ability to be flexible when it's time to move on; even worse still is that you're extra vulnerable while setting up your traps because you can't even det them. the scores is basically useless in direct combat due to the astronomical arm time the damn things have. if you plan on using it outside of jerking off in a corner for someone to peek into one of your traps, you're going to need to get good with your pipes
if the scores had no stat modifiers but just came with the alternate detonation style, it actually might have been pretty competent as an option, but as is you're super specific in what you're capable of doing.
my favorite thing to do with the damn thing is to lay out a fricking minefield and double donk people into the stickies, and the LC has its own problems
>wall of text

>low attention span homosexual
All of 2fort is just chokepoints for sticky traps
Alright this is a bit of a secret, but I will tell you. You know the grate that you can jump down from to get to there? Well you place stickies on top of it and they will damage players through the floor
noob spot
sad!
spamming chokepoints to kill the enemy team as they run back
You don't really want to play like a Soldier, instead of running or jumping at people you want to sit at midrange and act as an artillery piece or space control. Think of it like playing a DPS version of Medic, you're really powerful and important but people can and will frick you up if you get too close.
ask me how I know you've been kritzd as demo and whiffed all 12 of your stickies and pipes
>thinking the the stickybomb launcher is worse than the rocket launcher
>Everyone responding to this question in good faith when Demoman is a Soldier with two primaries
Sometimes having a secondary to fall back on is better than having 2 primaries. Demo is bad at upclose fights and he can't exactly switch to the Sticky Bomb launcher when his grenade launcher runs out of ammo in a fight.
You're supposed to use the stickies first, the grenades are you back up option
you mean a stronger, better weapon?

Demoman: 4 Pills, 8 Stickies

The way the red medic majestically dies on point always gets me.
In the 5 hours I played TF2 before uninstalling this was literally me
Try again. Play Pyro this time.
>Lowered graphics
how bad is your pc lol
just install masterconfig man and edit your launch options
All in a day's work.
This is actually a high IQ play. By convincing the enemy you're moronic they would never think you're smart enough to capture the point. This leaves it wide open for the taking.
1000 IQ play. Be so useless that they ignore you over high priority targets and slide in for the win.

They took Dead Ringer from you
They took Spy-cicle from you
They took Ambassador from you
They took Reserve Shooter from you
They took Degreaser from you
They took Axtinguisher from you
They took Gloves of Running Urgently from you
They took Bonk! Atomic Punch from you
They took Shortstop from you
They took Baby-Faced Blaster
They took Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol from you
They took Sandman from you
They took Atomizer from you
They took Pomson 6000 from you
They took Wrangler from you
They took Short Circuit from you
They took Darwin's Danger Shield from you
They took Ullapool Caber from you
They took Tide Turner from you
And they expect you to believe this improved the game. That by reducing these weapons to being milquetoast or by soft-removing them from the game, the game was improved thanks to "balance", rather than the end effect just being to remove a ton of play diversity from the game.
>but in 6v6
NOBODY PLAYS 6V6
TF2 was designed around 12v12 for maps where several skirmishes are happening at any time. TF2 isn't meant to be fricking Overwatch.
Not every weapon NEEDS to have huge downsides compared to stock. Most stock melees are fricking boring and the additions over time added great spice to the game eg Gardener. But we know they were obsessed with balancing around stock when these changes dropped by observing the debuffs on Solemn Vow and Third Degree.
The mass nerfs factually made TF2 less unique and less fun.
>They took Wrangler from you
>They took Short Circuit from you
What the frick are you even talking about, Engineer still gets to delete projectiles or triple the health of his sentry for daring to give up his pistol.
>They took GRU from you
>They took Shortstop from you
>They took BFB from you
>They took Atomizer from you
>They took DDS from you
>They took Dead Ringer from you
>They took Spy-cicle from you
>They took Reserve Shooter from you
>They took Degreaser from you
Again, did they?
>
In otherwords tf2 did bullshit stuns before overwatch, got it.
Valve didn't go overboard with nerfs until Gun Mettle, a good year before Meet your Match.
I will never get over it. Frick Valve.
not to mention the removal of alltalk, and you can't kick players on the enemy team anymore.

Are you kidding me? The Wrangler is still stupidly overpowered.

>They took Darwin's Danger Shield from you
>They took Ullapool Caber from you
The only unjustly nerfed weapons (You should've included the B.A.S.E. Jumper too.)
>They took Sandman from you
Deserved
Pomson used to be OP, it was a deserved nerf
Same with the Danger Shield
>They took Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol from you
>They took Atomizer from you
Black person both those things are complete upgrades on stock and arguably the best weapon in their respective slots what the frick are you on about?
Also axtinguisher is a good weapon, just not as useful as powerjack.
>They took Wrangler from you
I fricking wish.
>all of this

Anyone else noticed how every class has been nerfed over the years except soldier?
>Black Box
>Concherer
>Bison
>BASE Jumper
>Equalizer
>Escape Plan
>Half-Zatoichi
>Black Box
>Concherer
Not nerfed in any way, Concheror is the strongest it's ever been, The battallions backup was buffed too, Blackbox now heals up to 20 hp from 15.
>Bison
Literal meme weapon that no one ever used and was never useful from the beginning,
It was even bigger of a joke weapon than trolldier.
inb4 muh penetration.
>BASE Jumper
Only ever used with Airstrike, for Soldier,
Also it's a shared weapon with Demoman,
It's only the nerf I would consider in this list and it's not even a soldier exclusive weapon.
>Equalizer
>Escape Plan
>Demo is literally a weaker soldier
you're really underestimating the sheer damage stickies and pipes can do and how useful on the fly traps are
Cope, if that statement is wrong you should be easily able to prove it wrong, yet you can't, soldier can do anything demo does with half the effort.
>Demo is literally a weaker soldier
It's statements like this is why I'm so glad Valve would never listen to Ganker on balance advice.
moron tier opinions.
>If the fight is taking place in closed choky area, soldier will win 99% of the time.
Well that's bullshit, he has the second slowest walk speed, spends 90% of the time reloading, a small clip, a slow firing speed, his rockets are slow/easily dodged and he has no support abilities whatsoever.
>he has no support abilities whatsoever.
you're wrong on that, he has his banners which are really good except for the fact that 2 of them are also used by scout and sniper as debuff aoes with the only requirement being resupply or waiting
and I forgot the disciplinary action
Banners are a worse option most of the time than just using gunboats/shotgun so I didn't count them. Disciplinary Action is OP though, yeah, I said this earlier in the thread. When I think Soldier I'm mainly thinking stock Soldier.
You can't nerf "Baby's First Class" too hard or they'll cry.
No, it's just that Soldier hasn't had absolutely peak moronic nerfs that make no sense. Shit like Cow Mangler nerf was justified. Most of the shit
listed was just plain moronic and make the game worse
>reduced reserve ammo by half
>rockets now deal full self-damage if an enemy is damaged by it
>the addition of airblast
>almost every single unlockable weapon has been nerfed in some capacity
mate, you're just fricking moronic.
now deal full self-damage if an enemy is damaged by it
You mean Sniper
Anyone else noticed how much Soldier makes shitters seethe?
Are these shitters in the room with us right now?
QED. And to no one's surprise it was Pyro mains b***hing about Soldier, even with the ridiculous advantage airblast gives Pyro over Soldier you shitters still seethe.
>brings up pyros out of nowhere
Have you ever thought that you might be the actual shitter who has pyros living rent free in his mind the entire time?
Is every soldier main this moronic?
>brings up pyros out of nowhere
Not only are you a shitter you're either blind or illiterate, probably both given you're a Pyro main.
>entire class gaslights playerbase into believing Pyro is the shitter class
I play demoman ya c**t and yes whatever advantage airblast has is basically null when your moronic asses literally jump in gunboats blazing with a full overheal and jumping away as soon as shit doesnt go your way. I got half a mind hoping Valve nerfs your homosexual enabling boots to roamer status that means your ass gets no overheals or regular medic heals and you have to rely on healthpacks and dispensers just like the pyros rake.
What cant handle the truth wienerbag ? I see almost NO pyros at higher level play.
>I play demoman
So you play an even spammier class than Soldier and you're still b***hing?
>I got half a mind
No kidding.
>I see almost NO pyros at higher level play.
and your a compgay too, that's just pathetic.
Demoman takes skill
I still have to Aim my guy, accept that you're playing on easy mode and be proud of it. you only have to try half as hard then any other class in the game!
If you could actually aim you wouldn't be b***hing that Soldier is too mobile for you to kill. Shitters like you always reveal their hands
>nerf gunboats Valve I can't hit Soldier if he isn't waddling at Heavy speed!
>NO I NEED TO BE TANKY AND HAVE GREAT DAMAGE OUTPUT WITH SPLASH AND THE ABILITY TO FLY OR IT'S NOT FAIR
>entire class gaslights playerbase into believing Pyro is the shitter class, The reality at higher level play sets in when you have played long enough.
I like soldier as a character but soldier mains are pretty low on that IQ chart.
just like the character they play. its so effortless it frickin puts me to frickin sleep.
What I cannot tolerate is the piece of shit Escape Plan.
soldier is the designated main class, everybody else is just for support.
Wake me when my Equalizer and Escape Plan get merged back together.
>Dead Ringer
>Spy-cicle
>Tide Turner
>Degreaser
>Axtinguisher
>Bonk! Atomic Punch
>Atomizer
>Gloves of Running Urgently
>Axtinguisher
>Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol
>Wrangler
These are all either still viable, or actually still even overpowered (PBPP, Wrangler).
>Reserve Shooter
>Sandman
Good. Both of them could be used in a way that stunned the target for an easy kill, removing counterplay and taking skill out of the game. Frick them.
>They took Pomson 6000 from you
>They took Short Circuit from you
>They took Darwin's Danger Shield from you
Weapons explicitly designed to counter one class were never a good idea anyway. This is a first person shooter, not rock paper scissors.
>They took Ullapool Caber from you
>They took Baby-Faced Blaster
The only overpowered Soldier weapons are Escape Plan, Market Gardener, and Disciplinary Action. All his other unlocks are balanced (except Bison is underpowered).
>Scout could move so fast with BFB that his hitbox would literally glitch to a different position.
no it wouldn't, if it did then they would have directly nerfed the speed instead of making taking damage drain boost
if that's true then scout still CAN move so fast that his hitbox glitches to a different position
>Caber allowed Demoman, a class who is extremely powerful at midrange but balanced by his closerange weakness, to blow up enemies who got close to him for no relevant downside.
the downside was that your one and only weapon that doesn't do self damage in melee range now does self damage at melee range and becomes practically worthless after it hits once
it was only good for suicide bombing light classes
>the downside was that your one and only weapon that doesn't do self damage in melee range now does self damage at melee range and becomes practically worthless after it hits once
>It was not a sufficient downside to balance out the ability to be lethal at midrange AND closerange.
you're only lethal against one guy in melee range as the class who's slower than all the classes who would even get close enough that the caber would be a serious threat in the first place, if you ever get in a fight with 2 guys you're fricked while with stock you at least can reliably kill most classes with 3 hits or a crit while a detonated caber needs at least 4 hits to kill a scout and can only barely 2 shot a kunai spy with no overheal
also there's a big difference between close range and melee range, the guys fighting you at close range have enough speed that they can stay in close range without going into mid or melee range
>It could and would oneshot Medics.
this is something both a demoknight and a market garden can do too, one shotting medics really isn't that big of a deal
>if you ever get in a fight with 2 guys you're fricked while with stock you at least can reliably kill most classes with 3 hits
Nothing at all in your post contradicted facts A, B, C, D or E. Therefore your post is irrelevant. Black person.
the caber was demo's version of the third degree but there were no utility melees for people to use instead
Arguably natascha and lochnload?
he used to have one called the "panic attack" but then it was changed and there was no replacement for it
This man speaks the truth.
Are cheaters in a party of 6 still around in casual?
not really and even if you do encounter that just find a new match
since the summer update ive only run into 2 cheaters
Thanks mate

I still hope they silently add sprays back to casual.
I want them to just remove the ability for servers to turn off sprays altogether, there is absolutely no reason for them to do so now that sprays are off by default and are able to be deleted when you quit the game.
Playing 100 man trench wars made me realize how much I missed team switching, purely for the ability to spectate. It's just fun watching the chaos play out in full view and seeing what shenanigans players get into;
i miss being able to spectate suspected cheaters, it's way too easy to get away with cheating now if you're not a bot, most new players can't even comprehend the idea of real people using cheats.

2007-2012 was peak TF2 before Valve went full moron with balancing weapons in any future updates.
When I launched the game last year, it was literally unplayable. It took ages to get into a casual server and they were always filled with bots. I tried again this past week and while I still had to abandon servers every once in a while because of bots, I was able to play the game for the first time since like 2015
Is TF2 Classic worth checking out?
no it adds a bunch of fanfiction nonsense
open fortress is fun though
I remember it runs and looks much better than retail but haven't played in a while.
I opened it, joined a custom weapons server, saw that Soldier had an assault rifle, and closed the game.
>Soldier had an assault rifle
Yeah that sounds like some homosexual shit. How does one frick up that bad?
It's pretty good, the Vault F4 servers are probably the closest you can get to community pubs these days. Many of the people that play on the servers are regulars that will play at common hours, myself included.
There ARE fanfic weapons and beta/scrapped content that reasonably stayed beta in vanilla, but overall it is a fun experience.

Why would you use the Degreaser nowadays? Puff-n-shoot is as dead as puff-n-sting.
If you're a shottygay you can switch to airblasts really quickly.
So not dead at all then.
It comes in handy when you're constantly need to switch between the Powerjack and your secondary of choice
So Pyro has been reduced to skinnyfatScout? Damn that's sad
It's the compgays' fault for whinging that his primary does more damage than his secondaries like every other class in the game.
pyro has been functionally broken in every single iteration since qwtf
it's not the compgays who programmed the fricking particle system, and then made something even more non-functional than before (to the point where flailing around INCREASED your DPS). it's not compgays who created a bunch of convars for how to adjust the physics for new airblast and then decide to not use them
stop scapegoating, this is valve's fault.
>pyro
>broken
You're being buck broken by a w+m1 class?
He means dysfunctional, esl-chan
Flames are shit (always have been) and airblast is strong so optimal Pyro is just running around with the Shotgun and using Degreaser to have on-demand airblast.
Sandman + Flying Guillotine was one of the most fun playstyles in TF2
That and the old Demoknight where you could do max damage with a point-blank Splendid Screen bash
>Did the latest update add any weapon?
no
>And were the Pyro update weapons any good?
no
All of the Pyro weapons are bad.
Dragon's Fury was good, but clearly by accident because all of Pyro's other weapons in that update were shit and Valve nerfed it a few months later
Don't bother with those.
>reinstall tf2 after years of not playing

Thoughts on VSH? what do you wanna see from it in further updates?
It's there. I don't really see what anyone gets out of it. It's too quick to really develop any cool tactics.
It's pretty fun but it just needs more maps and Demoknight should keep his shield throughout the entire match. I hope Merasmus becomes playable in a Halloween update.
TF2 is garbage just like HL2, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and all sequels.

Team Fortress 2... has healed. It still bares scars... but it is alive
fortress sisters we are so back
getting a collateral kill with an airblast reflect is the greatest feeling in the world
bonus points if it's the soldier's dumbass pocket medic that gets fragged
Frick I hate Heavies and Soldiers decked out in hundreds of dollars worth of cosmetics, with pocket Medics far up their asses. They're the most annoying Black folk in pubs.
It would be good day when people acknowledge that it's heavy+medic combos that frick tf2 up.
I've literally never seen a heavy with expensive cosmetics. It's always Soldiers, Snipers and Spies
>128 Player servers
WTF
Any servers with map-sizes that actually accommodate having that many players?
100 already brings the game to its knees even with all the cosmetics gone
Scout is my favorite class to play, but it pains me how I'll never get as high of a score with him than I do with Soldier, Demoman, or Heavy. Scout is really good at picking people off, selectively picking my battles, but I can't kill an entire team one after another like is possible with the aforementioned three.
Time to get into the mindset of realising score is cosmetic in TF2. All is forgiven if you stand next to that cart, mister.
>start taking contracts seriously
>all the map ones
who the frick decided this was a good idea
and who the frick decided 2fort, turbine AND hightower should be on there?
>see pyro spamming the scorch shit
>immediately switch to pyro with the manmelter
thanks for the free crits b***h homie
>hold down rightclick behind a teammate getting wm1ed
>get like 5 or 6 crits instantly because it keeps extinguishing them and reapplying it
your teammate might get mad you arent helping but frick them. manmelter is dangerously based
>doing good
>medic decides to heal me
>oh no...
>he ubers me when i only have my weapon half reloaded
>miss all those shots
>reload more
>miss those shots too
please, don't uber me.
There's a little ammo counter in the heal target's player box, the medic either didn't know that or wasn't paying attention.
every medic that's ever ubered me does it when im not fully reloaded.
eh, sometimes you just gotta use uber because he sees trouble that you don't.
>play tf2 for the first time in 10 years
>am bad at it again
dont worry man, the only people who actually care about your gameplay are gays. play for you not for them
>join match
>pick sniper
>can't even hit bodyshots and doing terribly
>next round starts
>get four headshots in a row on moving or players in the air
i don't understand
Same. I would play 24.7 2fort and get nothing on the first go. Then I get multiple headshots a couple of respawns later. I don;t get it either..
What track keeps you idling in the menu before playing?
why does every spy disguise as a scout? is there something I don't know? it's obvious because he moves slower, right?
Scout's head is lower than Spy's, so snipers have a harder time trying to quickscope you. Scout's model is also much smaller, making it easier to decloak without being noticed. Finally, your running speed doesn't get fricked over. It's not the best disguise to keep for a long time but it's generally useful in most situations.
scout doesn't stand as tall as everyone else so the spy's actual head is invisible
It’s a smaller model which makes the spy just a little bit less noticeable. Effective strafing and movement can also be used to trick players in the tense fight (which is generally the only time disguises will actually work)
If you want 107% speed your disguise choices are Scout/Medic/Spy. Sometimes the small profile of Scout has advantages
Doesn't make you slower and is the easiest to click (plus moronation because it's the most obvious disguise)
I haven't played TF2 since it went free-to-play. Is it worth reinstalling? Would I even recognize it? Here, have an old screenshot of TF2 from 2007.
lol no, probably for the best if you hate cosmetics.
That's a shame.
i messed up, i was replying to
>Would I even recognize it?
game still plays the same, only with a lot more weapons (though vanilla weapons are still the best mostly)
but if you're a purist then you might get turned off by all the cosmetics they've added since then.
I still think nucleus isn't fit in TF2 universe
what is that huge wheel
the nucleus
>landing a crit on a target being healed with the third degree instantly vaporizing the medic
spy should have gotten a third degree
So what are your people's thoughts on this weapon
I think it's hilarious
pyro's combos got absolutely annihilated but gets a primary that actually rewards aiming only for that to get fricking ruined too
if it didn't suck I think people would really like it
Sucks since combo pyro was the only time I enjoyed playing him. The RS meta was gay but flare punching was fine.
Anyway all the b***hes whining made their phlog car and scorch spam beds and will forever lie in them.
Phlog + scorch shot has always been a lame way to play, even when combo pyro was at its peak of effectiveness.
I'd rather the phlog be trashed and redesigned into something interesting but if it's not going to change much just making only build off of phlog damage would be acceptable.
combo pyro getting ruined is the reason why I hate pyros now since now there's no advantage to not flail around everywhere
if I die I want to die to someone who's doing something cool like a combo and I want the spycicle to be countered by a good combo despite the fact that spy is my main
whenever I play pyro I still do combos out of habit
It's fun and good but I wiff my shots and die in situations where if I had a normal flamethrower I'd have cleared house more often than I will ever admit
feels awkward to use and i'd rather have stock or backburner every single time tbh
Every time I decide to use it, I switch off of it not long after because I want to actually have airblast.
its trash because of the moronic requirement of hitting dead center for the bonus damage gimmick to actually trigger, remove that and maybe shrink the overall projectile by 30% and it becomes god-tier for pyro and would make him actually fun to play as and against
also remove the ability for the projectile to be reflected and deleted by short circuits, that shit is incredibly fricking moronic
The only reason it's not the most hated weapon in the game to play against is because it's bugged to hell and back. Needs to be completely reworked.
my favourite weapon in the game and the only reason I main pyro
It isn't bugged, noobs just don't understand it isn't hitscan.
The competitive community weren't the ones who got the Dragon's Fury nerfed. You need to get that boogeyman to stop living in your head
It's been 9 years you dumb animal, quit pretending the closed betas and private negotiations never happened.
Provide sources that the competitive community is responsible for the nerfing of DF. You can't, because it never happened. It was pubber whining as usual.
>weapon nerfed because pyro finally had a weapon he could go monkey mode with and kill his enemies toe to toe from a decent range.
>casual crowd collectively shits its pants because Now the pyros are killing them en masse with a pricing projectile that could clear rooms if aimed right
>it had no crits
>it takes several hits to die from it
>its still weaker then a demoman pipe sans afterburn
>afterburn damage is weak at the start
>cant reflect effectively with it its either one or the other.
>the sheer buthurt from scouts dying in two fricking shots
>medics crying because pyros could literally single them out in crowded rooms and demolish them because you cant stop a spear
It's fun but almost never as effective as just W+M1'ing with stock or stomping with phlog which is sad because this is Pyro's most mechanically interesting primary.
>will never kill an enemy on the first hit because its max is 25
>3 shots from the dragon's fury combo does basically the same as 2 shots from the shotguns
It's really fun and it's probably the best weapon for shredding Engineer nests
>decided to get a strange eternal reward
>price has skyrocketed thanks to some youtube homosexual
I'm getting sick of these frickos.
I play Detonator Pyro and every time I see a health pack I'll walk over it and do a little detojump. It's not so much that I should heal, but that others should not.
>[Red Cross didn't like that]
All i want is for the Liberty Launcher to have more knockback because lower dmg = less knockback which is stupid on a rocket launcher which is supposed to be used for juggling.
On an unrelated note, Mantreads should always do max force rocket jumps. That way they can compare to the gunboats (imagine a side-way rocket jump but at the force of a c-tap jump or imagine a c-tap jump but you don't have to time it).
I hate gold rush so much it's unreal
Skill always beats MEDIC!
YOU! YES, YOU!
YOU ARE MEDIC!
Everyone of you deserves a MEDIC!
>cant aim for shit
when is he getting a nerf?
when spy gets a buff
>Losing to bb+conch
lol
>+20 Health on damage and 4hp regen per sec is balanced bro.
>getting directed by rockets for the full 20 heal
>can't even deal any damage to stop regen
skill issues abound on this one.
Have fun waddling around when no enough ammo to rocket jump and bomb enemies.
Is TF2 the only shooter where "playing for the win" is actually the wrong way to play it?
Nah, most games are like that and 'I MUST WIN' attitude ruins everything
Why is it always Spy and Pyro that have all the janky and buggy mechanics?
Facestabbing requires skill, you wouldn't get it
Tf2 is spaghetti code
Clearly we need TF3.
Holy shit I am so bad at this game, it feels like I do no damage but I get melted in mere moments. How do I get good?
Scout:
>Don't jump until a Soldier has already shot his rocket at you. Otherwise, jump all the time in every other encounter and spaz out with WASD
>Abuse corners, run from fights you can't win
>Swap class if the enemy has a Sentry+decent engie at the back of a room, there's literally nothing you can do
Soldier
>Learn the most basic rocket jumps, they're very useful
>Don't feed rockets to Pyros. Use your Shotgun
Pyro
>change class
Demo
>Spam stickies, they are insanely strong
>Your most effective zone is midrange, avoid being in close or long range fights, stay just behind other teammates
Heavy
>Turn around occasionally when not in combat to catch out spies
>Use GRU to reach the frontline and Sandvich to heal yourself and your med
Engie
>Don't bother building unless your team is forming a buffer and will keep you safe
>Think about where the enemy is coming from and maybe put your Sentry in spots to surprise them
Medic
>Don't be a hero, preserve your Uber, stay behind corners healing when possible
>Learn to surf damage and you can escape soldiers/demos
Sniper
>Click heads good from far away but make sure you're not being too useless
Spy
>Don't use your disguise outside the enemy spawn, freshly spawned players get wallhacks
>don't rely on disguises too much, try to just decloak behind distracted players instead
General
>never stand still, never run in a straight line at an enemy, use your jump and A/D keys when fighting, remember the objective
ah. yep. the stock shotgun. thats my gun. nothing comes close. *sips*
Plus Vscript is forwards compatible with Source 2
homie its already happening
this was only two months ago.
that's not valve though
do you not know how valve works ???
>fans make thing
>thing sucessful has effort put into it
>Valve hires said team because the effort and work has been already done for them and they get to look good
>these dudes have already said if possible they'd be able to port the store to the game.
The only real monkeys paw here is that these dudes might be pozzed because they still have this as their discord icon which means our freedoms of speech might be threatened
>try to gid gud at pyro
>fail
>use backbuner
>instantly top score
I hate my skill
You're probably good, you're just dealing with the new flamethrower mechanics eating 90% of your damage output
Name a weapon with a better combination of simplicity and mechanics, I'll wait
Kritzkrieg
Gunboats
Backburner
Flare Gun
Sandvich
And the Soda Popper
the fan is fun as frick and the perfect amount of cartoony for tf2. you just have to have an idea for their trajectory and its not hard once you get the hang of it, also try to blast people into the corners of enclosed spaces just like pyros do. another thing is the knockback can sometimes be beneficial because in reality you wont win every fight and also it tends to throw off peoples aim. just finish with secondary if the first 2 didnt do it but pushed them around.
ngl i use stock weapons a lot :/

pyro is a troony class and always has been
and yet, with how popular soldier is (and how many mains there are), Soldier probably has more transgender people playing him than pyro.

GET BEHIND ME DOCTOR
I don't want to do any Overwatch shit flinging, but I recently played a match of it and couldn't believe how poorly the game communicates what is happening to the player compared to TF2. Even with TF2 becoming a shitshow with all the cosmetics it introduced, I never feel confused by what is coming at me. There's so many ways based on sound and sight to tell what is attacking you. It's a real testament to how well designed the game is that even with a coat of lime green paint over it it's still so understandable.
Is it just me or does steel never show up on casual servers?
Everyone knows that half the players will get lost
And yet somehow Bread Space is a popular map
how the frick do people keep getting lost there are signs fricking everywhere and a fricking map in both spawns as well as an instructional video before you can start playing it
people are extremely dumb and have gotten even dumber in the past 10 years. this is the same reason that payload is so popular now : there's no thinking, you just walk along a path and shoot at the bad men
I see it a good amount still, had a game the other day where I built a teleporter to E and won without taking B.
>install tf2

The soul is still there. Overwatch could never compare.
I kinda like that bot who joins and just micspams Bible quotes
How would you fix 2Fort?
What's wrong with it?
doesn't need fixing. there's no way to turn it into an actually good map without completely changing it from the ground up so it might as well be left alone as the fun frick around sandbox it's been since the beginning, like hightower
2fort is good already.
Upward > Blackwater
Yeah, I don't think anyone should disagree
Badwater is only fun at the start. Once blu reaches the third point, it's just a shitshow.
>upward last is not a shitshow
At least that's only one point, and not two.
How many payload maps don't become shitshows in their final points? I have trouble coming up with any names.
Frontier isn't that bad, although that's only because the real shitshow is in the warehouse before last.
Maybe Pier too but only because that map is so fricking big that everyone is just tired by the time the cart actually reaches last.
To the soldiers I just kritz pocketed for a few games, you are based, fun as frick games to play.
