Alternate forms was the best decision they made and they should have done it decades ago before the dex hit 500+ Pokemon. No one gives a shit about regional Ratata #3254 but people go nuts over a new Charizard variant and it makes it easier to remember all the Pokemon. Every Pokemon should have branching evolution paths or some form of Eeveeism.
