Should I look foward to the story in these games? I remember a little bit of the anime and IIRC it had a really sad ending with Mega Man sacrificing himself.
1-3 have nice vein of drama, 2 is bizzarely serious at times (pay attention to the cutscenes following Okuden)
4 and 5 have a real anime Feel and 6 is a mixed bag.
So, pay attention to 1-3, dont feel like you need to get too invested in 4 and 5, and enjoy 6 as a genuine effort to please fans.
4's plot, writing and translation make it the stupidest thing I've ever seen. And you have to run through it all THREE TIMES to actually reach endgame content.
The plot isn't amazing but the games have lot of good moments if that makes sense. 1-3 are the best with it going from moment to moment beats, 4 shits on everything, 5 is weird because it has some clever writing and moments but also some really dumb ones and 6 is the final game that wasn't originally meant to be the ending, so most of the plot can be odd up until you get to the final confrontation with Wily were suddenly it's actually really well written and Wily gets a lot added to his character
3 as it released was meant to be the end of the series, but the games were cheap to produce and profitable so Capcom made the BN team keep cranking them, but 4 shad the bed so the series only lasted until 6.
>but the games were cheap to produce and profitable so Capcom made the BN team keep cranking them
Wow, greed is one hell of a drug. Which one do people use to play competitively?
6 and 5 are the most competitive games, since they’re the most balanced in they’re own mechanics.
5 with Dark Mechanics and 6 with Main series mechanics.
Most people play using a program called Tango, which allows Rollback and is much better than the collection’s online. Only downside about Tango is no random matchmaking. You have to use room codes.
Because of the expectation 3 gave, and then 4 shat on that.

I mean, look at the sales for BN4 and then the ones for BN5. The drop was massive.
carried entirely by 3's momentum
do you really believe 4 deserved to be a bestseller on its own merits? it was so rushed even the japanese title screen is a powerpoint slide with a color gradient
if 4 had sold worse than 3 would you say that it was because 3 must have been bad and made people mot want to buy the next one? no, you would say "duh game sold bad becuz it's bad" you 3-obsessed wienermonglers
regardless, the real reason is likely because of the anime reaching it's popularity peak, the new appealing artystle, and souls

>if 4 had sold worse than 3
it didn't. don't query me with useless what-ifs. 4 is well-documented and generally accepted as the most developmentally troubled of the six. it did as well as well as it did in spite of that, not because of it

>"it didn't. don't query me with useless what-ifs" >I get to make shit up >but not you
ok moron
the reality and fact is that it outsold your precious 3
you think normies noticed the miner quality drop?
the game was well received and well reviewed and is remembered well to this day outside of your Ganker echochamber
you're the one making up headcanons and theories for why the series fell off, when it's more likely that people just got tired of it after 6 games (each with multiple versions for maximum israeliteery)

you're right, anon. 4's universal reputation as the whipping boy of the franchise is a hoax. we are all wrong. every last one of us. you alone were the one in the right these last two decades

>no, you would say "duh game sold bad becuz it's bad"
I wouldn't say that because bad games get tons of sales all the goddamn time.
It's more likely for good games to get low sales because most people are fricking morons on a leash called marketing.
carried entirely by 3's momentum

The part where Megaman kills Lan in cold blood was chilling, what a tone shift. I guess being treated like a slave his whole life finally made him snap.
The premise is great and there's good ideas here and there, but the execution is lacking and nothing has any lasting consequences. Star Force is much better in that regard.
>wasn't originally meant to be the ending
What was originally meant to be the ending?
They weren't sure if they wanted to continue the series on DS and eventually made Star Force.
MMBN plots aren't the best writing ever but they're typically very solid and the first three are really nicely done. 6 is pretty good too, the only thing I didn't like in 6 was how it backpedaled on how Lan was getting used to life without a navi/Megaman after 3 before he returned and suddenly Lan can't do anything without Hub again in 6.
nah frick the filter. eat it raw. puts hair on your chest

Only gays filter.
No there are some bits of goodness but it’s mostly just kid’s stuff.

He apologized for that later, though.
1-3 are a fun ride for how ridiculous they get, and there are a few dramatic moments that work quite well.

*became the best selling megaman game until 11

3, game ends with the deletion of the original internet and megaman sacrificing himself to save lan from getting digi-vored (but surviving in the end)
The Navis rebel against the humans, with Mega Man leading the revolution.
Use the spoiler tags, moron.
Its a decade old game anon.
The part where Megaman kills Lan in cold blood was chilling, what a tone shift. I guess being treated like a slave his whole life finally made him snap.
It's pretty ugly but you do you.

Start with 6
No.
Filter off, and with original text mod.
