The first season is 'kinda' based off the main game plotline up to BN2 but in season 2 they went full original concept with Cross Fusion shit the whole show turned into henshin super hero anime

If you're looking for a Battle Network game, absolutely not. The game speed is schizophrenic and the card system has both cooldowns and a resource gauge, you can't pick your cards either. Imagine if whenever you opened the PET to pick chips, said chip got randomly chosen, with a random timer ontop and a random cooldowns to boot. This is all made worse by the bigger field too.
If you're expecting something to scratch your battle network itch? No. Its battle system is just lossely inspired by BN but apart from that it's just procedurally generated chain battles and events. Think FTL with BN combat instead of ship combat except it's worse at both.

I played through the entire BN series long ago and really liked it. I can't get into One Step From Eden personally. It gets a little bit too crazy. There was some form of progression in BN and that game sort of just puts you in the middle of figure it the frick out yourself land immediately. Also some mechanics are different and the music is not doing it for me.

There are some stuff that we should look for, since the original color pallet was made for GBA, we could have a problem with oversatured colors. I understand that the later models had a screen that would display the RGB colors, but I still think that the game should offer an option to change the color pallet. Some of the graphic are dependent of a LCD scree, I hope that they give us something to simulate a LCD screen. I loved it though, the mods will surely port some of the QoLs that was made for the original games.

All games from 3 on had two versions. The only differences were some of the bosses (and their scenarios) and upgrades you could get.
