Did see mentions of that and I think the recurring theme is skipping scenes, like it can frick certain triggers for other scenes somehow, but inconsistently since some are skipping everything and getting through fine
In a potential gorillion hour jrpg it's definitely a refund-worthy problem if it happens though
Not sure if there is enough data to draw that conclusion. Some people have restarted and skipped all of the scenes and it worked for them, other people have tried the same and managed to get past that one cutscene but got stuck on one right after.
Either way, this game is up my alley so I'll keep an eye on it to see if the devs ever fix the issue.

I really hate how poorly paced this romance is which I have brought up before. It feels like they just met and now they're in love after 5 minutes. Like I don't play a lot of games that has a romance like this but one from recent memory that comes to mind is Tales of Arise with Alphen and Shionne. I really enjoyed Alphen and Shionne's romance it felt like a natural, slow burn romance while this shit just happens out of nowhere.
Yea it does feel pretty forced, but I'm just going to chalk it up to Arshem being horny for the BTC. That and the Japanese trope of girl falls in love because the guy is nice etc etc.
Co-op is like PSO in that you run previous missions or similar ones in areas you've been in and people can drop in to add boosts to loot and possibly exp from what little I've seen so far. Gear is RNG and based around your level range for the most part, though you can still get fodder drops that are like level 3 when you're like level 15. There's all kinds of endgame I've read about but I'm still playing the story myself, so can't confirm what best drops are or how to get them or how co-op plays into it outside of more players = bigger boost % or something.
So is there any point to to grinding gear on Arshem's story? I know the weapon skills are shared between the main campaign and this one, but the other motherboard chips, pilot skills, and gear don't carry over right?

It's originally a Switch game. I'm not a fan of the story segments or anything to do with walking around town but the missions and mecha customization are alright. There's not a lot of grinding games like this that are as good as this so I take what I can get.
My main problems are 50€ for a rerelease of a game even if it has more content and easy anti-cheat which is why I pirated.

It was originally a normal paid game but it did so poorly that instead of sequel they released a second version of it as a f2p.
And since that didn't do well either they went with doing one last updated version as normal release with the old f2p features scaled down to just being shit you earn in game.

After 70 the rest is just passive leveling while you do other grinds. Once you hit 70 you're still going to need a lot of upgrades before you can actually fight megaton 2 bosses.
yeah the normal level cap is 80. Then there's the megaton rank which you level doing megaton 2 missions. Not sure what the level cap for that is since you unlock missions from leveling it but you can level past the final mission unlock.

Hello. I am addicted to Hydro Cannons. With extra magazine stat, they go from 1 bullet to between 18-30. DPS is lower than other guns?
Not a problem. The AoE is the size of Africa and hit hit things 3-4 times, out DPSing guns 1-2k above it. Shoot it at any boss with spider legs to laugh.
As long as they exist, other guns are pointless. Free aim damage stat? Go ahead - you can't fricking miss shooting these nukes. Reload stat? Yes. Bullets? Yes. Ranges damage at close range? Yup. Damage to disabled? Also yes. In fact, the only damage ranged stat it doesn't want is charging.
I do more damage spamming my nukes than my special moves do, Musashi so help me.

So the gattling version of the machine gun is really good, too. It's great for clearing out those low level missions that pop up since you just hold the trigger and auto lock kills all the shitters, but it's also good on difficult missions if you're a status build.
LOTS of status procs because it fires so fast.

effects matter less than a set bonus early on. You can wear anything until chapter 10 and then just grab a set of iconic musashi o from the first dreadnought fight and it will carry you since it gives you 30% health after 30 hits and you can find pieces that give you even more healing on top of it if you want to keep grinding it.
the collab bots are the best things you can get early and they are all easy to grind. But they dont drop above legendary rarity. But you can still use holocasing to dress up as them and if you are wearing the full cosmetic set you are still able to use their exclusive special moves even if you aren't really using the bots.

Some can be bought from shops and some can be unlocked from in-game achievements.
Hopefully you're picking up anything sparkly you see on the streets so you have less of a grind to finish the collect list later.

yes it is. the AI partners are moronic, but you can turn them off if they hinder you too much and play solo. usually they just die a lot and nig your force fields.

There are only very minor deviations from the anime that would not change your opinion of it. The last anime episode is played as a cutscene in its entirety. The new story barely goes beyond the end of the anime and has no major revelations that make things less stupid.

I'm thinking of buying this, is the co-op any good? Is it necessary to get good gear or whatever?
Co-op is like PSO in that you run previous missions or similar ones in areas you've been in and people can drop in to add boosts to loot and possibly exp from what little I've seen so far. Gear is RNG and based around your level range for the most part, though you can still get fodder drops that are like level 3 when you're like level 15. There's all kinds of endgame I've read about but I'm still playing the story myself, so can't confirm what best drops are or how to get them or how co-op plays into it outside of more players = bigger boost % or something.
dreadnaught missions give the best drops, and co-op gives you extra shit.
Does having drop rate pilot skills on multiple pilots at once stack? Does having them on CPU pilots work at all?
So is there any point to to grinding gear on Arshem's story? I know the weapon skills are shared between the main campaign and this one, but the other motherboard chips, pilot skills, and gear don't carry over right?
Your stuff will carry over later, but that part of the story isn't long enough to justify grinding. Just focus on the story.

It's originally a Switch game. I'm not a fan of the story segments or anything to do with walking around town but the missions and mecha customization are alright. There's not a lot of grinding games like this that are as good as this so I take what I can get.
My main problems are 50€ for a rerelease of a game even if it has more content and easy anti-cheat which is why I pirated.

After 70 the rest is just passive leveling while you do other grinds. Once you hit 70 you're still going to need a lot of upgrades before you can actually fight megaton 2 bosses.

yeah the normal level cap is 80. Then there's the megaton rank which you level doing megaton 2 missions. Not sure what the level cap for that is since you unlock missions from leveling it but you can level past the final mission unlock.

Hello. I am addicted to Hydro Cannons. With extra magazine stat, they go from 1 bullet to between 18-30. DPS is lower than other guns?
Not a problem. The AoE is the size of Africa and hit hit things 3-4 times, out DPSing guns 1-2k above it. Shoot it at any boss with spider legs to laugh.
As long as they exist, other guns are pointless. Free aim damage stat? Go ahead - you can't fricking miss shooting these nukes. Reload stat? Yes. Bullets? Yes. Ranges damage at close range? Yup. Damage to disabled? Also yes. In fact, the only damage ranged stat it doesn't want is charging.
I do more damage spamming my nukes than my special moves do, Musashi so help me.
The hydro bazooka is amazing. First time I got a good one I had the urge to laugh maniacally while I was shooting everything on sight

So the gattling version of the machine gun is really good, too. It's great for clearing out those low level missions that pop up since you just hold the trigger and auto lock kills all the shitters, but it's also good on difficult missions if you're a status build.
LOTS of status procs because it fires so fast.
I still have no fricking idea how status effects even work. I've had them apply from special moves but never a normal attack.
Status effects have an invisible buildup meter and take a lot to proc without speccing into them hard
there's chips to make the buildup threshold lower iirc

effects matter less than a set bonus early on. You can wear anything until chapter 10 and then just grab a set of iconic musashi o from the first dreadnought fight and it will carry you since it gives you 30% health after 30 hits and you can find pieces that give you even more healing on top of it if you want to keep grinding it.

the collab bots are the best things you can get early and they are all easy to grind. But they dont drop above legendary rarity. But you can still use holocasing to dress up as them and if you are wearing the full cosmetic set you are still able to use their exclusive special moves even if you aren't really using the bots.

There are only very minor deviations from the anime that would not change your opinion of it. The last anime episode is played as a cutscene in its entirety. The new story barely goes beyond the end of the anime and has no major revelations that make things less stupid.
