MGSV should've been 5 or 6 more locations with the scope and detail of Ground Zeroes and none of the empty open world bullshit in between or mobile game tier base building.
This. I've been saying it since launch but most people actually like that shit. The sadest part for me was replaying it recently and leaving a negative steam review. Of course i've got that stupid clown sticker and when i've looked at other reviews all it was ware single sentence meme quotes. Zoomers are fricking cattle.
Between mods for procure on site, and no health regen, the game is obscenely more engaging and entertaining when you don't have options to near permanently put someone on the ground 'non-lethally'.
STN is short, and hold ups don't last through alerts. Suddenly killing becomes a very genuine consideration, because worse than an alert is an alert that results in being surrounded.
Would be true if the guns weren't so strong and the AI so dogshit. Who cares if you get surrounded when you can just one shot everyone in the face with a fricking guard's rifle off the floor?
The implication is you're still trying to avoid outright killing anyone, demanding the kills you make be more discriminate.
If you're just trading sleep darts for bullets the situation naturally doesn't change, short of being absent silencers. At which point, why not just use the tranqs?
>Go from a somewhat populated map with a few interesting places in between to an absolutely empty second map with nothing but sand.
I know it's Africa and all but you really feel how incomplete 5 is after you're done with the first few missions in Africa.
this was such a disappointing game because there were little sections/moments here and there were the proper MGS soul did shine through but they were fleeting, merely a hint at what could have been
frick konami and kojima
I am the only who doesn't understand the praise for Ground Zeroes? It's like The Tanker part of MGS2. Sure it's cool but it's just a setup for something greater. I don't think the level design is special. It has one small basement area and some cameras. But TPP has that too. The darker tone that people talk about is also just edgyness while TPP had more substance.
What's hard to understand? GZ is the good parts of MGSV with TPPs filler. Open World added nothing of value because all the interesting content is in the camps anyway.
>he paid full price
lol, I got GZ + TPP for 5 bucks in one disc. If you get so salty over game length and how long to beat avg times just wait for reviews
Ground zeroes is a better game than Phantom Pain.
The argument of "Its only 3 hours long!" is not a valid argument. I'd rather eat a nice steak for $60
than eat a 100 mcnuggets for $30.
If you want to talk about "value for money" then that's a different story,
>get a kino Afghan desert setting to ride around at night with sandstorms >no I would rather have a generic splinter cell GZ camp copy and pasted 10 times
>1000 times more memorable
Ground Zeroes was more memorable than MGSV and it was supposed to be a standalone demo.
MGSV should've been 5 or 6 more locations with the scope and detail of Ground Zeroes and none of the empty open world bullshit in between or mobile game tier base building.

How do you make such unadulterated kino as a demo and then frick it up for the real game?
if you used the tranq gun at all in mgsv you didn't truly experience it
What about rocket punch?
This is remarkably true

afghanistan is the sand map. africa is greenery
Blame Sweet Baby Inc they almost removed Africa entirely and didn't let Kojima do much with it in fear of racism
Have you commis gone completely mental and are just talking shit now trying to false-flag?
indoor stealth > outdoor stealth
simple as
sex stealth > combat stealth
MGS3 was the beginning of the end in many ways
What's the problem with this? It's clearly not an area that you're supposed to infiltrate. Post an actual base.
N-no I need a billion copy and pasted bandit camps to clear!
How did this stretch of dunes manage to mindbreak Ganker for 9+ years? What's the psychology behind this?
this was such a disappointing game because there were little sections/moments here and there were the proper MGS soul did shine through but they were fleeting, merely a hint at what could have been
frick konami and kojima
genuine question, should i buy the 3 MGS games on steam? they are slightly on sale
God no, just emulate. The ports are garbage.
I had more fun in "Survive" than base mgs... It's over.
>could have been open area missions kino
>instead he fell for the open world meme
still a great game and perfect 3rd person controls
>He didn't complete an entire run of the game wearing the leather jacket
for me it's naked snake (literally)

not the only one, it's fine but nothing special
GZ is shit because it's a 3 hour game sold for $40 fricking dollars. FRICK that game so hard. Hate it so much.

>food analogy already
americans are SICK
Anyway, TPP is more like a "nice steak for $60" while GZ is a small slice of steak for $40.
God I hate you fricking 95 iq cattle. Not a single one of you has ever had an original thought.
Kino, plebs won't get it
such a kino game, there was a great foundation for a fun basebuilder system, one more advanced and interactive than the FOB one in V.
>get a kino Afghan desert setting to ride around at night with sandstorms
>no I would rather have a generic splinter cell GZ camp copy and pasted 10 times
Afghanistan is a big place
The PS3/360 really held this game back. I don't know why they bothered. Who the frick didn't have a PS4/XBone by 2015?
Looks great unironically
Yeah, if it came out in 2006.
Did you know MGSV has Graphics?
Look at this red light being cast through/reflected from these blankets (or w/e these are supposed to be)
And it killed the series, thanks kojimbo.
No its fine, we have Metal Gear Survive
surfive was a good game
I'll never know because online is dead
I kinda want to try it but even now it's significantly more expensive than MGSV (definitive edition). What the frick?
Newer game costs more money, what?
Yeah but it was universally hated and no one bought it. You'd think they'd make it a bit cheaper, no?
Their loss really
