Bumping to stay relevant on page 1. Please anons, I need to know if this game got secretly canned or not. I was genuinely looking forward to playing it, especially since the creators acknowledged how heavy the Into The Breach influence was.
I feel you, anon, I was very interested in this game back in 2021 when it was announced and then even more when they thorozed a 2023 release.
I don't think the quietness of the developers means it has been canned but I don't know.
Considering it won't be releasing in 2023 after all we I expect some news very early in 2024. Even of it's a cancellation.
Hopefully. I really don't want any more delays, especially since the demo gameplay footage released already looked pretty complete to me. I honestly have to wonder what behind the scenes bullshit is going on for this to be happening.
I don't know but I was hyped for it when it came out. Metal Slug is an underrated game and franchise.
Yeah, just the fact that we were getting another Metal Slug game after all that time, and it was taking a more strategic approach than the typical Contra-style action-platforming was enough to get me hooked. But the fact that the devs have been radio silent about the current progress of the game, ESPECIALLY after a years-worth of delays, has me VERY concerned for the future of this project, although I hope I'm wrong.

I just want it to get done because I need a small-scale tactical skirmish game where you can outskill your numerically-superior foes by just dropping the ceiling of a structure they've hunkered-down inside of and bury everything actually dangerous to your doods in a pile of rubble - seriously why is this the only game I know of that's designed from the get-go to allow you doing that sorta nifty stuff?

That would imply that there isn't a possibility it's mostly finished, but some legal BS prevents them from releasing it, or even talking about it. The Batgirl effect, which is like worst case scenario imo. I genuinely hope the publisher hasn't just backed out on them, and it's being quietly scrapped, I wanted to play this game so badly, bros.

Guys, you do know what year we live in right? You are aware of the state of the gaming industry right? You should NEVER be hyped for any game based on the marketing, period. Especially not if it is some longs establishes franchise trying its hands a completely different genre for the first time.

That's the problem innit? The game just up and disappeared without a trace like Houdini, and nobody seems to know what happened to it, especially because the devs have been radio silent ever since they announced the delay more than a year ago now.
