I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo confused when I saw him because I didn't recognize his "old" look at all. Like my brain actually refused to piece it together.
You're not alone. As soon as I saw him I was like >That's Coop!... but it can't be!
and I looked up the cast, saw "Hank MacLean" and assume that was the name of some MacLachlan lookalike I'd never heard of.
>actor looks different in two shows that are 34 years apart >brain doesn't piece it together
Can't really blame you. it's the same sort of mental disconnect that has people thinking that videogames 10 years ago were N64/PS1 games.
It's because pop culture milestones literally don't exist anymore
"That big movie star" is still fricking Brad Pitt or Leonardo Dicaprio
"That big game" is still fricking Skyrim or Minecraft or GTA5
"That big movie" is still fricking Iron Man or Batman
"That big singer" is still fricking Drake or Taylor Swift
The top three shows on Netflix are The Office, Friends and Seinfeld
We lived through the entire world completely changing every 12 to 18 months and then it stopped happening, as if social media set a permanent stasis where nothing new will ever be created again, just endlessly remixed and rehashed and fed its own excrement
If anything it sort of makes Fallout's "everyone in 2077 LARPs like it's 1952" conceit feel more realistic because we ourselves live in the timeline where 2007 never ended
not quite. there are so many fragmented groups due to the death of social capital and the invasion of the west by "diversity," and there are so many new things being created at all times by all of these groups that none of them can or will ever be the "big thing" ever again on a widespread cultural level; because there is no widespread cultural level.
you spend too much time here.
theres definitely new celebrities. why do you think they push zendaya so much?
Dune is the current zeitgeist as well for movies
the "big game" is elden ring and fortnite for zoomers
Anyone who was cheering on the corrupt bureaucracy (but I repeat myself) led by a bunch of pencil pushing dweebs is barely even a human, let alone a NV fan
I used to hate New Vegas but now I love it for all the buck breaking it has done to all you ESL pajeets. I've never seen a game break anyone this hard until now
I have been thinking about this lately. When did this shitflinging towards new vegas start? I don't mean anything related to the game itself but the whole troon this troon that. Its weird because for the longest time nobody said anything about this, then Ganker became obsessed with the trannies in their head and suddenly a game that has nothing to do with their obsession gets shitposters dedicated to calling it a troon game because...Ganker users are really vocal about this?
What are you going on about? The amount of shitposting regarding New Vegas was always the same. Its not made by Bethesda, quests, enemies, whatever. The argument was never about trannies. When did it start being about big babies? Does this have something to do with Frontier? Did shitposters who don't lurk enough saw some threads about that whole trainwreck and thought that this was what NV was about so they started this whole shit?
I've heard it was due to either some Italian gay or an Indian. This is from multiple people, but I've seen no proof. All I know is that when I last played NV in 2015, it was still a beloved Ganker classic.
I really don't care one way or the other, but I laugh at all the low effort Chad / 'jak memes showing how superior 3 is.
It's because of some ESL called Fabio who kept spamming images about how FO3 was actually le based and gigachad and FNV was onions and troony, people kept falling for the bait and as a result shartyposters started taking up his mantle and shitflinging in any Fallout thread

Obviously.Who tf seriously though that Ceasar's chads were gonna lose? My brother the NCR stooped so low as to have w*men in their army for fricks sake. They were doomed from the start.
>Grandfather, what killed the NCR? Was it The Legion >No... >The Brotherhood of Steel? >No.. >Mr. House? >No... >The fabled Courier everyone always talks about? >No... >It's own hubris and corruption?!? >No... it was... Hank.... Hank from Vault 33, the strongest force in the wasteland
>no, they didn't lose, they are still a great nation , this was always a case, we just communicated it badly, I am totally not doing a mother of all damage controls, STOP SENDING DEATH THREATS
he always wanted the big factions in the west that weren't in his games gone. he fricked up by trusting the showrunners with the dates. He told them to say the NCR fell apart after New Vegas and they picked the year after Fallout 3 instead.
But that's the openminded and progressive East Coast Brotherhood, not the bigoted Wast Coast Brotherhood that deserved the fire Caesar blessed them with.
So, is all the Brotherhood fricking toasters now? Because first I thought it was just this chapter, but it's too big to be a weird splinter group and they mention getting "Clerics" from the East Chapter?
The chapter in the show IS the one from Fallout 4, they have the Prydwen >i-it's a different airship!
You can very clearly see the name on the side in several shots.
Let's be real, they were never going to show the NCR's slow collapse that was laid out in New Vegas. You aren't going to get criticism of liberal democracy in an Amazon show.
The NCR curbstomped the Brotherhood and held down the Legion while trying to pacify Baja California and dealing with internal issues. They are undisputedly the strongest faction only rivaled by the Legion. But the Legion cant go head to head with them on equal terms
>held down the Legion while trying to pacify Baja California and dealing with internal issues.
Literally only stalled the Legion by sacrificing an entire town, Boulder City, at the end of the first battle of Hoover Dam where the Legion had already over run the Dam. Even with having stalled them all this did is cause Caesar to chuck Graham into the Grand Canyon then begin leveraging every way to undermine the NCR position. The entire game sets up a Legion victory in the Mojave unless the Courier steps in and unfricks the situation. Also none of those internal issues get dealt with if the NCR wins, if anything they get worse because it justifies the entire fricked up situation to that point. The absolute worst thing that could happen to the NCR is winning, because it ensures no change will be made internally and they'll continue retreading the steps of the old world in fast forward to collapse.
[...]

NCR was the Russia of the wasteland. Zerg rush tactics with thousands of conscripts equipped with rags and three-century-old rifles.
Only a few suits of salvaged power armor with improperly trained users and ONE vertibird.
Meanwhile the Brotherhood has a smaller but elite army, most of which is equipped with state of the art weapons and power armor, an entire fleet of vertibirds and fricking airborne aircraft carriers.
NCR is the only faction with an actual order of battle and command chain. They are more or less USA fighting afghanis. BoS are like a semi qualified PMC in comparison. They can throw a punch but can't really take one.
>Meanwhile the Brotherhood has a smaller but elite army, most of which is equipped with state of the art weapons and power armor, an entire fleet of vertibirds and fricking airborne aircraft carriers.
And they are sitting in a bunker, being afraid that big bad NCR is going to eat them.
In the show they feel more like a frat party/cult than anything. Also i don't get how we are supposed to sympathize with Maximus. He is the definition of entitled brat. Even Thaddeus who is presented as a bully hick is smarter and knows more about the stuff that happens in the world than he does.
I'd be fine with Joshua returning to the Legion and winning control of it from Lanius and mellowing them out with religious change. But that subtlety and improvement is too much for Bethesda. So they will probably just have the Legion killed themselves with secessions off screen before the events of the show there will be nothing but tribal raiders left after what was left "retvrn to tradition".
Bonus points for nuking the Legion capital just out of spite or having stronk female slave break free and kill Lanius which caused everything to collapse after losing 2 leaders in rapid succession.
You mean you don't want him to become a caricature, a Joshua Graham skinsuit puppeted by people who will monstrously misinterpret at best, and deliberately misconstrue and villainize at worst?
This thread is filled with people who only played NV and it hurts that they think their takes are serious.
This sentiment applies to every thread about the show.
shit getss nuked randomly all the time in lore, like the divide, the institute, long 15, or legion, scorchbeast queen, monogahan mine... it could also have been a tactical nuke instead of a ballistic one, which it most likely was...
> Nuke a place filled of mutants and monster in first gsme cause you re a lone guy with a small party andnthus shit still make monster if you leave it alone
> Im gonna nuke both places because you nuked muh new home accidentaly doing a gig some days later after delivery
> We have covid bats undeground lets tactical nuke the map to get a legendary explosive shotgun guys
> We raided the mit and killed the nerds lets nuke this technology even tho we re techno knight larpers hoarding technology
>like the divide
The Divide was literally accidental >the Institute
Bethesda >Long 15/Legion
Literally just a gameplay choice, the reality is the Courier almost certainly never nuked a faction in canon >Scorchbeast Queen
Bethesda >Monongah Mine
Bethesda
>Bethesda game or a player choice that goes against what is likely to be canon
Guess Elijah's ending must have happened too, right?

NMAgay bros you realize even tim cain worships the TV show? When will you realize you're fighting demons and that literally nobody actually thinks fallout 1 is relevant anymore. Not even its creator.
Somebody who might want to work on a Fallout game again one day isn't going to shittalk the owners of the IP. And I don't care if God himself starts talking up the show. Think for yourself instead of going with popular consensus just BECAUSE it's popular. It's crap that hasn't been thought out based on past games or even its own premise at all.

Yeah, shittalking other creators (especially those with big corporations behind them) is just rude, because the whole industry is just a circlejerk. I think the only person who even attempted to throw shade at Bethesda for FO3 was Brian Fargo. Which is funny if you know anything about Brian Fargo.

What's the point of having a canon if it doesn't encapsulate all games in a numbered series? You're just shitposting aren't you?
Is it bad that i have no idea who any of the fallout 3 waifus are? Im assuming the one in the vaultsuit was overseers daughter whos name i dont know. Not a clue about the rest. I did beat the game
Amata is the Vault suit, I assume the redhead is Moira due to the experiment comment, blonde is probably Lyons, I forget the "now you're my boyfriend" chicks name but she's in Big Town iirc, and the last is one of the slaves you can buy from either Paradise Falls or Eulogy Jones I forget which.
Obviously. If the NCR kept getting bigger then it wouldn't be a post apocalyptic setting anymore.
I guess Vault Tec really was behind everything. Fo3 implied that it was the aliens. Maybe the highest level of Vault Tec executives are aliens. I would be fine with this.
>Obviously. If the NCR kept getting bigger then it wouldn't be a post apocalyptic setting anymore.
Let’s be real. This is the actual reason they got nuked, can’t have a post apocalyptic show where there’s a nation of 45k people or whatever. So they invented a handy reset button called Hank who set everything back 50 years and probably did something to New Vegas too
They really did remake the West Coast in the image of Fallout 3's and 4's Wasteland, it's funny >Lucy's sub-plot is actually just the Fallout 3 and 4 plots combined >the first settlement that Lucy comes across is Filly, a settlement that Nolan confirmed in an interview is directly inspired by Megaton >Shady Sands "fell" in 2277 and was bombed in 2282, which also wiped all other NCR settlements, citizens, and influence off the map >the only factions in the LA Wasteland are the Brotherhood of Steel and Vault-Tec, with Vault-Tec's executives being an obvious parallel to the Enclave (but with the power of upper management and nuclear weapons, rather than FEV) >somehow, the Enclave returned... but we don't know where their research facility is >LA as a whole is a barren wasteland devoid of civilization except for pre-war landmarks, vaults, and small, unincorporated settlements
It's hilarious. I wonder how much of the show was Bethesda and how much was Amazon, because if it's purely the later they really wrote a perfect adaptation if Bethesda Fallout - just on the West Coast.
>Shady Sands "fell" in 2277 and was bombed in 2282, which also wiped all other NCR settlements, citizens, and influence off the map
it was bombed in 2277 as per show. They fricked up the dates and now are trying to retcon the retcon with the arrow cope
nah the credits show a book at Shady Sands elementary with the last due date being 2276. They 100% meant for it to be nuked in 2277. Also Vault 4 took in refugees from Shady so they definitely know what year it happened since that would've been the year all the refugees came in yet on the chalkboard the nuke drawing doesn't have a year attached to 2277 is the logical conclusion

This is 100% correct, there is no reason fron a writer's perspective to do any of this shit as a pointless "got'cha" moment. The writers quite simply made a mistake and Todd has had to do damage control to fix it.
They also blatantly picked 2277 as the year that Shady Sands fell because that's when Fallout 3 happened. Someone was petty enough to.
They really want to make it a thing that Fallout 3 and 4's vision of Fallout is the correct one. There can not be the reemergence of civilization in Fallout. It will be a wasteland forever
>There can not be the reemergence of civilization in Fallout
well they do write the characters stopping the reemegence of civilisation as obviously evil
They might be portrayed as evil, but Bethesda is using them as a excuse to keep the setting a wasteland. They did the same thing in Fallout 4 where the Institute has been wiping out any attempts at establishing civilization for "security"

>Bethesda is using them as a excuse to keep the setting a wasteland
I have played fallout 4 but didn't do the main quest. I do get the feeling that bethesda is afraid to even attempt to write how people would build an actual small nation, they barely attempt a city-state

Because that would require some worldbuilding chops on their part and Bethesda (and Emil in particular) can't into worldbuilding.
This "what do they eat" meme is actually pretty accurate.
>45k
It’s actually probably in the hundreds of thousands >post apocalypse
Fallout has and always will be how humanity has moved on and rebuilt from the post apocalypse. Not how it’s stagnated by it.
>Fallout has and always will be how humanity has moved on and rebuilt from the post apocalypse. Not how it’s stagnated by it.
This is why every single Fallout game including 1 and 2 are filled with corrupt blatantly immoral factions that take advantage of the player to do their dirty work meanwhile the game beats you over the head with the fact that humanity is pure garbage.
Fallout as a franchise from the start was literally built on the concept of "stagnation"
Things move on but human nature doesn't change yes. That's the point. Bethesda doesn't want anything to ever advance. Nukes going off was their end of history event.
>Bethesda Fallout finally reaches the West Coast, ending the geographic divide between East and West Coast canon >the thing that bridges the divide isn't a game, but a TV adaptation >an Amazon adaptation, at that >to preempt disputes about what is and isn't canon, Bethesda announces, "We view what is happening in the show as canon." >Amazon's first act of business is to add 4 surface-level vaults to LA that the Master conveniently didn't find in his backyard, retcon Shady Sands 150 miles south to LA, bomb Shady Sands in 2277* (4 years before New Vegas), fly the Prydwyn across the entire fricking country so that the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel can kill off the remnants of the NCR, and threaten New Vegas as the setting of season 2 >We're only a week in and Todd is being forced to do damage control, retconning a retcon in an IGN interview
This is more hilarious that I ever would have predicted. I'm genuinely looking forward to Bethesda and Amazon's wild ride continuing in season 2.
I do expect some backpedalling, because I don't think Todd expected THIS much backlash.
But it's going to be funny seeing them go: >nooo, NCR is still around despite the fact that we explicitly told you they are no longer around, we didn't frick up the lore, WE DIDN'T FRICK UP THE LORE!
Fix?
Based on how other tv shows based on video games have gone, this is about as close to lore accurate you're going to get. From here on out it's balls to the walls the writers just making shit up so they can make the show their personal fanfic
There is an INSANE amount of undue optimism about Amazon's ability to write themselves out of the intrigue hole that they've dug. Let's be logical: there's a lot of different, dangling threads of intrigue in season 1, including >Did VaultTec actually instigate the Great War? >What is House's reaction to Vault-Tec's plan? >What will happen to the cold fusion MacGuffin now that it's in the Brotherhood's pissession? >If Shady Sands is the "first capital" of the NCR, is there still an NCR presence elsewhere in California >What will happen with Vault 33's water chip crisis? >What happened to Vault 32? >Where is the Enclave research base and what are they doing? >What was Thaddeus injected with? FEV?
Note that I'm not including actual plot developmemts like Maximus being raised to knight, or Lucy deciding to go with Goggins; or teasers like super mutants being teased. Rather than guess whether Amazon can or can't write compelling answers to these questions, it's wiser to turn to the intrigue that they resolved in season 1.
There is exactly ONE thread of intrigue that they resolved: Moldaver and the what happened to Shady Sands. Moldaver's arc is that she's an antagonist for Lucy for the first 7 episodes before being revealed as an antihero who was wronged by both Vault-Tec and Lucy's father in episode 8. She serves as an exposition dump for Lucy and dies, activating the cold fusion MacGuffin. Moldaver doesn't DO anything from episode 2 to episode 7, even though she is feared and revered across the wasteland. We don't learn how or why she survived the Great War, or why she's the de facto leader of the NCR, or how and why the NCR completely collapsed after the fall of Shady Sands. All we learn is that Hank hated the NCR, and Moldaver hated Vault-Tec. This is likely the end of Moldaver's story because
1. She's fricking dead, and
2. Every pre-war flashback is from Goggins's perspective, and there's a limit to what we can learn from that
There would have been incorporated settlements, or at least evidence on incorporated settlements outside of Shady Sands if it's the first capital of the NCR
Just as an example, LAX is shown as being remarkably intact in the show, but is also just a ruin in the background. Logically, an existing structure like that could and would be inhabited by settlers. It's big, has several high towers including the "dome" structure with 360 degrees visibility, has subterranean areas that are possibly intact, and so on. Ironically, this is how Bethesda designs a lot of their settlements: Megaton is settled because it's a crater, Rivet City because it's an extremely defensible floating fortress, etc. Even Filly is settled around a dump.
Every NCR settlement just seemingly decided to self-destruct and its citizens commit mass suicide, rather than remain in areas which would have been very habitable within the NCR's sovereign territory, even after it fell. Everyone disappeared when a single city fell
>LAX is shown as being remarkably intact in the show, but is also just a ruin in the background. Logically, an existing structure like that could and would be inhabited by settlers.
Hell, we even have precedent for something like that with the Boomers and with the NCR at McCarran, getting the monorail working.
>>What will happen with Vault 33's water chip crisis?
that scene was so weird like they were just doing a bit to be all "hey remember fallout 1?" and then forgot about it like we know from the game that means their vault has a month left before everyone gets kicked out unless the vault dwe- well, lucy, gets another water chip, at which point she will be rejected from the vault anyway for having seen too much of the surface
the story ALSO parallels 3 at every step, lucy looking for her father, father is more mad scientist than people thought ('member james?) filly was like arriving in megaton aka first town for info "hey im looking for my dad, help? *chaos ensues*" etcetera
The parallels are fricking comical even when they slightly diverge >The Lone Wandereer wants to activate Project Purity, but needs an activation code from his father and the GECK >the last thing he sees as he dies activating it is the water in the centrifuge spinning
And again, but with Moldaver filling in for Lucy for ONLY this part because they can't kill Lucy >Moldaver wants to activate the cold fusion reaction, but needs am activation code from Lucy's father and the cold fusion cell >the last thing she sees as she dies activating it is LA lighting up with electricity
THEY DID IT AGAIN
THEY WROTE THE SAME FRICKING STORY
>>Did VaultTec actually instigate the Great War?
this is a popular fan theory but it's also like the theory that jaime lannister is azor ahai. ultimately it doesn't matter. could they have done it? yes because VT is such a multilateral organization that goes far beyond just being a corporation, they are basically the state. so deparments of it could easily act in secrecy from the rest of the organization and perform a small military coup and launch a nuke. its linkage to the military industrial complex on the other hand allowed the sneedclave to hijack the vault projects. they're bascially half of the pre war setting so it's almost pointless to ask if they started the war, because it's almost the same as asking if china or US fired first, which is another thing that doesnt really matter but i think is alright as a subject to explore. >>What is House's reaction to Vault-Tec's plan?
he would probably go along with anything including the sneedclave's operations, considering the average prewar businessman >>What will happen to the cold fusion MacGuffin now that it's in the Brotherhood's pissession?
it will be mothballed or destroyed, since it's another magic power source like the ultracite in fo76 that can't be allowed to escape the setting.
is the Enclave research base and what are they doing?
there are dozens of sneedclave based across the US as shown in the enclave war room in fo2. only raven rock, whitespring, the mobile base crawler and the oil rig and navarro are explored. they have not boxed themselves in in terms of the enclave. they could probably get away with a hecking moonbase enclave.
>it will be mothballed or destroyed, since it's another magic power source like the ultracite in fo76 that can't be allowed to escape the setting.
It really pissed me off as soon pre-war Moldaver mentioned cold fusion research and I realized what the thing in the head was. Like it's so obviously broken for the setting that it might as well be destroyed the second you realize what it is.
what if the "fall of Shady Sands" in 2277 just refers to the NCR capital being moved south?
they moved their capital to the Boneyard and Shady Sands eventually wound up a ghost town in 2277, hence the "fall", then they renamed the Boneyard to Shady Sands sometime between 2277-2281, and in 2282 it was bombed.
That one was a retcon on Obsidian's part. I guess they kinda realized that calling your capital "NCR" when it's already a name of a country sounds dumb. So they reverted back to Shady Sands, to avoid the confusion whether you are talking about the city or the nation.
It's like naming Washington DC "USA".
No, this is because the NCR capital where Shady Sands was in 1 is called "NCR" in Fallout 2. Yes, it's really dumb and doesn't actually matter at all. as the other anon said this is basically a minor retcon for logic's sake.
So, explain the shot in the Shady Sands school, where all the dates end in 2277.
Also, if you know anything about NCR, they would NEVER abandon the original Shady Sands, that is a part of their national identity. They are still venerating Aradesh in NV, even after 150 years.
The only lore-acurate explanation is that Maldy was leading some separatist group that separated from NCR and settled in Angel's Boneyard, for some reason renaming Adytum to Shady Sands. While the "real" NCR is just a bit north from here, being very confused about the whole thing.
>pre shady sands nuke sign shown in the series says FIRST capital of NCR along with the population at that given moment >COPING YOURER COPING OBSIDIAN GOOD
>conveniently moves the bombing of Shady Samds to riiight after the events of New Vegas >we're really threading the needle with these dates guys, just trust us
All jokes aside, I haven't been able to look at Todd the same way since that Starfield performance interview that went wrong. Sometimes you just have to tell those sweet little lies and hope your boyish charm makes people forget what you are at the end of the day.
>bomb Shady Sands in 2277* (4 years before New Vegas), >Fallout: New Vegas stars a Courier tasked with delivering a package to New Vegas which, you guessed it, is the post-nuclear war successor to Las Vegas, Nevada. However, the Courier winds up caught between a local factional war between the New California Republic and Ceasar's Legions that threatens to destabilize the entire region.
>And as Howard tells IGN, Shady Sands is destroyed sometime after the events of Fallout: New Vegas.
>Did the boomers drop a nuke on Shady Sands
No, Vault-Tec did. They're like the Reapers now apparently and they want Humanity to develop along a path that they desire.
How do vault dwellers "Drop" bombs is what I was getting at in a roundabout way.

You could literally just drop it into the well in Shady Sands and achieve that desired affect.
>How would Vault-Tec nuke anyone that they don't have a direct tunnel under?
By firing it normally like they did with the first nukes.
They're actually Umbrella Corp that has accidentally jumped universes but still want to rule the world and shape it in their image after wiping it out first.

How could I forget the one that shows Vegas in utter ruins with what looks like the aftermath of a war between the Strip and NCR that was interrupted by a nuke?

No matter how you spin it, everything about the "Fall of Shady Sands" is written from the perspective that it was an extremely tragic, disruptive event that caused life as the NCR knew it to end. I'm talking from an aesthetic perspective. >an empty classroom that was in the middle of a history lesson remembering the fall of Shady Sands that ends with the image of a bomb going off >the survivors perform some insane blood ritual with the ASHES of the dead to remember Shady Sands >a library book that stops being checked out in 2026, calling back to the earlier juxtaposition of the Shady Sands library sign and the crater
Every image and association in this episode points towards "bomb": drawing of a mushroom cloud, ashes, book and crater. It's so incredibly obvious that they made a mistake, and it happened to be a big one so now they have retcon their retcon. I don't really care, I just think it's an interesting flub from Amazon.
It was the world's most obvious damage control interview, what do you expect? It's surprising that the piece didn't end with the interviewer asking if it was okay to get down on both knees and beg for forgiveness for those dang uppity gamers.
>Shady Sands is destroyed sometime after the events of Fallout: New Vegas (2277) see
wait
The ncr was nuked by the events of New Vegas? >new vegas (2281) >after (2281+)
doesn't math. I can see why people are being autistic. for the time being im going to "pretend" bethesda are moronic and that time is convoluted so it just works. I can enjoy NV and a tv show. I didn't think
Invincible
would be good since the whole concept is "parodies of superheros from other studios" but god damn was I wrong about that.
You know what, a company that bought a license is not capable of deciding a canon and will never be. In fact that is the general rule from here on out. I call it the New Vegas law, just to spite bethesha and its army of saars.
The Legion also lost, if it even existed in the first place considering that moving Shady Sands just to have it nuked in the show fricks up the legion too.
Caesar is from the city that was supposed to be where Shady Sands is in the show. At best, moving his starting city to an entirely different area complicates things.
they purposefully left the date out of the equation to not limit their options but somehow the moron masses took it to mean that because there is no date given between the two sections, it means the sections happened simulatenously even though in previous sections there was a seperation of time
it seems it's just a narrative against bethesda by the usual suspects. people really need to just chill and realize they aren't going to fricking de-canonize entire games because of some shit you see on a screen for 2 sec
Nobody thought they were making New Vegas non canon. People are pissed because it seems they can't be bothered to remember their own canon, and just wiped out all the lore for the West Coast to turn it into another Capital Wasteland.
It makes New Vegas pointless, and it's completely silly as the faction that just few decades earlier were almost completely broken somehow toppled a nation state with thousands of soldiers
there is also the sign showing the population of shady sands and saying it was the first capital
meaning NCR still exists with the hub probably as the capital
i've been saying this and i'm gonna keep saying it, new vegas is the provincial capital of NCR.
if they get nuked that would immediately make them chimp the frick out, it would make sense for them to claim new vegas as a major hub at the very least, the strip ending visual with its dead securitrons just lends itself to this more.
House wouldn't allow that to happen. I'm of the theory that the NCR got tired of House and tried to take over the Strip by force. The canon end to FNV being House Always Wins in this continuity. But I'd assume the Dam was nuked first by Vault-tek and sent Vegas into crisis which spurred the NCR into trying their luck.
The NCR only needed Hoover Dam for power on the frontier and as a supplementary generator to the home front. It’s not like they had zero stable power in the home front
It's clear from most of the troops they hated being in the Mojave, other than on the strip itself. I cna't imaging many would stay even if they did win the second battle for Hoover Dam, only as a standing force.
>fall of a nation
its says "fall of shady sands"
There's no mention of how the other parts of the NCR are faring. With the small rabble of raiders that we get aren't exactly giving me hope.
Vegas eats a ton of power. That power comes from the dam and House panicked when the people showed up to interfere with it. Nuking the Dam would send the strip into chaos without power to maintain much and the NCR always wanted possession of the Strip itself not just as an independent city-state within their borders.
They have better, much more convenient options for a capital than fricking New Vegas. Like New Arroyo or Vault City.
Also, nobody bothered to point out that LA/Boneyard is completely trashed despite the fact that by 2277, it was a fully restored city, with an university and whatnot. It's not just Shady Sands being nuked. EVERYTHING rdverted back 200 years.
I’m more puffed that they’re still pretending like raiders are a big thing in California. They were already on the decline by fallout 2. NCR citizens in New Vegas say that virtually nobody deals with them any more
A university means that they can afford to spend resources on education rather than have someone working full time. That alone says something about the state of that area and how it was doing well enough for that.
By the time of new Vegas everyone in NCR proper has life so good that people only go east tot he frontier because they find life boring, safe and stable. People work jobs, pay taxes have insurance etc. for all intents and purposes life has returned to 20th to early 21st century standards

That's the thing - their portrayal of Shady Sands is wrong. There were no pre-war skyscrapers there. It was a city of concrete abodes built from scratch. That was NCR's hat, they were rebuilding everything they got their hands on, usually from ground up.
I actually agree. It's just moronic enough to be likely, it's in that sweet spot of "cosmically funny": the NCR gets the retconned to fricking death in California in the dumbest possible way, but they win New Vegas and Hoover Dam against all odds. There's also a crashed NCR vertibird among the securitron wrecks in the credits sequence, too.
Then I'd like to ask what counts as the fall of a nation. The off of Rome is typically considered the sacking of it, though it was in decline before then. We know that the NCR had issues with trade and overextention, but that doesn't scream to that Shady Sands were in such dire straits.
Them moving the location fricks things up lorewise anyway. No Boneyard means no universities, no Followers of the Apocalypse, no Caesar. They've still effectively gutted two main factions
shady sands isn't their nation, it's not even portrayed as a major part of the NCR i think. they are being conservative with the setting and have already stated that it's "localized". shady sands gets very few mentions after fallout 2, so it doesn't really matter what ends up happening to them. what is more interesting is that the nuking is going to set off some alarm bells, NCR are already engaged in a war with legion+BoS, now they are already being engaged by vault tec which they might not even know did the nuking. the point i think is that they've extended far too much and are paying the price, as for the actual logistical reason for why shady sands is nuked, ie. because rosie mclean finds it and consequently lets some vault tec c-suits find out about it is pretty weird.
>Them moving the location fricks things up lorewise anyway
doesn't seem that way to me, the boneyard is being shown being lit up after they plug in the cold fusion, how would that happen if they nuked it?
The only real issue was the Legion and only because the REALLY elite NCR troops were busy in Baja. By 2281, the mainland BoS was mainly pacified, with some resistance here and there.
Oh, right, NCR also annexed Baja in the meantime. That doesn't sound like a nation on the verge of collapse.
Why would Vault-Tec executive Hank MacLean, whose belief it is that any faction other than Vault-Tec rebuilding civilization in the wasteland is a threat to Vault-Tec, decide to wait years after his wife revealead that there was another faction rebuilding civilization in the wasteland to nuke said faction's capital? Why would he specifically wait until Shady Sands "fell" due to an entirely unspecified, unrelated event? If the "Fall of Shady Sands" caused a complete collapse of the NCR in LA, then there was no need to nuke it's already fallen capital and murder the mother of his children, who are the world to him. If the "Fall of Shady Sands" did not cause a complete collapse, then the refugees would have dispersed to other settlements in the NCR's heartland of LA until Shady Sands was resettled before Hank nuked it in 2282 - which wouldn't matter because the NCR's sovereign power would be more diffuse and resilient as a result of the first "fall".
Why would he specifically wait a minimum of 5 years after the "Fall of Shady Sands", so that the bombing occurred in 2282, after the events of Fallout: New Vegas?
The answer to every one of these questions is that you're a homosexual.
>Why would he specifically wait a minimum of 5 years after the "Fall of Shady Sands", so that the bombing occurred in 2282, after the events of Fallout: New Vegas?
Because Todd needs him to wait 5 years, so that the timeline fits. What do you not understand?
> wait a minimum of 5 years after the "Fall of Shady Sands
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense however you slice it.
If Shady Sands is already pretty much gone by the time he lets off the bomb, what's the point? Because from here the point seems to be to make him look like a bad guy, to make Lucy's mother go up there and become a ghoul for her to find later, and to obliterate a growing civilization so they can have the same wasteland without complications.
Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, any of those. Hell, even the edges of North California could be an interesting landscape to flesh out, and they could feasibly have leftover supermutants, wildlife that's escaped Big MT, and might still be rather desolate and tribal.
I really think that any argument that devolves into canon nit-picking is a bad faith stupidity trap, because the fact is that the first thing Amazon did was move Shady Sands a hundred miles south just because they wanted to blow it up. That's the only thing that needs to be said, no spin, any further discussion is simply unnecessary.
Yeah, the very fact that it got moved for this plot already throws everything about it in a bad light right off the bat.
Everything else around that they can dance around, but either the creators of the show didn't bother to find out where it really was, or they did it deliberately. Neither give me any confidence.

I mean, it's convenient. You don't need to justify how character A got to place B, they just appear to move the story along. Stacy and Tyrone won't notice anyway, so who cares. People teleporting around has been a plague in recent shows, and the worldbuilding suffers, but only autists notice such things, so why should showrunners put any effort?

You don't really need a lot to show the passage of time though. A motorway way sign indicating how many miles, and the characters growing a 5oclock shadow, some added dirt and wear on their clothes. That sort of thing.
That is more of a personal gripe though, I know most media won't do that.
exactly. makes no sense. when lucy lived there with the mother and her dyke gf, shady sands looked well functioning. so she must have lived there before any fall. but then hank takes lucy back to the vault and waits....6 or 7 years before nuking it? what the frick? how does that make any sense?
>FALL OF SHADY SANDS WASN'T IN 2277 >can never explain what the fall was >can't explain why the library record stops in 2276 >can't explain why shady sands is located on LA, instead of miles north >can't point to a single example in the history of mankind where the "fall" of a city was used to describe a declining period instead of quick turmoil
Are the people that watch this show this moronic? >BUT TODD SAID
Todd lies so much it's a meme. Or do you think Fallout 3 has 200 endings?
He didn't even confirmed it. >SO SHADY SAND FALL AND THE NUKE ARE DIFFERENT HUH
Possibly >SO THE FALL WASN'T NECESSARILY A NUKE HUH HUH HUH
Not necessarily
Remember Todd's original comment about the show being canon >We VIEW what's HAPPENING in the show as canon.
The language is deliberately passive so that Bethesda can distance themselves if it was poorly received or Amazon actually fricked up. I'm not alleging a conspiracy, I'm just alleging PR speak.
I never liked NCR when I DID play new vegas, and I did all 4 faction ending playthroughs (without dlc)
they're so fricking lazy "hey "vault dweller"" go do, literally everything, for us" "oh you want us to reinforce OUR OWN OUTPOST? sorry something something supplies backed up something lack of troops something radios" frick those guys im glad they're dead unironically.
*oh and I didn't even mention the repeating history thing. they are just the old world government reforming despite the enclave exist so now there is two. thats how you get the nuclear apocalypse, logically.
don't side with NCR. pick yourself (yes man) at least for frick sake.
>despite the enclave exist
Enclave's been nuked so many times it realistically shouldn't exist anymore. And Enclave wasn't "the USA". It was the "deep state' like post-apocalyptic Cigarette-Smoking Man and he's cronies.
NCR is trying to create a proper democracy, being a melting pot of various cultures and identities.
enclave is continuity of government and if you think "thats not the real america" I suggest you google continuity of government.
there is no such thing as "a real democracy" its all bullshit.
I really hope bad shit happens to the Brotherhood in S2 and they get decimated. I'm getting really fricking tired of Bethesda Fallout endlessly wanking them off and vaguely hiding behind lame attempts to show them being slightly self important. The fricking Fallout4 airship is the most disgusting thing they could have possibly brought back and creates such weird lore implications.
The institute is moronic but I hope it's revealed that the Brotherhood in the show is a trojan horse of Synths sent to stop the Brotherhood from threatening the Institute ever again.
And the stupid voice changing for power armor is so cringe. They sound like offbrand Dreadnaughts or Bollywood Darth Vader.
i thought they showed BoS as incompetent schizo baboons and i enjoyed it. they send an entire platoon of knights to hunt down a single target and somehow some vault moron beats them to it. also to be fair the airship is from tactics.
I am not exaggerating when I say that Bethesda will never, EVER allow the Brotherhood to die as a major faction. Remember that this is the same Bethesda that wrote the West Virginia BoS (lol) all dying at the end of 76 because it would have been too contradictory even for Bethesda to let them live... and then released multiple DLCs involving the BoS.
The BoS IS Bethesda Fallout. At most, you'll get the fascist technocrat flavor rather then the reformed, Fallout 3 flavor and you'll be happy.
Oh its not a subscription service? My bad, I dont watch any media made for golems so all these service providers are unknown to me.

OMG THIS IS SOO BAD
I did NCR on my first playthrough, most people probably did. Though every subsequent playthroughs you start to pick up all the little things showing corruption, ineptitude and instability within the NCR.
First playthrough NCR, subsequent playthroughs House when not doing achievements. Yes Man is a cop-out version of House's ending designed to moron-proof the game, I like picking House because his ending's flaws promise much more interesting political and interpersonal conflict than >and then the Courier realized he'd made a horrible mistake as he helplessly watched corrupt bureaucracy consume itself m
omg was that vegas at the end? It has my favoritest joke in the world: "They asked me if I had a degree in theoretical physics and I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard." Fricking kek
>New Vegas is a blatantly unfinished game that requires 300 mods to work properly
No it doesn't. Literally all you NEED is maybe YUP and NVTF for modern hardware. That's it, and if you really want to play full vanilla it's quite doable with no issues.
People spend all that time modding the game to something nearly unrecognisable because they like the world and wish it had more modern FPS gunplay.
>has a crash once within 6 hours >NOOOOOOO THIS IS LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE!
Meanwhile I can go boot up some AAAslop from M$/Snoy, it might have a perfect port with no technical issues, but it's still a shit game that does nothing of interest and just exists purely for making money.
Except discussing a linear JRPG with girly men in it is gay as frick not at all like discuss New Vegas the ugly sandbox of kino
You're probably a homosexual who is gay for troony Cloud or troony Sephiroth if you don't see it
If they were New Vegas NPCs I'd kill those homosexuals
The game is alright, and I usually try to never let fanbases influence my opinions on things, but online discourse has definitely made my opinion of NV worsen and worsen over time.
NV is my favorite game in the franchise but the NV fanboys that never played the classics but parrot the bethesda bad NMAgay babble piss me off because it's this crowd that numbers significantly higher than the irrelevant NMAgays that todd has to cater to. It's great that the show just disregards all the fanbases equally. Bethesdababs because no le hecking BoS being heroes of the story, NVbabs because NCR is just nuke fodder.
nta but that's even worse

No, you idiot, NCR as a nation is expanding, and logically, it needs more resources. It has nothing to do with Shady Sands being unsustainable.
It's like saying "13 colonies are going to fall any second now, because they are rapidly expanding".

so nations expand because they just like to expand and it's on their daily agenda?
or mayhaps they expand because they are necessitated to do so, like the pre-war US did by annexing canada. nooooooo that is too confusing!! WTF!!!! they are growing thats why they annexed anchorage... me smart!

>so nations expand because they just like to expand and it's on their daily agenda?
Yes, you normally expand to secure more resources to make your nation richer and more influential. FNV intro flat out says that NCR were seeking "territory and wealth".

NCR were experiencing water shortages, Shady Sands stagnated. They needed to expand to secure arable land and a water source to keep growing.

That's not conveyed in any of the lore. They're predicting food shortages due increasing population, not water scarcity.

Hanlon briefly mentions not seeing the sun rise over lakes because they've pumped them all dry along with the aquifers back home. Other than this one conversation with Chief Hanlon no one ever mentions it in any other capacity.

Yeah
Just because there's no longer any superficial large bodied of water, doesn't mean they don't have water
An overwhelming amount of aquifers are underground

I just explained why, no date given for the nuke yet a hard date given for the fall.
>be me >president kimball of the NCR >our boys fighting for the dam need a good kick in the dick >chief of staff organizes a speech at Hoover Dam itself, great idea >we've got multiple rangers and a rising war hero in the NCR working security since we're within spitting distance of the Arizona state football team >all clear >don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked >whew, made can't believe I kept my head thACK
You think you want to see Legion again, but just look what happened to the NCR. The Legion will be mercilessly mocked for its politics and erased if it shows up.
It's better off that the show finishes whatever bullshit wankery it's doing in the ruins of New Vegas and fricks off to somewhere else.
They literally did a The Force Awakens
They did a Jar Jar Abraham
It's hilarious how obvious it is they haven't figured out what they want to do with this show like they didn't plan ahead even a little bit just like the Star Wars sequel trilogy
It's as if Amazon doesn't want to ever beat HBO or even 2010s AMC
Pretty much.
It's a soft reboot so they can do Fallout 3 all over again.
Everyone fails so that the new female OC donut steal and her black friend can save the wasteland.
Don't be shocked if female OC falls in love with some dark brooding Enclave leader
forget hank, why the frick would the mother sit around on her ass for 5-7 years and not get her children back? she could have easily went to the vault with mulva and killed everyone who resisted and killed hank too while getting her children back. shit makes no sense no matter how you look at it.
She didn't actually want the children and was busy "finding herself". Happens enough in real life that I wouldn't bat an eye at it being the reason here.
Can't wait for Lucy and the previous fallout protagonists yes even The vault dweller and Chosen one team up and defeat the big bad vault tec avengers style!
>fallout brother hood of steel was super nationalist >gays and lesbians were literally banned >not sure about blacks but i would assume so >TV show brotherhood of steel has literal troony in ranks and even uses "they/them" pronounces
Clown show
In Tactics the west coast had to recruit but yeah, they're typically very insular. I think Veronica kept her being a lesbian very close to her chest with her fellow BoS members, and I would imagine she may still have been expected to carry a child at some point.
Its funny how Showrighters made every person with Power in show either Female or Black. However the only saving grace of this dogshit, the shining diamond was white male (should i say red male) ghoul, (and even here they showed in interracial couple)
Cant wait how he will become useless trash in season 2 and Strong independant Female Lucy will have to save him in every episode
Yeah, Bethesda completely abandoned the art deco style in favour of rusty shantytowns.
If anything pre-War LA should look like Gotham or 1920 Metropolis.
illuminati guy thought he was protecting his daughter with warped ideals caused by years of ego and power via money so he nuked a neutral at worst faction and his own wife, because protocol.
"Bud's Buds" in Vault 31 are all about one word: management! >unfreeze an executive assistant >the first situation he has to manage that isn't whether to make cake or jello for the office gals is mismanaged so hard that he exposes Vault-Tec's evil plan to multiple people >including one who has 14 years to propagandize a paramilitary organization and who knows who else against you >including his own daughter, who fricking hates him >the only thing he can think of to do is bail and immediately run all the fricking way from LA to New Vegas for some sort of 1-man suicide mission
Good shit, Bud
thats what happens when you treat everything in the world as sales, and why when people mention sales as a measure of success in video games I tell them to go to Ganker or seek new employment in a fricking bank. video games need passion else they are just "slop" like everything else is turning into.
most people don't get it and think ripping each other off is life. if you think that I personally think you should just fricking have a nice day and im not inclined to keep this opinion to myself anymore due to the state of things.
I don't think Todd wants to piss off New Vegas fanbase, if only it's monetarily unwise. And he wants to use all that cool NV imagery, so deeming it non-canon is unwise.
So, he'll probably force Amazon to unfrick this shit after he realized the how big the backlash is and that his assurances are not really flying right now.
>create civilisation >reach a certain milestone >salty pre nuke corpos with fantasies of re settling America nuke you to death >restart
1) what's the point of anything then just leave the vault and resettle Black folk every time you nuke you will have to wait longer
2)how the frick can vault 32 still just have functioning nukes to fire at whoever they want whenever they want 200 years later.
Am I genuinely autistic? Fallout show is being feverishly paraded for "game accuracy" but whenever you try to point out clearly inaccurate things (not just Fallout lore turbo-autism that you can know only if you've played original games, the show also directly contradicts Todd's games at least with basic example being how ghouls becoming feral works now) you are suddenly an incel and shouldn't care about things like that. How does it work like that?
stop using twitter and all that goes away. you're not an incel for pointing out shit writing. you're an incel if you cant get laid in current year (why bother amirite)
I saw some normalgay going on about how much it must mean for the series to have stable power again. Even though people had accomplished that 175 years ago
I mean, for Stacy and Tyrone, it's enough for the show to look and sound like the game and that the show does well. For the FO3/4 players at least.
I've had plenty of arguments with people that I know are Fallout 1/2 fans and should know better, I keep hearing "it's the adaptations sacred right to adapt things their way and make changes". When I point out that Todd Howard made it canon and that contradicts the lore, I'm a buzzkill, because "the show is fun".
I guess there might be also societal pressure at play, like with BG3. You don't criticize because it's the "cool thing" to like it.
No, it's just classic shilling tactics
The show is good because it cares about Gamers™ and the Lore®, which differentiate it from bad shows that don't do that. However pointing out how it doesn't care about these things would mean it's a bad show that disregards the Fans™, so suddenly these things don't matter anymore, and it's a (You) problem that you care about it
Happened in everyone one of these adaptations.
Castlevania was good because it replicated the game, then it turned Alucard into a homosexual and now the game didn't matter
I actually didn't mind that Alucard takes the wiener, he always looked fruity to me anyway. What I did mind is them cutting Grant from Castlevania 3 adaptation, which I don't actually strongly mind in of itself, however the explanation we were given is that they thought pirate would be too silly for the show and then season 2 introduced a ginger viking vampire.
It's because, as so many others have pointed out, Bethesda Fallout is a twisted imitation of all of Fallout's imagery with none of its deeper meaning. And the show is honestly a great adaptation of Bethesda Fallout.
For example, why does the Brotherhood bless its knights with a censor? Why are its initiates so sexually repressed? Well, it's because the BoS leverages the conventions of medieval monastic orders. Why? Well, they just do, that's what the BoS is on the West Coast.
But this is wrong. The BoS resembled strictly hierarchical monastic order because it resonated with the setting of Fallout 1, which was more analogous to the Christian dark ages than the post-post-apocalypse. I mean, it's right there: the brotherhood hoards "relics". The medieval parallel of the post-post-apocalypse would be the emergence of secular centers of power around economic centers in Europe, which reduced the power and political authority of monasteries. This is why the BoS struggled to reinvent itself in 2 and NV, because its structure no longer fit the world it was living in.
The Bethesda BoS doesn't change, nor does it stagnate. It is a brand designed to be recognized, perhaps with a novel twist to entertain you. These people you're seekng on Twitter? This is for them.
Isn't it wonderful that Todd owned the IP for longer than Black Isle/Interplay and hasn't introduced a single concept with same staying power as the ones introduced by Black Isle/Interplay in the 90s that he keeps regugitating.
Unironically Nate the Rake will be remembered more than anything Todd has ever introduced to the series.
I thought they also mentioned that the NCR managed to frick up all the soil again after the having the Boone of the GECK due to over farming. Which doesn’t make sense either. Easier you’d think a farmers almanac would be included in the package that provides the starter resources to produce clean land and food again to avoid that very problem
Is that the guy from Twin Peaks?
yep
I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo confused when I saw him because I didn't recognize his "old" look at all. Like my brain actually refused to piece it together.
it does look weird, really uncanny
damn dude. I really should check out his whole cinematography out. He's a nice actor
You're not alone. As soon as I saw him I was like
>That's Coop!... but it can't be!
and I looked up the cast, saw "Hank MacLean" and assume that was the name of some MacLachlan lookalike I'd never heard of.
You have to watch twin peaks the return.
is that the new one? I watched it and while it was ayylmao I still liked it a lot. I really hope we get more soon. It's been almost a decade again
>I really hope we get more soon
Anon, it's time to let go. We were lucky Lynch even decided to make S3.
>I really hope we get more soon.
That won't happen, and I think it's for the best. I just hope Lynch gets out one more great movie before he dies.
>actor looks different in two shows that are 34 years apart
>brain doesn't piece it together
Pop culture has really homogenized after some point.
not quite. there are so many fragmented groups due to the death of social capital and the invasion of the west by "diversity," and there are so many new things being created at all times by all of these groups that none of them can or will ever be the "big thing" ever again on a widespread cultural level; because there is no widespread cultural level.
you spend too much time here.
theres definitely new celebrities. why do you think they push zendaya so much?
Dune is the current zeitgeist as well for movies
the "big game" is elden ring and fortnite for zoomers
>zendaya
Who?
i see it now, the de-oldification could've been less noticeable if they'd brought down his hairline an inch or so
The rigging was just really bad. Even in a still you can see the mouth is fricked up.
Yes. Mr Peaks.
HIS NAME IS MR JACKPOTS!!!!!!
Yeah that's John Peaks. IDK where his brother is
Yes the guy from Showgirls
Yes
It's also unfortunately the guy from Twin Peaks season 3
Cooper The Crazy Cop is back
And from Blue Velvet and Dune '84, yes
nah that's the dad from agents of shield
No, that's the guy from Hidden (1987)
Yes that's Paul Atreides from Twin Peaks.
Yeah he played Dougie Jones
Cuck
I can’t believe NV fans are now chuds and not trannies because the NCR fandom got their panties in a twist over losing
Anyone who was cheering on the corrupt bureaucracy (but I repeat myself) led by a bunch of pencil pushing dweebs is barely even a human, let alone a NV fan
Ah a fellow legionnaire
He did nothing wrong
And Moldaver, Rose, and Lucy all won
love it when obsiditroons are seething
I used to hate New Vegas but now I love it for all the buck breaking it has done to all you ESL pajeets. I've never seen a game break anyone this hard until now
I have been thinking about this lately. When did this shitflinging towards new vegas start? I don't mean anything related to the game itself but the whole troon this troon that. Its weird because for the longest time nobody said anything about this, then Ganker became obsessed with the trannies in their head and suddenly a game that has nothing to do with their obsession gets shitposters dedicated to calling it a troon game because...Ganker users are really vocal about this?
Honestly, when New Vegas gays proved they were big babies with fragile egos who react easily to obvious bait. Anons scented blood.
>When did this shitflinging towards new vegas start?
When some literal autistic Ranjeet got shat on. He's the Ranjeet version of Black personrell.
It's because of some ESL called Fabio who kept spamming images about how FO3 was actually le based and gigachad and FNV was onions and troony, people kept falling for the bait and as a result shartyposters started taking up his mantle and shitflinging in any Fallout thread
I've heard it was due to either some Italian gay or an Indian. This is from multiple people, but I've seen no proof. All I know is that when I last played NV in 2015, it was still a beloved Ganker classic.
I really don't care one way or the other, but I laugh at all the low effort Chad / 'jak memes showing how superior 3 is.
some Gankertard was mad that FONV is Gankercore for decade and decided to start spamming facebook meme -tier wojack shit spam against FONV and some people picked it up and copy the tard either because they thought its funny or because they're schizos that want attention.
There has been push back against New Vegas since at least that era (i.e. 2015). I remember someone mentioning in person how much they disliked it.
2-3 years ago when the italian moron kept spamming his shit dozens a times a day. As usual when something gets spammed hard enough it ends up being a meme.
the troon shit started because some twitter troons started making memes about the Fallout New Vegas to troony pipeline
It's really funny.
Obviously.Who tf seriously though that Ceasar's chads were gonna lose? My brother the NCR stooped so low as to have w*men in their army for fricks sake. They were doomed from the start.
>Grandfather, what killed the NCR? Was it The Legion
>No...
>The Brotherhood of Steel?
>No..
>Mr. House?
>No...
>The fabled Courier everyone always talks about?
>No...
>It's own hubris and corruption?!?
>No... it was... Hank.... Hank from Vault 33, the strongest force in the wasteland
You can nuke the NCR as the courier too and they still exist so this joke doesn't really work that well.
you nook-ook i-15, not the ncr proper you dumb fricking shit
>we will never go to boulder an New Canaan
frick 'thesda
This shit again...
Stop repeating shit you read here.
It makes you look stupid as frick because it's not true.
Imagine playing NV for 100 hours only to support a faction that gets nuked out of existence after the ending slides kek
Nobody supported the NCJ (New California israelites). They wanted to end the wild west age with their israelitery
The only israelite is the burned man nobody else in the game quotes the torah
off screened on top of that
I love Kyle. Can I just watch his episode, or is he recurring and important to an overarching narrative?
First episode and final episode.
He's literally the entire reason the plot happens.
Just to lucy but unless you like cowboy ghoul skip it
>Waits 200+ years to take over the surface
>Completely shocked others have beaten them to it.
Guys, I think Vault-Tec might be moronic.
>no, they didn't lose, they are still a great nation , this was always a case, we just communicated it badly, I am totally not doing a mother of all damage controls, STOP SENDING DEATH THREATS
he always wanted the big factions in the west that weren't in his games gone. he fricked up by trusting the showrunners with the dates. He told them to say the NCR fell apart after New Vegas and they picked the year after Fallout 3 instead.
You can be a bear, or you can be a bull.
What's it gonna be?
Frick... My friend told me some of the choices you make in this game was gonna be hard...
I guess I'll pick the bear, bears are kinda cool.
idk I'm kind of divided
HA
So, the Tunnelers ate him, right?
grunch
>Have I truly become an Italian?
>*dances on the Vegas strip*
>helllooooooooooooo
AVE! TRUE TO CAESAR!
>Libtard tv show writers made the "Government/Police" faction get nuked off the face of the map because
Colored me surprise
Which is weird, because the Brotherhood was super against the gays back when they lost to the NCR.
Which I guess means they won the Boston Conflict?
The chapter in the show IS the one from Fallout 4, they have the Prydwen
>i-it's a different airship!
You can very clearly see the name on the side in several shots.
Let's be real, they were never going to show the NCR's slow collapse that was laid out in New Vegas. You aren't going to get criticism of liberal democracy in an Amazon show.
at least they didn't go the way of Twisted Metal where they turned all the cop characters from the games into evil and incompetent psychos
I hate when people force realism into my video game shows
>Twisted Metal
>complaining that characters are turned evil
Zoomers will just repeat anything they hear from Youtube gays, won't they?
anon, I think you're the zoomer moron who repeats shit he saw on youtube, even in Black, the darkest TM game, the cops are the good guys
Why is psychotic man seething autistically about the show? It's fairly decent so far.
>Some random vaultie is capable of nuking down the strongest faction in the games
BETHESSLOP WRITING
>She didn't watch
He's neither random nor are the NCR the strongest faction in the games.
They flat out are. Who else is there? Legion?
Enclave obviously. They could nuke Neutered Cuck Rodeo any time they wanted to.
The NCR curbstomped the Brotherhood and held down the Legion while trying to pacify Baja California and dealing with internal issues. They are undisputedly the strongest faction only rivaled by the Legion. But the Legion cant go head to head with them on equal terms
They re juts a bad mix of russia and usa gear in vietnam war with less bombing and napalm
They're literally a thousand times more organized than the rest of the Wasteland
They're so organized they line up to be gunned down en masse.
Never said the Wasteland was a high bar
>headcanon
Not in gear in new vegas if it wasnt for the rangers they would get raped
>held down the Legion while trying to pacify Baja California and dealing with internal issues.
>NCR
>strongest
Found the /k NAFO Troon
COUNTRY ROADS TAKE ME HOMMEEE
Maxson would wipe his ass with the NCR. The Mojave BoS pales in comparison.
Ave, true to Caesar
is that special agent cooper
> Im gonna ruin this moronic Game about cowboys and romans
Caesar is dead by the time of the show, so the legion probably mellowed out anyway
>Joshua Graham in a Bethesda Fallout
Please lord Jesus Christ no
I'm begging you
I like that idea.
> I have been bapticed twice, one pure water revelation 21:6, second OUR LORD ATOM FIRE PRAYSE BE ATOM...
You mean you don't want him to become a caricature, a Joshua Graham skinsuit puppeted by people who will monstrously misinterpret at best, and deliberately misconstrue and villainize at worst?
No , because ironically thats ullyses only good quote without bear and bulls about the moronic evil tribe of honest hearts
That you can metaphor to bethesda fallouts and the tv show
Joshua takes the name Constantine and founds Constantinople in Colorado Springs.
>yfw Hank is the courier
FATHER
Its nu dune a remake?
They're both based on a book series
OG Dune had some of the shittiest effects I've ever seen
>OG Dune had some of the shittiest effects I've ever seen
that doesn't matter
It had kino performances however
Why did he do it?
I mean actually ,why the frick did he do it? Management and HR is his skill, Shady Sands is valuable human capital.
This thread is filled with people who only played NV and it hurts that they think their takes are serious.
This sentiment applies to every thread about the show.
homie i played all fallouts and the nuke its dumb so im more validated to shit at
It IS dumb but some of the takes in this thread are even dumber.
shit getss nuked randomly all the time in lore, like the divide, the institute, long 15, or legion, scorchbeast queen, monogahan mine... it could also have been a tactical nuke instead of a ballistic one, which it most likely was...
Most of that are dogshit even the latest obsidian dlc
>"omg nukes r so dumb!!"
>ok but it happens all the time
>"NOOO IT'S LE DUMB"
> Nuke a place filled of mutants and monster in first gsme cause you re a lone guy with a small party andnthus shit still make monster if you leave it alone
> Im gonna nuke both places because you nuked muh new home accidentaly doing a gig some days later after delivery
> We have covid bats undeground lets tactical nuke the map to get a legendary explosive shotgun guys
> We raided the mit and killed the nerds lets nuke this technology even tho we re techno knight larpers hoarding technology
why's your text all green
To remind it
It's what text in Fallout games look like
>like the divide
The Divide was literally accidental
>the Institute
Bethesda
>Long 15/Legion
Literally just a gameplay choice, the reality is the Courier almost certainly never nuked a faction in canon
>Scorchbeast Queen
Bethesda
>Monongah Mine
Bethesda
>NOOO THAT DOESN'T COUNT!!!!!
>Bethesda game or a player choice that goes against what is likely to be canon
Guess Elijah's ending must have happened too, right?
And yes, Bethesda games don't count. They're barely worth being considered Fallout games.
>what is likely to be canon
Translation: My schizo headcanon
My headcanon is literally more accurate to the West Coast lore than Bethesda's shitheap of slop products.
Somebody who might want to work on a Fallout game again one day isn't going to shittalk the owners of the IP. And I don't care if God himself starts talking up the show. Think for yourself instead of going with popular consensus just BECAUSE it's popular. It's crap that hasn't been thought out based on past games or even its own premise at all.
he's had the same outlook ever since fallout 3 came out that he doesn't care if others contribute to his IP, so your idea that he does it so he can get to work with bethesda is fricking hilarious
you fricking moron NV fanboys who never played the classics are so fricking funny lol
He actually did criticize FO3 for not coming up with any new ideas and just rehashing all the things he had already done with the IP.
>Cain has stated repeatedly that he's not interested in giving two fricks about Bethesda's take on Fallout.
NVbros... the copium....
Yeah, again, glowing recommendation.
>I prefer New Vegas, but VATS is a cool idea, I guess. And the FO3 artstyle is alright.
>Cain has stated repeatedly that he's not interested in giving two fricks about Bethesda's take on Fallout.
how are you going to cope knowing WORD OF GOD states "enjoying fallout 3" after you claimed "not interested in giving two fricks about Bethesda's take on Fallout."
You can enjoy the game as a game and still don't give a frick about the lore. In his Vaults video he flat out says he's not really paying attention as to what Bethesda is doing with the lore.
>coming up with little stories about what might have happened
i hope im still like this when im old
>>he's had the same outlook ever since fallout 3 came out that he doesn't care if others contribute to his IP, so your idea that he does it so he can get to work with bethesda is fricking hilarious
Okay, and this precludes what I said how? Maybe he genuinely likes it, but my point is he still wouldn't shittalk it regardless, it's bad for business. I don't know how this is hard to understand. Do you think John Romita would be shittalking modern Spider-Man comics if he were still around today, regardless of his actual feelings?
>you fricking moron NV fanboys who never played the classics are so fricking funny lol
Projection.
>>you fricking moron NV fanboys who never played the classics are so fricking funny lol

let's throw down, post your hours.

Yeah, shittalking other creators (especially those with big corporations behind them) is just rude, because the whole industry is just a circlejerk. I think the only person who even attempted to throw shade at Bethesda for FO3 was Brian Fargo. Which is funny if you know anything about Brian Fargo.
Avellone was also throwing some shade after NV, but he was very careful not to point fingers.
>arcade as punch line for sucking
missed opportunity for a dick sucking joke. 0/10 meme
>And yes, Bethesda games don't count.
NMAgay bros you realize even tim cain worships the TV show? When will you realize you're fighting demons and that literally nobody actually thinks fallout 1 is relevant anymore. Not even its creator.
Tim Cain just watched 2 episodes (because he was invited to the premiere) and then got distracted by the free bar. A glowing recommendation if I ever heard one. Cain has stated repeatedly that he's not interested in giving two fricks about Bethesda's take on Fallout.
weird headcanon because in the rpgcodex interview he said he likes fallout 3
NV fanboys can't even stick to their script it seems. SAD!
Of course he's gonna say that. Who was expecting an honest response from him anyway? Outer Worlds shows he's not what he used to be.
>bros do you know what this fat homosexual said?
And? His last good vidya was VTM: B and that was 20 years ago. Old washed-up wienersuckers should not hold any opinions for others.
No his last "good" video game that he directed was Elemental Evil (which was shit btw, but anons here love to suck it off). He didn't direct Masquerade.
ToEE was great and still is. What wasn't good were the gorillion bugs.
What's the point of having a canon if it doesn't encapsulate all games in a numbered series? You're just shitposting aren't you?
You're right
HELLOoOoOo
I can
Reminder
>nv vs 3 out of nowhere
obsessed, this is a thread about the tv show.
>cool. can I kill you dad?
Only in 4, liam neeson have plot armor
They made a sequel to Dougie Jones Adventures? Cool.
.
Is it bad that i have no idea who any of the fallout 3 waifus are? Im assuming the one in the vaultsuit was overseers daughter whos name i dont know. Not a clue about the rest. I did beat the game
Yes, rest are crappy optional companions
No wait its one prostitute npc, moira and the blondie of the brotherhood
Yeah you had dogmeat, supermutant, jericho, mr gutsy. I have no clue who anyone in that pic is supposed to be.
They barely have any personality.
There are none
Obviously. If the NCR kept getting bigger then it wouldn't be a post apocalyptic setting anymore.
I guess Vault Tec really was behind everything. Fo3 implied that it was the aliens. Maybe the highest level of Vault Tec executives are aliens. I would be fine with this.
The line that implied it was aliens is cut content. The whole dlc felt like a gag in fact
>Obviously. If the NCR kept getting bigger then it wouldn't be a post apocalyptic setting anymore.
Let’s be real. This is the actual reason they got nuked, can’t have a post apocalyptic show where there’s a nation of 45k people or whatever. So they invented a handy reset button called Hank who set everything back 50 years and probably did something to New Vegas too
Like its hard to make the show plot location in oregon
Would’ve loved to see that, or maybe one set in Florida. But they were never gonna choose places like that over the west coast
They really did remake the West Coast in the image of Fallout 3's and 4's Wasteland, it's funny
>Lucy's sub-plot is actually just the Fallout 3 and 4 plots combined
>the first settlement that Lucy comes across is Filly, a settlement that Nolan confirmed in an interview is directly inspired by Megaton
>Shady Sands "fell" in 2277 and was bombed in 2282, which also wiped all other NCR settlements, citizens, and influence off the map
>the only factions in the LA Wasteland are the Brotherhood of Steel and Vault-Tec, with Vault-Tec's executives being an obvious parallel to the Enclave (but with the power of upper management and nuclear weapons, rather than FEV)
>somehow, the Enclave returned... but we don't know where their research facility is
>LA as a whole is a barren wasteland devoid of civilization except for pre-war landmarks, vaults, and small, unincorporated settlements
They fricked up the dates and now are trying to retcon the retcon with the arrow cope
nah the chalkboard has several events seperated by several years with arrows, idk why morons are getting bamboozled by this so hard
nah the credits show a book at Shady Sands elementary with the last due date being 2276.
>45k
It’s actually probably in the hundreds of thousands
>post apocalypse
Fallout has and always will be how humanity has moved on and rebuilt from the post apocalypse. Not how it’s stagnated by it.
>Fallout has and always will be how humanity has moved on and rebuilt from the post apocalypse. Not how it’s stagnated by it.
Not if Todd has anything to say about it
>Fallout has and always will be how humanity has moved on and rebuilt from the post apocalypse.
You're completely misinterpreting his point, lol
He fricking won
>courier with 10 luck at The Tops.gif
>multiple responces to 3 or 4 hour old posts all with broken english
Todd Won.
obsidian lost
you guys are overthinking series that somehow had taking deathclaw in 2nd iteration
Hi pete so you bothered check the second game to remark how dumb are talking mutated creatures?
>Bethesda Fallout finally reaches the West Coast, ending the geographic divide between East and West Coast canon
>the thing that bridges the divide isn't a game, but a TV adaptation
>an Amazon adaptation, at that
>to preempt disputes about what is and isn't canon, Bethesda announces, "We view what is happening in the show as canon."
>Amazon's first act of business is to add 4 surface-level vaults to LA that the Master conveniently didn't find in his backyard, retcon Shady Sands 150 miles south to LA, bomb Shady Sands in 2277* (4 years before New Vegas), fly the Prydwyn across the entire fricking country so that the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel can kill off the remnants of the NCR, and threaten New Vegas as the setting of season 2
>We're only a week in and Todd is being forced to do damage control, retconning a retcon in an IGN interview
This is more hilarious that I ever would have predicted. I'm genuinely looking forward to Bethesda and Amazon's wild ride continuing in season 2.
Really wonder how they are going to frick up the lore even more by trying to "fix" it in the next season.
I do expect some backpedalling, because I don't think Todd expected THIS much backlash.
But it's going to be funny seeing them go:
>nooo, NCR is still around despite the fact that we explicitly told you they are no longer around, we didn't frick up the lore, WE DIDN'T FRICK UP THE LORE!
Let's be logical: there's a lot of different, dangling threads of intrigue in season 1, including
>Did VaultTec actually instigate the Great War?
>What is House's reaction to Vault-Tec's plan?
>What will happen to the cold fusion MacGuffin now that it's in the Brotherhood's pissession?
>If Shady Sands is the "first capital" of the NCR, is there still an NCR presence elsewhere in California
>What will happen with Vault 33's water chip crisis?
This is likely the end of Moldaver's story because
1. She's fricking dead, and
2. Every pre-war flashback is from Goggins's perspective, and there's a limit to what we can learn from that
So do you trust Amazon?
>completely collapsed
Who is to say it did? NCR is comprised of ffive great states with multiple functioning rebuilt cities on par with shady sands
I mean, that's the Disney Star Wars logic.
The same shit happened with the New Republic.
The parallels are fricking comical even when they slightly diverge
>The Lone Wandereer wants to activate Project Purity, but needs an activation code from his father and the GECK
>the last thing he sees as he dies activating it is the water in the centrifuge spinning
And again, but with Moldaver filling in for Lucy for ONLY this part because they can't kill Lucy
>Moldaver wants to activate the cold fusion reaction, but needs am activation code from Lucy's father and the cold fusion cell
>the last thing she sees as she dies activating it is LA lighting up with electricity
THEY DID IT AGAIN
THEY WROTE THE SAME FRICKING STORY
Can't wait to see what relative you'll be chasing after in Fallout 5.
It miss the homie not healing her cause its her DESTINY
>>What is House's reaction to Vault-Tec's plan?
he would probably go along with anything including the sneedclave's operations, considering the average prewar businessman
>>What will happen to the cold fusion MacGuffin now that it's in the Brotherhood's pissession?
it will be mothballed or destroyed, since it's another magic power source like the ultracite in fo76 that can't be allowed to escape the setting.
is the Enclave research base and what are they doing?
there are dozens of sneedclave based across the US as shown in the enclave war room in fo2. only raven rock, whitespring, the mobile base crawler and the oil rig and navarro are explored. they have not boxed themselves in in terms of the enclave. they could probably get away with a hecking moonbase enclave.
>it will be mothballed or destroyed, since it's another magic power source like the ultracite in fo76 that can't be allowed to escape the setting.
It really pissed me off as soon pre-war Moldaver mentioned cold fusion research and I realized what the thing in the head was. Like it's so obviously broken for the setting that it might as well be destroyed the second you realize what it is.
what if the "fall of Shady Sands" in 2277 just refers to the NCR capital being moved south?
they moved their capital to the Boneyard and Shady Sands eventually wound up a ghost town in 2277, hence the "fall", then they renamed the Boneyard to Shady Sands sometime between 2277-2281, and in 2282 it was bombed.
in NV you get sort of an allusion to the fact that shady sands has been moved/renamed
I'll give you credit, this is at least one of the more creative copes I've seen
>pre shady sands nuke sign shown in the series says FIRST capital of NCR along with the population at that given moment
>COPING YOURER COPING OBSIDIAN GOOD
>have "the fall of Shady Sands" directly pointing to a bomb
>somehow this is NOT "the fall"
>doesn't elaborate otherwise
Brave Todd.
>conveniently moves the bombing of Shady Samds to riiight after the events of New Vegas
>we're really threading the needle with these dates guys, just trust us
All jokes aside, I haven't been able to look at Todd the same way since that Starfield performance interview that went wrong. Sometimes you just have to tell those sweet little lies and hope your boyish charm makes people forget what you are at the end of the day.
>bomb Shady Sands in 2277* (4 years before New Vegas),
>Fallout: New Vegas stars a Courier tasked with delivering a package to New Vegas which, you guessed it, is the post-nuclear war successor to Las Vegas, Nevada. However, the Courier winds up caught between a local factional war between the New California Republic and Ceasar's Legions that threatens to destabilize the entire region.
>And as Howard tells IGN, Shady Sands is destroyed sometime after the events of Fallout: New Vegas.
there its canon now stop seething
Neat.
>bombs fall just after the events of New Vegas
Did the boomers drop a nuke on Shady Sands just to see what would happen?
>Did the boomers drop a nuke on Shady Sands
No, Vault-Tec did. They're like the Reapers now apparently and they want Humanity to develop along a path that they desire.
How do vault dwellers "Drop" bombs is what I was getting at in a roundabout way.
I'd imagine that they still have access to some of the launchers. They did launch a bunch of nukes in the beginning so they have the capability.
But didn't the nuke explode underground? So did Hank drag the nuke on his back all the way under Shady Sands or has Shady Sands been founded on an unexploaded nuke, because lol, lmao?
He got real jealous when his wife was having hold lesbian sex with Mold Haver and he wasn't. Brought out the strength in him.
Vault-Tec had access to mega geniuses, it's logical that they scoped out LA and determined it was the potential site for a settlement to form post apocalypse so planted a nuke there before the war. Simple radio signal and boom.
Oh, so THAT'S why Shady Sands moved their capital there. To make it easier for Vault Tec!
pls stop with the exclamation mark, you type like Yes Man speak
What do you mean, anon? I am seriously trying not to be passive-aggressive towards you!
Shady Sands was always in LA, doesn't make sense otherwise as they'd have no buildings to live in otherwise.
North LA would make sense if closer to los angeles letters
>But didn't the nuke explode underground?
Did it? Well shit if it was an underground explosion I guess he blew up their power gens or something.
That's quite a crater.
For you.
Yeah, that'll do it
>subterranean nuclear bomb
So, quick question
How would Vault-Tec nuke anyone that they don't have a direct tunnel under?
With mind bullets.
That's telekinesis, Kyle.
>subterranean nuclear bomb
>The device had a diameter of 43 cm (17 in), a length of 96.5 cm (38.0 in)
You could literally just drop it into the well in Shady Sands and achieve that desired affect.
>How would Vault-Tec nuke anyone that they don't have a direct tunnel under?
By firing it normally like they did with the first nukes.
average womans puss in 2024.
When are they ever going to do something about it? They've waited for 200+ years after the war. Even the vaults will fail eventually.
Any second now.
>When are they ever going to do something about it?
Hell if I know, I'm not their writer. Guess we'll have to wait for season 2 or the next game.
In about two weeks.
They're actually Umbrella Corp that has accidentally jumped universes but still want to rule the world and shape it in their image after wiping it out first.
>We're careful about the timeline
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies...
IGN is such an embarrassment for the species, holy shit
Ask him about the library records. Ask him how Shady Sands is at the Boneyard
Don't ask about the obviously moronic chalk timeline that morons already have written excuses for
What was the library records? I think I missed it.
Credit scene
Makes sense
Because...
>Credit scene
Do you know the ep number? I wanna look at it
I think it was in 6, the same episode as the chalk like is shown
Thanks anon
Is this the one?
Yep. Episode 6 right?
At the end of Episode 5. I didn't actually watch any of the post credit animations so I missed this.
Ah, I missed by one. Sorry
>I didn't actually watch any of the post credit animations so I missed this.
Hardly anyone did, seems no one seems to bring that up
How could I forget the one that shows Vegas in utter ruins with what looks like the aftermath of a war between the Strip and NCR that was interrupted by a nuke?
No matter how you spin it, everything about the "Fall of Shady Sands" is written from the perspective that it was an extremely tragic, disruptive event that caused life as the NCR knew it to end. I'm talking from an aesthetic perspective.
>an empty classroom that was in the middle of a history lesson remembering the fall of Shady Sands that ends with the image of a bomb going off
>the survivors perform some insane blood ritual with the ASHES of the dead to remember Shady Sands
>a library book that stops being checked out in 2026, calling back to the earlier juxtaposition of the Shady Sands library sign and the crater
IGN were just hired to help with the damage control, don't expect any hard questions when they're barely journalists as it is.
I mean, ask him why would Hank wait 5 years to nuke the city THAT'S ALREADY FALLEN?
It was the world's most obvious damage control interview, what do you expect? It's surprising that the piece didn't end with the interviewer asking if it was okay to get down on both knees and beg for forgiveness for those dang uppity gamers.
>Shady Sands is destroyed sometime after the events of Fallout: New Vegas (2277) see
wait
The ncr was nuked by the events of New Vegas?
>new vegas (2281)
>after (2281+)
doesn't math.
Invincible is just alright
Outside of all the parts with Battle Beast, Nolan has the interesting story about learning humanity and that's it
You know what, a company that bought a license is not capable of deciding a canon and will never be. In fact that is the general rule from here on out. I call it the New Vegas law, just to spite bethesha and its army of saars.
Fallout could have been Old World Blues for Hoi4 or After the End, instead we get Mad Max 3 in perpetuity
Is this the twin peaks guy
it's paul atreides actually
The Legion also lost, if it even existed in the first place considering that moving Shady Sands just to have it nuked in the show fricks up the legion too.
what the frick does anything in the tv show have to do with the legion?
Caesar is from the city that was supposed to be where Shady Sands is in the show. At best, moving his starting city to an entirely different area complicates things.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/ys1d7i/best_faction_in_fallout_new_vegas/
NV fanboys are we gonna let this guy bully us like this?
You have 3 days
I laughed in dust mod cause all look like cannibal hobos with the ncr too KEK
I've saved so many NV memes this past week. This dumb fricking show has been a blessing.
dilation time xister
you forgot your schizophrenia meds today it seems
they purposefully left the date out of the equation to not limit their options but somehow the moron masses took it to mean that because there is no date given between the two sections, it means the sections happened simulatenously even though in previous sections there was a seperation of time
yeah it's pretty funny watching brainlets say that the nukes on shady sands went off on 2277
Anon still its bullshit the whole shady sands doesnt matter if its nuked later
it seems it's just a narrative against bethesda by the usual suspects. people really need to just chill and realize they aren't going to fricking de-canonize entire games because of some shit you see on a screen for 2 sec
Nobody thought they were making New Vegas non canon. People are pissed because it seems they can't be bothered to remember their own canon, and just wiped out all the lore for the West Coast to turn it into another Capital Wasteland.
It makes New Vegas pointless, and it's completely silly as the faction that just few decades earlier were almost completely broken somehow toppled a nation state with thousands of soldiers
at the very least it makes things vague enough that a straight "shady sands was nuked in 2277" interpretation cant be taken as fact.
there is also the sign showing the population of shady sands and saying it was the first capital
meaning NCR still exists with the hub probably as the capital
i've been saying this and i'm gonna keep saying it, new vegas is the provincial capital of NCR.
if they get nuked that would immediately make them chimp the frick out, it would make sense for them to claim new vegas as a major hub at the very least, the strip ending visual with its dead securitrons just lends itself to this more.
Yeah Gecko has a fully functional nuclear power plant as long as you feed it uranium.
It's clear from most of the troops they hated being in the Mojave, other than on the strip itself. I cna't imaging many would stay even if they did win the second battle for Hoover Dam, only as a standing force.
NCR citizens in New Vegas say that virtually nobody deals with them any more
>he thinks that because they had a uni everything would look pristine and new
lmao
A university means that they can afford to spend resources on education rather than have someone working full time. That alone says something about the state of that area and how it was doing well enough for that.
By the time of new Vegas everyone in NCR proper has life so good that people only go east tot he frontier because they find life boring, safe and stable. People work jobs, pay taxes have insurance etc. for all intents and purposes life has returned to 20th to early 21st century standards
you can do all that in a city of ruins partially rebuilt from said ruins
You could but the ncr has built brand new adobe buildings.
B-BUT ANON, VAULT TEC DROPPED DA NOOKS! THEY SAY SO IN THE SHOW, EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER ACTUALLY DO IT!
It's glorious how much New Trans fans try to nitpick the show.
even if your hypothesis is correct it doesn't change how moronic the whole thing is
Then I'd like to ask what counts as the fall of a nation.
They've still effectively gutted two main factions
>fall of a nation
its says "fall of shady sands"
shady sands isn't their nation, it's not even portrayed as a major part of the NCR i think. they are being conservative with the setting and have already stated that it's "localized". shady sands gets very few mentions after fallout 2, so it doesn't really matter what ends up happening to them. what is more interesting is that the nuking is going to set off some alarm bells, NCR are already engaged in a war with legion+BoS, now they are already being engaged by vault tec which they might not even know did the nuking. the point i think is that they've extended far too much and are paying the price, as for the actual logistical reason for why shady sands is nuked, ie. because rosie mclean finds it and consequently lets some vault tec c-suits find out about it is pretty weird.
That doesn't sound like a nation on the verge of collapse.
someone post the laye bronze age collapse if it were the Fallout show screencap, please
Is there one with the dark age? That would be funnier
And they could've just set the entire show in fricking Arizona and that would solve everything.
I think they just hoped nobody's going to notice, because for showrunners, time ans space is usually the least important detail.
Turns out, it's Fallout fandom, so they immediately noticed.
>time ans space is usually the least important detail
Maybe I'm autistic but that sounds like actual hell to me. How can anyone write anything without knowing about the area and time it's set in?
>FALL OF SHADY SANDS WASN'T IN 2277
>can never explain what the fall was
>can't explain why the library record stops in 2276
>can't explain why shady sands is located on LA, instead of miles north
>can't point to a single example in the history of mankind where the "fall" of a city was used to describe a declining period instead of quick turmoil
Are the people that watch this show this moronic?
>BUT TODD SAID
Todd lies so much it's a meme. Or do you think Fallout 3 has 200 endings?
Okay, but what if this is the one time that Todd didn't lie to make himself and his employees look good? I bet you didn't think of that
It's obvious Todd pulled this "explanation" out of his ass, because the interviewer politely served him the fan theory on a silver platter.
He didn't even confirmed it.
>SO SHADY SAND FALL AND THE NUKE ARE DIFFERENT HUH
Possibly
>SO THE FALL WASN'T NECESSARILY A NUKE HUH HUH HUH
Not necessarily
Remember Todd's original comment about the show being canon
>We VIEW what's HAPPENING in the show as canon.
The language is deliberately passive so that Bethesda can distance themselves if it was poorly received or Amazon actually fricked up. I'm not alleging a conspiracy, I'm just alleging PR speak.
>thinking their shitty show is canon
lmao. Todd lost and NV won.
COPE
Muad'Dib! Muad'Dib! Muad'Dib!
>he paid to watch fallout: yasss queen, confused Black and trannies to own nv fans
Lmao
>paid
what did he mean by this?
Oh its not a subscription service? My bad, I dont watch any media made for golems so all these service providers are unknown to me.
I guess its no different than watching shit movies ironically like shark nado etc. If its free.
I dont watch tv but you don't make sense as a personality, you don't know how to pirate despite, what you said. never even heard of the concept to the point you're like "isn't prime a subscription service though?" I dont believe you. you're a bot yeah? or possibly iranian.
Just because I dont watch golem shows doesnt mean I dont pirate videogames.
What a strange leap in logic but I guess not consooming is a strange concept for a golem.
Lets not pretend most "people" dont use subscription shit like netflix etc
>paid
you're a funny guy
fnv = troonycore
Todd fallout = ChadCore
simple as
>new vegas cucks really simp for a military authoritarian group that seeks to forcibly take over people and force them to pay taxes
and I thought you guys hated commies
Why do you think the troon accusation is so devastating for them? The game is commie heaben
How is that not applicable to every single government that existed? Stop paying taxes, see what happens lol
i've been playing the 76 free period on steam and i still don't know if i want to pay the discounted price or not. its basically 4 with microtransactions but i am intrigued enough by the different time period and the multiplayer stuff. i've gotten 14 hours out of it and the loop has kept me entertained in a kind of zone out way, i dunno.
Its free on prime gaming
buying the game right now and buying prime is almost the exact same price though and i don't use streaming services.
Depends on your tolerance for premium FOMO that actually affects your grindan
Cooper Howard saying Major Black person was funny as hell
This guy only acts evil cowboys?
watch the righteous gemstones. do it immediately.
I thought it was anti-christian trash tho?
not anti-christian, just anti-grifter.
Walton Goggins is GOAT
Hes really underapreciatted and just recently people seem notice his talent
I like his acting, he really habe the charisma enough to make revolver ocelot and a boomer actor delusional about the reality that still hate commies like the show flashbacks
He's got more range.
It's evil Southerners.
When he called Max "Brotha hood of stealing shit!" I spit out my orange faygo
>Enclave Oil Rig aka their capital gets nuked by a nobody (I know it's not an actual nuke)
>Collapses soon after and loses Navarro forced to flee to the east coast and Chicago
OMG BASED
>NCR gets nuked in their capital by a nobody
>collapses and forced to flee into the wastes
OMG THIS IS SOO BAD
???
Yes, because we cant have a fsllout gsme without nuked shitholes and moronic larping as knights
>Collapses soon after and loses Navarro forced to flee to the east coast and Chicago
Actually, that one was dumb when FO3 did it.
Not too dumb navarro have op turrets but ncr have bozars what its dumb its that they follow orders of chatgpt larping as george bush
>but ncr have bozars
...I actually forgot about that. NEVER pick a fight with an NCR trooper in Fallout 2.
>Collapses soon after and loses Navarro forced to flee to the east coast and Chicago
Wasn't that Bethesda's writing?
That was Bethesda's writing. And it was bad back then.
Difference being nuking the Enclave didn't turn the West Coast into a copy of the capital wasteland.
Nuking Shady Sands somehow did
The Enclave were quite literally hours away from exterminating the whole world population after they finished inoculation of their own.
Did the majority of players really not win New Vegas for the NCR? I went NCR in NV and Empire a year later in Skyrim.
I'm usually pro-NCR. I think I've never done Legion, but it's only because their content is so lackluster.
I did NCR on my first playthrough, most people probably did. Though every subsequent playthroughs you start to pick up all the little things showing corruption, ineptitude and instability within the NCR.
I got redpilled by the ending slide of the NCR's tax policy lol
Went Yes Man on playthrough 2
I'll never be Mr. House's gigolo!
First playthrough NCR, subsequent playthroughs House when not doing achievements. Yes Man is a cop-out version of House's ending designed to moron-proof the game, I like picking House because his ending's flaws promise much more interesting political and interpersonal conflict than
>and then the Courier realized he'd made a horrible mistake as he helplessly watched corrupt bureaucracy consume itself m
omg was that vegas at the end? It has my favoritest joke in the world: "They asked me if I had a degree in theoretical physics and I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard." Fricking kek
New Vegas has the worst fanbase in the entire history of video games
I don't know, you seen Bethesdrones?
New Vegas is a blatantly unfinished game that requires 300 mods to work properly, and the story and freedom of choice are massively overhyped.
The more they scream at me that your 7/10 game is a masterpiece, the more it falls towards 5.
3 happens the same but you can mod install it to new vegas and plays better
So your enjoyment of a videogame is influenced by what morons on the internet say? Say no more, you also put on makeup and gargle dick?
You hereby renounce every right to ever call Bethesda games (besides F76) buggy or broken if you think that shit is fine.
>NOOOOO IT DOESNT ITS PERFECTLY PL-(FNV.exe has crashed)-AAAACK
>has a crash once within 6 hours
>NOOOOOOO THIS IS LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE!
Meanwhile I can go boot up some AAAslop from M$/Snoy, it might have a perfect port with no technical issues, but it's still a shit game that does nothing of interest and just exists purely for making money.
Yeah but with Fallout New Vegas they reach a whole other level of obsessive
Not even early 2000s discussions about which Final Fantasy is best ever reached their level
Bethesdababs because no le hecking BoS being heroes of the story, NVbabs because NCR is just nuke fodder.
>it's another 'I'm le fan of NV but NV fans are the worst..."
I can't believe a game has its own demographic of pickmes
Technically, the Enclave nuked themselves, because lol, lmao
Nuking the NCR out of existence is Fallout's Starkiller moment.
Tecnically fallout 4 mc its starkiller by emil tweets KEK
>Oh and the lone wanderer is The Courier as well
Kino.
>The courier is actually Nate who wanted to see the NCR for himself after learning about it in Kellogg's memories.
fallout 4 takes place 8 years after NV, moron
time travel from a bad institute teleport
welcome to modern writing contrivance
No it doesn't
I just changed it
mb then
I swear to God Ill murder the producers if they dont include ED-E My Love and his battle theme jumpscaring Lucy in Season 2
its gonna be shot by the ghoul
Seems like something they would do yeah
>~le subverted expectations joke
?feature=shared
I loved that little guy providing the boss theme for the Courier.
how long do you think it would take the prydwyn to travel cross country? a week?
it's another airship, not prydwen
there is a deleted scene where they say its name
where are you seeing these deleted scenes?
nta but that's even worse
They are produced at the same place, the airfield in the Fallout3 Brotherhood DLC on the easy coast. It still crossed the entire country but now they have multiple of them.
>the prydwyn is a technological marvel that represents the east coast brotherhood's greatest and most symbolic victory, the destruction of the enclave AFB
>it took everything they could scavenge from that victory to construct
>btw here's another one lol
AMAZON
The guy who said it's a different ship was lying lol
>We're going to have to see Elder Maxson again
>Brotherhood are the canonical winners of Fallout4 too
I hate the Toddchrist.
If the ghoul guy curbstomp maxon i dont mind
>Brotherhood won Fallout4 because otherwise every other faction destroys the Prydwen
>except the Railroad which are too comically inept to consider a canon end or viable threat to anyone but themselves
>They cross the entire country just to shit on the remnants of the NCR
What's next for the Brotherhood of Kleptomania? Another secret Enclave facility?
>Another secret Enclave facility?
Unironically yes
Thee new Fallout 4 update is adding the Enclave in Boston
>look it up
>it's true
oh my fricking god
Isnt that another gay creation club mod like oblivion portal in skyrim?
No. I'm looking at it now and it's a full update with a next-gen rerelease that you get for free if you already own the game. Has a questline and brings back the Enclave stuff from Fallout3.
>enclave is back
JUST WRITE A NEW FACTION
FRICK
For the love of god just make a new faction that rose to power with access to power armor. More military remnants like the Brotherhood should be easy enough and very common.
Somehow, the Enclave returned on both coasts simultaneously
wait
The ncr was nuked by the events of New Vegas?
I expect them to correct this in season 2. I bet it's no more than a continuity frick up.
No, that's also a thing they got wrong. Lonesome Road allows you to nuke Caesar's forward camp and/or the I-15 trade route, not any actual cities. Definitely not Shady Sands.
Happens WHILE New Vegas is happening.
i am tired of seeing this now, people strawman the show and what it's trying to say, THE NUKING OF SHADY SANDS HAPPENED AFTER 2277 FOR FRICK'S SAKE, I'm tired of seeing this brought up by stupid people that just ignore what the creator is saying
because it doesn't fit in their "naa naa naa bethesda bad!" narrative
>THE NUKING OF SHADY SANDS HAPPENED AFTER 2277 FOR FRICK'S SAKE
Not according to that flowchart. At bare minimum that's terrible prop design.
that wasnt the prop guys, its standard practice to not box yourself in by giving specific dates. by the very least, todd told them to remove the date they had originally given, 2781 to whatever is the tv show's date
>its standard practice to not box yourself in by giving specific dates.
So what the did by putting the fall of Shady Sands in 2277?
see
Again why is the flowchart so shittily made? Why the date of 2277 for the fall if they need to take liberty with when the bomb was detonated?
why is it shittily made? because nobody in NV mentions how shady sands is dying? why do you think the NCR are expanding rapidly. THINK!!!!!
>because nobody in NV mentions how shady sands is dying?
Yes.
>Why do you think the NCR are expanding rapidly.
Because they're aggressively pursuing an expansionist agenda due to their initial overwhelming growth begetting more resources
>begetting more resources
yes which shady sands no longer manages to provide... you're getting there
shady sands is gone, that's the end of this argument and you're just gonna have to live with it. the whys don't matter.
fallout 2 pioneered this way of advancing the lore by playing fast and loose with it, and it worked out in the end. you gotta break some eggs to make an omelette my man.
>yes which shady sands no longer manages to provide.
It does though
Shady Sands is still the capital and fine, per dialogue
I'm sorry my fellow NVfan, it's just gone. We made it go away. Poof!
I love that the wiki is dancing like a motherfricker around the fact that Shady Sands is in THE WRONG PLACE.
Shady Sands was actually on the back of a giant mirelurk that migrated closer to the water. But he got tired and needed to have a nap in the boneyard.
Kek
Reminds me when the Harry Potter wiki needed to dance around the fact that they originally cast a sheboon in the films for Lavender
>Shady Sands was nuked AFTER it fell
Isn't this even more moronic than the nuke being the fall? What caused it to "fall" if not the nuke? Why would they nuke it if it's already fallen?
hank found out the commie who took his children lives there.
So what was the fall?
A bomb OUT
He had a melty because his wife was turbo dyke so somehow he managed to destroy one of the many functional cities of the ncr. Well probably see the Hub or vault city with its even more advanced standards of living in season 2
>Well probably see the Hub or vault city with its even more advanced standards of living in season 2
>15 years after capital of the country fell
At best they would just begin picking up slack from the recession. At worst, because of how weak they are, someone slowly chipped away at them. Bigger groups of raiders like Great Khans, hell, fricking Brotherhood of Steel, why not.
>Great Khans
Aren't in California. Nor are Jackels or Vipers.
Guys, "like Great Khans" =/= Great Khans.
Are you moronic or ESL?
Are you both?
What do you mean, the post literally says
>Bigger groups of raiders like Great Khans
Are you sure you aren't ESL?
>Bigger groups of raiders like Great Khans
Vs
>Bigger groups of raiders similar to the Great Khans
What do you think the difference between two statements is, if any, besides one being more formal than the other?
First one insinuates specifically the Great Khans will return and wreck hell.
You never answered if you are ESL.
>First one insinuates specifically the Great Khans will return and wreck hell.
You sound similar to a moron, moron.
The great khans are essentially gang bangers that are nothing more than a nuisance. They wouldn’t be able to topple shit. Especially when the NCR is backed with the ability to supply pre war arms and munitions at scale. Only the shittiest of plebs are running around with pipe weapons
Fiends magically teleported to California and became cannibals, so...
Vault 3 is secretly connected to Vaults 31, 32 and 33.
Of course it is.
Considering how degen the Fiends were in NV, I wouldn't put it past them to engage in cannibalism.
I hope not
That ruins my fantasy of exchanging drugs for sex with female fiends
Just eat them first if they try anything.
Some Fiends obviously might engage in cannibalism, but Fiends are literal chem fiends, that's the name. Only a moron would say chem fiends are primarily known for cannibalism.
>only a moron
>maximus
I see nothing wrong here
If you wanna be pedantic then yeah, I'm sure most would simply describe them as "drugged up loons". One person highlighting cannibalism to describe them when asked about them isn't some crazy or outrageous idea though.
the fiends did have a guy named cook-cook who rapes people and eats them, it's far from the worst of the lore the show got wrong
Jackals, but that would be giving credit to Black Isle so they just call them Fiends.
Are wiped out in California as of the timeframe of New Vegas. All surviving gangs are in Nevada.
Doesn’t Jes imply that the only reason people go out to the frontier is because they’re bored of life in the NCR since ther are containers to deal with and life is stabilized
Why did his wife decide to run away from Hank and security of the Vault to a city that was fallen?
because she was a commie rat
honestly i would plap this weird gender fluid hapa thing instantly
>Birdie was 11
>Actress is 47
This is making less and less sense
I liked that androginous muslim milf
>androginous muslim
Todd has confirmed Shady Sands is fine. Thatjust how it is you'll have to deal with it.
>yes which shady sands no longer manages to provide... you're getting there
No, you idiot, NCR as a nation is expanding, and logically, it needs more resources.
Should have just filled a pond with 17 industrial water purifiers?
and purify sand?
That’s what the GECK was for. It’s how they were able to notify the water and soil to make it arable for farming again over almost 200 years ago
Sea water.
wdym? Works in fallout4 and clearly todd cares deeply about FO4 enough to bring the prydwen back.
nta, since my fallout 76 base is in the chemical waste swamp near the raider base / crashed spaceship I know this feel all too well.
tfw more competent than a major faction with NO clean water.
>NCR were experiencing water shortages
That's not conveyed in any of the lore. They're predicting food shortages due increasing population, not water scarcity.
Hanlon briefly mentions not seeing the sun rise over lakes because they've pumped them all dry along with the aquifers back home. Other than this one conversation with Chief Hanlon no one ever mentions it in any other capacity.
>pumped all the water out a long time ago.
Kind of implying they've been coping without fine.
Yeah
Just because there's no longer any superficial large bodied of water, doesn't mean they don't have water
An overwhelming amount of aquifers are underground
I'm having a hard time taking anything what Hanlon says as objective truth, because just like Ulysses, he's a complete depressed doomer. So he always just sees the downsides of everything.
>so nations expand because they just like to expand and it's on their daily agenda?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifest_destiny
I wonder why the US didn't claim they were working under a divine mandate from god when they invaded iraq instead of claiming they were after WMDs
Funny you should bring it up, because Kimball literally invokes NCR's manifest destiny.
Precisely, a nation can expand for reasons other than necessity.
I just explained why, no date given for the nuke yet a hard date given for the fall.
A cute "it's like poetry, it rhymes" easter egg? That makes no sense?
Showrunners think they are clever.
>be me
>president kimball of the NCR
>our boys fighting for the dam need a good kick in the dick
>chief of staff organizes a speech at Hoover Dam itself, great idea
>we've got multiple rangers and a rising war hero in the NCR working security since we're within spitting distance of the Arizona state football team
>all clear
>don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked don't mention our capital getting nuked
>whew, made can't believe I kept my head thACK
> Spents 4 year in a vertibird flying nevada skies
What did he eat?
>ffs, I hope nobody notices I'm a ghoul now. that stupid mask can only hold for so long
> AND REMEMBER VOTE FOR 31
Todd Howard confirmed it as canon.
That's cool making Courier sound like Slade McFallout
Expectations for TES 6?
>mfw the NCR lost
the House always wins
>we could've had Legayon kino
>instead we got literally nothing, not even a mention
Just write more dangling plot threads and let nerds discuss them online ad infintum
forget hank, why the frick would the mother sit around on her ass for 5-7 years and not get her children back? she could have easily went to the vault with mulva and killed everyone who resisted and killed hank too while getting her children back. shit makes no sense no matter how you look at it.
She didn't actually want the children and was busy "finding herself". Happens enough in real life that I wouldn't bat an eye at it being the reason here.
She was doing some shit with Moldaver. Whether this was cold fusion research or lesbian shit, we'll never know.
So how did that lesbian fire mother raider b***h survive 200 years without being a ghoul? She must have had access to some kind of cryo tech right?
Can't wait for Lucy and the previous fallout protagonists yes even The vault dweller and Chosen one team up and defeat the big bad vault tec avengers style!
>fallout brother hood of steel was super nationalist
>gays and lesbians were literally banned
>not sure about blacks but i would assume so
>TV show brotherhood of steel has literal troony in ranks and even uses "they/them" pronounces
Clown show
I don't believe the "blacks" part.
They required pedigree, so that'd be really weird for them to maintain selerate ethnicities.
I thought Veronica was a dyke? And isn't it only frowned upon because they don't recruit, so they need to breed new members?
In Tactics the west coast had to recruit but yeah, they're typically very insular. I think Veronica kept her being a lesbian very close to her chest with her fellow BoS members, and I would imagine she may still have been expected to carry a child at some point.
>I thought Veronica was a dyke?
Only when she's far from my penis
Its funny how Showrighters made every person with Power in show either Female or Black. However the only saving grace of this dogshit, the shining diamond was white male (should i say red male) ghoul, (and even here they showed in interracial couple)
Cant wait how he will become useless trash in season 2 and Strong independant Female Lucy will have to save him in every episode
why did vault-tech nuke their entire customer base and the wait over 200 years to actually put their plan into action? are they stupid?
Why can't NVgays let go and begin again?
>Some old-timers, unable to handle the cost, were forced to move on, grumbling all the while
Personally I did before 4 even came out
It just happens that the thing I enjoy beginning again is shitposting
>begin again by having more BoS, more Enclave, more New Vegas, more Fiends, etc., just not the actually interesting faction.
The pre war scenes fricking suck. L.A looked like modern L.A when it should be way more Art Deco
Yeah, Bethesda completely abandoned the art deco style in favour of rusty shantytowns.
If anything pre-War LA should look like Gotham or 1920 Metropolis.
its called googie architecture
No that is Bethesda flanderization of 50s sci fi aesthetic that was barely even and was only recently in 4 and 76
Not even 3 suffered from this
>no
yes
>Literally proves my point by posting a screenshot of the flanderization from Shitout 4
Go back and learn how to read pajeet
don't click this image, NMAtroony
Literally proving my point again pajeet. Look how much more muted and subtle it is.
Do you not know what flanderization is?
Thanks for W
GG no re
Which is weird because 3 had a lot of art deco in the places that weren't metal shacks
The only good artist of bethesda died of cancer
Don't blame him either if those were my choices.
Poor guy
Probably contracted it from his Daedric armour designs
why was Shady Sands nuked ?
Civilisation was being restarted and Vault-tec wasn't in control of it.
does this mean NCR no longer exists ?
I doubt it. You'll probably see remnants of it next season/game.
>next game
For the love of Todd please go to Dallas or somewhere else please stop fricking up the West Coast with your gay shit Bethesda.
The next season of the show is going to be in New Vegas my man.
I know, but that doesn't mean they have to plant the next game on the West Coast or continue the show on the West Coast after that.
It's what the show clearly implies, but people have been coping about it, so who knows what the creative genius behind Westworld Season 2 will do
Whats the best analogy of s2 westworld for new vegas?
The show implies yes, Todd says no, it's a clusterfrick.
>one city gets destroyed
>that means all of the other states and many other cities completely collapsed over night
Yeah, no. That’s moronic
>an entire industrial society of nearly a million people was there for the entire show but just out if frame
Because of some butthurt post apocalyptic Vault tec wagie that was upset with how post post apocalyptic civilization didn't align with his headcanon.
For fun
Vault Tec realized that they fricked up and they should continue to frick up just to keep the streak going.
Kyle's wife scaped to be a lesbo and thats his revenge
Vault-Tec wanted to preemptively end new civilization, 50 years after it had begun.
illuminati guy thought he was protecting his daughter with warped ideals caused by years of ego and power via money so he nuked a neutral at worst faction and his own wife, because protocol.
its rather stupid, like the actual illuminati.
"Bud's Buds" in Vault 31 are all about one word: management!
>unfreeze an executive assistant
>the first situation he has to manage that isn't whether to make cake or jello for the office gals is mismanaged so hard that he exposes Vault-Tec's evil plan to multiple people
>including one who has 14 years to propagandize a paramilitary organization and who knows who else against you
>including his own daughter, who fricking hates him
>the only thing he can think of to do is bail and immediately run all the fricking way from LA to New Vegas for some sort of 1-man suicide mission
Why does Todd have such a hardon for the brotherhood of steel? They are just a minor side faction. Certainly not nor have ever been one to rally for
>NV is heavily retconned
yeah no one is going to want to play this until the dust settles with season 2
they're either gonna fix the retcon or go all in with retcon
I don't think Todd wants to piss off New Vegas fanbase, if only it's monetarily unwise. And he wants to use all that cool NV imagery, so deeming it non-canon is unwise.
So, he'll probably force Amazon to unfrick this shit after he realized the how big the backlash is and that his assurances are not really flying right now.
Todd will do nothing cause the next Fallout game he wont be working snymore
>NV tards still not over the arrow debacle
Because it's a moronic set piece.
>mayor of portland becomes vault overseer
i will now watch your goyslop show
Portland oregon? Damn this shit dhould be in oregon
>create civilisation
>reach a certain milestone
>salty pre nuke corpos with fantasies of re settling America nuke you to death
>restart
1) what's the point of anything then just leave the vault and resettle Black folk every time you nuke you will have to wait longer
2)how the frick can vault 32 still just have functioning nukes to fire at whoever they want whenever they want 200 years later.
Vault-tek are the new Reapers
Shady sands is not the whole ncr
Am I genuinely autistic? Fallout show is being feverishly paraded for "game accuracy" but whenever you try to point out clearly inaccurate things (not just Fallout lore turbo-autism that you can know only if you've played original games, the show also directly contradicts Todd's games at least with basic example being how ghouls becoming feral works now) you are suddenly an incel and shouldn't care about things like that. How does it work like that?
stop using twitter and all that goes away. you're not an incel for pointing out shit writing. you're an incel if you cant get laid in current year (why bother amirite)
I like how people call critics of the lore unfaithfulness nerds. Like no shit, it's a video game IP. Who do you think cares about game lore?
Let go.
Frick the NCR
Because you hate real world California and NCR has California in it?
What a stupid fricking question. Maybe he's just beat FONV.
Nah I'm willing to bet I'm right.
Nah I've never seen anyone do that
Frick off troll
>Frick off troll
LOL
Fine link me a post of 1 Anon doing it within the past 13 and a half years
I already hate it, you don't need to sell it more like that
Isn't it wonderful that Todd owned the IP for longer than Black Isle/Interplay and hasn't introduced a single concept with same staying power as the ones introduced by Black Isle/Interplay in the 90s that he keeps regugitating.
Unironically Nate the Rake will be remembered more than anything Todd has ever introduced to the series.
They never understood the franchise and they are a black hole of creativity. They unironically need to ask Obsidian for help.
Dont these changes mean that DUST is now the canon ending (Secret Elijah Ending) since it fits with everything the show says?
based todd
I thought they also mentioned that the NCR managed to frick up all the soil again after the having the Boone of the GECK due to over farming. Which doesn’t make sense either. Easier you’d think a farmers almanac would be included in the package that provides the starter resources to produce clean land and food again to avoid that very problem
They simply farmed too much Tatos in the same ground and ruined it.
