I don't see how they could make Volume 2 "attractive" to normies without MGS4, and I think PO and PW are givens.
Part of me thinks MGSV and MGR would also make sense, though I don't know how that'll work for PC owners who have the games already. MGR at least I do think could use a tuned up port that can run properly at 60FPS without external meddling when connected to TVs.
I doubt MGS4 is going to be in one of the Master Collections. Same with MGSV, since that's already standalone on every platform but Switch.
MGS4 would be a b***h to port just due to all the licensed materials, usage of the built in PS3/PSX emulation for Act 4, and more generally just references to the hardware sprinkled constantly in dialogue that would necessitate either excessive cutting (including the entirety of the Psycho Mantis cameo, which is a mandatory scene that references the PS3 hardware constantly, and it'd be impossible to rerecord since his JP VA is dead).
What's more likely is that MGS4 will be remade down the line instead, and they get to sell it as a new game.
As for Master Collection Vol. 2, I imagine it'll be announced as

Legacy Collection was the HD Collection versions. Since you played on PS3, the only issue is going to be the pressure sensitive buttons being removed, so you have to raise and lower your weapons by clicking the stick. Kind of a pain.

MGS PW MP was not very sophisticated and when it was ported to the consoles it just searched like you were on PSP wifi, you find randoms via a lobby type of system.
I played it on 360 and PS3 and its fun, I know there are dedicated groups on PS3 who play it but the game on an average day is dead.
So yea a more modern port with actual coop online will revitalise it.

Depends on how they manage to bring MGS4 over, if they do. If it's via emulation, going in and changing textures/models might not be feasible. If they actually create a native port, it's more likely they can change things.
I'm going to be very curious about what this collection ends up being. If it's just all emulated versions of the games running on like a 360 emulator, that may explain the lower internal resolution (if it's locked) and could point to future collections being more barebones than we're hoping.

The old PC port just changed the subtitles (but not the audio) to tell you to use your keyboard. PS3's home menu still had the option to swap controller's player number. No idea how the 360 port did it.

It stops me from platting the MGS2 HD on PS3 because the VR missions, some need the sensitivity and even the PS3 controller fricks it up.

The PC port simply swapped the subtitles to say "I know, use your keyboard" because that was coded as the port 2 to make sure everyone who plays it could get through there even if they didn't have a controller. Which means most players of the port probably never even encountered the main gimmick of the fight.

I dunno who Marc is but yeah, the old models are much less ugly than the ones in Twin Snakes. The cutscenes and voice acting are much more to my liking in the original as well. I also never really had any issue with the digital controls in that game.
