it does sound moronic and aiming by pressing the buttons kinda sucked but im currently playing mgs3 emulated with an xbox controller on rpc3 and i unironically think the 3ds one is best and not only because you are able to crouch walk in that game.

it's funny how when MGS2 came out all nerds were seething because no Snake but now looking back, MGS2 has the best Snake experience, despite him not being playable most of the time

I mean I guess the tanker chapter is alright, if you mean gameplay-wise.

Think he means character wise. Snake is an absolute bro throughout the entire game and all of his scenes are great. Having him as a prominent background character but having Raiden not know who he is was such a good idea. Mix that in with the confusion at the time of everyone thinking snake would be the protag since he's showing in big shell footage, then him seemingly dying on the tanker, then solidus calling himself solid snake and the game making you think snake is a terrorist for some reason during the shell briefing. Seeing him as a seal was just pure fricking kino, I still remember being a kid and feeling so happy when you see him sneaking into the big shell right before you.

Idk. I get that, Snake *is* a bro in that game, but MGS1 (psx version) is the definitive Solid Snake experience for me. MGS2 even makes it an overt plot point that it's copying that game.

I started with Snake Eater on 3DS and loved it so much I went back and played in release order
MGS1 is my favorite, such amazing atmosphere, dialogue, characters, and story
MGS2 is great, 3 is great, 4 is good up until Act 3 and doesn't recover until the final boss, PW sucked, V was good but disappointing that it had little story
I don't want any new MGS games but I would love a remake of the MSX ones
    Oh and Rising was neat

I like MGS:TPP but it is pretty grindy. Outside of the missions, the world kind of feels bland too. Also FOB invasions aren't really fun either because people buff their bases up to an incredibly high level that makes it hard to go pacifist. Overall, an okay game that is fun at times.

You're halfway through the game, you got 2 more acts and act 5 is literally just like 2 or 3 rooms and some pretty good bosses
Act 4 is a love it or hate it but I enjoyed it

The ladder half of MGS4 has a few of the series best moments, that I won't spoil. Also if you care about the plot of the series it wraps things up.

Act 4 and 5 are pretty good, probably not enough to make up for how dire the 2nd half of act 2 and all of act 3 are.

      >people always talk about the twist in mgs2 being that you play as raiden, a gay twink, instead of snake
      >no one ever mentions the later twist where it turns out raiden was a child soldier with hundreds of bodies
and it was solidus who did it, no less. i dont think its a very good twist, but i was thinking about the game last night and realized i can't think of a single time this has been mentioned in discussions here

Solidus is right, the only reason to really side against him in the end is because of Olga

I’m working on platting 2 on PS3, I’m on my last play through. Extreme plant. Then it’s on to VR missions, then I’ll continue with my MGS journey with 3.

Good luck anon! I managed to get mine a few months ago, I wouldn't hesitate to look up some boss strategies if you end up banging your head against the wall. I may have sucked out all the fun of the Olga fight by cheesing her, but on the other hand you get fights like the Harrier which starts off rough but feels amazing once you nail it. Same with the Rays.
Wishing you the best for the VR missions too, there are definitely some tough ones in there by the end. Took about 30 hours to do them all, so you might experience a fair bit of burnout. I was worried about moving onto MGS3 because I didn't want to risk messing with my muscle memory so I ended up pushing myself a fair bit- I really should have interspersed VR with the main playthroughs or something for variety's sake...

I saw that MGR got relevant again and decided to try it out and ended up enjoying it a lot. Then decided to play all the other MGS since i always wanted to play them but never got to do so. Enjoyed 1-3 and now I'm trying to play 4.

Also while I don't mind the mission based structure of PW and V, I wish we could've gotten a modern style MGS1/2. I feel like the level design has suffered since PW because of the missions and Ground Zeroes gave me hope because that was beautifully designed but V ended up just having a decent over world

      Based and factual.
Each game has their pros and cons, and even 4/5 with the issues they have, they're still head and shoulders above pretty much everything else.
Every single Metal Gear game is a classic cornerstone game of its generation without exception.
The crybaby complaining and seething about 4 and 5 is cringe and played out.

    >Third person shooting around a braindead and blind AI in an empty space?>
Dunno man, i can reduce every single game like that:
MGS1: Glorified pacman with barebones stealth mechanics and action shit or gimmick shit bosses/encounters every now and then
MGS2: Same stuff, but cooler alert phases
MGS3: Tranq down blind AI, now with camo autism
MGS4: Just crawl and camo through a bunch of unassuming enemies, with even more nanomachines than before!
MGSV: Third person shooting around a braindead and blind AI in an empty space, but with less movie and action shit encounters

TL;DR: Kojima is a fricking hack

also, he was almost certainly the only one in the squad who was white. that mustve sucked. looking back on it now, i guess they re-opened this plotline in MGSV, but it was so preachy in that one i kinda just ignored it. the whole story of 5 was pretty meh, but thats probably because i grew up playing them as they came out, and so putting all the story content on audio tapes just killed it for me

I disagree. It's fun going for all the codenames or just fun mindless playthroughs with stealth camo/bandana.
The gameplay is so rock solid in all of them that replays don't really get old and you always find new things.
Hell, people are still discovering tiny details in MGS2.

I don´t like mgs2 gameplay as much as GZ´s, but i can see why. Like, it takes the more puzzle-like, constrained, indoors stealth of MGS1 and refine it, putting better options to people who like to go non-lethal, also, alert phases are a lot more interesting.
Twin Snakes also has these gameplay elements, but they fricked up by not at least trying to adequate the level design a bit more to the addition of said elements.
Damn, i wish we had a MGS with GZ core gameplay with more indoors stealth... Well, i enjoyed V a lot on it´s own terms, but again...

peace walker is good, its a lot closer to MGSV in that its a mission based game instead of one linear mission like MGS1-3. I played it as a part of the MGS collection on a ps3, cant say how it was on psp

I don't really get why everybody puts Peace Walker so low on their list. Looking back, I still can't phantom how they put so much gamplay on the small PSP discs. The only games that comes close with its amount of content are the Monster Hunter titles.

It had by far the most solid gameplay mechanics out of any Metal Gear game. Even tho 4 was 3rd Person it was still janky as hell. It wasn't the first to introduce Fulton Recovery (I think that title goes to Portable Ops), but they didn't overdo it with wormholes and zombies like V did.

Back then Konami still payed their licenses and used real weapon names, not those Looney Toons abbreviations that MGS V has. Also there was a ton of interesting info on vehicles and equipment akin to the codec calls with the armorer in MGS3.

There was no online development bullshit, everything was tied to misson progression. Want to get a gun quickly? Do a boss battle, and it's done or a couple of easy Side-Ops.

Speaking of Side-Ops. Sure they were somewhat copy and paste, but at least the tried to make them make some sense. Best example was the first Boss Battle. Snake sneaks through an hangar and fights PUPA in an Arena, you might wonder why none of the soldiers rush Snake during the fight. It's because the next Side-Op is to defend the hangar exit from waves of enemies as a mother base soldier. I can't give a rats ass about the 20+ out of context prisoner rescue missions in V, that give me B stat soldiers.

And then there was the Monster Hunter colab. Any game that lets me blast Velocipreys with a 12 Gauge Shotgun or use AA Stinger Missles on a flying Rathlos is a top game in my book.

Unfortunaly I couldn't try out all the Co-op features. I remember you could sync up movement with other players and move like a SWAT team hand on shoulder style. You could climb on boxes of other players to reach secret areas and there was the Rail Gun that could only be fully charged by another player, but would One-Hit anything in the game.

Peace Walker is a mind-blowing psp game, but when you compare it directly to the other mainline games it doesn't stand toe to toe, it's a clear step down.
      Still great though of course.

Revolt. Question your public governments lead through recent time slips.
Time slips are caused by mass public government employees using previously used dates on legal document signature fields like previously used dates are current date. Again, there is a current date, but a previously used date is used on legal document signature fields. A public government employee walks into work, looks at cell phone, news paper, and television. The public government employee sees wrong date. Anyone looking at mainstream newspapers, nationally broadcasted television, or syncronized cell phones? You see a wrong date. Mass public government employees use wrong date on the legal document date field.
Public governments can address liability. Three options. Public government stop relying so crucially to private companies for calendar keeping, and public government compensate victim loss. Stop time slips, and redress grievances. Second? Public government stop collecting taxes, and public government stop spending taxes. Cede opportunities to private companies. Third? Public government employees quit public government jobs, and public government employees forfeit public government job pay. Dissolve government.
