I am a NEET so... I kinda live in that world. But say I find a job, someday: the women are not to be approached, the trannies are not to be approached, good looking normal guys in Blizzard in 2024 do not exist, so I have to find the most autistic asian guy as he may as well be the most normal guy. Then there is this guy: probably gay, bad taste in tattos... but looks surprisingly normal. So my choices are this guy, autistic asians, fat autists? Who else?

Anon I hate to break it to you but 90% of the people in a workplace will not be trans and most of the women will be middle aged or already taken.
In fact from what you posted here I'm going to make the assumption that to certain people in an office you'd be considered the weird antisocial guy who sort of stands around muttering about other people.

I wish I was born in a Muslim country where I did not need to work with women and most guys are the same and have the same name: it would be just so much easier to socialize if you are all so much the same that even your name is "Mohammed" to most of you.
theyre not cool lol. theyre fine on their own, but wheelchairs are just another tag that they can apply to any character for free bonus points. after all, theres no difference between disabled and able-bodied people, chud!
Why would you even think that? Nobody likes Blizzard anymore. Not even the sjws because they're so blatantly obvious with their pandering. >News comes out of some allegation at Blizzard >Before the day ends suddenly get "HEY GUYS, DID YOU KNOW PHARAH IS GAAAAAAAAY!?" in a desperate attempt to cover up the news
>Not even the sjws
That is objectively false. They're the ones whaling for blizzslop. It doesn't matter how blatant and performative they are; the gays, troons, and furries eat it up.
Nah dude, everyone's sick of Blizzard's shit at this point, they're so obvious with it only a few people eat that shit up who are desperate for validation.
Some of them do sure but the vast majority I see of people across the entire political spectrum just don't care about blizzard anymore or hate them. They either think their games are shit, hate the Black folk in them or just are aware that Blizzard only does it to deflect from bad press.
Skyrim, but fallout 4 wasn't THAT bad and 76 was to some extent engoodened
But the level of awful Starfield reached I wouldn't trust them again even if every other post oblivion game was as good as oblivion was
>76 was to some extent engoodened
No. 76 is still the same micro-transactions ridden cashgrab that it was at the start, complete with an atrocious amount of bugs, dogshit gameplay and mechanics, ugly graphics and animations and all based on one of the worst engines that ever existed.
76 is completely irredeemable.
>Skyrim
Skyrim really is an irredeemable pile of shit. Really.
They capped physical damage resistances.
They capped elemental damage resistances.
They capped stealth.
Magic strength doesn't grow with magic skill.
Can't craft your own spells.
Enchantment strength doesn't grow with skill.
Athletics is no longer a skill and can't be improved. You are slow as shit.
Acrobatics is no longer a skill and can't be improved. You can't jump worth shit.
The effects of personality is capped.
You can't fly.
Can't teleport.
Disregarding alchemy/enchantment loops, that is clearly cheesing it in ways those hacks never intended, you effectively reach your character's full potential around level ~25 +-5~ levels depending on the build in question. After which your character will never practically improve again for the remainder of the game. And even at that optimal level, your character remains weak and boring to control.
It's absolutely pathetic. Seriously. And why? For what purpose? It's a single player game. What are they afraid off? And how is cutting character growth short in any way good? Especially since you likely have something like 30-40%~ of the world left unexplored after your character stops improving.
Seriously. Just to highlight how fricked up all these parameter caps are. Heavy armor is practically objectively inferior to lighter armor in Skyrim, because lighter armor still hits the physical resistance cap, with all heavy armor does is going way way past the cap. Which does nothing, it just weighs way more. It's a joke.
I fricking hate Skyrim. Why did they even make it an RPG?
I love RPGs but Skyrim fails so damn hard at being one that it only becomes a nuisance.
>all of a sudden
I've hated it forever.
Or well. Since a couple of months from after its launch.
The game is genuinely pretty shit and it improved like pretty much nothing from the games that preceded it.
Morrowind was the last truly good game of theirs.
Oblivion was chasing LOTR trends and extremely linear and uninspired. Was only saved by stuff like DB questline and Shivering Isles.
Skyrim was slightly better than Oblivion as it was less linear, had a cool atmosphere, some great quest lines like Markarth, Dawnguard (ignoring the moronness with not being able to kill Serana in the DB route), Dragonborn, DB. It was also a very good modding base.
When it comes to Fallout they were never good. Fallout 3 had a fairly cool atmosphere and Moira questline was pretty cool, but they never really understood the lore.
Fallout 4 was absolute trash, the only improvement was multiple factions you could align yourself with, so slightly less linearity.
Not even gonna comment on FO76 and Starfield.
>Fallout 4 was absolute trash, the only improvement was multiple factions you could align yourself with
You might be forgetting about the vastly improved combat, level design and visuals. People /here/ really don't like games as games.
Most shooters don't have meaningful exploration and a wide variety of encounters. And even shallow RPG elements and lore writing are a huge improvement over meaningless shit like Far Cry.
>Morrowind was the last truly good game of theirs.
Knowing what we know now, Morrowind was a complete fluke.
Bethesda wasn't ever really a good developer.
Morrowind wasn't a fluke, Bethesda was just on the verge on bankruptcy and had to put out something mind blowing to save the company.
Now they don't give a frick because they have hundreds of millions of dollars and moron normalgays will lap up whatever garbage they shit out.
Skyrim, but fallout 4 wasn't THAT bad and 76 was to some extent engoodened
But the level of awful Starfield reached I wouldn't trust them again even if every other post oblivion game was as good as oblivion was
Since 2002. That's the correct answer. No need to thank me.
Pokemon without Nintendo would be like Fallout without Microsoft. Pokemon sucks and it's not even Nintendo's fault, Nintendo's in-house devs could so a better job. Actually I think Bethesda could make a better Pokemon game than Gamefreak.
>Actually I think Bethesda could make a better Pokemon game than Gamefreak.
Frick it they should do it, they're a dead studio walking go out swinging making a game to compete with pokémon
If you mean Game Freaks then good. They haven't made a good Pokemon game in generations. At this point the outsourced spinoffs are better than the main titles.
>Vanity fair >Todd Howard the original creator of the Fallout games
These are the same people will cry and moan about people posting fake news around politics, then they enter a space they barely know and post fake news.
For the people that didn't get the joke. GameFreak created Pokemon and marketed it to Nintendo. Nintendo then agreed to a contract to control Pokemon for a decade. Throughout that decade, Nintendo ran it into the ground. While also hiring people to attempt to trick and weasel the IP from GameFreak. As the contract expiration drew closer, Nintendo tried more and more trickery with their scumbag lawyers.
GameFreak held out, then immediately started talks with Sony. Nintendo, which had already purchased stock in the company (so they could profit from buying them out) purchased a large amount of stock, then exercised their right as a shareholder to prevent Sony from improving the IP. Over the years, their lawyers and filth they hired to lie continued to try to weasel another contract with GameFreak. Eventually, GameFreak distanced themselves from Nintendo and planned on going multi-platform, that's when Nintendo hired someone familiar with GameFreak as their CEO.
They probably make more money from live service garbage than the actual releases now. There's no bad time for marketing when that's the case. Releasing new games is mostly for vanity at this point.
It's a shitty situation no matter how you look at it. The show came out swinging but MS is literally too fricking stupid to think ahead.
They acquired Bethesda in 2018. Even if there was no show, they STILL should have known that
A) Fallout is a money making machine same as Elder Scrolls and B) Due to Bethesda's shitty release schedule it'd take nigh on 20 years for a Fallout 5 to happen
Show or not they should've done something, *anything* to get a spin-off be made. Give it to one of the bazillion studios you own, license the IP to an outside studio, hell, build a new studio from the ground up.
It's fricking absurd that they are only *now* thinking of doing this. Even if they start developing a spin-off tomorrow it'd still take 5 years at minimum to come out due to modern game dev length. At that point just wait another few years for Fallout 5 from Bethesda themselves. It's fricking lunacy.
> The show came out swinging but MS is literally too fricking stupid to think ahead.
MS is thinking ahead, they have live service Fallout 76 which has content coming out this year, and planned content to at least 2027, possibly beyond. They shilled 76 so hard alognside the TV show, and it seemingly worked since tons of people are flooding into that game.
Its the same thing with Elder scrolls and ESO. Microsoft is getting money TES yearly since ESO puts out new story content every year.
76 isn't fricking enough. Imagine if they had an actual new single player game set after the events of the show. People forget and move on easily nowadays. 76 will fall off again. They could've gotten way, way more out of this if they really did think ahead.
Given that the show isnt over, and likely doesn't have all of S2 nailed down, not to mention a possible s3, having a game coming out now, set after the show, would just lead to more complaints about retcons and shit.
>Halo game shat on to produce Halo TV >both end up dogshit >Fallout TV somehow gets moronic normalgay attention >try to rush out new Fallout game
stupit, stupid, stupit, Unkle Fil
Seriously why the frick do games take so long to come out now- and they’re all CRAP. These video game companies, if anything, have more staff than ever in their history yet the games come out at a snail’s pace.
Reminder that Skyrim was only 5 years after Oblivion and even that was heralded as a “long ass time,” but was tolerated because Fallout 3 came out in 2008 and New Vegas two years after that. With all their faults, at least they were actually RELEASED.
Idiot take. Uncompressed textures is just a photograph and pasting it. Anything related to 4k makes things easier. 320x240 hand painted textures, those take time.
I swear most companies are just scams at this point. Rather than making a product to sell, they're making a product for "investor" money. Oh and pajeets are rolled in for coding and asset creation, and they are fricking dogshit at it.
Corporate structures are inherently glacial because of how many layers of management need to have meetings to discuss and plan future meetings where they may eventually take a vote on making a decision to have someone do something. Combine that with a widespread competency crisis fueled by zoomers coming out of video game college with curricula designed by non-authorities who arbitrarily decided on a series of "best practices" which are based on a flimsy latticework of theories that consistently fall apart in practice, and you have an entire industry full of dead weight from top to bottom coasting on the fumes of aging franchises and the life support mechanism of increasingly heinous monetization practices, all while the last bastion that is indie gaming stays propped up by an ever-dwindling population of old hats who largely moved on to crowdfunded passion projects over a decade ago.
People are more tolerant of extended development times because the general shift toward infinitely replayable GaaS behavior loops has eroded the precedent of "beating" a game and moving on to the next, effectively making those longer stretches of time less noticeable. Where once an entire four year run of high school could be marked by the release of countless classics and the turn of an entire console generation, now those four years are marked by a single game that a teenager started playing before they entered and will continue playing after they graduate.
Bitches love chris and chris loves em back. Allegations aside.Loved his work in Pathfinder Kingmaker, what's he cooking up now? Unironically the only writer I can stomach in this industry.
>curricula designed by non-authorities who arbitrarily decided on a series of "best practices" which are based on a flimsy latticework of theories that consistently fall apart in practice
Fricking modern UIs, bland and shitty
>now those four years are marked by a single game that a teenager started playing before they entered and will continue playing after they graduate.
Sad how true this is. >played mario kart 8 at a party in high school >spent 5 years at college >spent 2 years homeless >joined military >finished contract >started master's degree >mario kart 8 is still the newest one
>Add in a mechanic that causes NPC to get mad at you if you run into them >Send it to Emil >Wait 2 weeks for Emil's answer >Edit the mechanic based on what Emil want >Send it to Emil again >Wait another 2 weeks >It's implemented but now you have to wait on the dev working on the NPC faction system >3 weeks later its actually put into the current build >Emil decides to change how factions work >Now your "run into them" mechanic is broken >Emil decides to cut that feature
And that's how you waste +3 months of devtime, repeat a thousands times and you get modern game development
In terms of Bethesda its because they don't want to sell you a game, but a platform to build your own game through the use of mods. Todd's constantly talking about how he wants their games to be like Skyrim, something people will still put tons of hours into 5, even 10 years later.
It gets funnier when you realise that Bethesda recently had a bit of a celebration for the 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls as a franchise. Almost half of that time has been waiting for TES VI.
There was definitely a soft crash in the market in the mid 10s that everyone refuses to talk about. You mention this though and you'll get a bunch of troglodytes screaming at you about nostalgia and that New Good Old Bad or whatever because must consume product. We barely even get New Bad anymore! We get New Nothing! 5 years is not supposed to be a "short" dev cycle jesus
Yeah it was a transitory period. Tons of franchises lost their direction, multiple genres died out, and we started to see big name houses shift their focus towards mobile games becuase that was where the money was at. It's also where we started to see a lot the trend chasing/copy design of X popular game start up, which resulted in a lot of games bombing at launch due to people not wanting everything getting CODified while COD players didn't give a shit about those and just stuck to COD
Yeah it's called live service games. It's become pretty much impossible to compete with them, but they make so much money so every suits wastes their time trying to get on the gold mine. Think of pretty much every relevant dev before the 2010s and they have at some point either made a really shitty live service game or a really successful one. The successful ones have years of content that it's really hard to compete as a new game without years of development to grab attention
Bioware died trying to chase the open wold and live service meme. But they had enough time afterwards to turn the ship around.

yeah would also like to add that the ones that do well enough, end up allocating part of the studio to just making more content. Like Rockstar who has made one game in the past decade. And had to kill Red Dead Online because they could not reasonable work on it, GTA Online, and GTA 6 at the same time
The shift to focus on art assets is what eats up the most time by far. 3D models, environments, etc. can take months and even years to put out with how detailed they are nowadays. One of my friends works at Naughty dog and he said it takes around 5-8 weeks to make a single character model. Back in the day, it would've been either 2 days or 1-2 weeks in the PS2 days. Even then most companies could repurpose the same engine and assets and produce sequels at a faster rate.
Now it takes so long to make 1 game, they have to jump engines to keep up with tech advancments and the sequel usually ends up with less content the previous game since they started from scratch.
Yeah, but the issue with the industry is how marketing tries to sell pretty looking graphics and releasing something that looks worse then the competition or the standard gets mocked online. Most companies want to make their product look graphically powerful even if the actual game is weak underneath. Another issue is getting 3D artists is easy as shit since they are in almost every entertainment industry and can shift between film and video games like nothing. Trying to hire for game specific roles like designer or programmer is very difficult in comparison.
and you think they have already started on Fallout 5? It probably won't be another year until they put a team together and most of that will be pre-production. They will have 4 1/2 years of dev time. OoT was first shown in 1995 and released in 1998 so that's 3 years and so was metroid prime. GTA3 took 4 years to make.
Games take about the same time as before but their teams have grown to huge sizes. Especially when it comes to crunch time.
no no keep it with Bethesda we can wait until 2040 for the next Elder Scrolls game, what's 30 years when we're already going to be waiting nearly 20 by the time it comes out.
The dev team can literally hand it over to their children to continue their work soon, so there's no rush.
When I put my children to bed I tell them tales about how they will be able to play elder scrolls 6 when they are grown up. I hope my grandkids enjoy fallout 5.
Does anyone actually care about Xbox anymore? Feels like people just care about PC, PS5 (for the few exclusives it has) and the Switch (to play its games on PC).
congrats on the scraps i already finished it on PC last year in january. still an xbox published game, dont see playstation and xbox as "CONSOLES" anymore now that they're both basically just publishers for PC.
Nobody actually thinks that, they just need something to grandstand about. The dumb Black folk complaining about climate change will gladly use starbucks plastic Kcups that end up in the ocean instead of just making regular coffee beans that are decomposable
New Vegas was an unplayable mess on launch and isn't fun to play despite having better lore writing. Both Avowed and The Outer Worlds aren't even open world, and it's gonna take them five years to make those.
My impression is that there is no good way out of development hell. If they just drop the project then morale will drop massively and most people will quit the company. If they continue they might keep wasting resources on something that might be a disaster on launch. Not to mention that there is no reason to trust the devs after that.
tbh they should have already been doing this (its moronic to have Todd cycle his staff between the two/three IPs) but the fact that I can actually picture execs scrambling Monday morning after the show came out to push more Fallout media makes me kek
They had a decent pace, what slowed them down could have been the opposite, but the new studio was for live service slop, and they were diversity hires that slowed the main studio down and split Todds attention
The live service shit was just them pumping up the stock price for the Zenimax sale, I don't think they had any serious thought about FO76, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Redfall etc. once the Microsoft check cleared. The fact that somehow Playstation users spent so much on Fallout 76 to make it actually viable to continue development is just a weird twist of fate.
>hello slave, implement X, Y and Z within 3 months >two years later, you've been forced to implement 10*X, 10*Y, 10*Z >uh oh slave, haha sorry to let you know this, but we're scrapping X, Y and Z due to time constraints, haha, btw we're on over-overtime now, get started on making A, B and C from scratch >phfew we barely made it with -7 months to spare, now get the frick out you're fired moron (not me though, despite my gross mismanagement im a very important member of the team haha :^)
>Actual nukes went from theory to reality in three years, why does a video game take six years to make?
Billions of dollars of government funding, research, and technology. More than a dozen of the greatest minds doing the science, and then 130,000 people doing the grunt work. All of this with strict time limits and war time morale at the peak.
>before 2030
This is their big move to capitalize on the success of the show? Do people think the Fallout TV show will be on everyones' minds for 6 years? They should've done this as soon as they bought Bethesda and had Fallout 5 ready in time for season 2.
>I think its utterly clear at this point that Phil is moronic, strategically.
No one was going to cancel Starfield in 2021 after the acquisition when it was originally supposed to launch that year as well.
It's mostly a "Bethesda is fricking lazy and procrastinates" issue with them doing nothing for the first 7-8 years of a 10 year development cycle then being forced to crunch for 2 years after Zenimax puts it's boot down for the 10th time and we get a rushed patch job.
>Yakuza development times are straight out unthinkable in current times.
Yeah but someone would call out if Nathan Drake just happened to explore the same ancient civilizations every year with a minor cosmetic makeover and some different rooms
new vegas took 1.5 years. If Microsoft just gave obsidian all the fallout 4 and 76 assets and told them to shit out a new game I dont think anyone would complain, least of all new Vegas fans. It would probably look better than outer worlds too since their art direction is awful.

Inside a corporate shill fairyland isn't "outside Ganker", dumb shill.
I imagine they want whoever to use the fallout 4 engine again to do a what new vegas did with fo3. And considering microwiener has obsidian they could just hand it off to them again.
>Microsoft hires Obsidian to do it >They get Avellone back on the team >They ditch the terrible Creation Engine >Fallout Midwest is announced, featuring drivable cars and armed vertibirds >Mass Bethdrone suicide
I'm excited for this
>They get Avellone back on the team
Ahh yes Chris "MUH BULLS MUH BEARS!" Avellone. Not happening. >Fallout Midwest is announced, featuring drivable cars and armed vertibirds
It would be exactly like NV, not big neough to warrant it. >They ditch the terrible Creation Engine
If anything they would have Obsidian use Creation Engine since its an updated Gamebryo, and Chris and Sawyer have sucked off Gamebryo's ease of use, and versatility, as being the only reason NV was able to be made in 18 months.
It will be funny if they give it to some zoomer studio that would rather be making Undertale and we get even more technically inept and flanderized Fallout than Bethesda
They're going to give it to Arkane. Redfall, while a failure as a game, was largely intended to give the studio the necessary experience to create a larger scale open world and allow them to create dev tools/online infrastructure to be used in Fallout 5. Screenshot it

>few directors would be able to portray the crushing atmosphere of dust
Why not? >Dust storm everywhere >Random enemies trying to kill you >Dead bodys and destroyed shit because "MUH WORLD IS DOOMED"
Literally the easiest shit ever.
They couldn't do it again for FO4 because the engine is dogshit
the paranoia and powerlessness the player feels in game is hard to translate when your spectating a protagonist whos "invincible" for the sake of the narrative
It could do something really unique and shift between random perspectives each episode, with stories being linked and shit. >Story about an NCR trooper trying to survive, he gets killed or maimed at the end of the episode. >Episode about a random ghoul escaping to the casino and figuring out where the fog men came from before getting trapped there. >Episode about a supermutant trying to come to terms with how it was human and preform critical thinking while the rest of its friends keep telling it to stop thinking about that shit. >Episode with a guy escaping, surviving until the end and catching a glimpse of the courier before he meets the cast from season one and tells them about how fricked shit is in new vegas and how glad he is to have finally escaped.
It'd keep you on your toes because "Oh shit is this guy gonna live or die this episode?" It'd be a coin toss if this character you like will survive or not, or maybe suffer a terrible fate at the hands of the gas or other factions.
That doesn't necessarily mean Fallout 5.
That could mean Fallout: A Supermutant's Tale, a visual novel dating sim. Or Fallout: the Digital Trading Card game.
Microsoft paid a lot of money for Bethesda so of course they'll prostitute out the IPs Bethesda held. If anything it's surprising they haven't gone gung-ho dumping The Elder Scrolls-branded kusoge.
>Josh, you dumb old bicycle cyclist that looks like Henry Rollins moronic, uncool brother. Remember Baldur's Gate 3 and how you and everyone shat their pants over it? Here's the Fallout license. Make Fallout 5 but Baldur's Gate 3.
>Betheseda hasnt made a good game
You could've stopped there. Morrowind was also shit and heckled by us real RPG gamer homiez. I know. I'm an old school RPG Codexer.
Like I said several months ago when Starfield flopped and Bethesda started "retiring" several high profile employees. I was laughed at but:
Microsoft is EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in Bethesda and are now looking into other studios they've acquired (Obsidian is number one obviously) to be their "RPG studio" going forward instead. Even if TES6 delivers, don't expect Elder Scrolls to be a Bethesda exclusive anymore.
(And Todd Howard probably won't be with the company for long. But now he's a TV show producer instead so don't feel bad.)
Here's an unrelated picture.
He was already burning bridges before he got blacklisted so he's probably still persona non grata by most of the industry hacks, especially considering he's already mouthing off about the tv show. Owlcat might throw him some work at some point if he wants it
The initial accusations were dozens of women which later got reduced to a couple for whatever reason. My read is that a lot of people in the industry really hate him and are willing to shit on him regardless if it's deserved or not.
>visuals outdated
Why does the average person lack artistic taste? I’m a zoom zoom but it takes an absolute fricking dipshit moron to not recognise the artistic merit of the first two compared to like fo3 and nv (visually)
Playing 1 for the first time a couple of years ago I'd say yeah gameplay wise it's a bit dated (but not impenetrable unless you're a complete normalgay) but I loved the look and feel of Fallout 1 and 2.
Anon, they only started with TES6 after Starfield was finished. Fallout 5 was not planned until after TES6 was out of the Door.
Microsoft evidently had those plans changed now.
I think it has more to do with the fact that TES6 is gonna take them at least 4 years to get out the gate and they want to milk Fallout while the frenzy lasts.
>take 15 years to make sequels because you are a snail >shit out Fallout 76 to revolting backlash >waste resources fixing it for better part of a decade >Enter Xbox >Arkane shits out Redfall to critical and commercial disaster >spend better part of a decade making Starfield instead of Elder Scrolls or Fallout >has lukewarm at best reception >some Gankergay makes a show without you and normies love it and love Fallout because of it >fallout sales through the roof on discounted old games >someone else made fallout a success >Phil Spencer sees Todd slowly pushing Bethesda's wheelchair towards Elder Scrolls while Todd says Fallout is another 12 years away
Xbox was moronicly patient with Bethesda.
This is only happening as a result of the tv show. I fully expect Microsoft was betting on this being another Halo tv show tier and was ready to watch Fallout rot in obscurity with the rest of Xbox's IP swamp. Look at what they did with Halo.
why would they give a shit if fallout rots in obscurity? it always sold a fraction of what the elder scrolls did. The success of new vegas was almost exclusively to do with Bethesda reviving it and it literally piggy backing off fallout 3, its basically a glorified mod. If they gave it to obsidian you would get outer worlds tier slop, they are a shitty b-tier studio and have only gotten worse since NV.
Bethesda's time is better spend on other things and any studio they own that is capable of making a good fallout has their own valuable IP.
fallout 1 sales >600k
fallout 2 sales >123k
BETHESDA fallout 3 sales >12.4 million
you are a moron, Bethesda bought it because they saw potential and it was sold because it didn't make the original creators enough money. Fallout only exists today because of Bethesda.

1 and 2 were PC exclusive 1997 games when PC was an absolutely miniscule market for gaming compared to what it is now. 1 was a big success, 2 was a flop but both games gathered huge following after their release and were widely lauded as one of the greatest RPGs ever. Thats like saying Larian made the BG IP valuable because it sold a shitton more copies than its 20+ years old predecessors

making more shit up huh? >Red Alert was a commercial success, with global sales of 1.5 million copies in its debut month. Over half of these sales derived from North America. It sold close to 2 million copies by mid-February 1997.

Red Alert was also part of one of the few genres that did well on PC back then - real time strategy. Comparing Fallout to the top 3 best selling game of 1997 is moronic. I never said it was the best selling game of its time, just that it sold very well. It's like saying Fallout 3 was a flop because it didnt sell half of what GTA 4 did. Nice logic.
If you want to see how well Bethesshit does with an original IP, look no further than Starflop.

you made a moronic claim that PC gaming was incredibly niche in 1997 to make it seem like 600k was ever a massive success let alone the 1997 equivalent of 13 million in 2008. This is ignoring what an inarguable flop fallout 2 was.

Fallout 3 gets a lot of shit for what it is as a Fallout game, but if it was called anything else it would have been held up as a great post-apocolypse game for the 7th gen.
Fallout is also shit as a non-fallout game, because it's post-apocalyptic oblivion, complete with all its flaws. >extremely dogshit graphics and animations for its time >nonsensical quests >nonsensical writing and lore >nonsensical world-building >extremely bad combat >extremely bad designed and nonsensical environment and villages
the only """good""" thing about oblivion fallout is the open exploration. in the sense of: you can go somewhere and can be sure you will find something there. that's it. that's ALL there is no bethesda fallout games. every single other aspect is complete ass.
those games are a fricking joke, and I will repeat myself here: they sold despite of bethesda, not because of them.

Since then a lot of games and developers have taken influence from Bethesda. Far Cry 3 was literally marketed as Skyrim with guns. Breath of the Wild also took a lot of cues from Todd. The Witcher 3 went for the open world meme even though it's very different. People liked New Vegas because it was an open world game with better lore writing. Now you have games like Cyberpunk and Elden Ring that people claim are improvements over the Bethesda formula.
Anonymous
what a load of bullshit. cyberpunk tries to be a mix of deus ex and gta, while for ER, fromsoft simply took their own formula of being able to see POIs from far away and extended it to an entire game.
far cry and witcher 3 are far more related to skyrim, but also only very distant and even more theme park oriented.
all bethesda games, without exception, make the player feel like an intruding scavenger, because every moveable item can be picked up, and every moveable item in a city will get you marked as criminal an NPC sees you picking it up. and at the core, all bethesda games are about constantly picking up moveable items. the dialoge and writing? absolutely irrelevant. the combat? don't make me laugh. the RPG stats? they only help you pick up more items faster.

Elfen Ring copied Breath of the Wild which in turn was copying Ubisoft and Bethesda.
Cyberpunk is nothing like Deus Ex and they went fully for the Ubisoft meme of having tons of activities all over the map. That's also a thing that Todd pioneered.

The level design in Bethesda games is good, it doesn't make much sense logically but most people don't care about that since it's a video game.

>The level design in Bethesda games is good
what the frick are you talking about
bethesda designs the worst villages and the worst dungeons in the entire industry. their environmental storytelling literally is >200 years after the bombs fell, lonely people have set up shops across the wasteland in various ruins, all alone, complete with broken windows, the floor full of pre-war trash and a pre-war skeleton with rotten clothes just chilling in a booth next her, and for some reason raiders, who are literally everywhere haven't robbed and killed them yet

The world building you criticize can be said for 90% of video games and even then, Fallout 3’s criticisms have been exaggerated or fallacious if you remove fallout from the title >why do everyone live in shacks 200 years later
Andale, Rockopolis, Tenpenny, Underworld, Point Lookout, the Pitt >what do they eat
Trade caravans are an entire system, vendors carry mutated fruits and meats, there are hydroponic farms visible and implied >why aren’t they visible
why weren’t farms visible in every video game town in existence to explain what they eat. Where was the farms in midgar, riven, petalburg, where was the farms for candlekeep, where was the farms for Ishgard in FFXIV, where was the farms for Sigil, Dunwall, Orzammar, Ironforge, where was the farms for San Francisco, Vault City, New Reno and what the frick do all the Divide’s Marked Men eat? The answer is “ludonarrative dissonance”, it’s all offscreen somewhere and there’s just enough of whatever is needed to support the plot. This was never anything but slop arguments for ragebait YouTube thinkpieces and RPG codex users, still mad at Bethesda after 16 years for denying them Van Buren
Not even addressing your other arguments, you hold Fallout 3 to a seperate standard from all other games because you came with a moronic fanboy’s presupposition and you always will.

>why do everyone live in shacks 200 years later
that was not was I was saying. bethesda fallout is known for having single persons live in the middle of the wasteland as stationary traders in completely trashed ruins. no clean up, no boarding up windows, nothing, they just standing in their own filth, surrounded by 200 year old corpses and trash, and tell your their heart-breaking story of how they run this story since a decade now.
everything about bethesda's writing and world-building is absolute batshit insane moronic. >Not even addressing your other arguments
I know, because if you had to aknowledge how absolute dogshit bethesda games are, in terms of combat, writing and rpg systems, you wouldn't be able to discuss in their favor anymore because you wouldn't be able to find ANYTHING redeemable besides "you can go to some place and pick up items from the ground there".

The combat and writing in the Bethesda games was pretty decent for their time and the way they simplified the RPG elements was a good idea. I was playing Fallout 4 recently and the shooting was more enjoyable than slop like Call of Duty, mostly because the level design, alongside the enemy and weapon variety.

yeah, Microsoft wanted Bethesda. They also wanted a bunch of hardcore gaming studios to pump out content for their gamepass service. saying they bought zenimax purely for fallout and elder scrolls is moronic, they needed more than 1 game every 6-7 years.

>they bought zenimax purely for fallout and elder scrolls
Correct.
Remember Starfield was meant to come out a whole year before it actually did.
Imagine the absolute state the game must have been in before Phil made them taken longer.
Can't wait for them to retrofit the spaceship system in Starfield for an actual ship in Elder Scrolls 6 and you find procedurally generated islands in the ocean between loading screens.
Fallout 3 is in the running for ugliest game of all time, the sort of ugly that doesn't even have any charm. Just one big sea of grey plastic through a green tinged filter.
It's wishful thinking, taking Fallout IP from Bethesda is like taking Baldur's Gate 4 from Larian. Like who else can make a good Fallout 5? People are delusional enough to think Obsidian can when trying to make a wannabe Oblivion was already asking too much from them. Not to mention Obsidian is committed to TOW2 and wouldn't be able to release a Fallout 5 before 2030. Inexile seems to be better equipped and trying to be more ambitious than Obsidian, then again they have been very quiet about their new game which is suspicious. And again they will need to scale up massively to make a Fallout 5, something I doubt will happen.
Maybe someone like CDPR can be trusted to make Fallout 5, but yes that will never happen.
>And again they will need to scale up massively to make a Fallout 5, something I doubt will happen.
have a nice day. The need to make everything BIGGER™ is what is killing games, Devs need to stop making giant maps with either pointless busywork in them or nothing and shilling their game on "look how big our world is!"
It really doesn't matter. I'll wager it isn't Obsidian though. They are having enough game production issues on their own. And thats a good thing because they haven't made a good game in well over a decade. Just give a studio a dev kit and source code to fallout 4. I look at games like New Vegas and ODST, and I don't understand why that style of game production hasn't been more of a thing in recent years.
give it to obsidian again for the lulz, it couldn't be worse than fo4 or ow1
michealsoft doesn't really have any other studios that could handle an rpg
>it couldn't be worse than fo4 or ow1
You haven't been paying attention to Obsidian for a while have you? They got Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky to make a brand new setting and the best they could come up with was "what if space capitalism with rick and Morty humour and gays?"
i've played outer worlds, yes. it ranged from mediocre to just bad. it at least tried to be an rpg.
i don't trust either of them to make a fallout game in current year but obsidian has a higher chance making something at least half decent.
bethesda has been shitting the bed since skyrim at the latest and starfield was dumpster fire. they're deathly allergic to making good games and they deserve to have their ip's stripped from them even if the new devs aren't much better
>but obsidian has a higher chance making something at least half decent.
Sure but at this point it's like a 5% increase. The only Obsidian game I've heard of being something people liked recently was Pentiment which was apparently Sawyer's small autismo project.
>people liked recently was Pentiment
that and people say the combat in grounded was pretty good which has me cautiously optimistic for their skyrim knock off. the magic in the trailer looks really cool too, better than skyrim
maybe something nice will happen. what a sad state of affairs
Okay? I mean if Skyrim 2 is gonna take up the rest of the generation, might as well get one of their dozen other studios to do something. Not like "from the creators of Fallout" is gonna work a second time for Outer Worlds 2 advertising anyway, unless they demonstrate immediately apparent improvements and throw in romance options cause you know that's what half the people playing RPGs care about these days. Avowed is already shooting itself in the foot not having it.
>throw in romance options cause you know that's what half the people playing RPGs care about these days.
Yes and I hate it. I don't mind romance itself but I hate the gays obsessed with it, the types who played Baldurs Gate 3.
Not enough people talk about how mr house has an ego just as big if not bigger than ceasers, he's just got the smarts to (somewhat) back it up.
I mean he talks about sending people to the moon and getting colonies up there, he's clearly got a fricking complex but he is actually smart and can run a decent society that makes him loads of money and gets him a frick load of influence.
Ceaser on the other hand is literally just doing a step by step recreation of the roman empire, guy isn't even smart enough to use sticks as his currency.
The main storyline was kind of shit but some dickhead called TK mantis riled up a massive hate storm it did not fricking deserve even if it had some really bad dialogue in the brotherhood quest and a mid wild wasteland sex option with some lizard-bitch.
My advice? Install it, ignore the main questline and dick around. The sidequests are amazing and it's super fun to drive around shooting shit and exploring the really cool open world.
Best quest for me was helping out the slaver companion who you don't know is a slaver.
To add onto this, TK mantis was really pissed he didn't get accepted to voice a character so he searched through their voice acting list to air out dirty laundry to try to drum up hate for the mod because he was jealous he wasn't in it.
After that the sex lizards became a massive thing. In reality the worst part of that mod was the BROTHERHOOD QUESTLINE stay away from that shit my dude.
Nah, I'm white and played the mod at launch, it sucked. None of the companions were good but America was clearly someone's shitty waifu they wanted to put in the game.
The dudes developing the brotherhood questline were actual creeps.
The NCR questline jacks you off too much even if it is just a goofy action hero flick
The legion questline is just average. It's not great or anything it's just fricking average and gets kind of shit.
Most of the sidequests are so good though, which is because they had a bunch of talented dudes working on them rather than the main story which was made by some insane fricking lunatics who jack off to deathclaws or something.
I recall liking one short fairly simple side quest where you meet a tribal and doctor, where you learn about the tribals culture and he wants to to undergo their rituals before fighting you in honourable combat, was a neat one that stuck with me.
I played it and was posting shit from the legion questline. The cars were neat (which are going to be a standalone mod anyway), I enjoyed some side quests and the worldspace was good. But the writing was dogshit, some quests were really bad and it is as buggy as frick. The mod really jerks off the Courier.
I recall that apparently someone was trying to make a rework of the mod but I don't know if that's going, I doubt it.
>no cars or bikes in any of the Bethesda games (because vehicles are not developed in their oblivion-clone template) >everything looks small and medieval, small towns right next to Deathclaws (because that's how it is in their oblivion template) >quest writer writes that ghouls are literally immortal, don't need food, water, oxygen, and can live forever, game director who got with making video game says: lmao imagine caring about video games
Extremely sane decision to take the IP out of the hands of these idiots.
if Microsoft was smart they would start hot swapping IP between their devs, they have basically all the most talented 1st person shooter devs in the industry but they are all stuck making IP they have grown tired and weary of.
Reminder that people think this is one of the most amazing games of all time because of their millennial nostalgia about being in a 3d rendered world for the first time; and as a consequence of that they swallowed 5 more titles that are literally just re-skins of the first game.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Teh Frontier. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of post-apocalyptic science, most of the jokes will go over a typical player's head. There's also the game's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into its gameplay - the worldbuilding draws heavily from classic post-apocalyptic literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence, people who dislike Frontier truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humor in the game's existential catchphrase "War. War never changes," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as TGspy's genius wit unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Fallout tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 SPECIAL points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid
Fallout, Skyrim, and now Starfield; these games are literal porn platforms for boomers and freaks who haven't yet figured out that they can download their own game engines like Godot and play with 3d dolls as much as they want.
Do you know how many downloads the BodySlide and Outfit Studio has on Nexus mods? 8 Million.
The "immersive wenches" mod has 4.5 million downloads.
Bethesda would have flopped 2 decades ago if it wasn't for boomers using their games as a tool for masturbation. These morons could have used an open source engine to make their own sandbox playground for dolls and custom games, instead, they spent thousand of hours doing free labor to make shit-tier porn mods to a corporation featuring horribly textured 3d models that look like they're made of rubber.
Bethesda is the Picture of Dorian Gray of the industry.
They encapsulate literally every bad aspect of video games, from management to monetization to gameplay. They are a mirror to every shortcoming and withering away right before our eyes.
More like Microsoft is fricking PISSED that they weren't already making a Fallout when they bought them.
It's such a popular franchise that it's kinda crazy that only two games have come out in like 10 years.
People act like bethesda does a shit job with fallout but holy frick if microsoft took full control it could be SO MUCH FRICKING WORSE.
You guys are blinded by your hate for bethesda, they are the devil you know, and I assure you a fallout game made by anyone other than them or obsidian will be absolute dogshit.
Microsoft is unironically worse than Bethesda. Their shit is so sterile to make sure it doesn't offend anyone. You'll never get the crazy shit again, like becoming a pornstar in Fallout 2 or working for the slavers in Fallout new vegas.
This guy gets it
Bethesda may produce shit and sometimes pander but god damn they fricking try and at least they somewhat respect the setting and are willing to let you do edgy terrible shit.
Microsoft would absolutely water that shit down and make sure it offends nobody while being as safe as possible and pandering to as many people as they can. >Fallout suffers the same fate as assasins creed
Todd I'm begging you make sure Microsoft doesn't get their hands on fallout to give off to some shitty studio.
Unless it's obsidian, they could probably make something decent even with most of the original writers having retired or left the company.
If I had to guess what microsoft's current plans are? New vegas remaster followed by using the engine/assets as a base for fallout 5 either developed by obsidian or bethesda. Microsoft aren't stupid guys, they know that people would pay top dollar for a good fallout NV remake. Cut out some of the edgy shit, water down some of the mechanics and add in some extra shit and slap on better gunplay and hell you'd have something an absolute frick load of people would be willing to buy and play.
I'm honestly shocked they never did it in whatever fallout 4 was. Would've been perfect.
Microsoft will surely give them the kick in the ass they need, I'll be so disappointed in Microsoft as a business if they don't do it.
Obsidian was on the verge of bankruptcy at time time. Underage tourists just don't know how close they were to being shut down only to be saved by israelitestarter and Microsoft.
You don't have to guess. The leaks confirmed they were working on remakes for Oblivion and Fallout 3 and none of those materliazed. Microsoft is just an insanely incompetent company and Bethesda is not doing them any favors either.
Its fricking amazing how far up in the clouds these companies are: Financial failure after financial failure after Microsoft keep their revolving door policy of firing contractors after 18 months, then right after Larian sweeps the game awards and makes fricking bank on a game and when told their secret they say "We took our time and made a game we wanted to play." All of this just goes straight past Microsoft that still bangs their drum going "More titles! We need more titles! Faster!"
Well, I for one am cheering them on, they cant crash and burn fast enough so I can buy the Fallout IP from Phil for a strawberry yogurt lid. And only after he signed the dotted line does he notice I already licked it clean.
Checked, Bethy's real issue is that their uninspired as frick. They could've done ANYTHING with the space setting and did frick all with the potential. Larian was at least inspired, you could tell those guys were running a forgotten realms campaign or two during development.
Fact: no other developer is better at making first person open worlds with physics and interactable PC's than bethesda. They practically have a stranglehold on that style of game. Even New vegas was only possible because Obsidian got the engine and assets from bethesda. Lament how ever much you want about how bad the creation engine is but there's no real substitute for it.
That they don't have a Fallout in development now shows how badly both MS and Bethesda are managed.
You have to assume someone there was watching the daily footage from the tv show production and could piece together they had a hit on their hands.
I would imagine most of their resources are going into ES6 and doing what the can to turn Starfield into No Man's Sky in terms of having a "Wow they added so much, it's worth playing now" type of experience.
The creators of Fallout are currently working on The Outer Worlds 2 rather than a new Fallout game, which is completely insane. At least with inXile they have the excuse that they didn't know how successful top down games could be until BG3 came out.
From the emergency meeting so Screen cap this >Takes place in LA >RPG >No online at launch >Basically the real Fallout 3 >Todd producing >Rare, Treyarch, and Arkane Studios in the lead for the project >shooting for November 13, 2026
Honestly Treyarch is the best pic there. Call of Duty games are still functional and all the Warzone assets are already made. The problem is getting them writers.
>Unrealsloppa
you just know it's going to happen. every inhouse ms engine is going to shit (creation engine, idtech, blam) and its more productive to hire people who are already trained with the target engine
they could easily tho.Re-use the assets ,try to find someone with a good story in head ,release the dlc of 10 hours of content for 10 dollars easy cash every 5/6 months. You can't tell me with a dedicated team you can't fricking do that.Skyrim has been released in 2011 seriously.
>try to find someone with a good story in hea
This is way harder than it seems at first glance. Even worse because a Fallout game requires dozens of writers.
i'm not even talking about a whole fallout game ,i'm talking about doing something with their ip.Skyrim was released in 2011 ,they made two dlc with a story.FO4 in 2015 two dlc with a story.
Like come on those guys have been sitting on two great ip loved by fans and they did shit with it and considering what they did with starfield you seriously wonder what the frick are they doing...
This is really bad for fallout, Todd didn't understand fallout and bastardized it. Whoever takes up the reigns will make a bastardized version of Todd's fallout rather than one of fallout itself.

Understandable. Bethesda hasn't made a good game since... uh...
Huh...
erm
Yup.
Well…
…Maybe.
Since 2011, and that’s being generous.
I love RPGs but Skyrim fails so damn hard at being one that it only becomes a nuisance.
>we hate skyrim all of a sudden
>all of a sudden
I've hated it forever.
Or well. Since a couple of months from after its launch.
The game is genuinely pretty shit and it improved like pretty much nothing from the games that preceded it.
Skyrim is clearly better than Oblivion and only a mentally ill moron would deny this.
Yeah well my girlfriend likes it and so do 20 million other girlfriends so
>stealth bows you
Morrowind was the last truly good game of theirs.
I recently played Fallout 4 and it's very good.
then you have shit taste for Fallout games.
>Fallout 4 was absolute trash, the only improvement was multiple factions you could align yourself with
You might be forgetting about the vastly improved combat, level design and visuals. People /here/ really don't like games as games.
yeah, but a big part of an rpg is the quests and writing, without that you just get a mediocre shooter.
Since 2002. That's the correct answer. No need to thank me.
What was their good 2002 game?
starfield
impossible, fallout without bethesda is like pokemon without nintendo
>zoomzoom thinks Bethesda created Fallout
moron, Bethesda were the ones who made Fallout 3.
>Old games were so bad it made the company sell the ip
Stop pretending you played Fallout before Bethesda owned it.
I played Fallout 2 when it came out
AHAHAHA
Sure ya did, kid
well it's not like nintendo made pokemon either
So... good?
TPBP.
So this?
Blows my mind how almost every Pokemon spinoff is amazing, and mainline continues to be dogshit
If you mean Game Freaks then good. They haven't made a good Pokemon game in generations. At this point the outsourced spinoffs are better than the main titles.
this is how brainwashed reddit actually is.
No surprise I'm the only one who gets the joke
imagine if they got the old interplay team back together to make 5 and went hands off?
LITERAL FRICKING KINO right there would print billions
Interplay created Fallout you moron, not Bethesda.
Wrong
>Vanity fair
>Todd Howard the original creator of the Fallout games
These are the same people will cry and moan about people posting fake news around politics, then they enter a space they barely know and post fake news.
Samegay
r/woooosh to all these repliers xD
So like Palworld, which was better then any recent Pokémon game?
Bethesda fallouts are fanfiction and a parody of the universe, Rakesh
Don't worry Anon, I got the joke.
Didnt "pokemon without nintendo" sell like 20m copies in 1-2 weeks?
>3-4 replies get the joke
>everyone else seething and choking on the bait
excellent post
Eventually, GameFreak distanced themselves from Nintendo and planned on going multi-platform, that's when Nintendo hired someone familiar with GameFreak as their CEO.
every fallout game not created by bethesda was good.
Pokemon would unironically be higher quality if it was under Nintendo instead of Game Freak.
>all these anon who didn't get the joke
jesus christ
oh the humanity!
Sounds good to me
This is what some good old-fashion trolling looks like.
obsidibros... it's time
If only modern Obsidian was actually capable of making good games. Unfortunately, they just make stinker after stinker.
boy they sure made a television show at the exact wrong time to effectively capitalize on it
Yeah, and now they're gonna rush out the next Fallout game because of it.
Good, if its bad it was rushed, if it's great.. *takes glasses off and glares at Bethesda* Fool me once..
They probably make more money from live service garbage than the actual releases now. There's no bad time for marketing when that's the case. Releasing new games is mostly for vanity at this point.
It was a test obvs and they are planning for 5 seasons anyway.
Biggest psyop in recorded history?
Microsoft spent literal billions on Minecraft in 2014 and have done approximately frick all with it in the past decade.
i wonder how much they've made off it by now.
>Halo game shat on to produce Halo TV
>both end up dogshit
>Fallout TV somehow gets moronic normalgay attention
>try to rush out new Fallout game
stupit, stupid, stupit, Unkle Fil
i cant wait to be a vault troony
2030? thats crazy, these games are coming out so fast i can't keep up, Fallout 4 was barely a decade ago
i hate the future
games take 10x longer to make but are 10x worse
Seriously why the frick do games take so long to come out now- and they’re all CRAP. These video game companies, if anything, have more staff than ever in their history yet the games come out at a snail’s pace.
Reminder that Skyrim was only 5 years after Oblivion and even that was heralded as a “long ass time,” but was tolerated because Fallout 3 came out in 2008 and New Vegas two years after that. With all their faults, at least they were actually RELEASED.
because they don't want you playing games they want you working
It's because of 4K Black folk unironically. Maybe things will speed up with AI.
Idiot take. Uncompressed textures is just a photograph and pasting it. Anything related to 4k makes things easier. 320x240 hand painted textures, those take time.
yeah, let me just go out and photograph the post nuclear apocalypse
detroit only gets you so far anon
Absolutely moronic belief. As expected out of the morons from /misc/. Pointing fingers at everyone except the actual problem.
rent free
games are made by suits and investors now
I swear most companies are just scams at this point.
Sad how true this is.
>played mario kart 8 at a party in high school
>spent 5 years at college
>spent 2 years homeless
>joined military
>finished contract
>started master's degree
>mario kart 8 is still the newest one
>Add in a mechanic that causes NPC to get mad at you if you run into them
>Send it to Emil
>Wait 2 weeks for Emil's answer
>Edit the mechanic based on what Emil want
>Send it to Emil again
>Wait another 2 weeks
>It's implemented but now you have to wait on the dev working on the NPC faction system
>3 weeks later its actually put into the current build
>Emil decides to change how factions work
>Now your "run into them" mechanic is broken
>Emil decides to cut that feature
And that's how you waste +3 months of devtime, repeat a thousands times and you get modern game development
Shit like this is why smaller studios put out games with more functionality than anything AAA has produced in decades.
In terms of Bethesda its because they don't want to sell you a game, but a platform to build your own game through the use of mods. Todd's constantly talking about how he wants their games to be like Skyrim, something people will still put tons of hours into 5, even 10 years later.
yes STILL NO CREATION KIT FOR STARFIELD TODD
How many studios shut down in the mid 2010s?
Probably 1000's of studios closed trying to chase mobile and fb browser game money
I would rather less detailed character models and have games that release more than once a decade and actually run on mid tier hardware.
>A Link to the Past Release Date 1991
>Ocarina of Time Release Date 1998
>Super Metroid Release Date 1994
>Metroid Prime Release Date 2002
We had to wait 8 years to get a sequel to our favorite games. It hasn't changed.
It wasn't 8 years of dev time though zoomer bro.
and you think they have already started on Fallout 5? It probably won't be another year until they put a team together and most of that will be pre-production. They will have 4 1/2 years of dev time. OoT was first shown in 1995 and released in 1998 so that's 3 years and so was metroid prime. GTA3 took 4 years to make.
Games take about the same time as before but their teams have grown to huge sizes. Especially when it comes to crunch time.
They already own the IP, dumbass, and Bethesda is making it anyway.
>Bethesda is making it anyway.
COPE
They'll get a choice, if they want fallout that means ES6 will be given to another studio
no no keep it with Bethesda we can wait until 2040 for the next Elder Scrolls game, what's 30 years when we're already going to be waiting nearly 20 by the time it comes out.
The dev team can literally hand it over to their children to continue their work soon, so there's no rush.
this, plus we got 1000 planets in starfield to explore while we wait, let todd cook!
>PS5 (for the few exclusives it has)
it has 2, both are confirmed to come to PC sometime
>Does anyone actually care about Xbox anymore
as a publisher, yeah. i played hi fi rush
>i played hi fi rush
Also available on the PS5
congrats on the scraps i already finished it on PC last year in january. still an xbox published game, dont see playstation and xbox as "CONSOLES" anymore now that they're both basically just publishers for PC.
You’re a virgin lol
Nice declaration of defeat.
seethe Xjeet. You will never get Helldivers 2.
>NO PLEASE GIVE ME THE SONYSHIT GAAS
you'll never get palworld
That trash is already on PC. Wow, you Sony Black folks are still braindead dumb
I became a pc phag after 360, is this true? What games does ps have? Never hear anything about the system
No one gives a frick about PS5 except FIFA turd worlders
>"""""reportedly"""""
Errrrr wasnt vegas made by not todd?
It was all the best fallout stories come from not todd so this could be great news we won't get more garbage and less rpg in the game.
Games shouldn't take longer than 3.5 years to develop.
2030? So they don't actually think climate change is going to destroy the world?
Nobody actually thinks that, they just need something to grandstand about. The dumb Black folk complaining about climate change will gladly use starbucks plastic Kcups that end up in the ocean instead of just making regular coffee beans that are decomposable
Microsoft doesn't own any studio that would be capable of making a good Fallout game.
Still better than Bethesda
new vegas is literally the best fallout game
The people who wrote New Vegas have all left the company except for Josh Sawyer who transitioned into a lesbian grandma.
The people who made that company good have long left it. It's like saying Bethesda made Morrowind therefor TESVI will be good
Sawyer is still there and he's almost single-handedly responsible for NV being good.
Not according to steam.
??
New Vegas was an unplayable mess on launch and isn't fun to play despite having better lore writing. Both Avowed and The Outer Worlds aren't even open world, and it's gonna take them five years to make those.
>people uninronically think NV and the TV show are good
this is why everything sucks nowadays
>frickstain thinks Obsidian is the same company from 14 years ago
Stupid fricking moron lmao
arkane
InExile and the State of Decay goyim devs could make good Fallout spinoffs
Both of those devs are in the middle of development hell for other games.
Honestly they could drop them or put them on hold for the Fallout bucks. It would be justified
My impression is that there is no good way out of development hell. If they just drop the project then morale will drop massively and most people will quit the company. If they continue they might keep wasting resources on something that might be a disaster on launch. Not to mention that there is no reason to trust the devs after that.
How is this a bad thing? While you are at it, give Pokemon to someone else than Gamefreak.
tbh they should have already been doing this (its moronic to have Todd cycle his staff between the two/three IPs) but the fact that I can actually picture execs scrambling Monday morning after the show came out to push more Fallout media makes me kek
Bethesda did the same thing before with NV so they could work on Skyrim
Bros, we might be getting another obsidian fallout!!!! And it will be just as amazing as Outer Worlds and Avowed
Obsidian would have to drop The Outer Worlds 2
do you really want Tim and Leonard to do that!?
>drop The Outer Worlds 2
>do you really want Tim and Leonard to do that!?
Yes
>And it will be just as amazing as Outer Worlds and Avowed
Actual nukes went from theory to reality in three years, why does a video game take six years to make?
Video games dont have DoD money
Yeah they do.
I don't think they even shit out a CoD a year anymore and some of what has come out has been disasters
There's no Germans to steal from this time around.
War is the greatest motivation for technological advancement
>hello slave, implement X, Y and Z within 3 months
>two years later, you've been forced to implement 10*X, 10*Y, 10*Z
>uh oh slave, haha sorry to let you know this, but we're scrapping X, Y and Z due to time constraints, haha, btw we're on over-overtime now, get started on making A, B and C from scratch
>phfew we barely made it with -7 months to spare, now get the frick out you're fired moron (not me though, despite my gross mismanagement im a very important member of the team haha :^)
They had brave lesbian black women to design nukes back then, whereas now we have racist straight white male game devs holding us back.
They should give it to one of their better developers they spent billions on, like... hmm... well... hmm....
Microsoft literally destroyed every studio they bought.
Lmfao. Xbox is singlehandedly killing gaming.
Hi fi Rush is good
Hifi rush was in development before Microsoft took over
Good job on H Fi Rush...here's Fallout
>Whips out phone
,,,,,Shinji....Shinji you there?!
>*Click*
It was just okay.
Heh, so they did chain Sawyer to the radiator after all.
Please make it happen so we can see how much incompetency beth has been putting out for the last 15 years
>before 2030
This is their big move to capitalize on the success of the show? Do people think the Fallout TV show will be on everyones' minds for 6 years? They should've done this as soon as they bought Bethesda and had Fallout 5 ready in time for season 2.
I think its utterly clear at this point that Phil is moronic, strategically. "Buy everything up" isn't even his move, its a Gates classic.
And now Microsoft barely cares about vidya anymore either, the Company is going to swing most of its capital at AI.
>I think its utterly clear at this point that Phil is moronic, strategically.
No one was going to cancel Starfield in 2021 after the acquisition when it was originally supposed to launch that year as well.
I mean bare minimum of 4 years to pump out a game from scratch. Fallout S3 will be airing. Better off visually remaking Fallout 3 ala Bluepoint.
i would celebrate if microsoft had skilled devs to make a new fallout.
they don't
They don't need to make an RPG to capitalize on the show tbh. They could give Fallout to id and make a shooter lol. It'd sell.
But they should get comfortable with the idea of giving IPs to other studios though. Take Diablo away from Blizzard at least.
A Fallout Doom clone could be cool, fast paced whole game in PA
They should make fallout brotherhood of steel 2
?si=h--RN1c-8IHLwD6k
Based Microsoft will un-retcon New Vegas being nuked and we'll get the NCR centric game we are all clamoring for!
They can do whatever the frick they want with it. Bethesda sold their asses out so nothing belongs to them anymore.
yes bethesda
rush the development even more than usual
surely this won't be an issue
that's why they're giving it to more competent devs
hahahahaha good one
Cool, machine games or id soft is probably going to make a new fallout.
Doesn't Microsoft own obsidian? They should just cancel outer world 2 and put them on fallout, it's obviously what they want anyway.
That's still 5-6 years from now, if that's not a testament to how fricked modern game development is, i don't know what is
This. We need to go back to the days when a game could have a fully realized sequel released in a year or two.
It's mostly a "Bethesda is fricking lazy and procrastinates" issue with them doing nothing for the first 7-8 years of a 10 year development cycle then being forced to crunch for 2 years after Zenimax puts it's boot down for the 10th time and we get a rushed patch job.
That's why we need more standalone expansion type of games, similar to New Vegas, Uncharted Lost Legacy.
Yakuza development times are straight out unthinkable in current times.
Imagine the buggerinos
A Fallout game without Bethesda is gonna be a game without soul and passion put into it. I'd rather wait 10 more years.
You mean like Starfield?
Starfield is game that's full of love and passion put into it, so yes?
Can you show me? On my planet (this one) Starfield's the opposite.
I'm not gonna bother, you're just one of those trannies that seethe at starfield's success.
Hope you go rope yourself.
Why are you so angry? Starfield is a game that got panned by most and can barely get 5k players on Steam...
>Starfield is a game that got panned by most
On Ganker? sure. Outside of Ganker? Lol no.
I've never even heard of most of them. Hell, some of them are literally Xbox fanboy sites. Somosxbox? Generacion Xbox? Really? 2 of the biggest sites like Gamespot and IGN had enough balls to give it a 7. A 7 is bad especially for a Bethesda game.
>SomosXbox
>Geracion Xbox
>IGN Brasil
>Tecmundo
>Xbox dynasty
>Mondo Xbox
>Muro Paketti
>Última Ficha
>IGN Espana
Yes, all those massive and important gaming reviewers.
>83
>reviewed extremely well in most places in the image you posted.
Inside a corporate shill fairyland isn't "outside Ganker", dumb shill.
Kek any of og fallouts have more soûls than bethesda
>Jez Cordon, the guy cited i nthe article, said the article is bullshit
Every time.
I imagine they want whoever to use the fallout 4 engine again to do a what new vegas did with fo3. And considering microwiener has obsidian they could just hand it off to them again.
>NV2 with modern Obsidian
Its going to be a bigger disaster than Outer Worlds.
Microsoft bought Inexile(made the last two wasteland games). Which are just de-zoomer'd Fallout games.
>Microsoft hires Obsidian to do it
>They get Avellone back on the team
>They ditch the terrible Creation Engine
>Fallout Midwest is announced, featuring drivable cars and armed vertibirds
>Mass Bethdrone suicide
Even Avellone thought the way the show destroyed the NCR was still moronic.
>They get Avellone back on the team
The guy tried to nuke the NCR and create the worst character in the game.
You need someone to tard-wrangle him.
Screenshot it
What will the currency in the next fallout game be, and why will it be sticks?
Location: China
Currency: Bottle Caps
Main faction: Brotherhood of Steel
Main enemy: Enclave
Raider factions: Raiders, Super Mutant Raiders, Ghoul Raiders
Main theme: War, war never changes
Protagonist: A former Vault resident
Main monsters: Deathclaws, radscorpions, bloat flies, molerats
I've cooked the perfect Fallout™ videogame. Thank me later.
>location isn't coastal United States
feeling ambitious today sir?
I think by China he just meant Florida
you forgot yao guais reskinned white and black to resemble pandas
>See? It's not like fallout 4/3! This one has pandas!
If it takes place in Alaska proper you could get a ton of Chinese stuff.
Fallout 5 should be in Canada or some random eastern European shithole
>Season 2 of the fallout show will just be DUST
D-Dust bros... Our mod is fricking cannon
few directors would be able to portray the crushing atmosphere of dusk
the mod author couldnt even do it again for fallout 4
>few directors would be able to portray the crushing atmosphere of dust
Why not?
>Dust storm everywhere
>Random enemies trying to kill you
>Dead bodys and destroyed shit because "MUH WORLD IS DOOMED"
It'd keep you on your toes because "Oh shit is this guy gonna live or die this episode?" It'd be a coin toss if this character you like will survive or not, or maybe suffer a terrible fate at the hands of the gas or other factions.
that would be interesting, might be too risky for general audience especially when the precedent was set from the first season, maybe a spin off?
>before 2030
wow
thanks
Good, maybe now we can get a proper multiplayer shooter out of it instead of 76
Why the frick weren't they working on this or elder scrolls instead of whatever the frick that startshit garbage was
I want to say good but microsoft are weak wristed homosexuals with zero spine to make anything good so it will suck as much as a bethesda game
They'll delay TES6: Hammerfell and shit out Fallout 5: San Francisco
>fallout but now it's unmoddable without the creation engine
yeah nah move on already
moron, have you seen what kind of mods people made with the with the fallout 2 engine? If there is a will there is a way.
Yeah, it only took 15 years for someone to make the first decent Fallout 2 TC (Resurrection)
they should give it to larian, we all know they're the only one who could pull it off
That doesn't necessarily mean Fallout 5.
That could mean Fallout: A Supermutant's Tale, a visual novel dating sim. Or Fallout: the Digital Trading Card game.
Microsoft paid a lot of money for Bethesda so of course they'll prostitute out the IPs Bethesda held. If anything it's surprising they haven't gone gung-ho dumping The Elder Scrolls-branded kusoge.
>they haven't gone gung-ho dumping The Elder Scrolls-branded kusoge.
Elder scrolls castles is starting to come out depending on region.
They're obviously gonna ask Josh at Obsidian to make it he's not doing anything major right now as far as I know.
>Josh, you dumb old bicycle cyclist that looks like Henry Rollins moronic, uncool brother. Remember Baldur's Gate 3 and how you and everyone shat their pants over it? Here's the Fallout license. Make Fallout 5 but Baldur's Gate 3.
Betheseda hasnt made a good game since morrowind. the sooner the company dies the better
>Betheseda hasnt made a good game
You could've stopped there. Morrowind was also shit and heckled by us real RPG gamer homiez. I know. I'm an old school RPG Codexer.
>Other than Bethesda
I hope that it's Sandlot
Like I said several months ago when Starfield flopped and Bethesda started "retiring" several high profile employees. I was laughed at but:
Microsoft is EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in Bethesda and are now looking into other studios they've acquired (Obsidian is number one obviously) to be their "RPG studio" going forward instead. Even if TES6 delivers, don't expect Elder Scrolls to be a Bethesda exclusive anymore.
(And Todd Howard probably won't be with the company for long. But now he's a TV show producer instead so don't feel bad.)
Here's an unrelated picture.
whats mca working on nowadays? anybody follow him on twitter?
He was already burning bridges before he got blacklisted so he's probably still persona non grata by most of the industry hacks, especially considering he's already mouthing off about the tv show. Owlcat might throw him some work at some point if he wants it
The initial accusations were dozens of women which later got reduced to a couple for whatever reason. My read is that a lot of people in the industry really hate him and are willing to shit on him regardless if it's deserved or not.
THANK YOU!
The next Fallout is a narrative fps. Id is already prototyping. Screencap this.
Todd Howard just shit his pants
>Get bought by Microsoft
>Lose your IP
What did they expect? You make a deal with the devil the devil always asks for a return.
Blizzard is next.
It's Todd's own fault for putting out the tv show
>visuals outdated
Why does the average person lack artistic taste? I’m a zoom zoom but it takes an absolute fricking dipshit moron to not recognise the artistic merit of the first two compared to like fo3 and nv (visually)
Really, wish there were more games in this style and not just indies replicating SNES games when it comes to pixel art.
It's not really pixel art, it's just 3D assets baked into sprites
>new good
>old bad
simple as kiddo
Playing 1 for the first time a couple of years ago I'd say yeah gameplay wise it's a bit dated (but not impenetrable unless you're a complete normalgay) but I loved the look and feel of Fallout 1 and 2.
that website is pure click bait and stolen leddit content
Except the gameplay is dated. Being isometric is alright though.
>reportedly
Ganker will believe anything
>it's shit like "Fallout" 4 but now you also can't mod it
nu-neo-modern-v loves oblivion with guns 2
Get 343 to do it!
>GaaS fallout xbox exclusive developed by 343
yeah im thinking based
>now with the actual pajeets from microshit
Cant wait for this disaster, and the shitton of shilling on Ganker.
>2030
jesus, so they really went all in on 76 and haven't even started on a new one? guess they routed all resources to starfield. what a shit show
Anon, they only started with TES6 after Starfield was finished. Fallout 5 was not planned until after TES6 was out of the Door.
Microsoft evidently had those plans changed now.
>even the creator says fallout 1 > 2
I knew it all this time.
>other than Bethesda
Woah, Fallout 5 might actually be good then.
I think it has more to do with the fact that TES6 is gonna take them at least 4 years to get out the gate and they want to milk Fallout while the frenzy lasts.
>take 15 years to make sequels because you are a snail
>shit out Fallout 76 to revolting backlash
>waste resources fixing it for better part of a decade
>Enter Xbox
>Arkane shits out Redfall to critical and commercial disaster
>spend better part of a decade making Starfield instead of Elder Scrolls or Fallout
>has lukewarm at best reception
>some Gankergay makes a show without you and normies love it and love Fallout because of it
>fallout sales through the roof on discounted old games
>someone else made fallout a success
>Phil Spencer sees Todd slowly pushing Bethesda's wheelchair towards Elder Scrolls while Todd says Fallout is another 12 years away
Xbox was moronicly patient with Bethesda.
Microsoft has only owned Bethesda for 3 years, they weren't patient at all.
Fallout was a very popular IP which is why Bethesshit brought it in the first place, moron
fallout 1 sales
>600k
fallout 2 sales
>123k
BETHESDA fallout 3 sales
>12.4 million
you are a moron, Bethesda bought it because they saw potential and it was sold because it didn't make the original creators enough money.
It sold close to 2 million copies by mid-February 1997.
fallout was never a big success before Bethesda, it was niche as frick.
This is ignoring what an inarguable flop fallout 2 was.
>it was sold because it didn't make the original creators enough money.
lol
lmao
>the moronic masses swallow it that means its good
read the post before replying you moron, never did i say Bethesda or even fallout was good. This discussion is about why Microsoft would be justified if they ignored fallout in favour of elder scrolls and why handing it off to some shitty studio like new obsidian would also be a stupid move.
fallout 3 sold a lot despite of bethesda, not because of bethesda.
>fallout 3 sold a lot despite of bethesda, not because of bethesda
Which is why Interplay went under rumao. The Fallout games sold automatically with no effort.
Fallout is also shit as a non-fallout game, because it's post-apocalyptic oblivion, complete with all its flaws.
>extremely dogshit graphics and animations for its time
>nonsensical quests
>nonsensical writing and lore
>nonsensical world-building
>extremely bad combat
>extremely bad designed and nonsensical environment and villages
the only """good""" thing about oblivion fallout is the open exploration. in the sense of: you can go somewhere and can be sure you will find something there. that's it. that's ALL there is no bethesda fallout games. every single other aspect is complete ass.
those games are a fricking joke, and I will repeat myself here: they sold despite of bethesda, not because of them.
>Fallout is also shit as a non-fallout game
*Fallout 3
There were no open world games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 at the time those games came out kiddo.
yes there were, even bigger and better ones.
>yes there were
It's illegal for you to post here while underage.
And there never will be, since the only "bethesda killer" game ever made was made with Bethesda's help and no one else is capable
Now you have games like Cyberpunk and Elden Ring that people claim are improvements over the Bethesda formula.
what a load of bullshit. cyberpunk tries to be a mix of deus ex and gta, while for ER, fromsoft simply took their own formula of being able to see POIs from far away and extended it to an entire game.
far cry and witcher 3 are far more related to skyrim, but also only very distant and even more theme park oriented.
all bethesda games, without exception, make the player feel like an intruding scavenger, because every moveable item can be picked up, and every moveable item in a city will get you marked as criminal an NPC sees you picking it up. and at the core, all bethesda games are about constantly picking up moveable items. the dialoge and writing? absolutely irrelevant. the combat? don't make me laugh. the RPG stats? they only help you pick up more items faster.
Elfen Ring copied Breath of the Wild which in turn was copying Ubisoft and Bethesda.
Cyberpunk is nothing like Deus Ex and they went fully for the Ubisoft meme of having tons of activities all over the map. That's also a thing that Todd pioneered.
>bad designed and nonsensical environment and villages
The level design in Bethesda games is good, it doesn't make much sense logically but most people don't care about that since it's a video game.
>The level design in Bethesda games is good
what the frick are you talking about
bethesda designs the worst villages and the worst dungeons in the entire industry. their environmental storytelling literally is
>200 years after the bombs fell, lonely people have set up shops across the wasteland in various ruins, all alone, complete with broken windows, the floor full of pre-war trash and a pre-war skeleton with rotten clothes just chilling in a booth next her, and for some reason raiders, who are literally everywhere haven't robbed and killed them yet
get the frick out
sorry, I didn't realize you were just pretending to be moronic.
>what the frick are you talking about
Gameplay. You don't play videogames as games so you cannot grasp this concept.
>Gameplay
what about the level design in fallout 3 makes the gameplay good, anon?
I haven't played Fallout 3. But Oblivion, Fallout 4 and Skyrim all had good level design that made exploring the world and the caves enjoyable. They also had a few larger dungeons that were very memorable like Blackreach.
>Oblivion, Fallout 4 and Skyrim all had good level design that made exploring the world and the caves enjoyable
>blackreach
Ah, you are a walking simulation enjoyer, sorry to have misinterpreted your opinion as having actual value. You don't give a frick about gameplay or level design, you only want to look at things and then go "oooh".
what is level design to you oh gamemaster?
Blackreach is kino.
Okay, I can understand shitting on almost everything in Skyrim but Blackreach is objectively well-designed.
>doesn't provide a single example
This underage troony is not even trying.
The world building you criticize can be said for 90% of video games and even then, Fallout 3’s criticisms have been exaggerated or fallacious if you remove fallout from the title
>why do everyone live in shacks 200 years later
Andale, Rockopolis, Tenpenny, Underworld, Point Lookout, the Pitt
>what do they eat
Trade caravans are an entire system, vendors carry mutated fruits and meats, there are hydroponic farms visible and implied
>why aren’t they visible
why weren’t farms visible in every video game town in existence to explain what they eat.
The guy who came up with the "What do they eat" shit quit making videos and probably trooned out or something.
>why do everyone live in shacks 200 years later
that was not was I was saying. bethesda fallout is known for having single persons live in the middle of the wasteland as stationary traders in completely trashed ruins. no clean up, no boarding up windows, nothing, they just standing in their own filth, surrounded by 200 year old corpses and trash, and tell your their heart-breaking story of how they run this story since a decade now.
everything about bethesda's writing and world-building is absolute batshit insane moronic.
>The combat and writing in the Bethesda games was pretty decent for their time
jesus fricking christ are you 12 and just make up shit as you go on? why lie like this?
I am 34 years old and I have played more thns 500 games according to Backloggd.
Fallout 3 gets a lot of shit for what it is as a Fallout game, but if it was called anything else it would have been held up as a great post-apocolypse game for the 7th gen.
>That one quest where it's either
>Help the generation ship a new warp drive to leave for a new planet
>Or make them effectively sell themselves into slavery
>Can't do anything else
You can also kill them all
Only the people on the ship though. Not the people on the planet for no real reason.
God gamebyro is a terrible engine. I don't care how much they try to upgrade it or change it's name it's fundamentally flawed.
and Bethesda refuses to change
its a perfectly serviceable engine. bethesda is just full of a bunch of moronic Black folk that thought making a space game with it was a good idea. its perfect for TES and FO but they were delusional to use it for starfield.
i can't imagine tes or fo without gamebryo. they should have made a new one similar to it but not shit oh what the frick am i saying it's bethesda
>why would they give a shit
Xbox bought Bethesda for Fallout and Elder Scrolls. Are you moronic?
bethesda is more than just todd, they bought arkane, tango gameworks, id software, machine games along with all their IP and a bunch of other random shit when they bought zenimax.
I stand by what I said.
what you said is moronic, you can stand in whatever moronic zone you wish.
You can umm ackshully all you want, but I'm right.
>With over 62 million copies sold as of June 2023, Skyrim is the seventh-best-selling video game of all time, and is considered one of seventh generation console gaming's most significant titles and one of the greatest video games ever made
yeah, Microsoft wanted Bethesda. They also wanted a bunch of hardcore gaming studios to pump out content for their gamepass service. saying they bought zenimax purely for fallout and elder scrolls is moronic, they needed more than 1 game every 6-7 years.
>they bought zenimax purely for fallout and elder scrolls
Correct.
I'd say good but Microsoft are trash as well and all the other Devs they own suck.
My first thought was "it can't get any worse".
But to be honest, I fully expect it to.
Leave Fallout 6 to me
This explains why every obsidian game looks fricking disgusting.
>I don't know even know what to say
Obsidiots...
Nothing wrong with what Matt said. Nothing wrong with Sawyer retweeting either.
Sawyer may be a shitlib but he didint let that effect his work too much. maybe that has changed in resent years.
whats hit thoughts on isreal?
He supports Palestine. He's just a good natured person.
This is fitting because it was only ever Bethesda's through business israelitery in the first place.
They'll just ape Bethesda fallouts and make it a shallow turd
Remember Starfield was meant to come out a whole year before it actually did.
Imagine the absolute state the game must have been in before Phil made them taken longer.
I wish it did so they would have started work on Elder Scrolls a year earlier.
Can't wait for them to retrofit the spaceship system in Starfield for an actual ship in Elder Scrolls 6 and you find procedurally generated islands in the ocean between loading screens.
Probably be in Hammerfell so there will be tons of noggers as well
>Yes Yes, well done Starfield, A wonderful space RPG. HOWEVER
they will force inxile to make fallout 1 and 2 remasters
I'd play an InXile FO game
I despise the art style shift they did in Fallout 4. In Fallout 3 looked cool at times but everything is all bright colours and looks cartoonish now.
F3 and NV are some of the ugliest games of their entire generation, you need to take off those piss tinted glasses
I'm talking about art direction, not graphically fidelity idiot.
I dont know why you assume I wasn't talking about both.
Sure bro, I forgot this is actually far better art direction then any previous Fallout game.
have a nice day dipshit.
Looks kino
Go play Fortnite if you want your bright heckin colours because duller colours scare you.
do you have any bloody idea how long we fought the brown and bloom shit?
Considering what we got now, it was a mistake.
And the brown at least usually wasn't on the characters like it is now.
and there it is you are racist so all your opinions are suspect from now on
oh no color the horror!!!!
>Nooooooooooo my post apocalypse looks dark and dour!
Go play Borderlands.
unironically yes, if I took an equivalent cherry picked screenshot of NV or fallout 3 most people would vomit.
Fallout 3 is in the running for ugliest game of all time, the sort of ugly that doesn't even have any charm. Just one big sea of grey plastic through a green tinged filter.
Nice
I like the way corroded copper looks
We already saw someone take fallout from Bethesda and do it way better with New Vegas.
GAMWES CANT BE SMALL ANYMORE IT CANT HAPPEN AND I WONT ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN
It really doesn't matter. I'll wager it isn't Obsidian though. They are having enough game production issues on their own. And thats a good thing because they haven't made a good game in well over a decade. Just give a studio a dev kit and source code to fallout 4. I look at games like New Vegas and ODST, and I don't understand why that style of game production hasn't been more of a thing in recent years.
Tyranny was great, but obviously unfinished.
God Tyranny makes me so mad because it was a neat setting and we'll never get a follow up.
More like, the fallout IP is a money maker and it takes 8 goddamn years to make a game, bethesda is a slop dev none the less.
give it to obsidian again for the lulz, it couldn't be worse than fo4 or ow1
michealsoft doesn't really have any other studios that could handle an rpg
>it couldn't be worse than fo4 or ow1
The only Obsidian game I've heard of being something people liked recently was Pentiment which was apparently Sawyer's small autismo project.
>people liked recently was Pentiment
that and people say the combat in grounded was pretty good which has me cautiously optimistic for their skyrim knock off. the magic in the trailer looks really cool too, better than skyrim
maybe something nice will happen. what a sad state of affairs
yeah
outsourcing it to pajeets and chinks
>2030
>starting to get up in age where I have to start considering I may be dead before a game comes out
best thing that could have happened.
Can't be worse than Bethesda.
Xbox are the good guys here, Starfield was a flop and they want a second chance to ruin something else.
The Fallout universe ended at the second battle for Hoover dam.
Uh acktually sweetie Vault Tec nuked them and Mr House is now an evil CEO man.
mr house was always an evil CEO man what the frick are you on about?
Not enough people talk about how mr house has an ego just as big if not bigger than ceasers, he's just got the smarts to (somewhat) back it up.
I mean he talks about sending people to the moon and getting colonies up there, he's clearly got a fricking complex but he is actually smart and can run a decent society that makes him loads of money and gets him a frick load of influence.
Ceaser on the other hand is literally just doing a step by step recreation of the roman empire, guy isn't even smart enough to use sticks as his currency.
Nope, he's neutral. He's got an ego and refuses to compromise but he's not an evil man.
I never played the Frontier, was it actually that bad?
Yes
Yes.
It's bad but I still keep it installed on my TTW and play it. It has America and some cool loot and decent dungeons.
America is one of the worst characters in that mod.
Hell the crusaders in general have the majority of the worst characters in that mod.
You're just wrong and we can all tell you're brown by the way you post. You're easily recognizable, stop being a sperg.
On release it was a completely shitshow.
They patched some of the completely derranged stuff out and now it's just kinda meh.
>no cars or bikes in any of the Bethesda games (because vehicles are not developed in their oblivion-clone template)
>everything looks small and medieval, small towns right next to Deathclaws (because that's how it is in their oblivion template)
>quest writer writes that ghouls are literally immortal, don't need food, water, oxygen, and can live forever, game director who got with making video game says: lmao imagine caring about video games
Extremely sane decision to take the IP out of the hands of these idiots.
if Microsoft was smart they would start hot swapping IP between their devs, they have basically all the most talented 1st person shooter devs in the industry but they are all stuck making IP they have grown tired and weary of.
>Microsoft getting some new studio to work on a beloved ip
what could go wrong
>Beloved
homie, fallout didn't have a decent game since New Vegas, its franchise was already tarnished, there's nothing for Microsoft to compromise.
Bethesda decides to make it
why would you even say that
Reminder that people think this is one of the most amazing games of all time because of their millennial nostalgia about being in a 3d rendered world for the first time; and as a consequence of that they swallowed 5 more titles that are literally just re-skins of the first game.
>implying this exact thing doesn't happen in 3 either
>steal someone's property
>get shot
The only people who don't agree with this sentiment are communists.
>play a round of darts
>get shot
>women immediately declares to you that she isn't gonna help you kill "those people"
Ah, America.
yes Im sure thats exactly whats happening dOPe

I used to say this unironically about King of the Hill in 2003
Does anyone know where to get The Frontier?
>Lost my hard drive with the original frontier download on it

>Eight million downloads
>0.1% of the human population have downloaded this mod.
Frontier is more canon then ant Bethshit stuff
>Blatantly ripping off nuWolfenstein, CoD and Metal Gear
Frick no.
And you idiots thought Microsoft buying Bethesda would be a good thing
Bad for bethesda = good for me
It is a good thing. If sonys broke ass bought them, they would have Bethesda try to run their shit on inferior hardware like the PS5 lmao
It wasn't their IP in the first place
as long as I get functioning ladders I don't care who makes it
Todd successfully raped the west coast. Taking it away will not change that.
i would rather die than play a top down fallout
fricking finally.
now they need to finish es6 so we can shame todd into early retirement.
peter molyneux is a stand up honest guy next to him.
I hate them both and I'm a big believer in lighting a fire with a full gas can.
Bethesda was never good so who cares
Bethesda was good so I care
You would have a point if Starfield wasn't dogshit after nearly 10 years of development
The Witcher 3 was better in every way that matters.
From the emergency meeting so Screen cap this
>Takes place in LA
>RPG
>No online at launch
>Basically the real Fallout 3
>Todd producing
>Rare, Treyarch, and Arkane Studios in the lead for the project
>shooting for November 13, 2026
They want this shit out for season 2 of the show
>>Rare, Treyarch, and Arkane Studios in the lead for the project
I am vomit.
>2 years of development
This is about to be shallow as frick and still be plagued with creation engine jank.
People might be morons about it but New Vegas is the closest thing we will ever get to Black Isle's Fallout 3.
>2026
Never ever, 2029 at the earliest.
>>Rare, Treyarch, and Arkane
Honestly Treyarch is the best pic there. Call of Duty games are still functional and all the Warzone assets are already made. The problem is getting them writers.
Good, maybe someone else can do it better, but it might just go down the path of halo or Gears of war
Yes anon they literally bought them a few years ago.
After Starfield... I really don't care.
after starfield they might have something to prove. I think their pride was hurt at the game awards.
>took from
They own it you moron.
>Fallout made in Unrealsloppa
How hard would you morons suck its dick?
>Unrealsloppa
you just know it's going to happen. every inhouse ms engine is going to shit (creation engine, idtech, blam) and its more productive to hire people who are already trained with the target engine
Pedocrats BTFO
Do you know what a surrogate means in this case? Now show how many conservative leaders in Christian churches are fricking children
Even better. Let's check how much rabbi's get with children.
Both are great to call out, but I have a feeling you're going to be angry when you see the results
>over 9000 Grand Old Pedos for every 1 Democrat
small dlc-sized games every 12-14 months please and thanks.
call it fallout adventures or some such. bethesda can keep the numbered sequels
they could easily tho.Re-use the assets ,try to find someone with a good story in head ,release the dlc of 10 hours of content for 10 dollars easy cash every 5/6 months.
The problem was that Fallout 76 was a disaster due to the online shit and Starfield was a mistake from the start of development.
Finally Todd Howard can't destroy Fallout any fricking further
BASED xbox stealing what Todd shit on for almost 20 years
Based Phil Spencer going to up the ante and make Fallout 5 the worst in the series
god damn it
just when you think bethesda is on the ropes after starfield, the idiots bring them back in for more moron shit
This is really bad for fallout, Todd didn't understand fallout and bastardized it. Whoever takes up the reigns will make a bastardized version of Todd's fallout rather than one of fallout itself.
