>According to a post on Chinese graphics card manufacturing news and rumors site, Board Channels (reported by VideoCardz), stock of the Nvidia AD-106 GPUs used to manufacture RTX 4060 TI graphics cards has dwindled to the point of only “a few dozen” packs of “about 50 pieces”. For large-scale manufacturers, only receiving a few hundred chips is going to significantly disrupt production.
>The report also confirms that this shortage affects Chinese card manufacturers such as Colorful, as well as Taiwanese brands. The latter aren’t named, but this could be any or all of Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and more.
>While this could seem alarming in terms of a potential drop in retail stock, the lead time from manufacturing to stock arriving for retail is large enough that, if this is only a temporary blip in production, it should be easily covered by later increases in production.

Who cares
Video games
>One of the most important things required to play video games is not video games related
Is the 4060TI really that popular?
I can believe it. xx60 cards are the affordable ones or used to be.
I think it's the cheapest GPU you can get which runs the desktop at 4k 120hz+.
>I think it's the cheapest GPU you can get which runs the desktop at 4k 120hz+
If you mean GTA III then yeah, maybe
I'm not talking about gaming. I mean in a production PC. It's the bottom tier for multi-monitor 120hz desktop use.
Like what the 1030GT used to be, that was the cheapest GPU which allowed 4k 60hz over HDMI so was used in all the HEDT PCs.
amd igpu can do that for example your ryzen 7800x3d.
To the contrary. It means that not even Nvidia bothers making it.
lol no it's fricking not
Anyone with half a brain would take 3060 ti instead
4060 TI is better in literally every single way except price byt there are barely any 3060 tis at msrp anyways
4060 TI loses to the 3060 ti in games where the bus width matters, but the 16gb version wins when you need more than 8 gb. It's not a straight upgrade.
What kind of conditions/games benefit from a higher bus width?
Games that are constantly shifting the contents of vram to cope with lower vram limits, like racing games or busy making the gpu do things besides rendering like texture compression or other stuff in graphics intesive emulators.
Name one (1) game where the 3060 ti 12gb beats the 4060 TI 16gb
>3060 Ti
>12 GB
Only 3080 Ti and 3060 has 12 GB vram
Keep in mind that the 4060 TI only comes out to being 3-5% better than the 3060 ti on average. The main advantage it has is store prices not being out of control as much during its release.
I have a 1060 6gb rn. 4060TI 16bg seems like the no brainer for an upgrade for me. Seems like the 4060ti hate is from people who upgrade more often and are pissed about the relatively small increase in performance it offer. Am I wrong?
I went from 1060 to 4060TI and my only regret is not having more good games that need the extra power. The only people buttmad about the 4060/4060Ti are the morons that sidegrade every generation.
Yeah I figured that was the case. If you’re not Linus fricking tech tips the 4060ti seems goated.
Will be kind of sad to end the 1060 era. Thing still holds up pretty damn well and I’m thinking about building a lower end PC for my gf with it.
No, Nvidia just doesn't care anymore so they manufacture a miniscule amount.
lots of chinese AI hackers are 'buying' the 16gb version for cheap
'buying' means stealing from the distribution center
No one in their right mind buys the worst deal of this gen anyway; that's why retailers are still fully stocked. Wouldn't make any difference
Buy a 7700xt if you want a poorgay card
>poorgay card
>600€
cryptohomosexualry has been a disaster for the human race
I wonder what people in 500 years will laugh at us for the most:
>Making literally everything out of plastic
>Cryptohomosexualry
>Overprocessed cancer food
lgbtp+ mental illness and culture war bullshit will definitely be among those
I mean yeah it's a given otherwise humanity ceased to exist by that point. I'm okay with either outcome.
fear of nuclear power and gmo food is gonna be far and away #1
Where to store the nuclear waste?
in our oceans and soil so we can eat it all the time
oh wait that's what coal does
uh maybe a salt mine or something, hey you remember when greenpeace successfully lobbied the carter administration to ban nuclear reprocessing specifically so there'd be a lot more nuclear waste being produced for them to whine about
don't breeder reactors specifically use nuclear waste as fuel
You can go twenty years before you need to refuel with an Ohio class submarines nuclear reactor.
are you regretting having become a submariner yet?
>implying much of humanity will still be left in 500 years
I think the only thing that could really kill off humanity as this point would be a natural disaster. Even in the event of a nuclear holocaust, there will still be pockets of random humans all over the planet. Worst case scenario, we nuke ourselves back to the bronze age with nothing but uncontacted tribes as the sole survivors.
I wish Nvidia made a 4060ti without the meme cores and sold it for around $300 so my poorgay ass can afford it.
Laughs in 4060. I'll enjoy re-selling you cucks my used 4060 for 80% the MSRP and getting a 5060ti because you refused to upgrade at a sensible time.
Get a 4060 whilst it's still affordable it won't be soon.
>people actually bought this card
>loses less than 5% performance in exchange for only 50% of the power used
yes, i don't see a problem here?
>4070ti
>4070
Literally 6-10 fps difference. What the shit is the point of upgrading.
>1080 results
it's a 1440P card, anon. Modern 2023 goytitles kill the 3060 at 1440
have a nice day
i NEED intel and amazon to break nvidia's monopoly on the AI market so they have to start selling cards to normal people again
current cost/performance winner for nvidia is a used 2080 ti i'm pretty sure
Is 2080ti stronger than 1080ti? I was under the impression it's only advantage was RT, which you cannot run anyway
bout 30% stronger and it can do some implementations of their fake frame shit
ebay prices look like $200 vs $300 so it's closer than i thought
insane how enduring the 1080 ti has been
I thought the 4060 was shit?
the 4060 is the 4050, the 4060 ti is the 4060
No. The 4060ti is the 4050ti. The 4070 is the 4060.
Has there been any reason to buy a new graphics card the last 3 years or so? Unless you're 5+ years behind I don't see a reason to keep upgrading. Nothing is releasing these days that warrants this.
The 4060ti is roughly PS5 equivalent or maybe just a little stronger, right? Makes sense that they’d be moving on from producing this turd.
>What is GPU binning
the absolute dogshit tier silicon thats a step from the trash bin is what ends up as 4060s. the good yields end up as 4080s and 4090s.
Yea no shit. They've scaled back production of all gaming chips significantly because now with the AI money they can move frick all units to raise prices.
