Red Prince is one of the best choices honestly, but pretty much everyone is solid.
I HECKING LOVE PLAYING AS A CHARACTER THAT ALREADY HAS A PREDETERMINED BACKGROUND AND PERSONALITY THAT I OBVIOUSLY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO RECREATE IN MY PLAYTHROUGH
playing a premade character is full moronation and you will realize how the choices you make don't match at all the ones that character would've made when you play again with him as a companion
Origin characters basically add to the playthrough, they don't constrict anything. The fact that you can only have a party of 4 and given the length of the game I would honestly recommend playing as an Origin character purely as a little bonus.
>How "locked in" to being a certain way are the origin characters?
All the dialogue choices are exactly the same, and a few where you might have other choices to pick based on the origin. You can also fully customise the character.

Sounds good, I'll give Red Prince a go then. I've been looking for something to play anyway.

Red Prince is great, you get to act like a pretentious snob treating everyone else like subhuman garbage that they are (one of the lines of dialogue with a human is "Challenge this disgusting half-breed to a duel") and it's even more justified once you do his quest and learn more about him and the whole Lizard thing

Hm, kinda conflicted between playing as smug lizard supremacist butthole or softie gay not fit for the throne. We'll see.

Yeah you can do either or, the game allows it. The really great thing about Red Prince is that you can sell one of your own party members into slavery to your enemy

honestly think lizard is their best character in this and dragon commander, mostly because of the voice actor. Also like sebille's va but in dos2 her character is an unhinged psycho, big waste, she was best as an elf in dragon commander.
Play as your own character, don't pick a premade one. Those few extra quest don't matter at all
Wait, so you play Divinity with premade fricking characters? What's the fricking point then? I thought it was a CRPG, with player choice and roleplay, not fricking Final Fantasy.
>I thought it was a CRPG, with player choice and roleplay, not fricking Final Fantasy.
Honestly there are obvious branches from what I've seen so far (First Act, but feel like I'm near the end of Act 1) and I don't mind FF like progression if it means I can cool powers. DOS2 is more for the combat.
That said, play custom PC. Origins are meh.
Don't pick an origin, at least not if you want to hear them talk. Made that mistake with Sebille, and quickly realized I'd rather just have her as a companion.
you will be massively disappointed playing bg3 after. They've managed to frick up the perfected combat model in favor of the "true" dnd mechanics like limited spells per day that you have to recharge through camping and shitty useless skills that might do something but most likely wont. Dos2 combat is superior in every way, its fluent its logical it has much more variety and opportunities, you can definitely abuse it if you are inventive enough which i very much enjoy.
There are not cute female lizard origin chatacters so you're going to have to play a custom one.
I still wonder if they ever planned to add any more origin characters, but i suppose even Fane was added fairly late.
I had 2 magic 2 physical and easily smashed the game on tactician multiple times across different patches.
It's literally a skill issue. This game is not hard. It's really fricking easy. If you bother to prep you will win easily every time. Anyone who says this game is hard has failed the IQ test. There are a billion consumables, you can set up the terrain, they even let you fricking prebuff, and I haven't even gone into the exploits.
We used to have places for morons like you to go and get frickin lobotomized to spare the rest of us from your unimaginably wretched weapons grade autism.
I liked Ifan the most, he's the masculine stern bad ass outlaw turned good. Beast gets overlooked cuz it's so easy to miss him and he's the most boring.
I'd rather not, not until they stop genociding white people
Of those two I'd go with the lizard guy, The Red Prince.

Red Prince or Fane.
Don't listen to this c**t.

This. Playing as a origin character is essentially cucking your R out of RPG.
Thinking about playing as Red Prince, but how constricting is it?
Origin characters basically add to the playthrough, they don't constrict anything. The fact that you can only have a party of 4 and given the length of the game I would honestly recommend playing as an Origin character purely as a little bonus.
I mean constricting as in how much at affects shaping him as your own character. How "locked in" to being a certain way are the origin characters?
No I have the big gay and I want to play as a dude

Choose lohse
That's a really fricking stupid idea.

biggest moron ive ever seen in my entire life
you should have a nice day legit

I never want to see the physical/magic armor system again. It's moronic.
Combat reworked system makes it a lot better
what does it do?
Lohse is mentally ill and got raped by a demon doctor don't go w her
yea wouldnt want to make your own character in a rpg would you

Am I really supposed to make all 4 party members focus on magic or physical damage? That seems so moronic.
I did 3 flavors of physical and one supp mage with some summons
I had 2 magic 2 physical and easily smashed the game on tactician multiple times across different patches.

>4 fire/earth Black folk
You have won the game
We used to have places for morons like you to go and get frickin lobotomized to spare the rest of us from your unimaginably wretched weapons grade autism.
Wait, morons actually play as the origin characters? LMAO, guess we know BG3's audience.
fane > red prince > lohse > sebilla > ifan > beast
Why are Ifan and (specially) Beast always ranked so low? Are they really that boring?
I liked Ifan the most, he's the masculine stern bad ass outlaw turned good. Beast gets overlooked cuz it's so easy to miss him and he's the most boring.
Beast has zero content.
Ifan is a whiny b***h companion, but REALLY cool when you play as him. Like Red Prince without the comedy
