>Zoomers don't even know what Killzone is
Cool story
Nah, too young and just not interested in games like K2, K3 and esp for the original when COD was at its peak. It was millennials that played it
Zoomer here. I like Killzone now but I was still playing Mario games when it was still getting new games (didn’t help that I was sheltered from M-rated games until I was in my teens)
you have no idea what a zoomer actually is
A person born in 00s
Enlighten me what zoomer means. I want to laugh
yeah, zoomers were not old enough to play anything 7th gen enough to form an opinion or a memory of it moron
killzone is before their time

Shut the frick up, Halogay. Go play your Baby’s First FPS.
>ZOOMER ZOOMER ZOOMER
let me guess millenicuck, you're 30+ and hate your life
There is nothing more bitter than a 30+ year old with no family and no dream sustaining them.
Killzone was my favorite PS2 game and I'm tired of pretending it wasn't.
I hate the direction the series took after the first one. Call of Duty fricking ruined shooters far more than Halo ever did.
What actually went wrong?
Interplanetary warfare that was portrayed in a way that was never portrayed anywhere else and so well done. Brian Cox voicing Visali was just the cherry on top of the Hitler expy of the Helghast. We got robbed out of a good finale with 2 rushed last games.
>Zeon are designed to be "space nazis but with nuance" and are
>actual crimes are far worse than most space nazis and their rationalizations are extremely weak
>Helghast are the most explicit "space nazis" in all fiction with the most plainly fascistic and evil aesthetics
>actual crimes are relatively minor compared to most space nazis and their backstory justifies their state more than any other
Was this a deliberate artistic choice?
Why the frick would a new franchise call their villains Zeon when Gundam has been doing it since the 70s???
>both sides are roughly on par with each other
Honestly I wish they stuck with this, because it felt like depending on the game it was one side or the other that had the advantage. In the original Killzone, the Helghast invaded all of Vekta and the ISA were constantly on the run, then in Killzone 2+3 it felt like the Helghast were really underpowered and nerfed. It wasn't an easy win for the ISA in the sequels, but it always seemed like they had the superior firepower and numbers despite being on the homeworld of their enemy,
The entire K2+K3 war lasting just over a year is ridiculous to me, it would have slogged on for a decade

Its more or less implied that the Helghast 3rd army in the first game was their only real standing force to begin with. They were essentially contending with a light planetary defense force minimally equipped since their actual strategy relied on the orbital defense platforms. The reason why they got through so fast was because they had an inside man on said platforms to shut them off and barricade any relief force from interfering with the ground invasion. After the first extra solar war everyone was still rebuilding assuming that the Helghast would've simply died on their new world not having the ability to project a force strong enough to invade in the first place. Everything after was just them on a fighting retreat as the ISA pivoted public opinion of the attack towards a full scale invasion against the supposed aggressor. The first extra solar war was where the ISA was initially caught off guard since their efforts were focused at home during that time. Techwise the Helghast corporation was originally on the forefront of technology prior to their colonization of Vekta and Helghan controlling these worlds gave them a distinct advantage. If given time to develop they would've eventually superseded the ISA which is what caused the war to blow out in the first place.
MY PEOPLE.....
K1+K2 intros are top tier
?t=143
it is a pity that 3 is not of the same depth and shadowfall the only thing worth mentioning is the last 10 seconds of the trailer
>Killzone takes place between the Sol and Alpha Centauri star systems
>Its implied that the Earth government is engaging in colonial exploitation because the homeworld has drained itself fully of usable resources and can only rely on its aging and over-bloated military to maintain its power
>there hasn't been enough advancements in technology to jump further than these two systems without having to make use of generational ark ships
>outside of Helghan, Vekta, Earth and a very small planet more akin to a private resort they haven't found anything else that is sustainable for human life
>it was only a matter of time before something catastrophic happened because everything was being accelerated by desperation and the desire for independence
Its a shame that they killed off the series the way they did. They had an interesting premise for what happens when a world attains self sufficiency and its own series of events coupled with the desire to stand alone. While also dealing with the very real threat of total extinction and abandonment of the original homeworld because their histories have diverged so much over the span of a few centuries while being several light years apart. Pic relate dealt with this very subject and the only fate for the Earth in that regard was to rely on subversion since the world itself had already been glassed to hell and back. Seeing what they had attempted with Shadowfall its clear that the ISA was already employing similar methods of control alongside its front facing military presence.
the setting of these games is always good, but all of them have terrible gameplay, it's so slow and consolized.
>Evil guys are le white space nazis
>good guys are some diversity homosexuals with some moronic acronym slop name USNCMACwhatever
The word diversity really scares you people doesn't it?
the helghast did nothing wrong
Funny how you say despite the fact the Helghast are unironically, unequivocally and unmistakably the good guys by every conceivably metric.
No they're not the good guys whatsoever, they subjugate their own people
>t. didn't play the game
I don't think you did
>be poor
>get killzone for Christmas
>mom said she thought I'd like it since they look like nazis and I always watch history channel
>spend hours playing against bots
I loved killzone 2. Had the atmosphere and design and I was actually impressed how good it looked and they kept the weighted feel. Never got to play the online. I dont remember if 3 had the bots option I seem to remember they removed it which was very homosexual and possibly gay.
>game starts with a prisoner exchange gone wrong
Are these shill threads because we're getting PS5 ports or an autist spamming?
I thought he really was interested in this type of fiction. But you are probably right, it's probably just a shill. Which makes me sad.
Have you ever heard about Battletech? Maybe one of those Mechwarrior games? There is a lot of lore, a lot of games. It's time for you to begin your journey. But before you start remember this. All clanners are bat shit insane. Good luck.
>zoomers were born in 2005 and played Killzone straight out of the womb
Where is this shit(ting street) coming from?
Anyway, killzone 2 rocks and I just wish I could get used to the control scheme easier. Pre-FPS control convergence games always feel strange to play for a second.
I just want to play as helghast damn it
