All the ones I went to were lanklets.

        saged it too

i had one in my garage when i was like 8. Mostly it was my family, my father had access to a lot of computers and we had a large garage that could hold 2 cars comfortably. Lined the walls with PCs, all playing on Counter-Strike's big-pond servers. Screen cheating was king, i was accused of hacking because i'd watch someone rotate from mid to A long on my brother's screen, while im camping A site with an awp, and I'd just... click on them.

depends on the era. it was either lanklets or chubby nerds - women dont play video games -
20 autists gaming WoW / WC3 / CS / Halo over LAN was possibly the best way you could ever spend your time.
zoomers will never know or experience this feel. Shame. I wish I could go back.

fat people didnt exist back then

the frick are you talking about, all the nerds were hungry skeletons back then, the only fat ones were the occasional landwhales, usually the sisters of someone

Jokes aside. social Gamers were majority lankies
we had 1 actual fat dude in our group that actually joined lan parties.

I know fat gamers, but they don't go to lan parties since that requires them to move from their chair

I went to more than one LAN where women attended. Needless to say they ruined the entire vibe, made everyone uncomfortable and we were all very glad when they left.

You've never been to a LAN.

Women might come by to see what's up. Especially since at least a few guys would be real life rulors. Never saw one actually participate in the LAN or stay there for the duration.

I`ve seen girl gamers in LAN clubs. As expected, they were prostitutes leeching for free time.

we rented an empty warehouse for 25€ per night for 3 days in south east saxony and played with 50 computers and only 3 electrical outlets.

80% of the time was used to talk, "setup" the game and network and problem fixing and handing out games and Gina Wild Jetzt Wirds Schmutzig CDs in pic related cases

We used to play games of Stronghold all the time because GameSpy was utterly fricked and it was the only good way to get good multiplayer matches going. Our rooms were better lit than this though, we used to put these on the lampshade so the light wouldn't reflect as much on our screens.

Lan parties and computer clubs were the best. Appeal of multiplayer competitive games faded when the era was over. Nothing like beaing team thats also in same club/room in CS or UT and then going outside to fight them irl.

Pretty much yeah. Everytime a blizzard would get announced everyone would just go to our friends house with the strongest internet and set up there.
No one planning everyone just operated on a set of unspoken rules, the geeks would arrive first and set up everything up together with the host, everyone else was relegated to snack and drink duty. I pity zoomers who will never experience this.

I've been to hundreds of LANs growing up in Sweden, it was a blessed time. Almost nobody were overweight back then, but chicks poking their heads in was pretty rare. It got more common as we got older and then the era ended.
They were more common at larger LANs ie 30 spots or more.
Skulle aldrig orka med det igen, är snart 40 lol

Videogames being a social recluse nerd thing was an American concept yeah, we'd play football in the afternoon and then do a LAN party in the evening.
        >chicks poking their heads in was pretty rare
Depends, most were girlfriends of someone attending, but there were a few. If they were actually there for the games or to lust over someone else at the party, that's another matter.
        >är snart 40 lol
        Same, pic related.

The best places had access to saunas and lakes to swim in. We used to play street hockey and go for snack runs while discussing resent mods and patches. It was cool since almost every motherfricker was into it.

LAN parties were barely any fat fricks, and a few guys had their girlfriends come(without PCs) and they could be annoying as frick as they got attention starved.

LAN parties were the best time of my life. Unironically better than sex. There was no concern in the world but having a good time with your bros on your favorite vidya. Constant shit talking, jokes and pranks. Maybe a little weed to get things weird

Yes and sometimes you had mega lan parties which you had to buy tickets for.
300 people in a warehouse for 3 days. Entire place smelled like weed, at random intervals people would yell out "prostituteS", even in the middle of the night, and pass out on the floor. High quality porn would be shared over the shared file network along with movies, shows, games. Tournaments for popular multiplayer games would take place as well.

      It was an incredible time.

I just realized that LAN parties in Nordic countries versus everywhere else is completely different.
In nordic countries LAN parties were a normie gathering because what else were kids supposed to be doing during the winter season.
LAN parties in Asia and the US for example is a gathering of people at the bottom of the social hierarchy.

my friend's dad was a computer geek and made PCs for all his kids using spare parts from his job so all of them had their own PC in their room in like 2002-2004 era

we'd do lan parties for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and DOOM and Duke Nukem(I think) other games so it was a household LAN party

Ones I went to usually had the lights on, 0 - 1 females who would play but leave before anyone else, and a lot of soda.
