i feel like these games mostly had a normalgay audience, the kind of people who don't commision blender porn
It's because Mirrors Edge came out almost a decade before SFM/blender porn took off and by that point it was a forgotten franchise and nobody cared about Mirrors Edge 2
indeed. Catalyst sucked, but I hope we get something else eventually (dosen't even have to be another videogame, I wouldn't mind an animated series or shorts)
Catalyst was literally one of the best games of the decade. You are a tasteless plebeian.
Catalyst did the right thing in improving the storytelling and having more characters in it, the more enclosed spaces similar to the first games' levels were well sculpted and good, sadly many aspects of the game gave vocal but less intelligent fans what they asked for which did not tranlate well into making it a good game.
NTA, but this is LITERALLY a perfect video on it. If you're not brainrotted and care to entertain things that could disagree with you:

What does he say that hasn't already been said in this thread? Summarize his points if you want me to watch him. Randomly posting a 1 hour video without more comments is bad culture.
the game has
2/10 combat (i like running through enemies, but having to actually sit and fight them isn't ever fun)
0/10 open world design (near impossible to traverse without the new, intrusive Runner Vision implementation)
4/10 level design (enemy rooms can eat my balls)
0/10 finale (lol just spiderman up to the top of the Shard, get locked in a shitty enemy room, and watch Faith not beat the person who was built up as the final boss)
I like Catalyst, but I acknowledge that it failed at some of the most crucial aspects

Combat was almost all completely avoidable. There was like 2-3 combat requirements, and they still involved more running around and jumping than actual combat.
Sorry that you are a room temp iq, that needed runner vision. I shut that shit off, and still managed just fine.
The open world level design was great. Each area felt distinct and you knew exactly what kind of people lived where.
The story was shit, and I never cared about it. That dude getting kidnapped was great. Icarus was right. I don't know why the devs thought making us a terrorist supporter was a good idea. Well, I didn't, until just recently. Turns out the devs were ahead of the curve on that one. Faith saying that it was fun, sounds like something that the leftists would be saying today.
Catalyst was an improvement on everything that wasn't story related, as I did enjoy the first game's story more. I very rarely used the fast travel, because I enjoyed the gameplay. And the open world gave it the feel that the first game completely lacked, because it was level based.

Thats a moronic ass take, visually and story wise catalyst was a massive downgrade, all these mfs had to do was make ME1 open world that's it, and yet they fricked it up

Visually no. It had different visuals. ME1 was super basic, while Catalyst was very varied. I already agreed about the story of Catalyst being worse, so I don't know what you're on about there.
Making ME1 open world would have looked awful. Everything in ME1 was made to look plain as frick, on purpose. Catalyst gave areas actual believable personality. The moment I was in the rich area, I didn't need to be told. I knew. When I was with the resistance, I knew. The visuals were top tier.
And you're fricking moronic for not actually saying anything beyond. "no bad. not me1 open world."
Catalyst was pretty good, I didn't like the open world overall but it was a cool change at the time. But if they do another one, I want it to be linear like the first.
We need parkour for the inevitable corrupt police state of the near future that will control everything
The only message Mirrors Edge needs is 'running and jumping in video games is fun here's some nice electronic music to go along with it'. Everything beyond that is superfluous which is why it should have been an open world from the start but this is EA so it had to have a linear cinematic game design or else the moronic Journos wouldn't know what to do or write about.
>EA so it had to have a linear cinematic game design or else the moronic Journos wouldn't know what to do or write about.
What the frick are you talking about? Are you moronic? The second game is literally open world. You fundementally do not understand games like this if you think "open world" would make them good moron. Try making an actual argument that isn't "Uh linear bad! and uh! EA bad!"
Fricking stupid worthless board full of constant morons

I generally don't like open world games but it fit Mirrors Edge Catalyst perfectly. Running is about being extremely aware of and remembering your environment. Cannot do that if the game is not open world.
Yeah but it was painful because there was so much wasted potential there. The original Mirrors Edge should have been an open world experience with little cinematic storytelling.
They tried to do that with the Sequel but the sequel ended up being poorer a game in every other way so it didn't matter at that point.
I love the original Mirrors Edge but there is no replayability and its short and easy as hell.
Yeah, but just turn vsync on(I can't remember if it's in the game options, or if you have to force it through your graphics card's sotware). Cap framerate to 120 and enjoy 2008 kino.
I just learned EA was going to delist Mirror's Edge just last year and successfully delisted old Battlefield games. What in the world is wrong with EA...
>press forward >vault over railing and jump off of building to commit suicide
Revolutionary gameplay, truly. Every game should have adopted fluid controls such as this.
>But I gotta cooooom everything is about me cooooooming sexo sexo sexo seeeeex everything has to pander to me in a sexual manner, btw I am totally sane and rational because.... uh evolution uuuuuh sex sells uuuuuh...
No, it was worse than Portal on every way. The gimmick was repetitive, annoying and it didn't work the way they thought it would because there was NO risk to falling.
There were games that did height risk better. I remember thinking ReCore was better at it, for example.
Faith is a miracle of the universe and the perfect wife.
How come she barely has any decent porn, youd think sfm and blender gays would use her all the time
i feel like these games mostly had a normalgay audience, the kind of people who don't commision blender porn

Why did they make her look like bogged Olivia funny in the sequel.

>something else
a Mirrror's Edge RTX remaster was in the NVIDIA leak from 3 years ago, hopefully that sees the light of day
get the studio that did the Carmen Sandiego reboot to do it and my ass is seated
Catalyst was good. Final mission was pure kino. I still remeber it years later.
Frickoff subhuman.
Catalyst was literally one of the best games of the decade. You are a tasteless plebeian.
have a nice day.

Like what?
The game has
10/10 vibes
10/10 visuals
10/10 music
10/10 fun
What more do you want?

i accept your concession
This
Catalyst kino
Last good game EA published
>2015 was NINE years ago
Catalyst was pretty good, I didn't like the open world overall but it was a cool change at the time. But if they do another one, I want it to be linear like the first.
>Catalyst sucked
Wrong
Everyone agrees the first game was good
Typical EA shit ruined the sequel
What was the message though?
You literally can't trust anyone?
if someone paints the buildings white, sell crack
>What was the message
that asian women have sideways veganas and love to run
Do parkour
You either fall off a building or live long enough to save your corrupt pig sister
We need parkour for the inevitable corrupt police state of the near future that will control everything

EA is bad corpo shill
Oh absolutely, it's a masterpiece.
This man is a nonfunctional moron
These people at least have some sense.
I generally don't like open world games but it fit Mirrors Edge Catalyst perfectly. Running is about being extremely aware of and remembering your environment. Cannot do that if the game is not open world.
>Running is about being extremely aware of and remembering your environment. Cannot do that if the game is not open world.
Yes you can.
Same routes need to be available multiple times spread out across time, which necessitates open world.
That Faith is cute?
i loved the first game a lot.
Second want was shit. It felt rushed for easy cash grab with no love or soul in it.
Yeah but it was painful because there was so much wasted potential there. The original Mirrors Edge should have been an open world experience with little cinematic storytelling.
They tried to do that with the Sequel but the sequel ended up being poorer a game in every other way so it didn't matter at that point.

maybe I'll finally play it. idk the last time I tried I got headaches
The graphics are so good and it runs so well on modern hardware.
>it runs so well on modern hardware.
the screen tearing is god awful though
Yeah, but just turn vsync on(I can't remember if it's in the game options, or if you have to force it through your graphics card's sotware). Cap framerate to 120 and enjoy 2008 kino.
there's a vsync option in the game but it doesn't work, there's some other shit you had to do in order to get it functional
You might need to make your monitor's refresh rate the same as your framerate cap. 60hz to 60fps, etcetera. Some older games are weird.
I love the city from the first game, but the city in the second is absolutely hideous. The only good thing about Catalyst is the soundtrack.
I really liked the 2D flash animations.
Isn't that a ugly woke protag
Not in the original game. They turned her into a half black half asian mutt in Catalyst.
Akshually even back in the day chuds made dolled up "there, I fixed her" posts about her.
I just learned EA was going to delist Mirror's Edge just last year and successfully delisted old Battlefield games. What in the world is wrong with EA...
Mirror's edge wasn't going to be delisted, there was an error in some announcement.
But they still delisted the old battlefield titles for goodness sake. Now you're forced me to steal the games since you aren't offering it anymore!
>bad company is gone forever
say it ain't so
Thank goodness you can still pirate it.
But why? It's already made, keep selling it, it's free money!
>press forward
>vault over railing and jump off of building to commit suicide
Revolutionary gameplay, truly. Every game should have adopted fluid controls such as this.
the controls were too complicated and confusing
luckily they had Anita to reel them in and fix it in the 2nd one
Except it wasn't and you're moronic
>Except it wasn't
why wasn't it?
So you admit to being moronic. Interesting.
>make game about female runner
>can't see ass because 1st person
why
>But I gotta cooooom everything is about me cooooooming sexo sexo sexo seeeeex everything has to pander to me in a sexual manner, btw I am totally sane and rational because.... uh evolution uuuuuh sex sells uuuuuh...
>have an older asian friend that with the same type of long angular asian face as faith
I want to frick her so bad bros
I played it the beginning of this year and still listen to Still Alive on the regular

This game is more dystopian than people give it credit.
