    name a game with good side quests that are not mechanically fetch quests.
    fallout new vegas is routinely fellated on this board but every single quest in that game is still 'talk to someone, defeat these monsters, find this item'. always. what matters for a side quest is the dressing around it. you're always getting the same kind of food.
    the dressing in xvi may be lacking. it's just more context to a world that you probably already could've guessed.
