But neither of these are true. What content is locked behind a paywall? You can do everything. And the only thing you need to "grind" is for gems, to get the non free characters. Which again, you don't need those characters to do the games content.

So you don't have to buy anything. Like you just said, often after buying them, they aren't even that good. And you can still beat the games content just refining the existing artifacts into upgraded versions, provided you don't frick it up. I was able to complete all the content this way. And didn't bother logging in daily. Just played up until the content was done, then waited for the next region to be released.

Liyue prevents you from being able to enjoy the exploration aspect of Genshin Impact. You have traveller who is the only Anemo character, and the only character that can press down multiple switches in their Geo form. Unless you like wasting your real life time switching back and forth, you need to roll for an extra Anemo character, or another character that can press multiple switches like Zhongli. And this also brings us to the cooldown for skills; if you want to solve Anemo puzzles where you need to use Anemo multiple times, you're going to be wasting your life if you don't have Venti or Sucrose.
Mihoyo purposefully designed their game this way. It's miserable to be F2P unless you're lucky and get the right characters early.
The artifact system is an endgame grind for a game that has no endgame. The hardest content in genshin is:
1. floor 12 of the abyss
2. limited time combat events
Fully clearing floor 12 of the abyss rewards you with 150 gems every 2 weeks. 150 gems is not even enough for 1 pull in the gacha system.
The rewards for clearing the hardest difficulty of limited time combat events is always garbage. Pic related is from the last combat event. The 4 ores you get for completing the hardest difficulty give weapon xp which can be farmed for free.
People overestimate how lucky you have to be with artifacts to reach the threshold that allows you to fully clear the hardest content in the game and the rewards you get for doing so are minimal. Refreshing resin for money is the last thing people spend money on, if you wanted to complain about the spending money for power aspect of the game then you should've pointed out how some characters are incomplete without multiple copies of said character.
It doesn't. That's optional content and as he said, it's not even worth doing because the rewards are shit. You can play through the story, explore the world, and level up your characters without spending anything. And even the grind for the artifacts is mostly for min-maxing purposes. You can slap together a working set for all of your characters even if it doesn't have the crit bonuses that everyone wants.
I haven't played Inazuma. But for the first three areas, there was like 8 free characters. And I got another 5-6 just by using the free rolls I got through playing. So you'll likely have 12-15 characters for free.
Like 6, I think, that you get from advancing the story and doing quests. And then there's Noelle, who's a guaranteed pull from the beginner's gacha, so even though you need to spend some of your gems on her everyone has her. You're certain to get more characters eventually, though. You do get free gems to do pulls.
Each patch also includes an event that rewards you with a free character or weapon. A couple times you got to pick which character you want like in pic related.

The free xiangling for doing early abyss is permanent so everyone gets the best pyro DPS off the rip. She's super f2p friendly too, early game crescent pike to take advantage of its passive with her multi hit normal attacks and then the catch for busted pyronado.

Genshin is one of the few games of its type you don't need to spend a single cent on. It's funny. It's almost like the devs planned it this way. They knew enough whales would buy in to get their favorite character that they could use that to make a $200 million game that 99% of players wouldn't need to pay for. And they still ended up making billions, even when you don't need to spend anything. The 1% of whales are wasting their money so the rest of us get a free AAA JRPG.
imma admit, yes, genshin impact actually have a solid gameplay for a mobile game, but imagine xenoblade 4 ,botw 2 or mario odyssey 2 having the same optional gacha, energy system and shit endgame

The game would be better if it focused more on free exploration and indirect worldbuilding/story delivery, rather than linear cutscenes. And of course, artifacts and the world level suck.
But beyond these issues, the game is better than BotW and Xeno in many ways.
That's only true for ones that are fully automated. And without the gacha monetisation system, those sorts of games would be the same sort of category as Cookie Clicker or Loop Hero.
You can play all of Genshin Impact with just the free characters the story gives you. Pick a better example. Like frontline or something.
