0.6% is actually about what fgo used to have. Technically you had a 1% chance but if I remember right there was a 40% chance to get a non-rate up which was basically as bad as not getting anything because almost all the non limiteds were garbage.

People who don't pay don't keep playing that shit in the long term typically, because those games become antagonistic towards your progression if you don't pay up.

You might have a severe mental moronation if you needed gachas to prove this for you.

Genshin has a 1.6 rate if you take its pitty system into account. Its far from the worst.

What's grasscutter up to anyhow? Last update was in November

This is dishonest. You need 7 copies of the character to fully unlock it. So 1.6% TO GET 1/7th of a character more like.

I don't know what game purple girl is from, but you get characters far more easily in Genshin than FGO. Both of them are below the market standard too.

The gacha industry is by far and away the one most poorly understood, but most heavily memed on around Ganker.

It's memed for a reason. You are basically gambling but getting nothing worth of value back even if you win

See, this is exactly what I mean. I mean gacha IS inherently a predatory model but being so wildly wrong is exactly how you make yourself look stupider than gachagays.

There're a million actual problems common to gacha by neither of these things are actually common practices.

For over half a decade, the popular gacha models have mostly removed gambling. Most everything releases with a ton of free currency and pity mechanics now, FGO is the exception because Sony is giga cancerous and it's grandfathered in but every other popular game basically operates on the same "You can get anything you want for free as long as you keep playing" design.

This isn't because they're somehow decent people, it's because it makes more money this way. If you israelite your players too hard, they go to different games, and a large amount of gacha players play for community so they need a lot of free to play players around to inflate their titles. Instead they sell optional subscriptions, sometimes season passes the same way the AAA market does, and basically try to brain wash players into staying with dailies and incentives. Instead of money, most progression is focused on hard grinds you can't skip with cash and time gates.

The end goal is largely to make a minority players loyal enough that they start dumping money on things that're worthless even in the context of the game, status symbols over the F2P players, cosmetic only costumes and merchandising like how a bunch of these gachas have annual conventions or sell figurines, because they're now invested in the community state.

It's absolutely predatory, but it's wildly different from 2005 idea people have of mobile games. FGO and maybe Dokkan Battle are the only games left on the market that resemble the standard image at all, and both are grandfathered in with branding behind them.

You are literally describing gambling anon. The major casinos give people free rolls and what not to try get people hooked. Getting people hooked is the most important part of successful gambling scheme.

                Anonymous

It's not gambling because there's no real element of chance. Games are just straight up letting people get stuff right out, either as a freebie after a certain number of rolls they'll certainly have, or with mechanics that outright eliminate rolls in favour of letting you grind for new characters.

Tons of gacha games are flooded with players that've run out of things to roll on and just sit on a huge stack of free currency they dip into once in a blue moon when they see something they want. The old casino model was retired because it just straight up wasn't working, most of those games ended service.

                Anonymous

They don't. What you get for free is nerffed version of the character. To actual power them up, you either have to grind tasklists for amount of time that only neets with no life are willing to do, or automate that shit with software like any smart person would do (but then again why would you play the game anymore at this point), all these tactics are made so that you buckle up the cash to buy the power up items or whatever you need, or roll for more.

Everything you describe are common tactics used in net casinos as well (expect you can actually win some money back rarely).

The gacha games that give away a lot of free currency usually either require you to get multiple of the character or equipment for the character. It's never that simple. Some other games use alternative revenue sources like having limited space, purchasable stat buffs, or time gating everything really hard. And of course it's only people who have been playing regularly for a long time that hoard that amount of free currency, newer players won't have the stockpile to fall back on.

What's the chance of getting a banner character within 180 rolls in FGO again

I quit rolling after 120 sq, so about 4 ten rolls. Sometimes i got a banner character with 1 free ticket, after 3 years of rolling i feel like getting a banner 4 star is harder than 5 star. fgo actually teach me how to control myself

I don't recall Epic7 having bad rates, it was mostly grinding Wyvern for RNG gear that made it so annoying. That's something that Genshin does as well.

I stopped playing Genshin after one month because of the moronic drop rates the the fact that the only fully developed character i ended up having was Noel because they hand up duplicates for her like candy.
