mobile gaming

What's the point of having more powerful phones if all the games are actual dogshit?

until controller support is more common in mobile games they will never be taken seriously

There's actually some decent stuff on the platform, but they generally don't require great hardware anyway.

There's a niche for controller games on mobile platforms but we're better off just embracing genres that work for touch controls.

          >games that work with touch controls
where the frick is warioware mobile then? nintendo clearly want to get into mobile games and a warioware would be perfect

Big developers are never going to make real games for the platform when it's so ripe for excessive monetization. Take the indie pill.

Are there any controllers/apps on android that let you map buttons to tap/swipe/virtual analog stick touches (like the controller system in Bluestacks)?

these are the games that pop every single time you ask for games that aren't shit on /vmg/
as you can see you clearly don't need powerful phones to play either

What are your favorite games to play when you unfold your phone? I like to boot up Into the Breach or emulate some old 4:3 games.

I don't play games on my fold. I just listen to ebooks or read.

I did download Drive to Die 1 and 2 because I remember playing these games when younger, but that's it.

You see, they're better at watching your camera and listening to your microphone than the previous models while having slightly better battery life.

Probably FLAC, they wouldn't save it in some lousy lossy format like mp3.

playing emulators on phones are shit tier. hack a real console or emulate on PC, shitbrains. phones are mobile so they get mobile tier games. everything fricking sucks but sonic forces is really good as a racing multi-player game. pokemon go is really the only other thing I play. granblue fantasy and dokkan I don't even play, just roll. I'm still waiting for that hatry potter game but there's really nothing

the reason all the games are bad is because none of them are paid. no self-respecting developer would make a decent game just to ruin it with ads and microtransactions. but noone is gonna shell up money up-front for a mobile game. so it's in limbo

also the control scheme is bad

The actually good mobile games have all been delisted and abandoned by their devs, I’m so bitter about how I can’t ever play Zenonia again, that series was some good stuff

I'm pretty sure there are good mobile out there but they're buried under a trillion google algorithms trying to make you buy micro transaction shit. Finding some third party site listing the good shit is probably your best bet.
It still won't require a powerful phone though since who the frick makes AAA phone games.

It’s exactly this, and at least on the App Store they don’t list every game in a certain category. There are good games but you have to dig VERY deep to find them unless the game is one of the top 200 ones in its genre, in which case there is a ranked list

      Any recommendations then?

I don't know. I just reasoned this out over google always showing the same shit on the front page despite probably thousands of apps coming out every day. I'm sure there's been a dozen of guys who've gone "wait, how about making a normal good game on the mobile and selling it" and then consequencelly failing thanks to google not supporting the business model.

It'd be pretty impressive if someone actually did start giving half a shit about mobile games, there's a lot of potential there but the market is so saturated in leeches that only want to make a quick cashgrab that there's no chance in hell of that.
