I tried the Metroid dread that is quite easy to emulate despite a certain graphic glitch like a slight flicker at times and in the cinematics it ran very well on my phone that has a snapdragon 870
pretty sure all switch games run like dogshit on android unless its a 2d game. if your phone doesnt have a fan inside it, it throttles and becomes unplayable.
The emulator only just released and it's performing rather decently.
It'll only get better with time.

The real question is sustained performance and it still depends on the phone manufacturer not just the chipset since they all have different cooling designs. It's nice if the game runs fine for 5 mins like Genshin but if it starts thermal throttling you're in for some lag and crashes.
>better with time.
Time doesn't solve phone shitty thermal
I use a Razer kishi so my hand does not touch the phone, according to the temperature measurements that the phone gives me while charging is 50 degrees Celsius
Oh dope, I got a new phone recently and got very excited when I found out about Skyline. Since those cowards gave up, this comes very handy.
Tried Skyrim so far but it crashed during the initial cart ride. On Skyline it ran better but it would crash as soon as you'd reach the settlement.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Hollow Knight and Metroid Dread ran perfectly on Skyline so I have high hopes nonetheless.
Did you try with a different driver? Most phones have outdated graphics drivers and Adreno drivers make AMD look the gold standard of stability. I unironically get twice the performance with the latest proprietary driver compared to stock.
any galaxy s9 bros have any experience with this before I go through the trouble? I have an s22 ultra, but don't feel like taking my case off each time I want to game.
I have used Yuzu on a pc with a gt 1030 and a fourth generation i5, sometimes being for example the SMTV the one that got stuck and it would be due to the lack of threads since it seemed to run smoothly
Based tech illiterate. I'll make it simple to you, your phone shares the same architecture as the Switch, the CPU code is running almost natively aka no emulation, and the Switch CPU is significantly worse than what's on the cheapest phone you can buy brand new nowadays. The biggest issue will be emulating the GPU, specially since mobile drivers are garbage.
>This is what I meant when I said that Android is quickly catching up to the Switch, and now this comes to prove my case.
That makes zero sense, anon. The Switch is a console, Android is an operating system.
Understandable, I meant that mobile devices in general are starting to catch up to lowerend current gen consoles like the Switch along with Streaming starting to get popularized, I wonder what Nintendo reaction will be like.
Flagship phones have been more powerful than the Switch for 5+ years now, even if you account for thermal throttling. But there are bottlenecks other than hardware.
What you mean, Switch emulators? Nothing. Switch on phones has been a thing for a while now, yuzu is just going to make it actually good since they already have a mature codebase. This is their first beta release, it's broken as frick but already performs pretty well on good phones.

I tried the kirby game and the mario odyssey and neither gave me an image only in the menu, at least it seems that it lacks work in yuzu, I'm going to look for the Hollow knight to see.

Dead. It died around 2014 when gacha took over. Emulators aren't "mobile gaming", but having the entire Switch library is better than what phones could ever hope for.
This is going to be like when dolphin first released on android. Barely usable and basically just laying the groundwork for when more powerful tech comes out a few years down the line. Cause when dolphin first released on android it couldn’t run shit and barely any phones or tablets at the time could run it at a stable 30. Obviously that’s different now days but this is just going to be that waiting game again isn’t it?
>even latest i9 struggle with zelda, as well as tons of other games
>expecting mobileshit to be able to run anything smoothly

Like the Switch is any better?
Switch at least has a fan inside it. Your phone just dumps the heat on your fingers until it burns you or shuts off

what would you recommend? I did download Adreno 676.12 for Skyline but that didn't change much back when I tried it.
It really depends on your phone, so just test the ones that are compatible.

Just try it, but don't get your hopes up for something like Zelda. About temps, you can always play at half res lol
there's no way an i9 struggles with a game that was specifically designed with cell shading to make it easier to run on older hardware.

Thank you for the clarification, what do you think Nintendo reaction will be like with stuff like this happening?

Galaxy phones get too hot in anything more than Metroid Dread or Donkey Kong.
My 5 year old chinkphone can run Metroid dread, cool I guess.
