I've only played Xenoblade and Metroid Prime but they both run fine. Any games you're thinking of in particular? Because all I have experienced is a bit of frame rate drops here and there. But I will say this, I will never emulate DS/3DS because of the screen setup, so yeah I have modded 3DS.
I'm not, you stated some games wont work well, I asked which ones and you gave me a dumb answer. You know what the answer is so why do I have to look it up? Have you ever had a conversation before?
Ok I'll bite: how well does it run the two switch Zelda exclusives, Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Animal Crossing New Horizons?

I didn't include animal crossing but I couldnt be bothered. Everything seems to run well or near perfect. ToTK does hover around 30 fps and I think no one so far has been able to get it to run at 1080p in docked mode. But this is far from unplayable.

Buddy, it took you forever to list a single game, just fricking drop it.
Janky audio
Yeah, but some of these games were unplayable that long ago. Frick man, even 360 emulation has gotten a lot better on the deck. Looking at playing Lost Odyssey for the first time.

You still couldn't even list them until after you looked them up.
>Doesn't emulate the switch well at all.
It absolutely does, and anything that has an issue is dealt with after a few months. Games like Pokemon Scarlet, FE Engage, Xenoblade 1-3, all run great. Only TOTK is still about the 20-25fps area as of now, but given the emulator's growth it will just be a few months before it's basically locked at 30.
Fpbp. If you can live without the latest Pokeslop and TOTK then the deck has >Modded games >Twice the performance >Better speakers >Better ergonomics >Better customization >Built in browser and voice chat >Twice as large game library and that's just verified games, playable and "unsupported" ones can still play well
Switch Oled has a great screen and battery life but that's really it. A complete waste of money with a modchip imo.
Latest pokeslop (I played Scarlet) runs alright now on Deck. I just finished it entirely on the deck and experienced 20-30fps, with 20fps in some towns and 30fps in buildings and battles in buildings. Overworld fluctuated, but 25fps was around the average and was completely playable.
Wait for soft CFW, opening up your console is never worth it, even if you pay 20 bucks to some homosexual to do it instead, there is always a 50/50 chance it might kill your console and you will lose a switch and 20 bucks.
This, really. I was an early adaptor of Switch CFW, and now that I have my deck - it simply feels like there's no point. The only reason to get a switch these days would be for the OLED screen, or to play games online.
If you go the modchip route don't install it yourself, because there's a very high chance you'll brick your console if you don't have both the right tools and lots of soldering experience.
Get a Steam Deck
Isn't the picofly modchip super cheap?
In any case modchipping them is pure sodering hell.
Doesn't emulate the Switch well at all.
OP the correct answer is to get a V1.
The even more correct answer is to get a 3DS and softmod it.

Oh I dont know, the fricking system sellers maybe?
Like?
Why are you playing dumb? No seriously, why?

Youre kidding yourself if you dont think Xenoblade and Metroid Prime are system sellers. The Switch library is pitiful.

Jej
I already own a 3DS.
I modded my 3DS in 2017. Freeshop was still up btw.
Keep playing with your 3DS then.
Switch is not worth it unless it's a cheap V1 or softmodding becomes available.

Games I played and finished with native or near-native performance on steam deck:
- Metroid Dread
- FE Three Houses
- FE Engage
- Diablo 3
- Diablo 2 Resurrected
- Pokemon Sword
- Pokemon Scarlet
- Kirby and the forgotten land
Games that I tried but were much worse than Switch performance:
- TOTK
- Astral Chain

Sounds like native switch performance. Not bad.
just get an unpatched switch for 250€?
are you fricking stupid? just get a waveshare rp2040. fricking solder it yourself. it's like 5 bucks in parts with the mosfets included.
>are you fricking stupid
Yes
Software hack for V2+ models any day now
>5+ years later

>still dealing with this outdated legitimate baby shit
You losers deserve the Switch.

I got a deck because I work out of town for a couple weeks every month. Bought an OLED portable monitor for it, really reccomend picking one up.
straight droooop
>switch thread
>assburgergays still get in to start a console war
stop shitting on the deck name you fricking morons.
