I realized a while ago that the middle era of pretty much any form of art is usually the best. Just enough rough edges that it keeps the normalgays/jews out but still approachable for the non-obsessed.
It's the case in almost anything, it starts out as the wild west where something new sprouts a lot of creative ideas. with good ones that have a lot of potential but also a lot of dead ends, then you transition into the middle stage where most of the bad is rooted out and there's experimentation with all the good ideas that showed potential.
