Ever notice how these threads never start with playstation or sega controllers? It's because we all know implicitly they're the best and need no arguing in favor of.
And for the other 99% of videogames (including almost every game worth playing) where you do not drive? >This is the stupidest shit I have ever seen. It still activates regardless and you're simply talking about anecdotal plecabos.
There is nothing anecdotal about that you colossal fricking moron. You cannot have both analog pull-space and a proper digital button at the same time. The vast majority of inputs for the triggers are digital. Digital buttons are better at being a digital input. Therefore, digital triggers are better for the majority of games. It's literally that simple.
>You cannot have both analog pull-space and a proper digital button at the same time.
Yes, it is anecdotal, since I have never once had a single issue with analog triggers in my entire life. Sounds like you're a malding shitter who's making up excuses for having skill issues. Cope and seethe, don't know what else to tell ya.
I'd say games with cars are more like 5%-10% of games. Have analouge sticks ever been an issue for you in a game that doesn't need them? LIke stuff not registering?
I tried using gyro on PC with a controller and it was the most imprecise, impractical shit I've ever used. It makes sense on a tablet but good god on a controller it's so bad and I guarantee you don't use it.
It's great. You probably didn't adjust it right or something like that. It's something a lot of people are using right now. A lot of Nintendo games use gyro controls for precision aiming and it's sort of a huge feature on the Steam Deck too. It's not mouse and keyboard but it's the next best thing
>Have analouge sticks ever been an issue for you in a game that doesn't need them? LIke stuff not registering?
They're a problem in that they're mushy and imprecise. >but lots of triggers have hard stages for their digital activation
It's still not the same. Regardless, they then aren't properly linear and it becomes a problem in games that use the analog. Why have two shitty controllers instead of one with digital triggers for 99% of games and an old 360 pad on the side with its raw, pure, analog pull?

Analog triggers are literally a trick for morons.
There is zero advantage in the vast majority of games.
Just because some dipshit moron made some weird frick-stupid comment doesn't mean anything. Analog controllers have objectively a higher degree of accuracy and precision than digital. Fact.
>Analog controllers have objectively a higher degree of accuracy and precision than digital.
What the frick do you mean? How is anything more precise than a digital input? How is an input where it triggers randomly halfway down the pull more precise than one which has a clear and unambitious trigger point with no unnecessary analogue section to pull through for your single button input you have mapped to it?
Because digital can only detect whether it's pressed or not. Analog detects the amount of pressure being applied, giving you a finer degree of control. moron.

What finer degree of control is possible over "press the button to shoot" or "press the button to activate heavy attack" or "hold the button down to access this menu"?
You objectively have LESS control because the point of activation is not clear at worst and you have a shitty, mushy button at best.

Modern Xbox controllers are so fricking ugly and shit, it's like they took all of the worst parts from the 360 controllers without taking anything that made that controller actually good. The Dualsense is a better successor to the 360 controller than the One/SeX design is. Shame because the original Xbox controller is an upgraded Dreamcast controller, it's like MS forgot how to make controllers after 8th gen..

actually based. i used a dualsense with my pc for a couple years but got sick of the connectivity issues and compatibility bullshit. bought an xbox controller last week and it's so fricking comfy and it just werks.
btw ease of use with pc is the most important feature, because using a controller on actual consoles it just embarrassing
Why the frick does every modern controller stick drift within a year of use but my old ps2/3 and nintendo controllers work fine after decades of abuse?
Lots of reasons, all sticks can drift (except sega) but things like ds2 have built in self calibration circuitry which mitigates it at boot, alps did use higher qulality components in the past. Gc and wii sticks are made by mitsumi but those are the drift prone from mechanical wear. PS 3 are a variety of sticks but range is intentionally limited which controls for stress and some are even hall effect.
Machenike g5 pro is what I've been using lately, it's a cheap and great controller that uses hall effect sticks and triggers and mechanical buttons but I'm not sure. I've been using it for 3½ months now and it still works. My gulikit kk2 pro failed on me after 3 weeks. Their mechanical switch design is ass imo, they get stuck way too fast. It's good that they're repairable but I don't want to spend 10 bucks every time just to repair 1 button.
