This game is too easy. I can enjoy anime tropes but you keep getting more and more mechanics that turn combat into just more cutscenes.
No one told you to play it on easy or medium
dont listen to this anon, persona 3 sucks and the remake sucks as much, very outdated gameplay they had to add shit from later personas
I played it on hard. The difficulty is still piss easy.
Cat sex
>wake up
>commute to school
>commute home
>sleep
>repeat
I don't get what you people see in this shit, don't you get enough of this irl?
JRPGs should be about going on epic journeys, not simulating the soul crushing tedium of real life.
Because you essentially get to experience an idealised version of youth while also engaging in an appealing fantasy of sticking it to corrupt adults.
School settings are incredibly popular for a reason.
The story is offensively bad and the JRPG mechanics are really barebones. DQ11 was way more fun
>makes Gankereddit seethe for nearly a decade
yeah I'm thinking based
If I liked this game (for the story) what other JRPGs should I try? I have not played a lot of JRPGs. The gameplay was fun at first but at some point I kept being taught more and more gameplay mechanics, even 30 hours in and then at some point the game became super easy outside of that one boss fight that took me a few tries to figure out.
DQ11 if you want a modern JRPG
Legend of the Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Disgaea 4
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memory
Persona 3 Reload
FF 5-9 (skip 8)
If you didn't enjoy the turn based combat, you should try Xenoblade series or just read visual novels.
SMT. Persona is basically the casual version of SMT.
Will I enjoy Persona if I got bored of Yakuza half way through?
Mayhaps. I played infinite wealth before P3 reload and while I found that game to be a slog I couldn't get enough of Persona. And I played both for the same time approximately.
This is like asking "Will I enjoy Final Fantasy if I got bored of Dark Souls"
They're not alike at all. Aside from taking place in modern Japan and falling under the giant umbrella that is RPG they're totally different games. At least personally I think Megaten are by far the best turn based games, but Persona 3 has its own monotony built in so who knows give it a try
>Persona 3 has its own monotony built in
Qrd?
The bulk of the combat in the game takes place in a giant random generated dungeon you progress in-between story beats.
why is the worst persona game the most popular
Persona 2 isn't popular at all though
I thought both P3 and P4 were terrible games, the social links weren't fun, the combat boiled down to put the square block in the square hole, the pacing was horrible and the overall story wasn't interesting
I'm not letting atlus fans tricking me into playing P5
I hope P6 has the cast quality of 4 but the palaces of 5
>cast quality of 4
Who let blud cook?
The balance is fricked, it becomes too easy in the late game
It's a dating sim with some SMT lite stuff tackled on. It can only mog anything if you're ronery homosexual.
every time I see people saying it's easy (it is) all I can think of is all the threads b***hing about how hard Okumura was when Royal came out because Ganker sucks at games.
Ganker does suck at games
all megaten games are easy except the ones that are designed like shit such as MT1 and 2 on the NES, if, and Ronde
>Mogs SMT
No.
>every other JRPG
Yes.
Thanks for the (you) kind sir. You deserve one too.
kys
Can I jump into this without playing the other Persona games?
No, you wouldn't get the story, as it is a direct continuation of previous games
Frick, but I don't have to money to buy Persona 3 when I bought Persona 5 already due to the Steam sale.
Why are you lying about it?
Yes every Persona has story wise nothing to do with the others, you're good to go.
The story is nonsensical and the game is too easy and simplistic. It's a good game but you can't consider it great.
I just finished the second palace. When does it get fun?
It never gets good, unless you're one of those people that love "exploring" the same three 150m streets over and over and over again.
How the frick do I force myself to enjoy this game. I haven't even finished the first "castle" or whatever the frick it's called. The intro is long, bounces around between 6 different fricking storylines, and is generally absolutely terrible. I've literally put probably 500 or more hours into P3 and P4, the PS2 games, but P5 is so fricking boring I literally can't force myself to be interested.
If you aren't a patient person then you aren't going to enjoy it. I'm not far into the game yet with 30 hours of playtime but I see what you mean. P5 takes a huge leap with story, character development and even gameplay compared to to 3 & 4 because it wasn't trying to be like the previous games. It's a whole new thing ATLUS tested out and somehow it worked for them in the end.
SMT lacks much of a story to be told, excluding Strange Journey and IV. Both series are great but neither are even the best narratives megaten offers. At least I can sleep well knowing a bunch of morons wont play my favorite albeit flawed as frick megaten games since it isn't getting a bastardized HD or remake.
Story in SMT is exactly as it should be. Vague and esoteric, focusing on vibes and atmosphere, how it makes you feel rather than overly explaining how it works. This is correct, the religious and occult horror benefits tremendously from the air of mystery. The game's story play like myth or rumors.
I was more or less referring to going deeper with characters. Not explaining out the story. Persona and DDS gets balls deep into their characters throughout their games and gives you much more immersion into giving a shit about them and understanding their reasoning for doing things.
I don't think SMT needs that at all, since the human characters inevitably are corrupted by demons and become their ethos personified. Did Walter's character benefit at all from all his classism struggle when in the end he just turns to world of str weak need to suck demon wiener? Too little like Yuzuru or Isamu is no good, but allignment characters also fit into the mold of religious/occult myth.
Better to leave the character study to persona or other spin off I say.
Persona uses their characters more sure, but that doesn't make them good.
I'd take a simplistic character that had defined motivations with 1 hour screentime, than a boring anime trope character with 40 hours screentime.
Giving the main characters social links destroyed any meaningful charactarisation for them.
i was playing DDS a while ago, and then i poured syrup on my old computer and lost the save, never putting plate i just ate pancakes on my computer again
>mogs SMT
Not at all, SMT is far more fun to play.
>and every other JRPG
Most but not all.
pic unrelated
Alright purseowners you had your fun but lawchad is in the thread now
Be on your best behavior OR ELSE!!!
Or else you will tell your mommy on us?
Even worse....
I'll tell GOD
god could suck a fart out of my ass
anyway go back to Black person school.
The male characters wear towels during the onsen scenes in Persona 3, 4 and 5 despite males wearing towels being prohibited in single sex and mixed sex onsens in Japan. Males are required to be naked while females have to cover up with full body towels
so what
>yeah bro let me just get my game rated 18+ so some fat moron weeb doesn't get upset over one single scene in a 150+ hour game
straightest persona fan
kiseki is better
I've replayed Royal to the end for the first time and started playing Strikers right afterwards.
And jesus, its the same characters, same environments but it somehow manages to feel absolutely soulless compared to Royal.
I don't know if its the shitty textures because its a switch port, the overly smooth animations or what but it feels extremely off.
Also feel like the voice acting in english has gotten miles worse.
Also they completely retconned Royal apparently
Oh I was planning to play royal and then get into strikers as well, that sucks.
>Also they completely retconned Royal apparently
I'm not sure but wasn't strikers made before royal? Or at least it was in development before it came out, it would make sense that royal isn't relevant for the story of the game.
Royal was 2019 and Strikers 2021 so who knows.
Still kinda sucks that all the stuff that happens at the end of Royal was just forgotten.
You can romance all of em if you want you bawd, the only difference it makes is a single scene at the very end of the game.
I've just started 5, I'm new to the series and I was wondering if you have to like focus on one chic or you can like harem the frick out of your party. Cheers.
You can harem everyone. Play however you want and enjoy it, anon.
>Persona 5 is the KING of jrpgs and is turn based
>Baldur's Gate 3 is the KING of wrpgs and is turn based
Take notes.
>making Mishima your personal submissive cumbawd
>mindbreaking him with Kamoshida roleplay
Truly a missed opportunity.
