Moltres

Shoving Moltres into Victory Road in LGPE was soulless. It was fine in the original RBY since it was GameFreak's first Pokemon game. But placing Moltres randomly in Victory Road when Articuno gets Seafoam Islands and Zapdos gets the Power Plant, locations that have themes that match their types, is unfortunate in a modern game. FRLG Moltres was in Mt. Ember and HGSS Moltres was in Mt. Silver. Shoving him back in Victory Road seems like a downgrade in comparison. I understand why they wouldn't include Sevii islands in LGPE. The main purpose of the Sevii Islands was to introduce Gen 2/3 features into FRLG like breeding, berries, new Pokemon and new items without altering the original Kanto experience. But LGPE doesn't have any Gen 2+ Pokemon or new mechanics like breeding, so there wouldn't be any point in adding the Sevii islands. Still, LGPE could've added a new volcano dungeon in Cinnabar where the player could encounter Moltres. Cinnabar did canonically have a volcano, after all. The LGPE Kanto artwork even has a volcano in Cinnabar, albeit on the left side of the island rather than on the right side like in Gen II and Gen IV. They probably just scrapped the idea. If they could change the main character and rival, add Master Trainers, Go catching mechanics, and even Mega Evolution, then clearly they weren't trying to be excessively "faithful" remakes like BDSP or pre-Elite Four FRLG. So what's the excuse for not adding a Cinnabar volcano or cave other than laziness?

It’s in victory road because it’s the most useful one, followed by zapdos, and articuno is useless (defensive flying ice type… lel)

? fire types suck ass + most people picked charizard anyway
it doesnt even get flamethrower so enjoy using fire blast
fire types don't resist ice in gen 1 either and all of lorelei's pokémon but one are part water so the only e4 it should have an advantage against you'd rather have articuno who can wreck lance too or zapdos for SE

Moltres at Victory Road is so that every legendary in Kanto has its own edge of the map.
Moltres to the west, Zapdos to the east, Articuno to the south and Mewtwo to the north.
FRLG fixed something that didn't need fixing.

Black person it's literally in the game. The legendary encounter spots are such that the four are as far apart as the map allows.
Moltres at the Cinnabar volcano would have been too close to Articuno, it's basic game design.

Have you ever played these games? Zapdos is as close to Mewtwo as Cinnabar is to Seafoam.

No, not even close. Cinnabar and Seafoam are practically right next to each other.

And the power plant and cave aren't? Look at a map right now and then quietly go away.

Fine, original RG. Happy now? I was referring to Gen I as a whole by the Western titles and including rehashes like Blue and Yellow since it's still essentially the same game.

Reminder that Moltres was originally meant to be in Unknown Dungeon and Mewtwo was meant to be at the top of Silph Co.
