Also you dont even understand why VIII's remaster is bad. If anything they put too much effort into it by redoing the textures and trying to touch up the backdrops instead of just uprezzing everything and dumping it out, which is what IX got.
The real problem, as with most modern Square games, is that Square has no idea what they're doing anymore.
I hate that they changed Squall's original model for a new one with dark hair and more Asian facial features. Dude has blonde hair and look like a white guy in cut-scenes and then in-game he look like some Japanese host or idol.
I rate games based soley on did i finish them or not because i dont waste my short life with shit video games. I dropped 8 during the 2nd flashback you play the machine gun guy and i finished 9. Take that as you will

Ultimecia was just a Necron that appears earlier. The game doesn't even try to explain who she is or why does she do what she does, to the point the fanbase had to fanwank something somewhat interesting as a backstory yet it gets shot down.
Everyone on Squall's party except him and Rinoa might as well not exist. Fricking Seifer has more development than them.
FF6 and 7 was when Uematsu hit his stride, yet if you really want to compare 8 and 9, 9 still has more memorable tracks and a better chocobo rendition.
