Paradox Luka has barely had a chance to do anything other than speedrunning prime Luka's adventure while looking for his dad
Yeah I understand it's kind of a necessary step back so the story can focus on the crazy plot compared to the more intimate character moments like in the original. It's a fair sacrifice though considering we get to see a lot more personality from the individual monsters. I really like young Promestein in particular.
People tend to forget that prime Luka didn't really have any good character moments until late part 2.
Well I would say early Luka is mostly build up for his future struggles while also creating his relationship with Alice. Both of which are pretty entertaining in their own way and help make Luka more endearing.
Paradox Luka lacks any jokes lines with the main cast being more than him and Alice. Most of those jokes came from the Timeloop where he's alone and even then there's not many.

back in ages past when MGE first started popping up we lived in an era where translating was far less ubiquitous and any meaningful communication to the Japanese man making something was basically nonexistent so you pretty much took what you got. In the case of mge this was unfortunately in the form of insanely inaccurate translations of the girl's profiles for quite a few years that made things in the setting seem far worse than they were including things like Manticores literally devouring humans and Charybdis girls participating in orgies with entire boats of sailors. This led to sites like space wars making entire crack-fic tier head canons up that were basically just excuses to commission art of impaled monster girl heads and general edgelording. It's generally gotten better over decade+ span of time that's gone on since especially since KC now just talks with his western audience and translations are near instant and accurate, but you still have a lot of hold outs that still act like any of that shit was real at all and they can get really fricking unhinged. There's also just a general rotating cast of incredibly dedicated morons that will hang any site that talks about mge and shit the place up. I couldn't tell you why it happens, but it's been a near-constant part of enjoying a dumb porn setting.

Anyone else raise Reina into a Dragoon? One of the npcs mentions that Harpies make good dragoons but that it's a bit difficult because they aren't well suited for a prereqs if I remember correctly. She turned out pretty good, though with how strong dancers and such are I don't know if it was really that much more effective than just doing that.

They've been like 99% translated waiting for the final part. The only things not translated are a bunch of gift dialogue because there's like 400 playable characters, and their postgame infinite dungeon quotes. However Part 3 demo came out so it's more like 90% now but the translation hasn't been ported to that yet.
