Tigrex's tail isn't meant to be a hitbox on that move, the Khezu ball is just broken and doesn't hit sometimes, the Narga tail hitbox is atrocious and significantly larger than it should be and lingers for a ridiculous amount of time, and Tigrex's bite is so bad you didn't even address it.

pre World games weren't really intended to be solo'd past village because monster health was set to a static value assuming 2.5 players but it's doable it'll just take longer. World and Rise scale health so not really an issue anymore
I'm fairly convinced people only think World looks better because World is exclusively tiny claustrophobic environments where the 5m draw distance, simple geometry and low res textures are barely noticeable and where they can easily fake all the lighting
If you actually inspect the game a little more closely you notice pretty quickly how ugly World actually is, it just does a good job of hiding it

I feel Odo was definitely one of the better additions. Tweaked a bit so it was a bit more reactive to the aforementioned circle strafing and it would be a perfect challenge. Fast, aggressive, uses a punishing mechanic that forces you to either have a specific consumable or risk eating a hit by holding still. It really could’ve been the full package. Still weird to me it wasn’t it rise though given the clear weeb influence its armor had going.

I feel the same way, Odo is so close to being ideal but they sort of left him as a bit of a mid-end game punching bag. If they bring him back, I also wouldn't mind if they increased how aggressively he sought out food once injured, since his heat up mechanic basically never triggers unless you actively feed him meat, and it's a really cool detail that gets overlooked
Fatalis was always the most boring of not only the black dragons but elder dragons in general. Alatreon and Dire Mirealis always encompassed the idea of a world ending threat better than just a literal European dragon that breathes fire. Hell, dalamadur encompassed it better too since at its size you could clearly see the fricker laying waste to entire countries if it so desired
I want to see them attempt an open world regardless of the shitposting. Have the hub/village be around the middle of the gigantic map and place different monsters all around the map. Like a teostra in a volcano y region in the upper left corner. And you ride your weird monster there and along the way you do what you usually do in MH. Prep. But this time there will also be other large monsters along the way to teostra which you can fight or not
Or, the more realistic scenario, you fast travel to your camp in the Volcanic region and approach the Teostra just like you would in any other Monster Hunter game. Then Teostra remains in the Volcanic region like it would in any other Monster Hunter game, at least until you slay it. With the quest complete, you fast travel back... as you do in Monster Hunter. It adds nothing to the formula. It's a big gimmick that impresses normalgays and journalists who only ever play long enough to explore it once, if that.

Now I'm imagining a really annoying scenario where the Elder Dragons truly are forces of nature that invade areas and force natural disasters in them, and if you want the area back to normal you have to slay/repel the elder dragon. So you could be minding your own business hunting for Amber Tusks when whoops, Kushala is here. Giant snowstorm causes avalanches that block off several areas and your target is gone. Better chase it off. And there will be several of these Elder Dragons at a time. And if and when you DO want to hunt them, after they're slain/repelled you have to wait for another one to show up. In real time.
Having recently played Dos I was quite surprised how wimpy elder dragons in that game are.
Small monsters don't even flee the area, they just chill right next to the supposed "walking natural desaster".

There's nothing to cope about. I played over 1000 hours between World and IB, and similar times between Rise and SB. I liked some aspects, but World fricked up what MH is by appealing to the mainstream western audience. They also made objectively bad game decisions like forced cutscenes and multiplayer that was locked behind watching those cutscenes. Granted you only experienced these issues if you have friends.

Mounts is a good thing, we're going to need some way to get around all that natural environment and waiting around while the mount follows a per-determined path in World was a bit boring. Not sure about the slinger but frick if I'm not excited to run around an even more immersive ecosystem than World. Hopefully it's like Guiding Lands and all the ecosystems are connected.
Mounts are good for moving around but theyll end like the palamutes in Rise and cluttering the screen.
Rise was a visual clusterfrick between palamutes, palicos, bug special moves and the monsters farting fireworks.

I put 40 hours into rise and I just got world earlier yesterday and world so far has been a much better experience, I'm new to the franchise but rise almost feels like a gameboy edition of the game to me, the bugs are cool but I think they're only there because of how empty it all is
Rise isn't classic. As someone that's been playing this franchise since FU, Rise is a more casualized World.
Monster rodeo and wirebugs are a 100x more offensive than any of the casualizations in World. Me and a friend played through Rise and Sunbreak and borderline steamrolled it.
I also just think Rise is kind of an ugly game. Overly saturated and the UI is offensively bad in things like the Rampage missions.

They can still do distinct regions, it just might be that in this game, all the regions are connected from the open map. So instead of needing to go from ancient forest, to the hub, then switch to hoarfrost reach, in this game you might be able to walk/ride directly from one region to another. Then each region has a number of distinct weather cycles they go through like this area having the dust/thunder, another place might have something different that happens dynamically

The problem was with the inverse kinematics they were using to stop monsters from clipping through the environment wigging out with leviathans all the time cause their tail and necks were so long,
Unlike something like Link's leg freaking out if you stand on the edge of the stairs in a Zelda game, Lagiacrus' head snapping around the room instantly has actual gameplay repercussions
you can still see the issue sometimes in World if Glavenus falls asleep near a wall since his tail sticks straight out, if it clips into a cliff it spazes out.
Other than that the only reason World didn't have more variety was a factor of time. They ported the monsters that shared base animations with the most other monsters first so the roster is 99% flying wyverns instead of porting stuff like the crabs which would only net them like 4 monsters to easily add.
i cant wait for a bunch of generic grey western dragon monsters again while we wait another 3 years for the 30 fps portable game with actually fun monsters again
I just hope there are actually fun Active skills & customizable movesets like those added in Iceborne, Switch Skills or Styles.

You're mixing them up with Silkbind/Wirebug moves. Switch skills are just interchangeable parts of the moveset like Savage Axe from World.

And there was no real "choice" when it came to longswords.
Old playstyle was nerfed into the dirt on Sunbreak release so if you didn't pick Drawn Double Slash and Sacred Sheathe combo, you were basically playing a shitty gimped weapon.

FU has very few problems with inaccurate hitboxes outside of some gen 1 monsters, most of its "issues" are full body hitboxes, or some moves lingering a little longer than you'd expect, but there are very few cases of hitboxes not matching animations
Tigrex's tail isn't meant to be a hitbox on that move, the Khezu ball is just broken and doesn't hit sometimes, the Narga tail hitbox is atrocious and significantly larger than it should be and lingers for a ridiculous amount of time, and Tigrex's bite is so bad you didn't even address it.

I feel Odo was definitely one of the better additions. Tweaked a bit so it was a bit more reactive to the aforementioned circle strafing and it would be a perfect challenge. Fast, aggressive, uses a punishing mechanic that forces you to either have a specific consumable or risk eating a hit by holding still. It really could’ve been the full package. Still weird to me it wasn’t it rise though given the clear weeb influence its armor had going.

I think there's some ecology reason limiting Odogaron to only appear in the Rotten Vale/Coral Highlands ecosystem since it didn't even show up in Stories 2.
It could’ve been a good excuse to ramp up odo’s already considerable aggression to 11. Not having as steady a food supply as with the vale provided would’ve been all the excuse needed to have odo operating at full throttle from the jump and ramping up from there.
I feel the same way, Odo is so close to being ideal but they sort of left him as a bit of a mid-end game punching bag. If they bring him back, I also wouldn't mind if they increased how aggressively he sought out food once injured, since his heat up mechanic basically never triggers unless you actively feed him meat, and it's a really cool detail that gets overlooked

Fatalis was always the most boring of not only the black dragons but elder dragons in general. Alatreon and Dire Mirealis always encompassed the idea of a world ending threat better than just a literal European dragon that breathes fire. But this time there will also be other large monsters along the way to teostra which you can fight or not
Or, the more realistic scenario, you fast travel to your camp in the Volcanic region and approach the Teostra just like you would in any other Monster Hunter game. Then Teostra remains in the Volcanic region like it would in any other Monster Hunter game, at least until you slay it. With the quest complete, you fast travel back... as you do in Monster Hunter. It adds nothing to the formula. It's a big gimmick that impresses normalgays and journalists who only ever play long enough to explore it once, if that.

Better chase it off. And there will be several of these Elder Dragons at a time. And if and when you DO want to hunt them, after they're slain/repelled you have to wait for another one to show up. Functionally the raptor will probably be the same, I think I just prefer it to the Palamutes visually. We don't know how it works, but my hope is that it has no combat functionality, since I also had an issue with the Palamutes feeling like they step on the toes of the Palicos. Giving the player two pets that fulfill almost the same role in combat makes them each feel individually less special imo, so putting a greater divide between your travel companion and you rcombat one seems like a idea

There's nothing to cope about. I played over 1000 hours between World and IB, and similar times between Rise and SB. I liked some aspects, but World fricked up what MH is by appealing to the mainstream western audience. They also made objectively bad game decisions like forced cutscenes and multiplayer that was locked behind watching those cutscenes. Granted you only experienced these issues if you have friends.

Rise isn't classic. As someone that's been playing this franchise since FU, Rise is a more casualized World.
Monster rodeo and wirebugs are a 100x more offensive than any of the casualizations in World. Me and a friend played through Rise and Sunbreak and borderline steamrolled it.
I also just think Rise is kind of an ugly game. Overly saturated and the UI is offensively bad in things like the Rampage missions.

So instead of needing to go from ancient forest, to the hub, then switch to hoarfrost reach, in this game you might be able to walk/ride directly from one region to another. Then each region has a number of distinct weather cycles they go through like this area having the dust/thunder, another place might have something different that happens dynamically

you can still see the issue sometimes in World if Glavenus falls asleep near a wall since his tail sticks straight out, if it clips into a cliff it spazes out.
Other than that the only reason World didn't have more variety was a factor of time. They ported the monsters that shared base animations with the most other monsters first so the roster is 99% flying wyverns instead of porting stuff like the crabs which would only net them like 4 monsters to easily add.
i cant wait for a bunch of generic grey western dragon monsters again while we wait another 3 years for the 30 fps portable game with actually fun monsters again

You're mixing them up with Silkbind/Wirebug moves. Switch skills are just interchangeable parts of the moveset like Savage Axe from World.
