Even Rise only introduced 2 new ones in the base game, 4 if you include the variants.

White/Old Fatalis made Top 20, I can't see Fatalis not making Top 20 when it also has a generally well liked modern rework. I'm also not a big fan of Nergigante, but he is quite popular and the flagship of Capcoms most successful game

every move he has is highly telegraphed and has a clear answer, and when he goes into his frenzy mode, he does the same attacks in the same order, so it becomes really easy once you get that down.
running at you with his wing shield? roll backwards
poking with wings? stand in the middle and dodge to the side hes not swinging (the hitboxes is a lot smaller than it seems so youre safe if you dodge to the opposite side)
stabbing with his tail? dodge to the side
its honestly probably my favorite fight once you have his rhythm down. i love it when they design a monster without any bullshit attacks or wonkey hitboxes, where each of their moves have a clear answer. tired of every mosnter having charge attacks and hip checks

It's fine to not wanna shell out more money for dlc but the game will literally be incomplete without it, its just the way mh goes. However I will say sunbreak made me 180 on rise, and its lategame stuff is probably my favorite of the series.
As someone who near exclusively solos, I love how Sunbreak is the most Solo friendly game in the series.

Well, I didn't buy it. Played on game pass. And now I found out that there's neither copying saves over to steam nor crossplay with steam. So basically no option for me to play sunbreak now even if I cared enough to. Can't give even 1% of the fricks I'd need to start over from the beginning
They make it hard to find but you can buy the DLC for the game pass version
the main rise page makes it look like you have to buy the entire base game to be able to get sunbreak on microsoft store but it's a separate game listing
