this. It's nice to have a lot of different content at endgame for a change instead of, lol farm Rajang or lol farm elder dragons that every other game has.
No they aren't, you need a lot of materials from lots of different things anytime you want to build up a new weapon. Even then, you're likely to spend more time leveling up a monster quest than you are seeking materials.
I think he means that even low level mons like Khezu get to have a use at all instead of just farming Frenzy Apex Afflicted Elder Anomalous Seething Tetranadon every time
For a game like Monster Hunter the mecha will inevitably need to be abandoned at some stage of the fight. If it needs to be abandoned in the completion of the fight then why have it at all?
I feel like it should be either all mecha or all on foot for hunting.
I like the idea of kitting out a mecha but it would either have to be a different category of hunt, which would leave the other category neglected, or it would just slow down gameplay.
>I like the idea of kitting out a mecha but it would either have to be a different category of hunt
It will be like rampages where people will either love it or hate it
Rampage showcases this entirely. You either love it or you hate it but even more than that the mode forces you off of the emplacements and fricks up all your defenses with the apex monsters making the defense worthless and reverting you to standard MH gameplay when counter signal is raised
I can see mech gameplay just be regilar monster hunter except the player is around 1:1 size of the monster. Then if the mech takes too much damage you continue the fight on foot
>playing LP2 on Xbox backwards compatibility >go to do gunsword special move >have to press start and select which now opens 360 dashboard >look online find out there is no way to change it or the controls >start chat with M$ trying to get hold of backwards compatibility team >get chat operator who makes a snide comment about me starting the chat must be some loser like who has free time >tell class is off at university
>tell her stupid ass its genetic degree I’m working on >instantly starts asking me millions of questions about her son Timmy who might have the autism and what to do >wastes my time and goes on for hours about Timmy’s autism >never get hold of M$ compatibility team
I tried, rip VS transformations and special support moves.
They added online on the Wii U. But for some reason, instead of updating the game for 3DS to access the online servers, they made a separate "connect your 3DS to a Wii U to access the online servers" application. So the 3DS version can go online if you have a Wii U, but if you've got a Wii U why aren't you playing the Wii U version?
>could have capitalized on this with 3U and/or 4U HD >instead we get nothing
I hate capcum so much.
>he doesnt know
we're getting MH6 announcement at the game awards, an HD collection of the old games will be announced in march of next year. trust the plan. >b-but why would they announce both of these around the same time
because capcom is moronic when it comes to marketing. GU got ported while base world was still getting title updates therefore this wouldnt be any different from that and no one can convince me otherwise.
i hope they find a good balance for hunts again in the next installment of the series. Honestly world2 would be completely fine if they just tweak the huge health pools
the fact that monster health was so stacked because they wanted you to use clutch claw made many fights unfun in Iceborne. In base game it trivialized fights.
Sunbreak had many things I liked, mostly the skill swap, and I liked the traversal with the Wirebugs. But 4U and GU hit the right spot for me in terms of overall features. Make fights like they did in those games with the level of polish like in World and Rise, and things might just be looking up
hunts take too long without clutch claw
When people say this, how long do they want a hunt to last? I'm not that good at the game, but doing challenge runs with meh gear and weapons I don't use often I still manage to clock in around 20 minutes or so on normal mons.
hunts take too long without clutch claw
It's because the monsters keep disengaging every few seconds and you have shit mobility to chase them down. Monsters also won't frick off after turf wars like in rise/sunbreak so all that shit adds up.
>everyone says that hunts are too short >anomaly quests can take me anywhere from 15 to 35 minutes depending on what I have to hunt
Do people who meme this just never get to doing these quests because holy shit, even popping the monster everytime they go into pimple mode still makes these hunts last forever
If youre solo'ing and not doing speedrun tier builds and strats you need to pump every monster for at least 10 but more likely 13-18 minutes and some for 20-25. People that say this shit have never played the fricking endgame, I am Research Level 280 now.
At most they'd make it one big Guiding Lands map, or a couple of maps with biome variations. Honestly I doubt Capcom will change the formula too much though. Part of MonHun's charm is the continuous refinement of the core gameplay with a few gimmicks thrown in each time. Personally as gimmicks go I much prefer wirebugs to the clutch claw.
I love the wirebugs and the extra evades and attacks they offer, so many options. They add so much depth and you dont really need them if you want to play the old way, they are not that powerful, but they give mobility and slightly higher dps at times. Switch skills too, I am only playing 2 weapons mainly, hammer and LBG and there is so much variety and depth, shit like Water Strike, Courage hammer, it gives actual pros so much of a higher skill ceiling, its insane. I hope they dont dumb gameplay down but keep it at this exact level, sure, make the hits feel meaty again like in world, add the highly detailed environments, but dont make it so desaturated and 'realistic'. A real mix between World and Rise would be amazing.
At the very least they should keep Switch Skills, add new moveset variations, incorporate some wirebug attacks into the normal moveset for some weapons. I wouldn't be upset if we don't get a new weapon if they keep refining the ones we already have.
I really hope they at least keep the moveset variants. I'll fricking kill myself with GL's full blast if we don't get to keep blast dash. FRICK charged shot, give me that mobility.
Yeah it's a good mechanic
default charge could do with a glow-up but generally I really like how courage/water strike try and tie themselves to the rest of the moveset and aren't just standalone moves
I'm playing Rise as my first MH and I have a couple of questions
Do the tutorials ever fricking end? I swear I get a tutorial prompt every 2 minutes or less
And I always thought this game had lots of armor/weapon crafting but I'm still using the starting gear even after killing the first bigger monster, when does the crafting start? I'm gonna be honest I have no idea what I'm doing, so far I'm just clicking on quests, killing shit and collecting resources I don't even know how to use
>Do the tutorials ever fricking end? I
No. >when does the crafting start
Pretty sure the main story directs you to the village blacksmith so you can make new weapons and armor. At low/high rank I personally don't bother with elemental damage and just craft whatever has the highest raw damage usually the bone tree.
I had beat base Rise but had not played any Sunbreak. Two friends wanted to get in on it so I picked it up and deleted my hunter to start a new one (just making low level shit wasn't the same because I has a billion items, mats, gold, etc). I didn't really 'click' with any weapon when I was playing, drifting between LBG, GL, and SnS
What's doing well in Sunbreak for a complete LR-HR-MR playthrough? Was thinking of something I hadn't tried yet like IG
If you want to do the legit crafting experience feel free but base Rise is so easy I would recommend using the OP weapons to get to Sunbreak faster
Any weapon is fine, I used SnS and DB mostly before Sunbreak
Tbh, they're all good enough. I cba metashitting with just one weapon when I could be playing 6 of them for different reasons. Haven't used IG since my first World playthrough years ago, but experimenting with weapons is half the fun.
GS is one of those weapons I have resigned myself that I will never ever ever click with. Both charge playstyle doesn't mesh with me and it looks like the new SAS playstyle wouldn't either.
I do like DB for sure, though. I liked the Drill move a lot and it looks like that's the meta now over Bind, which I hated.
My top picks for Sunbreak are Lance, SnS, Switch Axe, Hammer, Insect Glaive and Gunlance, those weapons are simply at their best in this game so its better to enjoy them now in case they remove all the fun stuff in the next game
I was reading TU5 helped GL out a ton so maybe I will.
I'm conflicted: Barrage is FUN but spamming one move is not fun. I'll nesd to check it out to see how people play it at MR
At first I thought so too, but then I appreciated it and now I really like them. The feedback when you do a lot of damage and the monster doesnt get a chance to get up and you just keep popping the pimples until theyre down again. Its awesome. Endgame monsters in older titles were all the same and it burned you out quickly, I dont want to do the same 3 monsters in perpetuity, at least give me 10 or in the case of Sunbreak, 30+.
>get hit for paltry amount >wirebug into the monster >get hit again >wirebug into the monster again >cart
you have only yourself to blame dumbass LS shitter
I mean what was the creator even trying to hide? Couldn't he have just turned off the UI elements in the options menu?

It's a bit paranoid, but I wouldn't put it past some of the more mentally ill posters here
>particle effects nonstop
I will never understand people who defend Rise's overall aesthetic. shit just feels comical after a while, like you're playing a party game. >mr. monster, meet mr. weapon >colored particle effects on every attack, in multiplayer it looks like the pyrotechnics at a gay rally >yokai monster designs so everything other than the ice blade yeti thing look moronic and completely out of place
>particle effects nonstop
Newsflash, you can kill how glaring the particle effects are and have them barely present. There's options for just about everything in Rise unlike previous entries. >mr. monster, meet mr. weapon
Again, you can't completely mute your hunter and never hear any of that so what exactly are you b***hing about?
Normalgays who got in with world. They just play with default. Anything other than monhon language makes me retch. Even the fake language sounds wrong in long sentences though. You can tell it's not-japanese.
what's with the complaints I see about HH being terrible at end game because it's too slow? If MR monsters are that fast wouldn't other weapons struggle too?
Or is it because a lot of the silk bind moves and trio have really long animations, which I guess is true?
Slow as in it doesn't do as much personal damage so hunts just take longer
Its probably to balance how strong the attack buffs can be with a fully team but it makes it feel unsatisfying to use in practice
Same problem Lance had for a while where it felt like you had to do twice as much just to get a monster to flinch
Honestly, the monsters are too fast for Hammer, GS and HH, these weapons have no way to compete with DB, LS, Bowguns, Lance etc because the monsters are just too fast and hit too hard at the endgame, for it to be viable to play slow heavy hitter weapons.
I guess if you're a speed runner it doesn't matter but yeah I felt toward the end there that we've reached God Eater monster speeds but I can't move as fast as God Eater
Some monsters are still very fair, highly readable, others are so twitchy and large that whenever they fall over, you have to make a detour to get to their head. Speaking as a hammer main I have to mention one gripe that has become more and more apparent over the last few iterations: KOs used to really stand out, not only were they one of thr few ways in which you could get 'free' damage into a monster, but it was also very distinct, which meant that others could clearly see that the Hammer user was pulling his weight. Nowadays there are so many ways to stun, stagger and generally down a monster - Kittenator palico skill - that KOs feel far less valuable. It feels frustrating to build up to a KO when you know that in the next few seconds the Risen monster will lose its power or the qurio pop will smack them down. Its like: why work towards a KO when downing a monster is so ubiquitous anyway? It made me turn towards LBG, because the speed and size of monsters aside, whats the point of going hammer if you are just using a worse DPS weapon.
I think they need to separate KOs from bludgeoning damage from some of the super moves that give instant KOs, at least for the games that have the big super moves
Actually, yeah. I wonder if people who liked Rise should give GE a chance now. GE is better suited for that speed of play, imho.
Monster Hunter was slow and deliberate, with animation locks and GE was your twitch based arcade time.
Rise is the worst of both worlds (and I like Rise for the most part)
There is only two things annoying me about afflicted monsters >the insane level cap and brackets dividing players >they look ugly
ranking up to 220 is relatively fast now, but the whole system still divides the online playerbase.
I liked that before investigations were introduced, you could pretty much join any quest from MR10 onwards and only needed to level to unlock them yourself. With afflicteds, everyone who didn't keep up with the level cap is left in the dust and probably doesn't even care to start increasing their research
Amatsu isn't my favorite fight, but i find it hard to think of what you could find offensive about the fight.
The moves where it throws you into the air are janky, but most other attacks seem to be pretty fair and predictable
>thought I'd never get to special investigations because leveling the normal ones is such a chore >after getting to level 300, it feels like they're leveling much faster now
Welp, I'm not stopping until I clear all of them now
Why does it seem like regarding rise discourse, opinion regarding the speed of the game seems to fluctuate between >hunters are too fast monsters can never touch them, easiest game in the franchise and maybe even world
and >monsters are too fast capcom fed them crack and turned monster hunter into god eater, greatsword can never get a charge off
Monsters are faster but the more you play the more you realise hunters are overtuned as frick and you can iframes or mechanic pretty much everything that comes at you. It's easy because it's the game that most lets you play by reaction rather than positioning and forethought
>hunters are too fast monsters can never touch them, easiest game in the franchise and maybe even world
this was true in base Rise >monsters are too fast capcom fed them crack and turned monster hunter into god eater, greatsword can never get a charge off
this is true now, with counter bait monster attacks being the newest arms race bullshit
What confuses me is that the average monster speeds in Rise/SB feel comparable to gens 3 and 4 for me. I genuinely don't see where this "they're too fast and spastic" narrative is coming from. The big difference I am seeing is that monster HP is much higher specifically because gen 5, in general, encourages way more uptime in combat than previous games did.
I made the mistake of taking a looooong break from Sunbreak and now I'm only like on Anomaly Level 138 and now I'm desperately grinding, just so I can get my Gunlance more Shelling Damage.
Base Rise not much changed, you still mostly use TCS. Sunbreak changed it up to be either counter-focused with strongarm or combo-focused with surge slash
Still better than Hyper, Tempered, or Rise's Apex. Seriously, frick them. Anomaly monster are essentially the same shit, but Capcom somehow managed to make them not as shitty as their previous attempts at end game padding. But then I hardly touch that shit because I can't be asked to grind end game because it's the fricking end game. Never bothered doing GQ in 4 for the same reason, it's pointless. Tri U was the last game in the series that wasn't padded bullshit at the end.

Just roll until you get a slot upgrade or a QoL skill like speed sharpener or evade extender. No point in chasing those cheated sets.

of course not, all the speedrunners got their perfect necklaces 100% legit and definitely not from the very obvious editor on fricking Mod Nexus with 10k downloads
:^)
>Mfw they really expect you to spend millions of zennis to get the perfect qurio augment skills (without loosing any skills on your set too???) on top of getting a god qurio charm
What the frick else are you going to spend money on?
Getting +1 skill that you want is on the reasonable side for qurio augments. You can also afford to lose skills sometimes on certain armor pieces, it's just not worth bringing up in these set builders
Uh I know this might be stupid, but why isnt there any crossplay? Like I would like to play with my friends that got the game on a switch or a ps5...
Is there any hope on getting this?
SF6 has crossplay, so the guys at capcom clearly don't lack the experience with it
I imagine it's more to do with Microsoft/sony/nintendo playing ball than capcom's willingness
Will crossplay would be a good thing, you have to keep in mind that the "PC master race" community is full of cheaters and I'm sure Capcom is aware of that fact.
So if they add it in the future, it will be with some shitty anticheat rootkit.
or they will just not care, like they already don't
it might be different if the next monster hunter doubles down on GaaS bullshit and attempts to run for more than a year
Either of those is fine. My pessimistic guess is that MH6 will have only male armor designs, as in they won't be that different from each other. And the quest handler will be like that ST6 black gay dude.
No, sadly you can't use creamapi.
I believe you can use koalageddon or greenluma, some people think they are "more dangerous" than creamapi. I believe some people have actually gotten banned for using greenluma, though I don't know how true that is.
For a 5 year old game Its still got a decent playercount. It usually averages the same players if not more as rise, but most people are probably running fatalis
>being able to just chill in a map with your buddies and hunt a variety of monsters spanning almost the entire roster with no downtime in between while making progress towards upgrades
It's literally the pure essence of monster hunter smoothly rolled into an endgame and yet your average Ganker mhtard hates it. Just goes to show people dont actually like hunting monsters. Although I agree when people say it would have been perfect without zone de-leveling
>being able to just chill in a map with your buddies and hunt a variety of monsters
Any and all buddies of mine stopped almost immediately after Shara with only one of them going as far as killing Raging with me a few times (or attempt anyway). After Rise came out they never looked back despite saying multiple times they would (which admittedly I said the same, but I barely ever go back to World either).
>Just goes to show people dont actually like hunting monsters
More I don't like hunting World's versions of monsters or its newcomers. Most of them are boring or gutted iterations of themselves that not even the expansion absolved. Seriously fighting Iceborne Zinogre is gross because its mechanics were changed for no fricking reason and it ruins the identity of the monster.
I'll hunt monsters all day, that's never been a problem, but at least make the monsters worth fighting, but I guess that's why ATs exist (which is still a terrible excuse, but it's all World/Iceborne has in terms of giving us decent fights).
I think the problems is that there is a way too big discrepancy in quality of monsters in World and the few very good monsters like Fatalis, Alatreon, Raging Brachy and AT Velkhana don't even get to be in the supposed dedicated endgame, and so we are left with a bunch of boring scrubs in the griding lands not to mention that most fights pre TU are mediocre at best due to less than usual aggression, nerfed speed and how easy it is to just dogpile on the monsters. I think Sunbreak does a way better job at keeping most monsters relevant, a lot of them actually are able to keep up with you, hit you, keep the aggression and avoid being open to just trade hits, affliced, risens and hazard quests cover much more of the roster and even if you don't take them into consideration there is a lot more monsters elevated to upper level threat like Lucent Narga, Violet Mizu, Flame Espinas, Chaotic Gore, Scorned Magnamalo, Primordial Malzeno, I do wish Molten Tigrex, a new form for Astalos/Seregios and a new form for Goss Harag were present
At least with Sunbreak reintroducing Lucent we know Capcom is willing to bring rare sub's back that aren't just Silver and Gold. So it's a start at least, along with getting appropriate places to actually fight them. One thing Iceborne didn't have that I'm still sore over was the lack of a Tower like map to fight monsters arena style that WASN'T in Astera or some set piece location like all the story arena maps. One can argue there was no need for such a place in that game, but it would've been hell of a lot more appealing than chasing Elders up and down Recess, and Astera arenas are too man made. It's why I'm glad maps like Infernal Springs were made and Tower 3 was brought back, they're great locations to fight monsters in the wild with little distraction.
Same, they also made Metal Raths really fun to fight, I hope that they don't go back to being hesitant to bring back other rare species or to make more, also on the point about the lack of another arena type map, you were spot on, I knew that something was missing and I couldn't put my finger what was it, its odd the absence of the tower considering that all G rank games so far had it in some shape or form except Gen 1

>I hope that they don't go back to being hesitant to bring back other rare species or to make more
Given how Capcom is also okay with retooling older maps in to the new style, I don't doubt we'll be seeing more Tower locations and rare subs in the future. Hell the existence of a Tower map actually gives Capcom MORE validity to bring back the absolute freaks because that's literally the entire purpose of that locale. It houses monsters rarely seen by humans and extends into the heavens. It's a mysterious places that draws in absolutely mysterious creatures like Lucent and Molten, and I'm glad Sunbreak proved not every sub monster is a one and done (outside the Raths obviously).
>my friend is a cheap shit who won't buy games or his wife will beat him or some shit >game goes on sale for 20 bucks for base+expansion >buy Rise Master for him and another buddy so we can all play together >delete my hunter and get ready for the kino >ohboyohboyohboy.jpg >his fricking wife has his fricking kid today of all days >going to be probably weeks before we see him again online

>can't wrap my head around early Swaxe >I don't have high end rapid skills so those morph spam combos are for the future, not right now >suddenly realize I've played DBs forever >DBs have 2 (technically 3 but it's really just 2) modes too that you swap in and out of >swaxe is the same >it suddenly clicks and I start doing well
the human brain is weird
is there any way to make LS playable again since nerfs and meme ring-circle changes?
circle just dont fricking work in coop and i play with a friend 95% of the time, he outdamages me easily dealing 70%+ of total dmg, only way to catch up is play actual good weapons like GS or SA, switch skills fricking suck too
what do? any builds that can compete with good weapons?
The ring is much better now after the updates, as for builds I don't remember which playstyle benefits the most of elemental but you should consider doing an elemental build
Sacred Sheath does solid damage even solo, and is great for multiplayer since you don't need the counter to level up your aura
The meme ring is slightly more usable since it doesn't go away upon sheathing now, but it is admittedly a bit suffering going for a counter-heavy playstyle in multiplayer. If it's just 2p with you and a friend then it's workable if you want to use it
>can't stand Yomogi because I associate her with the shitty dango buff system >absolutely despise Chichae because of her creepy uncanny face and her annoying voice lines while I'm sorting through my investigations
so if I have this right the switch axe stuff I am learning in the beginning (using axe to charge up the sword, which I then use to get amped) won't matter once I have EE 1-2 and Rapid Morph 3 because then the mainstay DPS combos involve morph->morph->sword double swing->morph->morph
Playing and keeping up with friends helps. All of my most played Monster Hunter titles with 300+ hours are ones I was playing simultaneously with my friends weekly. When they stop playing, I more or less stop playing and will return on occassion. I'm over 700 hours on Rise/Sunbreak as a result on Switch, not counting whatever time I put into my Steam version.

same. I find the gameplay of rise nice but the progression is boring. can't see any reason to farm monsters in it. its like exoprimal in a way, fun in short bursts but awful to play for long term.
yeah. i had fun the first 100th hours or so but then its sets in that all you do, is hunt the same monster for better gear, with shit drop rate on materials for set gear, only so you can kill the same monster again but 5-10 minutes faster.
im new too the series but it seems to be the case.
i had fun with it. even put another 100 hours on iceborn but there other games i want to play so im not sticking around farming gear for self-satisfaction.
The thing is, while you could grind for the sake of the grind, its better to fight what you want or take the chance to try out other weapon types or improve in any that you are using, people usually end up playing more because each weapons is really different and offer diferent experiences with different monsters, some people even do stuff like roulettes with random weapons and monsters and maybe some other rule.
Infernal Springs theme is hot ass though. On a similar level of annoying as the base Deviant theme, just more bland.
It feels like a constant introduction for something to start, but it never does.
Forlorn Area has a great theme, but they made it worse by replacing the tuba with a violin
I think Rise Zino and Rise Teostra themes outright better than most previous iterations and Rise Chameleos, Rise Kushala and Rise Mizu are decent enough as sidegrades, I do agree about the rest
Being bad is the best way to enjoy the game. It best encompasses the david vs goliath feeling and gives a greater sense of victory after a fierce back and forth. The clashing of bone and sinew.
Thats my cope anyway lol.
I don't get this complaint.
Every single TU monster had new armor with an unique new skill and there were a ton of quests for layered armor.
I'd rather have them make meaningful armor sets for the new monsters over adding some gimmick heroic speed eating meme set.
I AM underwhelmed with the lack of variety in the actual hunts of the event quests though.
Give us more mini monsters, a reason to fight Ibushi and Narwa in endgame and give us an event for an actually challenging gaismagorm
>model swaps qualifies as 'good stuff'
We got a bunch of layered armors from Frontier, one or two from World, and even new gear for the cats and dogs. Sunbreak's event quests are hell of a lot more rewarding than Rise by a huge margin.
just do you
some people go thousands of hours just using the greatsword and some switch around every couple hunts
the game isn't so hard you're forced to specialize or diversify
>for the record I fricking despise cutscenes and shit that wastes my time
All of World's are unskippable coupled with over an hour long tutorial before the game finally actually lets you play it.
I think gameplay wise Rise does many things better than world such as a better decoration system, more rounded armor/weapon balance, better overall weapon variety with swappable moves and such and an endgame system that doesn't just have you fight the same 3 elders.
World has a better *feel* to it though. from graphics to sound effects and animations
I do think that World has better hitstun, Hunting Horn is way better, Alatreon and Fatalis are better than any monster in both games, its obviously better looking and the guiding lands as a concept is fun but I do think that its inferior in some important aspects, Sunbreak has a lot more fights that are interesting and make a lot of them viable for endgame, story progression is much better due to less cutscenes no unskippable cutscenes and more focus on doing quests, map design personally feels better to explore and to fight on since world maps could sometimes be too busy visually and the uneven terrain everywhere was a nuisance, armor and weapon design is much better, exclusive mechanics where much better implemented and more interesting to use than its World equivalent, no sieges, weapon moveset is way more customizable with lot of improvements to weapons like Lance, Hammer, Switch Axe, Sword and Shield and etc, if you found GU clunky then World might be for good enough for you since its more similar to Rise than GU, but World does like to waste around your time with padding like track gathering and unskipable cutscenes so your other concern is a valid reason to not want to play it.
>hear about some big overhaul mod for MHW >check the changelog >most of the weapon changes are things they took from Rise and tried to explain like they came up with it and the reason for its inclusion on their own
Dude you can just say you liked Surge combo GS, SNS having a guard point into Perfect Rush and HH unsheathing into any note. You don't have to larp as some big developer man that actually designs games
I think they're okay
idk I quite enjoy being able to fight scaled-up versions of almost every monster in the game.
this. It's nice to have a lot of different content at endgame for a change instead of, lol farm Rajang or lol farm elder dragons that every other game has.
But Rajang and Elders are the endgame sunbreak grind thanks to their materials being essential for everything.
No they aren't, you need a lot of materials from lots of different things anytime you want to build up a new weapon. Even then, you're likely to spend more time leveling up a monster quest than you are seeking materials.
You can just buy the lower tier crap for new weapons with the item limit capped coins you should have from grinding rajangs and elders.
the scaling is so minuscule you won't even notice the difference between a 200 or 240 monster
I think he means that even low level mons like Khezu get to have a use at all instead of just farming Frenzy Apex Afflicted Elder Anomalous Seething Tetranadon every time
It's not the quests, it's the rewards/requirements
They're bearable with Hinoa with Hunting Horn and Luchika with either of the Bowguns
to me that easy mode with those two, not that im complaining.
What really sucks is that Capcom has yet to implement the Gun Sword from Lost Planet 2 as a new weapon class
>Wants the Gun Sword from Lost Planet, but not the Mecha.
I'll never understand you.
Then if the mech takes too much damage you continue the fight on foot

that's a good greentext it's weird no one is responding to it
Keep it up, anon
They're cool
About all you can expect from endgame, a bit too easy
>3U and 4U servers about to be axed by Nintendo
Series might as well be dead. Mh6 MIGHT be decent but im not keeping my hopes up
isn't 3u multiplayer local only anyway?
They added online on the Wii U. But for some reason, instead of updating the game for 3DS to access the online servers, they made a separate "connect your 3DS to a Wii U to access the online servers" application. So the 3DS version can go online if you have a Wii U, but if you've got a Wii U why aren't you playing the Wii U version?
>could have capitalized on this with 3U and/or 4U HD
>instead we get nothing
I hate capcum so much.
Why would they re-release any MH when they port 80% of the monsters for the new game
Because nu-MH is trash not worth playing?
You weren't gonna buy a game either way so why would Capcom listen to you
Wouldn’t that mean that they could get a sale out of him if they did a re-release bundle?
You fivers are’t very smart
At least the community developments for Tri's multiplayer made a lot of strides recently.
GU is gonna stay online so at least we got one decent MH game to do online hunts in.
>he doesnt know
we're getting MH6 announcement at the game awards, an HD collection of the old games will be announced in march of next year. trust the plan.
>b-but why would they announce both of these around the same time
because capcom is moronic when it comes to marketing. GU got ported while base world was still getting title updates therefore this wouldnt be any different from that and no one can convince me otherwise.
>world hunts take too long without clutch claw
>rise hunts are too short and scripted by itself
Hunts felt the best in 4U and GU.
I love my energy blade Charge Blade in GU
i hope they find a good balance for hunts again in the next installment of the series.
Make fights like they did in those games with the level of polish like in World and Rise, and things might just be looking up
Early game in GU is CBT. I dropped at the 2 khezu quest.
This is not a fun experience at all.
hunts take too long without clutch claw
When people say this, how long do they want a hunt to last? I'm not that good at the game, but doing challenge runs with meh gear and weapons I don't use often I still manage to clock in around 20 minutes or so on normal mons.
hunts take too long without clutch claw
It's because the monsters keep disengaging every few seconds and you have shit mobility to chase them down. Monsters also won't frick off after turf wars like in rise/sunbreak so all that shit adds up.
Fiorayne was the best part of Sunbreak
I didn't return for the last monster updates. Does she have any new cute reactions towards MC?
>Does she have any new cute reactions
Yes
Towards Malzeno though. Enjoy being second best Hunter LMAO
Adding new combos to elder dragons at the end of anomaly research was pretty cool and the things you can do with your gear is insane.
to be honest every monster should have extra moves when they're enraged and near death
>everyone says that hunts are too short
>anomaly quests can take me anywhere from 15 to 35 minutes depending on what I have to hunt
MH6 will be full open world japslop.
>make most successful game in the franchise by far
>completely change the formula in the next one
why
Because Japan loved Skyrim that much.
they love MH more
Skyrim.game prints money
Skyrim.game with Monster Hunter will sell 50 million copies.
I wish
You guys weren't kidding about Courage Hammer being fun as frick
It's got a certain something
Is Valor Hammer in GU like that, too?
sorta kind'of but not really.
It's similar but it's got less tools and the courage combo doesn't integrate into the rest of the moveset as much
Really hope they at least keep the mode switching on hammer for the next game, makes it feel like a more complete weapon
Yeah it's a good mechanic
default charge could do with a glow-up but generally I really like how courage/water strike try and tie themselves to the rest of the moveset and aren't just standalone moves
God this was such a redemption after Rise Courage Hammer
I love how much it lets the golf swing exist again after World
woah since when do you get that slowdown when you kill the monster? is that new?
its a mod
its also in mhnow so I hope its in the next game
With HH dead I could never figure out a weapon to stick with
I was willing to give it a try but when I crafted a Zinogre horn and didn't get electric guitar sounds I shelved the weapon for good
I'm playing Rise as my first MH and I have a couple of questions
At low/high rank I personally don't bother with elemental damage and just craft whatever has the highest raw damage usually the bone tree.
you'll be crafting shit very soon
>i want to craft
then refund rise and play emulate dos/FU
I don't remember them being that prominent after a few hours. You'll be crafting lot's of shit after your first 2 or 3 large monsters, don't worry.
They're just hyper quests.
GS and DB are both really strong from start to finish. Swaxe is also really good but you need level 3 rapid morph to make it really good.
Piping in here to say that you should take a look at surge slash combo. Shit's great.
bind was not the meta over flight
anyway DB revamp fricking when
>DD spam
>to Flight spam
>to Spiral spam
fricking weapon cannot catch a break
I like it, aiming it and hitting the G Spot feels good
My top picks for Sunbreak are Lance, SnS, Switch Axe, Hammer, Insect Glaive and Gunlance, those weapons are simply at their best in this game so its better to enjoy them now in case they remove all the fun stuff in the next game
you should try gunlance again because reverse blast dash makes it play pretty differently which you might enjoy more
I was reading TU5 helped GL out a ton so maybe I will.
They're hard but fair.
isnt that too much damage?
his armor set probably had shit defence or shit fire resistance
Endgame (260+ Anomalies) will start to one shot builds that are badly prepared, if you run around with 70% health you can expect to die a lot.
Nah
>panic-bug away
>get comboed into oblivion because you removed your own invulnerability
Many such cases.
>get hit for paltry amount
>wirebug into the monster
>get hit again
>wirebug into the monster again
>cart
you have only yourself to blame dumbass LS shitter
blind
Youre blind if you think you did anything productive there. Just take the hit and lay down LS adhd kid, you arent that good at countering.
blinnd
you suck
what a fricking moron, I expect no less from ls players
Is this video cropped?
What gave it away the wirebug UI element being on the right side of the screen?
I mean what was the creator even trying to hide? Couldn't he have just turned off the UI elements in the options menu?
Probably minimizing the chance of being searched up and shitposted about by some schizo
It's a bit paranoid, but I wouldn't put it past some of the more mentally ill posters here
That breath sweep is probably Rath's strongest attack and its real easy to end up with negative resists from anomaly crafting
>particle effects nonstop
I will never understand people who defend Rise's overall aesthetic. shit just feels comical after a while, like you're playing a party game.
>mr. monster, meet mr. weapon
>colored particle effects on every attack, in multiplayer it looks like the pyrotechnics at a gay rally
>yokai monster designs so everything other than the ice blade yeti thing look moronic and completely out of place
most easily moddable game in the franchise
you type like a homosexual though so I assume you'll seethe about that too
>particle effects nonstop
Newsflash, you can kill how glaring the particle effects are and have them barely present. There's options for just about everything in Rise unlike previous entries.
>mr. monster, meet mr. weapon
Again, you can't completely mute your hunter and never hear any of that so what exactly are you b***hing about?
Wait, there are people who don’t play with Monster Hunter Language? What’s the point? That’s like changing the voices in Animal Crossing.
Normalgays who got in with world. They just play with default. Anything other than monhon language makes me retch. Even the fake language sounds wrong in long sentences though. You can tell it's not-japanese.
>monster designs look moronic and completely out of place
?
but enough about world
any worldsperms here?
what's with the complaints I see about HH being terrible at end game because it's too slow?
If anything, some people who like Rise is also same people who hate God Eater for the same reason they like Rise.
>GS
>when Strongarm exists
>too fast for Hammer
No? Hold a charge attack and spam the swooce bug art
And if Courage, walk in neutral > Water > BONK >BONK x2
Currently AR260-ish and GS hasn't been a problem for me.
There is only two things annoying me about afflicted monsters
>the insane level cap and brackets dividing players
>they look ugly
ranking up to 220 is relatively fast now, but the whole system still divides the online playerbase.
I liked that before investigations were introduced, you could pretty much join any quest from MR10 onwards and only needed to level to unlock them yourself. With afflicteds, everyone who didn't keep up with the level cap is left in the dust and probably doesn't even care to start increasing their research
my fricking god what a shit fight amatsu is, even frontier autumn Yama was more fun than this
Amatsu isn't my favorite fight, but i find it hard to think of what you could find offensive about the fight.
The moves where it throws you into the air are janky, but most other attacks seem to be pretty fair and predictable
Too much running around for my taste, even with funlance reverse blast
at least i got a cool killscreen out of it
jesus christ
>thought I'd never get to special investigations because leveling the normal ones is such a chore
>after getting to level 300, it feels like they're leveling much faster now
Welp, I'm not stopping until I clear all of them now
props for sticking it out, Im close
Everything about the game sucks.

They do. Those lech demons are chadzeno's bête noire

>like range weapons

it's a bad feel
that's why god invented berserk
Why does it seem like regarding rise discourse, opinion regarding the speed of the game seems to fluctuate between
>hunters are too fast monsters can never touch them, easiest game in the franchise and maybe even world
and
>monsters are too fast capcom fed them crack and turned monster hunter into god eater, greatsword can never get a charge off
Both are true.
if you think the second point is true you're trash
post your speed runs, World Champ
Monsters are faster but the more you play the more you realise hunters are overtuned as frick and you can iframes or mechanic pretty much everything that comes at you. It's easy because it's the game that most lets you play by reaction rather than positioning and forethought
rolling has been an instant source of iframes since MH1, and was actually stronger than in rise
>rolling
lol
I accept your concession
>hunters are too fast monsters can never touch them, easiest game in the franchise and maybe even world
this was true in base Rise
>monsters are too fast capcom fed them crack and turned monster hunter into god eater, greatsword can never get a charge off
this is true now, with counter bait monster attacks being the newest arms race bullshit
>Anomaly Quests suck.
so does rise
why does long sword need 5 different counters
how is this good gameplay?
Having 5 different counters to think has a higher skill ceiling than spamming 1

Rise never got a fight on the same level as Fatalis
I wasn't really expecting one.
Unfricked Malzeno was cool though
any GS users here? my iceborn loving friend dropped rise and i'm wondering if GS was changed much compared to iceborn

But, I like Rise's Apex Monsters.
I do wish they used a more creative name for them.

>Mfw they really expect you to spend millions of zennis to get the perfect qurio augment skills (without loosing any skills on your set too???) on top of getting a god qurio charm
Are these """meta set""" literally just made for cheaters or something?
of course not, all the speedrunners got their perfect necklaces 100% legit and definitely not from the very obvious editor on fricking Mod Nexus with 10k downloads
:^)
Yeah, no. I dropped all of that the instant I could fit in all the Levels in Defiance that I wanted and never touched it again.

Does Partbreaker make breaking Anomaly weak spots easier?
No. Partbreaker is only really included in that set in particular because you'll get it anyway with Blood Awakening.
>not using mods
>Mfw they really expect you to spend millions of zennis to get the perfect qurio augment skills (without loosing any skills on your set too???) on top of getting a god qurio charm
What the frick else are you going to spend money on?
Getting +1 skill that you want is on the reasonable side for qurio augments. You can also afford to lose skills sometimes on certain armor pieces, it's just not worth bringing up in these set builders
The hardest part of this is probably the charm
>We never got to tour the Capital with Fiorayne and ask the Queen if we can marry her.
Capcom is gay.
I was done with Rise after my one gorillionth Risen Shaggy kill.
Uh I know this might be stupid, but why isnt there any crossplay? Like I would like to play with my friends that got the game on a switch or a ps5...
Is there any hope on getting this?
for rise no, there's a very high chance the next game will have jt
SF6 has crossplay, so the guys at capcom clearly don't lack the experience with it
I imagine it's more to do with Microsoft/sony/nintendo playing ball than capcom's willingness
Will crossplay would be a good thing, you have to keep in mind that the "PC master race" community is full of cheaters and I'm sure Capcom is aware of that fact.
So if they add it in the future, it will be with some shitty anticheat rootkit.
or they will just not care, like they already don't
it might be different if the next monster hunter doubles down on GaaS bullshit and attempts to run for more than a year
I wish she had good doujinshi, it's not fair bros...
Which game would be better to make a huntress in, Rise or World?
>making a huntress
World has Kirin gear for all the troons out there
Either of those is fine. My pessimistic guess is that MH6 will have only male armor designs, as in they won't be that different from each other. And the quest handler will be like that ST6 black gay dude.
obsessed
Creamapi out yet for Rise?
No, sadly you can't use creamapi.
I believe you can use koalageddon or greenluma, some people think they are "more dangerous" than creamapi. I believe some people have actually gotten banned for using greenluma, though I don't know how true that is.
Is World still alive on PC?
For a 5 year old game Its still got a decent playercount. It usually averages the same players if not more as rise, but most people are probably running fatalis
Guiding Lands is based, frick anyone else who says otherwise.
>being able to just chill in a map with your buddies and hunt a variety of monsters spanning almost the entire roster with no downtime in between while making progress towards upgrades

>DBs have 2 (technically 3 but it's really just 2) modes too that you swap in and out of
>swaxe is the same
>it suddenly clicks and I start doing well
the human brain is weird
is there any way to make LS playable again since nerfs and meme ring-circle changes?
circle just dont fricking work in coop and i play with a friend 95% of the time, he outdamages me easily dealing 70%+ of total dmg, only way to catch up is play actual good weapons like GS or SA, switch skills fricking suck too
what do? any builds that can compete with good weapons?
The ring is much better now after the updates, as for builds I don't remember which playstyle benefits the most of elemental but you should consider doing an elemental build
Sacred Sheath does solid damage even solo, and is great for multiplayer since you don't need the counter to level up your aura
The meme ring is slightly more usable since it doesn't go away upon sheathing now, but it is admittedly a bit suffering going for a counter-heavy playstyle in multiplayer. If it's just 2p with you and a friend then it's workable if you want to use it
>can't stand Yomogi because I associate her with the shitty dango buff system
>absolutely despise Chichae because of her creepy uncanny face and her annoying voice lines while I'm sorting through my investigations
I know, I just want to rape both of them.
so if I have this right the switch axe stuff I am learning in the beginning (using axe to charge up the sword, which I then use to get amped) won't matter once I have EE 1-2 and Rapid Morph 3 because then the mainstay DPS combos involve morph->morph->sword double swing->morph->morph
just play the fricking game
holy shit
no shit, dumbfrick. Thanks for the worthless post, let me guess, your janny application was denied?
You okay sperg bro?
Not really, morph combos are great but you won't always be able to use it
too long I am guessing for the quicker monsters
I'm staying in the kingdom. Kamura Village can go suck it
Please bring back underwater
Please bring back underwater
Please bring back underwater
I beg of you.
i'm investigation level 265 and there's still a mystery homie row in my weapon crafting
how do you Black folk play this game forever
I played rise like 300 hours and got bored
Rise is mid. World and most older MH games are peak comf though.
I tried the world demo on PS4 and it sucked
I have no friends to play with
Playing and keeping up with friends helps.
Cuz it's good
same. I find the gameplay of rise nice but the progression is boring. can't see any reason to farm monsters in it. its like exoprimal in a way, fun in short bursts but awful to play for long term.
>getting 300 hours out of a game is bad now
there's still a shitton I haven't done and I don't feel satisfied with what I did in the game
yeah. i had fun the first 100th hours or so but then its sets in that all you do, is hunt the same monster for better gear, with shit drop rate on materials for set gear, only so you can kill the same monster again but 5-10 minutes faster.
isn't this literally the entire monster hunter franchise
im new too the series but it seems to be the case.
i had fun with it. even put another 100 hours on iceborn but there other games i want to play so im not sticking around farming gear for self-satisfaction.
The thing is, while you could grind for the sake of the grind, its better to fight what you want or take the chance to try out other weapon types or improve in any that you are using, people usually end up playing more because each weapons is really different and offer diferent experiences with different monsters, some people even do stuff like roulettes with random weapons and monsters and maybe some other rule.
but then i would have to farm materials for set weapon and armor, so i can get all the right skills.
>Infernal Springs and Forlorn Arena are the best maps for leveling up investigations
>but their BGMs override most monster themes
It's a blessing and a curse. Returning Sunbreak themes are pretty nice, especially Astalos. Returning Rise themes are absolute fricking hot dogshit.
I love monster hunter
but I hate how bad I am at the game
Being bad is the best way to enjoy the game. It best encompasses the david vs goliath feeling and gives a greater sense of victory after a fierce back and forth. The clashing of bone and sinew.
Thats my cope anyway lol.
I bought the stuffed layered weapons set and I hate myself for it
Rise and Sunbreak had incredibly underwhelming event quest rewards because all the good stuff was behind a paywall
Sunbreak's event quests are hell of a lot more rewarding than Rise by a huge margin.
how do I get a nargacuga to zuck my wiener
I bought the pompadour....society has fallen...

For me it's the topknot.
Is that Johnny Bravo?

HA
Is it better to change my weapon often or just stick to one and focus on it?
I mean, I swap between 2-3 Weapons just to prevent burn-out.
just do you
some people go thousands of hours just using the greatsword and some switch around every couple hunts
the game isn't so hard you're forced to specialize or diversify
is world really better than rise
GU and rise are the only monhun I've played and GU was pretty clunky and didn't hold my attention
for the record I fricking despise cutscenes and shit that wastes my time
>is world really better than rise
No
>for the record I fricking despise cutscenes and shit that wastes my time
All of World's are unskippable coupled with over an hour long tutorial before the game finally actually lets you play it.
>is world really better than rise
yes
I think gameplay wise Rise does many things better than world such as a better decoration system, more rounded armor/weapon balance, better overall weapon variety with swappable moves and such and an endgame system that doesn't just have you fight the same 3 elders.
World has a better *feel* to it though. from graphics to sound effects and animations
I do think that World has better hitstun, Hunting Horn is way better, Alatreon and Fatalis are better than any monster in both games, its obviously better looking and the guiding lands as a concept is fun but I do think that its inferior in some important aspects, Sunbreak has a lot more fights that are interesting and make a lot of them viable for endgame, story progression is much better due to less cutscenes no unskippable cutscenes and more focus on doing quests, map design personally feels better to explore and to fight on since world maps could sometimes be too busy visually and the uneven terrain everywhere was a nuisance, armor and weapon design is much better, exclusive mechanics where much better implemented and more interesting to use than its World equivalent, no sieges, weapon moveset is way more customizable with lot of improvements to weapons like Lance, Hammer, Switch Axe, Sword and Shield and etc, if you found GU clunky then World might be for good enough for you since its more similar to Rise than GU, but World does like to waste around your time with padding like track gathering and unskipable cutscenes so your other concern is a valid reason to not want to play it.
>hear about some big overhaul mod for MHW
>check the changelog
>most of the weapon changes are things they took from Rise and tried to explain like they came up with it and the reason for its inclusion on their own
Dude you can just say you liked Surge combo GS, SNS having a guard point into Perfect Rush and HH unsheathing into any note. You don't have to larp as some big developer man that actually designs games
I like the NPCs Ayame and Pharo. Wish they could be followers.
