>Can't take 2 palicos because the maps are designed for you to such from a to b. >Need skill to make bing bugs recharge faster
Absolutely worthless game, they tried to copy 2 of the most soulful games in the series and failed miserably. Unironically everything about rise fricking sucks with exception of maybe the armor and weapons progression which is better than world.
Don’t watch this video, dude is an actual moron who missed the actual “Mainline vs portable”, “Old world vs new world”, “Gen vs gen” conflicts. He commits the cardinal sin of claiming Rise is closer to the older games than World is, showing he’s either brain dead or thinks GU is “old world” when anyone that was around at the could tell you generations received heavy criticism for his much of a departure it was. Worst of all, he’s a gunner, an LBG user at that, meaning I should’ve known better than to give him a second of my time
This. It really shows that they are people who only started playing MH when they bought a Switch or at the very least started with Generations at the tail end of the 3DS' lifecycle.
>rise is what old-school hunters wanted
no it isn't. world was what I wanted as someone who's been playing since 2, and was forever salty it got shoved onto shitty handhelds. It was great looking, high fidelity, slightly more accessible so I could convince my friends to try it, just overall fantastic, 8/10. iceborne brought it up to 9/10.
Why do morons like this fail to understand there's people who hate the direction of both Rise and World? 5th gen sucks. 4th gen is not classic.
Also, portable is fine since F1, F2, FU, and P3rd are better than their console versions and the only argument is for 3U because it has G rank. I don't who these "mainline" morons are who only played 1 and 2 on PS2 then skipped the whole series until World? Sounds like a World gay coping he missed the whole series.
How good was PS2 emulation back in the day? I was considering how people might get their hands on a JP-only release like Dos. Did people import it? Did the PS2 support games from other regions?
>Also, portable is fine since F1, F2, FU, and P3rd are better than their console versions and the only argument is for 3U because it has G rank. Portable 1st, Portable 2nd and Portable 2nd G are all VERY GOOD. But the decline already started with Portable 3rd. It salvaged a lot of Gen 3, but ultimately it still lost some soul compared to 1st and 2nd gen. Then we got GU, which is the "portable" version of 4th gen and it is ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE. It is even worse than Rise. And yea Rise is the "Portable" version of Gen 5 and sucks ass.
I'm glad that Ichinose will never touch an MH game again
put it. World still has Monster Hunter in it, its just that its buried under extremely heavy westernization. Now thanks to the marketing and over half of people starting with World, they expect Monster Hunter to follow in the footsteps of CoD or FIFA, so any experimentation or return to form is seen as bad. The majority of the MH playerbase is now ironically not a fan of Monster Hunter at all, they're a fan of a heavily westernized version of it instead.
world is a hole capcom will never get out of. now that wilds is open world slop, they'll be able to bang them out once a year and fill them up with meaningless open world content. world already had no monsters, no armor sets, and generic weapons, just gotta introduce a tiny amount of new monsters to monster hunter breath of the wild, and hope they don't instantly exhaust the formula like nintendo did with their sloppified zelda. normies were done with the new formula in just one sequel.

>they'll be able to bang them out once a year >Meanwhile, in reality, Wilds has already been in development for years and will be for at least 2 more.
>World still has Monster Hunter in it, its just that its buried under extremely heavy westernization.
Rise quadruples down on every aspect of said buzzword, and then introduces its gimmicks on top of that. So I'm not sure what you're implying with: >so any experimentation or return to form is seen as bad
Almost seems like you're saying Rise is doing the fopposite of what it actually did. What's next, GU is also a "return to form"?
>just like every release before World
Stupid take. MH has always been more or less the same, world was incredible and the peak of all the years of effort, despite flaws. Rise would have been popular if released before world, but world is just too good.
I'm trying really hard to like GU but it just feels worse to play than world and rise. The stiffness doesn't add any meaningful challenge it's just annoying like input delay.
But really the worst part is the god awful ui for making and upgrading gear, the shitty skill ui and above all the FRICKING GATHERING. Anyone who thinks the old gathering was better needs to be hunted down.
I still need to finish the sunbreak story. This guy and Primo look sick. I dropped off after Espinas because i felt like Lance was so OP that I couldn’t lose despite being kinda mediocre as a player, but the new shit that updates introduced look amazing. Will i need to grind MR?
You can fight every monster except Risens at MR 10. So mostly no grinding required, if you want to fight the Risen elder dragons I'd recommend someone else post them for you, their MR requirements are a bit steep
Might be my favorite final boss. My only complaint is that it's the one and only big boss fight in Rise/Sunbreak where having another monster show up to fight it would've actually made perfect sense but it was also the only one where they didn't do that. Malzeno arriving to fight its nemesis would've been rad.
Was all right, very middle of the road as far as big final monsters go but not bad either. Wallshooting shit aside. Narwhal and Umbumshi were abominations though.
I don't like that you're required to bring Fio on the first fight, I'M the protagonist it'S ME get thE FRICK out of here. Also the turret section is annoying but otherwise he's way better than Narwa. 3/5 stars, I don't mind fighting him.
Better than Narwa by a long shot, but he didn't really do much through the whole fight and the wall climb section is pretty annoying. Pretty decent set for being a standard endgame boss though.
I actually forgot he existed. This has never happened to any other "end boss" of any other MonHun.
I don't even recall if he was boring, good, bad, etc. Just complete and total apathy, then I saw your image, which I first thought was some AI slop or chinese MonHun parody, until I spotted the Kushala IG and it clicked.
I legit forgot he existed. been a while since I played rise so I thought malzeno was the actual last boss. Narwa on the other hand was really memorable though, both base and all mother. not entirely for the right reasons, but I'll never forget that fight. Shara still king though
It was the big set piece fight the base game desperately needed, I liked it a lot but it's too gimmicky with gorm knocking himself out by sucking it's own bloodstones.
I always thought the Kut-ku was a perfect first wyvern fight. >obvious rage mode indicator >obvious weakened state indicator >an intuitive weakness to a tool that can exploited in combat
They never bring this guy back, but I've always loved him.
Tough and (sometimes) fast but fair with good openings and maybe a fun gimmick
Teostra, White Monoblos, Zinogre (NOT STYGIAN), Duramboros, Chammy all come to mind
world is my first monster hunter game. i regret not checking the series out before this and am looking forward to playing other mh games
im stuck in world right now with rajin or whatever that fricking monkeys name is. im a lancegay and it's just too slow for me to get around him
but im still enjoying it because it's making me rethink how im playing
figure I'll try rise next or something I dunno
Play 3U and 4U, lance is very enjoyable in both games
>unskippable cutscenes >can't get friends into hunts until after the leader has watched all these unskippable cutscenes >tons of "go sniff tracks for a while to fill a bar" investigations before you can proceed with quests >some annoying walk and talk missions >shit layered armor system
World has lots of problems despite it being cool and fun.
I like World's presentation but it really is indefensible how much unskippable stuff there is before you can just hunt monsters, and needing to find the monster in each story mission before you can SOS is super annoying if you're trying tor play through it with friends. Really hope Capcom's aware of those issues and fix them for Wilds
Can I skip the cutscenes? I've been playing for one hour and I'm sure 55 minutes have been cutescenes and walk from point a to point b interactive. cutscenes.
I remember playing Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii using the fricking garbage wiimote+numchuck setup and wondering what the frick to do because the game told me frick all, and years later its the exact opposite with insane handholding and constant cutscene
world is my first monster hunter game. i regret not checking the series out before this and am looking forward to playing other mh games

I think it's fine. I get what they were going for though, trying to make it sound more oriental. Even for World, I know they were trying to go for the big epic orchestrated pieces to fit the WHOLE NEW WORLD thing but it killed a lot of the energy the old themes had.

>I get what they were going for though, trying to make it sound more oriental.
nope, iirc from the main composer himself, he wanted to make you feel very strong emotional intensity, that's where the vocals comes from. > big epic orchestrated pieces to fit the WHOLE NEW WORLD thing
from the same person, worlds soundtrack is a lot more subtle but ends up stronger with emphasis on instruments in comparison.
the reason rise's soundtrack is generally worse and the audio mixing is worse than the original "oldgen" themes is unironically covid making it hard for the orchestra, don't think it's bad but it's laughable how much "punch" and impact the music has when comparing it to older titles, it just feels weak.

I want to add to this
listen to how bad instruments and mixing sound in comparison to 4s theme.
some original rise tracks are great but the one they keep remixing just falls flat, maybe they're good in a vacuum.
i bought the game last week with the sale >can't skip cutscenes
this is my only gripe with the game really. picking hammer at the start was a mistake because every other weapon ive tried so far feels worse.
>this game that more people bought on steam has more steam players than this game that fewer players bought on steam
Why is this so significant that a shitposter has to spam it for 2 years straight?
Because it’s something that practically never happens in gaming? It’d be like if the new COD game has 10x fewer players than the last one. It’s notable.
cod games get released on the same hardware and are meant to replace the one that came before it
rise was released for a different system and has different gameplay aims that don't appeal to pc players as much as what world did. both games do different things and thats the beautiful thing about this series. worldtards want every game to be *their* preferred type of game. but the actual fans appreciate all the different styles the series tries.
why would they not lol? it probably took 0 effort and means everyone else can play the game too
The cope is actually unreal lmao.
this is just how the series has been for forever. the hubris worldies have to come into a long and esteemed series, play 2 (two) games from it and act like they know what's best is very embarrassing
I dunno man, I really think the Switch is popular enough that anyone who really wanted Rise would have just got it for that instead of waiting for the PC port.
as a long time player, rise is better. but most people on pc have only played world and don't have the context to appreciate the experimentation in rise, since the classic MH gameplay loop is still fresh to them. also, rise is literally a switch port and therefore is going to much less appealing compared to the shiny nice graphics in world
Been having this thread a lot, but I've never gotten to say my piece, not that it matters. Rise is so soulless compared to World, it's so hard to get back into it because of that. They literally took steps backwards because of the Switch. It's not a bad game, it's still Monster Hunter, it's just that it's a lesser version of it.
>open world after not touching rise or world in over a year >world feels kinda off, tinkering with settings trying to get things to sit right >can't seem to find the training area in Seliana >can't figure out certain things with that, just throw myself into a hunt >don't die or anything, just feels kinda meh >Hop off, switch to Rise >have to figure out a few things yet but navigation in town is pretty straightforward with the fast travel >go into hunt, can't remember the wirebug out of a knockback thing, die to that once since I decided to try out Primeval Malezeno as the first hunt back >figure that out, get it all done and have a good time >grind out some more anomaly stuff/frick around for several hours, weapons feel good, combat flows
TL;DR different strokes for different folks, wish World had some of the Rise optimizations
No, I played a good deal of world, enjoyed it, wasn't feeling it last time I played, nor was I able to find the training area (assume it's through the house in Seliana, or it doesn't exist, could be the case) in the minute or so I tried. Decided to play Rise since I had played it more recently and wanted to try out some of the newer stuff, had a fun time, wished they added some of the menu option travel to location to World. World is plenty "casualized" with mantles and a billion other things, so your argument is kinda dumb. I'm not saying one is bad, unlike you, dumb spastic.
okay moron, sorry that the city in World is not designed with traversal in mind, nor is there an obvious link to a training area from the Hub/Weapon Smithy, where one would, naturally, assume they'd build it.
>I AM TOO BLIND ON BOTHS EYES TO FIND THE TRAINING HUB AND AM LITERALLY TO ADHD TO TAKE 10 SECONDS TO GOOGLE IT >IT'S NOT ME WHO IS STUPID >IT'S THE GAME!
>no signs anywhere in the town >prefer to play the game >see if there's a map in the UI (negative) >just go enter a hunt since it functionally serves the same purpose >don't feel the need to google it to find out >say this is a minor gripe where it'd be nice if they added it in Wilds >somehow this means I'm implying the game is stupid/have ADHD because I wanted to figure it out ingame/via context clues
You should stop talking.

Congratulations.
You took longer to reply to my post than it would take a NORMAL person to find the training hub.
>Risegays can't play World because it's not on Switch
Then they'll play it on any of the other platforms, since Rise is on all the platforms World is on. Just looking at the sales, it's pretty obvious most Rise players played World.
>it's pretty obvious most Rise players played World
It's not obvious at all. There's no indication that the players who picked up Rise on Switch went on to play World on any other platform because there's no data to show those players own more than the platform they bought the game on. You can't make that assumption.
No, because of double dipping. You don't just have to consider people who bought both games, but also people who got a game twice after it came to other platforms. I am personally three of those unique purchases. Even considering the fact that I got both, there's an extra Rise purchase in there since I got it on Switch first and later Steam. Ironically, that leaves an extra Rise purchase on Switch that doesn't have an equivalent World purchase on another platform, which was my original point in a roundabout way. I'm not saying there's a lot of people who did exactly that, but I am saying there's no extrapolating that data from total sales alone.

And there's no confirmation that Rise players never touched world out of some "don't have anything that can play it", which is the crux of your whole argument.

It's far, FAR more likely than those 13.6 million players being completely new to the series and have no access to the other games
Motherfricker was my first filter and I practiced against him so many times and it was the first fight where it got drilled into my head to use fricking items. Piscines ended up being my favorite monster group
>all my fiver frens got the shit kicked out of them by Barioth >my ass already got walled by him in tri so at this point I was just waltzing around him like it was rehearsed
I've done the "Ode to Destruction" quest so many times for Great Spiritvein Gems that I've basically tried out every weapon on it and now know its moves, The spike dives are still a bit unpredictable though.
Love fighting this giga homie like you wouldn't believe. Both versions walled me so hard that I pretty much learned to dance around his hitboxes with hammer. My other hunter friends now ask me for help whenever they have to fight him.
pretty sure this is my fastest monster kill across all games
sns just shits on this guy through and through and I had to farm him a lot for water builds
I wish they could balance the movement mechanics more, at this rate it feels like we're less than 3 games away from being able to infinitely fly around and shoot energy beams.
Favorite maps? For me, it's >Coral Highlands >Ancestral Steppe >Hoarfrost Reach
I actually like World's more out-there maps. I hope they keep making maps that are as cool as Coral Highlands.
Coral highlands is a total mess imo but I can see how you can find it interesting and likeable. It gets significantly better 20 hunts later when you learn the layout and can navigate it without feeling like a complete moron. That also goes for the Ancient forest but the upper part of that is unsaveable.
I've almost never had much issue learning how to navigate maps like Coral Highlands and Ancient forest to begin with. I just have an autistic sense of direction, so I could never really comment on whether the map designs were good or bad to begin with.
The opposite, actually. There's been a lot of World players thanks to the Wilds announcement and #ReturntoWorld. He's just cashing in on its recent return to popularity after shitting on it 5 years ago.
There is literally a marketing campaign going on for the new MH game which includes #ReturntoWorld combined with a big sale. That Youtuber is just cashing in on it
i didnt buy rise because i pirated and emulated the switch version. if a PC version was released side by side with the switch version i would had bought it. simple as.
Nergigante is a decent elder dragon in my eyes solely because he doesn't have frick you random areas of the floor are lava moments.
I'm looking at you Kirin you frick.
>be me >have 8ft wiener >every time it awakens all blood drains from my head and i must operate on pure instinct >play rise >hammer is literally perfect >i rise >pure flow state, instinctual unga, reach enlightenment
great game
Ight frickers. Dual Blade homosexual here.
Getting back into MHW to play with friends and play the Iceborne dlc.
Which weapons should i use, I'm thinking of rotating between maybe four or five weapons.
Right now I'm enjoying the switch axe a lot. It is a real fun weapon.
Any other recommendations?
hunting horn in world is literally the best its ever been
switch axe in world is almost perfection, ignoring ZSD spam
hammer is essentially the same but with extra flair
GS is changed drastically but holy shit if it doesn't feel weighty and punchy as frick
>hunting horn in world is literally the best its ever been
GU HH is 100 times better, double notes are way better than the moronic rectials of world (also nerfed MVs to enforce spin2win)
>GU HH is 100 times better
which style?
stronger doesn't mean better, HH having shit MVs and a moveset making you work hard for damage in world was awesome, that's not to mention how much fun it is to play.
the MV reductions are partially offset by the self improvement ATK boost and shockwaves (kinda, shockwaves not being affected by crit&sharpness is moronic)
the actually unforgivable thing is earplugs S and wind pressure encore not applying HG, making them utterly fricking useless
coming back to world now and the DLC but I'm over here wondering what's the best light bow gun to carry me through it... also I want to try great sword but it looks so slow
The only things I like more about rise is that most weapons have unique skins for every monster, and that I like Khezu and some of the other returning monsters.
World has a campaign going #ReturnToWorld or some shit, and since people are moronic sheep they listened.
The numbers will drop soon enough and Rise will take the top since its the better game.
It's definitely fun and one of my favorite MH games, but it's weird to think about how an ultimate version of a game only added 2 new monsters, and one was fricking Plesioth
I want to try out MHW but I really dislike what I've read about the clutch claw mechanic, so I was thinking about just buying and playing through the base game without Iceborne. Now I found out that apparently there were a lot of balance changes since Iceborne that affect the base game as well even if you don't own the expansion. How noticeable are those balance changes? If I play through the base game without the clutch claw and without the new weapon skills, will it be significantly harder than the base game used to be?
yeah but is it still enjoyable to play the current base game without clutch claw and without the new weapon skills or are the monsters now balanced around those new mechanics to the point where it wouldn't be very enjoyable to play without them?
you can mod out clutch claw shit
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/3452
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/4103
There's 2 main reasons imo. First, elements like Rampage are just not fun. Second, the multiplayer sucks. I just went back to play rise again. So many good things about the game but it's simple and easily laid out like MHW. You can just click a button and get present with dozens of specific quests and monsters. You can see how long a quest is been going on for. It's quick and easy. They built the Rise MP for the Nintendo and it doesn't carry over at all for PC.
The simplest explanation is that the games aren't for you. Not in the annoying Ganker way, just in a general sense; there's no use in forcing yourself to enjoy something.
if you're playing world, simply walking and healing beats most monsters. you also have infinite resources, so you don't have to play well either. don't feel overwhelmed, most systems in monster hunter are superfluous and don't add much.
>want to try a different weapon >oh looks like I need to do some low rank hunts for this one item >hmm looks like I have 25 of all the other ingredients, I wonder why that is >oh it's because the rarest ingredient for this level 4 weapon is like 1% >you can only increase you chances with investigations >still after an investigation it doesn't drop >level 4 weapon >wasted an hour
ah yes... now I remember
moron here. I tried using FUComplete to patch Portable 2nd G from nip into english. And some quests, as well as seemingly random dialogue boxes are still in nip occasionally, nothing game ruining, but I like to read the text. How fix?
Because I read that the way I tried was the way to go for the best FU experience, maybe not so much localization in the translations? I suppose I'll just swap to an english one, then.
Fighting this thing using the switch axe feels like cheating because I'll just sword mode exclusively since axe mode bounces anywhere I hit. How does one fight it with a weapon that's actually capable of bouncing?
Its gonna be completely different to both World and Rise, some open world shit. This will cause Chernobyl levels of asshurt from Worldbabby "veterans". I look forward to both playing it and the sperging out
Which mon probably tastes the best, and why is it Rajang? The sinful taste of almost-person, with the satisfaction of eating a total butthole of a mon.
Which mon probably tastes the best, and why is it Rajang? The sinful taste of almost-person, with the satisfaction of eating a total butthole of a mon.
Its not the taste its the toughness of the meat. Fat is what really tastes good so if you have muscle and fat itll taste just fine but the meat will be tough to chew. But generally people are accustomed to fat lazy cow meat. So you keep the cows from using their muscles keep em still and keep feeding them til its slaughter time.
Base rise was a rushed mess, so rushed they had to release the end of the "main story" as a title update and rampages are worse than guiding lands ( And guiding lands is GARBAGE )
Gotta love how people keep holding rise to this standard despite not being that way for 2-3 years now.

That wasn't the point, moron. Rise is exclusively held to a standard that it should be judged not by how it is now, but by how it was on launch day. However, nobody judges any other MH by how it was on launch.

I just find it funny that even when you try to talk shit on World you make Rise sound even worse is all.
You were forced to watch World's Cutscenes that took longer than a Rampage mission.

And those still weren't as awful as the rampages.
Also "Several" more like only a few. Nothing in World is as bad as the forced Rampages. Nothing. The cutscenes have the sin of being mostly boring to sit through, the Rampages have the greatest sin of being god awful to PLAY through.

That's 3 too many. One Rampage is honestly worse then the big living volcano shit in World.
It's funny how people have been confusing the base games with the Ultimate versions.
World was alright, they added a bunch of monsters through updates probably to try spread everything out which resulted in hunters fighting a bunch of monsters in maxxed out gear which made everything easier.
The worst base MH game is Tri by far.
Not only does it have the least amount of big mosters but it even scrapped some weapons.
Rise was a lot of fun, quite good and had some great ideas (switch skills should be a permanent feature in the series) but overall was a small step back from world in like 80% of the the game.
No Wire Bugs
No Silk Binds
No Spirit birds
No Wyvern Riding
Less focus on counter/parry gameplay. Lance and Charge Blade are the counter/parry weapons, stop making every single weapon some autistic Sekiro weapon. Great Sword has no reason being a counter weapon.
No Clutch claw
No footprint huffing
Tobi-Kodachi to be real and be my boyfriend.
clutch claw and the updated movesets were okay (just 'okay', nothing greater), it's the tenderize/wallbang shit that got old real fast
love me some lance counter-claw or the diving claw from IG
I don't get it. Who's forcing people to play rampages all day long and nothing else? You get three forced rampages, anything more than that and its you doing it to yourself.
Zorah had me climb a top of someone's back and beat them in the head
Rampages had be play a shitty Bloons TD6 with shit UI and the most unfun mechanics known to the entire franchise
bought mhw for me and my bro
i read... mixed opinions regarding the co-op aspect of the game
apparently story missions are a pain because players are locked out of cutscenes or something like that
is it really jarring? do i need to progress through the game on my own before getting into coop properly or something?
help a brother out and have a nice year broskis this will be the one
For the campaign, it's jarring because you'll be doing the same quests twice as progress in your buddies world does not progress yours.
Buddy 1 loads up his quest, you can't go with him since he didn't watch the cutscene. So he goes in, watches the slop and the shoots out a SOS flare so you can join. You join and clear the quest, but now you need to progress so you do it all over agian
You know the secret to that is everyone play the quest until the SOS Flare prompt shows up, then everyone quits, then everyone files into a single instance of the quest, right? It skips the part before the SOS Flare and everyone gets credit.
I didn't know the secret tech. I played solo because the only people that played Monster Hunter with me swore MHW was an abomination to the series that lead to the ruination of the franchise due to the modernized controls and larger demographic appeal.
If you complete the story on your own the worst that'll happen is you'll have access to gear that's beyond earlier story parts so you might go in and effortlessly demolish a monster for him and he doesn't get to do much. Even if you go in with appropriate gear you'll still have more experience than him, but at least he'll be able to play if you're not instantly stunlocking the monster to death.
The good part if doing it on your own first is that he'll be able to progress with you without having to do double the amount of quests because you'll have progressed past it already.
My group’s just been joining via SOS flare and still getting progress without having to redo missions as you describe, but maybe it’s because we all play individually till we get past the cutscene before grouping up
It’s a pain, but not terrible. Essentially there’s a trigger point after you see a cutscene that allows you to call a SOS flare, so essentially all players need to play till they get that prompt (usually after a monster’s intro cutscene), then abandon the mission to redo the mission/join whoever wants to be host and launches a flare. Just be aware that you can get randos if you SOS flare, but feel like there’d be a way to disable that.
This is true.
MHgays just got the consoles for MH.
It wasn't until World was announced to be multiplat that MH was dragged down into consolewar homosexualry
Which is pretty ironic considering the games have released exclusively on one platform before that.
Did people forget there was actually a monster to fight after 15 minutes of firing turrets and cannons in a Rampage? Zorah is also 15 minutes of firing turrets and cannons (with limited ammo) but you also hit some rocks on its back. It's just like the Mohran fights from 3 and 4.
>Make cool ass fire lion >most threatening attack is him just running up to you to do one of his ACTUAL attacks >getting hit by his run up does more damage than 90% of his real moves and stuns you in 2 hits
I don't remember Teostra being this annoying pre-world
>Make cool ass fire lion >most threatening attack is him just running up to you to do one of his ACTUAL attacks >getting hit by his run up does more damage than 90% of his real moves and stuns you in 2 hits

Fricking queers. The fight is great if you’re remotely good, stop saying shit is bad because you’re used to easier gameplay
>teo in 4U >moves at mhach speed >completely unpredictable behavior >run up does insane damage
i agree with you hes fine everywhere else but this is just shit. FUs teo is also good but hes kind of a jobber once you learn you can headlock the fricker
>Finally finished transitioning from the dipshit who keeps carting to Fatalis over and over and ruining the hunt twenty minutes in for the veterans, into being one of the veterans who watches some dipshit carting to Fatalis over and over and ruining my hunt twenty minutes in
Yeah, I'm probably going to give up and start doing that after a few more failures. I just think the fight is more fun with a team and also some very kind player kept joining my SOS's for like eight attempts in a row until he finally got me through my first run, and I want to pay the favour forward to some other scrub
What long sword should I use early High Rank in MH3U? I got the Jhen Mohran longsword and it gets to yellow sharpness after hitting the monster like 10 times.
thats literally the best LS in high rank until brachy though, make a set with razor sharp. wroggi has it and looks great, ideally azure rath but thats pretty late into high rank
Alright, I'll work on that, thanks anon. I saw the next upgrade for the Jhen longsword was pretty great, but it's after Brachy.
Do the Brachy weapons just straight up invalidate all the other weapons until post-game G rank?
>Do the Brachy weapons just straight up invalidate all the other weapons until post-game G rank?
pretty much. the deviljho longsword is better at the beginning of g rank though since it only requires a conquerors seal to upgrade it to the g rank version and it has natural white sharpness
>Assmongler beat the mon the game tells you to run from >proves that World is piss easy >somehow Ganker Worldsperm are WORSE than him at the game
fricking exposed
its low rank, everything hes done so far is a tutorial. The only thing hes proved is that journalists and people who were unwilling to understand the game's mechanics get filtered easily, which we already knew.
he did die to anja, multiple times. But even then anja isnt a wall but more of a skill check. If you know the basics of the game (which for GS means knowing how to TCS) then hes not hard to beat. If he actually plays past nerg into high rank he'll get bodied a lot more, especially with GS
first high budget console release after being trapped on underpowered hardware for forever.
tendies can piss and shit all they want but turns out graphix actually do matter to a lot of people.
Can someone explain Guiding Lands to me? I just unlocked it and read all the tutorials they shoved in my face but I didn't really understand most of it or what the point of it is.
Monsters appear in it. The more you hunt monsters from a given biome, the more that biome levels up, and other biomes level down. The higher a biome's level, the rarer the monsters spawn. It's an endless hunt. The Guiding Lands is a region specifically only for the player Hunter, it is your personal playground.
Why is Rise's armor upgrades so much worse then World's? Like World's was already shittier then the old games, why did Rise have to make it even MORE grindy and shit?
>most fans played both >imagining these World-only slow fricks trying to fight a Scorned Magnamalo
lmao, makes me giggle. And you KNOW they never beat Fatalis either.
Gonna pick up Rise on PC. Any opinions on a new weapon to play? I beat it with LS and Hammer on Switch. I'm more interested in how fun something is (interesting switch skills, ability to use the whole moveset instead of just spamming one move, how easy it is to get core skills during progression) than meta placement. Is SA fun this game?
Rise actually has one of the best versions of LS and it's definitely one of the weapons that utilizes its entire kit. But if you wanna switch, SA is a good choice. >how easy it is to get core skills during progression
You get the quests to unlock alternate switch skills after unlocking high rank hub quests which is pretty easy to get to and then more when you start Sunbreak along with the ability to set 2 different skillsets and swap between them.
Lance. You get to use pokes or thrusting leap loops or charged slams and they're all so close in damage the 'meta' of trusting leaps doesn't matter. You can mix up all the attacks as you like.
Good silkbinds that are better against certain matchups, counter is fun, etc.
You already played hammer and LS, so of what is left:
-BD is spamming demonflight into drill over and over
-SA is loop combos zzzzzzzz
-CB has two meta play styles but they're both kind of boring and Rise fricked guard points up
-GS is GS
-Gunlance is spamming Blast Dash and full burst over and over. Need to move? Blast. Need to iframe? Blast. Need to attack? Blast.
-SnS - fun as frick, most satisfying counter in the game but you better be good with it because Metsu is a LOT of SnS' damage. You will use the entire moveset except for Perfect Rush, though. Git gud with backhops.
-IG aerial is not fun for me personally because they gave every monster 50 foot tall hitboxes and the most damage is grounded Tetraseal spamming which locks you in place for 10 years. It's almost boring as frick spamming one move.
-HH lol
-Ranged weapons lol
>-Gunlance is spamming Blast Dash and full burst over and over
Not everyone uses braindead Normal spam.
Guard Reload is great for standing your ground during poke/shell loops and Wyrmstake head sniping with Guard Edge is coom
it needs to played like DB and SnS where you make up for lower damage by being on the mon 24/7. You have a shield, but the less you use it the better. Counters should handle all defense needs.
I think Rise was meh, I used mods to make it more bearable.
I'm currently play the MH3U All-in-pack and I'm having a blast, shame the graphics are less real in 3U comparing to Tri
it's pretty easy to save transfer, If you start again start with a dlc injected save so you can get access to event quests. Online is still pretty lively on ryujinx if you still wanna play online too.
>Monster Hunter thread
Monster Hunter threads should be banned. They're just console war threads. Honestly, the impression I get from MH threads is that these games are bad because nobody discusses them. Meanwhile Armored Core and Dragon's Dogma threads go along just fine.
Monster Hunter died with GU. World and Rise are shitty games trampling on the corpse. I fricking hate that console war homosexualry became the boogeyman to explain any criticism towards world when it came out when XX was already getting hate for destroying the series
I love MH and enjoyed Rise and World about equally but if I had to choose between the two I can't think why anyone would choose world other than graphics and morons being able to mash through it. Am I missing something? The flintstones aesthetic is terrible too.
I don't like it because it waters down weapons' identities, and the base moves are made worse to push the switch skills which makes your weapon feel shittier until you unlock them.
>what if we like, made the game worse by introducing these dumb bird things that make your health, stamina, attack, and defense but made it so your default health and stamina are dogshit even if you eat food?
This alone was a major turn-off for me in Rise and Sunbreak.
>made it so your default health and stamina are dogshit even if you eat food
You get the standard 150/150 if you eat. It just takes up less space on the bar.
Cope harder, its the truth and you know it. They balanced the game around the birds otherwise they wouldn't be there. Its not a matter of needing them or not, the devs wanted you to run around and get them and in doing so made the game significantly worse.
According to the devs the birds exist to give bad players an optional boost, good players are supposed to go straight to the monster
The rainbow bird was a mistake though and completely fricks up this dynamic, and makes arena fights way easier than they ought to be

>According to the devs the birds exist to give bad players an optional boost >he says, lying through his teeth like the homosexual he is
>the majority of Rise's playerbase bought the game on Switch and didn't change platforms when it went multiplat >Rise runs just fine on Switch >World runs like dogshit on consoles >you can't see playercounts on anything but steam because Devs want to avoid the concept of interest spiraling, led by morons like OP
Are there any good defensive options for switch axe in world besides the backstep moves and evading? Miss being able to guard or tackle through with GS, SA just feels flashier but worse.
I don't really like the combat in World, there's no real pacing to it, attacks have long windups and weak tracking but low recovery in between so the monster is just constantly doing shitty, low-threat attacks instead of alternating between fast, dangerous attacks and windows of opportunity to get your hits in.
You've got to be a huge wienersucker to defend rise tbh. No wonder it has like 60% refund rate after it tried riding on world's coattails and everyone saw how bad it was.
It's funny how Ganker is the only place on the net that still shills for Rise (while not even playing the game) when the whole WORLD goes back to ACTUALLY play Monster Hunter.
Eric, 20k people playing a 2 year old PC game (3 if we count it's real release) is not bad. You're fricking delusional with your consolewar homosexualry and depression and just make a new year's resolution to kys
And Tri. And 4. And Generations. All the Nintendo ones are bad. Only the ones that have been on a Sony system are any good. Funny how that works, isn't it?
>And Tri. And 4. And Generations
This is unironically true. Yes. >All the Nintendo ones are bad
No. MH stories 1 and 2 are good. I'm still mad that we didn't get all the content for the first game in the west.
I like Styles, I like Oils, I like Arts, I like underwater combat, I like Switch Skills, I like Dogs, I like Drop-in-Drop-out Multiplayer.
I like more weapons having counters but not every fricking weapon, I like aspects of the clutch claw but hate its over-centralization of IB, I like being able to access items for a set period at the beginning of a hunt because I'm moronic and often forget to change shit around but being able to endlessly restock is dumb.
I don't like Spirit Birds, I don't like Dango, I don't like giga health bloating, I don't like decos or decofarming.
I am ambivalent about Rampages.
>I like Styles, I like Oils, I like Arts, I like underwater combat, I like Switch Skills, I like Dogs, I like Drop-in-Drop-out Multiplayer.
You don't like Monster Hunter. Go to DMC or whatever shit series that is already dead
>there's an actual, factual reason to badmouth rise >in the past 30 billion threads noone has mentioned it >makes me wonder if the people flaming this consolewar nonsense are not good enough at the game to know what it is
World is bussan fr
hey rise actually jumped up 10,000 players more it's not completely dead.
Though I'm playing Iceborne right now.
Not surprised. Rise is soulless.
But they added le hekken pupperino dodge coin companion. Don't you want to ride you Shiba buddy around to do hook shots?
>when underage worldies don't know companion pets have been in the series since the very first game
the fricking state of worldies.
>MH1
>companions
nice to expose yourself tendie, companions only became a thing in FU, 6 games after the first one
>Can't take 2 palicos because the maps are designed for you to such from a to b.
would you like to try again in English?
>You can't take two palicos because the maps are designed for you to go from point a to b.
Thank you for reminding me to proofread my post.
no worries
Rise is not World. People who started with World expected more World and got something entirely different, just like every release before World
You go into a zone and hunt monstars. What's so different that world fans would be turned off by it
I shut the video off instantly when he said that people have long awaited voice acting for hunters
>he said that people have long awaited voice acting for hunters
This can't be real.
WE DIDN'T GATEKEEP HARD ENOUGH
Don’t watch this video, dude is an actual moron who missed the actual “Mainline vs portable”, “Old world vs new world”, “Gen vs gen” conflicts. He commits the cardinal sin of claiming Rise is closer to the older games than World is, showing he’s either brain dead or thinks GU is “old world” when anyone that was around at the could tell you generations received heavy criticism for his much of a departure it was. Worst of all, he’s a gunner, an LBG user at that, meaning I should’ve known better than to give him a second of my time
I enjoy rise but holy frick, I hate people who consider generations/X "oldschool monster hunter"
This. It really shows that they are people who only started playing MH when they bought a Switch or at the very least started with Generations at the tail end of the 3DS' lifecycle.
>RISE IS WHAT OLD SCHOOL MONSTER HUNTER FANS WANT
the amount of times I have heard this sentiment
>Portable
>Jump in, jump out multiplayer
>Japanese theme
It is. Rise is more old school than generations, for sure.
the kamura village theme was so bad and not monster hunter.
should've said elgado instead because that feels like proper monster hunter.
being japanese looking isnt old school MH you moron, literally only p3rd was like that and not to the dumb degree that rise is
That's bullshit and you know it.
Yes anon I’m going to spend 17 minutes of my life watching some random guy with no viewers.
>it's scared
You lost
>lol who cares about what this popular streamer guys said
>lol who cares about some guy with no views said
Make up your mind already
I’ve got some wild news for you anon. I don’t care about either.
Funny, that's what I said about MonHun in general.
Decent video. Puts into words that worldgays only like world and will only ever like world.
>rise is what old-school hunters wanted
no it isn't. world was what I wanted as someone who's been playing since 2, and was forever salty it got shoved onto shitty handhelds.
I don't who these "mainline" morons are who only played 1 and 2 on PS2 then skipped the whole series until World? Sounds like a World gay coping he missed the whole series.
4U is classic, frick you Black person.
Frick off homosexual
Never, i’ll keep showing up in these threads and posting about 4U to spite you.
weird how all of those shitty games are miles better than world, strange.
Not even Tri is classic, 3DStard
Pretty much as
put it. World still has Monster Hunter in it, its just that its buried under extremely heavy westernization. Now thanks to the marketing and over half of people starting with World, they expect Monster Hunter to follow in the footsteps of CoD or FIFA, so any experimentation or return to form is seen as bad. The majority of the MH playerbase is now ironically not a fan of Monster Hunter at all, they're a fan of a heavily westernized version of it instead.
>rise
>return to form
jesus christ
Experimental or return to form will be disliked by the modern MH audience who wants the series to behave like CoD or FIFA.
MH is literally Japan's equivalent of CoD.
world is a hole capcom will never get out of. now that wilds is open world slop, they'll be able to bang them out once a year and fill them up with meaningless open world content. world already had no monsters, no armor sets, and generic weapons, just gotta introduce a tiny amount of new monsters to monster hunter breath of the wild, and hope they don't instantly exhaust the formula like nintendo did with their sloppified zelda. normies were done with the new formula in just one sequel.
>they'll be able to bang them out once a year
>Meanwhile, in reality, Wilds has already been in development for years and will be for at least 2 more.
>rise
>return to form
>World still has Monster Hunter in it, its just that its buried under extremely heavy westernization.
Rise quadruples down on every aspect of said buzzword, and then introduces its gimmicks on top of that. So I'm not sure what you're implying with:
>so any experimentation or return to form is seen as bad
Almost seems like you're saying Rise is doing the fopposite of what it actually did. What's next, GU is also a "return to form"?
>just like every release before World
Stupid take. MH has always been more or less the same, world was incredible and the peak of all the years of effort, despite flaws. Rise would have been popular if released before world, but world is just too good.
Of course the core gameplay loop stays the same, but every game interprets it differently, thus resulting in a distinct iteration every time.
Thinly veiled console warring aside, what's your opinion on the Gorm?
Good monster, the wall climb part is kinda shit though. Compare it to Gogmazios where the artillery parts felt a lot more engaging
Now that you mention Gog, he always felt like Gogmazios 2.0 to me
it's boring and shitty. Amatsu, on the other hand, crazy fight
>“Monsta is… el Diablo!”
Japs should stay away from western history and religion
I still need to finish the sunbreak story. This guy and Primo look sick. I dropped off after Espinas because i felt like Lance was so OP that I couldn’t lose despite being kinda mediocre as a player, but the new shit that updates introduced look amazing. Will i need to grind MR?
You can fight every monster except Risens at MR 10. So mostly no grinding required, if you want to fight the Risen elder dragons I'd recommend someone else post them for you, their MR requirements are a bit steep
Gainsgolem is fun, except the mandatory turret sections. I definitely like him more than Narwa and Ibushi, however.
>no more rampages
>still include boss with forced ballista phases
one step forward, with the following foot cast in a cement boot
it wouldn't be a capcom game otherwise
Might be my favorite final boss. My only complaint is that it's the one and only big boss fight in Rise/Sunbreak where having another monster show up to fight it would've actually made perfect sense but it was also the only one where they didn't do that. Malzeno arriving to fight its nemesis would've been rad.
I was holding out for an Archangel Gaismagorm or some sort of powered up version at least. Sadly, they seem to neglect the story final bosses.
Better game is better.
Pretty decent set for being a standard endgame boss though.
kino
on par with 2nd form Shara to me
Who?
I actually forgot he existed. This has never happened to any other "end boss" of any other MonHun.
I don't even recall if he was boring, good, bad, etc. Just complete and total apathy, then I saw your image, which I first thought was some AI slop or chinese MonHun parody, until I spotted the Kushala IG and it clicked.
Rise as a whole gives me a similar feeling.
Not a big fan, especially of the bits where you need to shoot it down. As far as last bosses go it's pretty low tier. Ahtal Ka beint peak.
Boring and forgetable like Xeno. But wasn't improved like with Safi.
Kind of a whatever fight, but the music made up for it.
I legit forgot he existed. been a while since I played rise so I thought malzeno was the actual last boss. Narwa on the other hand was really memorable though, both base and all mother. not entirely for the right reasons, but I'll never forget that fight. Shara still king though
I didn't like how both it and the two horny dragons in base game had that freaky mouth. Malzeno is cool though, liked his move set and design.
Aside from the turret stuff, rad as hell. Amatsu and P Malenzo are better fights though.
It was the big set piece fight the base game desperately needed, I liked it a lot but it's too gimmicky with gorm knocking himself out by sucking it's own bloodstones.
Almost like World has better atmosphere, visuals, and gameplay
Nice
MH deserves love
Wilds will be fun I'm sure
Damn, this game is fun and addictive.
Damn graphics are ugly as hell tho. Seriously what the frick is wrong with them?
This was a screenshot from before I changed my anti-aliasing settings, it does look weird here.
you need to use the high res texture pack and turn off the volumetric shading to make world look good
What makes a good monster?
I always thought the Kut-ku was a perfect first wyvern fight.
>obvious rage mode indicator
>obvious weakened state indicator
>an intuitive weakness to a tool that can exploited in combat
They never bring this guy back, but I've always loved him.
Tough and (sometimes) fast but fair with good openings and maybe a fun gimmick
Teostra, White Monoblos, Zinogre (NOT STYGIAN), Duramboros, Chammy all come to mind
Play 3U and 4U, lance is very enjoyable in both games
Going back to world after Rise was my first one. I love the maps but when will these townspeople shut the frick up and just let me play the videogame.
That's the major gripe with World
The cinematic garbage is boring
>unskippable cutscenes
>can't get friends into hunts until after the leader has watched all these unskippable cutscenes
>tons of "go sniff tracks for a while to fill a bar" investigations before you can proceed with quests
>some annoying walk and talk missions
>shit layered armor system
World has lots of problems despite it being cool and fun.
I like World's presentation but it really is indefensible how much unskippable stuff there is before you can just hunt monsters, and needing to find the monster in each story mission before you can SOS is super annoying if you're trying tor play through it with friends. Really hope Capcom's aware of those issues and fix them for Wilds
Can I skip the cutscenes? I've been playing for one hour and I'm sure 55 minutes have been cutescenes and walk from point a to point b interactive. cutscenes.
there's a mod that lets you skip cutscenes, yeah
You can't LOL
>just mod it out bro
Can't mod put the forced walk-and-talk or fart-sniffing "quests" though
I remember playing Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii using the fricking garbage wiimote+numchuck setup and wondering what the frick to do because the game told me frick all, and years later its the exact opposite with insane handholding and constant cutscene
Yes you are realizing world is a AAA playstation style walk and talkathon
world is my first monster hunter game. i regret not checking the series out before this and am looking forward to playing other mh games
im stuck in world right now with rajin or whatever that fricking monkeys name is. im a lancegay and it's just too slow for me to get around him
but im still enjoying it because it's making me rethink how im playing
figure I'll try rise next or something I dunno
>PTSD ensues
I forgot how much MHW butcher old themes.
that'd be rise with its phone game music team
Never played it. I looked up the ranjang theme and it sounds more like the original, albeit with weird ass vocals
and very bad instruments and audio mixing.
Is it worth it to get back into World again to check out the Guiding Lands, I just quit after beating Shara.
>hates the rest of the franchise
checks out
Slophunter
Steamies don't buy video games. They get one a decade after launch for $0.99 on sale and play it for the next decade.
i bought the game last week with the sale
>can't skip cutscenes
this is my only gripe with the game really. picking hammer at the start was a mistake because every other weapon ive tried so far feels worse.
I dont know if I should bother grinding gear before Icebore.
Remember when Rise came out and people were trying to claim it wasn’t a downgrade from World? Kek.
>this game that more people bought on steam has more steam players than this game that fewer players bought on steam
I do enjoy how every entry/generation of Monster Hunter tries something new.
>[headcanon]
All that just to defend some trash dmc clone
lol. lmao
>and has different gameplay aims that don't appeal to pc players as much as what world did
Then why did they put on PC and other consoles later?
why would they not lol? it probably took 0 effort and means everyone else can play the game too
this is just how the series has been for forever. the hubris worldies have to come into a long and esteemed series, play 2 (two) games from it and act like they know what's best is very embarrassing
No one cares about what old monster Hunter fans want. You guys are all such autists.
>but the actual fans
are playing World yes. If you like rise you are not a MH fan and you should frick off
The cope is actually unreal lmao.
I dunno man, I really think the Switch is popular enough that anyone who really wanted Rise would have just got it for that instead of waiting for the PC port.
Next time release your game on real hardware, not some shitty outdated gameboy weaker than my grandmother's phone.
as a long time player, rise is better. but most people on pc have only played world and don't have the context to appreciate the experimentation in rise, since the classic MH gameplay loop is still fresh to them. also, rise is literally a switch port and therefore is going to much less appealing compared to the shiny nice graphics in world
Rise was thrown bone to handheld players so they didn't feel left out. World is the real MH, handheld MH is over, and Wilds is World 2.
I simply like all monster hunter games.
These are my favorite monsters. Not necessarily to fight, but I just think they're cool.
Maybe we'll get Zammy in Wilds.
I just think he's neat!
The fact he wasn't in World is a travesty
Giggi is better
Same.
Wishing Monster Hunter to be popular was my biggest monkey paw ever
Where should I place the regular bombs against Jhen Mohran? I can't put them on him like the anti-dragom bombs.
Place them where his tusks will be when he approaches from the left side of the boat in the first phase.
Kek thanks guys
Been having this thread a lot, but I've never gotten to say my piece, not that it matters. Rise is so soulless compared to World, it's so hard to get back into it because of that. They literally took steps backwards because of the Switch. It's not a bad game, it's still Monster Hunter, it's just that it's a lesser version of it.
Soulless? Backwards? The wirebugs alone are kino beyond belief
and that's all you can really say about it?
>I've never gotten to say my piece
>repeats the exact same generic buzzwords as every shitpost
Sure you haven't
>open world after not touching rise or world in over a year
>world feels kinda off, tinkering with settings trying to get things to sit right
>can't seem to find the training area in Seliana
>can't figure out certain things with that, just throw myself into a hunt
>don't die or anything, just feels kinda meh
>Hop off, switch to Rise
>have to figure out a few things yet but navigation in town is pretty straightforward with the fast travel
>go into hunt, can't remember the wirebug out of a knockback thing, die to that once since I decided to try out Primeval Malezeno as the first hunt back
>figure that out, get it all done and have a good time
>grind out some more anomaly stuff/frick around for several hours, weapons feel good, combat flows
TL;DR different strokes for different folks, wish World had some of the Rise optimizations
So you admit you are an absolute moron with an attention span of around 2 seconds and prefer Rise because it's casualized to hell and back
I'm glad Rise bombed
No, I played a good deal of world, enjoyed it, wasn't feeling it last time I played, nor was I able to find the training area (assume it's through the house in Seliana, or it doesn't exist, could be the case) in the minute or so I tried. Decided to play Rise since I had played it more recently and wanted to try out some of the newer stuff, had a fun time, wished they added some of the menu option travel to location to World. World is plenty "casualized" with mantles and a billion other things, so your argument is kinda dumb. I'm not saying one is bad, unlike you, dumb spastic.
but Asmon just showed that World is literally infant shit for baby morons
lmao
I want the atmosphere and raw gameplay of DOS back so we can get rid of brainlets like this guy
okay moron, sorry that the city in World is not designed with traversal in mind, nor is there an obvious link to a training area from the Hub/Weapon Smithy, where one would, naturally, assume they'd build it.
>I AM TOO BLIND ON BOTHS EYES TO FIND THE TRAINING HUB AND AM LITERALLY TO ADHD TO TAKE 10 SECONDS TO GOOGLE IT
>IT'S NOT ME WHO IS STUPID
>IT'S THE GAME!
>no signs anywhere in the town
>prefer to play the game
>see if there's a map in the UI (negative)
>just go enter a hunt since it functionally serves the same purpose
>don't feel the need to google it to find out
>say this is a minor gripe where it'd be nice if they added it in Wilds
>somehow this means I'm implying the game is stupid/have ADHD because I wanted to figure it out ingame/via context clues
You should stop talking.
Congratulations.
You took longer to reply to my post than it would take a NORMAL person to find the training hub.
asmonincel is playing it that's why normalgays are soi jacking over it again
I regret buying Rise I could have bought literally anything else
Why can't you just play both? They were released years apart and they're both on PC. Why is there community infighting?
Because shitposters REALLY want to make a multiplat/platform-hopping franchise some sort of ground zero for a Sony vs. Nintendo console war.
Worldgays don't want to play Rise because it has bad graphics
Risegays can't play World because it's not on Switch
>Risegays can't play World because it's not on Switch
Then they'll play it on any of the other platforms, since Rise is on all the platforms World is on. Just looking at the sales, it's pretty obvious most Rise players played World.
>it's pretty obvious most Rise players played World
It's not obvious at all. There's no indication that the players who picked up Rise on Switch went on to play World on any other platform because there's no data to show those players own more than the platform they bought the game on. You can't make that assumption.
So instead of there being world/rise overlap, you unironically think nearly 40 million unique individuals bought 5th gen MH?
So you can confirm all 13.6 million unique individuals who own Rise also own World? Keep in mind that I already confirmed that I personally am two of those unique individuals.
Sorry, MOST of those unique individuals?
It's far, FAR more likely than those 13.6 million players being completely new to the series and have no access to the other games
Welcome to the zoomie era, do you want some fries with that?
Post your go-to comfort monster, the one you have skinned alive so many times that you can humiliate it while watching something else.
I tested every new build or weapon on him
If it worked then I was good to go
Motherfricker was my first filter and I practiced against him so many times and it was the first fight where it got drilled into my head to use fricking items. Piscines ended up being my favorite monster group
Ukanlos for me, but he was my goto until Unite came out, so good taste senpai.
>all my fiver frens got the shit kicked out of them by Barioth
>my ass already got walled by him in tri so at this point I was just waltzing around him like it was rehearsed
Rathalos
I've done the "Ode to Destruction" quest so many times for Great Spiritvein Gems that I've basically tried out every weapon on it and now know its moves, The spike dives are still a bit unpredictable though.
Love fighting this giga homie like you wouldn't believe. Both versions walled me so hard that I pretty much learned to dance around his hitboxes with hammer. My other hunter friends now ask me for help whenever they have to fight him.
Lance is easy mode
Gl trivializes the fight
Hammer is fun though, to damage and save teammates with
pretty sure this is my fastest monster kill across all games
sns just shits on this guy through and through and I had to farm him a lot for water builds
I spent hours in tri fishing and bullying this dumb frick fish
that guy taught me MOI. Now that guy
doesn't stand a chance
Normal Rajang is too easy, furious one hits just right, especially when there's two of them.
My queen.
Probably Barioth or Zinogre, loved the endless zinogre hunt in 4u.
I wish they could balance the movement mechanics more, at this rate it feels like we're less than 3 games away from being able to infinitely fly around and shoot energy beams.
rise was just the cheap holdover from world while they made wilds
Rise is my favorite
Favorite maps? For me, it's
>Coral Highlands
>Ancestral Steppe
>Hoarfrost Reach
I actually like World's more out-there maps. I hope they keep making maps that are as cool as Coral Highlands.
>A. steppe
>moga woods
>3U flooded forest
>swamp
>4U dunes
>everwoods in general
>Shrine ruins
Coral highlands is a total mess imo but I can see how you can find it interesting and likeable. It gets significantly better 20 hunts later when you learn the layout and can navigate it without feeling like a complete moron. That also goes for the Ancient forest but the upper part of that is unsaveable.
Coral Highlands layout is a total mess when you don't know it at first, but it's one of the prettiest locales in World.
it's pretty but it's so shit to fight in outsider of a few areas, definitely cool though but shit.
I've almost never had much issue learning how to navigate maps like Coral Highlands and Ancient forest to begin with. I just have an autistic sense of direction, so I could never really comment on whether the map designs were good or bad to begin with.
Nothing was comfier than going into Moga Woods at night without a quest.
World was kino.
Rise was kino.
Can't wait for Wilds.
Console war schizos frick off.
This. I've enjoyed every entry I've played. I even managed to enjoy tri with its awful fricking underwater shit
He's enjoying it, he's not using defender gear and didnt get filtered by Anjanath. Gankertards BTFO.
Oh, so that's why there's a new bump in World players. Also adds some context to the fricking awful opinions I've been seeing recently.
flies attracted to shit etc etc.
Your cope sounds more and more desperate
Why are you praising e-celebs?
I am, not schizanon
The opposite, actually. There's been a lot of World players thanks to the Wilds announcement and #ReturntoWorld. He's just cashing in on its recent return to popularity after shitting on it 5 years ago.
There is literally a marketing campaign going on for the new MH game which includes #ReturntoWorld combined with a big sale. That Youtuber is just cashing in on it
there's no reason why high rank elder dragons should have 8,000 HP solo
i didnt buy rise because i pirated and emulated the switch version. if a PC version was released side by side with the switch version i would had bought it. simple as.
Nergigante is a decent elder dragon in my eyes solely because he doesn't have frick you random areas of the floor are lava moments.
I'm looking at you Kirin you frick.
nergigante is easier than anjanath with a decent guard
My Princesswives!
dango
NOOOOO
>Is that what they feed you over there?
>Oh you poor thing, let Grammeow make you a proper meal.
GRANDMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>be me
>have 8ft wiener
>every time it awakens all blood drains from my head and i must operate on pure instinct
>play rise
>hammer is literally perfect
>i rise
>pure flow state, instinctual unga, reach enlightenment
great game
I want him to come back in Wilds
Ight frickers. Dual Blade homosexual here.
Getting back into MHW to play with friends and play the Iceborne dlc.
Which weapons should i use, I'm thinking of rotating between maybe four or five weapons.
Right now I'm enjoying the switch axe a lot. It is a real fun weapon.
Any other recommendations?
Switch Axe CHAD
World kinda fricked up a few weapons, go with CB
hunting horn in world is literally the best its ever been
switch axe in world is almost perfection, ignoring ZSD spam
hammer is essentially the same but with extra flair
GS is changed drastically but holy shit if it doesn't feel weighty and punchy as frick
>hunting horn in world is literally the best its ever been
GU HH is 100 times better, double notes are way better than the moronic rectials of world (also nerfed MVs to enforce spin2win)
>GU HH is 100 times better
which style?
stronger doesn't mean better, HH having shit MVs and a moveset making you work hard for damage in world was awesome, that's not to mention how much fun it is to play.
Guild/Valor, eating shit isn't good for you
>Guild/Valor
>better than world hunting horn
yeah no.
It is.
nuh uhh
*teleports behind you*
*kills you*
the MV reductions are partially offset by the self improvement ATK boost and shockwaves (kinda, shockwaves not being affected by crit&sharpness is moronic)
the actually unforgivable thing is earplugs S and wind pressure encore not applying HG, making them utterly fricking useless
Playing World after Rise makes me miss switch skills so goddamn much.
literally exact opposite for me, I'm so glad that I don't have it anymore.
I hate ultraconvenience.
i went back to rise without using switch skills or wirebugs and i'm having a lot of fun
I am happy for you anonymous, I actually did the same but I just couldn't do it because the game is centered around it.
coming back to world now and the DLC but I'm over here wondering what's the best light bow gun to carry me through it... also I want to try great sword but it looks so slow
Anything with rapid spread will clean house.
The only things I like more about rise is that most weapons have unique skins for every monster, and that I like Khezu and some of the other returning monsters.
>I like Khezu
based
Giggi is better!
I never fought Giggi but I think he doesn't look as cool as Khezu. The egg mechanic looks kinda cool though.
Both games are fun, frick all of you
World has a campaign going #ReturnToWorld or some shit, and since people are moronic sheep they listened.
The numbers will drop soon enough and Rise will take the top since its the better game.
Holy cope. MHWorld had more players than rise before the campaign even started, Keep seething Ricegay.
If you like rice you may as well just admit you don't like Monster Hunter
>only adds 2 new monsters over P3rd
>adds a recolor of everything
>doesn't even add all the P3rd monsters either
How did they get away with this?
It was fun, something lost on fivers and FUBlack folk
It's definitely fun and one of my favorite MH games, but it's weird to think about how an ultimate version of a game only added 2 new monsters, and one was fricking Plesioth
Didn’t FU actually do basically the same thing tho?
Also by that metric 3U introduced 3 monsters (hidden final boss)
Ricegays are disgusting. The player numbers make it clear MHRice is the worst MH ever made and only moronic homosexuals like this garbage spin-off.
You would have no reference point to notice the changes since you haven't played the game before
yeah but is it still enjoyable to play the current base game without clutch claw and without the new weapon skills or are the monsters now balanced around those new mechanics to the point where it wouldn't be very enjoyable to play without them?
I'd be buying it on console.
>or are the monsters now balanced around those new mechanics
Base monsters are pretty much unchanged, you can ignore the clutch claw until Iceborne.
you can mod out clutch claw shit

Gen Ult >
Wtf is that screen
There's 2 main reasons imo. First, elements like Rampage are just not fun. Second, the multiplayer sucks. I just went back to play rise again. So many good things about the game but it's simple and easily laid out like MHW. You can just click a button and get present with dozens of specific quests and monsters. You can see how long a quest is been going on for. It's quick and easy. They built the Rise MP for the Nintendo and it doesn't carry over at all for PC.
I suck ass at monster hunter. I feel overwhelmed with all the shit I have to do. How do I get enjoy playing?
Idk why I typed out get
The simplest explanation is that the games aren't for you.
Don't start with Generations or GU, its got the actual most abysmal new player experience in the franchise. The best starting points are 4U and World.
>want to try a different weapon
>oh looks like I need to do some low rank hunts for this one item
>hmm looks like I have 25 of all the other ingredients, I wonder why that is
>oh it's because the rarest ingredient for this level 4 weapon is like 1%
>you can only increase you chances with investigations
>still after an investigation it doesn't drop
>level 4 weapon
>wasted an hour
ah yes... now I remember
People shitting on World and defending Rise in the same post will always amaze me.
>World has the Handler
>Rise has Fiorayne
Imagine preferring World
>>He plays MH for the HUMAN women instead of the monsters
>GTFO my game, homosexual.
>Jannies deleting SFW pics
Jannies are trannies.
moron here. I tried using FUComplete to patch Portable 2nd G from nip into english. And some quests, as well as seemingly random dialogue boxes are still in nip occasionally, nothing game ruining, but I like to read the text. How fix?
Why not just play the english PSP FU rom that exists?
Because I read that the way I tried was the way to go for the best FU experience, maybe not so much localization in the translations? I suppose I'll just swap to an english one, then.
Please give me a true to scale dalamadur fight in the open world please capcom
Prowler kinda good
They made a mistake of not making more content for World.
I just bought World just to feed my compulsory need to purchase discounted games when I'm stressed, will I like it?
I started with World and felt like I was playing some Jurassic Park knockoff, I was wondering where did Capcom hid the monsters
Fighting this thing using the switch axe feels like cheating because I'll just sword mode exclusively since axe mode bounces anywhere I hit. How does one fight it with a weapon that's actually capable of bouncing?
World is on sale for like $6-10 at the moment
I really hope Wilds doesn't take after World.
I, too, hope thirty million dollars will spontaneously appear in my room alongside two smoking hot goth chicks down to frick.
Wilds will take after World in the same way World took after 4.
Explain further.
GET FRICKED RICEgay, WILDS WILL BE WORLDS SEQUEL. RICE IS A SHITTY SPIN-OFF GAME MADE BY THE TEAM B.
>revealed at a prime time american event
>subtitle is one word
>aesthetically identical to World
I've got some bad news for you, anon-kun..
>aesthetically identical to World
do you mean world or iceborne because it looks a lot better than world
Its gonna be completely different to both World and Rise, some open world shit. This will cause Chernobyl levels of asshurt from Worldbabby "veterans". I look forward to both playing it and the sperging out
Yeah I’m sure Capcom isn’t going to try and emulate their most successful Monster Hunter game. That would be silly.
I'm on the fence about SB but I feel like I'm being played by Rise posters.
Try the demo
The criticisms of SB have nothing to do with arena fights though.
Hell, the criticisms of SB(and Rise as a whole) mostly have nothing to do with the game at all.
My criticism of SB is that I hate cooldown based combat in MH. Also jumping around with wirebugs is not MH and I can't wait for them never to return.
Wouldn't've happened if Capcom had implemented the Gun Sword from Lost Planet 2 as a new weapon class
Which mon probably tastes the best, and why is it Rajang? The sinful taste of almost-person, with the satisfaction of eating a total butthole of a mon.
Dont animals with a lot of muscle taste bad?
yes
bulldrome
Its not the taste its the toughness of the meat. Fat is what really tastes good so if you have muscle and fat itll taste just fine but the meat will be tough to chew. But generally people are accustomed to fat lazy cow meat. So you keep the cows from using their muscles keep em still and keep feeding them til its slaughter time.
>uma delicia
popo (halal)
bulldrome (haram)
I legitimately can't believe how bad rise is.
How do you go from a masterpiece like world to the dogshit that is rise?
Absolutely insane.
Yeah, where's the time wasting bugs and cutscenes? I hate how IG is good in the air instead of the ground as well.
they dont call it world for nuthing.
Because "World" is an objectively better game in pretty much every way.
World is a pile of dogshit without Iceborne.
And base Rise was even worse then base World before Sunbreak. You're point?
>And base Rise was even worse then base World
lol
It was. You're deluding yourself if you think otherwise.
Neither games were great, but base Rise was godawful.
Base rise was a rushed mess, so rushed they had to release the end of the "main story" as a title update and rampages are worse than guiding lands ( And guiding lands is GARBAGE )
>guiding lands
>base World
I didnt say guiding lands is from the base world, moron. I said rampages are worse than guiding lands.
But you responded to a post comparing base Rise to base World. You are a dumbass moron.
And? I just compared two features, it doesnt matter where they're from.
>Compare base world and base rise
>Muh guiding lands
Learn to structure your garbage opinion.
Gotta love how people keep holding rise to this standard despite not being that way for 2-3 years now.
Imagine if I trashed World nonstop for not even having deviljho.
>Imagine if I trashed World nonstop for not even having deviljho.
Anon, Rise has no Deviljho...
That wasn't the point, moron. Rise is exclusively held to a standard that it should be judged not by how it is now, but by how it was on launch day. However, nobody judges any other MH by how it was on launch.
I just find it funny that even when you try to talk shit on World you make Rise sound even worse is all.
Rise had frickall content.
I'm glad you enjoy bad tower defense games, but they are not Monster Hunter.
Nobody forced you to do Rampages.
You are forced to do them to progress.
like 3.
So I was indeed forced to do them.
You were forced to watch World's Cutscenes that took longer than a Rampage mission.
I am not defending World cutscenes. You on the other hand are trying to defend Rampages.
Difference is I didn't have to PLAY the cutscenes, just watch them, I had to play the rampages, and it was a fricking miserable experience.
But World does force you to play the cutscenes. It had several walk and talk sections.
And those still weren't as awful as the rampages.
Also "Several" more like only a few. Nothing in World is as bad as the forced Rampages. Nothing. The cutscenes have the sin of being mostly boring to sit through, the Rampages have the greatest sin of being god awful to PLAY through.
>Also "Several" more like only a few.
Every single story mission had them
Nice job proving you never played the game, lmao.
Rise was a lot of fun, quite good and had some great ideas (switch skills should be a permanent feature in the series) but overall was a small step back from world in like 80% of the the game.
is the bow supposed to feel like a machine gun?
I'm sure Rise Switch numbers are high. PC fattys just play shit games, just look at the top 10 played games on steam. All garbage.
He's not wrong.
>rust is almost as old as minecraft
lol, gaming is so shit. thanks women
This would have been funnier if it was taken at the time World managed to hit top 10.
Switchlets think games like Scarlet and Violet are good games, I don't take shit they say seriously.
like Snoys can talk
your top game is always FORTNITE and has been for like 4 years.
You make Epic 50% of its revenue.
LOL
>*dabs on Eric*
>Fartnite
>CoC
>ROBLOX
>sports shit
>PC ports
hahahahahahah
Alright fine I’m restarting World, should I go Greatsword or Lance? Open to other suggestions purely based on fun factor. I normally play SwitchAxe
RICE gayS ARE SO DELUSIONAL, THEY HAVE THE WORST GAME OF THE FRANCHSIE AND THINK THEY CAN GIVE THEIR SHITTY OPINION ABOUT WORLD LOLOLOLOL
eric dox when
already done by himself in one of his fits of moronation years ago.
I mean his address so we can all beat him with bars of soap
oh, unknown.
The sad part is how this will be the only post that gets deleted despite the rampant shitposting.
you must be a prophet.
All I want from Wilds is:
No Wire Bugs
No Silk Binds
No Spirit birds
No Wyvern Riding
Less focus on counter/parry gameplay. Lance and Charge Blade are the counter/parry weapons, stop making every single weapon some autistic Sekiro weapon. Great Sword has no reason being a counter weapon.
No Clutch claw
No footprint huffing
Tobi-Kodachi to be real and be my boyfriend.
>No Clutch claw
Anon, I...
Footage from Wilds show the slinger, not the clutch claw.
clutch claw and the updated movesets were okay (just 'okay', nothing greater), it's the tenderize/wallbang shit that got old real fast
love me some lance counter-claw or the diving claw from IG
I don't get it. Who's forcing people to play rampages all day long and nothing else? You get three forced rampages, anything more than that and its you doing it to yourself.
Don't you need defender tickets to get all those extra skills on your weapons?
b-but anon, if you say that they won't have something to fire back with when the forced cutscenes are brought up.
I have never seen Worldgays try to excuse unskippable cutscenes.
Rampages however...
Well at least Risegays no longer pretend rampages aren't shit. Now the excuse is >You are ONLY forces to play them for an hour!
Nobody ever defended rampages, schizo.
>Y-you're not forced to play them
>Well ok you are but only for an hour or two
In this very thread
>people play Rise
>endgame is Rampages
>people don't like it
>don't get Sunbreak
>don't know what changed
MH threads are for shitflinging. Odds are half of these morons didn't play Rise, and likely didn't even get to High Rank on World
3 rampages > 2 zorah "fights"
Zorah at least isn't endgame grind unlike some other game.
>rampages
>endgame
what. Did also everyone forget about AT Zorah?
Zorah had me climb a top of someone's back and beat them in the head
Rampages had be play a shitty Bloons TD6 with shit UI and the most unfun mechanics known to the entire franchise
crazy how there are 100k people in game and then an extra 40k+ just watching it on twitch
They're all watching Asmongold
Everyone is watching that bald frick you disingenuous c**t
bought mhw for me and my bro
i read... mixed opinions regarding the co-op aspect of the game
apparently story missions are a pain because players are locked out of cutscenes or something like that
is it really jarring? do i need to progress through the game on my own before getting into coop properly or something?
help a brother out and have a nice year broskis this will be the one
I played solo because the only people that played Monster Hunter with me swore MHW was an abomination to the series that lead to the ruination of the franchise due to the modernized controls and larger demographic appeal.
for the sake of clarity
i don't need to progress the story at the exact same pace of my bro, is that correct?
If you complete the story on your own the worst that'll happen is you'll have access to gear that's beyond earlier story parts so you might go in and effortlessly demolish a monster for him and he doesn't get to do much. Even if you go in with appropriate gear you'll still have more experience than him, but at least he'll be able to play if you're not instantly stunlocking the monster to death.
The good part if doing it on your own first is that he'll be able to progress with you without having to do double the amount of quests because you'll have progressed past it already.
that pretty much clears everything up
thanks buddy
My group’s just been joining via SOS flare and still getting progress without having to redo missions as you describe, but maybe it’s because we all play individually till we get past the cutscene before grouping up
It’s a pain, but not terrible. Essentially there’s a trigger point after you see a cutscene that allows you to call a SOS flare, so essentially all players need to play till they get that prompt (usually after a monster’s intro cutscene), then abandon the mission to redo the mission/join whoever wants to be host and launches a flare. Just be aware that you can get randos if you SOS flare, but feel like there’d be a way to disable that.
crazy how no real MH fan gives a shit about rise
This is true.
MHgays just got the consoles for MH.
It wasn't until World was announced to be multiplat that MH was dragged down into consolewar homosexualry
Which is pretty ironic considering the games have released exclusively on one platform before that.
Did people forget there was actually a monster to fight after 15 minutes of firing turrets and cannons in a Rampage? Zorah is also 15 minutes of firing turrets and cannons (with limited ammo) but you also hit some rocks on its back. It's just like the Mohran fights from 3 and 4.
just started rise again after playing world a bit. both are great, but I might actually like rise better.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
NO, NO, NO! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LIKE WORLD MORE! AAAAIEEEE!!
#ReturntoRise
>.how did this happen
They designed Rise for the switch, that's what happened.
I thought rampages werent all that bad honestly. yes its not mh in the slightest but it was really just some dumb fun. only in multiplayer though
>Make cool ass fire lion
>most threatening attack is him just running up to you to do one of his ACTUAL attacks
>getting hit by his run up does more damage than 90% of his real moves and stuns you in 2 hits
I don't remember Teostra being this annoying pre-world
i just fought him in 4U earlier today and it was the worst experience ive ever had fighting teo so yeah hes definitely worse there
Fricking queers. The fight is great if you’re remotely good, stop saying shit is bad because you’re used to easier gameplay
>teo in 4U
>moves at mhach speed
>completely unpredictable behavior
>run up does insane damage
i agree with you hes fine everywhere else but this is just shit. FUs teo is also good but hes kind of a jobber once you learn you can headlock the fricker
Flash him. You'll love it.
>his wife is the same shit but with bigger hitboxes and puddles everywhere
asmongold is fighting diablos
nobody cares about aspiemold
So is Eric's new shtick to attempt to use Aspergold as a snoyflation device?
>Finally finished transitioning from the dipshit who keeps carting to Fatalis over and over and ruining the hunt twenty minutes in for the veterans, into being one of the veterans who watches some dipshit carting to Fatalis over and over and ruining my hunt twenty minutes in
It's an abstract kind of feel.
solo it?
Yeah, I'm probably going to give up and start doing that after a few more failures. I just think the fight is more fun with a team and also some very kind player kept joining my SOS's for like eight attempts in a row until he finally got me through my first run, and I want to pay the favour forward to some other scrub
>not doing it solo for the first time
i pity you
>Risebros..how did this happen..
PLS INVITE TO ASMON SHARD
>It's a 3 other noobs trying to clear their urgent join your urgent quest and none of you know how to fight the monster episode
Thanks anon, I appreciate it
>Assmongler beat the mon the game tells you to run from
>proves that World is piss easy
>somehow Ganker Worldsperm are WORSE than him at the game
fricking exposed
many such cases
its low rank, everything hes done so far is a tutorial. The only thing hes proved is that journalists and people who were unwilling to understand the game's mechanics get filtered easily, which we already knew.
>he'll use Defender Armor!
>he can't use Great Sword
>he'll die to Anjie
>YOU ARE HERE
>it's low rank
lmao
lol
he did die to anja, multiple times. But even then anja isnt a wall but more of a skill check. If you know the basics of the game (which for GS means knowing how to TCS) then hes not hard to beat. If he actually plays past nerg into high rank he'll get bodied a lot more, especially with GS
The UI will be the thing that makes him quit.
I hate Tenderplates
there must be a reason why monster hunter: world is the best selling entry.
Piss easy game made for newbies
it's the most casual entry of a 'hardcore' series so normalgays can play it and 'fit in' with the fandom. Happens all the time.
I have no desire to ‘fit in’ with you anon.
Says the moron on Ganker. Of course you do. You're here.
Dumbfrick.
Yeah it’s actually good and no longer some obscure game for weebs.
first high budget console release after being trapped on underpowered hardware for forever.
tendies can piss and shit all they want but turns out graphix actually do matter to a lot of people.
Can someone explain Guiding Lands to me? I just unlocked it and read all the tutorials they shoved in my face but I didn't really understand most of it or what the point of it is.
pseudo-open world slop, enjoy
You just keep killing shit and harder shit shows up and you can make like a filter list basically so you can eventually just farm golden rathalos
I consider Rise to only be a spinoff game. MH: Wilds will be the true next entry after World..
Get your head checked out
I can't wait till Wild inevitable outsells Rise after a few hours and ultimately beats the frick out of it
>next mainline outsells a portable entry
say it isn't so
>that gap
You'll still be crying over Rise 5 years from now
To be fair it could have and should have been a good entry if it had skipped the switch instead of being gimped for it.
Its inevitable due to being on fricking everything day one instead of console exclusive for X amount of time.
What kind of moron doesn't expect Wilds hype to cause it outsell EVERY Monster Hunter, maybe including World?
You're dumb as shit
Rise is too fast and zoomy for me a worldboomer
Rise is too fast and zoomy for me and I'm a MH1 boomer (though more like FU, since I didn't play MH1 that often back then.)
Rise is too ADHD.
>Fivers still freaking out over the portable entry for their gen
It never gets old.
>most fans played both
>imagining these World-only slow fricks trying to fight a Scorned Magnamalo
lmao, makes me giggle. And you KNOW they never beat Fatalis either.
>morons complaining that IB and Risebreak are too fast when they are of comparable speed to 4th gen
It's all so tiresome.
SA and HH are fun
Go SnS or Lance imo.
>-Gunlance is spamming Blast Dash and full burst over and over
Not everyone uses braindead Normal spam.
Guard Reload is great for standing your ground during poke/shell loops and Wyrmstake head sniping with Guard Edge is coom
Did they make Perfect Rush shit? Not that I really mind, spamming it in every circumstance in IB got boring fast.
You use it to end your combo after a topple
It's still good, but not the end all of it.
no, it's slightly behind hard basher reaper loops and lateral loops though, so it's kinda like "why not do this easier thing for more DPS"
Appreciate the indepth response. I've never liked Lance that much but I'll give it another go and see if it clicks this time.
it needs to played like DB and SnS where you make up for lower damage by being on the mon 24/7. You have a shield, but the less you use it the better. Counters should handle all defense needs.
WORLD: NO KHEZU
RISE: HAS KHEZU
UNDENIABLE RISE VICTORY
Based
goddamn what that mouth do
I think Rise was meh, I used mods to make it more bearable.
I'm currently play the MH3U All-in-pack and I'm having a blast, shame the graphics are less real in 3U comparing to Tri
>replay GU at 120fps for a bit on emulator
>looks great
>ultimately dont want to start over though
>try going back to the switch version
>cant
fug.
Grit your teeth and bear it. You'll get over it.
Figure out how to transfer your save
it's pretty easy to save transfer, If you start again start with a dlc injected save so you can get access to event quests. Online is still pretty lively on ryujinx if you still wanna play online too.
dont you need a hacked switch to save transfer?
Seems like it, homebrew isn't too complex nowadays though.
Does hunting with my wife increase the mon's health?
>Monster Hunter thread
Monster Hunter threads should be banned. They're just console war threads. Honestly, the impression I get from MH threads is that these games are bad because nobody discusses them. Meanwhile Armored Core and Dragon's Dogma threads go along just fine.
frick off Eric
Monster Hunter died with GU. World and Rise are shitty games trampling on the corpse. I fricking hate that console war homosexualry became the boogeyman to explain any criticism towards world when it came out when XX was already getting hate for destroying the series
Frick off consolewar homosexuals
I love MH and enjoyed Rise and World about equally but if I had to choose between the two I can't think why anyone would choose world other than graphics and morons being able to mash through it. Am I missing something? The flintstones aesthetic is terrible too.
There is order in the universe again
If Wilds includes
>Hunter Arts
>Styles
>Switch Skills
>Dogs
>Spirit birds
>Counters on every weapon
>Dango in any shape or form
I will not buy it. Firm.
>Switch Skills
I've seen this several times the last couple of threads. Why do some people hate Switch Skills?
>Why do some people hate Switch Skills?
Play a real Monster Hunter instead of asking dumb questions
So you don't actually have an answer and just hate it because it was in Rise. Or worse, you only hate it because it has "Switch" in the name.
I don't like it because it waters down weapons' identities, and the base moves are made worse to push the switch skills which makes your weapon feel shittier until you unlock them.
Only a fricking moron would entertain the idea of playing rise tbh.
>what if we like, made the game worse by introducing these dumb bird things that make your health, stamina, attack, and defense but made it so your default health and stamina are dogshit even if you eat food?
This alone was a major turn-off for me in Rise and Sunbreak.
>made it so your default health and stamina are dogshit even if you eat food
You get the standard 150/150 if you eat. It just takes up less space on the bar.
Cope
And they WANT you to run around and grab the stupid birds, in fact they balance a lot of the late quests around doing just that.
>they balance a lot of the late quests around doing just that
>he needed the birds
Sounds like you're a shitter to me
Sounds like the game is shit and you're a moron for playing it, to me
Cope harder, its the truth and you know it. They balanced the game around the birds otherwise they wouldn't be there. Its not a matter of needing them or not, the devs wanted you to run around and get them and in doing so made the game significantly worse.
According to the devs the birds exist to give bad players an optional boost, good players are supposed to go straight to the monster
The rainbow bird was a mistake though and completely fricks up this dynamic, and makes arena fights way easier than they ought to be
>According to the devs the birds exist to give bad players an optional boost
>he says, lying through his teeth like the homosexual he is
>the majority of Rise's playerbase bought the game on Switch and didn't change platforms when it went multiplat
>Rise runs just fine on Switch
>World runs like dogshit on consoles
>you can't see playercounts on anything but steam because Devs want to avoid the concept of interest spiraling, led by morons like OP
go to bed, Eric.
I'm a simple man, I like to use an axe that turns into a sword
They should add a sword that turns into a gun. Potentially even the Gun Sword from Lost Planet as a new weapon type.
I wish Eric got fricking rangebanned, ever since this homosexual started using Monster Hunter to proxy war consolewars MH threads have goen to shit.
Over 100k players
Simultaneously
On just ONE platform
For a 5 year old game
Really makes you think
Eric, 20k people playing a 2 year old PC game (3 if we count it's real release) is not bad. You're fricking delusional with your consolewar homosexualry and depression and just make a new year's resolution to kys
>eric
have a nice day
>no u
Eric, you are pathetic.
It's funny how hard rise failed to maintain players
Rise's main story is 10 hours long and can be beaten by average players in starting armor
Too bad nobody could stomach more than 10 minute of that slop.
20k peak on a 2 year old game is bad?
Guess Devil May Cry is shit, too then
Dragon's Dogma only has 2.5k atm.Guess that's complete shit too then!
Real Monster Hunter fans are playing World. It's that simple.
If you think rise is a good game, not even a good mh game but a good game at all, you're basically a fricking moron.
>the three games marked
>the first game
>the first game to get ANY significant pull in the west
>the first game of the 'new gen'
>this means Rise bad
>>this means Rise bad
Rise is bad regardless
And Tri.
No need to state the obvious. Everyone knows it's bad. If you think otherwise then you're a fricking moron.
What does it say about me if I liked FU, P3rd and 3U but hated 4U, GU, World and Rise?
he's going all out, as expected for one of his threads.
literally impossible holy frick
rajang is the only hard part about this but man is he bad
But I want to play YOUR game and take it away from YOU explicitly.
>name unique aspects from 90% of Monster Hunter games
>some moron implies you dislike the series
what did he meme by this
nah I'll stay
If you like rise you dont like MH
Is that the Asmon effect?
Where would a normal person find the hub, given the ingame map?
>there's an actual, factual reason to badmouth rise
>in the past 30 billion threads noone has mentioned it
>makes me wonder if the people flaming this consolewar nonsense are not good enough at the game to know what it is
There's nothing wrong with dango anon
as though Dango/not having feasts hasn't been mentioned to death
Most of these MH threads are World players frothing at the mouth at a mirror.
Yeah it's the awful qurio leveling system , almost made me drop rise before it got buffed 6 times.
