No, the story is that P3rd didn't get a western release via localization of the PS3 port because Sony wanted to force achievements into the game and the MH team refused.

Cleared both without carting in like 13 minutes the first try. Final boss is also disappointing outside of the design but even then it's not iconic like Shara Ishvalda.

I don't think Rise is built for something like IB Fatalis, it will just be like Ibushi, Narwa, and Gaismogorm where it's a flat arena and the monster stops attacking to allow you time to use the artillery that only appears when it's not trying to kill you.
The hipcheck is new for the Magalas and they're a lot better at backing up or pivoting like most monsters

I'm just venting about a perceived problem. Why is it the main thing about a new monster tier is just that the ultra instinct apex diseased predator version is just 20x hp? Why don't they simply add a more challenging monster?
The design philosophy for Rise/Sunbreak prevents them from making challenging fights because it's aimed at the Switch's 2-hour battery life so hunts has to be 15 minutes average even factoring in beginners to MH.
That way once you've beaten the final boss the only things that end up being worth fighting at all are the same three elders as always and maybe some roided out recolor of an old flagship
Cranking up other monsters stats is less effort and can be done across the entire cast for far less work than creating even 1 monster
Afflicted seems to have more individual tuning going on than Frenzy/Hyper did since not every monster got jacked up by the same amount and even individual attacks behave differently on the monsters that were already later in the game, only Rakna's physical attacks got sped up at all for example.

The trick is to befriend good randos. Add them on steam and add them on dickscord if you get along well. It got harder with World and Rise though since a good chunk of people just play solo or use SOS.

I take both but Guard Up 3 is the most important. If I had to drop one, it would be Guard from 5 to 3. Next would be dropping EE to 2 from 3. After that I would drop Wirebug Counter or WW.

I kind of like the synergy with the boosted extract bugs since I can keep doing the move over and over so long as there are free refill clouds around. Not sure how the damage compares in the long run though.
I like it way better. It comes out way faster and it's easier to land hits on specific parts like the tail or head since you can aim it.

If you manage to slay the Apex in a rampage (as in actually kill it, not time out) then it unlocks their individual quest so you don't have to do rampages to farm their materials anymore. But Sunbreak tossed that shit in the bin so why bother unless you're a completionist.

Shield Tackle give lance absurd repositioning flexibility and a free shield at moments notice. Instead of only being able to "strafe" sidestep/backhop while only facing one direction they can now turn midcombo if they want as well. Also, Skyward Thrust is COOL.

I've had everyone die all at once to the most obvious attacks many times. I can understand dying to the attacks where he sucks you into his head since there's a possibility he can pull that out when you're out of Wirebugs and you don't play IG, but they just keep killing themselves to the easiest ones with very slow and blatant tells.
In solo? Multi should be really easy, but there isn't that many openings to slice the tip of his tail since his model constantly rotates towards you and when there are it's lodged right up into a wall for a 1/3rd of the the downs. I've started just using IG to jump over his arms and stuff when he falls awkwardly, so maybe it'll work now that I don't have to walk a marathon to reach the tail.

Are the Tier 8 - 10 talismans any good? All of the ones I've seen so far look worse than the ones I had in HR somehow.
RNG is RNG. They can have new skills on them and level 4 deco slots.
T10 are potentially better, since you can get more skills, new skills, and level 4 slots. Level slots aren't amazing yet, but we all fricking know Attack Boost +2 and all the 2x2 level 4 decorations will come with TUs, same way the saved WEX and CB decorations until TU1 in base Rise. So right now, if you have a good charm from base Rise, upgrading isn't super pressing, and likelihood of you finding a better charm seems quite low. Come TU I expect that you'll feel it a bit more if you haven't found a good upgrade yet though.

Why are there barely any turf wars in this game? I've seen 2 in 40 hours of playtime. I feel like the happened all the time in world.
There are a ton of them, even in base Rise. You don't see them often because they are not that common and Wyvern Ride animations activates as soon as the other monster enters the area (so before Turf Wars can trigger).
I really wish they would make Wyvern Ride exclusively trigger from the Hunter's own Wirebug attacks and make Turf Wars a lot rarer.

like I said thats not true for endgame monsters
maybe if you exclusively use temporal to clutch claw monsters that are charging around. but in normal scenarios, temporal works the same even after the nerfs ONE hit procs ONE dodge that goes through all attacks until the dodge animation completely ends, and you can steer that dodge out of harm's way
You lost me. All I know is that end game Iceborne it was common for people to drop both those mantles for something else because the nerf was huge to the point it wasn't worth taking.
And drop it for what? an equally absurd mantle like evade mantle that gives you dark souls rolls + giant damage buff? wooooo
