Scorned Maggie's armor is incredibly silly, but still kind of charming in that way. His weapon designs are a bit of a letdown with them just having some kind of iridescence on them.
I suppose it's because they had to keep *something* for MR100 and it would be lame if it was something you already fought before.

It's what happens when you introduce skills that do different things, but the levels only increase that one thing. Look at Chain Crit versus Redirection. Redirection is always put to two, because the value of the auto dodge is so, so good. If Chain Crit didn't have the five hit attack boost until level 2 or 3, then people would be slotting up to that level.

When the monster enrages you get a permanent Hellfire debuff
Using any wirebug moves that yank you around leaves a hellfire bubble behind like when you're fighting Magnamalo
The armor set makes it not a debuff I guess but you get what I mean. Any moves like Spiral Thrust or Power Sheath or whatever will leave some Hellfire around to trip up monsters.

I don't know what people were saying about IB monkey, but Sunbreak Furious Rajang is a hectic fight that is 100% fair and can be beaten by just rolling. It's the most fun Rajang has ever been.
MR jang feels the exact same as HR to me except now he doesn't topple when you power him down (which is how it should have been anyways), dunno what all the rage is about
I'm not saying MR Rajang is difficult, I just think it's a very bad and boring fight. Furious has more of a back and forth between each other with less awkward combos, but he's also pretty good at dealing chip damage even if you can dodge the hard hitting stuff and his attacks have insane tracking without being unavoidable.
I honestly love the Furious fight and am pretty lukewarm on regular 'Jang. I would also probably consider him easier than the regular monkey but I'm also just using GS for him.

That's because MR is just combo spam with very little downtime that you didn't create yourself, meanwhile Furious actually had thought put into it and greatly rewards learning hitboxes.

Very rarely armors in Rise show midriff or thighs, I'm surprised Zinogre remained intact. I remember Gore armor had horns and a skirt but now it's completely covered up with a helmet, I don't think it was like that before.

The gore armor is the XR one so it's not like it hasn't existed before but it's pretty obvious why they opted for that one. As for Zinogre they know they can't get away with changing legacy armors. Probably why all the new armors are so samey with the male ones. I don't know why people count this as a win by turning female stuff so samey. It's starting to lack identity imo. If I wanted to play in this armor and have the hulking male walk animation I'd just play a dude.
Personally I like the cool looking female armor, but yes I think it'd be nicer to have both, maybe as a toggle on every armor set between realistic and skimpy. If people complain give a toggle to male sets as well.

Certainly harder to make fashion or layered mixups this time around. Kadaki looks very homosexual on males, so the problem goes both ways. Vaal gave you a Skull Knight or a Corpse Bride, but in Rise you would get the same thing for both genders.

If you want to have a real giggle, try RF Shrapnel on Zinogre. His horns are Shrapnel magnet.
You've got lots of different types of rapid fire ammo though.
I've actually been trying Artillery LBG lately, even though they nerfed Sticky and Slicing, it's actually a lot more fun since you alternate between those two, Cluster (fire it with Maneuver or Vault) and Spread to quickly pop mines when the monster is down. Since you have to juggle a lot of different ammo so you don't end up having to resupply and the monster doesn't spend half the encounter writhing on the floor since they nerfed the KO so hard, it's no longer a brain dead way to play and a nice option for shitzone monsters.
Magnamalo's. You need a Silencer and Tune-Up 1 to fire Sticky 3 and Slicing with low recoil. After that it's just stacking as much raw as possible once you've got Recoil/Reload, Artillery, Spare Shot and Ammo Up maxed out.
I use this, it's actually kind of bad because if you don't crit on a strong slash when frenzy isn't overcome you won't collapse him when he's charging his chest.
Damn. On a side note did you know this guy has a new beam attack? He rarely uses it.
If you mean the ultra beam attack where he goes up and then down again, it's one of the best openings. You can get a full TCS without a counter off if you know where to stand
Allow Solo hunters to bring along Followers if they want and release a better Melding option that also includes Afflicted parts which are worth a lot there, that's all you need to do and then they're perfect.
All of the Gaisma weapons are excellent choices for their respective types (no idea about gunner weapons). While there's probably room for specialization depending on what armor you're working with and weapon type, they all have huge raw damage and great sharpness so they're extremely comfy.

Rathalos hammer has a 3 rampage slot so you can fit the kushala soul deco if you're playing courage. It also has much higher fire element if that's relevant for the matchup.

How the FRICK do you find time to use the SS Combo? You need openings so big it makes Bullet Barrage look like a 1 frame move in comparison.
Sacred Sheathe is a finisher, you either use the counter hit, or use a different swap with Special Sheathe until the monster gets knocked down. You give up your entire chance to hit the monster in favor of using the 3-charged hit from Sacred on that opening.
Otherwise, use traps, or get better at reading the openings
He was the first wall for anyone who started with Tri, like Anjanath for Worldlings. But he got nerfed every single game since tri to the point where he's a shadow of his former self.
Of course even in Tri he was like the 3rd large monster you fought, so it's not like he was ever top dog or anything.

If you want extra rewards in Rise/SB, use 2 pilfer cats in solo. You'll get more extra rewards than investigations gave

IG. Just be a helicopter and keep your red/white/orange essences up since it's super easy to gather all three now that green essence isn't a thing anymore.

with a teostra/orangeten mixed set and the rank 9 version of the teostra sns i think i've seen like 10-15 procs? With teostra soul and the food they do like 240-250 per blast so that averages out to like 3k damage a hunt? Not awful, not amazing. I think with foray poison is probably more damage over the course of a hunt
I think the para IG is the best status weapon in the game outside of some status LBG. You can get 3 para's and 3 knock outs per hunt while doing okay damage - like 600-900 damage dives if you can pull it off. No idea why DB's are so fricking cucked when it comes to status - does SnS have good status weapon? Only other good combo I'm thinking may exist is a para hammer if you get the para off first so you don't overlap the stuns and paras
Sns is pretty good with status especially if you actually hang onto windmill and use the sword instead of endlessly shield bashing
Poison is good on certain monsters
Installing a dick-meter to see how I do on average was such a fricking mistake, not only do I see all these deadweights RE framework also made a mess of my rise folder, trigger my autism to no end.

the biggest nerf it got was the wirebug cooldown on Soaring Kick going from 20 sec to 32, which gets countered a bit by getting Wirebug Whisper 3.
if you watch LS speed runs, they still mostly use IAI Slash/Helmbreaker combos. The damage is still there but it can be rather inconsistent for a lot of situations.
ISS and helmbreaker spam is still the optimal LS play. The problem is that all your damage comes from apart from sacred sheath. It's almost as bad as hammer and impact crater.
Yes. Spirit combos damage isn't that high, and monsters don't stand still long enough to use it. Optimal play is ISS/SK spam within the Harvest Moon circle, swapping to SS/USS on downs. You can skip HM if it's too much discomfort, and foresight slash is still useful for multihit counter set ups. If you're min maxing you ditch SS/USS entirely for Dereliction HM ISS/SK, but in multiplayer you can get more value out of sacred sheathe and sakura slash due to the monsters being distracted more often.

Shield tackle forward dodge also works, guarded for the tackle (and don't use stamina) doesn't move you as far as dash and leaping thrust though. Honestly though I usually just charge.

Why does this feel like the case for most of the new skills they introduced in Sunbreak? Bloodlust, Dereliction, Chain Crit.
It's what happens when you introduce skills that do different things, but the levels only increase that one thing. Look at Chain Crit versus Redirection. Redirection is always put to two, because the value of the auto dodge is so, so good. If Chain Crit didn't have the five hit attack boost until level 2 or 3, then people would be slotting up to that level.

The armor set makes it not a debuff I guess but you get what I mean. Any moves like Spiral Thrust or Power Sheath or whatever will leave some Hellfire around to trip up monsters.

I'm not saying MR Rajang is difficult, I just think it's a very bad and boring fight. Furious has more of a back and forth between each other with less awkward combos, but he's also pretty good at dealing chip damage even if you can dodge the hard hitting stuff and his attacks have insane tracking without being unavoidable.
I honestly love the Furious fight and am pretty lukewarm on regular 'Jang. I would also probably consider him easier than the regular monkey but I'm also just using GS for him.

Being limited to one cat in World was so dull. Even going back to Freedom Unite's style of you could only take one on hunts while having the others in reserve would've been better. Also World gutted cat versatility, but since the little frickers never leave hunts anymore to heal up that cancels it out I guess. Also nothing beats the growth you experienced with Cha-Cha.

I have my one cat homie and other lesser slaves I use as recon buddies and argosy/meowcenary cats, you don't have to micromanage that much actually. Just put them in the dojo a few rounds and then keep them in permanent boat duty when they're leveled enough.

Subjective, but I noticed that male and female armors are very similar this time around and bulkier, if Odo and Nerg gals were designed by the new team they would look exactly the same as the male armors. Scorned Magna female and male are the exact same model and it looks bizarre.
That last point has gotta be because of current year bullshit. There's a mod of the Malzeno set to make all the black underarmor shit skin colored instead and it looks as normal as any other female armor.

Very rarely armors in Rise show midriff or thighs, I'm surprised Zinogre remained intact. I remember Gore armor had horns and a skirt but now it's completely covered up with a helmet, I don't think it was like that before.

The gore armor is the XR one so it's not like it hasn't existed before but it's pretty obvious why they opted for that one. As for Zinogre they know they can't get away with changing legacy armors. Probably why all the new armors are so samey with the male ones. I don't know why people count this as a win by turning female stuff so samey. It's starting to lack identity imo. If I wanted to play in this armor and have the hulking male walk animation I'd just play a dude.
Personally I like the cool looking female armor, but yes I think it'd be nicer to have both, maybe as a toggle on every armor set between realistic and skimpy. If people complain give a toggle to male sets as well.
Don't get me wrong I like the Gore set overall and the Lunagaron one looks pretty cool too, but I just feel like even more than most armors looking samey it's also pretty lazy.
This would be fixed by bringing back Alpha and Beta armors.

Certainly harder to make fashion or layered mixups this time around. Kadaki looks very homosexual on males, so the problem goes both ways. Vaal gave you a Skull Knight or a Corpse Bride, but in Rise you would get the same thing for both genders.

Alternating between shrapnel and spread is the funnest for me, but there's only a few guns with both on rapid.
espinas lbg is a godsend with its low base recoil and fast reload, makes up for no gem slots
shrapnel rapid fire on something like almudron or rakna is v.fun
If you want to have a real giggle, try RF Shrapnel on Zinogre. His horns are Shrapnel magnet.
You've got lots of different types of rapid fire ammo though.
I've actually been trying Artillery LBG lately, even though they nerfed Sticky and Slicing, it's actually a lot more fun since you alternate between those two, Cluster (fire it with Maneuver or Vault) and Spread to quickly pop mines when the monster is down. Since you have to juggle a lot of different ammo so you don't end up having to resupply and the monster doesn't spend half the encounter writhing on the floor since they nerfed the KO so hard, it's no longer a brain dead way to play and a nice option for shitzone monsters.

Magnamalo's. You need a Silencer and Tune-Up 1 to fire Sticky 3 and Slicing with low recoil. After that it's just stacking as much raw as possible once you've got Recoil/Reload, Artillery, Spare Shot and Ammo Up maxed out.

All of the Gaisma weapons are excellent choices for their respective types (no idea about gunner weapons). While there's probably room for specialization depending on what armor you're working with and weapon type, they all have huge raw damage and great sharpness so they're extremely comfy.

How the FRICK do you find time to use the SS Combo? You need openings so big it makes Bullet Barrage look like a 1 frame move in comparison.
Sacred Sheathe is a finisher, you either use the counter hit, or use a different swap with Special Sheathe until the monster gets knocked down. You give up your entire chance to hit the monster in favor of using the 3-charged hit from Sacred on that opening.
Otherwise, use traps, or get better at reading the openings
You can also jump around once you sheath.

You still farmed a monster's investigation for drops that are still X% chance for the one you want

That's still not functionally different from farm a particular quest for X% chance for rewards. It just speeds up the process.
If you want extra rewards in Rise/SB, use 2 pilfer cats in solo. You'll get more extra rewards than investigations gave

I've been toying around with the idea of a testrosa sns blast build just cause the mr armor is sweet
with a teostra/orangeten mixed set and the rank 9 version of the teostra sns i think i've seen like 10-15 procs? With teostra soul and the food they do like 240-250 per blast so that averages out to like 3k damage a hunt? Not awful, not amazing. I think with foray poison is probably more damage over the course of a hunt

I think the para IG is the best status weapon in the game outside of some status LBG. You can get 3 para's and 3 knock outs per hunt while doing okay damage - like 600-900 damage dives if you can pull it off. No idea why DB's are so fricking cucked when it comes to status - does SnS have good status weapon? Only other good combo I'm thinking may exist is a para hammer if you get the para off first so you don't overlap the stuns and paras
Sns is pretty good with status especially if you actually hang onto windmill and use the sword instead of endlessly shield bashing

if you watch LS speed runs, they still mostly use IAI Slash/Helmbreaker combos. The damage is still there but it can be rather inconsistent for a lot of situations.
ISS and helmbreaker spam is still the optimal LS play. The problem is that all your damage comes from apart from sacred sheath. It's almost as bad as hammer and impact crater.
Yes. Spirit combos damage isn't that high, and monsters don't stand still long enough to use it. Optimal play is ISS/SK spam within the Harvest Moon circle, swapping to SS/USS on downs. You can skip HM if it's too much discomfort, and foresight slash is still useful for multihit counter set ups. If you're min maxing you ditch SS/USS entirely for Dereliction HM ISS/SK, but in multiplayer you can get more value out of sacred sheathe and sakura slash due to the monsters being distracted more often.

I use this combo. There's some other anons who suggest spiral thrust or hopping backwards, but I like this because you're guarding half the time you're moving and the thrust at the end does 3 hits with decent damage

Honestly, coming from someone who has played lance alot...I wouldn't really recommend it. It's far less fun then anything aside from bowguns
Use leaping thrust, charge/shield charge, spiral thrust, or backhop forwards which you could be doing on GL as well.
Shield tackle forward dodge also works, guarded for the tackle (and don't use stamina) doesn't move you as far as dash and leaping thrust though. Honestly though I usually just charge.
