I FINALLY Got it working after hours and hours including a full redownload of 28.3gb. In the end it worked when I just left it at 1% installing 0b/s and after 30minutes the bar just disappeared and the game worked.
Oh good, it wasn't so bad on the raptors cause they're such shitters anyway but my god fighting the bears and shit like Tetranadon was cancer. They were harder than shit like Nargacuga. I have no problem with challenge but it does need to be in the right place.
Anyone tested to see if it was actually a nerf? It would actually be a bummer if so.
I don't get the complains people have, I managed to do most afflicted hunts until A3 in ~15 min with full-sets and while trying different weapons and switch skills. I really wish the next set of afflicted has a bigger HP pool and gets faster or something like this to justify actually optimizing my sets.
>only took 5-6 minutes to finish
MonHun threads on Ganker have the biggest population of LARPers and liars I've ever seen, all pretending that they're in the MHM Discord clique and shit
lmao
It does less damage compared to TCS, but it got the ability to redirect the move (even behind you) and if you get it during the windup you don't get thrown away and deal more damage (but I THINK it's still less then TCS)
The problem is TCS damage is really stupid but people forget that hitting them consistently is a pain, especially since you need to commit to a ditrection. Honestly in games like this i always value consistency over pure raw damage
>lets you aim TCS in any direction like rageslash
How do you do that? There's so many times I counter a monster but the move makes it go to the other side of me making the TCS impossible to land

You have to be holding a direction when the parry procs. I like to use it when I know a monster is going to attack and pass behind me and just aim backwards cause they're usually close enough that it'll still hit. Like Rajang and a lot of his moves.
And strong arm is still dependnat on monster AI behaviour and basically luck since you need monsters to do 1 hit moves and you need to anticipate them since trying to counter on reacttion is way too slow. It's basically the perfect speedrun autist move but for casual play good luck getting consistent with it.
>It's basically the perfect speedrun autist move but for casual play good luck getting consistent with it.
It really isn't. I suck at MH, I triple carted to Shagaru like 4 times with fully upgraded MR gear. The thing that makes it fine to use is the fact that you can tackle as well. If you aren't sure if an attack is going to make you eat shit, just tackle instead of strongarming since you can always end with a strongarm or even more tackles. That way even if you don't get more damage you won't be too worse off.

>It doesn't seem like it does as much damage consistently as tackling into TCS
Because it doesn't. Surege slash is fun but it's objectively the least damaging option GS has. It's terrible and you should never use it if damage is your goal. Even if you don't like strongarn/TCS you can still just use rageslash like in base Rise and it'll still out damage surge slash.
You're being too harsh on surge slash. It's not terrible. Yes it doesn't hit the moronic numbers that some of the strongarm counters do but it's still an effective playstyle. There's still multiple ways you can go into charge slashs while using it too. I used Surge Slash through most of my time clearing MR quests and still cleared most hunts with good times.
>There's still multiple ways you can go into charge slashs while using it too
Either jump attack (don't do that) or do the whole combo THEN use the charge attack (super hard to pull of vs real monsters)
Also that may be me, but half of the times I can't find the input to charge up after finishing the combo, is the timing really that fricked up?
ACS also >half of the times I can't find the input to charge up after finishing the combo, is the timing really that fricked up?
I never had an issue but I also tend to just mash forward + Y until the charge comes out. The charge slash after charges very quickly as well. Its pretty much instant if you end your combo with the sweep.
The thing about surge slash vs strongarm is that it's a matter of consistency. Surge slash is easy as frick to use, can keep up with coked out monsters and does acceptable amounts of damage. Strongarm stance is moronic strong but good fricking luck pulling it off consistently, people watch speedruns and forget the hours of abandoned attempts before you get that god RNG to land every single counter perfectly.
>Strongarm stance is moronic strong but good fricking luck pulling it off consistently
And you seem to forget that you don't have to just spam the counter at every possible moment, you can just use TCS as it always was. I swear rageslash has turned GS users into shitters by how easy it was.

Yeah no, nice deflection but that ain't gonna work uber shitter. I never get sub 10 minute kill times and even I can pull it off decently enough. If I can do it then your average player can too. You just suck. Cope, seethe and also dilate you crybaby b***h.

I agree. I used to almost exclusively after I unlocked it and felt like I was getting worse at the game when I'd try to go back to TCS. Of course Hysteria counter is really good but Rage Slash is very easy to consistently hit with.

It's not landing the counter that's inconsistent it's landing TCS itself.

>GS requires positioning and timing >this is now a bad thing
You don't even need to do it that consistently. It does such a ridiculous amount of damage that even if you only pull it off a third of the time it's still going to out damage using anything else. Speedrunners will do it 100% of the time. The averagely competent GS user can do it half of the time. If you can't pull it off enough to get it's use then that's a you problem. You need to get better at it instead of relying on a crutch or you'll never improve.
>There's still multiple ways you can go into charge slashs while using it too
They're all way too clunky though that it detracts from the fun of using it in the first place and I'd rather just use my regular move that flows into everything else much better.
This, I haven’t had a single afflicted monster take more than 14 minutes with surge slash, on the first attempt mind you and my charm sucks dick, without a r10 weapon
It’s really comfy for afflicted since it lets you hit the wack parts like hind legs easier than regular charge
Are you playing with TCS or Rage Slash?
I'm debating if TCS is worth it with Surge slash, but I think I got used to RS too much.
I like it, but I notice it move you a bit too much around.
Rage slash seem kinda better because of less miss chance compared to TCS
I keep it on the other scroll to wake up monsters
My brother, just take the surge slash pill and become the bane of all fast pace coked up monsters. Combine with rage slash for maximum big dick unga armor energy
>Strongarm stance makes me rage
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I kept reading and seeing videos about how le meta it is but my enjoyment of the weapon has gone down considerably since I've started trying to use it. Actually using it as a counter on most monsters ends with me eating shit. You literally have to blow yourself up with little bombs if you want to reliably get damage from it, which feels super lame.
unironically get good and start learning monster patterns & animation startups
Malzeno is a great fight for this in his first phase since lots of the moves have single hits and noticable tells
So I assume Surge Slash is better for elemental since you get more hits, has anyone tried elemental GS yet? I've been playing GL but want to get into GS, what are some good sets to use for it?
Rage slas had a whopping 300% elemental modifier (dunno if it's still that big), so unless they gave for some reason more then 100% proc on each hit, it's not even that much better.
Add the new Charge master skill into the mix and....
Apparently the sweep attacks have a high elemental multiplier too but I haven't tried a elemental set yet. I did use a paralysis GS for a few hunts and it was proccing pretty quickly
>Fixed a bug causing your Palico's Support Moves to change randomly when teaching them certain Secret Support Moves
So it wasn't just the lottery box gimmick lol
>Deviants are reintroduced in TUs >Just the Apexes, but with their Deviant coloration, tweaked moves and hitzones to be harder >Deviant Armor returns
YFW
It seems pretty good to me, but then again I haven't been playing with damage numbers so for all I know it absolutely sucks shit. Fun though.
Doesn't seem anyone knows for sure yet but it's working pretty well for me Might be shit tho
I remember when they datamined all the skills there was one that buffed element on charged attack (I assume it was charge master) and it was 5/10/15% (2.5/5/10% for bow lol)
Honestly speaking, doesn't seem too crazy but also not necessary bad?
Fun fact: it also said the buff worked for CB and SnS, and I think it mean the CB double slash and SnS backward jumping attack
Hammer one was a bit borderline, but still not that harder then a GS charged attack
Lance one was litterally faster then your other spammed move, the charged slap
>huge animation commitment
Lance’s had a GP at the start and propelled you to the other side of the monster, it was harder to get hit using it than to dodge
Has anyone else experienced slow installation with the new patch? My disk usage keeps plummeting and I don't know if it's an issue with my PC or if it's RE engine stuff going on.
Yeah and that would end up invalidating the specific element resistant decos, which are actually level 1. Granted, you'd never slot them anyway but the logic behind it is there.
When people talk about using damage skills vs comfort skills they don't seem to realize just how awfully inefficient utility skills are compared to damage skills. Why would I slot in something like this when I can get 2 wirebug whisperer with the same slot usage. Utility skills are way more expensive than they have any right being.
>Handholding >make her wear dresses so she looks embarassed about her femininity >forhead kisses >love making for procreation purposes >hunting together >eating meat together after a hunt >getting our armor sets matched up >Having babies >proposing to her >Having more babies >Living till old age with her >more handholding >Love
This fricking shitweasel is such a garbage fight that they could have straight up ported 4th gen Agnaktor into the game complete with robot turns and it'd still be a million times better
Also, pretty sure even Capcom acknowledges that it DID steal the gimmick considering Magmadron's opening cutscene
You'll still eat shit on the recovery for some counters and although the damage is buffed you still have to actually fight the monster for a bit in normal play
Hammerbros thoughts on the charge types in sunbreak ? ive been mostly using courage charge pretty good for fast mons that have a large weakpoints but i think strength still beats it just because of keeping sway fixing the negatives of strength charge
Pokes and charged slap have been buffed by around 20%. Anchor rage has been buffed, no longer has its level lowered by guard skills and lasts twice as long. Instant block is now much easier to land and does a great amount of damage. If you're asking about general mobility, of course it can't keep up with swaxe, but I'm getting minutes faster clear times than I was in basegame Rise. I have not used the new sky-poke silkbind one singular time because instant block feels so good to pull off and I save anchor rage for attacks that would make me eat chip damage (such as the third part of G-rank Crimson Valstrax's big laser after sidestepping the first two parts).
I do have 19 in Iceborne. When I mained Lance in Tri, and played online, I hated LS so much I swore I would never use it. I remember getting the elf sailor LS and trying it out, but I was a solohunter that whole game.
I don't have a single IG play though
>should I enjoy the game more or rush it?
Honestly, play a little bit the HR, build some armor, craft some shit, farm some talisman etc...
Also now that I think, you unlock SB after beating narwa, so you should at least get to HR100 and unlock all the High rank monsters first
I sure hope all of that crit eye is coming from your armour pieces because if you're slotting in crit eye with decos before WEX you're already doing something very wrong.
You can easily max attack boost, crit eye, WEX, crit boost and wirebug whisperer with the right weapon and even have enough room to max one of the sharpness skills.
Fun fact, that gem give you extra 10% crit, while the same in WEX would give you 15%.
You can easily max attack boost, crit eye, WEX, crit boost and wirebug whisperer with the right weapon and even have enough room to max one of the sharpness skills.
>ehi guys, what's better between x and y? >just build the z endgame set
lol
I already answered the question moron. Drop crit eye and use WEX instead. In fact I'd probably say change your armour to stuff with attack boost instead because crit is very much an all or nothing kind of deal and if you can't nearly max your affinity with crit boost, it's not worth the investment at all. Shit like resentment would net you more damage.
critical eye 7 give 40% affinity (10% raw boost)
Adding WEX give +12.5% raw boost on top of that 10% for a total of 22.5%, but only on weakpoints
Adding CB trasform that 10% into a 16%
you can set it up so you instantly enter camera mode with the d-pad, then click in stick for owl mode and snap
Takes a bit of practice but what else are you gonna be doing while in a long ass animation anyway
Damn, gonna try it, seem so fun but I tought it was impossible to pull it off

It's fun, I like the photo mode a lot so finding new opportunities for "action shots" became another part of the hunt

Yeah, that make sense
It's like farming for that mantle, but it's just a cool photo
Rise hammer is the least fun hammer has ever been. Everything new is just a pointless overcomplication that adds nothing to a formerly already perfect moveset.
>hammer users shit and white about hammer no longer being king of KO >here have a mode that's better at KOing, flows really well and gives you an elemental/status option >NOOOOO I FRICKIN HATE IT
What the frick is hard to understand about people not wanting any of that bullshit and just wanting the numbers for normal hammer play to not be shit? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Hammer didn't need any improving and this bullshit has only made it more cumbersome to use.
The issue with KO is that it's capped hard as frick, same thing with status. Hammer really should be able to get like 4-5 KOs in a hunt but instead it just gets 2 really early while other weapons will just squeeze in 1 or 2 while also having other options.
In a singleplayer hunt I can often get like 4-5 KOs, but the multiplayer scaling means you'll be lucky to get a third before the monster dies
And it's a hard thing to balance, because the game keeps adding more and more other ways for monsters to get stunned, a lot of new monsters have phases that give a long stun if you break it, should the game really let you slap 5 KOs on top of that?
As a long time hammer player, since the third generation, I'm convinced it's just Worlsperm upset they cant just spam their Reddit-spin move over and over again to clear everything anymore.
Sunbreak hammer moveset is the best it has ever been, only second to GU Brave hammer.
>here have a mode that's better at KOing, flows really well and gives you an elemental/status option
here have a weapon that isnt even hammer lol what a good addition. Cant wait for next MH to remove the original style completely and making it courage only like what happened to HH in Rise.
>hold R and run around waiting for openings while charging your hammer, but now your charges combo into bigger charges >they fundamentally ruined hammer it's not even the same weapon anymore I'm going to cry
You just sound like you have the deathly case of boomerism, the only thing wrong with "new" hammer is that it didn't come unscathed from Rise's parry obsession.
Hammer's "classic" playstyle is shit for the same reason crit draw GS was. It relied entirely on robotic 90 degree turn monster AI so you could walk up and begin a golf swing combo because you knew the monster was specifically going to do a clunky turn to face you before anything else.
Those moves are still in the game but suck because monsters would wreck your shit for trying it now.

Although it's rare for you to play like that anymore, there is still good use in the triangle combo because now the first two hits can have their recovery cancelled by waterstrike, making them a safe "option select" for different monster attacks
I struggle to think of a useless hammer move, except for maybe that awful side smash you replace with water strike
Having a weapon do decent enough damage that the monster actually reacts instead of feeling like you're hitting a brick wall helps a lot
That was the problem Lance had in the base game and even in Iceborne, the moveset was functional and fun enough but you might as well have been swinging a pool noodle
So i might have made a mistake.
I did not know that archdemon set made you lose health outside of the fight as well.
I use lance. I really should have slotted Malzeno instead
Just swallow a gourmet fish it heals all the red and gives you some regen for 90 seconds. I'm sending all my dogs out to get popfish and turning them into gourmet fish at the canteen, you also get infinite Dango Vouchers for this so you can always get Shifter and Recovery or whatever you want.
oh damn. I forgot about cooking food like that.
Huh.
What if i combine bloodlust with Archdemon.
Who needs health right?
How's lance now? Last time I played it was back in base World and it was fine.
Can it keep up with something like SwAxe?
Lance is decent damage in sunbreak.
I still wish the hops and skips werent so small in comparison to gunlance.
Its the one change that lance could use since monsters never fricking stop moving away from you.
Other than that. Its alright.
Is there a use for the two circle silkbinds for the HBG if you use a spread build? It seems like the range caps out anyway and doesn't hit, even though it says I'm in critical, and the other one is obviously for a pierce build
In my experience, you run in when you think it's safe, get hit, then try to wirefall back in and get hit again, repeating until you either run out of bugs or die like an absolute fricking moron
camp the edge of the arena
or stop being a pussy and go in the middle
Frick it, I'm soloing, I won't run out of Farcasters.
In my experience, you run in when you think it's safe, get hit, then try to wirefall back in and get hit again, repeating until you either run out of bugs or die like an absolute fricking moron
If you're a pussy, farcaster out and wait until the attack is done.
If you're a chad, run away until the light ball explodes, run in and hit Narwa hard to topple it before it shoots the second light ball.

>we need you to find those 2MB of data and change it to those other 2MB >are you crazy? this is coded so badly there is not way to find it specifically >ok, then make em subtly reinstall the whole game
Trying to learn the new Switchaxe counter, but how the frick do I refill the sword meter if it goes beow the threshold so that I need to reload if I want to get back to sword? I usualy use the switchskill that the counter replaced, where you lunge forward and replenished lots of sword energy.
The combat itself is pretty stupid but the teambuilding is complex enough, imagine if you could hatch your Paper from eggs until your Paper actually got Scissor property and hit adiacent player too but only because you fine tuned the genes during the hatching
Speaking of which, do I need to chop at the very end of Gastrodon’s tail to actually cut it or can I cut anywhere on it? I thought I remembered Akantor and Ukanlos having that annoying property, not sure though. I know Chameleos did for sure.
>32 minutes to kill the final boss >carted twice
What the frick was that. Dude is the size of a mountain but still flies around the arena at mach 10. I swear they designed all these master rank fights around ranged weapons because I could barely find time to deal damage in between his explosions and laser beams
Started from 3U and I think the only quest I actually timed out was the last Gogmazios in 4U.
That shit had so much health, I remember finally beating it with a GS set I did just for that
I don't know why anyone wants Gog to come back, even on jap TA sites the only sub 10 runs I could find were bowguns using heroics. My first time against that butthole had me seriously worried I was going to time out.
Siege fights in general are pretty shit, there's a reason they're basically the only monsters that rarely if ever come back. People remember the spectacle but forget that slapping Shen Gaoren's ankles for 30 minutes isn't exactly fun.
Gog and the Battlegrounds would be perfect in Rise >wirebug platforming around the map >ballistas/cannons/etc actually worth a damn now >Gog himself is a neat, unique design
He even has a Demolisher on the stage that acts like a Splitting Wyvernshot, Gog almost feels like proto Ibushi/Narwa
Feeling a lot better about my 20 minute kill time for the first attempt, thanks man. Is it even possible to blow up all the back tumors before satan projectile vomits?
No, at best you can destroy 2.
Even in MP when everyone is shooting the orbs, in my experience you also only get enough time to destroy 2 since their HP is scaled up for MP.
With SoS online may actually be worse, the health should scale istantly, but the person may take some time to come down and gun down it so you can find youself shotting solo at a 3x health target
Unlucky, but can totally happen
It's possible, but difficult because he keeps wiggling around and you still need to shoot down the homing orbs too or else they will persistently hunt you down to your death. I can only get it about half the time, for some reason I feel like the cannons deployed closer to the center of the arrangement have an easier time of it.
GLs do you guys use something else when going for tails? I haven't figured out the best way to cut tails yet. I would slaplance but none of my gear is built for that.
R8 how are these skills for Power Phial Switch Axes?
Also Chain Crit should be at 3, the website doesn't have the Archfiend Armor Ura skill at its correct level for some reason.
power prolonger is not necessary since you can insta amp your weapon and have an insane buildup combo with 2 staged morph
agitator is eh
honestly i would just run gaisma + malzeno and partbreaker 3 over these old attack buffs
Are the follower quests actually beefed up in terms of HP or am I just absolutely moronic?
I assumed it might be a /skill issue/ thing because MP hunts are faster, but also my solo hunts are faster as well so I don't if I'm missing something or what.
They are tuned to however many hunters are with you at once. That being said, your Followers are not the best hunters at all, in fact they're fairly shit. They will pale in comparison to your weaponry and skill, but they'll largely carry most of their weight. You just have to make up that difference.
No one ever talks about it, but I miss LS being a simple weapon where you just strung attacks together elegantly with Fade Slashes. Technically that playstyle is still in the game, but the damage is just awful.
I still like Valor LS better than IB/SB’s too, just needed a nerf to the Valor sheathe.
to think LS didn't even have spirit levels
It was litterally "attack normally, feel a bar and use that bar to do a fancy and strong combo"
That said, I feel the real problem move isn't even the counter, but the helm breaker and now the special sheath
I dunno, maybe buff the spirit combo damage?
They moved from building and spending meter to the meter being pretty trivial and you build and spend spirit levels instead
I don't really like it either
This
LS before >ok, use that move to gain extra meter so you can do the combo faster
LS now >ok, use that move to gain extra LEVELS so you can do that move faster
Honestly speaking, they could remove the whole bar and only have the levels and nothing would really change from modern LS
It's basically a glorified timer for the special sheath charge
Someone posted a chart a while back showing that longsword's MVs for the basic moves have actually gone down over the years, with Rise being a low point
I've done a few hunts where I just throw out sakura slashes on cooldown with the occasional sacred sheathe inbetween and they've been disturbingly easy
What about Tetraseal? It got buffed plus combos with the new explosion kinsects well.
Tornado is still better and faster for general purpose, but at the same time Powder bugs are significantly better than before, so give Tetra a try
It's faster than before, but you still have to be aware of the animation time
i don't really like tetraseal slash that much. even if it was fully better than tornado slash i would still use tornado because of how easy it is to hit specific parts of monsters.
Yeah, and both tetraseal and advancing roundslash will eat your sharpness whole while being tricky to aim where you want. The defaults might be boring but at least they're quick and reliable.
Is the Valor HBG Silkbind thing any good? I remember people being hyped when it appeared in a trailer, but I haven’t seen anyone talk about HBG as a whole since launch.
Friendly reminder to use Dango Super Recovery lvl4 if you're using Dereliction or Bloodlust. You get permanent hp regen all quest and it stacks with Gourmet Fish regen too
Someone posted a chart a while back showing that longsword's MVs for the basic moves have actually gone down over the years, with Rise being a low point
I've done a few hunts where I just throw out sakura slashes on cooldown with the occasional sacred sheathe inbetween and they've been disturbingly easy
A lot of weapons had that problem in base Rise, LS Hammer DB Lance etc had all their damage crammed into the new attacks
Lance's lunge got NERFED going into Rise when it was already just a weak repositioning move.
>realize I never unlocked Dango Insurance >look up how to get it
Seems simple, how come literally no one ever seems to have it in SOS? I can count the number of times I’ve seen the “remaining carts: 3” on one hand.
Switch axe got an entirely new bnb sequence and you can mix it up with your previous morph combos depending on what you want
SnS is back to infinite combo loops
LS plays almost nothing like it did pre-sunbreak
Wide and long gunlances enjoy shell shell eruption cannon A LOT
That's from the weapons i'm playing regularly
Apparently incest glaive actually has a reason to use tetraseal and stay in the air all the time
Mh... do you want the best speedrunning meta? yeah, go assist
But powder now got a fun niche too, so you are not totally gimping youself for using them

That sounds like a lot of fun. 90% of the clouds just hanging about uselessly have always been a huge factor in why they where so weak.
All you can do is practice. I'd suggest playing the weapon exclusively for a little bit and maybe even just try the same monster over and over until you can do it gud.
My problem is my timing mainly. I either try to counter too late, or I'm just standing there like a moron charging my counter for an attack that never happens and then I run out of time to do it.
this guy has a thing for all of the females around the camp. Watching him trying to get everyone's attention is cute. Knowing he's got the princess his his paws is downright dirty.
japs will hate you if you use it cos everyone else has went out of their way to tryhard with their skills and they believe that you're basically leeching off them if you aren't doing the same
Its pretty good, I have +3 from the Bharbania set and I get 2 extra monster (target) drops and 1 extra quest reward drop. The set also has capture master for yet another drop if capping and on top of that I use pilfer cats. Loot out the ass
Just kill one and see how many hits it takes for you to kill them, then for the next bug hit them the same amount of times -1 hit, and finish them off with throwing knives, or let your pets finish them off for a guaranteed corpse to carve.
Rampages should have been some sort of gauntlet where you fight from 3 to 6 monsters one after another, helped by weapons and the gong to make it as long as a 2/3 monster quest
>feel like I am getting the hang on SnS >kill Khezu for the sisters quest in 9 minutes >go on to Shagaru Magala >zero death, good uptime on him, cut his tail pretty early and just slam damage into there >37 minutes
frick I am shit at this game.
I'm not sure you realize how little damage uptime you had on him if it took 37 minutes unless you were using some HR weapon still and virtually no offensive skills.
I dislike all the wirebug and environmental nonsense because they nerf all the old stuff to somehow compensate.
Mushroomancer and evasion suck, status is pretty pointless to run, and the meats may as well not exist
Status is pointless because dogs and cats appear in multiplayer now, before you could do group strats with para/sleep stuff, but now you’re basically guaranteed a proc from Endemic Life Barrage at some point anyway.
>nd the meats may as well not exist
That’s every game to be fair, they were only for Deviljho in practice since not even Tigrex would eat it if you set it down in front of him.
Also, I just realized they finally removed Bounce Bombs
>status is pretty pointless to run
Yes, status was worthless since mh4, even since 3u if you are minmaxer
Has nothing to do with wirebugs and environmental >bbbbut world was my first game and I heard status
Sleephunt always was a meme, para before was changed was even more worthless than now because it allowed only one hit, and poison damage always was too small
Actually pretty sure people would still run sleep if gs wasn't changed in world
I personally more worried about mh4 killing elem weapons for no reason at all, capcom really need to go back for having one skill that increases both status and all elem damage
not terrible, CB is a valuable skill and with the lv2 slot you can basically get another one for free
Divine is just some nice bonus that could very rarely save your ass
>Decide to go back to world for a lil bit >Stygian Zinogre quest not done >Give it a go >Triple Cart faster than you can say so tasty >Didn't triple cart once in Sunbreak
Bruh
Watching that slow ass getting up animation kills me now
I dunno if you are just trying yet another "uh world hard rise easy" shitpost, but honestly it's pretty normal, you got tools in Rise you don't have in world, and you got used to those tools
SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Give me a fun anomly tier hammer build. I need something to work towards and haven't looked at all the new skills yet. Focus is the only thing my tired brain can think of for the set to charge up the hammer. Any input skills to search or specific equipment would be welcome so I can start to throw some shit of the wishlist. Sunday I can spend a good 3 hours autistically doing homework on a fun build or min max build.
You can only hack them in a """"realistic"""" way
So 2 base skills and 3 slots
the 2 base skills are full attack/crit
the 3 slots are used for 4ranks in crit element and 2rank for ME, simply because the lv4 israeliteels only give 2 ranks
I've heard stories about how it used to be only the final hit but then became every hit must be cutting and now the first story again. Surely anon wouldn't lie to me though?
People hope that by keeping the hate high they are going to revert it in the next MH
...honestly, just make an hybrid of them.
Keep this moveset, but make it so the songs are actually complex now and require the R to get applied.
Also ffs unnerf hearplug and stamina song, moronic change
>require the R to get applied.
This is moronic and why I always hated HH. You should get some kind benefit for hitting the notes it doesn't need to be the full song effect but something.
Could tweak the double note system
Hitting a monster for all 3-4 swings of a song instantly applies the small version of the buff or refreshes it if it's already up, then if you do a recital you get the encore immediately
>I don't want hh to play like musical instrument
old hh shitters show their true colors > you can press R to deal good damage
all hh's attacks except for x+a never had good damage
There’s a lot of MH2 fanservice in Sunbreak I’m noticing, they might be bringing Tower back because they plan on adding Yama Tsukami or White Fatalis at some point. As for why it wasn’t in the base game, I don’t know. Probably just because they want it to be for special monsters only like rare species and shit.
I really like a lot of the new/returning monsters we got, but damn I wish we had Nerscylla+Agnaktor instead of Pyre Rakna and Magma Almudron.
Chuck in Malfestio and it'd be such an outstanding roster.
>For A1 and A2 quests, the health for all monsters and the attack power of some monsters has been adjusted.
I hope this stop anons from complaining about the giant HP bloat
It looked very different from the Rise one so it was totally possible a good fake someone did.
Imagine doing that, people talk about it and then suddenly it's revealed fake. I would for sure take a look at the guy who did such a good work on it
The only things that haven't been officially announced that can be determined from weapon descriptions are some Espinas subspecies, Silverlos/Goldian, and some mystery monster with a really flowery weapon description about butterflies wings
Anything beyond that is horseshit.
Technically Chaotic is a Gore subspecies not a Shagaru one so it's possible

That reminds me, if they took steve's weapon gimmick they're probably not going to bring back Chaotic's weapon gimmick, or else make it into an armor skill

Good question, I think because it required a lot of work to give it justice so they are using him for a Title update.
...insane amount of copium from my side, I know
A flashing of this untarnished, divine blade leaves butterflies in its bloodthirsty wake.
Steeped in Bazelgeuse spite, this blade summons calamity in a vortex of blazing fury.
A beautiful sunset colored blade that yet harbors the raging power of Espinas.
A long sword that blends a Silver Rathalos soul with a Wyvern Blade. It reduces all to ash.
A queen's blade blessed by the power of the moon to overcome all adversity.
An ebon long sword, black as night. Its dark flashes leave no afterimages when swung.
The fourth of the Seven Stars, taken form. If a foe sees it drawn, it's already too late.
In order >APPARENTLY Mizu sub since it's right after him in the data >Seething Bazelgeuse >Espinas Subspecies >Silver Rathalos >Gold Rathian >Lucent Nargacuga >Lucent Nargacuga (upgraded)
Amazing, an unsourced screencap of a wishlist that has japanese text in it
This is totally a legitimate leak, completely unlike that other one that had Nergigante and Legiana in it
I can't wait for to fight Namielle in TU1, despite their being absolutely no datamined evidence for it at all unlike others like Seething and Metal Raths
Fricking hate that DLC only focuses on endgame stuff and not patching up the obvious omissions in the roster like Agnaktor, Zamtrios or even Velociprey.
If they DID add mid-tier mons like those in title updates, they'd either >be irrelevant immediately, so you'd fight them 2-3 times for their gear and then never again (like with Frostfang being added in the same update as Alatreon) >be buffed to high hell for no good reason, resulting in nonsense like Zamtrios somehow being on the same level as Rajang
If they miss the boat, they wait until the next game.
I’d settle for Rare species versions that just behave like buffed up versions of the originals if that’s what it takes
Just straight up add Drilltusk Tetsucabra with Blizzard Zamtrios and Erupting Agnaktor or something
>>be buffed to high hell for no good reason, resulting in nonsense like Zamtrios somehow being on the same level as Rajang
I mean we already got hit by that shit in iceborne with rajang
rajang never was above mh2 elder dragon trio, until iceborne
Actually he always was garuga tier, with both of them being above tigrex

Garuga was a fricking rathian tier monster in FU and 4U, what? Rajang is usually introduced in the same quest tier as the elders too, he's only "above" them in IB because he was in a title update.

>Garuga was a fricking rathian tier monster in FU
Garuga was rathian copy paste down to every move, but above rathalos tier in fu
Honestly, I dunno what I want from the TU.
I dislike the world way "ok, new gears better", but it would kinda feel bad for the new gears to be worse then what we already have >resulting in nonsense like Zamtrios somehow being on the same level as Rajang
Right now 2 of the best GS are Rajang and...the Jyura one.
We already got there thanks to the new "every weapon get to rank10" gimmick and I love it
Hammer Bros, IC or the buff? Trying to use both against these fast as frick monsters makes me miss my windows and shit.
I'm thinking just use the buff and use all my bugs on Swaying and swap to IC on downs.
Apparently two Charged Brutal BBs is better DPS than the full BBC combo now.

Anyone else having their steam constantly verifying and not being able to install the new patch? I've been stuck for hours.

Neat
Oh good, it wasn't so bad on the raptors cause they're such shitters anyway but my god fighting the bears and shit like Tetranadon was cancer. They were harder than shit like Nargacuga. I have no problem with challenge but it does need to be in the right place.
glad i did them before they nerfed them, I mean they werent exactly tough but their hp was way too bloated
Yup I love surge slash too. I'm trying to get used to strong arm one step at a time. It feels good to pull a counter with big numbers.
oops meant for
Anyone tested to see if it was actually a nerf? It would actually be a bummer if so.
I don't get the complains people have, I managed to do most afflicted hunts until A3 in ~15 min with full-sets and while trying different weapons and switch skills. I really wish the next set of afflicted has a bigger HP pool and gets faster or something like this to justify actually optimizing my sets.
>afflicted hunts were piss easy compared to tempered and only took 5-6 minutes to finish
>still nerf them
>only took 5-6 minutes to finish
MonHun threads on Ganker have the biggest population of LARPers and liars I've ever seen, all pretending that they're in the MHM Discord clique and shit
lmao
The fact he brought up fricking tempered monsters as a positive comparison just means he's only trying to stir shit, don't bother
To be fair, A1 took me always less than 10 min besides my first hunt, and that's because I was testing the afflicted stuff.

Surge slash is fun and cool
Strongarm stance makes me rage and I think I'm done trying to use it outside of roars
Are you playing with TCS or Rage Slash?
I'm debating if TCS is worth it with Surge slash, but I think I got used to RS too much.
How do I into surge slash? It doesn't seem like it does as much damage consistently as tackling into TCS, but I could just be bad
It does less damage compared to TCS, but it got the ability to redirect the move (even behind you) and if you get it during the windup you don't get thrown away and deal more damage (but I THINK it's still less then TCS)
He meant the new GS combo moves, not the Rage Slash.
I got baited by the comparison to TCS, frick me
Then no, it's just straight up worse because they still balanced the game around being able to TCS but it's very fun
The problem is TCS damage is really stupid but people forget that hitting them consistently is a pain, especially since you need to commit to a ditrection. Honestly in games like this i always value consistency over pure raw damage
Which is complete a non issue when strongarm stance lets you aim TCS in any direction like rageslash.
>lets you aim TCS in any direction like rageslash
How do you do that? There's so many times I counter a monster but the move makes it go to the other side of me making the TCS impossible to land
You have to be holding a direction when the parry procs. I like to use it when I know a monster is going to attack and pass behind me and just aim backwards cause they're usually close enough that it'll still hit. Like Rajang and a lot of his moves.
And strong arm is still dependnat on monster AI behaviour and basically luck since you need monsters to do 1 hit moves and you need to anticipate them since trying to counter on reacttion is way too slow. It's basically the perfect speedrun autist move but for casual play good luck getting consistent with it.
my go to combo is X/A/X+A into charged slash intoi rage slash. Fricking ridiculous damage
>It doesn't seem like it does as much damage consistently as tackling into TCS
Because it doesn't. Surege slash is fun but it's objectively the least damaging option GS has. It's terrible and you should never use it if damage is your goal. Even if you don't like strongarn/TCS you can still just use rageslash like in base Rise and it'll still out damage surge slash.
>finally make GS fun
>spamming the exact same move over and over is still far more effective
Guess I'll go back to swaxe or something.
ACS also
>half of the times I can't find the input to charge up after finishing the combo, is the timing really that fricked up?
I swear rageslash has turned GS users into shitters by how easy it was.
>can just use TCS as it always was
Not with how fast monsters are now.
Ok so now you're just whining that MR is too hard for you. Try LS, it might be more up your alley.
> t. Speedtroony
Yeah no, nice deflection but that ain't gonna work uber shitter. I never get sub 10 minute kill times and even I can pull it off decently enough. If I can do it then your average player can too. You just suck. Cope, seethe and also dilate you crybaby b***h.
>I never get sub 10 minute kill times

>I accept your consession.

When someone concedes? Yes, that is implied in the definition of the word. Sorry, champ.
Also an easy way to spot someone not worth replying to. Take your last you and frick off. Hopefully someday you can stop being such a whiney shitter and actually improve yourself for once in the miserable existence you call a life.
>I swear rageslash has turned GS users into shitters by how easy it was
>GS requires positioning and timing
>this is now a bad thing
The bomb trick for normal play is only worth for a chunky wake up hit, don't get baited too much by speedrunners
unironically get good and start learning monster patterns & animation startups
Malzeno is a great fight for this in his first phase since lots of the moves have single hits and noticable tells
I tried that but at this point I'd rather just enjoy the game and not use this move anymore
The bomb thing isn't a big deal outside of wakeups. Just learn monster tells. Don't use focus if you are going to go for counters.
Nah strongarm sucks and is speedtroony reset bait. It’s too clunky to be actually enjoyable, why do you need to mash it out?
>mash it out
What? Hold l2/lt and release it. It feels clunky at first but after an hour I could do it reliably.
Seemed dogshit to me even using the 100+ dragon element umbrella
>Fixed a bug causing your Palico's Support Moves to change randomly when teaching them certain Secret Support Moves

Having a blast with GL
Anyone know when you unlock layered armor for Sunbreak? Just hit credits and was expecting to get them straight after, but nope
You unlock them with afflicted monsters at MR10, they drop the new outfit vouchers
Have fun with the 1 voucher per quest drop rate
I fricking hate medling so much
>Deviants are reintroduced in TUs
>Just the Apexes, but with their Deviant coloration, tweaked moves and hitzones to be harder
>Deviant Armor returns
YFW
It'd be kinda lame tbh, straight up removing content at launch only to add it later and pretend it's a bonus to their "massive expansion"
>deviant coloration
I honestly think Apex Mizu looks better, I like the blue fur way better than Soulseer's
Deviants were Generations’ gimmick, they aren’t coming back.
Just bring back the movesets instead of abandoning them like SB did
is elemental hammer w/ charge master legit? it got elemental MV buffs, + the drons, auroracanth and narwa hammers have absurd elemental values
It seems pretty good to me, but then again I haven't been playing with damage numbers so for all I know it absolutely sucks shit. Fun though.
Doesn't seem anyone knows for sure yet but it's working pretty well for me
Might be shit tho
I remember when they datamined all the skills there was one that buffed element on charged attack (I assume it was charge master) and it was 5/10/15% (2.5/5/10% for bow lol)
Honestly speaking, doesn't seem too crazy but also not necessary bad?
Fun fact: it also said the buff worked for CB and SnS, and I think it mean the CB double slash and SnS backward jumping attack
I dunno, but I've been using it for most of MR just because Courage is a lot more to play than Strength.
Gonna try IG again for the first time since 4, did Sunbreak improve it
Absolutely, you can play it in many ways and while there is always one meta, the other work fine too
I tried it for the first time since 4U and I had no idea what was going on, a lot of powder and explosions
I’ve never played any other weapon, monster hunter is just an acrobatics sim for me.
how do you deal with tails being a shitzone?
lance bros we are finally fricking popular! This is striker in genu all over again.
>Lance saved
>hammer saved
>Charge blade saved
dunno about GL, but they did a good job on the weapons
GL is saved too by bullet by0t0warrage.
Isn't that a base Rise hammer/lance situation?
>your weapon bad? Just spam this wireart!
>Just spam this attack with a long cooldown and huge animation commitment!
Was never the case, stop falling for shitposter propaganda
Hammer one was a bit borderline, but still not that harder then a GS charged attack
Lance one was litterally faster then your other spammed move, the charged slap
>huge animation commitment
Lance’s had a GP at the start and propelled you to the other side of the monster, it was harder to get hit using it than to dodge
Has anyone else experienced slow installation with the new patch? My disk usage keeps plummeting and I don't know if it's an issue with my PC or if it's RE engine stuff going on.
If any other anons stumble upon this, I ended up having to redownload the whole game.
I had the same issue, I just paused and restarted my download and it fixed it
Does the patch break mods?
Anyone?
Can you even launch the game without Steam trying to force through the update.
lmao why the frick does this 4 slot gem only give 2 ranks of blight resistance?
Because Blight Res itself is a level 2 skill. It's actually consistent with other level 2 skills.
I can't wait for 2 rank WEX/CB lv4 deco coming with the title updates
yeah it just seems useless though, in world i think you could slot blight resist as level 1 decs?
Yeah and that would end up invalidating the specific element resistant decos, which are actually level 1. Granted, you'd never slot them anyway but the logic behind it is there.
When people talk about using damage skills vs comfort skills they don't seem to realize just how awfully inefficient utility skills are compared to damage skills. Why would I slot in something like this when I can get 2 wirebug whisperer with the same slot usage. Utility skills are way more expensive than they have any right being.

You can for sure in the generic one where you choose 2, can't remember the single ones
Remember when people were sperging about Magmadron "stealing" Agnaktors gimmick?
I hate Magmadron and I hate Pyre Khadaki
This fricking shitweasel is such a garbage fight that they could have straight up ported 4th gen Agnaktor into the game complete with robot turns and it'd still be a million times better
Also, pretty sure even Capcom acknowledges that it DID steal the gimmick considering Magmadron's opening cutscene
Magmadron is marginally less annoying than the regular form but it's still a total waste of space, everything about it feels redundant
Is Lance really the easiest weapon? It feels so slow and not very powerful.
Lance hits even harder than hammer now
everything hits harder than hammer
SnS and DB are far easier.
It's still decently easy, but get harder if you play the instablock playstyle
You'll still eat shit on the recovery for some counters and although the damage is buffed you still have to actually fight the monster for a bit in normal play
Hammerbros thoughts on the charge types in sunbreak ? ive been mostly using courage charge pretty good for fast mons that have a large weakpoints but i think strength still beats it just because of keeping sway fixing the negatives of strength charge
Strength charge seems fine but it's hard to not use courage because it just feels a bit more intricate
Post weapon cards. I want to see what you homosexuals are using
Gunlance was really fun in base Rise but I haven't picked it back up since the lance buffs. Might try it out again soon.
How's lance now? Last time I played it was back in base World and it was fine.
Can it keep up with something like SwAxe?
Pokes and charged slap have been buffed by around 20%. Anchor rage has been buffed, no longer has its level lowered by guard skills and lasts twice as long. Instant block is now much easier to land and does a great amount of damage. If you're asking about general mobility, of course it can't keep up with swaxe, but I'm getting minutes faster clear times than I was in basegame Rise. I have not used the new sky-poke silkbind one singular time because instant block feels so good to pull off and I save anchor rage for attacks that would make me eat chip damage (such as the third part of G-rank Crimson Valstrax's big laser after sidestepping the first two parts).

>should I enjoy the game more or rush it?
Honestly, play a little bit the HR, build some armor, craft some shit, farm some talisman etc...
Also now that I think, you unlock SB after beating narwa, so you should at least get to HR100 and unlock all the High rank monsters first
Rondine's yeeyee ass haircut
if I have critical eye 7 do I want weakness exploit next or critical boost if I can only pick one
my weapon has 0% affinity
I sure hope all of that crit eye is coming from your armour pieces because if you're slotting in crit eye with decos before WEX you're already doing something very wrong.
yeah 6 with 1 gemmed in
man I hate this bundle shit, everyone uses the same thing and all sets are based around having them
You can easily max attack boost, crit eye, WEX, crit boost and wirebug whisperer with the right weapon and even have enough room to max one of the sharpness skills.
ok but I need to fit in my guard skills too
Ah a fellow lance user?
In this place?
Lets joust our wieners brother
Fun fact, that gem give you extra 10% crit, while the same in WEX would give you 15%.
>ehi guys, what's better between x and y?
>just build the z endgame set
lol
I already answered the question moron. Drop crit eye and use WEX instead. In fact I'd probably say change your armour to stuff with attack boost instead because crit is very much an all or nothing kind of deal and if you can't nearly max your affinity with crit boost, it's not worth the investment at all. Shit like resentment would net you more damage.
got it thanks, I'll try to see what I can make with attack boost
Barroth set is the best way to get attack boost with all your guard skills. You can run the full set and it will do the job honestly.
critical eye 7 give 40% affinity (10% raw boost)
Adding WEX give +12.5% raw boost on top of that 10% for a total of 22.5%, but only on weakpoints
Adding CB trasform that 10% into a 16%
Honestly, WEX is just broken
Is it time for the hammer "chads" to whine about their motion values despite the weapon being more fun than ever
Wait, you can do that???

I mean during a fight, and that fast into owl mode.
you can set it up so you instantly enter camera mode with the d-pad, then click in stick for owl mode and snap
Takes a bit of practice but what else are you gonna be doing while in a long ass animation anyway
Damn, gonna try it, seem so fun but I tought it was impossible to pull it off
It's fun, I like the photo mode a lot so finding new opportunities for "action shots" became another part of the hunt
Just don't expect most of the photos to look good, when you're doing it that quick you can't really fiddle with the zoom or centering or whatever, you just hope for the best
Yeah, that make sense
It's like farming for that mantle, but it's just a cool photo
I would not care if hammer was the worst weapon in the game.
aw shit forgot to attach my usage
Rise hammer is the least fun hammer has ever been. Everything new is just a pointless overcomplication that adds nothing to a formerly already perfect moveset.
>now I can go into level 3 courage charge after my golfswing combo
>this is truly a travesty on classical monhun
Golf swing into instant Courage 3?
There are a lot of new shortcuts into various parts of the courage charge sequence, the moveset flows super well now
Plis eggsblain :DDDDD
Yes
You can also go into an instant courage 2 from yellow 3
>Turn off damage numbers
>Have absolutely no idea if I'm doing significant damage to the monster at all
>Don't care
Feels good man
calculated obliviousness chad
>more fun
lol. Courage and parry alone are garbage enough additions to not make it the most fun, though its still fun because its hammer.
>hammer users shit and white about hammer no longer being king of KO
>here have a mode that's better at KOing, flows really well and gives you an elemental/status option
>NOOOOO I FRICKIN HATE IT
What the frick is hard to understand about people not wanting any of that bullshit and just wanting the numbers for normal hammer play to not be shit? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Hammer didn't need any improving and this bullshit has only made it more cumbersome to use.
>more cumbersome to use
only if you're a brainlet
you simply have more options
Cant wait for next MH to remove the original style completely and making it courage only like what happened to HH in Rise.
>hold R and run around waiting for openings while charging your hammer, but now your charges combo into bigger charges
>they fundamentally ruined hammer it's not even the same weapon anymore I'm going to cry
I struggle to think of a useless hammer move, except for maybe that awful side smash you replace with water strike
this homie using camera mode like a QTE for extra damage
holy fricking kino
Having a weapon do decent enough damage that the monster actually reacts instead of feeling like you're hitting a brick wall helps a lot
That was the problem Lance had in the base game and even in Iceborne, the moveset was functional and fun enough but you might as well have been swinging a pool noodle
having to spam and prioritize impact crater to get any worthwhile damage isn't fun
Wrong game grandpa, courage sequence does about as much as an IC while costing nothing and strength level 3 is very strong
tell me more
what setup do i need
i assume the usual chain crit dereliction?
>IG is useless again
Frick sake... it was finally decent and of course they nerf it...
>defeated gore magala
>they brought back the XR set
>it's fricking shit
can't wait to unlock layered armor
why they put the apples in the ice?
>tfw no Anja Heavenly
WHAT'S AN ACCEPTABLE ALTERNATIVE?
Lance is decent damage in sunbreak.
I still wish the hops and skips werent so small in comparison to gunlance.
Its the one change that lance could use since monsters never fricking stop moving away from you.
Other than that. Its alright.
Is there a use for the two circle silkbinds for the HBG if you use a spread build? It seems like the range caps out anyway and doesn't hit, even though it says I'm in critical, and the other one is obviously for a pierce build
I want to feed the Handler to Hinoa
I’m only up to MR3 but it’s simply too easy bros
>400mb update
what is it?
>very first Malzeno mat was a gem
haha, time to never get another one
How do I dodge Narwa's dragonators?
Farcaster
Frick it, I'm soloing, I won't run out of Farcasters.
In my experience, you run in when you think it's safe, get hit, then try to wirefall back in and get hit again, repeating until you either run out of bugs or die like an absolute fricking moron
camp the edge of the arena
or stop being a pussy and go in the middle
Superman dive constantly in a loop until it ends.
This is what I usually aim for but I won't lie and say I don't eat shit plenty of times too:
If you're a pussy, farcaster out and wait until the attack is done.
If you're a chad, run away until the light ball explodes, run in and hit Narwa hard to topple it before it shoots the second light ball.
What are the best talismans to expect from medling?
Wide Range 1, 0-0-0
I got a wirebug whisperer 3, evade window 2 talisman with no slots.
Give me your frickING mantle, Gainsgolem.
I'm not fricking around anymore.
Hate having to do your fight all the time.
Frick you
*Deals unblockable damage*
See ya next hunt kiddo.
>shuffles across stage
>turns around
>moves one of his 3 weak points as you're trying to hit it
>roars
>roars again
>climbs a wall
heh, nothin' personnel, hunter
>gaisma does a big arm sweep
>counter it
>"oops I was actually doing the big spinny sweep here comes my tail uwu*
>proceeds to do the big gay tantrum slams twice in a row
>some moron is tickling his back feet the whole fight
>boss spins 180 degrees every other attack because of this
I need the tail
there HAS to be a chance to carve a mantle from the tail
..,right?
3% from tail
Then it's a chance I'm willing to take.
Nothing wrong with cutting the tail, this dude was still there even after the tail was cut off
>"rawr here's mah laser :3"
>block it
>"uh actually it does a guaranteed knockdown, sowwy"
>get hit by ground explosion immediately after
Remember to talk to the shipping guy when new goods from other towns arrive as he gives you a souvenir from that town that's worth 10k-30k
why in the frick does this never end
I had to force quit steam and start over and then it patched properly. Something's fricked with the initial patching.
I restarted steam and it gave me MISSING DOWNLOADED FILES in red text and it started back up
Rootkit installed 🙂
japs are literally too moronic when technology is involved
you know what's happening? It's patching a 30GB file very slowly
>we need you to find those 2MB of data and change it to those other 2MB
>are you crazy? this is coded so badly there is not way to find it specifically
>ok, then make em subtly reinstall the whole game
>all these hammer cards/posts
I thought hammer was supposed to be bottom in terms of playrate
Yeah, because they waste time posting on Ganker istead of playing the actual game I guess
test
Trying to learn the new Switchaxe counter, but how the frick do I refill the sword meter if it goes beow the threshold so that I need to reload if I want to get back to sword? I usualy use the switchskill that the counter replaced, where you lunge forward and replenished lots of sword energy.
swap set
swap scrolls my homie
2-Staged Morph Slash Combo is how you build up sword meter now
Wild Swing 1 into Two Stage Morph instantly gives you Sword meter even if you just used it. Do it twice and you're basically back to full.
I think with poison phial one is enough, pretty crazy
Is Stories 2 worth playing or is it literally braindead children's gameplay?
I meanz it's fricking rock paper scissors.
The combat itself is pretty stupid but the teambuilding is complex enough, imagine if you could hatch your Paper from eggs until your Paper actually got Scissor property and hit adiacent player too but only because you fine tuned the genes during the hatching
Wide gunlancing is so fricking comfy and safe.
Feels good to use the CORNPOPPER again, I haven't touched it since FU.
Speaking of which, do I need to chop at the very end of Gastrodon’s tail to actually cut it or can I cut anywhere on it? I thought I remembered Akantor and Ukanlos having that annoying property, not sure though. I know Chameleos did for sure.
>32 minutes to kill the final boss
>carted twice
What the frick was that. Dude is the size of a mountain but still flies around the arena at mach 10. I swear they designed all these master rank fights around ranged weapons because I could barely find time to deal damage in between his explosions and laser beams
I'm afraid you might be moronic
I’m probably going to make a Pierce gunner set just to farm him (and the shitweasels) easier
Does pierce actually melt him like it did the Narwa and Ibushi? Because I might do the same thing.
No idea, I’m just assuming it’ll work since he’s yuge. Check the ingame hitzones I guess.
Pretty sure that it will, simply because it got big weakzones.
Also we now got the special multihit circle on a monster that move relatively not a lot
I used the Magnamalo HBG to farm him, Normal 3 destroys him
If you want to delete shitweasels, you really need piercing element specifically.
Is 32 minutes much? I remember it taking me until the last 10 seconds to kill the 3U's walking volcano.
With 2 carts, every single healing item used and farcastered out with desperation.
The good old days of nearly timing out against superbosses
But yeah, 32 is a lot for nuMH
Started from 3U and I think the only quest I actually timed out was the last Gogmazios in 4U.
That shit had so much health, I remember finally beating it with a GS set I did just for that
These days everyone's standard seems to be about 10 minutes.
It shouldn't be.
Most people average about 20m
If you are getting sub 10 on mr you're either a meta speed homosexual or lying.
I've been misled by the tryhards here on v then.
Shelling doesn't count towards a cut does it?
All tail damage counts towards the cut but the final hit must be done with cutting damage.
Did they change it in rise? I thought it all had to be slashing.
Frick, if it's true I wish HH still had that cutting bonk
Why would you just go on the internet and lie like that?
I don't know why anyone wants Gog to come back, even on jap TA sites the only sub 10 runs I could find were bowguns using heroics. My first time against that butthole had me seriously worried I was going to time out.
Siege fights in general are pretty shit, there's a reason they're basically the only monsters that rarely if ever come back. People remember the spectacle but forget that slapping Shen Gaoren's ankles for 30 minutes isn't exactly fun.
Gog and the Battlegrounds would be perfect in Rise
>wirebug platforming around the map
>ballistas/cannons/etc actually worth a damn now
>Gog himself is a neat, unique design
He even has a Demolisher on the stage that acts like a Splitting Wyvernshot, Gog almost feels like proto Ibushi/Narwa
I feel you, bro. I hate this fricking boss when playing GS.
Feeling a lot better about my 20 minute kill time for the first attempt, thanks man. Is it even possible to blow up all the back tumors before satan projectile vomits?
Maybe not solo. Doable with 4p if you're coordinated enough to focus one ball at a time.
Yes, but everyone has to be accurate. I’ve shot him down once solo and a few times in pubs.
It's possible, but difficult because he keeps wiggling around and you still need to shoot down the homing orbs too or else they will persistently hunt you down to your death. I can only get it about half the time, for some reason I feel like the cannons deployed closer to the center of the arrangement have an easier time of it.
>afflicted barroth
i feel like im playing mh tri again
GLs do you guys use something else when going for tails? I haven't figured out the best way to cut tails yet. I would slaplance but none of my gear is built for that.
I just fullburst or poke and shoot depending on tail size and my positioning.
try upswing then shell the frick out of it,
R8 how are these skills for Power Phial Switch Axes?
Also Chain Crit should be at 3, the website doesn't have the Archfiend Armor Ura skill at its correct level for some reason.
What website is this? I don't know anything about switch axe.
https://rise.gearset.co
Thanks anon. This UI looks nicer than the other one.
power prolonger is not necessary since you can insta amp your weapon and have an insane buildup combo with 2 staged morph
agitator is eh
honestly i would just run gaisma + malzeno and partbreaker 3 over these old attack buffs
I just wish Spirit III wasn't so fricking ass
Spirit Reckoning III is better, but the Finisher is so terribly awkward
They moved from building and spending meter to the meter being pretty trivial and you build and spend spirit levels instead
I don't really like it either
This
LS before
>ok, use that move to gain extra meter so you can do the combo faster
LS now
>ok, use that move to gain extra LEVELS so you can do that move faster
Honestly speaking, they could remove the whole bar and only have the levels and nothing would really change from modern LS
It's basically a glorified timer for the special sheath charge
I miss Valor LS and CB. Valor SA was pretty cool too.
Valor LS is still unmatched
The CRUNCH on that counter hasn't been beaten
Someone posted a chart a while back showing that longsword's MVs for the basic moves have actually gone down over the years, with Rise being a low point
I've done a few hunts where I just throw out sakura slashes on cooldown with the occasional sacred sheathe inbetween and they've been disturbingly easy
They increased them in SB, but they increased every weapon's mvs for regular moves.
ls red bar also got nerfed to 12% dmg from 20% though
>I miss when the weapon was dogshit.
kys worldbaby
Been playing since tri but okay.
Highest damage combo for ground IG? Some thing really do not want you to be in the air.
x x a
A>A with Tornado Slash then cancel with Kinsect to reposition
What about Tetraseal? It got buffed plus combos with the new explosion kinsects well.
Depends on the monster, a lot of the time tornado slash is just faster and safer
Tornado is still better and faster for general purpose, but at the same time Powder bugs are significantly better than before, so give Tetra a try
It's faster than before, but you still have to be aware of the animation time
Tetraseal is for downed monsters since Tornado is safer.
i don't really like tetraseal slash that much. even if it was fully better than tornado slash i would still use tornado because of how easy it is to hit specific parts of monsters.
You get permanent hp regen all quest and it stacks with Gourmet Fish regen too
Hunt 60 of gaismagorm.
Still no mantle.
Please just give me the mantle.
I got one yesterday cause my Gathering Palico plundered one.
God, I fricking love cats.
I went through like 20 Shara Ishvalda back in World to get my SA, good luck anon
Use felvine on your cats and they'll plunder more
A lot of weapons had that problem in base Rise, LS Hammer DB Lance etc had all their damage crammed into the new attacks
Lance's lunge got NERFED going into Rise when it was already just a weak repositioning move.
>A lot of weapons had that problem in base Rise, LS Hammer DB Lance etc had all their damage crammed into the new attacks
>weapons had that problem in base Rise
>LS
Yeah, LS still got the problem to be honest
No reason to use the normal kit, just counter into Special sheath
Try to follow the conversation dumbass
>realize I never unlocked Dango Insurance
>look up how to get it
Seems simple, how come literally no one ever seems to have it in SOS? I can count the number of times I’ve seen the “remaining carts: 3” on one hand.
Insurance is a rotating dango so not always available. I will use it if I think there's a good chance I may cart.
it's also very good if you are hardstuck on some mob solo. It gives 200 def or so
Is Fio is detrimental to the Gaisgasm fight? Should I do the version without her?
With the nerfs and buffs to weapons in Sunbreak, did any of the weapons BnB combos change?
Switch axe got an entirely new bnb sequence and you can mix it up with your previous morph combos depending on what you want
SnS is back to infinite combo loops
LS plays almost nothing like it did pre-sunbreak
Wide and long gunlances enjoy shell shell eruption cannon A LOT
That's from the weapons i'm playing regularly
Apparently incest glaive actually has a reason to use tetraseal and stay in the air all the time
>Incest glaive
Got a laugh out of me.
What are the new SA combos?
And apparently elemental damage is no longer hot garbage on most weapons, might be why tetraseal is good now?
Tetraseal being good is mostly because of the new powder bug I think
they also made it go slightly faster
Oh, it is no longer assist bug and assist bug only?
Mh... do you want the best speedrunning meta? yeah, go assist
But powder now got a fun niche too, so you are not totally gimping youself for using them
G rank powder bugs are the secret magic caster class now, they got a vortex move that draws in all existing clouds and makes them explode for surprisingly high damage
I wish monster attacks wouldn't magically destroye em
That sounds like a lot of fun. 90% of the clouds just hanging about uselessly have always been a huge factor in why they where so weak.
What’s SnS? XXAAA XA?
hammer bros, it's time.
Talismans still the same RNG shitshow or did they improve on it?
RNG shit, but at least you don't have to rampage for melding mats
I keep getting Quick Sheath 3 Talismans and I'm not even playing LS this time
nice, I think there is a waist exactly like that
Is final boss LBG any good? I want to play something braindead.
It's decent. I think Shagaru is the new best lbg now since it can also rapidfire pierce 2.
Sunbreak is so good, I feel my hunting fever rising in my chest like in the old days.
Who else here is completely shit at countering? I'm trying to learn the Switchaxe counter but I'm too dumb.
>Japanese Humor
kino
this guy has a thing for all of the females around the camp. Watching him trying to get everyone's attention is cute. Knowing he's got the princess his his paws is downright dirty.
what a chad
Damn, new Narwa is a monster despite having only one new and one updated attack
I mean, she was kinda of a monster already during the final phase
Anyone using Good Luck active skill? How is it?
I just got +2 Good Luck charm.
japs will hate you if you use it cos everyone else has went out of their way to tryhard with their skills and they believe that you're basically leeching off them if you aren't doing the same
Back in my day we killed elder dragons naked just for the fun of it. Kids these days...
Nice, I'm gonna use it then. Frick asiatics and frick tryhards.
Its pretty good, I have +3 from the Bharbania set and I get 2 extra monster (target) drops and 1 extra quest reward drop. The set also has capture master for yet another drop if capping and on top of that I use pilfer cats. Loot out the ass
Why do some melee weapons just randomly get -20 raw on same weapon type comparing to a different weapon class
I noticed some even get better sharpness color, it's kinda confusing
STOP
PLAYING
LANCE
No, start playing Lance.
There is no escape from the lance.
You are either Gunlance or Lance
Or you are nothing.
>*DING* *thwack THWACK*
No.
i'm gonna keep playing GL and you can't stop me.
>ooh, this Thunder SnS looks really good
>have to farm Bhanabra parts for it
Nope.
Use poison smoke bombs.
Just kill one and see how many hits it takes for you to kill them, then for the next bug hit them the same amount of times -1 hit, and finish them off with throwing knives, or let your pets finish them off for a guaranteed corpse to carve.
FRICK THIS TALISMAN RNG
FRICK QUICK SHEATHE
FRICK MUSHROOMANCER
FRICK WIDE-RANGE
FRICK ALL OF THIS
>play lance/gunlance
>have never once seen a talisman with guard/guard up
Those skills come on armor pieces pretty readily. You have many other skills to use on talisman instead.
>don't play lance/gunlance
>have them out of the ass
i got a attack 2 with 2/3 slots and i've yet to see a guard up talisman
I got a quick sheath 3 agitator 2 talisman
I wonder what weapon I don't play *hint* *hint*
>got partbreaker 3 with quick sheathe 2
Comfy.
I played Dual Blades through the whole base game and never saw one with decent Guard or Offensive Guard
Playing Lance now and still haven't seen one
I liked Rampage and wanted to see them tweak it
I hated it and I'm glad it's gone but I feel bad to see you upset over losing something you liked. Sorry m8.
They should tweak your "frontal lobe".
Pray for a spinoff game with a revamped, more substantial system.
It was unironically the fastest way to grind ranks, except it was boring as frick.
I think its a good concept, but in practice its pretty bad
Rampages should have been some sort of gauntlet where you fight from 3 to 6 monsters one after another, helped by weapons and the gong to make it as long as a 2/3 monster quest
>feel like I am getting the hang on SnS
>kill Khezu for the sisters quest in 9 minutes
>go on to Shagaru Magala
>zero death, good uptime on him, cut his tail pretty early and just slam damage into there
>37 minutes
frick I am shit at this game.
Has nothing to do with wirebugs and environmental
>bbbbut world was my first game and I heard status
Sleephunt always was a meme, para before was changed was even more worthless than now because it allowed only one hit, and poison damage always was too small
Actually pretty sure people would still run sleep if gs wasn't changed in world
I personally more worried about mh4 killing elem weapons for no reason at all, capcom really need to go back for having one skill that increases both status and all elem damage
I hate Mizutsune
that is all
>”You know you can do whatever you want now, right?”
What did Fio mean by this?
She means you can go back to Yomogi now.
Got a CB 1 +Divine blessing 3 with 2-1-0 slots. Is that good?
not terrible, CB is a valuable skill and with the lv2 slot you can basically get another one for free
Divine is just some nice bonus that could very rarely save your ass
So why were people excited for this thing again? It's more annoying than fun.
He’s honest and opens up the gates for more Frontiermons again
his theme is fricking great wdym.
That's not unknown that's Espinas
When I play DB I feel my brain cells melt
But haha many number
there are "people" in this thread that eat for weakener before every quest
I chose weakener for the entire of 3U/4U
Did I not beat the games? How weaker we talking here
i think monster have a chance of being slightly less hp, normal hp, and slightly more
weaker will make them have less
1% chance of you being able to one shot monster
More likely it didn't worked for you, so you beat game properly
I did, until I realized it just decreases their Health slightly.
yep, cope
I also eat for moxie and defender
I realize this is a dumb thing to ask but I'll do it anyway: did the update break all the mods or just a portion of them?
Broke most of them but any of them that were worth using have been updated
>Decide to go back to world for a lil bit
>Stygian Zinogre quest not done
>Give it a go
>Triple Cart faster than you can say so tasty
>Didn't triple cart once in Sunbreak
Bruh
Watching that slow ass getting up animation kills me now
I dunno if you are just trying yet another "uh world hard rise easy" shitpost, but honestly it's pretty normal, you got tools in Rise you don't have in world, and you got used to those tools
Yeah, the entire flow of world felt different to Rise. Made me feel really off my game.
why the would would you slowly get up in any game instead of rolling?
No? it always was use hammer on tail and when monster exhausted boomerang to cut it
>that juicy hilt cut with the HH
Honestly the real problem was that both blunt weapon had an hard time hitting the tail consistently
If you’re only just now getting to Stygian Zinogre then good luck with Alatreon and Fatalis when you reach them.
By how much does the charms affect offense/defense in Rise?
Is it actually woth shit or just some dumb shit like 2%?
SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Give me a fun anomly tier hammer build. I need something to work towards and haven't looked at all the new skills yet. Focus is the only thing my tired brain can think of for the set to charge up the hammer. Any input skills to search or specific equipment would be welcome so I can start to throw some shit of the wishlist. Sunday I can spend a good 3 hours autistically doing homework on a fun build or min max build.
kys set with dereliction + bloodlust
Focus is bad for hammer, you want to be able to time out the lvl2 charge sometimes
Have you guys gotten any good talismans from the new melting yet?
I like how they just didn't hack in max minds eye for the hell of it.
You can only hack them in a """"realistic"""" way
So 2 base skills and 3 slots
the 2 base skills are full attack/crit
the 3 slots are used for 4ranks in crit element and 2rank for ME, simply because the lv4 israeliteels only give 2 ranks
What a lucky guy.
>only lv2 mind's eye
shit talisman, just reroll it, hopefully you get something better
>LS homosexual
of course
say hello to the game's sanity check for me upon restart!
If real then god damn nice, if cheated in then eh
How can you look at that charm and think it was anywhere in the realm of legitimacy?
Maybe he was just really lucky
https://mhrise.wiki-db.com/sim/?hl=en doesn't even list 4-4-4 as an option
>this random site must be right
anon, we got a pic that clearly prove it wrong
nexusmods exists smart stuff
https://rise.gearset.co/?loadout=146d4839cba7de96329688c1171ef7e8
here, the same talisman allowed on a site with Rise in the name, what now?
Because I like giving people the benefit of the doubt.
I also don't know what the "limits" are.
haha, what a luck 🙂
>2022
>people don't know how cutting tails worked in game series two decades old
what the frick
I've heard stories about how it used to be only the final hit but then became every hit must be cutting and now the first story again. Surely anon wouldn't lie to me though?
Are we still pretending we hate Rise HH?
Are you still pretending you cared about HH until it became a fisher price toy?
Don't play it then, it's really simple.
The benefit from hitting them is that you can press R to deal good damage AND apply the song
Or I can just play the actual fun HH in rise.
>I don't want hh to play like musical instrument
old hh shitters show their true colors
> you can press R to deal good damage
all hh's attacks except for x+a never had good damage
Anon, half of optimal HH play right now is just hitting R repeatedly
>pretending
Does the afflicted coom timer still count down when the monster runs to a new area
I have yet to change my amour while doing MR. Why is this game so baby mode?
because you're LARPing
Cope, cartgay.
project more, shitterBlack person
What’s the point of bringing back an empty arena stage as a TU addition?
There’s a lot of MH2 fanservice in Sunbreak I’m noticing, they might be bringing Tower back because they plan on adding Yama Tsukami or White Fatalis at some point. As for why it wasn’t in the base game, I don’t know. Probably just because they want it to be for special monsters only like rare species and shit.
>MH2 fanservice
Like what? Pretty sure people know Jungle more from FU than 2.
hell hunters my guess, and crabs
Ah, hell hunters is a nice one. Crabs were minor in 2, don't think it's a direct fanservice.
It’s specified as the Forlorn Arena though, which doesn’t fit Yama and Fatty
>It must be all cutting
>only the final hit needs to be cutting
WHICH IS IT FRICKERS
First one
Always have been
I remember some hidden lore about "50% cutting" needed, at this point I dunno anymore
The second up to gen 2, the first one from gen 3 onwards
I really like a lot of the new/returning monsters we got, but damn I wish we had Nerscylla+Agnaktor instead of Pyre Rakna and Magma Almudron.
Chuck in Malfestio and it'd be such an outstanding roster.
What does feeding the owl do?
If you feed him 100 separate times you get a Crit Eye +7 feather
>100 times
pls tell me you don't need 1 after each hunt but can just keep feeding him
Well...
AAAAAAA I already lost like 20 of them, kill me now
>For A1 and A2 quests, the health for all monsters and the attack power of some monsters has been adjusted.
I hope this stop anons from complaining about the giant HP bloat
What hp bloat? You could kill them in hr gear under 10 minutes
Stop being bad
Tell that to dozens of anons that complain about it
>10 minutes in HR gears
kinda bad, I did them in 7 minutes and I didn't even got to them yet, get on my level
REMINDER
Wow, Amatsu and Molten Tigrex are the only interesting things here.
I still haven't seen the proof for this
That shit is fake, but honestly what proof do you want?
Like what proof we had for the Espinas/gore loading screen?
That loading screen was some pretty damning evidence.
Anything beyond that is horseshit.
>butterflies wings
where
>butterfly wings
Could it be...?
Holy moley pls no.
But we already got Chaos gore in the same patch, so it's not really possible I think
Technically Chaotic is a Gore subspecies not a Shagaru one so it's possible
That reminds me, if they took steve's weapon gimmick they're probably not going to bring back Chaotic's weapon gimmick, or else make it into an armor skill
...
I still don't have him unlocked, they didn't really remove the gimmick right???....Right?
Sorry anon, they turned it into an armor skill that makes you regenerate sharpness when rolling through attacks
Coincidentally I'm pretty sure that's identical to a skill in frontier
Pretty sure GU had a similar skill too, but the weapons still had the gimmick....
Is the HH decent at least? 4U songs were godlike, GU one were meh
isn't gore and shagaru enough? they should bring in a new monster not chaotic
no.
If anything we don't need a fire(???) mizu
i don't know why they don't give us a goss sub
>tfw no sand -> glass Goss
Guess it'd be fire though, unfortunately
i want "apex" goss who survived qurio and uses bloodswords for arms
TU2. Trust the plan.
Meant to reply to
That last one ended up being Gaismagorm, "sunset colored blade" is the new espinas, the 2nd to last one is Lucent's usual description
>Gaismagorm
It's also Lucent. His weapons are named after the seven stars of the Big Dipper.
OK, but the weapons are 14...how does that work?
"It's also Lucent" as in, the last weapon description on that list is also Lucent like the one before it, not "it's both Lucent and Gaismagorm".
No I mean "the star are 7, but the weapons are 14, how are the other 7 named?"
In order
>APPARENTLY Mizu sub since it's right after him in the data
>Seething Bazelgeuse
>Espinas Subspecies
>Silver Rathalos
>Gold Rathian
>Lucent Nargacuga
>Lucent Nargacuga (upgraded)
As said, last one is Goismagorm one anon
Afraid not, anon. Gaismagorm's weapons are a set of 14, not 7, and his LS has a different description.
What's the Metal Rath datamine?
metal raths are shit monsters no one ever liked, but capcom puts them in every single game just like normal raths
So that's the safest bet possible
Weapon description datamine had some of the Goldian weapons already in the game
>I must Dootamine!!!!!
just enjoy the surprise
Fricking hate that DLC only focuses on endgame stuff and not patching up the obvious omissions in the roster like Agnaktor, Zamtrios or even Velociprey.
If they DID add mid-tier mons like those in title updates, they'd either
>be irrelevant immediately, so you'd fight them 2-3 times for their gear and then never again (like with Frostfang being added in the same update as Alatreon)
>be buffed to high hell for no good reason, resulting in nonsense like Zamtrios somehow being on the same level as Rajang
Rajang's always been endgame, you're thinking of garuga and nigrex
rajang never was above mh2 elder dragon trio, until iceborne
Actually he always was garuga tier, with both of them being above tigrex
Garuga was a fricking rathian tier monster in FU and 4U, what? Rajang is usually introduced in the same quest tier as the elders too, he's only "above" them in IB because he was in a title update.
>Garuga was a fricking rathian tier monster in FU
Garuga was rathian copy paste down to every move, but above rathalos tier in fu
Honestly, I dunno what I want from the TU.
I dislike the world way "ok, new gears better", but it would kinda feel bad for the new gears to be worse then what we already have
>resulting in nonsense like Zamtrios somehow being on the same level as Rajang
Right now 2 of the best GS are Rajang and...the Jyura one.
We already got there thanks to the new "every weapon get to rank10" gimmick and I love it
Obviously sourceless, but I do wish for Namielle
He was robbed in IB
Hammer Bros, IC or the buff? Trying to use both against these fast as frick monsters makes me miss my windows and shit.
I'm thinking just use the buff and use all my bugs on Swaying and swap to IC on downs.
Apparently two Charged Brutal BBs is better DPS than the full BBC combo now.
How does Offensive Guard work in Rise/SB?
Block a hit in the first half second or so of starting your guard or counter animation, as long as it's an actual block and not some invincible counter like LS' stuff it'll work.
>Monster Hunter fans are all Those Kids
>My dad works at Nintendo
>I can bench press 600 pounds
>I have two swimming pools
>I post times as fast as speed runners but I don't post them or recorded them because I just don't, okay?
>23 bazels
>still no fricking mantle
how often should i be actually using the lance part of gunlance? i've been spamming blast dash/bullet barrage as much as i could but i'm wondering if i'm being a moron
what shelling are you using?
normal, i have a long and wide made i just haven't used them yet
you can do the pokey pokey but normal/long do more damage if you do full burst or go aerial.
>Public malxenos
>Lance gay carts twice
>Nobody else gets close to dying
I thought you morons were supposed to be invincible
Hopefully they bring back Kulve Taroth RNG loot treadmill!
what HH has the catchiest song?
self improvement
the guitar
