Is it just me or is the afflicted end game system kind of lame?
Monsters on the same tier drop the same level of afflicted material, so you'd just want to farm weaker monsters on the same tier like say Great Izuchi for the first tier and Rathian for the second tier. Only difference being monsters with more breakable parts have more chance of dropping more afflicted materials.
I miss gunner armour, or the beta/alpha thing. Why did they remove it in Rise? It feels weird to just have 1 armour set per weapon. I had some hopes that Sunbreak would include them but no luck.
It's an easy fix honestly. Just make Alpha have more skills than you can get with the slots offered by beta. Then it's a case of thinking about whether you want the skill or don't need it so using a slot would be better despite having less efficiency.
Because you have layered armor. The idea probably was limiting set amounts so the game isn't 200gigs huge by including extra models beyond male and female + layered versions. Blame world.
That's stupid, armour models are a tiny part of a game's download so that definitely isn't the reason.
I'm less bothered by the lack of secondary sets than the boned weapons in world.
Half of the betas were just the same armor with different colorable parts anyways
I don't like getting shot but that doesn't mean I have to like stubbing my toe because it's comparatively less painful. What's your point? Also gunner armour was drastically different

I'm not sure what it is about him, myself. He was always one of my favourites and even in World I don't remember anything being off. Is it that he charges forward too much or just that a lot of his attacks have huge aerial hitboxes whereas before that was only ever an issue for IG?
I never had an issue with HR Zinogre in Rise or MR in IB but the sunbreak version makes me want to throw my controller through the wall. maybe my nmissions are bugged but fighting Zin solo feels like a chore. Always backing up, Always dashing, always doing the tail backflip. I never see it even use its electricity moves. Just dash, tail flip, run away. over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until it dies.
its dogshit >The armor skills are way to random >You have to run full narwa/ibushi or its useless >You have to run full narwa set for the ibushi soul rampage deco (or vice versa for narwa soul if anyone actually wants def on weapon) >some skills like guard on ibushi don't even max >it doesn't affect charm or deco skills >wind/thunder alignment is fricking moronic
I really hoped they changed it so you don't have to wear full set for stormsoul or make it work with decos. But I tried it yesterday, its the same armor in HR/MR but now you have 5 lvl2 slots. Its such a fricking shame.
The armor sets were even worse when Rise released, because Stormsoul only got introduced with the allmother update.
Hows LBG in Sunbreak? Saw that one Sunbreak NPC with one and now I wanna be a cool gunner pew pew and shit. Do I have to use all ammo types like the status/elemental ones or can I just stick to Normal/Pierce/Spreads?
the buddy recon spot in the north west of the citadel is great but you can only use it once which is stupid, i would happily pay double the resources per additional use of it
ZSD is such a fricking trap in sunbreak
can't count the amount of times i've nearly killed myself just jumping on a monster and eating literally my entire healthbar's worth of chip damage
I'd kick you from my hunt if I saw you waste an entire down window on fricking wild swing. Wild swing is only for procing the part breaker buff and 2 stage gauge upkeep. It is terrible dps.
Eh you could get away with some bullshit with that one since you got a damage reduction from it and the clutch attack is obviously faster
Was safer than blocking a whole combo head on in a lot of cases
ZSD is such a fricking trap in sunbreak

It's good to see these posts. Its almost as if you're not supposed to just mindlessly latch on whenever because you'll end up taking large damage against anything actually threatening. ZSD isn't a trap, its supposed to be a finisher for when the monster is downed or for certain openings.
>its supposed to be a finisher for when the monster is downed or for certain openings
then too bad the morph combo is still better during those openings then lmao
You use it as the last thing in the combo. Like after the double morph, switch back and end with zsd. There's tons of strong combos you can do with SA.
New Espinas and MR Chameleos are my 2 favorite fight of the game, on the other hand i fricking hate lunagaron, does nothing and has a lot of hp to justify all the damage his ai makes him eat.
Gore's is better, 20 more raw for a mere 15% affinity which is easy as shit to make up for. Plus it also has dragon which despite barely doing anything is technically more damage. Also it has a lvl 2 rampage slot so you can use the "bonus damage against monster type" decos which are an extra 5% damage.
>>he fell for the "you can use HR armour" meme
you are genuinely a fricking braindead moron. frick you Black person >I'm using a fully upgraded Orangeten set.

Literally no one brought up the ability to use HR armor, there is no nuance. Anon was asking if it's normal for the crab to take off half HP with one attack despite wearing fully upgraded MR armor and your Black personbrain is equating that with him believing that using HR armor is no problem in MR, instead of just saying "yes, attacks in MR hit hard even with MR armor"

It was an implication of a lack of understand of the proper damage output that G rank monsters should be dishing out. There's nothing complicated about that. God for how much you like to call others moronic you sure seem to need things spelling out for you.

It was a shitty implication that had nothing to do with the topic since HR armor was never in question, how much damage MR monsters deal to fully upgraded MR armor was the only point of relevance. Anon wasn't using HR armor, never indicated he thought HR armor would be enough, and was just asking whether it was normal for monsters to still be 2 hit killing even while upgrading his armor to match MR.

I don't know anon. I'm using an unupgraded unjanath X set and espinas charges are eating most of my life. I'll probably need either the birds, upgrade my armor or both
Am I just bad or is my health supposed to go to half after being hit by one of blue crab's claws?
I'm using a fully upgraded Orangeten set.
It's just the game while you're progressing
The endgame armors have much higher base defense beating out upgraded rarity 8s like you guys have, and obviously upgraded they'll be even better.
Defense Boost is pretty good if you need to tank a few hits without changing armors so much while you're progressing till you get to those better armors, I ran DB7 + ele res as needed till after I beat the final boss, MR5 hits pretty hard for low rarity armors
Final bosses or malzeno maybe, I was playing with the armor set search to see potential replacements
https://mhrise.wiki-db.com/sim/?hl=en
There's also a few monsters after final boss related to MR caps that have good gear.
The title updates will be sure to shake up the meta
Ceanataur is such a wiener sucker. Fought it once and its speed was ridiculous. The bleed barely bothered me but that butthole moves way too damn fast.
Okay, just checking you had that knowledge
Which ore spawns? Citadel has a bunch of secret passages and a ton of overhangs. Jungle also has a bunch of verticality.
im really not enjoying gunlance right now, just killed malzenio and man im annoyed at the elden ring boss syndrome of hyper delayed attacks. might change to SA.
which bosses have hyper delayed attacks? so far i've been rolling as i feel and it doesn't feel like they hold shit back just to frick with the player like elden ring
I think he has the potential to be cool with him creating mud pillars and shit. But half the time the fights ends up being lame with the AI just whipping its tail around and hiding itself.
They needed to seriously playtest Almudron more and focus on how TERRIBLE the camera can be at times when close to him. Mudman has its fricking tail blocking everything at times and disorienting you even with your silhouette on. Its animations are also pretty hard to discern when the camera gets to close and you end up getting hit from one of his 360 tail attacks.
I do
His recovery animations have a very unorthodox positioning to properly punish. At the very least I have to actually pay attention to where I am and what he's doing other than a lot of the other new dodge-and-spank shitmons with no thought put into them that you can just play on autopilot
I think his idea is much better than the execution. the idea of him raising pillars and changing the terrian you fight him is good but he's too big and his actual attacks make it so that you don't have the time to attack the parts you want (specially the tail) reliably
I hated him in Rise and the reveal of Magmalmudron made me want to kill myself. Of all monsters to give a fricking variant. I would've liked something like a thunder Goss Harag or blast Aknosom.
I felt like Magma Almudron was a better fight than the normal Almudron because the lava puddles don't stay on the ground as much as the mud puddles do.
is it just me or are sonic bombs really hard to use in rise vs world, I feel like if you do it too early it has no effect, and half the time even when you get one out on time they just ignore it
fricking vegan peice of shit
it used to be like this, not sure when they changed it but quite possible World. Instead sonic bombs where rather hard to get in World
nobody?
there's gotta be some DB players out there
>iframing with DB
everybody just assumed you are trolling
add evade window, evade distance and you can just spam dodge through everything like you would in Elden Ring
Jyuratodus >First shows up as a High Rank urgent for some insane reason >Only appears in one map so you barely ever fight it anyway >Already two other mud monsters in the game >No other Piscine Wyverns to justify the inclusion, new or otherwise >Got buffed to hell but didn't actually become more interesting, so it's the same boring monster but now it takes ten times longer to kill
There are definitely worse monsters in the game but in terms of "why the frick did they include this" Jyura takes the cake
Are the people who claim Sunbreak is easy-peasy just trolling or are they only playing multiplayer and rolling nothing but small gold crowns? Like don't get me wrong it's not pants shittingly difficult but I've fainted more in my ~25ish hours than I did in all 100+ of base Rise
the game gives you a lot of single slots on your armor and besides Flinch Free 1 I just load them up with defense boost. Been kind of great, especially when you get up to 4+ because it starts doing percentage boosts
I've been rocking defense boost 7 (and I still am after beating sunborn) simply because they removed all of the good single slot gems. and this is AFTER getting full satiated and speed sharpening, they need less single gem slots or more single gem decos
The game is incredibly easy compared to other MH entries. Sunbreak is still slightly harder than Rise, so if you only played RIse it might be ""hard"" for you. But it is objectively braindead easy for G-Rank MH.
I've only played MHW+IB and Rise, and Sunbreak's story is definitely the hardest so far. Hopefully we get something comparable to AT Nerg/Alatreon/Fatalis in the title updates
It's definitely on the easier end of the MH games, the only ones really being easier are probably world/iceborne. We're not going back to FU/handheld difficulty again.
I totally blanked out on Switch Skills since I don't use them at all on SnS, but I should do this too. Feels like I constantly have Wirebugs up as IG since I'm fishing for the triple extract in order to use AKA, might as well use those on divebomb instead.
>I need a fricking MANTLE
worldbabbies everyone. maybe stay in your game that has your mantles so you can freely dodge everything and take no damage homosexual
that was debunked ages ago.
also it makes zero sense. monsters in multiplayer are synced server side. so even if the host was playing at 240fps, their client has no influence.
There is one FPS related issue but it's if the host has super low FPS, the game can desync in a way that all the clients can just beat on an immobile monster until it dies
ah yeah. you can force this to happen with a fps capping program. its sort of a way to cheese fights but the game will kick the host if it desyncs too much.
>Mighty Bow israeliteel doesn't show up until after the main story >didn't know this until I got to that point but still committed to not replacing my HR Bow armor until I can make it
I did this to myself for no good reason
at least I got better with Dodgebolt
piercing bind is shit. I hate that it takes one second until you can attack the kunai the kunai even has a higher reach so quite often you also have to close in the distance before attacking, enough time for the monster to do some spastic moves and deny you attacking it. In the same timeframe I could easily do 200damage the kunai does by default.
I wish they buffed it like,
let us throw the kunai from any distance
the spot where the kunais at becomes a weakspot temporarily
higher prep time, but let us attack immediately after throwing
I completely agree. On paper, piercing bind is god tier and the 'con' list is literally empty. In game, It is the single most precise and instant hitbox (it doesn't linger at all) so you end up missing some of the most insane shit and it's always while the monster is downed and because the monster opened his mouth and you jabbed the blade in-between his top and bottom jaw so you didnt get a hit and there goes 1 slow recharge wirebug. Then on the offchance you do get a hit it takes a full second, during which, your character decides to do a backspin JUST to get you out of range of hittting so you immediately have to do a demon spin back towards the monster to get in range.
Just yesterday I got the drill move and holy shit I immediately replaced pierce and I'm loving it, the medium recharge is godly (if you have 3 bugs you can essentially endlessly use it) and it's still possible to just run up and spam it on a downed monster. I honestly just wish they'd buff the pierce hitbox
The drill move is unfortunate too anon I swapped back to piecing bind since that shit will barely miss too except now instead of standing next to the monster you fly right through them on the other side of the arena
2 years ago
Anonymous
The drill only stops if you hit a weakpoint right?
Some monsters fall too flat to use it on them easily on the ground but for the most part it's pretty good for jamming yourself in their face after an attack with long recovery
2 years ago
Anonymous
I've experienced this as well, but it's nowhere near as bad as pierce. I've only had it a day so I'm certainly still getting used to it (for example, Teostra will ONLY catch the drill on his head, I tried like 5 times on his tail for science) but it's at least consistent once you figure it out. And funny enough I think I'd rather going flying than do the wind-down animation after a miss with the pierce. Whether that's out of spite for pierce or because it's at least a fun thing to watch and a better animation who knows. Maybe it's even because of the repositioning, when I miss a pierce I just sit there for over a second not doing anything and my neurons stop firing until I have control again, when I miss drill I at least have to think about how the fights changing and where I'm going to go run when I land
dual blades would be my favorite weapon hands down and my favorite DB incarnation in all of Mon Hunter if Demon Flight spam wasn't the best dps. Shit is AIDS. Drill is amazing and like you said, getting to ditch pierce is amazing.
Yeah I used it like 5 or so times in the beginning along with rape demon mode, but I just think they're less fun so I stopped and haven't used them since.
Also LMAO at the thing that replaces the wirebug counter, I actually used it in one battle and then muscle memory used it and facetanked a hit and laughed out loud and unequipped it

>Fight Seregios for first time >Using power barrel HBG with Rath armour, no evade extender >His flying kicks are often literally impossible to avoid >After carting twice, pull out my lance >Proceed to shove the lance so fricking far up it's ass that it comes out it's mouth
New lance feels like cheating.
clearing MR with Lance was a really weird experience, stuff like Rajang, Espenis and Steve were absolutely free, but Rakna, Bazel and Tetranodon nearly triple-carted me
I've just done the first couple of afflicted monsters and this mechanic feels bad.
Do they get better later? Because so far they're just easier versions of the normal monster because of the constant free staggers when you break the glowing weak points, but with the tedium of a massive health pool.
If I had a nickel for every time the game has thrown me against a gold crown monstrosity as my first attempt against an MR monster, I'd have like 10 nickels.
Why's it keep fricking happening?
Is there a reason to use helicopter over Kinsect Slash? I guess for element and status, but helicopter is so slow and eats sharpness while Kinsect Slash gives you a mini Diving Wyvern if you have red extract.
Am I weird if I think the Wroggi is WAY HARDER than big wyverns and elden dragons? Those stupid poison clouds are a way bigger nuisance than Rathalos' fire or anything else.
Bros I fricking HATE aurora somnacanth, the afflicted one. All it does is spam fricking aoe attacks and its entire body is a hitbox for every single move
Yeah, I've done it countless times since I'm in EU and most of my mh friends are on the other side of the world. As long as noone is using mcdonalds router or similar tech, you should be fine.
>hammer can now just cycle between level 3 charges over and over with spin charge
Shockwave seems like mostly a waste of time but soon charge is fricking bonkers
>learning SA >hey this weapon is kinda cool and does decent damage >haven't used GS since world >I wonder how it's doing now >beat hunts in almost half the time than I used to when rocking SA >need way less skills
welp now I'm completely demotivated from using SA
That could be it but I'm mostly just spamming the counter and dealing more damage in that one blow than I'd do in an entire damage cycle on a downed monster if I were using SA
They completely broke Greatsword but nobody seems to care because “at least grorious nippon steel doesn’t kill things 10 seconds faster”, they unironically need to nerf that counter shit
anon i know you hate ranged but im playing the one that actually fights the gunner shitzones of most monsters unlike pierce subhumans and im putting forth the fact that i have a gunlance friend doing similar times, what the frick are you even doing to have your hunts take fricking 20-25?
>Play Lance >Have fun sticking to monster's face and countering everything they try >Decide to try Hammer >Literally just spam charged Impact Crater >Kill the monsters in 1/3 of the time it took to kill them with Lance
I like the Lance playstyle, but holy shit it feels so weak.
you automatically get spiribirds. combine that with the dango skill or the rampage skill (there are not a whole lot of good lvl 1 rampage skills anyway) and get full bird stats faster than collecting them.
what fights are even taking you 20-25? allmother narwa was my longest and only took me 15 even carting twice
not the anon youre replying too but im a rapid fire normal 2 lbg here, so im pretty low in the damage department
even my buddy playing gunlance gets similar times
Guy who initially said 20-25 here. I meant for things like endgame marathon hunts that involve elders. No single monster has taken that long, though my first Shagaru took a while because I took a Lance with blue sharpness like an idiot.
I feel it's one of the better skills because you can combine it with a rampage one that randomly boosts bird buffs. I have it on a few sets and anything that takes longer than 8 minutes tends to have my entire buffs filled out.
I hope I can get it on a charm because it's a very understated but useful background skill.
I just unlocked the mr4 switch skills
what should I be using with the switch axe now exactly? is wire step good? how am I supposed to use the counter exactly?
wire step repositions you quickly to the monsters flank, its useful against monsters who are slippery fricks. the counter works just like longsword counter, monster hits you and you press the counter button right before they do to counterattack plus gain some amped energy.
>some amped energy
You immediately go in amp state from 0.
but what skills should I be using with the counter? I was using invincible gambit and compressed on one set and switching to zsd and swb on the other but now I don't know what to use
i like it since it discourages just running wex 3 and calling it a day
Not that anon but using any bowgun eliminates you from time discussions. You can be absolute ass at the game and never hit 20 minutes with a bowgun.
i guess that makes sense kinda? i see it more as highly optimized meta bowgun is equivalent to that, but when im using normal ammo and fighting shit that barely has 40s on the hitzones while blademasters have 50-70 in some places i think they can get pretty equivalent
Ah shit, thought I was the only one.
I do get the most framedrops in the citadel.
Also is anyone else's voices too low? I can barely hear my character speak when he does the "Watch out" voiceline.
Wtf. I never reached HR100 before I quit in Vanilla. Now I did and faced a new monster for me, Valstrax. That was a cool boss. he was like a jet plane or something. Coolest design in the game yet imo.
Is it just me or did they amp up the chances for the room decoration lottery at the shop? They very rarely showed up for me back in base game and the chances of actually getting the jackpot was slim to none, but they've been showing up a lot more now and I get them on first attempt
seriously cant stand her voice lines in this game, constantly boasting about how great she is, the kamura village blacksmith was just chill and let me browse in peace
Even then she constantly talks when I'm just trying to browse the sets and figure out what to make. Whoever decided that NPCs should constantly talk when you have their menu open should get a cactus shoved in their anus.
I think, in theory, you can counter and instantly shoot into amped, do the usual ZSD into SWB, then skill switch into charger, repeat until amped dies, then skill switch back to counter and repeat.
if youre playing grounded style swaxe, then yeah, spam counter and use 2 stage morph/swaxe rampage israeliteel to keep up your sword meter. if youre playing aerial swaxe, then you still want to have counter on one skillswitch set so you can instant amp at the start of the fight, but afterwards youll want to use your wireburgs on silk charger and SWB like usual
I think, in theory, you can counter and instantly shoot into amped, do the usual ZSD into SWB, then skill switch into charger, repeat until amped dies, then skill switch back to counter and repeat.
Just to get yourself amped at least.
Helps a lot with Power Phial SAs
but what about silk step?
I don't know what my loadouts should be now
also should I be using the overhead slam?
silk step is a safety move, think of it as a version of absolute evasion that repositions you better. if you want to have it on thats fine, but from my experience EE2 is enough to always dodge anything anyways.
overhead slash and 2 stage morph slash are pretty much straight upgrades, but every other silkbind choice is really up to you, they're all good.
I don't know what my two different loadouts should be now
I had compressed on one but that doesn't mesh at all with the counter

you have mario Aknosom who likes to frequent frost island and jungle and spit fireballs directly in the water.
What tactic is best with SA? I used to spam ZSD when I was amped, doing the dive bomb attack, but a friend told me I was doing it wrong and for better DPS I should, as long as it allows, do my rotation as follows: ZR>A+A>ZR>repeat. effectively going into sword, do two swings, then switch back to axe and then immediately back to sword for two more swings.
I tried it and it works, but spamming ZSD when allowed is so much fun, and it gives bigger numbers on the explosion which is always fun.
both playstyles are valid, theyre relatively similar DPS and mostly just depends on the monster matchup as to which pulls ahead. even if you do ZSD spam, youll still want to do the morph combo on a downed monster though.
Yeah, when the monster is down I try to do the rotation and then when he's doing his thing I tend to do more ZSD as the rotation takes quite a while to do and he runs away or stuns me during it.
I do that combo while amped is charging up and then spam ZSD into SWB like a fricking terrorist, using charger to regain meter to do it as long as possible.

aren't you only supposed to do a single sword double swing into the axe morph instead of going into the long sword swing finisher
the double axe morph swing is what does a frickton of damage
Oh shit, I misunderstood it because I interpreted A+A as the double swing. Yes, it's R2 while moving forward or netural from Axe > A/Triangle > R2, repeat
[...]
I don't know what my two different loadouts should be now
I had compressed on one but that doesn't mesh at all with the counter
You can just set the other loadout to the other skills and use them if you want to. You can be lazy, like me, and use one loadout of Overhead, ZSD, SWB, Charger, 2-Morph and get through the game ezpz
all these bow users frickin carting 3 times in 5 minutes.
and all they do is simply sit there and go ponk ponk ponk. i thought it was dashin to get charge?
I started with World/IB and Rise/SB, wanted to try out MH GU, is it possible to solo everything or are there fights like Fatalis and Lao that are only possible online?
You can solo everything, you just need to know how to play and have good enough gear. You don't even need to Minmax, unless you are autistic and going for speed runs.
That's great, can't wait to play after I'm done with SB

I was interested in trying LS now that it was nerfed and not moronic, but is this basically all it is?
Sakura spam if not yellow - sheath
Helm Splitter spam if yellow - sheath
Super Ultra Mega Sheath 10000 for 50 billionty damage
repeat
Counters are a meme in Rise but the LS counters are where the fun is IMO. You have 3 of them and they can be enhanced with the new Harvest Moon switch skill. Once you master them you just never get hit and weave through monster attacks like a legendary swordsman
The SnS counter is awesome to use. After all these years, do you understand how good it feels to counter Los's claw attack and punch him in the fricking face outta the sky?
I’ve seen conflicting reports on this, but can anyone directly confirm that MR doesn’t build up in the background? Did anyone do a shitload of quests only to not get exp for any of them?
It does but it doesn't unlock until you start on Afflicted monsters with the MR10 urgent
I went straight from 10 to 20 to 28 after getting those urgents done
No they're on the same button
Sadly it kinda sucks compared to the other two, at least Spiral Thrust can be used as a gap closer or maybe get all 3 hits on a downed monster.
The only use case I can see for Skyward is if you're using a paralysis lance so you can force them to stand still.
Now that I really finish the game I think that Sunbreak isnt even as good as vanilla Iceborne. Also, Sunbreak didnt fix the major problems from Rise and even doubled down on most of them. It's ok for a spin-off game but you are really better off playing Iceborne or the older games not GU
So, that attack were he does the succ and you hide behind rocks. We didn't do enough damage, he blew up, I got caught and I only lost about a third of my HP. Because it doesn't kill you, wouldn't it be better to ignore the rocks and continue uptime? Even better if he does fall over.
>Get to MR3 urgent quest without issue, nothing does enough damage for me to use more than 1-2 of my own healing items >Gorg fricks my ass raw multiple times
I see it's already time to start looking to upgrade my armor.
I mean realistically I thought they might hold hands, which also would've been weird and out-of-place but hot as hell. Why else would the hunter and Fio slowly walk up to the balcony over the water with the sunrise between them and slightly angle their bodies towards each other and the coyly glance at each other. I was honestly prepared for them to hold hands while the scene was progressing
>about to start my first Furious Rajang hunt >set it to allow join and start the hunt >go to home screen on Switch and go downstairs cause I forgot to sort out my dinner >come back 15 minutes later ready to start my hunt >hunt has been going on for 15 minutes with me just stood there AFK
I thought it would be paused...
Do buddies in the Dojo gain a set amount of experience, or is it a portion of the exp. you gain when on a quest? Trying to find the fastest way to level up for buddy skills.
I feel like they tweaked monsters a bit compared to the base game, I catch them just fricking around more often

max comfy, too bad it had something crazy like 32 pictures max in the album with wiener mods of course
They're pretty bad and a noob trap cause of their lack of slots and negative affinity. They're basically the equivalent of 330 raw white sharpness if you use crit boost.
You can build them but I would definitely classify them as one of the worst rarity 12 weapons
Lv3 slot means you can use Daora Soul which cancels out the negative affinity basically for free. Or whatever else you want.
Not having to care about sharpness is worth it for me
Sorry to break it to you, but they nerfed daora soul
Its just straight up not worth running the final boss weapons
Just find a good one with slots (there are plenty, the ludrpth lance is a good starter ) and slot in what you need + anti dragon or whatever
Original: 25% on first hit, 30% on 5th
New:
5% to 15%
>they nerfed daora soul
Not by enough that it matters for what I'm doing

Why would it trigger me?
Just saying final boss weapons aren't worth it, like for SnS the secta weapons are a better start to endgame. Don't mind the gentle banter anon I don't give a shit what you use, Sunbreak isn't hard and monster hunting isn't a competitive game, its cooperative.
You wanna use them because you hate sharpening go right ahead, its all relatively minor differences

That's not too bad, it's still extra affinity. It's pretty good on the lbg.
Adding onto this, if your weapon doesn't have slots I wouldn't waste time on it. There's too many skills and better weapons will come out to bother with a no slot weapon.
Furious Rajang felt way too easy with Lance. Back in Iceborne, even with Guard 5 and Health Augment I'd suffer life-threatening chip damage and had difficulty countering many attacks. Here, I was never in any danger and could counter everything.
Chip damage was never really an issue that late in Iceborne cause of the healing augment.
In Rise the issue is having enough stamina to keep up with the spastic monstes
That's because everything in Rise is overpowered as frick compared to the previous times you fought him. He still took me like 25 minutes to beat, but I was spending a lot of the fight just waiting to see what cool shit he had. That grab attack did not dissapoint.
So do I just never use perfect rush? I practiced it until I nailed it because it triggered me to not know how to do it consistently but it seems like spinning reaper loops are more damage on downs
PR still is the strongest combo on downed monsters assuming you get all 3 timed inputs right. Use both it and a spinning reaper combo for these openings. SB gave a large buff to the correctly timed third hit, I'm starting to think people who don't use PR are just mashing their way through it and don't realize its a timed input combo.
Exactly my point. It's a timed combo. There's a brief audio/visual cue for when you make the next input. This makes the combo really fun and satisfying to master in addition to make it deal high damage. You'll do shit damage if you mash through it.
>kick Espinas's ass >13 minutes >kick Magala's ass >12 minutes >kick Tigrex's ass >15 minutes >kick Malzone's ass >20 fricking minutes
what the hell am I doing wrong with lance? I'm new to it sure but I feel like I never stop attacking and yet the results don't lie
Are you getting your insta block counters and keeping your counter buffs up? Those last 3 constantly give you easy counter opportunities. That said the only "bad" time you really got was malzeno.
>what's the best way to use bullet barrage
on cooldown, into a monster attack but not INTO it so you get hit (so the monster doesn't move while you do it).
Skills, doesn't matter. All your bugs should go to BB or maybe the counter if you really fricked up your positioning.
With how fast the monsters are you probably won't get a Full Burst and Stake combo off, so I just usually go for the FB and after 1 or 2 of them BB is up and ready to go again and I'm looking for an opening.
do you not use ground spitter to power it up first? do you use erupting cannon or wyrmstake? what do you do if the monster is sleeping?
why not the reverse blast dash?
Bugs spent on GS are less damage than saving it for BB. And that's with 100% GS uptime. Any time you spend watching the monster run around the area like a spastic is wasted potential.
I use three main 'combos' >BB is up
use it >BB is not up, I am close
Slam into FB, Stake if I have time (rare) >BB is not up, I am far
rocket into FB, stake if I have time (rare). This is less good than starting from melee range because you 'waste' a shell to get to the monster, but you're going to need to catch up a lot unless you're some ex GS super God who always stands where you need to perfectly already.

why stake and not eruption?
Anonymous
see
the issue with erupting on long is that your BB will be weaker if you slot it, better to use stake.
The REAL big brain use is to scroll swap to it when you don't have the bugs for BB.
wrymstake is more damaging (both on its own and also in BB) but takes fricking forever to do, you're just not likely to ever actually use it. erupting cannon is weaker but faster, and can much more easily be combo'd into a string of attacks, and increases any melee damage you deal, so if you're slapping a lot it has the potential to help deal out more damage.
Take your pick as to what you like, dood.

>Guard Edge
Pretty good since you don’t need any Guard to use it and combos into a fast stake >Reverse Dash
worthless >Redirection
Extremely tight timing (about a tenth of a second like Bow Dodgebolt) but is proportionally satisfying to use effectively, is meter POSITIVE, and a little tricky since you need to keep track of what skills you have selected but this is seriously a must-have for SA, HH, GL

New armor skill from Lunagaron or a lategame lvl3 deco. One point gives you a tiny period of frontal super armor when you skill swap, two converts it into a fully invulnerable dodge when it triggers and refunds like ~10s of wirebug cooldown.

Reverse dash is cool for its high KO if you aim it backwards. It also gives you a blast dash option when using charged shelling.

I had no idea it could KO, neat
Fair point about charged shelling; I honestly just hate using charged shells if it’s not for a stake

I was thinking of using the reverse dash instead of the party since it still has armor during the startup and it has a fast cooldown instead of a medium so it would cuck you out of BB less
plus the sharpening from the counter doesn't proc protective polish so it's kind of pointless

but what do I pick if I want to use BB? should I just have it on the other skill set and swap to it when I want to use it?
is BB good to wake a monster with or should I be doing something else?
More time actually playing the fricking video game instead of zipping through it in under 20 hours is a pretty good reason.
Hey remember how beating the village quests in 7 hours because all it is are the monsters doing one rotation of their movesets, if you're lucky, and then just falling over dead was fricking awesome and went over really well with everybody? Me neither.
Just download a gacha game or play league of legends, you dumb Black person
Speed is the reward for properly preparing and gearing, maybe trying being less of a homosexual
sunbreak has been so fricking disappointing so far, i avoided the leaks of the roster im in mr3 and the only new monsters so far ar ethe fricking crabs?
How many weapons do people tend to specialize and use more than others in these games? I'm currently using SA and SnS. Thinking about starting to use a third one to rotate, but I'm scared of combos and rotations starting to get mixed up.
I used up to 6 in iceborne, no muscle memory problems, weapons are too different, right now I'm just using my 2 mains lance and SA because frick grinding for stopgap weapons while you go through the main story
I've never had any muscle memory overlap between different weapons, they play too differently
, that never happens to me. My only problem is forgetting combos entirely cause committing a new weapons moves to muscle memory is a time investment if you aren't playing it constantly.
>be hammer bro >Monster down, charging up for a bonk >GS comes over to the head, plops down one of those tiny timer bombs to trigger his counter and sends me flying
almost as bad as the gunlance fricks that can't stop nuking everyone away from the monster. sad state of affairs when melee chads piss me off more during a hunt than range
gunners are my favourite people to be grouped with in hunts cause frick trying to get to those afflicted shitzones without some pierce god fricking every square inch of the monster simultaneously.
What don't you get?
Water strike is busted goof, an insane parry with no downside
The new spin charge is a straight upgrade that lets you chain level 3 attacks over and over on a stunned monster by switching to red, spin charging to blue, using the blue charge, then switching back to red for another spin until you have impact crater up.
All you do is run around in blue mode fishing for level 3 head bonks or else parries if the monster is too fast for bonks then go apeshit with impact craters and level 3 chained attacks until it gets up.
>Almudron quest with Rondine >she places a trap >disappears >comes back on a Garangolm >rides it straight into the trap

Holy shit she's unironically so fricking shit, I hate her so much it's unreal. >Gets chipped a little bit of health >Chugs potion >Have to hear her disgusting chugging for the full 5 seconds despite his health being full for a while now.
I miss the old longsword, and by old longsword i mean gen 2 longsword, the one that had 4 moves total but you could combo freely and the whole selling point of the weapon being fadeslash' hitboxes that were incredibly fun for trying out positioning and being the fastest long melee weapon at the time.
I wish they could just bring it back, something simple without any counters, maybe as a new weapon like a naginata or a pike.
since there seems to be some SnS chads in here, is there a new bread and butter combo, or is it still Hard Basher? I hope the BnB is sword now so you have that option of HB on shit zones or after a shield bash on the base and sword everywhere else.
Lateral Slash and Perfect Rush are better combos
Shield Bash is still great cause of stun/exhaust + no sharpness loss, but lateral slash/PR is like 20% raw better otherwise (with element obviously it's even better), so fit that in when you can
Just don't waste all your sharpness before the monster transitions areas
trying to fit in Polish to my set so that shouldn't be an issue. I found someone discussing it here
https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterMeta/comments/vqfpi7/optimal_dps_combo_for_sns_in_sunbreak/
so it looks like for me, a shitter, the full B (lateral slash) into spinning reaper is the go-to since I don't see myself having many chances to use that infinite loop combo on these sugar addicted monsters (and when they are down I want to use Perfect Rush anyways because it's cool), specially because after the first it requires 3 B inputs anyways because of the chop.
tl:dr yeah it looks like lateral into reaper is the way to go unless you're against a hard part, need sharpness, or are at the face and want to KO a hoe
I don't know if that's completely accurate with the whole "looping is the BEST"
It seems like he did perfect rush into spinning reaper, but the falling shield bash is way more damage
Perfect Rush should be optimal for downs
If you want my honest advice then the truth is that all SnS basic combos are relatively close in power. The main thing is that you get to the spinning reaper at the end which they all can do. Hard bash is the weakest but deals tons of KO and uses little sharpness. Twin blade is strong with element and lateral slash is good all around. Remember that you can use A combos after X combos but not the other way around. If you're not attacking the head, use a combo that deals cutting damage since you won't KO anyways. Unless you know that hitzone is weaker to blunt however.
No, monster HP is too bloated now while even LBB+s are still only doing 150 damage, so not viable to do solo runs and not super worth it online. Most people online don't even seem to bother carrying them anymore because 9 times out of 10 someone will keep ungaing and waste the sleep anyway. Like, you can get a nice chunk of 1k damage if everyone sets down bombs, but it's never once happened to me in a random hub.
Eh, 2-4. It depends on the monster. If they have a low head thats easy to hard bash consistently then you should get more than 2. Some monsters that stand up like Goss can be harder to get more KOs on.
How much do weapons differ between games? If I got gud at a certain weapon in Rise, what are the chances of me being good with it in future games, or going back to World?

Hopefully nothing, World's Variants are a fricking disgrace.
You both know that Seething is already confirmed for TU1 right?
>worse bazel that took away everything that was cool about the monster besides the theme
why would you even want this guy back
Is it just me or is the afflicted end game system kind of lame?
Monsters on the same tier drop the same level of afflicted material, so you'd just want to farm weaker monsters on the same tier like say Great Izuchi for the first tier and Rathian for the second tier. Only difference being monsters with more breakable parts have more chance of dropping more afflicted materials.
In the credit roll they only have one person listed as an “endgame programmer”. Please understand
why did they remove the boob window on the armor?
bladie ver never had it
ah.. okay it's still a very nice armor set
I miss gunner armour, or the beta/alpha thing. Why did they remove it in Rise? It feels weird to just have 1 armour set per weapon. I had some hopes that Sunbreak would include them but no luck.
I assume they're trying to figure something out because Beta absolutely mogged Alpha in World-IB and the latter was just layered bait
It's an easy fix honestly. Just make Alpha have more skills than you can get with the slots offered by beta. Then it's a case of thinking about whether you want the skill or don't need it so using a slot would be better despite having less efficiency.
That's stupid, armour models are a tiny part of a game's download so that definitely isn't the reason.
I don't like getting shot but that doesn't mean I have to like stubbing my toe because it's comparatively less painful. What's your point? Also gunner armour was drastically different
Because creating HD assets takes more time and resources, so if i had to choose, i'd take more unique weapons
Because you have layered armor. The idea probably was limiting set amounts so the game isn't 200gigs huge by including extra models beyond male and female + layered versions. Blame world.
I'm less bothered by the lack of secondary sets than the boned weapons in world.
Half of the betas were just the same armor with different colorable parts anyways
>Narga X has the gunner helm but blademaster everything else
Rise is weird.
ruined it. like magnamalo X. helmets that show the face, but mainly nose and mouth are fricking shit
Narga X always showed the face though
Am I the only one who fricking hates fighting Zinogre in Rise? He's so fricking annoying in this game.
I'm not sure what it is about him, myself. He was always one of my favourites and even in World I don't remember anything being off. Is it that he charges forward too much or just that a lot of his attacks have huge aerial hitboxes whereas before that was only ever an issue for IG?
They made the tracking on his paw stomp stupid
I never had an issue with HR Zinogre in Rise or MR in IB but the sunbreak version makes me want to throw my controller through the wall. maybe my nmissions are bugged but fighting Zin solo feels like a chore. Always backing up, Always dashing, always doing the tail backflip. I never see it even use its electricity moves. Just dash, tail flip, run away. over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until it dies.
I think the tail backflips hotbox is too big
I just got dunked by this Black person because he did a 180 and whacked me with the 2nd hit on his ground smack combo

I really hoped they changed it so you don't have to wear full set for stormsoul or make it work with decos. But I tried it yesterday, its the same armor in HR/MR but now you have 5 lvl2 slots. Its such a fricking shame.
The armor sets were even worse when Rise released, because Stormsoul only got introduced with the allmother update.
set bonus is mistranslated, because the translation team tooo busy making up dumb homiehomosexual memes instead.
>5 level 2 slots
I might actually use it now for a good luck set, I can get attack 7 and 15% thunder boost for the narwa weapon
why cant i get into dual blades in this game? i used to main them in world but they feel so awkward to play in this game
How do they feel awkward? Its insane how easy and free it is to just get in and out of monsters with evade extender slotted in.
Hows LBG in Sunbreak? Saw that one Sunbreak NPC with one and now I wanna be a cool gunner pew pew and shit. Do I have to use all ammo types like the status/elemental ones or can I just stick to Normal/Pierce/Spreads?
You build for one ammo type for max deeps. I'm using a nargacuga lbg with the argosy dreamshell set currently for a pierce set.
why the frick did they only give the citadel 2 camps?
They want you to use Buddy Recon
the buddy recon spot in the north west of the citadel is great but you can only use it once which is stupid, i would happily pay double the resources per additional use of it

ZSD is such a fricking trap in sunbreak
can't count the amount of times i've nearly killed myself just jumping on a monster and eating literally my entire healthbar's worth of chip damage
compressed looks cooler anyway
It's also shit
and cooler, frick ZSD world made me haye that move, thanks to sb I can just wild swing the charged axe when the monster is downed
I'd kick you from my hunt if I saw you waste an entire down window on fricking wild swing. Wild swing is only for procing the part breaker buff and 2 stage gauge upkeep. It is terrible dps.
doesnt wild swing get better with each swing?
there needs to be a deco or skill to reduce it or something
I’ve basically stopped using ZSD if the monster isn’t down, even if you latch on to the monster’s back or tail the most random moves nearly kill me
it made more sense in world when you had mantles. here its just a noobtrap.
Sounds like the lance's claw counter in IB. I carted so many times with that move.
Eh you could get away with some bullshit with that one since you got a damage reduction from it and the clutch attack is obviously faster
Was safer than blocking a whole combo head on in a lot of cases
It's good to see these posts. Its almost as if you're not supposed to just mindlessly latch on whenever because you'll end up taking large damage against anything actually threatening. ZSD isn't a trap, its supposed to be a finisher for when the monster is downed or for certain openings.
>its supposed to be a finisher for when the monster is downed or for certain openings
then too bad the morph combo is still better during those openings then lmao
You use it as the last thing in the combo. Like after the double morph, switch back and end with zsd. There's tons of strong combos you can do with SA.
Frick that shit, gamble all the fricking time like a real man and only cart when you unlucky. That's the real way to play SA.

I used DBs and it was slow but essentially free
I miss him
are you fricking serious. how is nargacuga greatsword STILL THE FRICKING BEST GS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Nargacuga GS isn't even close to being the best GS. I don't think it's even top 10.
judging from the stats, it is. or what is everyone else using then? cause goss is shittier than it
Gore's is better, 20 more raw for a mere 15% affinity which is easy as shit to make up for. Plus it also has dragon which despite barely doing anything is technically more damage. Also it has a lvl 2 rampage slot so you can use the "bonus damage against monster type" decos which are an extra 5% damage.
I thought the rampage slots only worked in rampage.
Cute moron
How do they work now?

Yes because you thought a person SHOULD BE ABLE to use HR armour, not that you are using HR armour. Fricking learn the nuance of language you stupid fricks.

If you thought that was grammatically incorrect then you're the ESL here. That's proper English, not that you'd know.

Laughable
Learning how to actually speak in English also entails structuring your sentences such that they follow the conversation, unlike your brain damaged ass that just assumed anyone else was thinking of HR armor and cried about it after getting called out for his moronic answer
Holy fricking damage control
thats not what you said at all, you accused him of falling for the meme, ie wearing HR armour, but keep trying to dig your way out by all means, its amusing

Most attacks in G/Master Rank should be taking atleast 50-90% of your health unless you're overgeared.
Okay, so it's still just normal MH, where every monster will kick my ass.
I don't know anon. I'm using an unupgraded unjanath X set and espinas charges are eating most of my life. I'll probably need either the birds, upgrade my armor or both
It's just the game while you're progressing
The endgame armors have much higher base defense beating out upgraded rarity 8s like you guys have, and obviously upgraded they'll be even better.
Defense Boost is pretty good if you need to tank a few hits without changing armors so much while you're progressing till you get to those better armors, I ran DB7 + ele res as needed till after I beat the final boss, MR5 hits pretty hard for low rarity armors
When the frick am I going to get better pants than the Ingot legs
That’s the neat thing you don’t

Final bosses or malzeno maybe, I was playing with the armor set search to see potential replacements

There's also a few monsters after final boss related to MR caps that have good gear.
The title updates will be sure to shake up the meta
I'm thinking Malzeno is the play
Final boss greaves has a skill that's detrimental
Ceanataur is such a wiener sucker. Fought it once and its speed was ridiculous. The bleed barely bothered me but that butthole moves way too damn fast.

god fricking damnit where are the fricking ore nodes on these new maps? holy frick i hate nu mh
anon you can literally filter and highlight the ore spawns on the in-game map
Like damn did you skip every tutorial or what
yes, i know but they literally are not there. i can go to every single level on the map and there are no fricking nodes.
Okay, just checking you had that knowledge
Which ore spawns? Citadel has a bunch of secret passages and a ton of overhangs. Jungle also has a bunch of verticality.
TODAY I'M LEARNING TO STRONGARM
im really not enjoying gunlance right now, just killed malzenio and man im annoyed at the elden ring boss syndrome of hyper delayed attacks. might change to SA.
which bosses have hyper delayed attacks? so far i've been rolling as i feel and it doesn't feel like they hold shit back just to frick with the player like elden ring
Almudron
you're right actually, i forgot about that obnoxious c**t. easily the worst gen 5 monster across all 4 games
>elden ring boss syndrome of hyper delayed attacks
?
Does anyone even like almadron?
He is a crap fight and not even cool looking.
I hate Volvidon more.
I wish his gunlance was better, his armour looks cool.
I think he has the potential to be cool with him creating mud pillars and shit. But half the time the fights ends up being lame with the AI just whipping its tail around and hiding itself.
>getting filtered by a monster = shitmon
probably pierce gun or GL
I thought he was one of the better fights in base Rise
Nowadays not really that standout
It's the Ulcerated Tree Spirit of MH
I'll take him over basarios.
Only contrarians whose vocabulary consists exclusively of "filtered" (when nobody actually got filtered by Almudron)
Would be cool if he didn't just spaz around the entire time.
I like everything about almudron except actually fighting the fricking thing
They needed to seriously playtest Almudron more and focus on how TERRIBLE the camera can be at times when close to him. Mudman has its fricking tail blocking everything at times and disorienting you even with your silhouette on. Its animations are also pretty hard to discern when the camera gets to close and you end up getting hit from one of his 360 tail attacks.
Like him more than Jyura
I do
His recovery animations have a very unorthodox positioning to properly punish. At the very least I have to actually pay attention to where I am and what he's doing other than a lot of the other new dodge-and-spank shitmons with no thought put into them that you can just play on autopilot
Magmadron can frick off though
I think his idea is much better than the execution. the idea of him raising pillars and changing the terrian you fight him is good but he's too big and his actual attacks make it so that you don't have the time to attack the parts you want (specially the tail) reliably
He is the worst gen 5 monster and it isn’t really even close.
Too fricking big
Bare minimum needs the camera permanently pulled back like some bigger monsters in World did
I hated him in Rise and the reveal of Magmalmudron made me want to kill myself. Of all monsters to give a fricking variant. I would've liked something like a thunder Goss Harag or blast Aknosom.
I felt like Magma Almudron was a better fight than the normal Almudron because the lava puddles don't stay on the ground as much as the mud puddles do.
He's also like half the size, which helps.
I don't know why they'd give Almudron a magma variant instead of bringing back Agnaktor.
To piss you off
hate him but i like the female armor
What armor and weapon are considered good for HH in SB? Still just stacking attack boost?
>don't watch MH youtubers
>thought this was going to be a free camera view of what happens in Malzeno's grab
disappointment
Your fault for being dumb
The thumbnail was an ingame shot of Malzeno's grab, his fault for being misleading
Damn bro, look at that incredible ingame shot
>Not recognizing the guy that animated Ganker rage and contributed a bunch to early the chans
>*licks her crotch*
what did she mean by this?
>those constant lewd moans
I never knew that she walked. The voice clips are so fricking low on that armor.
Name a monster who shouldn't be in Rise and everyone would cheer if he or she is removed.
diablos
Why does Diablos barely go under the sand in Rise but in World, he did it 24/7?
World Diablos is turbo sand Black person
is it just me or are sonic bombs really hard to use in rise vs world, I feel like if you do it too early it has no effect, and half the time even when you get one out on time they just ignore it
fricking vegan peice of shit
It's cause he's so fast in burrowing towards a player now. Half the time he's already gonna be out of the sand when I'm just about to throw it.
it used to be like this, not sure when they changed it but quite possible World. Instead sonic bombs where rather hard to get in World
>iframing with DB
everybody just assumed you are trolling
add evade window, evade distance and you can just spam dodge through everything like you would in Elden Ring
Diablos is a joke in Rise.
he's not hard he's annoying. nobody likes chink bus hitboxes.
Jyuratodus
>First shows up as a High Rank urgent for some insane reason
>Only appears in one map so you barely ever fight it anyway
>Already two other mud monsters in the game
>No other Piscine Wyverns to justify the inclusion, new or otherwise
>Got buffed to hell but didn't actually become more interesting, so it's the same boring monster but now it takes ten times longer to kill
There are definitely worse monsters in the game but in terms of "why the frick did they include this" Jyura takes the cake
replace it with nibelsnarf, do it capcom you cowards.
Diablos, Jyuratodus, & Basarios. Frick these trio Black folk.
Basarios if they aren’t going to add Gravios.
Yeah I’ll echo jyura, unfun fight and takes longer to kill than it should
Are the people who claim Sunbreak is easy-peasy just trolling or are they only playing multiplayer and rolling nothing but small gold crowns? Like don't get me wrong it's not pants shittingly difficult but I've fainted more in my ~25ish hours than I did in all 100+ of base Rise
>persistent aoe hitbox tags you after you already got hit for 40% with one small shove
I’ve had to restock mega potions at the camp because I don’t carry honey it’s incredibly depressing
After i got a weapon with purple sharpness most fights with single monsters take 9 min tops.
I hunted monsters as it was meant, with 3 friends.
the game gives you a lot of single slots on your armor and besides Flinch Free 1 I just load them up with defense boost.
The game is incredibly easy compared to other MH entries. Sunbreak is still slightly harder than Rise, so if you only played RIse it might be ""hard"" for you. But it is objectively braindead easy for G-Rank MH.
It feels easier to clear but significantly harder to play optimally.
>The game is incredibly easy compared to other MH entries
the delusional is real lmao
Frick off homosexual. I played more total combined hours of Monster Hunter than you are alive.
Rise and Sunbreak are braindead easy and if you find it "hard" in any way, you are either a new player or an eternal shitter.
Post your 4U guild card homosexual.
you played 341874 hours of Monster Hunter?
Fricking impressive moron
Japanese game for school children.
Even just one year is almost 9000 hours which would honestly be pretty sad
I've only played MHW+IB and Rise, and Sunbreak's story is definitely the hardest so far. Hopefully we get something comparable to AT Nerg/Alatreon/Fatalis in the title updates
It's definitely on the easier end of the MH games, the only ones really being easier are probably world/iceborne. We're not going back to FU/handheld difficulty again.
Post sub 5 min naked Malzeno run.
Anyone still using Diving Wyvern?
Me
Powder is too jank and doesn’t work in multiplayer, kinsect throw is slow
I use it normally but have Kinsect Nuke on my other switch skill when I have the triple extract dust on the field
I totally blanked out on Switch Skills since I don't use them at all on SnS, but I should do this too. Feels like I constantly have Wirebugs up as IG since I'm fishing for the triple extract in order to use AKA, might as well use those on divebomb instead.
I do because I’m a gay that wants to pretend to be a Dragoon.
I need a fricking MANTLE for everything I want.
FRICK
>I need a fricking MANTLE
worldbabbies everyone. maybe stay in your game that has your mantles so you can freely dodge everything and take no damage homosexual
Holy shit Anon, you're moronic as frick.
>replying to obvious bait
anon please
fricking morons
Dumb Black person. Mantle is a rare material in SB. Play the game moron.
Did they fix the i-frames and tracking tied to FPS issue yet? I don't feel like playing on ultra-hardmode just because I target 90fps.
That's not even a thing
It is, though.
It's really not, but if you're stupid enough to have it scare you away from playing the game you just shouldn't bother
that was debunked ages ago.
also it makes zero sense. monsters in multiplayer are synced server side. so even if the host was playing at 240fps, their client has no influence.
>Mighty Bow israeliteel doesn't show up until after the main story
>didn't know this until I got to that point but still committed to not replacing my HR Bow armor until I can make it
I did this to myself for no good reason
at least I got better with Dodgebolt
>9 years since IG introduced
>still can't pet your Kinsect
>petting bugs
I miss feeding it random rocks for a power up.
Kinsects are weird.
so what's the verdict on DB's slide slash combo?
trying to learn how to i-frame with it feels awful
nobody?
there's gotta be some DB players out there
I don’t use that shit because it can only go left or right in very limited angles. I get not going forward but you should be able to angle it more
yea, it's awful is that slide slashing outside of demon mode gives you way better control on which direction you go with it
why would I ever use anything but demon flight and piercing bind
piercing bind is shit.
It's pretty nice with the malzeno lifesteal skill, didn't use it much in the basegame but I like it in SB
The drill only stops if you hit a weakpoint right?
Some monsters fall too flat to use it on them easily on the ground but for the most part it's pretty good for jamming yourself in their face after an attack with long recovery
Yeah I used it like 5 or so times in the beginning along with rape demon mode, but I just think they're less fun so I stopped and haven't used them since.
Also LMAO at the thing that replaces the wirebug counter, I actually used it in one battle and then muscle memory used it and facetanked a hit and laughed out loud and unequipped it
dual blades would be my favorite weapon hands down and my favorite DB incarnation in all of Mon Hunter if Demon Flight spam wasn't the best dps. Shit is AIDS. Drill is amazing and like you said, getting to ditch pierce is amazing.
>a thousand scales of dread
>dark wings, dark work
yea im thinking KINO
Switch Axe CHADS
What have you been running? I'm using Power Phials more now thanks to the new counter switch skill.
just unlocked hysteria and holy shit it's like a drug. I'm using orangaten's weapon but i might switch to a power phial weapon with this thing
>Fight Seregios for first time
>Using power barrel HBG with Rath armour, no evade extender
>His flying kicks are often literally impossible to avoid
>After carting twice, pull out my lance
>Proceed to shove the lance so fricking far up it's ass that it comes out it's mouth
New lance feels like cheating.
clearing MR with Lance was a really weird experience, stuff like Rajang, Espenis and Steve were absolutely free, but Rakna, Bazel and Tetranodon nearly triple-carted me
It's just Iceborne lance but actually does damage now
And you can ignore fricking Spiral Thrust
I've just done the first couple of afflicted monsters and this mechanic feels bad.
Do they get better later? Because so far they're just easier versions of the normal monster because of the constant free staggers when you break the glowing weak points, but with the tedium of a massive health pool.
Anon, they meant Mantle as in the MR / G Rank israeliteel that has a 3% - 2% chance to drop from monsters.
If I had a nickel for every time the game has thrown me against a gold crown monstrosity as my first attempt against an MR monster, I'd have like 10 nickels.
Why's it keep fricking happening?
In base rise I had two teo kills and both gold crowns, shit was wack
>Thank you for playing!
>people actually skipped the credits and missed the kino scene of you and fio watching the sun break
Is there a reason to use helicopter over Kinsect Slash? I guess for element and status, but helicopter is so slow and eats sharpness while Kinsect Slash gives you a mini Diving Wyvern if you have red extract.
It's more hits, misses less and it's easier to position yourself.
Also better for breaking stuff like wings and spines.
Am I weird if I think the Wroggi is WAY HARDER than big wyverns and elden dragons? Those stupid poison clouds are a way bigger nuisance than Rathalos' fire or anything else.
palico just drops the vase and smoke goes wshhhh
so no
Vase of Vitality is underrated as hell.
for real, wait i have to chug a heal pot and eat a nulberry?, catto, please do the needful.
its equivalent to using speed sharpen when palamutes exist
How to backslide GSbros? Is it supposed to just be like a tackle but in the opposite direction?
It's useless if you have power sheath
Yea was mainly wondering how this move could justify replacing power sheath. Trying to see if I'm missing some cool mechanic to it
Is the Nargacuga's IG still the best one to use? Or do elements matter now?
Fuxk no, narga weapons are nowhere near the best this time around
Bros I fricking HATE aurora somnacanth, the afflicted one. All it does is spam fricking aoe attacks and its entire body is a hitbox for every single move
Somnacanth is a stealthily shitty monster. If you swapped the size of almudron and somnacanth you would swap the general sentiment about them.
>Espinas urgent
>"Lol it's just spikey rathian innit?"
>Proceed to almost triple cart
In my defence it was a gold crown
for 3ds, can you not play mh3u online multiplayer? is it only local
its local unless you have a wii u where you can download some eshop app to play online multiplayer through the 3ds.
stupid I know
They didn't figure it out until 4U.
can i at least play 4u with a friend who is in europe while im NA? dont care about the ping
Yeah, though I've never done it so I don't know how reliable it is.
yeah just add their friend code and join their room.
Yeah, I've done it countless times since I'm in EU and most of my mh friends are on the other side of the world. As long as noone is using mcdonalds router or similar tech, you should be fine.
Crossover when?
>hammer can now just cycle between level 3 charges over and over with spin charge
Shockwave seems like mostly a waste of time but soon charge is fricking bonkers
Is Perfect Rush still best DPS on big openings or is there another combo I should spam?
Perfect Rush is good but I think X -> X -> A -> A -> X+A -> loop is technically better
>learning SA
>hey this weapon is kinda cool and does decent damage
>haven't used GS since world
>I wonder how it's doing now
>beat hunts in almost half the time than I used to when rocking SA
>need way less skills
welp now I'm completely demotivated from using SA
That just sounds like your previous experience carrying you.
Why do people act as if strong arm was this super duper easy mode attack that never fails and is instant win?
>"Huuur duuur never got a hunt slower than 15 minutes
>is a range shutter
OF.FRICKING.COURSE.
anon i know you hate ranged but im playing the one that actually fights the gunner shitzones of most monsters unlike pierce subhumans and im putting forth the fact that i have a gunlance friend doing similar times, what the frick are you even doing to have your hunts take fricking 20-25?
how so? How do you even use Hysteria/Strongarm without small bombs?
the game is moronic and you can counter fricking roars
are you saying countering roars is a bad thing?
Nta but you don’t deserve a 4k damage but for countering a roar
>Play Lance
>Have fun sticking to monster's face and countering everything they try
>Decide to try Hammer
>Literally just spam charged Impact Crater
>Kill the monsters in 1/3 of the time it took to kill them with Lance
I like the Lance playstyle, but holy shit it feels so weak.
I have tasted the glory of Spiribird Caller + Blood Rite and my set flexibility is ruined forever. I can't not include them.
QRD on Spiribird Caller? The description doesn't sound that fantastic.
you automatically get spiribirds. combine that with the dango skill or the rampage skill (there are not a whole lot of good lvl 1 rampage skills anyway) and get full bird stats faster than collecting them.
It's stealthily incredible. On longer hunts (20-25 min) I'll have everything maxed out.
I’ve never gotten a hunt that long even in multi hunts and afflicted quests
What weapon
what fights are even taking you 20-25? allmother narwa was my longest and only took me 15 even carting twice
not the anon youre replying too but im a rapid fire normal 2 lbg here, so im pretty low in the damage department
even my buddy playing gunlance gets similar times
Not that anon but using any bowgun eliminates you from time discussions. You can be absolute ass at the game and never hit 20 minutes with a bowgun.
Cute sisters
do assist Kinsects count for Chain Crit?
I just unlocked the mr4 switch skills
what should I be using with the switch axe now exactly? is wire step good? how am I supposed to use the counter exactly?
wire step repositions you quickly to the monsters flank, its useful against monsters who are slippery fricks. the counter works just like longsword counter, monster hits you and you press the counter button right before they do to counterattack plus gain some amped energy.
>some amped energy
You immediately go in amp state from 0.
but what skills should I be using with the counter? I was using invincible gambit and compressed on one set and switching to zsd and swb on the other but now I don't know what to use
>all these CB and SA users stressing over which combo is best and what switch skills to you
Have hammer
Bonk head
Simple as.
Jesus how much I fricking hate basarios. A walking shitzone
>the distance you travel with switch evade at EE3
NARGACUGA
I really love how clean Sunbreak looks
not sure if you are joking. Why are the walls so blue in your picture, are you playing at 99 brightness?
trick question, if you hit a shitzone with piercing bind, do you try to attack the kunai or rather go for a weakspot (esp. with wex)?
Best Palico Secret Move? And when the FRICK I'll be able to change more support skills?
endgame is garbage
They had one guy and he did his best
i like it since it discourages just running wex 3 and calling it a day
i guess that makes sense kinda? i see it more as highly optimized meta bowgun is equivalent to that, but when im using normal ammo and fighting shit that barely has 40s on the hitzones while blademasters have 50-70 in some places i think they can get pretty equivalent
im so fricking pissed. why the actual frick does citadel run at 40 fps when every other map i get 100 fps. this is so fricking frustrating
Coolest design in the game yet imo.
>people tryin to trap afflicted monsters
lol
BULLET BARRAGE COMIN THROUGH
Is it just me or did they amp up the chances for the room decoration lottery at the shop? They very rarely showed up for me back in base game and the chances of actually getting the jackpot was slim to none, but they've been showing up a lot more now and I get them on first attempt
What axes we running in the post game Swaxechads? I'm personally using the Kamura one for now and it's dealing out great damage.
I'll probably just use the same ones I had in HR
Teostra for blast, Reconqueress for Exhaust and Barioth for crit
I'm not at postgame yet, but the frankenstein gorilla one seems good. Has like 320 damage and exhaust.
Hot sweaty sex with Minayle.
seriously cant stand her voice lines in this game, constantly boasting about how great she is, the kamura village blacksmith was just chill and let me browse in peace
>He has speach enabled
Turn on MH language.
Even then she constantly talks when I'm just trying to browse the sets and figure out what to make. Whoever decided that NPCs should constantly talk when you have their menu open should get a cactus shoved in their anus.
MH language feels kinda emotionless this time around tho
That's because the old jap fricking hated making nippon steal for a Gaijin. Thus why he barely spoke to us.
You are literally from Kamura
Wasn't the main character just raised in Kamura after they were abandoned as a baby.
I hated that old boomer frick and used the based generic as frick shopkeeper in the hub instead
that ratbag cat never stopped mewing and meowing in there, a small hell
so should I be spamming the swaxe counter or what? I don't understand what I'm doing here
Just to get yourself amped at least.
Helps a lot with Power Phial SAs
I think, in theory, you can counter and instantly shoot into amped, do the usual ZSD into SWB, then skill switch into charger, repeat until amped dies, then skill switch back to counter and repeat.
if youre playing grounded style swaxe, then yeah, spam counter and use 2 stage morph/swaxe rampage israeliteel to keep up your sword meter. if youre playing aerial swaxe, then you still want to have counter on one skillswitch set so you can instant amp at the start of the fight, but afterwards youll want to use your wireburgs on silk charger and SWB like usual
but what about silk step?
I don't know what my loadouts should be now
also should I be using the overhead slam?
Silk step is neat but I don't know a good case for it if you're already rocking EE, which you should be.
I don't know what my two different loadouts should be now
I had compressed on one but that doesn't mesh at all with the counter
silk step is a safety move, think of it as a version of absolute evasion that repositions you better. if you want to have it on thats fine, but from my experience EE2 is enough to always dodge anything anyways.
overhead slash and 2 stage morph slash are pretty much straight upgrades, but every other silkbind choice is really up to you, they're all good.
So am I gonna be fighting base game monsters with the very occasional subspecies throughout the entire storyline? What the frick is this
>so am I gonna have the exact experience I should have expected if I researched the game at all before I bought it? What the frick is this
literally every monster hunter game ever
you have mario Aknosom who likes to frequent frost island and jungle and spit fireballs directly in the water.
What MR do you unlock Valstrax?
MR 70
Does Ballistics increase the critical range in both directions or only max range?
>3 fire subspecies
>one of them for a monster that was already a fire monster to begin with
fricking why
Pyre Rakna feels like they had two different ideas for MR Rakna and just said frick it and made both
What tactic is best with SA?
Yeah, when the monster is down I try to do the rotation and then when he's doing his thing I tend to do more ZSD as the rotation takes quite a while to do and he runs away or stuns me during it.
yeah thats fine, your friend is a gay, youre playing correctly
either is 100% fine. Look at this autismo; he uses ZSD a ton.
tl:dr; your friend is moronic.
I do that combo while amped is charging up and then spam ZSD into SWB like a fricking terrorist, using charger to regain meter to do it as long as possible.
there isn't much difference but as always you can die easily using ZSD and you won't die doing R2->B->B
aren't you only supposed to do a single sword double swing into the axe morph instead of going into the long sword swing finisher
the double axe morph swing is what does a frickton of damage
yes, from neutral in sword mode, A -> R -> R repeat
Oh shit, I misunderstood it because I interpreted A+A as the double swing. Yes, it's R2 while moving forward or netural from Axe > A/Triangle > R2, repeat
You can just set the other loadout to the other skills and use them if you want to. You can be lazy, like me, and use one loadout of Overhead, ZSD, SWB, Charger, 2-Morph and get through the game ezpz
all these bow users frickin carting 3 times in 5 minutes.
and all they do is simply sit there and go ponk ponk ponk. i thought it was dashin to get charge?
>dash charge
everyone uses dodgebolt now
guiding lands is better
Tempered monsters are better
the monsters in world are better because most monsters needs to be countered now
>guiding lands is better
This, guiding lands was pure SOVL
I started with World/IB and Rise/SB, wanted to try out MH GU, is it possible to solo everything or are there fights like Fatalis and Lao that are only possible online?
You can solo everything, but Lao solo will be a pain in the ass without a good setup
That's great, can't wait to play after I'm done with SB
You can solo everything, you just need to know how to play and have good enough gear. You don't even need to Minmax, unless you are autistic and going for speed runs.
I was interested in trying LS now that it was nerfed and not moronic, but is this basically all it is?
Sakura spam if not yellow - sheath
Helm Splitter spam if yellow - sheath
Super Ultra Mega Sheath 10000 for 50 billionty damage
repeat
>if yellow
uh bro it goes up to red
and when it's red you use the new move that is 90% of your damage. I don't see where what I said is wrong.
I went straight from 10 to 20 to 28 after getting those urgents done
question for lance mains, can you use skyward thrust paired with spiral thrust or anchor rage?
No they're on the same button
Sadly it kinda sucks compared to the other two, at least Spiral Thrust can be used as a gap closer or maybe get all 3 hits on a downed monster.
The only use case I can see for Skyward is if you're using a paralysis lance so you can force them to stand still.
Now that I really finish the game I think that Sunbreak isnt even as good as vanilla Iceborne. Also, Sunbreak didnt fix the major problems from Rise and even doubled down on most of them. It's ok for a spin-off game but you are really better off playing Iceborne or the older games not GU
So, I finally unlocked Anomaly Quests. Any advice.
I was thinking of keeping my Long Gunlance to hit Qurio points, but maybe I should go Gunner and let online randoms distract the Monster?
A thought on a final boss mechanic.
So, that attack were he does the succ and you hide behind rocks. We didn't do enough damage, he blew up, I got caught and I only lost about a third of my HP. Because it doesn't kill you, wouldn't it be better to ignore the rocks and continue uptime? Even better if he does fall over.
The HP bloat is really not doing it for me. Shit's dumb.
>EE with the new LS iai stance
wew lad
I feel like I do way more damage on HH than SnS. It might be this sharpness regen song keeping me in the purple 24/7 that is doing it, though.
>Get to MR3 urgent quest without issue, nothing does enough damage for me to use more than 1-2 of my own healing items
>Gorg fricks my ass raw multiple times
I see it's already time to start looking to upgrade my armor.
I didnt upgrade till end of mr4 since everything was two shotting me.
Perhaps if I changed outta my big pp DPS set to something with SOME kind of defensive skills I can avoid making a new set.
Im using big pp set mind you, not gonna tell you to git gud because they really hit hard as frick so a single mistake can cause a chain of bs.
I'm moronic how the frick do I TCS with strongarm?
Press your wirebug button while you're charging
She is going to propose to MC-kun at some point
she is only being nice anon, her love towards you is purely platonic for the sake of the kingdom.
She should marry the Hunter and have strong hunter children
You know, for the kingdom
fiorayne is literally the perfect woman
how did capcom do it?
When's our Marriage Event Quest, Capcom!? You cowards!
She is fricking that Wyverian. You know what one.
She is fricking disgusted by him
Bahari is literally “that guy”
He literally complains that you're all she talks about
Fio feels like they designed her with "player's waifu" in mind honestly and I like it
>after credits scene
I thought we were gonna fricking kiss, would've been weird and out-of-place but hot as hell
kek I don't know why but the thought made me laugh. Imagine Capcom randomly deciding "yeah they should kiss here".
I mean realistically I thought they might hold hands, which also would've been weird and out-of-place but hot as hell. Why else would the hunter and Fio slowly walk up to the balcony over the water with the sunrise between them and slightly angle their bodies towards each other and the coyly glance at each other. I was honestly prepared for them to hold hands while the scene was progressing
>about to start my first Furious Rajang hunt
>set it to allow join and start the hunt
>go to home screen on Switch and go downstairs cause I forgot to sort out my dinner
>come back 15 minutes later ready to start my hunt
>hunt has been going on for 15 minutes with me just stood there AFK
I thought it would be paused...
Good thing there was another 15 minutes of the fight left to go, you could've missed out entirely if it was anything else
No they were too good, he got to limping as soon as I got there and the hunt ended at 17 minutes. Nobody gave me a like...
Do buddies in the Dojo gain a set amount of experience, or is it a portion of the exp. you gain when on a quest? Trying to find the fastest way to level up for buddy skills.
wow just slap on bagels armor and you're now a full gunlance build
Holy shit I hate her voice so much. I hate that she is constantly dancing.
neat.
I wonder if you can use the toads as bait.
I feel like they tweaked monsters a bit compared to the base game, I catch them just fricking around more often
Saw Furious Rajang sitting on his ass like an orangutan staring off into the distance
>astalos was sitting with espinas until mizutsune spat on it
I've noticed that to. I keep running in to monsters that are just sleeping on their own. That's great for me and my slamjam.
Sleeping monster makes me happy that I've gotten so good at positioning for a strongarm TCS. Fricking hitting big numbers.
It would be cool if had to study monster like that to unlock info for them in your journal.
>just running around with the ghillie mantle in world taking pics of mons
max comfy, too bad it had something crazy like 32 pictures max in the album
with wiener mods of course
I thought they were being friendly for the first 10 seconds, and then suddenly he gobbles up the frog
opinions on reverse blast for GL?
please respond
Is using the final boss weapons worth it?
Sure, they aren't the most meta choice but they're super comfy since you can ignore sharpness skills without it feeling like shit to use.
If you don't mind the lack of slots sure
The lance is bonkers
They're pretty bad and a noob trap cause of their lack of slots and negative affinity. They're basically the equivalent of 330 raw white sharpness if you use crit boost.
You can build them but I would definitely classify them as one of the worst rarity 12 weapons
Lv3 slot means you can use Daora Soul which cancels out the negative affinity basically for free. Or whatever else you want.
Not having to care about sharpness is worth it for me
Sorry to break it to you, but they nerfed daora soul
Its just straight up not worth running the final boss weapons
Just find a good one with slots (there are plenty, the ludrpth lance is a good starter ) and slot in what you need + anti dragon or whatever
>but they nerfed daora soul
NTA but in what way?
Original: 25% on first hit, 30% on 5th
New:
5% to 15%
Killing monsters slowly? I guess
Monster died, don't care
I'm using Blood Rite too if that triggers you
Why would it trigger me?
Just saying final boss weapons aren't worth it, like for SnS the secta weapons are a better start to endgame. Don't mind the gentle banter anon I don't give a shit what you use, Sunbreak isn't hard and monster hunting isn't a competitive game, its cooperative.
You wanna use them because you hate sharpening go right ahead, its all relatively minor differences
That's not too bad, it's still extra affinity. It's pretty good on the lbg.
>they nerfed daora soul
Not by enough that it matters for what I'm doing
Rarity 10, excuse me
Adding onto this, if your weapon doesn't have slots I wouldn't waste time on it. There's too many skills and better weapons will come out to bother with a no slot weapon.
for gunlance right away yeah but id rather use the corncob or canyane weapon
I practiced it until I nailed it because it triggered me to not know how to do it consistently but it seems like spinning reaper loops are more damage on downs
it takes like 3 loops to match 1 full PR
The last falling bash hit on the PR combo is huge, like 50% of the damage. If you can land that hit it should be better dps than other combos
PR still is the strongest combo on downed monsters assuming you get all 3 timed inputs right. Use both it and a spinning reaper combo for these openings. SB gave a large buff to the correctly timed third hit, I'm starting to think people who don't use PR are just mashing their way through it and don't realize its a timed input combo.
>assuming you get all 3 timed inputs right
Wait what? What times inputs? You don't just spam x after jumping back in?
you wait for the glow for bonus damage
I did not know that. Is it just a case of waiting or do you need to time it exactly like some kind of rhythm game?
you need to press it right after the red flash but the timing isn't that strict
Exactly my point. It's a timed combo. There's a brief audio/visual cue for when you make the next input. This makes the combo really fun and satisfying to master in addition to make it deal high damage. You'll do shit damage if you mash through it.
Cool, also what the frick is with SNS's damage? A weapon this safe has no right hitting as hard as this thing does.
Its damage is backloaded into spinning reaper and you have tiny reach.
>Its damage is backloaded into spinning reaper
How do you spinning reaper?
X+A at the end of a combo (Y B for xbox chads)
>kick Espinas's ass
>13 minutes
>kick Magala's ass
>12 minutes
>kick Tigrex's ass
>15 minutes
>kick Malzone's ass
>20 fricking minutes
what the hell am I doing wrong with lance? I'm new to it sure but I feel like I never stop attacking and yet the results don't lie
Are you getting your insta block counters and keeping your counter buffs up? Those last 3 constantly give you easy counter opportunities. That said the only "bad" time you really got was malzeno.
>Lance
Skyward Thrust is completely busted against some monsters. You can get 3 or 4 hits that hit for 400-500 damage each.
what's the best way to use bullet barrage
what skills should I be using with it
>what's the best way to use bullet barrage
on cooldown, into a monster attack but not INTO it so you get hit (so the monster doesn't move while you do it).
Any time you spend watching the monster run around the area like a spastic is wasted potential.
so what else do you use with it
do you do BB when they're sleeping too or just regular wyvern's fire? that about erupting cannon vs wyrmstake?
I use three main 'combos'
>BB is up
use it
>BB is not up, I am close
Slam into FB, Stake if I have time (rare)
>BB is not up, I am far
rocket into FB, stake if I have time (rare). This is less good than starting from melee range because you 'waste' a shell to get to the monster, but you're going to need to catch up a lot unless you're some ex GS super God who always stands where you need to perfectly already.
why stake and not eruption?
see
wrymstake is more damaging (both on its own and also in BB) but takes fricking forever to do, you're just not likely to ever actually use it. erupting cannon is weaker but faster, and can much more easily be combo'd into a string of attacks, and increases any melee damage you deal, so if you're slapping a lot it has the potential to help deal out more damage.
Take your pick as to what you like, dood.
the issue with erupting on long is that your BB will be weaker if you slot it, better to use stake.
The REAL big brain use is to scroll swap to it when you don't have the bugs for BB.
why use long instead of normal?
hitting these homosexual spastic morons, also long seems to win on most metrics. Caoslayer did all the testing already on Youtube. Thank frick for autismos figuring all this shit out.
so do you literally only use bugs for the BB? do you use the parry or the reverse dash?
what about the redirection skill?
>Guard Edge
Pretty good since you don’t need any Guard to use it and combos into a fast stake
>Reverse Dash
worthless
>Redirection
Extremely tight timing (about a tenth of a second like Bow Dodgebolt) but is proportionally satisfying to use effectively, is meter POSITIVE, and a little tricky since you need to keep track of what skills you have selected but this is seriously a must-have for SA, HH, GL
If your weapon can block, hold R while you redirect and you'll still be blocking even if you mistime it
Wasn’t aware of this, might incorporate it into SnS for style points and because being able to walk while guarding is messing up my buffering for backhops
what is redirection
how does it work exactly
New armor skill from Lunagaron or a lategame lvl3 deco. One point gives you a tiny period of frontal super armor when you skill swap, two converts it into a fully invulnerable dodge when it triggers and refunds like ~10s of wirebug cooldown.
Reverse dash is cool for its high KO if you aim it backwards. It also gives you a blast dash option when using charged shelling.
I had no idea it could KO, neat
Fair point about charged shelling; I honestly just hate using charged shells if it’s not for a stake
It's goofy but you hold the shield up while dashing and it acts as a strong blunt attack. The old days of turning away from the monster are back somewhat.
Lance has figments of that with Sheathing Retreat too, fun stuff
I was thinking of using the reverse dash instead of the party since it still has armor during the startup and it has a fast cooldown instead of a medium so it would cuck you out of BB less
plus the sharpening from the counter doesn't proc protective polish so it's kind of pointless
Guard edge is a very reliable way of maintaining sharpness, I can assure you its not pointless. Both are good, they just do different things.
it's pointless if I'm using polish and it doesn't activate it
but what do I pick if I want to use BB? should I just have it on the other skill set and swap to it when I want to use it?
is BB good to wake a monster with or should I be doing something else?
i love anal scat so much bros
HP rebalance mod when? This is such a slog
>Oh no, Monsters die in 9 minutes instead of 3
Fricking kids these days.
Name one reason why a hunt taking 3 times as long is a good thing
More time actually playing the fricking video game instead of zipping through it in under 20 hours is a pretty good reason.
Hey remember how beating the village quests in 7 hours because all it is are the monsters doing one rotation of their movesets, if you're lucky, and then just falling over dead was fricking awesome and went over really well with everybody? Me neither.
Just download a gacha game or play league of legends, you dumb Black person
Speed is the reward for properly preparing and gearing, maybe trying being less of a homosexual
I accept your concession.
I WANT TO FRICK DAME FIORAYNE
sunbreak has been so fricking disappointing so far, i avoided the leaks of the roster im in mr3 and the only new monsters so far ar ethe fricking crabs?
How many weapons do people tend to specialize and use more than others in these games? I'm currently using SA and SnS. Thinking about starting to use a third one to rotate, but I'm scared of combos and rotations starting to get mixed up.
I've never had any muscle memory overlap between different weapons, they play too differently
I used up to 6 in iceborne, no muscle memory problems, weapons are too different, right now I'm just using my 2 mains lance and SA because frick grinding for stopgap weapons while you go through the main story
I'm with
, that never happens to me. My only problem is forgetting combos entirely cause committing a new weapons moves to muscle memory is a time investment if you aren't playing it constantly.
>be hammer bro
>Monster down, charging up for a bonk
>GS comes over to the head, plops down one of those tiny timer bombs to trigger his counter and sends me flying
GSGOD showing you how to do real damage.
almost as bad as the gunlance fricks that can't stop nuking everyone away from the monster. sad state of affairs when melee chads piss me off more during a hunt than range
gunners are my favourite people to be grouped with in hunts cause frick trying to get to those afflicted shitzones without some pierce god fricking every square inch of the monster simultaneously.
>charging up for a bonk
>not just uncharge hopping in from a mile away for a full power impact crater
Based GSCHAD, that 3K damage is worth more than piddly H*mmer stuns know that everything can KO
How the frick do you play Hammer now
I tried it in the arena and didn't understand the new shit at all
What don't you get?
Water strike is busted goof, an insane parry with no downside
The new spin charge is a straight upgrade that lets you chain level 3 attacks over and over on a stunned monster by switching to red, spin charging to blue, using the blue charge, then switching back to red for another spin until you have impact crater up.
All you do is run around in blue mode fishing for level 3 head bonks or else parries if the monster is too fast for bonks then go apeshit with impact craters and level 3 chained attacks until it gets up.
>Elemental CB sets dont run artillery
Do they not benefit from the skill?
No. Artillery only works on impact phials and GL shelling.
No, just elemental attack
I like Luchika. I bet she's crazy in bed too.
>Sorry bud, the tail was already cut and you looked like you need help cracking the head
What are the best charge blades for each element? Zinogre, Rathalos, Auroracanth?
How is any other lance supposed to compete with the final boss one? What the frick is this weapon balancing
this is the Sunbreak endgame
pictures with your computer friends
>Almudron quest with Rondine
>she places a trap
>disappears
>comes back on a Garangolm
>rides it straight into the trap
if she wasn't cute I would never hunt with her again
It's actually so fun
>Rondine
Holy shit she's unironically so fricking shit, I hate her so much it's unreal.
>Gets chipped a little bit of health
>Chugs potion
>Have to hear her disgusting chugging for the full 5 seconds despite his health being full for a while now.
she's chugging my jizz
I miss the old longsword, and by old longsword i mean gen 2 longsword, the one that had 4 moves total but you could combo freely and the whole selling point of the weapon being fadeslash' hitboxes that were incredibly fun for trying out positioning and being the fastest long melee weapon at the time.
I wish they could just bring it back, something simple without any counters, maybe as a new weapon like a naginata or a pike.
which one is the annoying ammo type online for gunners again? thinking of making one to make grinding the final boss and narwa & friends easier.
i really hate it that you need to get mr4 for the new skills
since there seems to be some SnS chads in here, is there a new bread and butter combo, or is it still Hard Basher? I hope the BnB is sword now so you have that option of HB on shit zones or after a shield bash on the base and sword everywhere else.
sword combos were always stronger, hard basher is just the lazier option
>(and when they are down I want to use Perfect Rush anyways because it’s cool)
Respectable
Is sleep bombing viable in Rise/Sunbreak?
No, monster HP is too bloated now while even LBB+s are still only doing 150 damage, so not viable to do solo runs and not super worth it online. Most people online don't even seem to bother carrying them anymore because 9 times out of 10 someone will keep ungaing and waste the sleep anyway. Like, you can get a nice chunk of 1k damage if everyone sets down bombs, but it's never once happened to me in a random hub.
I just beat gaismagorm, what/when else do I unlock via MR?
Could you break Ceantaur's horn in the older games or am I remembering wrong?
How many KOs should I be getting per hunt as SnS? I usually only manage 2.
Eh, 2-4. It depends on the monster. If they have a low head thats easy to hard bash consistently then you should get more than 2. Some monsters that stand up like Goss can be harder to get more KOs on.
“Should”, not “can”, anon. Element mattering now means forcing more than 2 KOs is a waste
Well yeah, it also depends on how many blunt attacks you're using.
I need to know which voice number is the right one for an "ojou-sama" laught
INSECT GLAIVE GAME CLOSURE
Rise 6/10
Sunbreak 7/10
280 raw with white sharpness or 310 raw with blue sharpness?
Always go for white.
whichever has the comfier sharpness, with preference towards white in the event of a tie since you’ll bounce less
White is worth it to not bounce as often on MR shit
>afflicted tetranadon drops 4 greatbeaks
I think it might've been afflicted by nuclear waste instead of qurio
Qurio are demon bats that literally serve Satan so it checks out
How much do weapons differ between games? If I got gud at a certain weapon in Rise, what are the chances of me being good with it in future games, or going back to World?
Rise teaches bad habits so you actively get worse the longer you play. One of the reasons why I stopped playing it. Frontier is more fun anyway
