>narwa/ibushi
i actually use it on every hunt, even on multi
which pieces?
what do you mean?
He means skyward thrust.
Should I bother going for HR 100, or can I go straight to MR 1 after HR7 ?
HR goes up along with MR, so just go straight to MR until you need to farm for decos
right, thanks anon
Just do Allmother (story relevant) and maybe Apex (not coming back in MR) for fun.
The only thing you miss out is HR Valstrax which is not story relevant and its gear is overpowered, as it is better than most 1-3*MR armor.
are you fricking shitting me?
there's really no new goss harag?
well frick this, I'm waiting for a sale
Yeah but you get a subspecies of bishaten instead!
There’s 4 subspecies, that’s it. A fire element Bishaten, a fire element Almudron, a blast Rakna-Kadaki (that also still uses fire element like the base species), and an ice element Somnacanth (regular Somnacanth already lives in the fricking ice map lmao). In datamines we know that Espinas’ subspecies from Frontier is coming in an update (it’s still fire element like the base species), and Mizutsune will also be getting one in updates (Fire element as well for some reason). Sunbreak’s subspecies are pretty shit. They actually have almost completely different movesets to their base species, but conceptually they’re utter fricking dogshit and a step back from 4U and Iceborne’s subspecies.
Jesus, the game should have been called Firebreak.
>Mizutsune will also be getting one in updates (Fire element as well for some reason)
It's obvious that Mizu's getting something but I've not seen anything to suggest fire element for it.
Calling it now: its element is fire but it doesn't actually breathe fire, it just has scalding water and bubbles that inflict blight
I don't suppose that datamine said anything about a zamitros? I'll admit I totally haven't been paying attention lately
Nah. They don’t add early-mid game monsters in updates anyway, so Zamtrios is a never ever for this game now. It’s annoying as frick that they put the baby and pack versions of a bunch of monsters in the base game without the adult and leader forms, like I get that they needed a small ice monster to fill out Frost Islands in the case of Zamites, but if they weren’t going to add Zamtrios with them then just make a new small monster instead. Really fricking dumb decision, Itchy Nose.
>reuse old babies
>make a completely new -ggi for NO FRICKING REASON
but I love the boggi
Lookit dis dood
I want a great boggi
>Literally no gear from these things whatsoever
>No Great Boggi called Hobboggi
Wasted potential tbfwy
>fire bishaten
>fire almudron
>fire spider
wait a minute... could it be the portable team are fricking hacks?
Itchy Nose did just fricking rehash P3rd but with anime moves and dicky with Rise, the man is so out of ideas that even the G Rank team lose all inspiration trying to expand on his work.
>Step back from iceborne's subspecies
You mean literally Coral Pukei-Pukei, because the rest of them were literally recolors. Dragon odogoron was basically the exact same bar ONE move.
You forgot viper tobi, throwing shit everywhere.
People forget him because Rise gave Tobi all of Viper's combos
Is that why tobi is so much more aggressive and fun in rise? Never played iceborne
Probably. Viper Tobi-Karachi could glide without needing trees and shoot quills from his tail, and both of these were given to regular Tobi in Rise. Regular Tobi in Iceborne also got a new rage state which Rise just made his regular rage state. The only things Rise Tobi didn’t take from Viper Tobi were inflicting poisom with tail attacks and paralysis with bites.
I thought that Acid Glav was good.
you will fight fire almudron and you will like it
Focus doesn't do anything for lance's charged counter right?
Does power prolonger affect the boost from that one wirebug skill?
correct
why would you want it to charge faster anyway? they removed the extra damage (ie the actual charge part of it) on the hit.
The charged counter does do extra damage though, it's lame that a well timed counter still just gets you the weaker poke but eh
Powerguard counter is faster than waiting for the full charge hit regardless
if I disable autosave it lets me reroll talismans? it seems like they're all the same as before though
Why reroll? Just play normally until you get a good one
it stays the same but lets you see what you got so you can decide to arena shuffle them
Savescumming has never done anything for talismans, in past games the order you get shit in was seeded at file creation
Been thinking of trying out Lance. Can I get some pointers on what's the bread and butter combos, skills to look for, switch skills and some good Lances to make?
Bare minimum required: 1 point of guard up, 3 points of guard
Combos:
>triple poke (upward poke does slightly more damage)
>two pokes then charged sweep
>use back hop or regular counter to reset these
Use guard dash to reposition, you can also block through moves with it.
When power guarding, you can change the direction of the thrust upon attacking.
Switch skills:
>Insta-block gives you a powerful cross slash move if you insta-block properly (input an attack after the block). If you insta-block too early then you'll just be sitting there for a few seconds and can't do much (but you'll still block).
>Shield charge allows you to charge through enemy attacks and deal lots of stun damage. You can also end it with a thrust or turn around sweep. Personally I think it's better than the default dash attack.
>Shield tackle lets you constantly block and counter, but it removes the repositioning abilities of guard dash. I don't think it's worth it but you might like it.
Wirebug moves:
>Twin vine gives you bonus guard when attached to a monster. While jumping with twin vine you will block attacks, but if you attack this goes away. You can go into a dash attack/shield charge by pressing block instead (also works with regular wirebug jumps).
>Anchor rage's buff works with other wirebug moves
>Spiral thrust acts as a counter and grants you a buff if done properly (the timing is very short for this). You can change the direction of the second thrust. After dashing twice with spiral thrust, you can either do another big damaging poke or turn around sweep depending on the direction you input the attack.
>Skyward thrust gets more hits in compared to spiral thrust and is better at part breaking. Really good at getting wings. Not much else to say about it.
>Sheathing retreat is a great escape option, but that's it.
The MR kamura lance is pretty solid if you want to use RAW and don't have any other options for the time being.
Thanks bros, greatly appreciated! I'll keep all this in mind, throw something together and get to practicing to drill it into muscle memory.
You don't need constitution, just eat for feline fighter
Noted thanks again!
Leaping thrust is also one of your best damage per sharpness attacks, since the whole attack only counts as once instance of sharpness loss, but deals three instances of damage. If you have a weapon with low sharpness, then Leaping Thrust will give you the most bang for that buck.
Forgot to mention, guard dash and power guard can also go into a leaping thrust which does multiple hits and moves you forward. Great for reposition with a little bonus damage.
Stick to the monster with counters and spam pokes
Powerguard counter (Hold R+B -> A -> B) to pivot or to reset your pokes
Sidehops or guard dashes between combos to reset. Can switch the dash to shield tackle if you prefer attacking fast over flexible positioning.
Guard 3+ and Offensive Guard 3 are mandatory. Sharpness skills probably very much appreciated. Constitution 1-2 is nice to not have your block blown out constantly in fast fights, does more for you than Stamina Surge does.
Personally I don't think offensive guard is mandatory, especially since it's a level three slot (capcom why the frick is it a level 3) and hard to find slots for. If you get it from armor then great, but if not I don't think one should worry about it.
It is a sizable damage boost when you are constantly countering and blocking and is easy to time.
But how am I gonna fit it in?! You don't understand I NEED that level 4 hungerless deco.
Just finish every fight within 5 minutes and you won't have to worry about your stamina going down, it's simple
It's a 15% damage boost for literally just playing the weapon normally, the frick are you talking about
That's why you always use armour that has it instead of relying on decos.
Guild Palace Hat + any Level 3 slot, the frick else are you gonna put in there? It's FREE damage and they made it function correctly on every counter not just Guard Dash so it's basically always up
>and they made it function correctly on every counter
Oh dang I didn't know that, thanks. Time to slot it in.
What armor setups are all you lancers using? Right now I've been rocking the malzeno set for that sweet not-health augment.
I've basically just been forcing myself to use Astalos and Malzeno right now, gemming in the guard and guard up and such. Now idea how helpful Astalos' skill is for me though.

>crit eye 3 charm
Yeah I got lucky with that one, probably will have to sacrifice some other skill or use a weapon with slots to get all those skills otherwise.
MR gives you way more lvl 3 and 4 slots. I start running out of lvl1 slots. The only thing hogging level 3 decos is all weapon now requiring handicraft for comfortable sharpness.
Offensive Guard gives a 15% damage boost, that's way to powerful for a level 2 deco, basically as powerful as wex and you can run offensive guard with any level unlike wex 3
>"oh cool new subspecies for Rise monsters"
>One is okay
>One is more generic than its original version was
>One is so close to its original version that if they didn't look different nobody would be able to tell the difference
>One is Almudron
>They made too many of them fire element
>They left out three other viable Rise monsters for no reason
pain
>Magma Almudron
>they just use Apex’s super attack effect for one of his big moves
Man, that’s just turbo lazy.
So how have you been dealing with the main quests? I put out join requests for monsters I already faced; but any new monster, I solo.
He's going to get a fire variant in the desert. Will have a shotgun in one arm and a lightsaber in the other, I'm sure of it.
I solo key and urgent quests. During the "increase your HR/MR" portion of the game, I join random hunts.
I solo-ed every Monster except Magma-Fish, Ibushi and Narwa.
I just don't like those fights and I wanted them over with.
monsters I like, solo
monsters no one likes like this walking shitzone, online
I'm soloing key and urgent quests and sometimes when it's the first quest for a monster, always go multi when it's something I don't really want to do like hunting 3 monsters for a dango or event stuff
>take my Magnamalo Axe and Partbreaker/Blast setup for first fight against Shagaru Magala because maybe I’ll get lucky and break off a Mantle
>it’s a pretty fun fight. It hits like a truck, but it has fast aggressive tells, none of that delayed hit meme, so the phial counter is easy to pull off
>takes a while though
>find out afterwards that it’s IMMUNE to Blast
Man, this Pokédex sucks.
i did all of sunbreak's progression solo but i've been join-requesting for the afflicted monster farm because shit is cancer
solo except for magmadron and grinding mr with randoms against final boss
Do you think the TU are going to give us a new weapon/armour rarity?
4U had a bunch of weapons that upgraded multiple times while staying at rarity 10
Doesn't really matter since its all arbitrary tiers anyways
That sounds more like unfamiliarity than anything. Stiggy without his old frickass homing dragonballs isn't so bad.
>4U had a bunch of weapons that upgraded multiple times while staying at rarity 10
It also just feels weird to me that LR has 3 tiers, HR has 4 tiers and then MR goes back to having 3 tiers. It's a lot weirder than the 4/4/4 of World.
>That sounds more like unfamiliarity than anything
Maybe. Zin in general has always been one of "those" fights for me. But one thing I definitely DID notice today is that monster in IB do a lot more damage than in SB
Rajangs Banana Slamma in IB can easily one shot you, while it doesn't quite have the same potential in SB
Even getting smacked by Magnamalos dive bomb did only slightly more than half my health, and that's his strongest attack.
Getting clipped by rathians charge in SB will do you 10% of your heath, while it'll do like 33% in IB and put you halfway to a stun.
Like half my carts in IB were because of stuns of some kind, it often felt cheap.
Pretty sure they changed Rajang's big slam so it doesn't disproportionately assfrick blocking weapons anymore. And once you get past Alatreon/Fatalis in Iceborne everything goes back to doing frickall damage just like endgame in Rise.
Combos into stuns are the usual reason for carts in any MH
Was fighting Rajang in IB shortly after you posted this.
He's fricking insane.
I triple carted.
I seriously question how they thought this was ok.
Rajang felt like it was strictly balanced for 200 hp.
I get that people like to argue about weather world or rise is harder, but I went back and played a bit of iceborne after beating satan, and a lot of the late game iceborne monsters are cracked in a bad way, and you don't have the same tools to deal with them as in Rise, not to mention a lot of HP bloat. Stygian Zinogre fricked me in a way nothing in Sunbreak could, took me 40 minutes.
Just killed Gaismagorm and damn, that fight was kino as frick I also got the mantle on my first kill, lmao
>Most new sub-species is fire based
>They make the spider who already breathes fire more on fire
>People defend this decision
What the frick is wrong with you people?
GU Fated Four Apex all either kept their element or shifted to an ailment
That's because Deviants aren't subspecies, they're meant to be straight upgrades
Deviants arent subspecies.
Rise PC
PfXJKPNF7RrFL1ae
7243
Finishing up World, just have to kill Fatalis now.
What weapon should I use in Rise?
Any you like!
Look to your left. The first item you see is now a joke weapon to be added in the next TU.
Doors. The easy route is a lance with a door shield, but I want to see someone swinging around two unframed doors as dual blades.
One of those noodly desk lamps you can bend around
Dual Blades with jigglebone physics
>It’s my cat
So we get Prowler back?
>the rolled up was of tissues I used to wipe up my cum after jerking off to femboy porn with a toothbrush up my ass
What weapon would it be? Hammer maybe? You could mount the crusted up tissues on the toothbrush and smash stuff like that. Should it be water or poison?
>What weapon would it be?
A copy of Melee because you're trying too hard.
>bottle of water
Lbg that can only load water type ammo but has a frickhuge clip for them
PILLOW FIGHT
Why is gore such a jobber in rise? For such a hyped up monster, I though they would spice things up a lot, but he feels like an LR monster with MR stats
They barely changed him
He is a LR monster
Literally the same spot in 4's story as village Magnamalo
because he is.
congrats for being fooled by 4etus. He has a cool design and makes the sky turn dark. He isn't even particularly hard, you just stick to his balls and hope he doesn't do the body slam because, you can't see shit with the camera inside him.
Its another case of babbies first MH. Aside from Apex and random quests, 4U's difficulty is really just wacky 3ds controls.
You ever type one of your posts and pause halfway to think
>man, I sound like a total homosexual
Gore was always garbage. If you stay under him he can't do shit in every game.
He's a baby you sick frick.
Elemental resists feel ridiculously impactful this time
Like I started using the Furious Rajang set on dual blades and now even the final boss' big explosion clap only does like 1/5th of my HP, even the Valstrax armor didn't feel this silly before
>Try MR Rathalos for the first time
>Friend goes in with 3 Fire Res even after me and my other friend point out that it's pretty low
>"Nah don't worry it's fine"
>Less than a minute into the quest he gets incinerated in one hit by the fly-by flamethrower
It's always been strong, it's a 1-1 point to percentage reduction
they dumbed down blights and elements so much in base Rise nobody cared about even slotting stun resistance, other than some still being traumatized over stun in World.
all the good lvl4 skills get in with updates. Same thing with Rise before wex/crit boost decoes. Hopefully we get some better Rampage skills too.
Still pissed, made a new Lance set the other day only to realize that sharpness recovery on blocking is a GS/CB exclusive Rampage deco. Hellion mode got nerfed into oblivion.
Using Kushala Soul and Spiribirds doubled for everything now.
>nobody cared about even slotting stun resistance
What is Rage Slash?
a move that got nerfed shortly after and all speedtrannies went back to Adamant/TCS
good armor sets for CB in sunbreak?
you mean other than this one?
God damn that's sick as frick. How do you unlock it?
arlow follower quests
Do Fiorayne and Arlo's follower quests then you'll get one more from Arlo that gives his armor
Heavy Knight or Bazel if you want full sets
If you have a good charm for any of the obligatory skills you can probably mix and match a bit
>MR Teostra
Stop fricking moving and let me hit you. He is the most-annoying elder in MR by far. Christ.
>He is the most-annoying elder in MR by far
hehehe
Why hasn’t his contemptuous casual slap become a meme yet?
I really want to hate chameleos but the little moron dance he does before some attacks is so charming i just cant.
His blessing also makes poison fricking strong so there is that too.
chameleos is a punching bag barely moves
but his shitzones
Bro your fire weapon?
yeah but chammy's a friend, teo's a b***h
I think maybe Teo has been getting into his wife's pills.
Teostra isn't that bad anymore honestly. His instant acceleration/frick you charge is way less frequent and was by far his worst bullshit.
I'd rather hunt chameleos and teostra in the arena at the same time than hunt one single kushala
Oh whatever shall we do without the “Always Red with Ice Blades Out” Goss subspecies?
>Executioner Goss
>still Ice element
>can inflict bleed and iceblight with melee moves
>fur is spattered with a dark shade of red noting the dried blood of his victims
>expands his ice scythes into a full blown ice axe
Still less lazy than Aurora Sonmacanth
Pay me Capcom
just give him more weapons to recreate. Copying a sword and shield or lance works fine for me, making a glaive and having him wu-kong around if you want to want to change the pacing.
Do it with mid and make him a water element thing if they don't want to keep the ice theme.
What the frick is Capcom's problem with gunlance!? why the hell don't Load Shells and Artillery get lvl 4 decorations!????
I mean i should be used to this shit by now, but i thought we had started to make some progress here.
Is the new Kirby game good? I’ve been wanting to play a new 3D platformer for some reason.
Yeah its pretty good. Surprisingly well done boss fights once you get to the postgame hardmode bullshit versions of them.
Cool!
Not everything had level 4 slots even in IB. Wait for title updates.
>just wait until you've already beaten everything before you can make a MR armor set
I'm about to hit MR4 and i still haven't found anything remotely decent to make armor wise, i thought hell 'll just make Almudron and gem in the GL skills since i can get some use out of it as a SA set too, but then i noticed that despite it having 4 lvl 4 slots there wasn't a good way to gem in the mandatory GL skills without using all the lvl 4 slots for lvl 2 gems.
I hate the skill tax GL has to pay to play this game.
We got 2 different Armors made for Gunlance, Heavy Knight and Bazelgeuse X. That's something.
Seething is next month, those decos will likely be coming with it.
It's not like either one is hard to fricking max anyways.
Level 4 artillery or shells decos will almost certainly be made with Seething Bazel parts.
>go to arena against furious George and choose SnS
>no evade extender
>get shit pushed in
I’ve been coddled by it I think I might need to take it off my actual sets now
Is it too late to get into rise? Would online be dead?
No, it's been out a week, homie.
I mean base rise.
iirc lots of people skipped based Rise and are only getting it with Sunbreak package so you shouldn't have any issues finding hunts. If you do, you can always post a room ITT. Playing solo wouldn't be bad either to learn the fights while you're in LR and HR.
>that one attack that always gets you
What's her name, Ganker? For me it's Diablos' homing head smash.
I can dance around mag, i can dance around ang, i can dance around diablos, i can dance around every single fricking monster people always have problems with, but for some FRICKING reason the one monster apparently everyone and their mother can dance around blindfolded, nargacucka, is just impossible for me. Legit least favorite ever.
Nargacuga *is* easy, you're just not paying attention to crucial details of its design or you've railroaded yourself in frustration into not learning lessons to later apply. Here's a bone - narg's tail slam makes his tail longer. You can't judge its range anatomically.
Magmadron fricking punch, i seen him do a 180° to track me
Run/dodge into him, he always lunges forward to catch you running away
>that one attack that always gets you
Mag's instant grab attack that he can just randomly do after any attack and is impossible to react to. Unironically the most unfair move in the entire game
Barioth's tail swing, motherfricking thing seems to hit me no matter where I'm standing
When Malzeno drags his tail back after a stab I always forget it has a hitbox
currently playing thru HR and there's something about magnamalo's charge he does with his back that always gets me, the timing messes with my head
>giga big mon has tail swipe attack
>the fact that it's giga big means you can only fit one part of it in the camera most of the time
>tail swipe attack is near indiscernible from the mon just turning around when you're trying to cut the tail
i fricking hate kushala, that dive kick that stuns you and sets you up for a second kick into another attack has already 1 shotted me too many times
this is what im talking about
>gets up to roll when the monster starts up the exact same move
you played yourself.
uuuh how much defense do you got
>immediately getting up
Dunno if that's one of them but there are definitely some attacks in the game where you'll stand up afterwards automatically whether you want to or not
That attack just makes you do that
It caught me relying on my "don't move" reflex on occasion
genuine, unironic skill issue
just wirefall bro
its skills are too random, even if you mix them you can get the same skills for your weapon with other sets. No damage boosts and impossible to get in handicraft since all slots are lvl2.
Anyone knows what ibushi soul deco does? In base Rise you got 40% affinity. I bet its 5% per piece now.
>deliberately cutting your iframes as short as possible
Really can't blame the monster for obliging your active, unrelenting desire to die.
>all these shitters exposing themselves for never having fought kushala and saying "just stay on the ground bro"
You literally mashed roll out of your recovery frames moron
>he's still doing it
>He's still bad and mad
If you like it sure. Don't forget to check the store for better bugs as you rank up.
Whats the general logic I should follow when choosing my bug?
There's quite a lot of information being dumped on me at the same time here.
Pick whichever bug looks coolest
Doesn't sound very efficient but okay
Who cares about efficiency before speed running? If you play online you are in for 20 minute fights no matter what you do anyway. Solo choosing an unoptimized bug vs a meta one might save you a minute every five hunts
The bugs are confusing this time cause each category works entirely differently
Speed bugs are 4th gen bugs that only attack in straight lines. The later ones charge up for a piercing hit if you wait a bit instead of mashing. Does a lot of elemental damage, good if you like LARPing as a helicopter or KOing with the blunt speed bugs.
Powder bugs are World bugs that autoattack and leave floating cheeto dust you can explode. The last tier or them lets you suck all the dust in the room together and pretend you're a wizard.
Assist bugs are new and when you have all your buffs they add extra hits to your grounded attacks. They also make keeping your buffs rolling easier.
Thanks, I did enjoy trying to maximise my airtime so I guess thats my answer.
>calling people shitters when you got hit
do some attacks just force you into that sliding animation? I hate it so fricking much just lay down on the ground you moron
>he eats for felyne feet
ngmi
Tigrex double tail swipe
Magnamalos homosexual grab attack and his second hit from the double tail shot attack
Later I found out it's because I'm playing at like 300fps and your framerate is tied to how quickly the monster readjusts to your position for grabs and follow up attacks
I lowered it to 60fps and I never get caught by anything at all now
How do you go from 300 FPS back down to 60 FPS and not vomit?
Lagombi roll or butt smash, my brain is incapable of learning he has followups after going on the ground, it's even worse because since he doesn't do much damage in general I'm more careless when fighting it
Kulus god damn rock when I'm not running minds eye. Always turns to me when I make any attempts on its body, or stuns me with the big slam.
gullfango charge
every single time
The fricking local Wroggis going sicko mode on my ass when the monster goes to sleep so I can't start setting up.
Rathian Tailsweep.
Fricking Jesus no matter how many thousands of her I have hunted that fricking Tailsweep keeps getting me carted.
Diablos's tail after a charge, I always forget it has a hitbox
Anything Aurocanth does. Can't figure this b***h out.
Nargacuga's second tail slam.
I have EE3 and roll at the last second before he does it and I swear I always get hit no matter what. His tracking is too good.
The size of the Nargacuga really makes a difference there
EE doesn't extend your iframes, try evade up.
Narga has sideway tracking for his second tailslam just like Malzeno, so all you have to do is change directions for your second dodge.
afflicted orangaten slam explosion when he lands in a t-pose
barioths tail-slam into tail-sweep
shagarus insta-slam (worst move in the whole series)
nargas new?(never played world and it might just look different than what I remember his old moves to be) follow up tail slam while he runs around
mm delicious burgir
why is the ground texture so much better than the monsters...
The power of Nintendo hardware in 2022.
They’re both 5th gen, anyone arguing otherwise is moronic as Capcom have said as much themselves. Same way 4 and Generations are both 4th gen games.
>They’re both 5th gen
figured because playing rise right now after world+IB and noticing that they are really similar and both different from previous generations, people kept saying that rise was a classic title too which it obviously isn't.
Yeah that was just shitposters or genuine Nintendo fanboys saying that, it’s pretty obviously based on World’s mechanics. Almost like Capcom said they would be the standard going forward, but there’s no arguing with morons I guess.
The only time I've seen Rise mentioned as a "classic" game is in the hunt structure of Village and Hub quests.
i forgot his side
Hi, welcome to McGaron’s, what can I get for you?
Dude . Rude
Where the hell is his Bev???!
>do Tigrex hunt with GS
>not very good at the game, average 10+ minute kills
>take my time getting to him picking up some health birds and even climb a bit to get a new great wirebug spot, not really in a rush
>7 minute kill time
I love how much this weapon bullies him with the double raw parry head break strat.
Scorned Magnamalo is the most fun fight in the game, followed closely by Lunagaron. Some of the most fun and fair while still being challenging monsters since Massacre Demon
Lunagaron is really really easy though.
gunners and LS users don't get opinions
I play Hammer, he’s one of the easiest monsters in the game lol
I play SnS and he was probably one of the most underwhelming fights I've had in MH. Literally Odogaron except without the difficult parts because whenever he rages he becomes slower and weaker for god knows what reason. Unironically can't see how you could have issues with this fight, much less consider it a challenge.
>odagaron
>difficult parts
Lmao
Compared to Lunagaron? Definitely. The backflip and meme jumping around for 10 seconds straight is a pain in the ass when you first have to fight it at rank adequate gear. After you are outside the range of their first introduction nothing is a challenge so that goes without saying.
Lunagaron on the other hand is already a jobbingly easy fight from the get go.
I'm tackling HR advanced quests before I move on to G rank so I have not fought Lunagaron and can not comment on its difficulty, I just needed to leave a comment as Odagaron was one of the easiest fights in world (and that's saying something). Cool design and armor though
You're gonna be mega disappointed when you finally fight lunagaron in your full HR gear and still shit all over him
>Lunagaron
>Challenging
I beg your pardon?
been out of the loop, are world and rise both considered 5th gen monster hunter games?
asking because I remember seeing people disagreeing heavily that they're in the same "generation" of games.
Post >yfw
Giwtwm
>get easy mantle drops off all the shitmons that I don’t care about throughout the story
>can’t get even one from the big Gay
I knew this would happen.
I've been hunting it for straight 3 hours and I have yet to see its mantle, I'm trying to make its HBG and I'm sure it won't live up to the hype.
game has become alot funner after I stopped eating for moxie every hunt
I did too, instead I eat for the regen and have blood rite.
When I fight an afflicted I'm basically immortal.
>A wingclaw from the Archdemon of the Abyss, with no hint of the divine heights it once knew.
What did surface Gaisma look like?
Find out in Title Update 4!
he used to float like narwa before the quiro started growing rocks on top of him
It’s a reference to how Gaismagorm evolved from an elder with actual wings, not that there was a literal flying version
Just look at narwa and ibushi. He's a distant cousin, nice fallen angel reference too.
can't wait for layered weapons to return
install transmog mod
trans? no thank you. ill check it out later
>I can't use the weapon, it has suboptimal stats
hope you die in a fire instead
i can't use a weapon 'cuz its max sharpness is green
this weapon?
https://monsterhunterrise.wiki.fextralife.com/Antique+Machina+HH
egg hammer
wouldn't it be better if they fixed the hammer instead of admitting its trash that nobody wants to use other than layered.
It'd be better if I could use statuses (and create new sets for all the different builds I want to make) while using the pretty weapons I like
no sonic waves, no forge. simple as
Gaisma Lance for that fat purple sharpness
Malzeno chest and Bazel gloves are non-negotiable for me IMO
2 points of Razor Sharp from the Squire legs, Guild Palace hat for Guard up, then whatever waist. I use Gore's for a free point in Coalesence and to finish up Agitator.
I have had shit luck getting any lance specific charms so I just use an Evade Extender 2 + Counterstrike 1 with decent slots.
Frick this was meant as a reply for
I have no idea why people are upset that Rajang has been nerfed from iceborne
Iceborne Rajang is legitimately overtuned.
Horrid monster to fight
Maybe if you are bad at the game
He’s the most fun version of Rajang to fight if you use a fast weapon or GS, but yeah certain weapon matchups against IB Rajang are complete fricking AIDS. I remember trying CB against him on my first attempt, that was miserable.
Naw
Sunbreak Rajang is still fine though they just put less focus on always having your ass clenched to avoid the OHKO banana slamma
I had fun fighting Iceborne Rajang with HH
Rise Rajang is too fair when all the hunters have these crazy wirebugs skills and he's just sitting there waiting to be countered or dodged
Yeah, even Furious is legit easier than mid tier monsters like Gore.
>MR Kushala
no
no how is any part of this okay?
Why the frick does he have a bunch of new attacks that gives him a million miles of distance from you with tornadoes and wind balls everywhere?
What is even the strategy here?
>million miles of distance
bro your bugs?
Ah yes, wire-dashing through six tornadoes is also my idea of fun.
Maybe I should try duals. Shrouded Vault is too good.
Imagine not playing Lance
I've used lance in Tri, P3rd, 3U, 4U, Gen and World and I couldn't play Rise lance at all. It felt awkward and awful. Is it actually fun again in Sunbreak? CB feels good again, so maybe lance is nice once more?
Lance got megabuffed in SB, you don't have to spam spiral thrust to even be relevant anymore, you can play classic lance with new moves as well and be competitive
Plays basically like Iceborne lance but with real damage now, you don't have to crutch on Spiral Thrust's jank ass anymore
Coincidentally the damage buffs Lance got are exactly in line with the extra raw it had on endgame weapons in IB
>you can play classic lance
Welp, onto the pile of 'shit I want to play around with' it goes. At least there's half a million quests to do.
The lance swipe is cancer and I hate it.
Powerguard thrust does nearly as much damage and won't hit a monster's rock hard wiener five feet off the right of your screen
Lance is good then?
Last I checked on it, people were pissed about it's switch skills before release
The new shit is lame but you don't even need to bother with wirebugs except for Anchor Rage for the most part
Instant Block has no downsides over the normal guard anymore besides some added input clunk if you aren't careful and the counter hits like a train
Because people didn't know about the buffs it would get from sunbreak at that point, but now it's good again.
Exaggerated complaints, motion values are good now and the aerial move is really good against certain matchups. There are still some monsters I don't like fighting with a lance but for the most part it is fine.
>they just straight up gave him ice beam attacks
Devs basically admitting that Velkhana is superior. Stop trying to make Kushala the ice elder dragon, it’s not going to happen. His thing was always wind, his weapons were just ice element because wind element isn’t a thing and they needed an endgame ice element weapon tree in Dos.
I miss Velkhana, AT Velk was my favorite fight in IB.
I hated AT velk but it was ludo
I hope Velkhana becomes a staple in future games, he’s actually a fun fight (albeit pretty easy once you become accustomed to the patterns his ice summoning attacks use, before that he feels random as frick) and fights pretty differently to most other Elder Dragons. Malzeno has similar tail attacks but Velkhana mixes up melee, ranged and AoE attacks in a surprisingly cohesive and cool way. Come to think of it, the G Rank elder dragon flagships have been great these past few games; Valstrax, Velkhana and Malzeno all frick really hard.
I hope they bring back more the more modern Elder Dragons like Velkhana, Shagaru or Malzeno instead of Kushala for the 100th time
Chameleos can stay
Chameleos doesn’t reappear as often as the other two do at least. IIRC he wasn’t in base 4, only 4U, and he never showed up in World/Iceborne. He’s also never gotten any upgraded forms, even in Frontier. He’s just a friendly little fella who hasn’t done anything wrong unlike the other two Dos elder losers (and Lunastra but she doesn’t count, the devs only like Teostra). I love Cummy!
What if they bring in rusty kush as a TU just for you or even... LUNASTRA
Velkhana, Vaal Hazak and Namielle would make a neat alternative trio
They really could have a nice ED roster without using those two (or their clones).
>Shag
>Black
>Velkhana
>Malzeno
Don't need any more Elder Dragons tbh.
Also Val Hazak and The Jet.
What I really want is for them to have the four X monsters in a single game again.
We aren't getting Gammoth until they realize they can just pull the camera back for it like they did for Kulve/Safi
I wish they dragged the FOV out for Gaismagorm holy shit
I just want Gammoth with a major revamp.
I feel like Kush and Teo deserve to take a vacation for the next generation, I'm getting sick of seeing both of those c**ts at endgame
Even without knowing the order of monsters incoming and keeping entirely "spoiler" free on Rise, I could FEEL when Kushala was coming. My immediate reaction after it was, "So next one is going to be Teostra isn't it". Lo and behold, predictable as frick.
>Been making every SA as a goal while I grind MR
>Teostra Hardhorn, Teostra Hardhorn everywhere
You pretty much can only get 1 a hunt, and sometime you'll still get scammed out of the 80%
Getting sick of that firecat
>making hammers
>need tails
this is some bullshit
I just started sunbreak, about to start MR2. Im still using the nargacuga swaxe, when should i upgrade to something new?
Immediately. The Ore and Kamura ones are pretty good and Rampage Decos (especially the one against wyverns) really makes them worth using even early on.
there has to be some memeset that makes stormsoul good, i feel like it SHOULD be good, but i haven't seen anyone talking about it yet
full narbushi is good for cb
you can do some meme qol shit set using 4 pieces of narbushi + 1 different armor piece that still gets boosted by Stormsoul 4
Full Ibushi with Narwa gem in your weapon isn't terrible on weapons like IG that don't really need anything specific
It's got enough slots for Weakness Exploit and your charm can cover another attack skill
It's been so long since I've been this obsessed with a mh title. Not since XX. Sunbreak is so good bros...
kneel
Is it the best?
dunno lol but it has great sharpness, damage and a level 3 deco for the block -> sharpness recovery skill
>block -> sharpness recovery skill
What skill is that?
It's a rampage deco.
Its a rampage decoration for SA and CB only
Does SA block now?
He meant GS
>best CB
>worst Gaismagorm design
such is life
>CB design
>is generic as shit because the nature of the animations requires heavy standardization
alas
*raffs*
Any fellow guard HBG mains out here? It's so fricked when you can facetank malzeno and endgame afflicted flashy moves then go right back to shooting them in the face with spread.
Fought him a few hours ago. I wasn't impressed.
where are you supposed to put somones 6 digit lobby code when the game wants a 16 digit code?
that's a switch code
your friend has a switch
oooh right I thought they were cross platform.
>started sunbreak with HH, bashing in monsters head and buffing myself as well as party
>Reverted to gunner late game to more effectively DPS
It's happened to me every mh since 4 (imported), I main a blade master weapon first half of game then rely on gunner to contribute more but check Ganker and discord more while doing so.
Why am I so ADHD
>Try out that malzeno chest with mix of narwa/ibushi set on GL
>Not nearly as comfy as I figured it would be
>last two gunlances in the game aren't even level 8 shelling
>the fricking subspecies of the base game flagship and the flagship of the expansion
WHAT WAS CAPCOM THINKING
I don't even notice the difference bwteen 7 and 8 tbh, I just keep using malzeno GL because it looks fricking sick
Insult to injury with Malzeno's is that the rampage deco slot is fricking level 1. Great, sometimes doubled spiritbirds...
Difference between lv7 and lv8 shelling is about 8% at most.
It does not matter. Malzeno is the most aesthetic weapon in the game with good raw and good purple. That matters much more than a piddly 150 damage on BB.
I only really use it for accessing a different silkbind
Malzeno GL isn't as aesthetic as antique machina
Nah.
Worst fricking skill in the game.
Anyone else barely using the switch skill changing?
I use HH Lance and HBG and none of them have the greatest on the fly switch skills moreso specific play styles.
It definitely feels like some weapons are meant to switch more than others.
I can go an entire fight without switching as hammer but I change pretty consistently with SnS
Switching to spiral for lance is ok in multiplayer where you have to chase after a charging monster a lot
I have an evade extender charm right now just for the slots so on Lance I can cover a ton of ground at no stamina cost with Switch Evade -> Spiral Thrust -> Switch Evade
It's good for charging monsters or playing with Gunners
I like switching with Hammer
>dash charge
>or dash and hold charge
>get buff with anchor rage
>swap skills so I can use skyward thrust with the buff
>use sheathing retreat if things get spicy, swap skills again and I have anchor rage ready to restart the buff
I use it a ton on GL, but not that much on IG.
The extra large evade option after the switch on GL is every nice, and I think you can do it to bypass some of the endlag on a few attacks too.
I use with DB to change between the demon modes and to switch between flurry rush and flight
While this thread was going
I triple carted to a Rajang quest in IB
with DB
two times
I play lance with shield bash and it's fricking great, you can be super aggressive because it's a guard point that you can insert at any point in your combo that deals respectable damage and KO while costing 0 sharpness. You literally just swap your evade after your third thrust for a shield bash and stay glued to the monster the whole hunt.

Best Followers?
>They don’t add early-mid game monsters in updates anyway
>crabs
crabs didn't come in a title update
Updates, not expansions.
Updates bro. As in the title updates. Everything new we're going to get has to be at minimum elder dragon tier and more likely higher.
Metawise, it's gonna be Hinoa LBG, Luchika HBG, HH users since followers don't do that much personal damage and you'd want support effects on them
That said, I'm not actually 100% sure on this, but it feels like followers still do full partbreaking damage, I've had followers basically solo cut tails before even though we know they have shitty numbers.
What switch skills do you use with CB?
i dont care about other counters i just want to redirect
bro, charged shelling is dead as frick and not worth doing over regular shelling
what the best shell type then? normal?
normal for BB or FB spam, wide for shell/EC spam
It's still Long. Beats Normal on everything shelling related except full burst and bullet barrage.
What's the best long GL?
The only long8 GL is the canine one. But if you're fine with losing out on shelling damage you can go with a bunch of long7s out there.
It's also shit because sliver of puple, low raw, no good slots.
Are you wanting to go slap lance full burst? Those are the only things your raw and sharpness matter on.
I'm wanting to use the entire weapon, a concept nobody seems to understand is the actual best way to play.
You don't ignore shelling, you don't ignore the lance.
Good luck finding a GL with level 8 shelling, tons of purple sharpness, good raw and good slots then. You're going to fall short on one or two of those areas every time.
The hell does GL even need slots for
Just wear Arlo's shit
Arlo's shit is just worse outright than Bazel's shit who has more slots for comfy skills.
Man, good thing the difference between lv7 and lv8 shelling is negligable, huh?
Lucent GL will probably be lv7 if not lv8 to get appeal to go for.
Seething is guaranteed to be lv8 and likely have a unique skill slapped in to appeal to GL and CB players.
And of course, two more TUs at minimum to provide more.
if 7-8% is negligible, how negligible do you rank purple sharpness which is only 7% over white, or extra slots which may amount to even less of a DPS gain?
>7-8%
>only
that's a lot in the monster hunter world. Thats about the equivalent of ATK+6
also sharpness has a elemental multiplier
and reduces risk of bouncing
It's the quickest way to land a Wyrmstake. A single charged shell goes directly into it. The animation for the Wyrmstake itself in this way is a lot faster than doing it through shell+shell+wyrmstake.
bro your eruption cannon?
That's on every skill setup that doesn't have charged shelling. Eruption Cannon is so much easier to land than Wyrmstake it's unreal.
>Using Wyrmstake is sunbreak
No, long does more bb damage than normal does.
Wyrmstake on a setup with Bullet Barrage is technically a dps improvement over using Eruption Cannon with it.
That is the only time I have wyrmstake set up, to spam BB. I would never EVER manually use it.
Which is the only time to use it and you should have a scroll set with GS and EC that you mainly sit on.
bro your sharpness?
>still the hardest fight in the game
I kneel Queen
How do morons still cart to that move
Literally just sprint in
i dont understand how narwha is controlling the dragonators
Magnets
Fricking magnets
Why does not-Coral Highlands have like 20 dragonators though
IIRC she uses electromagnetism to float, so manipulating magnetic objects isn’t too far out of the realm of possibility. She probably doesn’t actively know what she’s doing with them, just that if she magnetise them they go off, so she uses that to defend her nest.
>People who can't do it don't Farcaster or just let their body get dragged into the middle after getting hit once.
Designated solo only fight
I like how getting knocked down is literally the best way to avoid getting hit (again). Spastic wirefall users get btfoe'd.
You can also just teleport back to camp if you piss your pants over that attack.
Just dash into the middle you morons, There is a huge opening every 3rd overlap.
Ahtal Ka did it better
Do you own monster hunter merchandise (amiibos don’t count)
I have a Zinogre dragon dildo and a Mizutsune pocket cloaca 🙂
I got a kutku shell for my n3DS
Almost bought that gigantic Fatalis figure but I heard it had quality control issues so I held off
I only have the little electronic BBQ spit and this.
>I only have the little electronic BBQ spit
where can I buy that...
Ebay? It's actually a kitchen timer
im trying to get my hands on one of these, but i can't find any in stock
I have Chameleos and Yian Garuga figures
i got a little brachydios statue as a gift from some friends a couple of years back but that's it
where the FRICK is brachydios
>where the FRICK is brachydios
Replaced by monke
A Gravios plush, a number of artbooks and Kut-Ku and Poogie new 3DS faceplates.
I've got a Monster Arts Zinogre and a revoltech rathalos.
I fricking love the Zinogre, but world's design can frick right off, a model of 4U/Gen would be pure bliss and I'd order it in a heartbeat
I have a bunch of Monster Hunter plushies, and a Rathalos and Rathian tail plush.
I have this shirt but it's black with the design in red. Love shirts without any text on them.
And Jho and Teostra
Sexy armpit
What are the useful wirebug skills for Charge blade?
just use what you like, almost all of them are good and have their own niche
Load up + axe hopper SAED spam is braindead easy
i prefer regular almudron to tacobellmudron because the big poop sack isn't a huge shitzone on tacobellmudron
Hopefully every monster gets an afflicted version
>afflicted kushala daora
4* Afflicteds already barely got sped up
I think afflicted Elders would overall be easier besides an increased HP pool, Bloodblight fits my full moron aggressive playstyle perfectly
I like the higher tier afflicted only because you actually have a chance to break all their parts now before they die. Breaking even half of Valstrax parts is basically impossible ATM. I hope afflicted valstrax fixes that.
Everything from M1 to M3 already has one spread across A1 to A4, so I think M4 and M5 monsters at least will get them spread across A5 to A7. Whether they bother with M6 monsters in a hypothetical A8 or beyond, I don’t know.
Why does the least played weapon always have the most Ganker discussion?
Isn't that HBG these days? The lances and HH got more popular recently.
People don't play HBG?
Fricking love me a good Spread HBG with power barrel
I assumed it was quite popular
I wish bowguns weren't so boring for the damage they output, the older games balanced them by making mat gathering a pain for anyone but end game hunters and requiring combo books in inventory, but with all the "qol" updates lbg and hbg feel like the designated option for people who want to be playing a different game
It's not resource management being a non-issue that makes gunning a little dull now, it's that the gameplay has turned into a straight up third person shooter. Recoil and reload speed where much bigger factors in old bowgun gameplay since you couldn't move while firing or reloading, being greedy had a lot more risk.
I've been playing guns since FU but it's totally a different game now. At least collecting guns and rotating between them depending on the match-up is still fun.
Most anons are contrarians at heart or else they'd be on normalgay forums
people never fricking talked about hunting horn
lance has always had a good amount of discussion though.
>do the Unbridled Mayhem quest
>only cart to Tigrex twice of all the monsters
I love this moronic bastard.
why did armor fashion go to shit with Rise?
It didn't?
The amount of MR armor sets that are just trenchcoats should be illegal.
You think Kulve will ever return?
In an anniversary game like Generations, maybe.
As a normal fight sure, she's in basically the same category as Akantor and Gog once you strip away the siege shit.
Zorah will 100% never return without basically being a new monster
>the MH team will place a Zorah skull in at least one map each gen, just to remind everyone that it's fricking dead and NEVER coming back
I wish Lao would stay gone too but nostalgia milking dictates that he'll come back every once in a while
Good way to still let you make his cool looking armour though, since you get MR Zorah materials from mining his corpse.
I wouldn’t mind them reusing Zorah as an arena for smaller monsters (fighting Nergigante on Zorah’s back while the arena shifts 90° vertically was awesome) but the actual “fight” can stay dead. Just give Zorah mats as quest rewards after you beat another monster on his back, it can be an arena variant of sorts.
Female armor has always been bad
Play a man next time
Yeah I'm still using the same layered armour I was in HR since literally nothing in MR looks appealing enough to use over what I currently have. I think males are much better off since they actually get a lot of cool new shit but the female shit is garbage. The only good new piece of layered armour that I like is the Tetranadon head cause I like the eye covering hair and scarf.
orange pantsu demon
It's mostly because the female model is ugly as shit. Alot of the armor just looks like shit on them.
Check out that old Sailor Uniform in Sunbreak to it's original game. Terrible.
>want guild palace shit
>not good enough at arena quests to get it
Spend 5 minutes learning Courage Hammer on the dummy and you can shit on at least 1 of the fights you need to do for Guild Palace
he deserves a hammer variant
He can already make ice clubs instead of ice swords
>MR Ibushi and Narwa armor look worse than their HR armor
>MR narg armor is just the HR one with a different helmet
LR/HR and G-rank Narga armour has always been the same. In Sunbreak they just opted to use the gunner helmet. God I miss gunner armour designs.
lesson for Ganker
What's a good set for SnS? I haven't played it since 3U and I have no idea what skills are good for it
>do teostra 4 target gauntlet
>die to his giga fire breath at the 29th minute
>kill his ass on the 30th
>quest clear animation and my guy just goes "ugh"
kek
I bought the game yesterday, went in and killed a chicken holding a rock with a insect flying stick.
Is this a good weapon to use?
SnS now has the ability to sprint with its weapon out in mh6 how major or minor is this
SNS sheathing is basically instant anyways
What does your build look like GSchad?
>Well, the title updates will have more GL sets that are better than Bazelgeuse so I won't wear this forever
>Seething Bazelgeuse
>Sunbreak's subspecies aren't filler for once and actually fight completely differently from their original counterparts with very few shared moves, even having their own wyvern ride attacks. They practically feel like new monsters rather than a recolour with one new attack.
>People hand wave this and seethe over 3/4 being fire themed
Maybe they handwave it because it's not fricking true. BOB is the only decent change from their original design.
It’s disappointing because Iceborne subspecies had cool concepts and changed maybe half of the monsters’ movesets (except in Ebony Odogaron’s case, it was the same shit basically), then in Sunbreak they go all out and completely change their movesets but the concepts for these subspecies are boring and suck ass. It just feels like wasted potential.
maybe it's because I fought it twice at best but besides of the sleep I don't remember paolumu and nightshade having anything different. maybe
Nightshade could do Paolumu's big deflating balloon spergout anywhere, Paolumu only did it in its Coral Highlands nest.
>Give the subs completely unique movesets
>All of them but B.O.B. manage to either feel less interesting than the original, basically the same as the original, or just suck in general
More Yian Garuga when?
god damn rise g rank rajang fricking sucks, what a slog of a fight
why is the shirt in azure layered armor so short?
>Wear Owl head with Diablos chest
>Can't stop laughing every time I notice my hunter
mmm tummy
>blue and white stripes
extremely unflattering panties
>look at a speed kill video randomly on youtube
>fem hunter wearing this 75% of the time
I don't expect nor want silkbind moves to carry over to MH6, but I'll be horribly disappointed if the non-silkbind switch skills aren't kept.
I like switch skills as an idea but if they come back they need to be better balanced, in most scenarios one is just outright better than another.
Same shit has happened every time we've gotten moveset options
Some weapons probably have room for things to be implemented on another button press though, if they don't add another L button gimmick you could just throw shit like Shield Tackle or Surge Slash combo on there.
Too bad, you will get wyrmstake and only wyrmstake
I like the wirebug mechanic for movement.
Just give me a grappling hook instead
Wirebug is a functional grappling hook. Do you just want a brown wirebug?
Not him but yes, the bugs are thematic to Kamura and Rise, literally just reskin it into a grappling hook instead of a bug.
didn't world have wirebugs too at fixed points or am I stoned
Latchbeetles you could grapple to in certain spots yeah
Mostly just made the forest and coral highlands faster to get around.
At the very least, SA had better keep forward overhead slash and the 2-stage morph sweep, they're both so much better than the old moves.
Controllers need a redesign so we don't have to awkwardly swap move sets midhunt. I want access to ALL my moves.
There's no good reason for RB/R1 to be a second sheath button by default, could be used for more moves alongside RT
Y should become an attack button before R1, I'm too used to that being sheathe and sprint.
Naw if you use both R buttons (or L when wirebugs go away) as modifiers you get more extra inputs available
Hammer chads, whats the 411 on the new skill?
>do the tigrex, gore, astalos and magnamalo alone
how are you supposed to properly do this? it was a complete clusterfrick and I'm surprised I didn't die
you just get your hits in where you can and enjoy the clusterfrick
They have reduced HP and monsters still hurt each other on regular attacks
>monsters still hurt each other on regular attacks
I remember when they didn't. Old arena quests used to be such cancer, holy shit.
When did that start? I know in 4th gen on the Caravaneer's Challenge you could just let Rajang beat Zinogre to death in like 10 minutes then fight them normally
I should clarify. They always hurt each other, but they did Hunter levels of damage. That is, damage according to your max of 150 HP, while the monsters had thousands.
So it's not unreasonable that Rajang could kill a Zinogre like that, but it still took forever, and you had to get lucky because they would rarely focus on one another. Wasn't that a village quest as well? I had the Event Quest for Azure armor in mind, with the Seregios and Zinogre, who might have been Frenzied or Apex, I forget. That shit sucked.
Oh yeah okay so it's always been that way
Still strong on fast attacking monsters before World but 5th gen finally upped it a bit
I know in 3U's final village quest before alatreon's it was a pretty common tactic to let brachy's explosions deal with azurelos instead of trying to fight both of them
MH6 should do a soft reboot, drop half of the weapons and rework them from the ground. We are at the point where old attacks just get replaced by new better ones, but for some reason they stay as legacy.
Don't even remember if that Hammer side slash or GS backward slash was ever useful.
>how do you do it?
>somehow did it
old mons had like 6000hp, you used utility like flashes, smokes, sleep
Old arenas where fun, especially since its the only thing remotely challenging in MP, now you even get a wall to separate them.
Those quests were optional so don't cry
>Hammer side slash
Faster than doing your first bonk on the way to a golfswing but obviously less damage
>GS backward slash
Tail cutting
>faster than first bonk
isn't that something they only added in 4? In World golf swing indirectly got nerfed, but it side bonk got worked into big bang. In Rise it just got replaced by water strike.
>Tail cutting
I know people say this but the normal charge slash already a very high vertical reach. I can imagine it to be useful, but those are some very rare edge cases.
I don't remember when it was added but Slap -> Bonk -> Golfswing is still a thing even after the big bang got added, not a ton of reason to do it now though since you have better options for a KO than just going for 2 golfswings
>Those quests were optional so don't cry
No.
One day, we'll get a MH game with no filler. No silly arena quests where you run around like a dummy, no gathering quests where you run around like a dummy. No Event Quests with dumb rewards for the sole purpose of looking like a dummy as you run around.
I refuse to stand for it.
>Old arenas where fun, especially since its the only thing remotely challenging in MP
Yeah, man. It sure was challenging not having to chase shit around and getting free items all over the place. Arenas always sucked.
wtf are you even talking about?
>join a SOS to finish a quest quickly before I leave
>2 pierce bowguns and a long sword
This is aids.
>joining randos without Flinch Free
>There's literally no post game after reaching MR 100
That's pretty disappointing. That and the shitty talisman's. Played and beat ALL of the quests at least one with the same R7 Talisman I got back in base rise.
You can tell with the afflicted monsters ending at mid tier monsters that they're holding the actual end game hostage in the title updates.
I've gotten some cracked out talismans for everything except the weapon I've played the most in Sunbreak of course
EE 3, Rapid Morph 2, 3-2-0 slot let me make a fricking moronic Switch Axe set
News flash, this is a series about hunting monsters and making gear, not about gacha systems. Go play genshit.
what are you talking about you spastic moron
The post game is hunting monsters you barely sentient euroslime homosexual.
shut up you moronic Black person
Bold of you to call anyone else moronic when you can't play the game without someone jingling a set of shiny things in front of your mangled face.
says the crapcom sycophant
Capcum is dogshit what are you talking about, fricking hell you're an inbred moron
When you pulled in here did you notice the sign on the game that said GachaBlack person Hunter?
>talisman grinding
>grinding monsters for 1% drops
>not gachashit
You're trying to hard larper.
>this is a series about hunting monsters and making gear
then why do they not give you new gear for the hardest monsters?
What kind of endgame are you looking for?
I already got 100 hours in on Sunbreak alone so that's pretty good, still want to play much more cause I am missing tons of stuff and still need to complete many quests.
why are you spamming the forward shield tackle?
Not even that anon but you can tell he's using it to reposition. What's hard to get? He doesn't want to drift off.
??? reposition for what exactly? he was in a perfect position to do 3 pokes or a charged slap or whatever he wanted
Man wants to keep himself centred. It's not hard to understand anon.
guess losing out on free damage is just too high iq for me.
You might not be dumb, but you're definitely autistic.
Insect Glaive bros.
How do you play? I've been trying the new air dash attack but holy frick it's hard to play managing both aim modes in case I miss a reposition and doing a Diving Wyvern at the end.
But so satisfying to successfully do it.
Spam tetraseal slash
simple as
AA, recall cancel, repeat. Maybe an XA if I'm feeling spicy.
>50 sub quests
>The reward is some garbage weapon upgrade that's absolutely bottom tier in weapons or some useless armor that's also bottom tier nobody will ever use
>He doesn't know
Gunlance!
Fun!
>Still can't find a substitute for Nargacuga armor or weapon
I fricking can't, evasion and crits are just too goddamn fun
Any rooms up?
>talisman meld
>"What kind of skill you want bro"
>This please
>Ok put in ingredients
>Ok here's your talismans bro
>[Completely unrelated random skills not at all what you chose]
Epic. Epic for the win.
>He hasn't beaten MR
They remove that from the melding bro
I wish we could still pick a skill, spiritbird looks fun
>I wish we could still pick a skill, spiritbird looks fun
I am still mad that that skill isn't a deco. If I get a decent talisman with it on then I'm never replacing it.
I don't understand why they implemented a system like this for the bottom tier charms and then made the good shit pure RNG
They're likely saving it for a title update so his gear is worthwhile because he's clearly THE fan favorite new monster
thank god all the gen and gen ultimate directors are being fired from capcom
>If you skip the credits, you also skip the scene after credits with Fio
AAAAAIIIEEEE FRICK YOU
>trying to join anomaly quest
>get to the loading screen and it's says the quest already ended
>have to go and eat again
>it keeps doing it and I have to keep eating again
I fricking hate the fricking Switch so goddamn much and it's network adapter or whatever that it is that is the fricking equivalent to a fricking blackberry from the mid-2000s
That's not a Switch specific issue though
Where I currently play my games no other system has wifi issues like the Switch. My laptop, phone, PS5 are all fine but only that one has issues.
>That final boss fight
Great mother of... damn
i personally enjoyed magnamalo being a bro and helping you out against allmother narwa more
Out of all the new monsters to come out of Rise, is Goss Harag by far the most liked one?
I also assume Garangolm is the most liked new monster in Sunbreak as well?
>Goss Harag
Almost certainly. I'd assume only Magnamalo or Tetranadon come close.
>Garangolm
lol
lmao, even
>Lunagaron and Malzeno
>Better than Garangolm
Lies
Malzeno > Garangolm > Lunagaron
I'm not saying that he's worse than Malzeno and Lunagaron.
I'm saying that, 100%, he's less popular than them.
Garangolm is kind of a nothing monster, I'd be surprised if he was popular
Who gives a frick about Garangolm
Garangolm's only kept afloat by monke memes, seems like malzeno's pretty comfortably (and deservedly) the most popular
if I don't have 100% crit is it still worth gemming in a half-assed wex and cb over attack boost
WEX is almost always the most power you can get for the point investment
>Speedrun rise to get to sunbreak in time
>Nice, i'm starting sunbreak now so let's start to get some nice trinket
>I spend a lot of ressource on shit trinket
>With sunbreak there is now rank 9 & 10
FRICK
same
I dumped all my melding liquids a few quests before unlocking the most advanced pot like a moron
Why do gunlances have infinite ammo? Where do the shells come from?
Bio energy
The pure, unadulterated passion for blowing things up.
Anger
Does anyone know how much ammo gets refilled by triggering "Bladescale Hone" skill ?
It only says what's the chance and that it refills ammo but no fricking info on how many bullets it actually refills.
Just equip a point and try it on the training dummy
He just wanted some sun after being kicked into the cuck shed for 50 years
and you killed him
>the boy knits you a cravat made out of weird leech bats
>and ya kill 'im
Is it true that Erupting Cannon with Guard reload is the way to go if i want to use Wide shell GLs?
is it because you get a instant KO explosion instead of waiting for with with the wyrmstake?
I've been testing it with my cornpopper GL and I just want to make sure I get it right
I think Caoslayer just made a video about best combos so I think you should watch that
Erupting cannon can be comboed into a lot of attacks and increases the damage of melee attacks, which should be half of your attacks (shell, poke, repeat).
You can spam shells quickly compared to the wyrmstake since the animation lock is really small, and of course it's safer
GET SPIRITBIRDS YOU FRICKING MONGOLOIDS I JUST FAILED A QUEST BECAUSE OF moronS NOT GETTING FRICKING SPIRITBIRDS AND GETTING FRICKING ONE SHOT
No, use more lifepowders
Some quests simply can't be ran online anon.
If they're getting one shot it's because their armour is shit
