Tri bowguns were mix and match parts, overall weight changed the behavior
Medium category was slower movement and you couldn't equip the shield like HBG but you kept a decent roll.
On the subject of bowguns I hope they bring crouching fire back as a default
I expect it to be infested with Denuvo again so it's a no-buy for me (much like with World, despite having friends that own it) since I refuse to taint my PC with that cancer.
>Hopes
Please don't get even more dumbed down >Thoughts
What's there to think? There wasn't any real gameplay, and the prerendered trailer was a hunter riding a mount that could glide. I guess it's just an upgrade of the palamute. >Expectations
It's going to be more dumbed down >monsters and weapons do you want back
Has MH ever removed weapons? Not counting the light/medium/heavy bowgun system. If you mean mechanics, I sure as shit don't want the clutch claw back. Wirebugs are okay I guess, but I don't care much for mounting. It would be neat to see the tonfas or magnet spike though.
All monsters (except fatalis) gained a new droll stagger that you can't turn off for free damage.
You can turn off the wirebig riding and attacking the monster makes the riding state end faster.
Therefore the bugs are less intrusive than the claw and better.
I wish the music was more flavorful with wacky exotic caveman instruments like in the old games rather than the plain jane orchestra shit from world . My only complaint.
>Hopes
No shitty combat gimmick.
New skeletons.
Failing that bring back the insectoid ones so we can have seltas queen and more like it.
One new weapon at least.
Switch skill like system.
Negative armour points.
No Bone/Iron reskins. >Thoughts
Not a huge open world fan but I just hope the game remains hunting focused. No scout flies or anything similar, I rather just go back to paintballs and psycoserum if I have to just follow some BS to get to the monster. >Expectations
Elder dragon flagship.
Get used to it homosexual, MH ran with the 2005 graphics until literally 2018. They weren't kidding when they said World was hte new basis for them to use for the next decade or so.
jesus, what happened to monster hunter's players that they're braying about graphics? this franchise specifically avoided the playstation vita because it represented a graphical leap they didn't want to take just yet. they went to the fricking 3DS so they could keep using PSP and PS2 era graphics. what is wrong with you?
PS Vita was a flop and 3d was one of the best selling portables ever. They chose to not upgrade graphics to release on 3d because it was the most sane choice to make.
That was all undecided when MonHun passed over the Playstation console. It was Frontier or some other "side-game" bullshit that Vita got while 3DS got the mainline entries, so early adopter Vitas were promised a game that Capcom had no actual intention (stated or otherwise) of making.
It's what being a seething sonygay does to a mf, the only issue with the new game so far is everything looking blurry as shit on the trailer but at least the colors/overall style is nothing like Rise or World
I finally unlocked the special investigations, but the monsters seem identical except they have 50% more health, which is super duper not a fricking issue at all. Was I japed? I thought they were going to be harder.
3U's endgame is really cool. The G-rank quests cycle, so you never know what you're going to get. DO NOT HUNT THE HADES OR CLASHING FISTS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

With the mount looking like more expanded on than the palamute, what if they are toying with mounted combat? The mount might be the big gimmick of this game, since the first past first reveal trailers usually reveal a big part of it. >Moveset while riding that differs from on-foot. >Some monsters may have to be pursued while riding. Hell they may add some cowboy shenanigans and make you lasso them or deploy tools to to slow them down. >The herds of monsters (especially the bigger one that were aggressive) may make riding a necessity to navigate). >Weather effects may make riding more necessary to avoid them during hunts. >They have shown the mount can scale the environment and fly... but can it... swim?
Also, I feel a little cheated that they didn't highlight a new large monster as much. I know there's the one that got affected by lightning but it didn't get much of a spotlight.
Mounted lance would be a natural fit. Making mounted movesets could also work for an alternate method of deep water combat as opposed to swimming/diving from 3. You could have an aquatic mount instead.
I doubt they'd make fully mounted combat possible, seems like a huge hassle and with some weapons like dualblades it'd be really silly.
But some kind of chase while riding mechanic could be really cool.
I do hope Rise switch skills come back, I like being able to customize certain moves on weapons. Forward overhead slash on SA is just too good and it's hard going back to the thrust. I hope they keep a lot of the weapon changes from Rise actually. Being able to go directly into morph slashes with SA and use them to change attack direction after rolling makes the weapon flow extremely well and play more aggressively than ever.
>World introduces unskippable cinematic cutscenes, the most unforgivably dogshit weapon design, and MMO-style Dailies, and they celebrate all of it >Wilds will introduce open world slop mechanics and fix nothing World ruined, and they will celebrate it again
Worldfetuses are literally the worst
I've never skipped a cutscene even when given the option,
had more than enough fun with my Lance in World,
and I didn't even know World had dailies despite putting 500 hours into it.
>hopes
all other weapons get the Lance treatment that Rise gave Lance. TCS isn't the only viable way to GS and they bring back the bread and butter of old and make it as viable as spamming TCS. asymmetrical armor. blademaster armors. gunner armors. no cancerous wirebugs or fireflies telling me where to go. >thoughts

looks like a PS4 game
you're so close to getting it
what new console from nintendo is coming out soon that is rumoured to have the same processing power of a PS4Pro?
It's obviously on the Switch 2, which will be out by 2025.
>2025
It is not on Switch because the next Nintendo system will be out by then.
Genuinely don't think this will be on the switch 2 or whatever the frick. Maybe the next spinoff game but this is a mainline one and sony at least definitely paid capcom some hush money for this.
Xbox Series S. Thank Microsoft.
This sounds more plausible. I forgot game devs had to optimize for the series S if they also wanted it on the X.
No, use your damn head for a moment.
What's this trailer going to do, have a Swicth 2 logo on it? Nintendo hasn't even announced the damn thing yet. They'd be breaking their N.D.A. and get taken to court.
No hope because I didn't like World and Rise and this seems more of that.
What sucks most about these newer MH games is that the open maps are a detriment to enjoyment. The monsters still run to specified arenas despite the huge open maps, and you spend a lot of time chasing them.
>The monsters still run to specified arenas despite the huge open maps, and you spend a lot of time chasing them.
So exactly like the older games in other words? Except in World and Rise you at least get raider rides/palamutes to offset the tedium of chasing monsters and running out of stamina.
In older games I spent more time fighting than running after them. In these new ones they barely use 50% of the maps so all of it ends up feeling like a waste of resources.
i know "muh open world" and all but holy shit it looks so much worse than rise wtaf how are the graphics that shit. The switch to RE engine was such a mistake especially with the effects, why do the textures in sandstorm look so fricking abysmal, gen just make world 2 instead of rise-flop, somehow the graphics in this series peaked 6 fricking years ago
the textures are ridiculous, I'm assuming they are aiming for max toaster friendly experience which is fine but I do hope it doesn't end up looking worse than a fromsoft game when maxed out
Im glad to see that they kept the riding mount and gave it more mobility. I hope the hunter retains at least some personal mobility and that all terrain is traversable like in Rise.
The mount looks like it's carrying a bowgun along with supplies and a rolled up tent.
Are we getting the ability to swap to a secondary weapon while out in the field?
>Are we getting the ability to swap to a secondary weapon while out in the field?
alright whats your go to weapon combo. im thinking swaxe and gunlance
That's probably not what it's for, since the mount wouldn't be able to carry bigger weapons like the lance or switch axe without making it look awkward.
I'm afraid to even bring it up, but do you think this trailer was so barebones on new features because Capcom is afraid to alienate long-time fans again like World's previews did?
"Alienate" fans by selling 3x more than their previous highest selling game.
They're a publicly traded company, they don't give a shit about pissing off old fans because: >90% of "old" fans will still eat any slop they put out >new fans will buy the game anyway
Doesn't matter of 200k of those old guard fans leave because they got 800k replacing those people.
And yet Iceborne shows they were desperate to win back the favor of the old fans, even if it meant pissing off the newbies. Did you even hunt Alatreon and Fatalis?
we call those people "morons," the slinger's a neat way of making items like paintballs and throwing knives make more sense as part of a hunter's panoply
I didn't like the slinger because it forced the extra step of loading the item into the slinger before you could use those items, and pods had lower carry capacity than their equivalent bombs in other games.
I have World on PS5 for free but haven't played it.
I could play Rise.
I always give the demos of these games a try but find them to be really clunky.
Should I give the inevitable demo of this game a shot? How do I activate MH autism?
Funny you say that, because what got me into Monster Hunter in the first place was the Tri demo disk. I played that shit for hours. In fact I always put 10+ hours into every Monster Hunter demo I got my hands on.
I just picked up Tri because I saw the Capcom logo. I had never even heard of Monster Hunter prior to that, but I liked Mega Man and Street Fighter II growing up. I uniroonically thought it was a fishing game.
Funny you say that, because what got me into Monster Hunter in the first place was the Tri demo disk. I played that shit for hours. In fact I always put 10+ hours into every Monster Hunter demo I got my hands on.
Okay. How do you justify to yourself how slow and clunky the combat feels in comparison to other games? It feels slower compared to the stuff like DMC.
Well it's not those games and combat speed doesn't matter as long as it's fun.
It's a more methodical and patient type of combat where you need to be careful and not be greedy.
I thought the same thing as a guy who came from faster paced games. Try out Sword and Shield and Dual Blades and move from there. The combat is really fun once it clicks. Also Rise is really fast so that might be a good starting point
the clunkiness is there for a reason. or you can just be a gay and use any of the light weapons. but they suck. except for the bow. but the bow sucks in a different way. you'll feel like a cheap gay when you use it.
No, it was always like a level select. Areas on the map would be sectioned off by loading screens.
Until 5th gen when they were sectioned off by hallways.
Retoasting from the last bread (and adding to it) >Open world is more than arenas connected by corridors and disguised loading screens. >Monsters aren't bound by arenas but enact out behavioral patterns so you're actually tracking and hunting rather than collecting poop for scoutflies. >Main Quest/Hunts are longer than a single hunt to encourage players to actually engage with the World. >Camps are few and far between, and don't hold infinite items to encourage you to engage with the environment if you are burning through resources. >Arena hunts (or Arena like hunts) are available for all Monsters (plus the usual selection of Arena stuff) for when the above becomes super fricking tedious later into the grind.
>Monster Hunter movie involves monsters coming to our world >Monster Hunter Now involves monsters coming to our world >Monster Hunter Wilds has the machine that brings monster to our world
You'll never guess what happens next
That sling suggests that you carry both a melee and ranged weapon and you can swap around by interacting with your mount.
Either that or you can carry any two weapons around that you can swap around.
Or that is the new tool that will replace the claw/bugs.
The hunter has a slinger on his arm and scoutflies on the belt. They're using the base slinger model though so they probably dropped clutch claw.
They're probably doing mobile camp shit since the mount also has camping supplies on it.
I hate you goss homosexuals so much it's unreal. I hate you more than that weird fricker from/mhg/ that had a fetish for Kut ku. It's the Arzuros skeleton.
Frick no. The gameplay completely falls apart when you realize that the optimal mode of gameplay is to stack wirebug regeneration modifiers and spamming the same wirebug attack over and over forever. Usually a counter.
No more counters! That's the only thing World did better.
Insect Glaive's counter was actually built into one of its normal attacks. I forget what it's called, but it's the one that replaces the draw attack with a spinning dash forward. If you get hit during the spinning dash you'll ignore the hit and immediately jump into the air.

IG's counter dash wasn't a better option than just jumping over shit in a lot of cases
Hammer had Water Strike as a switch move as well but was somewhat awkward to use since you couldn't use it mid-charge
LS counters carried over from World and Switch Axe's counter after Sunbreak's changes were the stupid good ones

Never played a MH game before but I see that World and Rise are both on sale, which should I pick up? And can I do good character customization and make a cute girl in either?
Pick whatever one, they're both still active. Play the other if you do everything and aren't burnt out yet. >and make a cute girl in either?
Your character will be buried in armor 99% of the time unless you make layered armor out of one of the loose sets at endgame

>IG's counter dash wasn't a better option than just jumping over shit in a lot of cases
Yes it was. It deals dmaage and counts as an aerial attack for the purposes of increasing diving wyvern damage. You do lose quick tornado slash/tetraseal however so I don't use it.
Hammer, Hunting Horn and you also only specified silkbind counters you absolute disingenuous homosexual. Why drives someone to be so much of a fricking homosexual to b***h about and make up shit for a game they haven't played?
No I didn't, I said counters but I never specified they had to be silkbind counters. Hammer gets the water strike, which, agian, is utterly vital to playing the hammer. Quit wasting my time and accept reality already.

Note how I didn't write "silkbind counter".
How's your argument faring, by the way? You've literally conceded that every single weapon except 3 relies on silkbind counters, and those instead rely on regular counters. Compare to World where 2 weapons rely on counters. My point is clear as the day.
Kinsect and None of them are vital, haven't used any counter
Git gud scrub
A button replacement is the best way to gain air.
>I haven't used any counter
You're gimping yourself. I can respect that. But we all know the way you're intended to play the game is to counterspam, and once the games introduce actual challenges you will be forced to do that as to not time out.
Hammer, Hunting Horn and you also only specified silkbind counters you absolute disingenuous homosexual. Why drives someone to be so much of a fricking homosexual to b***h about and make up shit for a game they haven't played?
If MH6P ends up having a theme like how Rise/Sunbreak were yokai and gothic horror monsters I'm hoping we get something like Greek myth Monster Hunter or just fricking cryptids.
Mounted aerial combat might be a thing since the mount is a bird. Or rather maybe that's why they made it a bird in the first place instead of going with dogs like in Rise.
You can jump off the dogs in most situations so why not
Unless some bits like the jumping section they showed are glorified loading zones that you can't dismount in
Probably any time and you upgrade the mount throughout the game with flight being the final one so clearing main story ultimately resulting in you getting the ability to fly to target monster

World is cheaper right now, but Sunbreak has a demo on the Rise store page. Try the demo, and be sure to mess with the options to fine tune the controls to your liking.
It looks like he has another weapon with him, possibly a bowgun? Having a secondary weapon that you can switch to without going back to camp may in fact be a thing.
They're not going to show the logo of a console that hasn't even been announced yet
If Wilds does come to Switch 2, it'll only be shown after (or likely during) Switch 2's announcement
They can't show it being on Nintendo's next thing if it hasn't been revealed yet.
Just yesterday you gays thought it was going to be Switch 2 exclusive even though the ransomware leak said MH6 was PS5/XSX/PC.
Just live with it. Switch 2 will get Portable 6th.
I remember when the DQ11 reveal fricked up and talked about the Switch before the Switch was announced
And then it was the last console to get the game
My head canon is a fist weapon that builds up pressure (charge gauge) every time you hit the monster and at full pressure, you can release a pile with your hit or you vent the pressure for a rocket-esque punch
Not gonna lie, I was really hoping for an early 2024 release. Fall at worst. I will have literally nothing to occupy myself with aside from seething vitriol directed towards Dragon's Dogshit and its fanbase for delaying my game.
Capcom tends to release their big shit early in the year so there's a decent chance of early 2025
That would still be the longest time between an MH trailer and release I'm pretty sure
And it's not much of a trailer either. At least it's not a logo against a black screen.
So some people reckon you will be able to carry a second weapon on your mount, that seems really cool, full mid hunt reequiping would be lame but letting you choose one alternate weapon to bring with you is a pretty neat idea, take a long sword to avoid having to frick around with slicing shotd
I think you're getting your hopes up, it's just going to be something way less cool. Like always having a bowgunner weapon available even for blademasters.
I just want lance to be good without there being a catch. >Iceborne had easily the best lance gameplay ever >New monsters like Velkhana get mechanics that will just kill you if you use lance against them
>Iceborne had easily the best lance gameplay ever
Nope that's still Sunbreak lance if you dont count Frontier lance.
In fact I would say Iceborne lance was extremely cucked because there are true unblockable attacks in that game even with guard up, had lower MVs across the board, and had to get a pity boost with the Fatalis weapon to make up for the lower MVs
Unblockable attacks were never a problem when World Lance was easily the most mobile it had been at that point in the series. Anybody who pissed themselves about unblockables in Iceborne were simply not good at using Lance.
Unblockable attacks were clearly created to curb the shielded HBG gays just face tanking everything but lance was caught in the crossfire because they clearly didnt care about it much as shown by the MVs. So a neglected weapon that functioned well enough was shit on for the duration of the game. So regardless of this skill argument you want to play the weapon was still unfairly shit on until Sunbreak where it because the peak lance.
World Lance was absolutely fine, if lacking slightly in damage. Base Rise Lance was kinda shit because it lost the extra mobility it had from World, Guard was now harder to slot in, its best DPS required spamming a really awkward skill, and it was actively having its identity stolen by Longsword, to the point where each and every one of Longsword's counters had a more forgiving activation window than Insta-Block.
Yeah world lance was fine but lacking in most places.
Iceborne lance was still fine but lacking and then they shit on it even more.
Rise lance was lacking because of the counterintuitive change they made to enraged guard.
Sunbreak lance is where they clearly sat down and wondered what the frick they were doing and fixed it to the best its ever been.
>Iceborne lance was still fine but lacking and then they shit on it even more.
Nah Iceborne lance was the first time in forever where guarding wasn't suicidal half the time in G Rank cause of chip damage scaling along with the actual damage
Rise fricked it up again by splitting Guard and Guard Up the way it did but yeah Sunbreak fixed pretty much any complaint and finally undid the damage nerfs from P3rd
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
traversal != movement during fight.
Clutch claw already ruin the fight but at least it restricted to grapple on monster part instead of imaginary bugs..
The sandstorm thing confuses me, especially at the end where it turns the desert into plains/grasslands. It's making me think that there's just going to be one map that turns into different biomes.
The lightning storm and the lightningrod armadillos too, probably just means weather effects are gonna be a big factor in fights
Might get shit like the Elder Dragons really fricking with the environment like the artbooks always talked about but never got implemented in gameplay
>Might get shit like the Elder Dragons really fricking with the environment
It didn't affect gameplay but World sort of had that with the Ancient Forrest getting windy and overcast when Kushala was around, and it raining when in the Coral Highlands when Namielle's there.
I think it's just the storm literally blowing sand off the vegetation. Monster Hunter isn't that mystical
>Monster Hunter isn't that mystical
There's already been areas with characteristics of multiple biomes like the guiding lands and Citadel. Also Alatreon's arena in Iceborne changed a bit depending on if he was in fire or ice mode, so I don't think a zone that changes biome types is too crazy. If it's true it will probably be caused by the final boss elder anyways.
Yeah I know World had the visual effects but shit like "Teostra ignites everything in the area just by existing" could be a thing if they go wild with the weather
>in4 no crossplay
Capcom last failed coop game got mandatory capcom id for crossplay.
Why do you think they announced this game on all platforms during reveal trailer?
They made you use a Capcom ID for the (currently running by the way go vote) 20th anniversary poll. I reckon that might be to prepare people to use one for crossplay too
So some people reckon you will be able to carry a second weapon on your mount, that seems really cool, full mid hunt reequiping would be lame but letting you choose one alternate weapon to bring with you is a pretty neat idea, take a long sword to avoid having to frick around with slicing shotd
I can't pick my camp,. and I have to restock because I can only carry 1 around. It's so fricking inconvenient and pointless. If I'm able to bring up the map menu and select a destination I'm probably not in compbat.
I'm saying that because one of the arm pieces is going to have the same slinger model on it they'll have to do less work putting together full sets.
If you take a look at world armor sets they have copypaste slingers, scoutfly cages, and hunting knives on your behind. The unique slingers, cages, knives were for special armor sets only.
>6 dragons in logo >wilds >seed sapling thing guarded by 2 dragon big dick guardian
I'm guessing the open world thing is going to be the 6 stages and we're going to "Hunt" for these 6 guardians in the savannah safari to get to the sapling thing
Guys not trying to FUD but that trailer was nothing compared to the insane mind bending hype of world. Graphics don't look like much of a leap, looks like they'll have shitty rise elements and this shit mounting meme is gay. The trailer just didn't do it for me
Aren't they kind of pointless though? Can't they just integrate every move into the weapon's moveset instead of making them mutually exclusive?
World Lance was absolutely fine, if lacking slightly in damage. Base Rise Lance was kinda shit because it lost the extra mobility it had from World, Guard was now harder to slot in, its best DPS required spamming a really awkward skill, and it was actively having its identity stolen by Longsword, to the point where each and every one of Longsword's counters had a more forgiving activation window than Insta-Block.
>World Lance was absolutely fine, if lacking slightly in damage
Some weapons wouldn't have enough buttons unless they start using both shoulder buttons as modifiers, I don't think they wanna stack that much shit on a weapon at once either
Switch skills sure, but I'm not sure why you would want hunting styles to come back without arts when they're basically chopped up versions of guild aside from valor
Ironically Rise fixed a lot of world's flaws like having attractive women again, Goofy characters, the qurio system made many endgame weapons not trash and having a varied monster cast, but the homosexuals really spammed hard how world was "better" than rise
Worldsperm don't play monster hunter games. The only real trash rise had was Rampages and even that could be improved if capcom put in more effort but they just dropped it entirely.
I personally love the absurd amount of situational and conditional armor skills sunbreak added. The build variety you can make with all sorts of goofy synergies is insane.
And they nerfed all the fun shit like being able to buff the shit out of your dogs and have them kill monsters for you. Gotta follow that meta 🙂
Makes sense coming from the company that is outspokenly against modding, "No Fun Allowed" is basically Crapcom's policy at this point.
I hope they dial back on the stupid cutscene shit or at least keep it like how it was in Rise. World's cinematics are fricking trash and it takes too fricking long to just get to the hunting with friends.
Hope they bring back wirebug moves/hunter arts.
Hope they don't just double down on the dogshit they did in World like mantles and clutch claw trash.
Don't forget 4U also had long, unskippable cutscenes in the middle of your hunts. They'll never learn.
Some weapons wouldn't have enough buttons unless they start using both shoulder buttons as modifiers, I don't think they wanna stack that much shit on a weapon at once either
Give them different modes, like savage axe. I mena, c'mon. Going back to camp just because you want to use a specific move is the single most moronic design choice I've ever seen. The scrolls brought about their own restrictions.
So is it going to be a simultaneous release or not? They list Steam along with PS5 and Xbox, feel like they'd be shooting themselves in the foot here if they make PC players wait. >Launching in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC/Steam.
Probably not a year wait again if so, but still. They totally have the ability to do simultaneous.
World was late to PC cause the MH devs were doing the port themselves (badly) to learn how to make computer games
Rise was late to PC cause Ninteno paid a fat stack for it
Who knows this time, maybe it just won't release until every version is ready
Desert theming just seems moronic. We are supposed to clock 1000 hours into MH, we want to see every biome and not mainly brown shit. World already made this mistake and lacked a snow biome and a normal forest and grassland
>Hopes
That the Hunting Horn returns back to its Pre-Rise form, that it goes full nature sim (I.e. that the weather affects the hunts, the temperature becomes a hazard affected by the seasons), that there's underwater combat, and that there's resource management back. >Thoughts

all I need is my trusty gunlance and I'm good
that said, I kinda hope they trim down the skills a little, mainly because I feel like they let you have way too many now
Can they make it optional? It's fine if you like the story, but why force people that dont want a story?
I think the perfect start to mh is a short cutscene you can skip and then you can run straight to the hub invite your friends and start hunting a random big bird.
Why force the dude into a gameplay movie for 20 mins before he can hunt
>can't abbreviate it to MHW because Monster Hunter World exists >can't abbreviate it to MHWi because Monster Hunter World (I)ceborne exists
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
They really never fixed that shit? I would've given it a shot if I didn't hear about the game shitting the bed hard when you hit the high rank equivalent
I WILL play your game.
I WILL main lance again.
I WILL NOT learn any fancy combos.
I WILL terrify the monsters by simply walking towards them while disregarding their attacks because I run gaurd 5 and hp recover on hits.
I WILL bully all monsters again.
Bow gays can never compete.
Lance charge was faster than sprinting in World as long as you didn't bump a corner
Rise slowed it down for no reason but the shield charge was faster again
>The monster will run
I swear people rarely used utility anymore in Rise.
Despite the anonying monster keep running you actually hunts like an actual hunter in World by using traps or your environment to make the monster stay in one place most of the time.
In Rise people just go ungabunga like a moron and let the monster run because wireBlack person exist.
In Rise half the time the monsters run because another monster walked in and started shit
Even without the rodeo after a few knockdowns one of the monsters will run away
Yeah, that's too.
Dungpod is essential before rise, now that things became useless because every monster interaction feels scripted and uninterrupted.
Monster rarely goes to another area once they got invaded during hunt, most of the time they actually tag team you until you used dung pod on one of them.
This doesn't happen anymore in Rise.
you're saying that like World didn't do the exact same thing

Only certain matchups had turfwars, everything else was the usual clusterfrick of two monsters clogging up the room until you got your shit bombs out
You can still get that in Rise in the arena missions but its really rare on the normal maps
Why do world only players feel pride in shit design that makes a good game worse than what it could be?
Its like they feel offended that people think some of the experimental stuff just didn't work.

Trailer was prerendered shit that will likely not be representative of actual gameplay so who the frick knows >expectations
Further casualization, some new moronic gimmick, no new weapon types. >what monsters and weapons do you want back
All of them
The entire trailer felt rushed honestly, some anon said that Geoff asked Capcom to show the game since there were frick all major announcements and they shat out this trailer.
I hope they implement the Gun Sword from Lost Planet 2 as a new weapon class
fippy bippy
i hope i can skip cutscenes
>open world
Sucks, but I'll manage. It'll still be Monster Hunter.
>PS5 exclusive
FRICK
>PS5 exclusive
anon i...
Guess I'll finally be upgrading my 2016 build in 2025 bros.
Finally time to jump to 144hz.
it's not PS5 exclusive you blind frick
>PS5 exclusive
r u moronic
>PS5 exclusive
are you moronic?
>open world
where are people getting this from? i didnt see that in the trailer
are you so dense that you couldn't piece it together?
>are you so dense that you couldn't piece it together?
im autistic i need it to be clearly stated to me
He's right there is no indication that it will be open world
You homosexuals played too much Zelda slop, you see gliding you think open world
But we had gliding in World
>World
>open World
woah...
I want medium bowguns back
as someone who never used LBG or HBG, what was medium bowgun like
Tri bowguns were mix and match parts, overall weight changed the behavior
Medium category was slower movement and you couldn't equip the shield like HBG but you kept a decent roll.
On the subject of bowguns I hope they bring crouching fire back as a default
IMO just make bowguns a single category and let you make any given one light/medium/heavy through modding.
I'm thinking its more about wide open maps, but will still have different locales. Think mhw maps on steroids
>It'll still be Monster Hunter.
hasnt been since w*rld
You're all clowning on this anon for this but for some reason this specific trailer release only says PS5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLGskYHVaY4
because that's the fricking playstation channel trailer
of course they're not gonna show their competitor's logos
You lost snoytroony spammer
Have fun seeing this sell more on PC just like World did 🙂
Valor Shelling for my Gunlance and a Switch 2 port.
I wonder if we'll get a cute Native American or CowGirl Follower this time?
>Hunter is carrying a bowgun on his pet
Cool I Love it.
I expect it to be infested with Denuvo again so it's a no-buy for me (much like with World, despite having friends that own it) since I refuse to taint my PC with that cancer.
autism
Nah, it's called having standards. Although that is a rather foreign concept these days I admit.
>Hopes
Please don't get even more dumbed down
>Thoughts
What's there to think? There wasn't any real gameplay, and the prerendered trailer was a hunter riding a mount that could glide. I guess it's just an upgrade of the palamute.
>Expectations
It's going to be more dumbed down
>monsters and weapons do you want back
Has MH ever removed weapons? Not counting the light/medium/heavy bowgun system. If you mean mechanics, I sure as shit don't want the clutch claw back. Wirebugs are okay I guess, but I don't care much for mounting. It would be neat to see the tonfas or magnet spike though.
>Wirebugs are okay I guess
absolutely fricking not
better than mantles and clutch tenderizing
they're all total dogshit mechanics and I don't care to rank different levels of shit
>don't want the clutch claw back. Wirebugs are okay I guess,
homosexual confirmed
Cluch claw had its flaws but was far better than wirebugs
>Cluch claw had its flaws but was far better than wirebugs
please please please please please kys please please please kys please kys now you fricking Black person homosexual piece of shit
All monsters (except fatalis) gained a new droll stagger that you can't turn off for free damage.
You can turn off the wirebig riding and attacking the monster makes the riding state end faster.
Therefore the bugs are less intrusive than the claw and better.
>mounts
rise chads, we won.
Autism
cope, worldcuck
>slingers and scoutflies
rise virgins, you lost.
>we won
Aren't you forgetting someone?
Sorry pally, but chocobo is my new best friend, he can glide.
He's dead we ride birds now
I never used these once during my +600 hours of playing Rise or Sunbreak. Good riddance, filthy mutt.
I played it 600 hours longer than you did.
Sure thing, buddy
>Started on steam
Pffthahaha, I had surpassed that time while it was still a Switch exclusive. Get on my level, casual.
Afraid we need something a bit more robust for tougher environments
World had mounts, I know Iceborne did at least
HOLY SHIT
anyone who didn't think world was 5 and this is 6 was a fricking moron anyway
Oh god, is that a giraffe being sucked off? I don't know if I like the direction this game is taking.
reminder giraffes are called Kirin in jap
looked really good
Kek. It looks like crap compared to world, a five year old last gen game. How???
Hope coop isn't a pain in the ass
I never beat World and I played Rise for like 5 minutes. I am so behind.
NOBODY BELIEVED ME
Good job anon
I wish the music was more flavorful with wacky exotic caveman instruments like in the old games rather than the plain jane orchestra shit from world . My only complaint.
God I hope they bring Jhen back. Miss that fricker.
BRING SWIMMING BACK YOU COWARDS
>Lizardbird seems to be carrying a gun
WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Also I just want my Tonfa back.
Elder dragon flagship.
>tfw tonfas come back
>New skeletons
What could they feasibly add that doesn't fall under the existing ones?
More insects would be neat. Beatle like monster could be really cool, I don't think their is a skeleton that could fit a beatle.
Nothing stopping Capcom from making new skeletons
Seltas but bigger is doable
Last gen graphics thanks to switch 2 + Open world slop + 2025 release
Get used to it homosexual, MH ran with the 2005 graphics until literally 2018. They weren't kidding when they said World was hte new basis for them to use for the next decade or so.
Yea, and thanks to the graphics upgrade MH franchise was saved and MH wilds is running on RE engine.
jesus, what happened to monster hunter's players that they're braying about graphics? this franchise specifically avoided the playstation vita because it represented a graphical leap they didn't want to take just yet. they went to the fricking 3DS so they could keep using PSP and PS2 era graphics. what is wrong with you?
World brought in nearly 20 million people who had never played a single MH game before, anon. You have to move on. It's painful, but you must.
To be fair, half of them dropped off when they realized it wasn't uncharted with dinosaurs or medieval destiny.
For literary any other videogame franchise that is not monster hunter , Ganker unanimously agrees that that is a bad thing and an undesirable outcome
It's what being a seething sonygay does to a mf, the only issue with the new game so far is everything looking blurry as shit on the trailer but at least the colors/overall style is nothing like Rise or World
So, my hunterbros, what shall we do until 2025?
>Replay the older MHs using a new weapon
>Beat Frontiers
>Play MH NowhahahaHAHAHAHAHA no.
just play World until the game comes out or my hands get tired, what comes first
Frick, guess it's time for more Generations Ultimate.
I!m still working on special investigations in sunbreak.
I finally unlocked the special investigations, but the monsters seem identical except they have 50% more health, which is super duper not a fricking issue at all. Was I japed? I thought they were going to be harder.
>finish world for good
>finish/get into 4u
>either gen ult or rise afterwards
>play FU or 3u if i still have time
Between Freedom 2 and Sunbreak the only entry I didn't play all the way through was 3U so I think I'm gonna do that.
3U's endgame is really cool. The G-rank quests cycle, so you never know what you're going to get. DO NOT HUNT THE HADES OR CLASHING FISTS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
The GTA I played was 3. It was bad.
Hunt fantasy monsters in Dragon's Dogma 2.
Monster hunter if he poorly programmed shovelware for 7 year olds
C'mon Capcom are you fricking not showing us any more of this game until next Summer?
Are we getting new weapons?
What's the flagship like?
Frick!
it's the 20th anniversary for the series in a couple of months, so there will probably be a second trailer then
PLEASE

No gore magala
I know there's the one that got affected by lightning but it didn't get much of a spotlight.
boltgun being carried on the saddle, likely able to switch main weapons at the mount
AWAWU? AWAWU? BAWAWA
Just give me back the Great Jaggi
>world 2
Extremely disappointed, will not even pirate it unless there's some cool new weapons or reworks to weapons they ruined in 5th gen.
>World introduces unskippable cinematic cutscenes, the most unforgivably dogshit weapon design, and MMO-style Dailies, and they celebrate all of it
>Wilds will introduce open world slop mechanics and fix nothing World ruined, and they will celebrate it again
Worldfetuses are literally the worst
I've never skipped a cutscene even when given the option,
had more than enough fun with my Lance in World,
and I didn't even know World had dailies despite putting 500 hours into it.
Get your crying done now so you won't have to do it later.
what if it's open world but all the qol babby features added in world and rise are gone
>hopes
all other weapons get the Lance treatment that Rise gave Lance. TCS isn't the only viable way to GS and they bring back the bread and butter of old and make it as viable as spamming TCS. asymmetrical armor. blademaster armors. gunner armors. no cancerous wirebugs or fireflies telling me where to go.
>thoughts
i love monhun. i hope it's good and i'll play it just like i played all of them.
>expectations
LS gets 2 more counters. other weapons get the HH treatment Rise gave HH where the weapon kind of just plays itself for you.
>what mon and weapons i want back
i want Bazel back. i want all the weapons back. why do they have to be stingy homosexuals with the gear availability?
>HH treatment Rise gave HH where the weapon kind of just plays itself for you.
HH was always braindead aside from when it had double notes.
anyone here waiting for another new waifu?
My waifu was confirmed. Patiently waiting
>not on switch
>still looks like a PS4 game
How? DD2 looks better and it's also open world with a ton of entities and the same engine.
looks like a PS4 game
you're so close to getting it
what new console from nintendo is coming out soon that is rumoured to have the same processing power of a PS4Pro?
Genuinely don't think this will be on the switch 2 or whatever the frick. Maybe the next spinoff game but this is a mainline one and sony at least definitely paid capcom some hush money for this.
It's obviously on the Switch 2, which will be out by 2025.
>2025
It is not on Switch because the next Nintendo system will be out by then.
Xbox Series S. Thank Microsoft.
Better be on PC at release, i refuse to pay to play online
>map way too big
>slopes everywhere
I hate it. I want to go back.
>2025
ILL BE DEAD BY THEN NO FAIR
a-anon?
Stupid shipgirl got rejected by the burger.
i know "muh open world" and all but holy shit it looks so much worse than rise wtaf how are the graphics that shit. The switch to RE engine was such a mistake especially with the effects, why do the textures in sandstorm look so fricking abysmal, gen just make world 2 instead of rise-flop, somehow the graphics in this series peaked 6 fricking years ago
the textures are ridiculous, I'm assuming they are aiming for max toaster friendly experience which is fine but I do hope it doesn't end up looking worse than a fromsoft game when maxed out
it has to run on PS5 in 2025, of course its going to look like it runs on a toaster
>hopes
It's good with g-rank day 1
>expectation
It's shit, no g rank and no end game
anon there's no way capcom is gonna pass up on selling g rank again
Im glad to see that they kept the riding mount and gave it more mobility. I hope the hunter retains at least some personal mobility and that all terrain is traversable like in Rise.
i have a ps4, what monster hunter game do i start with
world/iceborne
then try out older titles
The mount looks like it's carrying a bowgun along with supplies and a rolled up tent.
Are we getting the ability to swap to a secondary weapon while out in the field?
no moron. it's just a mobile camp.
>Are we getting the ability to swap to a secondary weapon while out in the field?
alright whats your go to weapon combo. im thinking swaxe and gunlance
Greatsword and another Greatsword
swaxe and lance
That's probably not what it's for, since the mount wouldn't be able to carry bigger weapons like the lance or switch axe without making it look awkward.
I'm afraid to even bring it up, but do you think this trailer was so barebones on new features because Capcom is afraid to alienate long-time fans again like World's previews did?
"Alienate" fans by selling 3x more than their previous highest selling game.
They're a publicly traded company, they don't give a shit about pissing off old fans because:
>90% of "old" fans will still eat any slop they put out
>new fans will buy the game anyway
Doesn't matter of 200k of those old guard fans leave because they got 800k replacing those people.
And yet Iceborne shows they were desperate to win back the favor of the old fans, even if it meant pissing off the newbies. Did you even hunt Alatreon and Fatalis?
>seasons changing in real time
DosGODS we are so fricking back
I wonder if environmental effects will be a thing again? Like how you could only ue lightning rods during a rainstorm.
I hope they bring that back along with seasons and daytime affecting the map layout. Actually planning out when and where to hunt a monster was kino
OH NO NO NO
NOOOOOOOOOOO NOT SCOUTSLOP
HOLY SHIT WORLDGODS ACTUALLY WON ITS SO OVER RISEKEKS
>everybody hates the slinger because of the clutch claw even though they're completely separate functions
we call those people "morons," the slinger's a neat way of making items like paintballs and throwing knives make more sense as part of a hunter's panoply
I didn't like the slinger because it forced the extra step of loading the item into the slinger before you could use those items, and pods had lower carry capacity than their equivalent bombs in other games.
Yes! I love tenderizing the monster!
>The Handler Returns
Early alpha footage, there's no way they're bringing back the two most loathed mechanics in the franchise after mounting.
It doesn't have the design they used from Iceborne so it's probably just back to regular slinger shit.
This time it will be a bug that comes out so you can latch onto it with the slinger's wire and swing around. A "wire bug" if you will.
I have no idea how open world monster hunter will contort itself into the generic mh portable structure world and rise ultimately do
I NEED a big ass shield weapon, but I know capcom won't add shit for new weapon types. Lance doesn't count cause it's poke poke poke
>poke poke poke
I wish. Its more like counter slap slap counter
I have World on PS5 for free but haven't played it.
I could play Rise.
I always give the demos of these games a try but find them to be really clunky.
Should I give the inevitable demo of this game a shot? How do I activate MH autism?
>How do I activate MH autism?
you have to play beyond the demos and get to the real meat and potatoes
youll know for sure if it clicks
Funny you say that, because what got me into Monster Hunter in the first place was the Tri demo disk. I played that shit for hours. In fact I always put 10+ hours into every Monster Hunter demo I got my hands on.
I just picked up Tri because I saw the Capcom logo. I had never even heard of Monster Hunter prior to that, but I liked Mega Man and Street Fighter II growing up. I uniroonically thought it was a fishing game.
for me it was the opposite, i was too moronic to understand the 4u demo so i had to keep playing beyond it to truly understand what i had my hands on
Tri was also what got me into the series because I could play it on a normal-sized screen without a moronic control scheme.
That's an unfortunate hairline.
Okay. How do you justify to yourself how slow and clunky the combat feels in comparison to other games? It feels slower compared to the stuff like DMC.
>slow and clunky
It's not, it's deliberate and precise. Other action games are floaty and unresponsive. Unplayable after you've gotten used to MH's perfection.
the combat is more about positioning and punishing monster attacks rather than fast and flashy combos
Also Rise is really fast so that might be a good starting point
same way souls games do
Souls isn't clunky tho.
This feels on average, like 1.5x times slower than say, PS3 Demon's Souls. Or DSII, I'm not sure which is the slowest.
I disagree. I always feels this disconnect to when I press an attack button in MH and when the animation goes off.
>I always feels this disconnect to when I press an attack button in MH and when the animation goes off.
Its called animation commitment
>I always feels this disconnect to when I press an attack button in MH and when the animation goes off.
once you get used to it you'll never want to go back to spammy bullshit again.
MH is faster than a lot of action games it just expects you to actually commit to shit
And if you can't handle that play SnS Dual Blades or LBG
the clunkiness is there for a reason. or you can just be a gay and use any of the light weapons. but they suck. except for the bow. but the bow sucks in a different way. you'll feel like a cheap gay when you use it.
Were monster hunter games not always "open world" you just go to certain open areas over and over?
"Open World" in the context of Monster Hunter means "no loading zones".
The games play the same.
No, it was always like a level select. Areas on the map would be sectioned off by loading screens.
Until 5th gen when they were sectioned off by hallways.
They were spilt up into various "Areas", each separated by a short loading screen in the early days.
Retoasting from the last bread (and adding to it)
>Open world is more than arenas connected by corridors and disguised loading screens.
BUT LOOK AT THAT SAND TEXTURE WHERE'S MY RAYTRACING WHY AREN'T THE COLORS OVER SATURATED?????
how big is he gonna be?
You think it's a snake, but it's actually Tower autism.
I have a feeling this is going to end up frying my PC if this happens often
At least you've got some time to save up for a new rig if it's that dire
lmao this shit looks exactly like the isekai machine from the movie
Monster Hunter 2, coming to theaters holiday 2025!
>Monster Hunter movie involves monsters coming to our world
>Monster Hunter Now involves monsters coming to our world
>Monster Hunter Wilds has the machine that brings monster to our world
You'll never guess what happens next
Finally we get to see elder dragons frick up the ecosystem in real time.
They're probably doing mobile camp shit since the mount also has camping supplies on it.
call me crazy, but is this a Goss Harag?
I hate you goss homosexuals so much it's unreal. I hate you more than that weird fricker from/mhg/ that had a fetish for Kut ku. It's the Arzuros skeleton.
>It's the Arzuros skeleton.
No one cares about Shitzuros. It's Goss's skeleton now
This thing is going to get a moderate amount of porn.
So what do we name this thing. My first that was ChocoBro, but that doesn't fit the Pal- suffix.
Maybe a Palcon or something.
It HAS to have wirebugs they were a giant improvement to the series
Frick no. The gameplay completely falls apart when you realize that the optimal mode of gameplay is to stack wirebug regeneration modifiers and spamming the same wirebug attack over and over forever. Usually a counter.
No more counters! That's the only thing World did better.
You didn't play Sunbreak
Huh. I don't use either and I've still been plugging through SB endgame just fine.
Black person like 2 weapons had good wirebug counters. Why are you gays always so disingenuous?
Because Nintendo bad or something
Every non-ranged weapon has a great counter absolutely vital to optimal gameplay. name one that doens't.
IG
Insect Glaive's counter was actually built into one of its normal attacks. I forget what it's called, but it's the one that replaces the draw attack with a spinning dash forward. If you get hit during the spinning dash you'll ignore the hit and immediately jump into the air.
>top spin is a vital move
I wonder what your clear times were
IG's counter dash wasn't a better option than just jumping over shit in a lot of cases
Hammer had Water Strike as a switch move as well but was somewhat awkward to use since you couldn't use it mid-charge
LS counters carried over from World and Switch Axe's counter after Sunbreak's changes were the stupid good ones
No I didn't, I said counters but I never specified they had to be silkbind counters. Hammer gets the water strike, which, agian, is utterly vital to playing the hammer. Quit wasting my time and accept reality already.
>No I didn't, I said counters but I never specified they had to be silkbind counters
>same wirebug attack over and over forever. Usually a counter.
Actually Kys.
Note how I didn't write "silkbind counter".
How's your argument faring, by the way? You've literally conceded that every single weapon except 3 relies on silkbind counters, and those instead rely on regular counters. Compare to World where 2 weapons rely on counters. My point is clear as the day.
Its not a counter attack though.
A button replacement is the best way to gain air.
>I haven't used any counter
You're gimping yourself. I can respect that. But we all know the way you're intended to play the game is to counterspam, and once the games introduce actual challenges you will be forced to do that as to not time out.
Nop
Get better at hunting, noob
Kinsect and None of them are vital, haven't used any counter
Git gud scrub
Hammer, Hunting Horn and you also only specified silkbind counters you absolute disingenuous homosexual. Why drives someone to be so much of a fricking homosexual to b***h about and make up shit for a game they haven't played?
Fricking moron
>4U with elements of World and Rise
so what are you gonna name your palico and chocobo
Butz and Boco.
I hope they just don't give us a cat this time
I hope you kys before Wilds is released
I want a high tier crab based off of something like Mantis Shrimps, sea scorpions, pistol shrimps, or ANOMALOCARIS.
I hope the bear from Rise comes back he was cool. The elemental fist homie too.
If I want to wreck: dual blades
If I am vibing high: max defense skills lance
I hate dogs I fricking hate so fricking much I hate them holtshit never add dogs again thanks
Hard truth, but it's time for the cats to go too. The chocobo actually looks capable, I've no room for these little shits anymore.
>worldsperm hate palicos
doggo cute and good
Will these things be considered small monsters or perhaps it's a rampage mechanic?
God I hope courage hammer comes back but it feels like I'm the only one who enjoys it from the people I've talked to.
What are the odds of Wilds having cross-play?
If MH6P ends up having a theme like how Rise/Sunbreak were yokai and gothic horror monsters I'm hoping we get something like Greek myth Monster Hunter or just fricking cryptids.
>Monster Hunter Paradise was actually the expansion
>Mothman insect monster that's Ahtal-Ka levels of KINO
imagine
Mounted aerial combat might be a thing since the mount is a bird. Or rather maybe that's why they made it a bird in the first place instead of going with dogs like in Rise.
Probably wanted it to double as a glider
Nonsense, the map doens't look vertical at all. Slingers, scoutflies, whatever, if they bring back MOUNTING I'll fricking riot.
You can probably dismount to grab on to a flyer or do a downward attack.
Its just dog with built in glider mantle
Will it be one of those games where you can get off the mount anywhere or only at a specific point?
You can jump off the dogs in most situations so why not
Unless some bits like the jumping section they showed are glorified loading zones that you can't dismount in
Probably any time and you upgrade the mount throughout the game with flight being the final one so clearing main story ultimately resulting in you getting the ability to fly to target monster
>fly to monster
>hover above as high up as you can
>dismount
>falling comet attack with your hammer landing on the monster's head
would be kino
>2025
More time to upgrade your pc
I hope mantles don't fricking return
Frick the babies who used them
graphics look like PS3/early PS4 era, what went wrong? is this the switch's doing?
If I can't travel the world using my gunlance blash dash only I will not buy it
who else fricking hates world normies?
Everyone
WorldCHADS run MH threads, you stupid ugly homosexual
The fact that you said normies instead of normalgay means you're the normalgay playing pretend.
>two weapons
>literally everyone will just buff with hh and switch to their other weapon
>buff atkUpL with HH
>Switch to my backup weapon, a second HH with windproof and earplugs
I see no issue here
>The buffs disappear when the horn is switched out
What then?
Para SnS to stun them twice and then stick with doot rest of the fight.
How long is World? Last thing I killed was some red moron in the place where the big monsters go to die
1700 hours in my experience. Not the longest game
Lmao that's still low rank, although I think nearing the end of low rank.
Then you do high rank and then the iceborne expansion is master rank
>hopes
idk, just that it will be fun and the weapons I like to play feel good.
>thoughts
not really bothered by OW and mounts in this despite the proliferation of it all. I just want to get to the monster and fight, ill explore the map in down time quests.
> expectations
there's so little to go off, but probably world 1.5
>what monsters
don't really care as long as there's more variety and less coats of paint
>and weapons
HBG, IG, and FUNlance
please bring back lagi
I will take just the armor and weapons even at this point
I miss him.
I hope the capcom ID is mandatory so I finally can shit on my friends who only play on consoles.
Yeah I want to believe the poll needing the ID was preparing people for a cross play system
MH BROS I need your help
Never played a MH game before but I see that World and Rise are both on sale, which should I pick up? And can I do good character customization and make a cute girl in either?
pick world, gives you the best experience overall
Pick rise later if you want to spice things up with crazy bullshit skills
Rise for the cute NPC girls
Also, it's far easier to run than World and I find the gameplay more enjoyable than World
I started MH with World on PC
World was literally made for newfigs like you
World is cheaper right now, but Sunbreak has a demo on the Rise store page. Try the demo, and be sure to mess with the options to fine tune the controls to your liking.
both work, I personally prefer the monster roster in rise, which is a pretty big point in its favor
It looks like he has another weapon with him, possibly a bowgun? Having a secondary weapon that you can switch to without going back to camp may in fact be a thing.
How active is the online in world? I had rise for the switch but I sold it to get the 'eck. Also, does the game run well?
It's going to also be on Nintendo next console isn't it?
homie they already showed what it's on. You have to wait for Portable 6th.
They're not going to show the logo of a console that hasn't even been announced yet
If Wilds does come to Switch 2, it'll only be shown after (or likely during) Switch 2's announcement
Just yesterday you gays thought it was going to be Switch 2 exclusive even though the ransomware leak said MH6 was PS5/XSX/PC.
Just live with it. Switch 2 will get Portable 6th.
Nobody was saying that
Literally nobody
Nice revisionism.
>one anon's unfounded opinion means everyone was thinking the same
moron
Im ok with that
They can't show it being on Nintendo's next thing if it hasn't been revealed yet.
I remember when the DQ11 reveal fricked up and talked about the Switch before the Switch was announced
And then it was the last console to get the game
Just like that persona collection, right?
There's a nonzero chance they'll try to port it later, but I don't think they'll be aiming for it at launch.
A late port would be a death sentence. They're better off having it out the gate or not at all.
wishing for a pile driver weapon
My head canon is a fist weapon that builds up pressure (charge gauge) every time you hit the monster and at full pressure, you can release a pile with your hit or you vent the pressure for a rocket-esque punch
We had one, sort of.
frontier bros?
praying
haha yo brooo that's frickin wild!!!
kys
So they're just shamelessly ripping off Zelda now huh?
>le epic open world
>"Wilds" instead of Breath of the Wild
>every game is becoming "BIG GREEN EMPTY FIELD"
just fricking crash this market already
Not gonna lie, I was really hoping for an early 2024 release. Fall at worst. I will have literally nothing to occupy myself with aside from seething vitriol directed towards Dragon's Dogshit and its fanbase for delaying my game.
Play Dragon's Dogma in the meantime
Capcom tends to release their big shit early in the year so there's a decent chance of early 2025
That would still be the longest time between an MH trailer and release I'm pretty sure
And it's not much of a trailer either. At least it's not a logo against a black screen.
I think you're getting your hopes up, it's just going to be something way less cool. Like always having a bowgunner weapon available even for blademasters.
I just want lance to be good without there being a catch.
>Iceborne had easily the best lance gameplay ever
>New monsters like Velkhana get mechanics that will just kill you if you use lance against them
>Iceborne had easily the best lance gameplay ever
Nope that's still Sunbreak lance if you dont count Frontier lance.
In fact I would say Iceborne lance was extremely cucked because there are true unblockable attacks in that game even with guard up, had lower MVs across the board, and had to get a pity boost with the Fatalis weapon to make up for the lower MVs
All I'm saying.
>World Lance was easily the most mobile it had been at that point in the series
>what is GU
Nah Sunbreak unfricked lance
I just hope the guarded charge stays in some form, like not letting go of R when you start a charge or something
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
Please make the movement slow.
>open world
>movement slow
lol lmao
traversal != movement during fight.
Clutch claw already ruin the fight but at least it restricted to grapple on monster part instead of imaginary bugs..
do you think crapcom will add hot waifus again? or are we getting that moronic world treatment
The sandstorm thing confuses me, especially at the end where it turns the desert into plains/grasslands. It's making me think that there's just going to be one map that turns into different biomes.
that's pretty clearly what they're teasing, some sort of real-time biome switching mechanic
Sunken/volcanic hollow is back baby!
That would be cool
It would be neat if we got lightning rods back to frick with kushala.
I think it's just the storm literally blowing sand off the vegetation. Monster Hunter isn't that mystical
I tried only MH4U and i never finished it because grinding monster parts is fricking boring
inb4 live service
inb4 denuvo
in4 no crossplay
>in4 no crossplay
Capcom last failed coop game got mandatory capcom id for crossplay.
Why do you think they announced this game on all platforms during reveal trailer?
They made you use a Capcom ID for the (currently running by the way go vote) 20th anniversary poll. I reckon that might be to prepare people to use one for crossplay too
>claw apologists
Out
RE ENGINE WAS A FRICKING MISTAKE
So some people reckon you will be able to carry a second weapon on your mount, that seems really cool, full mid hunt reequiping would be lame but letting you choose one alternate weapon to bring with you is a pretty neat idea, take a long sword to avoid having to frick around with slicing shotd
Bring back wirebugs but only for traversal. Make them too scared to be used when you have large monster aggro.
No, no more aggro bullshit. I don't want to wait around 45 seconds to fast travel to camp because I moved very slightly too close to a small monster.
Bro, your farcaster?
I can't pick my camp,. and I have to restock because I can only carry 1 around. It's so fricking inconvenient and pointless. If I'm able to bring up the map menu and select a destination I'm probably not in compbat.
the bird-palamute almost certainly going to be the all-in-one traversal tool
although that raises the question of why the slinger is back
Cause it was nice for aiming the throwables and the hunters aren't gonna be ninjas with ninja stars for everything this time
not a good trade-off for ruining every single armor set in the game
You don't need an arm mounted slingshot to justify the hunter being able to aim where they throw globs of shit.
>that raises the question of why the slinger is back
Cuts down on modeling some armor and they already know how it functions in gameplay.
But they already have slinger-free armor modeled in RE Engine.
>6 dragons in logo
>wilds
>seed sapling thing guarded by 2 dragon big dick guardian
I'm guessing the open world thing is going to be the 6 stages and we're going to "Hunt" for these 6 guardians in the savannah safari to get to the sapling thing
2025 feels so far away I can't even feel excited yet. We won't even see more till summer 2024. Kind of deflated my hype for now.
capcom make palicos ride on the back of the bird's saddle i am fricking begging
inb4 no Lagi AGAIN
New Lagi that digs
LGi that swims though clouds for mounted aerial combat.
So Shantien?
That's Almudron.
Guys not trying to FUD but that trailer was nothing compared to the insane mind bending hype of world. Graphics don't look like much of a leap, looks like they'll have shitty rise elements and this shit mounting meme is gay. The trailer just didn't do it for me
it was a pretty shit trailer
To be fair the jump between 3rd gen and 4th gen was similarly small
MH was never renowned for its graphics, worldbab.
I started on mh freedom 1. Don't like any of the Nintendo games art direction. 3 and 3u were passable the rest were awful
I can tell the dynamic weather from that trailer alone will play out just as boringly as the scripted monster fight sequences
Worldbabs were a fricking mistake
That's fine, you don't have to play it
thanks for the update, see you in 2025
Fr fr ongod
>Graphics don't look like much of a leap
The graphically impressive part was meant to be the big herd
>Graphics don't look like much of a leap
Welcome to the PS4/Xbone generation
No but seriously, the only game that looked next gen on TGA was that Wukong game. They're not even trying anymore.
Wukong isn't a real game
I sure hope not because it makes MH6 look like a pile of fricking shit.
even if it were a real game, it's Chinese, and thus would play like absolute shit
No it didn't
>They're not even trying anymore.
Good. Art style >>>>>>>>>>>> graphical fidelity
nintendoBlack folk seething rn cos the series peaked 6 years ago and a good MH game and it being on switch are mutually exclusive
>newworldgay
started in MH3u
disgusting world homosexuals you don't deserve to play monster hunter games please frick off and go play fortnite lego you fricking morons
I want hunting styles or switch skills back
hunting arts and anything similar to it can frick off though
Aren't they kind of pointless though? Can't they just integrate every move into the weapon's moveset instead of making them mutually exclusive?
>World Lance was absolutely fine, if lacking slightly in damage
It's so fricking pathetically weak for no reason.
They didn't touch the damage numbers on Hammer or Lance for like 5 games straight after 3rd gen
Why? Who knows.
Some weapons wouldn't have enough buttons unless they start using both shoulder buttons as modifiers, I don't think they wanna stack that much shit on a weapon at once either
I'd rather go back to having a GS moveset that doesn't involve cartwheels, TYVM.
Switch skills sure, but I'm not sure why you would want hunting styles to come back without arts when they're basically chopped up versions of guild aside from valor
>My mom's dinosaur instead of palamute
This is another world 2, enjoy your full dinosaur cast again
I will
literally the first large monster they showed was a big badger
Will /ourguy/ the shit weasel return?
>mud
100%
I truly hope not
Obnoxious ass homosexual that needs to be driven to extinction, hope not.
The japs love him and the mudfish, so it may be more likely than we would hope.
please no
Kinda hope the sumo kappa makes a return. I liked him.
>It'll be five years into the gen before we get a "current gen" monhun
Remember when this was a yearly series? Also not showing the flagship is lame
They didn't show the flagship because it was kicking up so much dust you couldn't see it
/slop/i
Looks like western trash more and more. Monsters look boring, gameplay looks slow
World and its success due to western casuals killed Mh
>gameplay looks slow
That's a plus.
Haven't played the meta in my entire time playing sunbreak and it's worked out for me.
>MH Wilds is abbreviated as MHW
Worldgods fricking did it.
>Adding an extra letter becomes MHWi
>MHWI
MH Wildin
>MHWI
>MHWII
Confirmed for Wii??
Wait
>MHWilds
>MHWil
>MHWII
>MHW2
It's World 2.
Rise had staggered release, but simul updates
pretty sure they already planned to do simul release, but rise got fuged by the wuhan flu
World was late to PC cause the MH devs were doing the port themselves (badly) to learn how to make computer games
Rise was late to PC cause Ninteno paid a fat stack for it
Who knows this time, maybe it just won't release until every version is ready
World was paid to be PS exclusive, thoughbeit. PC and xbox were later.
World on PS and Xbox at the same time
sony also paid for world console exclusivity
Sony would be shouting it from the rooftops if it was an exclusive
Good thing they already got BTFO here then.
>Thoughts
The trailer looked kinda shotty, and didn't show much
>Expectations
No underwater combat, no pre rise HH
>Monsters
Odogaroon.
My fellow dooters. Hopefully the atrocity of the foul Rise horn ne'er again sees the light of day.
God I hope it's still arcade-y. Frick everyone who wants "immersive hunting experience" I just want to hit things
It's MH, the main appeal is always going to be fighting a monster.
Have fun getting literally 10 azure rath tails to upgrade your prominent lance.
>Have fun getting literally 10 azure rath tails
Thanks, I will. It's a fun fight after switching to GS and getting the timing down to land full charges everytime it flies in the air.
I hope you like walking 10 minutes across the open world between each hunt
oils
metsu shoryugeki
>kill divebombing monsters with the uppercut
rock fricking solid
I'm playing MHFU and got two Rathalos rubies in one catch after grinding Silver Rath for a while 🙂
this is not MH anymore
it's the fully realized version if what MH was always meant to be
all I need is my trusty gunlance and I'm good
that said, I kinda hope they trim down the skills a little, mainly because I feel like they let you have way too many now
The hunter has clutch claw and scout flies in the trailer
>clutch claw
moron, it's a slinger
seethe cope dilate troony tendie
moron
>Wilds
I better be able to capture an agnaktor and then use him as an engine for a Wyverian steam train.
wilds is an awful name
I just want the big guild hub back along with actual food to eat for pre hunt buffs.
Monster Hunter Wilds West
I hope they learn their mistakes from world. Just let me play mh to kill monsters the story is fricking irrelevant.
>Oh no, my 4 hours content ruining my 2k hours of grinds.
>Why are you so upset about that one time you ate shit? You eat normal food most of the time.
>food analogy
Can they make it optional? It's fine if you like the story, but why force people that dont want a story?
I think the perfect start to mh is a short cutscene you can skip and then you can run straight to the hub invite your friends and start hunting a random big bird.
Why force the dude into a gameplay movie for 20 mins before he can hunt
What would stampedes and multiple monsters on screen even achieve? That just sounds like ass in MH and that's seemingly the selling point this time
Anon, you know you can just go get friends if you want attention right?
no need to pretend to be moronic on an anonymous image board.
I dunno ask MH1 and the hoards of Apceros and Velociprey and Vespoids in every other area.
>stampedes
Oh shit rampage 2.0 incoming!
I feel like Sunbreak doesn't have much of an indentity after removing rampages. I mean, the game didn't really add any new gimmicks. Scrolls? Please.
>the game didn't really add any new gimmicks
wirebugs and dogs aren't new gimmicks?
>MH
>MH2
>MH3
>MH4
>MHW
>MH6
Sunbreak, not Rise. Rise had a much stronger identity than Sunbreak.
Considering how hard the fanbase screamed bloody murder over the gimmicks in the base game, can you blame them?
>MH6 gets a trailer
>Capcom stock DROPS in response
It has never ever been this over.
the game not coming out until 2025 is probably what hurt them
>can't abbreviate it to MHW because Monster Hunter World exists
>can't abbreviate it to MHWi because Monster Hunter World (I)ceborne exists
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
They're Wilds pilled
It's called MH6, there's even a 6 on the logo.
>there's even a 6 on the logo.
Holy frick I didn't see it I'm dumb.
The official abbreviation is MHWs
Please change the name, the word Wild belongs to us....
i bought it during the steam sale but the pc port was fricking atrocious so i refunded it, a shame because the game seemed fun
They really never fixed that shit? I would've given it a shot if I didn't hear about the game shitting the bed hard when you hit the high rank equivalent
yep, there's a reason there's still nore negative than positive reviews on steam
>inb4 portable 6th comes out before wilds as a switch 2 launch title
Is it time for them to add a new weapon?
yeah, fists
Why do we need a new weapon?
because we wildin homie
Because there's still no weapon that's a big sword.
why not? Its been long enough and new weapons to play with are fun
they will add prowler
so they are back to cranking out this shit like it's Madden? disgusting
it will have been 3 years since the last Monster Hunter when Wilds releases
I want a class system and the ability to swap between 2 classes on the fly. It's time to give this franchise some gameplay deepness.
The different weapons ARE the class system
the weapons are the classes
I WILL play your game.
I WILL main lance again.
I WILL NOT learn any fancy combos.
I WILL terrify the monsters by simply walking towards them while disregarding their attacks because I run gaurd 5 and hp recover on hits.
I WILL bully all monsters again.
Bow gays can never compete.
>Playing that slow-ass weapon on maps this big
The monster will run after your felyne to the other side of the planet. By the time it comes back you will have timed out.
Oh, they did for turf war.
But does B52 ever as annoying in Rise than World?
Do you remember the last time you actually used a dung pod in Rise?
Yes, Beezlejuice was infinitely more annoying than any invader in Rise
Only certain matchups had turfwars, everything else was the usual clusterfrick of two monsters clogging up the room until you got your shit bombs out
You can still get that in Rise in the arena missions but its really rare on the normal maps
>He doesn't know about the Lance charge dashing
FACT: LANCE USERS ARE THE FASTEST IN MONSTER HUNTER UNIVERSE WHEN IT COMES TO MOVEMENT
the nips are calling it MHWilds instead of MHWs
>Wa-ru-do
>Wi-ru-do-su
The name is confusing for everyone
Prove it.

I hope to GOD they dont do the World formula again with the bullshit story cutscenes.
The best MH is minimal story like Portable.
Do any of you actually use hunting items? When playing Rise I rarely use them.
Please no more annoying, ugly, and fricking suicidal handlers.
Please more cuties like Fiorayne, the Twins, Yomogi, or Luchika.
Hell I'll take out of place low poly beauties from old games over another hander.
The Cute Handler mod is essential

These threads have the dumbest posters
Why do world only players feel pride in shit design that makes a good game worse than what it could be?
Its like they feel offended that people think some of the experimental stuff just didn't work.
>hopes
Basically World 2 but with no tracks finding, no bugs highlighting shit, and no "weaken parts of the monster to do more damage to it" homosexualry. No Rise shit.

I know it's probably the new main theme of the game or whatever but no proof of a hero in the reveal gave me some spiritual blueballs
>no overused music
Thank god
The entire trailer felt rushed honestly, some anon said that Geoff asked Capcom to show the game since there were frick all major announcements and they shat out this trailer.
Its definitely just a teaser trailer, I expect there will be a bigger one sometime closer to the actual 20th anniversary in march
that'd make sense, there really was frick-all announced besides this
MHW2?
>open world
>realism graphics
