Niohsisters... we fricking lost to Sekiro... now we lose to Wo Long... it just isn't fair! We should have gotten Nioh 3, not this! All the casuals are buying Wo Long and we will never get Nioh 3, I am so gutted, frick.
wtf? Why did it sell so well? That's legitimately impressive considering wo long is also a day 1 gamepass game so there are likely a ton more people playing it on PC just through that. Is this the elden ring effect of a new IP giving the sense that it's better to get into than a sequel?

China and simultaneous release with consoles instead of 1 year later.
Yeah that makes sense. I think Nioh 2 also released on EGS first? so steam sales would naturally be lower.
Even though i'm not a fan of Wo Long, i'm glad Team Ninja games are selling more. I just hope Wo Long doesn't cause them to believe they can't make complex combat systems anymore.
on the contrary actually, EGS version came out later.
i do very much fear thats going to be the case. nioh had a splendid combat system and im extremly dissapointed how this game has arguably less combat options than fricking souls games. less than bloodborne for sure

I'm an xbox normie and downloaded it literally based on the artwork and screenshots alone, having never heard of it before. The artwork makes it look better and more souls-like than Nioh. I'll delete it before opening it because it sounds bad
If you have never played souls-like than go and play it, it is on game-pass, but after it go buy and play the actual good games like nioh games and sekiro.
I tried Sekiro but gave up about a third of the way through because it's too relentlessly difficult. It's a beautiful game and the combat is fun but I don't understand the appeal of constant, hard boss fights. Where's the pay off? Another boss fight to spend an hour on? Sounds like Wo Long is easier which is good for a normie like me
>Where's the pay off?
Becoming one with the blade, enjoying the dance of life and death with the enemy boss, hearing the symphony of clashing steel. Sekiro to me was a spiritual experience, no game did that to me, maybe I had ancestors that partook in a lot of melee combat and my genetic subconscious memory was revitalized a bit during playing Sekiro. >Sounds like Wo Long is easier which is good for a normie like me
It is okay, play Wo Long, it isn't a bad game. Do check out Nioh games once you are done though, they are pretty cool games.
I tried the demo out, wasn't really feeling the combat (something about the visuals made it feel confusing), although I feel like if I gave it a longer try I'd get into it more, like it did with NIOH 2. Also my blind/stupid ass could not find where to go after you encounter the tiger-demon in front of the hut so I just quit lmao
Wo Long was made by the C team while the a team was busy with the openworld samurai game and b team were busy with Stranger of Paradise.
The D team worked on Dead or Alive 6.
I just reached the hub village and already I know I prefer Nioh 2 over this but I'm enjoying the game a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with DLCs and NG cycles
>companion won't shut the frick up >tooltips covering half the screen during bossfights reminding you about reflect >floaty ass animations all around
if you told me this is an obscure team ninja game made for the PS3 before Nioh was released I'd believe you in a heartbeat
Isn't the morale system kinda okay? You can both actually level up to unlock new skills and shit, but also keep the game challenging by doing low morale runs.
Bosses become jokes if you explore, kill mooks and raise flags which is what you'll most likely do on your first playthrough. Limiting spells behind morale is really weird because morale already rewards you with massive stat boost. And IMO fighting with low morale doesn't feel very satisfying because it reduces your damage too much.
Team Ninja has never thought. All of their games are shit.
I don't know and it's stupid. It's way too easy and simple. Like the game feels really braindead.

Yeah... this sucks. I prefer Nioh as well. Fricking normies man.

WO LONG NIOH!
Are there cool axes I this game or us it just chinkoid swords and spears?
there are great axes, halberds and dual wielded mini-halberds

bruh just jump

That's bullshit but I believe it
>D team
>Dead or alive 6
Appropriate in many ways
its over niohbros, soulsgays won.
we do nothing but mash X to attack and the game sells twice as much as nioh 2
>>x x x x x x x x x y
What is this?
If you press those same buttons over and over again, you will be sucked.
mashing x is the only path of attack, and it doesnt matter where you use your y *heavy* attack, it will always be the same.
I see. I didn't realize we were talking about controller buttons.
if the game is fun, Ganker will hate it

i like nioh 2 enough, but found the level design really tedious.
is this game any better?
levels are noticeably shorter, shortcuts are useless.
