Having characters from a previous game show up as older in the sequels is my favorite fanservice trope of all time. Makes KH worth revisiting despite all the shit just because it's cool to see Sora keep growing up
Nia shouldn't have ended up with Rex, the ending of 2 made it pretty obvious that she was accepting of Rex's love for the Aegis girls.
This bombshell not only goes back on that, but makes Rex retroactively an unnecessarily large overhanging shadow for this game's lore. In Future Redeemed, half the playable cast has Rex's genes.
Rex himself, his daughter, and Matthew who is technically his grandson. Add Ne'ol onto that for post-game and it's over half the cast.
>Rex himself, his daughter, and Matthew who is technically his grandson. Add Ne'ol onto that for post-game and it's over half the cast.
Not genetically, but A could also be seen as his sister in law.
Actually, Nia was Takahashi's intended wife for Rex, he wanted to kill off Pneuma but Soraya and the rest of the team convinced him not to as this would run too counter to the game's generally softer and sillier tone, so he had to make do with her and this was the result, you can notice he really has no love lost for Pyra and Mythra considering they don't even factor into the plot of 3 and they're just a random McGuffin in Future Redeemed, while Nia is the queen and her daughter is a protagonist.
Also, we don't know if Noah is related to Shulk, he could be his son or his nephew, potentially making Nikol, Matthew and Na'el all related to Shulk as well.
>Actually, Nia was Takahashi's intended wife for Rex
[citation needed] >Also, we don't know if Noah is related to Shulk
Nope, we do know he is not related. If he were then they would've made it abundantly clear like they did with the other kids.
>If he were then they would've made it abundantly clear like they did with the other kids.
Uh, no? This runs entirely counter to how 3 was written, there's lots of implications that several characters are related to prior protagonists, like Sena with Brighid, Ashera with Dunban and Crys with Shulk, but they purposefully keep it ambiguous so the game doesn't feel like it requires you to play the previous two, even with the queens they keep the talk of their past to a minimum, with it only really factoring in their ascension quests in the postgame, otherwise Nia never gives any indication that she wants to talk to Mio specifically and Dromarch is weirdly absent, and Melia doesn't mention her friends at all, not even Riki or Kino even tough Riku is confirmed to be the son of one of them; most references to the previous game are aesthetic, either in the visuals (Mechon, Artifices, certain elements of the landscape) or in the music (Elaice Highway, Great Sword Base, Erythia Sea).

Well that just means 3 has shitty writing because they were too afraid to step on the toes of the lowest common denominator in 2 to have conviction in what they made. And then you just go into fricking headcanon territory after that, so I really don’t feel you’re arguing from actual merit, but just making excuses as to why the game you like can’t possibly have problems with how it was written.

There's nothing natural about these shallow relationships. And Nia was literally tacked on like an afterthought. It's just vapid pandering that might as well be porn.
He has no emotional connection to Na'el and she was willingly helping Alpha destroy Aionios, at that point familial relationships fly out the window, Shulk had more of a familial link to Dickson but he still killed him, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do for the greater good; the point is that what M saw was out of context, N did not want to kill his son, but Ghondor was being stupid and letting Alpha manipulate him.

I think 3's only weak spot on its OST is its area themes (which, granted, are what you hear 80% of your playtime).
I feel like its cutscene tracks and battle tracks are up there with 1's and 2's. I think Weight of Life stands handily alongside, if not a little bit above Counterattack and Engage the Enemy (even if it only plays twice in the whole game) >the rest of the cast sucked and the story was an absolute mess
I strongly disagree but that may be down to personal taste.
Everything about this game is like the type of thing that is funny because it was made by an autistic child with a speck of down syndrome but without a hint of irony.
This game has multiple endings. Pic related is the bad ending where the protagonist turns on the party (consisting of the heroes from the previous game) killing them to protect his brother.
Right before the final dungeon, Ludger has to duel and kill his brother because a Kresnik must be sacrificed to open the way to Canaan. Ludger can choose to say frick that, turn on his party and kill everyone. This results in a bad ending since Julius' death is inevitable due to a corruption that occurs whenever a Kresnik uses their powers. The world also will lose a bet made by some spirits that will result in the destruction of the world.
In Canaan, after beating the final boss you have the choice between making a wish to stop the dimensional fractures or to save Elle, Ludger's adoptive/actual daughter. Stopping the fractures will solve the problem the world is facing, but Elle dies since she's been taking the burden Ludger was facing due to his Kresnik abilities. Choosing to save Elle will have the spirit who watches over the soul cleansing process to see the potential for humanity and will call off the bet, continuing his job and stopping the fractured dimensions from appearing. Ludger, however, has to take all of the corruption at once to do this, causing him to die instead. Then there's the cameo ending where you beat up the cameo characters in an arena match, tell them about the problem you're facing, and they go to Canaan to beat everyone up and save Elle. Then there's the loan repayment ending where Ludger pays off his loan and his debt collector/childhood friend invites the party to a hot springs to celebrate. The girls enjoy a nice time while the guys all get eaten by one of the party member's doll.
For me, it was that one moron that claimed the "Nia is a cuck" meme was just all one person and everybody knew this was the logical conclusion all along and not at all a retcon.
I think I would prefer him just picking one. If they wanted to be turbo-based they could have set it up so it tracked what you picked in 2 on save data. But having it be all 3 is fine, I think it makes sense for Mythra and Pyra and I guess it can for Nia even if thats stretching it.
Also its easy doujinbait.
I think Chapter 6 is decent but Chapter 7 is sort of bare on stuff to do outside the main story.
I think Side Story Noah and the actual progression through Origin could have been better. Not sure what I'd do to improve side story Noah but Origin just really needed some different visuals and dungeon design to keep things fresh. The purple techno mess is cool to start but we should have ended up in some weird baroque town that surrounded the theater and house most of Moebius
based, I wish it wasn't just Nintendo promoting open relationships and cuckoldry. The idea of monoamoric "love" between two people is an outdated concept that only got popular because of israelites.
The main thing that sucks is that this series is stuck on shit hardware. Not that its their fault, they just happened to be there and their relationship with Nintendo works really well for them, but damn was 3 held back by hardware limitations.
Best hope is that whatever console nintendo makes next is somewhat beefy, but thats not happening.
How so? 3 ended with a time reset, therefore all the events of 3/FR never happened, save for a few characters remembering like Noah and Mio. FR implies the worlds do infact unite after the time reset and therefore Noah and Mio get their happy ending, Rex and his family are still young and together, same goes for Shulk and all the other XB1+2 families.
The only unanswered implications at this point is whether city characters are born in this new world's timeline. It seems extremely unlikely to be tbh, but at the very least Vandham will likely be born in this world.
Its been suggested before, but a Xenoblade Warriors after the events of 3 would be great because all the cast members of 1/2/3/FR will be the right ages. Rex and Shulk will be adults, Noah, Mio, Glimmer, Mythras daughter and Nikol will all be about 19. A bunch of XB1/2 characters will be barely aged due to their race
Who's the father?
Rex, the Sexual Tyrannosaurus.
He doesnt even need to frick a girl to knock her up. He just flashes a friendly smile at a woman and nine months later she has a daughter.
HE HAS GHOST SEMEN
It's literally two ever.
Hang on a second....
Is the danganronpa image saying the girl has kids from 2 different guys?
So it's the same as Xenoblade?
3, and that's the joke ending where they choose to stay trapped in their prison.
Impressive power

Soon...everyone will be related to rex. The girls will be a dead giveaway because they will have huge breasts, gorilla strength, or both.
Oh, so when Genghis Khan populates 1/8 of the known world it's fine, but when Rex does it everyone gets angry.
>Rex himself, his daughter, and Matthew who is technically his grandson. Add Ne'ol onto that for post-game and it's over half the cast.

I will never forgive Namco Bandai cancelling Xillia 3.
I really wanted to play as teenage Elle going on a journey to bring her dad back
For me, it was that one moron that claimed the "Nia is a cuck" meme was just all one person and everybody knew this was the logical conclusion all along and not at all a retcon.
Yea we need more harems
I think I would prefer him just picking one. If they wanted to be turbo-based they could have set it up so it tracked what you picked in 2 on save data. But having it be all 3 is fine, I think it makes sense for Mythra and Pyra and I guess it can for Nia even if thats stretching it.
Also its easy doujinbait.
More vidya with harems?
I like 3. Main cast is great and the story is interesting but it blows its load in the act 5/6 area and ends on a bit of nothing.
>story is interesting
Haha, yes. I disagree with you.
>Main cast is great
nah, Noah and Mio are the worst leads in the series
I thought they were pretty good. What do people dislike about them?
They're just boring. There's not much to their characters other than flutes + simping.
I liked them.
I think I like them a BIT more than Rex but I don't really dislike any of the leads.
Shulk is the best though.
A shitty cop-out? Because that's what harems are in storytelling.
based, I wish it wasn't just Nintendo promoting open relationships and cuckoldry.
Best hope is that whatever console nintendo makes next is somewhat beefy, but thats not happening.
on one hand that's a based ending
on the other hand it destroyed discussion of this franchise forever
All I wanted for FRs ending was to see Noah and Mio reunited, and now with their son. Bonus point to see Shulk and Rex there too with family.
They were never going to do that. It would deflate the game’s entire message
>Its been suggested before, but a Xenoblade Warriors
no, frick off
Sorry but its going to happen. The Warriors director even said so himself
>The Warriors director even said so himself
[citation needed]
That is way too cheesy
Well it would be if 1 and 2 didn't go with pretty cheesy happy endings themselves. It's a situation of precedent vs tonal appropriateness
I could not possibly care any less about seeing Noah and Mio reunited
Thats wish fulfillment that would never realistically work
